songbird. [A.I.]
“and I love you, I love you, I love you— like never before.”
a restless night and troubled mind, Ashton helps you back to sleep with a lullaby.
a/n: some sweet sweet nothings to make up for lost time. (this was supposed to be only fluff but my friends are enablers) life’s been giving me hell, holy shit— but anyone who knows me personally knows how much this song means to me :) enjoy!! (this is also not proofread i just rlly wanted to publish something!)
CW: very very brief mention of anxiety, good ol’ lovin’, touchin’, squeezin, brief making out, c*ckwarming, slight praise kink.
WORDCOUNT: ~2.5k

The clock in your bedroom wouldn’t stop ticking. It never usually stopped, but tonight it was more of an issue than normal. Ash was sleeping peacefully beside you, his arm acting as your headrest as his other hand fell limp in yours.
The two of you fell asleep like this every single night without fail. No matter how hard the days were, how long the nights were or how early either of you had to wake up in the morning, it was always this. Your head on his chest, towards the crook of his shoulder, hand in hand.
You tried to listen to the gentle thumping of his heartbeat, something to drown out the obnoxious ticking that made you want to just toss that dumb thrift store alarm clock out of the window. Every single attempt to close your eyes and lull yourself to sleep was futile, and you didn’t want to move in fear of waking Ashton up.
This was quite a tough situation. You wished that you could maybe play some music or browse your phone but again, you wouldn’t be able to live with yourself if you stirred your sleepy boyfriend out of his sweet, sweet dreams.
It had come to a point where staring out into the darkness was doing you no good. Your mind was moving a mile a minute and your body felt awake enough to run laps around your apartment. You had to do something, something you absolutely hated to do.
“Ashton?”
You whisper softly, close enough to his face but still too lowly for any sign of alertness. His chest rose and fell, his breathing mellow.
“Ash? Baby—”
You felt awful for even attempting this, but you remembered how Ashton had told you, very early on into your time living together, that if you needed anything, just to wake him. That memory puts your mind at ease.
A few more soft coos of his name eventually brought him to stir. He sucks in a deep breath, squeezing your hand tighter out of force of habit.
“Mmmh?”
You could see a smile tugging at his sleepy face, before his eyes fluttered open and met yours.
“Can’t sleep.”
“Angel,” His groggy voice is laced with dreams and stars, “why not?”
“Dunno’. I just—couldn’t fall asleep… couldn’t stop thinking.”
It was still dark in your shared bedroom, only the pale moonlight mixing with the warmer glow of a Himalayan salt lamp illuminated a single corner, the one closest to the window. Wafts of Patchouli caught your senses as Ashton twisted to face you, his features still dim in the night time.
“What’re you thinkin’ about? Have a bad dream?”
Poor Ashton. You could tell just how tired he was by the way his words clustered into one, run-on sentence. Your heart strings pulled tighter as he fought to stay awake, to comfort you.
“Just things. Lots of things. Staring into the dark wasn’t helping my case.”
Ashton then untangles your hands, reaching up to caress the side of your cheek. His blistered fingertips cup your face, middle finger gently rubbing your temple.
“Wanna talk about it?”
“No,” you whisper, “just— wanted you here.”
Ashton chuckles, his body still warm from being woken up as he leans in to brush the tip of his nose against yours.
“You’re lucky I love you more than anything,” he mumbles, brushing against your lips and making you shiver, “because I value sleep quite a lot.”
“I know you do. That’s why I felt so bad waking you,” you sigh, eventually bridging the miniscule gap and placing a gentle kiss onto his Cupid’s bow.
He breaks away, and you could slightly see the shimmer in his mossy eyes catch the moonbeams from the window. Your entire body felt fuzzy, like there was nothing in the world that could pull you from this moment.
“Y’ need anything? A glass of water? Want me to rub your back?”
He seemed more awake now, after taking a moment to tense up and stretch out his arm beneath your head. You moved with him, simply because you’d rather die than leave his arms.
Instead of responding to his tender question, you kiss him again. A lightning bolt of electricity shoots through your veins like you’d kissed him for the very first time. No matter how many kisses you’d give him in this lifetime, it always felt the same.
Your lips lock effortlessly, his tongue lazily tangling with yours as he pulls you tighter into his chest.
“A kiss, huh?” Ashton’s words bounce off of you, “That’s all you needed?”
