Have some Dazzling kids!

So some of you may know that in my @ask-sonata-dusk universe, The Dazzlings, being immortal human-siren hybrids, have lived for centuries. Throughout these centuries, they have become mothers numerous times, resulting in many offspring. While all three have had more children than those depicted here, these are the ones I have managed to illustrate so far. I intend to present a lot more content related to the Dazzling offspring in the future.

A brief description for all of them under the cut:

Adagio Dazzle's Kids (First picture)

Darling Place Holder Name (Ancient Greece) - She bears a striking resemblance to her mother in appearance, yet their personalities are quite distinct, much to her mother's dismay. As a result, Adagio found herself drawn more to Darling's cousin, Oracle Gem, often overlooking Darling throughout her childhood.

Silver Stone Place Holder Name (Ancient Greece) - The older twin brother of Silver Shield was a young boy full of adventure and energy. Ironically, he grew up to become a Craftsman.

Silver Shield Place Holder Name (Ancient Greece) - The younger twin brother of Silver Stone, he was an average, fun-loving child, albeit somewhat more reserved than Stone. Ironically, he grew up to become a soldier.

Sonata Dusk's Kids (second and third pictures)

Oracle Gem (Ancient Greece) - Regarded as a "gem" of her era, she blossomed into a woman of great beauty and admiration, ultimately becoming betrothed to a ruler. Although she maintained care and respect for her mother, she shared a close bond with Adagio, considering they're very similar in personality.

Bright Mind (Birth Name: Moonlight Spark) (Great Britain, 1800's) - The oldest of the triplets. From a young age, was a remarkably intelligent boy who was recognized as a prodigy. He ultimately pursued a career in medicine and became a doctor.

Golden Age (Birth Name: Golden Belle) (Great Britain, 1800's) - The middle sibling of the triplets and Sonata's only daughter at that time. A remarkably beautiful young woman dedicated her brief life to assisting her peers and close friends, including her girlfriend.

Midnight Menace (Birth Name: Midnight Cresent) (Great Britain, 1800's) - The youngest triplet, possibly the favorite of Sonata, was a boy who held admiration for his mother yet despised his birth father. Although he once pursued a career in nursing, unlike his brother, he ultimately followed a dark and ominous path.

Aria Blaze's Kids (forth, fifth and sixth pictures)

Glory Vine Placeholder Name (Ancient Greece) - The older twin sister of Spartan, she was generally a tolerable person among her peers but was more honest and outspoken around her loved ones. Due to her wit, she ultimately left her home to pursue a life as a traveling merchant.

Spartan Devine (Ancient Greece) - The younger twin brother of Glory was a charming individual, well-liked by his peers, yet he possessed an air of confidence that bordered on cockiness. He was renowned as one of the finest soldiers in his town.

Sandy Flurry (Birth Name: Sandy May)  (Old West/1860s - 1890s) - The younger sister of Hightail, she was a spirited and compassionate girl who became one of her town's renowned cowgirls. Unfortunately, an injury led to her early retirement, after which she became a teacher.

Dynamite Dash (Birth Name: Hightail Dusty)  (Old West/1860s - 1890s) - Sandy's older brother, though he was kind-hearted and generally well-intentioned, he was known for standing firm in his beliefs. He often acted impulsively and could be somewhat brash. A celebrated cowboy like his sister, he specialized in explosives, earning the nickname "Dynamite Dash."

Jazz Flame (America, 1980's) - The older brother of Jam is an actor who has starred in numerous movies and shows during his prime. Although he has not retired, his pace has slowed down lately.

Jam Blitz (America, 1980's) -The younger sibling of Jazz, renowned as a musician, frequently performed in nightclubs during his heyday.

Why I dislike Equestria Girls

When the first few Equestria Girls movies came out, it held promise for the franchise. With the introduction and development of reformed villain Sunset Shimmer, the introduction of the Dazzlings, and the ongoing plot of Equestrian magic leaking into the human world.

Now, this isn’t to say that Equestria Girls was perfect. Transforming the main aspects of the mane six’s personalities to fit high school tropes never felt 100% right. But the premise behind EQG and the plot was interesting enough that it was worth following in the beginning.

As time went on, however, it became clear that the writers had no clear direction for the plot nor any lore nor explanation for the rogue magic in the human world. I understand that many magic systems in kids’ shows do not have well explained magic systems, but the writers didn’t even seem like they were even trying. After a while it just seemed that the original plot was dropped and the problem of magic appearing in the human world was never resolved.

Instead, they kept on expanding the cause of magic in the human world. At first, the explanation was that Sunset Shimmer brought magic into the human world by bringing the element of magic into a non-magical world. After the events of Legend of Everfree, they showed the cracked portal connecting the two worlds as an explanation for the magic leakage. This plot point was was also dropped, and from then, we kept on seeing random portal’s leading to Equestria and magical artifacts accidentally fallen into the human world. While these plot points were intriguing at first, none of our questions were ever answered.

Even the movies lost there shine. From The Friendship Games onward, the framing of every movie became repetitive: regular human stumbles across magical artifact. They use artifact to harm Sunset Shimmer/Hugh school students/innocent bystanders. Humane 7 pony up and laser beam the villain, making them become immediately remorseful.

I do not know if there was a change in staff during the airing of Equestria Girls, or if the writers themselves became bored with the story that they were creating, but the plot of EQG clearly lost its direction, and became boring as a result. And the tragedy is, they had many established characters to push the story along instead of creating multiple new characters for each episode. Which leads me to…

The Dazzlings.

