Does anyone else have a really hard time settling on what perspective to write a fic from?
First person perspective is by far the easiest to me to write from, and the one I enjoy, but it feels so...embarrassingly personal if a fic is spicy, especially if particularly graphic. I almost never see explicit fics written in FPP, probably because other people also feel it shamefully intimate. I find this unfortunate.
Second person is not too hard to write in, but I also see very few fics in SPP, so I don't know that people like this very much (granted I don't do the [y/n] thing because that's hella unimmersive).
Then there's third person perspective, which is by far the most common, but my least favorite to tackle for two reasons: 1) it makes me actually choose pronouns for an OC, and 2) it requires me to actually materialize an OC. (Odd complaint, I know. I'm just not good at it anymore, and I'm afraid any OC is just going to turn out to be a self insert anyways.)
Words of wisdom? Encouragement? Anyone struggle with this decision as well?