You take a deep breath, and for some reason the thought of not kissing him for a third time made you upset. You were oddly vulnerable this late at night, all you wanted was to be close to him.
“You alright, angel? You’re all lovey dovey. Usually you’re a little demon this late at night. I can’t win with you.”
A soft chuckle shakes Ashton’s chest, your fingertips drumming along it.
“Thought I’d switch it up. I’ll let you be the crabby one tonight.”
Ashton scoffs, “Crabby? You kiddin’ me? When you kissed me just then— ‘thought I was still dreaming.”
“You’re not mad I woke you?” You ask, tugging at the collar of his t-shirt.
“Not at all.”
In one swift motion, Ashton is pulling you to lay on top of him, your legs straddling either side of his hips. But the act itself isn’t sexually driven, there’s no eagerness or lust in this position. It was just a way to get you closer.
You press your cheek onto his shoulder, kissing at his neck as he cranes it for better access. Your movements are tender and loving, with Ashton’s hands running up and down your back and moving your sweatshirt along with it.
“Cold?” He asks, and you can feel his body rumble with laughter when you nod yes.
“Is it always this cold in here? God, I’m freezing.”
“Oh hush. If I turned the air down you’d wake up in a pool of sweat and be grumpy in the morning. Sleeping in the cold is better for your body, anyway.”
“And who told you that?” You ask, trying to cuddle up to him to feed off of his warmth.
“Read it somewhere.”
You shake your head with a smile, letting the feeling of his rough palms lull you back into that peaceful state you were in before your mind ran off elsewhere.
The two of you sit still for a moment, Ashton attempting to do all of the things that help you fall asleep on any night where you get like this. He didn’t mind at all, he knew he’d sleep better if you were out cold beside him. He believed that waking up in the middle of the night to an empty side of the bed was worse than having to stay up those extra few minutes to help you back to sleep.
“Ash?” You break the silence, poking your head up to see his side profile.
“Yeah?”
“Sing for me?”
His chest shakes with laughter, the rubbing on your back coming to a slowdown.
“You want me to sing? Right now?”
“I wouldn’t be asking if not.”
With an apprehensive sigh, Ashton’s head sinks further into the pillows. He was no stranger to humming you back to sleep, or sitting at the foot of your bed and strumming out some obscure instrumental guitar piece while you took your mid-day nap. But it was late now, he didn’t want to disappoint you, yet he hadn’t quite enough energy to sing.
“If you don’t wanna, that’s fine. I know it’s late,” you say softly, pinching the fabric of his tee between two fingers.
He shakes his head, “No no, it’s not that I don’t want to, I just—”
You wait for him to finish his thought, still laying on his chest and listening to his heartbeat. But rather than completing his sentence, he begins to whistle.
You always knew how skilled Ashton’s lips were from kissing him alone, but whistling? This was news to you.
He began the tune of Songbird, by Fleetwood Mac, the high pitch sounds leaving his person truly resembling some sort of magical winged creature that was created specially to put you to sleep.
You cuddle back up to his chest, his broad palms squeezing your sides reassuringly then moving towards your ass— better believe he squeezed that too.
The air around you was growing tense. Now that you had Ashton awake beneath you, the closeness of your bodies piled onto one another still wasn’t close enough. You, unfortunately, needed to be closer.
As Ashton ends his song, you can feel his head pop up to check and see if his lullaby had won you over to the sandman. Unluckily for him, it didn’t.
“All that and you’re still awake?” he chuckles, his voice a bit froggy and coarse before he clears his throat, and continues to trace soothing circles onto your back.
You shake your head, a bit too sheepish to actually answer him with words. The feeling that was now clouding your mind seemed awfully embarrassing to have at two in the morning. Rather than speaking, having no better judgment to do so, you begin to faintly roll your hips against his groin.
“Baby—” Ashton giggles, an apprehensive warning.
“What? M’not doin’ anything.”
“Yes you are, you little minx. What’s on your mind?”
With the heaviest sigh you could muster, you lay your forehead flat onto his chest and continue to swivel your hips against him. You’d hoped that in your years of being with him, he was keen to read your mind.
“‘Wanna be closer to you.”
You had to give Ash credit for this, for his mind reading abilities were proven once again. The chaste kiss to the top of your head told you everything you needed to know as his hands slid from your spine all the way down to your backside.
“Could’ve just said so. You want me inside, don’t you?”