Whether you agree with those of us who feel that the Dazzlings had the potential for redemption, or not, there is no denying that they were underused and wasted. Instead of creating random humans attempting to use magic that they didn’t understand for every plot, imagine if they had the Dazzlings, three Ancient Equestrian beings that understands how Equestrian magic works, stumble across Equestrian magic and use it to get revenge on the Rainbooms? Wouldn’t that be much for interesting then creating many original characters that have no plot importance nor are ever seen again (with the exception of Juniper Montage and the Crystal Prep girls).

What makes the Dazzlings do appealing to many fans, I think, are their distinct personalities. Sonata Dusk is the goofy one, Aria Blaze is the serious one, and Adagio Dazzle is the scheming, unquestioned, leader. There is so much that could have been done with their characters given what we know of them. FIM, the IDW Legends comics, and fanfiction writers have done more with the Dazzlings than Equestria Girls ever did. They only appeared in the Time Twirler episode as red herrings and for fan service. Clearly, the only purpose that the EQG writers had for them was to make Sunset Shimmer look good.

Now, the final problem that I want to discuss, is this: The elements of Harmony. Yes, I already discussed the lack of explanation for equestrian magic running rampant in the human world, but now, I want to discuss the bearers of elements of harmony. It is established and confirmed in FIM that the bearers of the elements of harmony is meant to be a group of six friends. However, for the sake of inducting Sunset Shimmer into the friend group, they make her a seventh element bearer.

Now, Sunset Shimmer is one of my favorite characters and I enjoy her development throughout the EQG franchise. I love it when shows are willing to be flexible enough to expand the core friend groups. But I don’t like how they messed with the lore of the elements of harmony, just to carve out a path for Sunset. We learn in the FIM season 7 finale, “Shadow Play”, that the Pillars of Equestria created the elements of harmony. Again, a group of six ponies. This lore is only confirmed further in the IDW comics that start on the first day of Twilight’s reign over Equestria, where Twilight’s friends discover trees of harmony that are also channeled by a group of six friends.

According to the director of Equestria Girls, the elements of harmony in the human world have a seventh element that Equestria’s element of harmony doesn’t have. But this explanation is not enough. The human world had no magic before Sunset Shimmer entered it. The Elements of Harmony are native to the world that Equestria is located in. There is no reason as to why the human world would have a seventh element except one: to include Sunset Shimmer in the friend group. This yet again shows how Equestria Girls was written without any thought to its parent media or any serious plot.

In conclusion, Equestria Girls was a spin off of Friendship is Magic and incorporated many similar themes. But as the franchise continued, it became clear that the similarities between FIM and Equestria Girls were only surface level, and no real thought nor care was put into Equestria Girls to honor FIM, nor to uphold the plot that they set up as the premise of the franchise.

Hey, I'm Mary and this is my headcanon/redesigns of the main characters of My Little Pony. I was inspired by the ever talented x-vintage--owl-x. Twilight is based off Vintage-Owl's headcanon of Twilight's father being part bat pony and that her transformation into an alicorn made those part of her DNA be more protenant and I say that Twilight's mother was a regular unicorn. Applejack is a big normal earth pony. Rainbow Dash is a half siren, half Pegasus, her father being a pure Pegasus while her mother is a pure Siren. The idea of Windy Whistles being a siren who disguises herself as a Pegasus came to me while rewatching the episode with Rainbow Dash's parents and while I was half asleep. One thing came to another in my brain and before I knew it the idea of Windy Whistle being a siren in disguise was stuck in my brain and thus why Rainbow Dash is now half Siren in my headcanon. (Oh, by the way, Rainbow Dash and her father know that Windy is a Siren, but they help keep Windy's true identity a secret because Sirens are still seen as Evil thanks to the Dazzlings. Also Windy Whistle is the Sister to Sonata Dusk.) Rarity is part Crystal Pony, her mother being a descendant of crystal ponies before the Crystal empire disappeared because of Sombra with the prominent Crystal gene in Rarity's mom and Rarity, and her father being a normal unicorn. The dark blue-ish markings on Rarity's back and ears represent the left over contamination of her body when she turned into Nightmare Rarity. (Yes, I will sometimes use the comics for characters, but I won't use the comic's cannon to dictate my plot since I see the comics as more a side-cannon. I will use things like Nightmare Rarity and characters like King Aspen, however, I'm not the biggest fan of the comics idea of Luna's turn into Nightmare Moon being responsible because of Nightmare creatures. So in my headcanon Rarity was turned into Nightmare Rarity due to the magic of Nightmare Moon still being around like what the episode Castle-Mania said, although, it was a shame they never came back to that concept in the mlp show itself. Anyway, onto the rest of the headcanon.) Fluttershy is part deer, part bat-pony. Her mother being a deer princess who is the sister of King Aspen, and her father being a regular bat pony.(I agree to the headcanon that Nightmare moon created the bat ponies and that there was more to Nightmare Moon's brief reign before Celestia put her on the moon, we just didn't see it because of the episode's time restraints.) Also, the vampire bat situation made Fluttershy act more bat like than deer like. And Pinkie is a regular Earth Pony with her family and about a third of Earth ponies having a similar lifestyle to the Romani. Sadly, I only have head pieces of the ponies. Full body versions will come soon. (By the by, this part of my new Mlp Next Geneartion series. I am discontinuing my other mlp next gen kids, sorry to anyone who wanted me to continue them.)