His suggestive words cause a shiver down your limbs, raising goosebumps on every single exposed surface of your flesh that were immediately remedied by his blistered palms.
“Yes, please—” you mumble, meekly pressing your cheek to his shirt.
“Don’t be embarrassed, my girl. Nothin’ to be ashamed of, yeah?”
If the lights were on in your bedroom, Ashton would see that your face looked about as hot as it felt. As you bumble awkwardly, Ashton ignores those minuscule, abashed whimpers and slowly starts to wiggle you out of your pajamas.
You move with him fluidly, lifting your hips to make things easier on him as he removes the pajama pants of his own; the two of you had a matching pair, which seemed fitting for the circumstances.
“I know you’re tired, angel— but you’ve gotta work with me okay?”
“I’m trying,” you plead, both of you giggling at the comfortable inhibitions of this scenario.
Once your lower half is completely bare, you lift yourself to sit upright. You could still see the slight shimmer in his eyes casted by moonbeams as his irises darted to follow your figure. He props his head up behind his elbow, ensuring the view.
The exchange is wordless, yet there’s a lot more fervor behind your actions as you slide his half-hard dick through the hole in his boxers. He grunts in approval, then hisses the moment you wrap your palm fully around him.
“Just like that, angel. Take it slow— ‘not in a rush or anythin’.”
You nod, your top teeth sunken into your bottom lip which was enough to stifle a moan as you lift your hips and drag his tip along your folds.
“Fuck,” Ashton groans, “you’re so fuckin’ wet baby. So ready. All this for me?”
“All— all for you,” you hum, stumbling over your words when he lifts his hips to prod at your slick entrance.
“Niiiice and easy. Just like that—” Ashton coaches you through the motions of lowering yourself onto his cock, his girth stretching you comfortably as you were already wet enough due to his caresses and kisses.
Once your pelvis reaches the base of him, a collective sigh engulfs the dimly lit bedroom. If only the lights were on. If only you had more energy to just ride him and get the both of you off. If only.
“Feelin’ good, angel? I must say, you look spectacular on my dick. As always.”
You push out a chuckle at his compliment, feeling too occupied by the feeling of him stretching your insides to even think, let alone fire off a witty retort. A moan catches in your throat when you try to change your position, his tip reaching your sweet spot the moment you attempt to lower yourself back down onto his chest.
“Lay back down. Just— relax. You’re doin’ so well.”
Your body eventually lays flat on top of him, his length still buried fully inside of you. You could feel him pulsing and twitching, your own walls clenching at the thought of just how intimate this experience was. He takes a hand to the nape of your neck, massaging your pulse point tepidly, then running those same fingers through your hair.
An elongated sigh leaves your chest as the two of you sit in silence; so relaxing, and sensual. You just can’t help but pop your head up to gaze into his hooded eyes.
“Feels real’ nice,” you say, groggier than before, “Thank you, baby.”
“What’re you thankin’ me for?” God, his voice was just so rich when he’s all sleepy and serene, “I should be thanking you. You’re fuckin’ perfect.”
As you traipse your lips across his jaw, the tired feelings that should’ve come around hours ago were finally starting to hit you. Like a ton of bricks, your body goes limp, leaving your trail of open mouthed kisses to his neck and exposed collarbone to go awry.
“Gettin’ tired, aren’t you?” You hear the words through the hollow of his chest, rather than them leaving his lips.
“Mmmhh—”
Ashton’s body relaxes as well, still deep inside of you with a lazy hand down the curve of your spine.
“Well, you can stay like this as long as you need. I’m here.”
Just as you intend to reply, most likely another string of thank you’s, Ashton presses a kiss to the top of your head, encouraging you to just give into your tiredness and let go.
Your racing mind finally comes to a halt, that ticking alarm clock disappearing into the warm pink hues of the Himalayan salt lamp; you knew this moment was everything you needed and more.
“Mmmh, love you,” you hum into his chest, eyelids heavy like sandbags.
Ashton’s heartbeat picks up slightly, you could hear it right through him; his entire body jolting with electricity as the two of you lay closer than you ever had been before.
“And I love you more.”

Lovin’ Touchin’ Squeezin’
Soooo since I’m in a bit of an emotional drought right now (just dealing with some personal stuff) I decided to share a snippet of a story I had been working on and that’s been sitting in my drafts for 2 years since ST came out 😂😂😂 Some Steve x Reader x Eddie because they’re in a love triangle. If you want it continued let me know. 🤷🏻♀️
You hurried into the gym for the weekly pep rally for the Hawkins Tigers football team. Each grade was in the bleachers, ready to cheer on their team. It was a good way to boost morale and get out of last period a few minutes early. The band always played pep music in the stands during football games before and after preforming the half time show. You had to be at the game tonight as you were a member of the marching band.
During marching season, you were a Majorette—wearing the cute uniform and twirling the sticks as your best friend Eddie Munson teased you. You imagined Eddie would be skipping the pep rally as he could care less about sports. He would much rather invest his time in his Hellfire Club, selling drugs occasionally, or playing with his band at the Hideout.
“Ready for tonight?”, Robin asked loudly over the crowd.
Robin was a good friend and fellow band geek, the term most people referred to members of the band as. She was one of your only girlfriends.
“Definitely.”, you smiled as you grabbed your batons.
The Drum Major counted off each pep song, you doing your routines to each song as the band continued to play, the football team parading around, hyping up your classmates. You scanned the crowd to see if there was any sign of Eddie. There wasn’t. You did see Dustin Henderson and Mike Wheeler, freshman members of his Hellfire Club. The band would end with the fight song. After that, it would be decided which grade would win the spirit stick. You were brought out of your daze when the Drum Major counted off the fight song, beginning to twirl. It was muscle memory.
It had became second nature to you. You had been doing it since freshman year. The senior class of 1986 won the spirt stick, causing you, Robin, and the other band seniors to be quite thrilled. Robin was crushing madly on your fellow band member, Vickie. It was a big step up from Tammy Thompson. The pep rally ended, dismissing all grades from the gymnasium. You picked up your batons and met up with Robin before you both walked back to the band room.
“Eddie miss the pep rally?”, Robin asked as she brushed through her short hair.
“Apparently. He’s not into that, Robin.”, you smirked.
She snorted playfully. You all had about two hours to grab something to eat and be ready to rehearse tonight’s marching band show and the pep band music. After the games, Eddie would pick you up and take you home. You were surprised he would even come to the school long enough to do that. You and Robin grabbed lunch together as always, her rambling on about Vickie.
“Did you see how cute she looked today?”, Robin sighed, stirring the fry in her ketchup.
You smirked. “I’m not the best judge of that.”, you chuckled.
It was cute to see Robin so flustered and worked up over her crush. You could understand. You had secretly been crushing on Eddie for a while, however, he never seemed to reciprocate the feelings. You’d sometimes try and flirt a little here or there, but Eddie would brush it off with a laugh. You’d never admit to flirting with Eddie. You didn’t want to ruin your friendship if he didn’t feel the same.
The other day had really almost done you in. Dustin and Mike were talking about some cute freshman cheerleaders. It was harmless or so you thought. However, Eddie’s words rang in your head and ever since, you couldn’t get them out no matter how hard you tried. “What I’d do to have one night with that.” The worlds he used as Chrissy Cunningham passed by. Your heart sank deep in your chest, quickly realizing you didn’t have a chance with Eddie. He was more into the blonde, cheerleader type.
Before you could turn around, it was time to get dressed in your uniform and prepare to march to the stadium. It was the thing you all always did on Friday nights. Your uniform was a short one piece leotard with your school colors: green, gold, and white. Robin always told you how cute you looked and any boy would be lucky to date you, however, there was just one boy you wanted—Eddie Munson.
The night went on, you going through the motions. It was time for the half time show. Robin smiled at you as her friend and former student at Hawkins High, Steve Harrington came over to chat. He was most of the girls dream when he was in school. He had the perfect hair, played sports, and reeked of confidence. Robin assured you, however, he was just a “dingus”. It was time to go on, each of you taking your correct spot on the field. The Drum Major counted off, you smiling with your pearly whites.
Your movements came natural, remembering and performing each move with grace. You felt all the eyes on you. Little did you know, the eyes you found most important were on you too. He was just under the bleachers, peeping out just enough to see you with a cigarette hanging lazily out of his mouth. He took a puff of it, watching you in that tight little skirt. If you only knew how he felt and what he thought about.
You ended the performance, striking the last pose perfectly. The home crowd cheered before the Drum Major counted off once more, allowing you all to march off and exit the field. You went back into the stands, preparing to take a break for the third quarter.
“Steve!”, you heard Robin shout, instantly catching your attention.
“You did great out there.”, he encouraged her.
“Y/N, come here.”, she eyed you.
You reluctantly stepped up a couple bleachers, almost tripping and falling, Steve catching you easily, making eye contact with you, smiling at you.
“Y/N, you know Steve Harrington.”
“I do.”, you smiled easily.
“Steve, you know Y/N.”
“Yeah, you were a sophomore when I was a senior, right?”
You nodded. “Yeah, thanks for catching me.”, you laughed nervously.
“It’s not a problem, just be careful. Wouldn’t want a pretty girl like you to get hurt.”
Robin shot him a disgusted look. “Steve, was that supposed to be a pick up line?”
Steve blushed before running a hand through his hair. “Was it that bad?”
You giggled easily. “I appreciate it, Steve. Really.”
His smiled remained, becoming softer and almost serious. “Are you doing anything tomorrow night?”
“I’m sorry?”, you asked, almost nervously laughing.
Steve laughed nervously in response, shoving his hands in the pockets of his old letterman jacket. “Are you doing anything tomorrow night?”, he repeated.
“Oh no—no plans.”, you smiled, finally realizing he was trying to ask you out.
“Would you maybe wanna do something?”
Robin watched, mouth gaped open before it turned into a smile. Before the whole Chrissy comment, you wouldn’t have really considered going on a date with anyone else. But that had changed your whole perspective.
“Sounds good. Robin can give me your number.”, you smiled.
There was a chill in the fall wind, causing you to shiver slightly. Your outfit was short and skimpy. You rubbed your arms as if that would conduct a little electricity to warm you up.
“Here.”, Steve said as he shed his jacket, holding it out for you to wrap up in.
You eyed Robin, carefully obliging, letting Steve help you into his jacket. It was significantly bigger than you, but you instantly felt warmer and were no longer shivering. Robin smirked at you as you turned back to face her and Steve. Little did you know, other eyes were watching this unfold—Eddie Munson.
“Thanks, Steve. You didn’t have to do this.”, you blushed at him.
“Really, I don’t mind. It looks good on you.”
If Robin could have gagged, she would have. Steve was one of her best friends—if not her best friend but even his bad pick up lines were hard to watch. Somehow, he was managing to sail right through. You all made small talk as the third quarter clock counted down, Robin and you both taking your respective places back in the stands. The band continued to play pep music, Hawkins was winning against its rival.
The fourth quarter passed quickly, leaving just a few minutes on the clock. As the football team ran the field, the clock counted down further. Hawkins had the ball, the quarterback running for the field goal. Everyone was cheering loudly in anticipation of another touchdown. The quarterback passed the colored goal line, Hawkins side of the stadium cheering as the band counted off the fight song.
You watched the time fade from the fourth quarter, the game ending. Hawkins had won. The band began packing everything up to take it back to the high school. Steve walked behind the band, eager to continue talking to you and Robin. Members of the band were busy packing everything up. You finished up a few minutes early, noticing Steve was waiting to talk to you. Maybe this was how things were supposed to be.
“Hey.”, Steve breathed easily.
“Hey.”, you smiled.
“So tomorrow, right?”
“Tomorrow, for sure.”
Steve smiled, taking a hand through his hair. “I wrote my number down.”
You took the piece of paper, smiling. “Thank you, Steve. I’ll call you tomorrow. I promise.”
“Sounds good, you got a ride home?”
“I do. Oh! Let me give you your jacket back.”, you went to slide it off.
“No, no. It’s too cold. Keep it”, Steve insisted.
You smiled, knowing what it meant when a guy gave a girl his letterman jacket.
“Are you sure?”
“Positive.”, Steve smiled.
Steve held his arms out, offering you an embrace. You allowed him to take you into his arms. The scent of his cologne off his jacket and himself hit your nose. It almost made you weak in your knees. You both pulled back, staring into each other’s eyes. The chemistry was there.
“Hey—time to go home.”, Robin interrupted you both.
Steve usually gave Robin a ride. Eddie give you a ride. It was just how thing were going,
“I’ll talk to you tomorrow, Y/N.”, Steve smiled.
“Okay, be careful Steve.”
“You too, Y/N.”
Robin and Steve exited the school, you not far behind. You immediately saw Eddie’s van parked out front. You walked in the cool fall air to his van, hearing him unlock the door as you approached. Eddie immediately eyed you up and down as you sat down in the seat.
“How was the game?”, he almost deadpanned.
“It was fine, we won.”, you smiled.
Eddie nodded, keeping his eyes on the road. “So I take it you don’t need my leather jacket?”
His voice was laced with jealousy—or at least you thought it was. His knuckles had a tight grip on the steering wheel. His brown eyes finally looked over at you, flipping back between the road and you.
“Not tonight.”
He chuckled. “You’re wearing Harrington’s jacket.”
“How do you know it’s Steve’s jacket?”
“His name is across the back.”, Eddie responded back, taking one finger across the back of it. You felt his finger trace along your back, sending chills down your spine.
“He saw I was cold and gave it to me.”
Eddie rolled his eyes, trying to be playful. “Okay, a guy doesn’t just give a girl his letterman jacket if he doesn’t want to get serious with her.”
“It’s going to be one date.”
The smile faded from Eddie’s lips almost immediately. “So you agreed to a date? With Harrington?”
“I don’t see what the big deal is.”, you crossed your arms, leaning back into the seat.
Eddie laughed sarcastically. “He was the biggest douche in high school. Like he thought he’s God’s gift to women. Did you not learn anything from Wheeler’s mistake?”
If you didn’t know any better, you would have thought Eddie was becoming jealous. He was trying to play it off and be funny, but there was something else laced in his words. You looked out the window as Eddie drove through the heavy traffic leaving the high school. It was one of the many pains in his ass when he picked you up from the games. But he was willing to do it for you.
“Maybe he’s changed. He’s been graduated two years now.”, you defended, looking back at Eddie.
Eddie huffed in response before laughing sarcastically. “Guys like Harrington don’t change, sweetheart.”
You rolled your eyes at Eddie’s response, feeling yourself becoming increasingly agitated. He was really one to talk considering he had made that statement about Chrissy. You were holding back saying anything about her.
“You don’t know that, Eddie.”

Season 1 Songs in Chronological order of release
A couple of things
Duplicates were eliminated
Broadway songs were done by when the show premiered
A few of the songs are the release dates of the versions popularized by other artists - such as Over the Rainbow - to reflect the artists they chose to emulate

Question: For your Lumon and Jam playlist, can you go through the songs and explain to me why you have them? I'm curious <3
(Also can I send more playlist related questions?)
You can absolutely send me more playlist related questions and this was a fun question! Okay!
Jam:
A rodar mi vida (Original Version) - Self explanatory
Halo/Walking on sunshine (Glee cover mashup) - Honestly glee covers always reminds me of DCLA characters and ships in general. In this song, the girls who sing are like. High asf. Here's the music video. It reminded me of something Jim and Yam especially would perform on Open.
You can't stop the beat (Glee cover) - Well it's upbeat and it just gives me Jam vibes ok
A rodar mi vida (SL cover) - Self explanatory
I wanna dance with somebody (Glee cover) - the Glee cover especially because there's two girls singing
Take on the world - Well, the GMW theme song. GMW is about two crazy besties.
Hand in my pocket/I feel the earth move (Glee cover mashup) - WOW I HAVE SO MANY GLEE COVERS. Anyway watch the performance and you will see why it reminds me of Jam.
A rodar mi vida (version acustica) - Self explanatory
I kissed a girl (Glee cover) - THE GLEE COVER HAS TWO GIRLS SINGING A DUET OK
Yes, I do (Yam's cover) - Self explanatory
Paper Rings - Just reminds me of Jam yk
You Happened - I HAVE AN ANIMATED AMV IN MY HEAD WHERE LUTTEO AND GASTINA ASK EACH OTHER OUT FOR PROM, SIMBAR JUST GOES TO MAKE OUT IN A CLOSET AND THEN JIM AND YAM SING ABOUT FINALLY COMING OUT AT PROM
Better when i'm dancin - Can't really explain, just vibes
Better in stereo - Well I think this also explains itself
Tell him (Glee cover) - Seems like something they would perform on open idk
Bop to the top - THEY WERE 100% HSM GIRLS GROWING UP. PROBABLY LEARNED ALL THE DANCES. Also I heard there's an argentiean version of HSM they made into a movie?? Plus a mexican one aswell?? What if they grew up with those instead of the american-
Tengo una cancion - The one (1) Bia song I've liked (besides Vale Vale) and I just put it everywhere that fitted lol
A dancer's heart - Feels like something Jim would perform for Yam or vice versa really
Junto a ti - BESTIES SONG
A cautionary tale - THE AMOUNT OF DCLA DUOS WHO WOULD SING A CAUTIONARY TALE IS A LOT, AND JIM AND YAM IS ONE OF THEM
Girls just wanna have fun - Yeah. Yeah...
Diggiloo Diggiley (english version) - Def a song they would perform k
-
Lumon:
At first there's 4 SL songs and they are all self explanatory.
Lucky (Glee cover) - LUCKY I'M IN LOVE WITH MY BEST FRIEND
We are the champions - They would sing this together
Don't stop believing (Glee cover) - This has one boy and one girl singing and they would sing this
Loser like me - Describes their vibes. They are just being themselves and anyone who dislikes them for that is just jealous
Any way you want it/Lovin' touchin' Squeezin' (Glee cover mashup) - Ok Glee LOVES mashups, if you haven't seen that show, and anyway this is totally something they would sing
Double Trouble - describes them
Dancing in the moonlight - their slowdance song totally
Chirpy chirpy cheep cheep - Just a silly lil song they would sing together
Love love peace peace - Another silly song they would sing together this is just the songs Lumon sings on their karaoke night I feel like hshshsh
You've got a friend in me - Yeah, explains itself
When can I see you again? - Them after they say goodbye like every day
Jaja ding dong - feels like a song they would sing as kids when they didn't know english that well and just thought it was funny
gotta go my own way - I bet they love hsm too and they always mimicked to this song
La dee dee - good vibes, good them
Best friend - YOU DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH THIS SONG FEELS LIKE THEM. I FEEL LIKE THEY SANG THIS. I FEEL LIKE THEY LIVED THIS. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I'll be there for you - Yeah <3
What makes you beautiful - Simón @ Luna

just new
On Saturday, after the Doyles’ Memorial Day barbecue, Will heads back to that old familiar house. Sam’s not working today, and they’ve got the whole living room to themselves. For the two of them, that always means the same thing – lying flat on the carpet, listening to music as loud as they can. It’s all they need. Today, it’s Journey. Evolution. “Lovin’, Touchin’, Squeezin’.” A damn classic, as Sam keeps saying. All they need is a damn classic.
“You know, I think I hate Henry,” Sam says.
Will snorts, amused.
“Preaching to the choir, man,” he says.
“Not just because Lucy used to have a half-assed crush on him, though that is pretty weak. No, I mean … Henry couldn’t just lie here and listen to Journey and have a good time with it. He’d need to sneak into Uncle Jim’s liquor cabinet if he even wanted to start to like music. Look at us. We don’t need to sneak into my dad’s liquor cabinet to get why this is good.”
“Your dad doesn’t have a liquor cabinet. He has Rolling Rock in the fridge, maybe, and we don’t even try to drink it.”
“It doesn’t taste good. I don’t like beer. I like Coke.”
“Did you like it before or after they took out the cocaine?”
Sam rolls his eyes, and Will laughs. It’s not much of a joke, but it’s the kind of joke Will would make. He thinks that’s a good sign. Anything to sound like his old self. Anything to feel like his old self. God knows he feels different now, which is the problem. God knows.
“Well, either way,” Sam says. “I think we’re cooler than Henry. We don’t feel the need to express our masculinity through pep rallies and team sports. We don’t pretend like we don’t like Star Wars, except for that time in seventh grade, when we pretended we didn’t like Star Wars.”
“A dark time for the Rebellion,” Will says.
Sam nods very wisely.
“You understand,” he says. “But more than anything … I think we really get art. We listen to music. We watch way more movies than Henry. You know I think the only movie he’s ever seen is Brian’s Song?”
“Isn’t that a TV movie?”
“Yes, which is so much worse. He can’t even go to the movies. He just sits at home and watches commercial breaks. What a waste. What a waste.”
Sam sits up a little and listens closely to the song on the stereo.
It won’t be long, yes, till you’re alone / When your lover, oh, he hasn’t come home …
He smiles and nods along with the lyrics and the groove.
“I feel like when a song comes on, people like you and me, we know what to do with it,” he says. “I feel like we get it. And I’m not just saying that because last time we listened to this album, we counted all the ‘Na-na-na-na-na-na’s’ at the end. We get it. We get art.”
“I slept with Lucy last night.”
Sam sits up even straighter, and Will reluctantly sits up to join him. They look each other in the eye, and Sam looks like he’s either impressed or ready to vomit. Will doesn’t know why he hopes it’s a little of both.
“Keep talkin’, whoa, keep talkin’,” Sam says. “Did I hear that right?”
Will nods awkwardly.
“Yeah,” he says. “I slept with Lucy. Last night.”
Sam laughs a little, like he still can’t quite believe what he’s hearing. He looks at Will like he’s Plan 9 from Outer Space, and Will feels like he might rather die.
“Well,” Sam says, wishing he wouldn’t struggle through this conversation. “When you … when you say that … do you really mean?”
“Yes,” Will says. “Yes, I mean I had sex with Lucy.”
He feels the color rise to his cheeks. In the eighteen hours since his first time, he’s been thinking of the word sex and almost nothing else. But it’s like he feels the need to say it now, like if he doesn’t say it, then it didn’t really happen. It’s only as real as your best friend’s response, he thinks. The moment is one thing, but the day after – that’s where you find out who you really are.
Sam laughs, but it’s one of those stymied laughs, like the kind you let out when everything’s so much, you don’t have any other way to respond. It sounds like he got the wind knocked out of him, and Will feels his blood begin to boil.
“Well, if you’re just gonna laugh at me …” Will says, and Sam puts a kind hand on his shoulder. Will turns his head and smiles, just a little.
“Hey, I’m not laughing at you,” Sam says. “I mean … I mean I guess I am, but it’s not because … I just didn’t see it coming, that’s all. But if Lucy did …”
“Shut up, Sam.”
Sam smiles, and Will can’t help but smile back. It’s just like Sam to make a joke out of the biggest thing that’s ever happened to Will. He doesn’t realize it until a little later, but Will wouldn’t have it any other way.
“I don’t know why you’re acting so surprised,” Will says. “It’s not like you haven’t done it before. And we both remember when Daniel came back from his date with Melissa Kaminski last year.”
Sam shakes his head wistfully.
“I learned words that day I didn’t think existed,” he says.
“Yeah, but it’s not new anymore,” Will says. “I was the last of us. It should be … I don’t know, it should be old news by now, right?”
Sam shrugs.
“Sure, maybe,” he says. “I don’t know. I just wasn’t expecting it from you.”
“Well, what were you expecting?” Will asks. “That I was gonna die like Joan of Arc?”
“No. Just … I don’t know, you and Lucy … you struck me as the kind of couple who would wait until you got married or until she got her Ph.D. or something crazy like that.”
“Well, we’re not. It was last night. And … I don’t know, if she wants to do it again, I think … I don’t know, it’s probably going to be sooner rather than later.”
Sam smiles, but Will can tell it’s bullshit. He just doesn’t know why. Meanwhile, in Sam’s head, he’s screaming. In Sam’s head, he’s in seventh grade, in love with Will, and terrified by it. His mother always said that no matter who you fell in love with for the rest of your life, you’d always have a crush on somebody from when you were young. For Sam, that’s always going to be Will.
He’s not sure how he feels about that.
“Will?”
“What?”
“How do you feel?”
Will laughs and slowly lies down again. He stares up at the ceiling and thinks about Lucy – not last night, necessarily, just in general. Overall. She’s the most beautiful girl in the world. He grins just at his mind’s eye.
“Pretty good,” Will says. “Scared outta my mind, but … I don’t know, man, pretty good, too. It’s both. You know?”
Sam nods. He felt the same way earlier this year, with Steph. He wanted to talk to Will about it and chose not to. He was just too worried Will wouldn’t understand.
“I’m just scared she’s going to decide she never wants to talk to me again,” Will says. “It’s not like … it’s not like I’m afraid she didn’t like it, even though I am. It’s more like … it was so different, Sam. It was more different than anything I’ve ever done or been in or seen and I … I don’t want her to hate me just because it was different. She already said she needed to do something so she could go and feel normal. And what if that means she can’t look me in the eye again? What if that means she wants to break up? I love her, and I don’t want … I don’t want it.”
He sits up, and before he can make sense of the world from up there, Sam throws his arms around him and hugs him tightly. It takes Will a second before he hugs back. Slowly, he starts to feel a little more like himself. A little more normal.
“You’re gonna be alright,” Sam says, and he means it. “It’s just new.”
Will sits with those words for a little while. It’s just new. He’s not sure what to do with them, but he’s glad they’re there. Maybe when he sees Lucy later, he’ll say the same thing to her.
