Time for time travel deep cut
All of Deep Cut is experiencing dreams of the future! They are dreaming of different parts though, with a few that overlap. They barely remember the dreams, it’s a fleeting sensation they are unable to chase.
Unfortunately, the day that everyone got rewinded to, was one that Shiver was incredibly sick. Big Man and Frye completely ignored their dreams in favour of making sure Shiver doesn’t get even more sick. The dreams were being forgotten quickly anyways.
Shiver is just experiencing a shit show of a fever dream full of nonsensical points that make no sense. Like what is a bear, why is there a rocket?? Why is the bear on the rocket??? Suddenly Deep Cut gets a new boss, who even is that, why is there so much fuzz everywhere. This dream sucks, there’s a big feeling of impending doom.
Shiver ends up being the only one who can remember their dreams past the usual dream forgetting time. Except none of them make sense with the knowledge they have now, so it’s dismissed as a leftover affect from that really bad fever they had. All the knowledge they gain is nonsensical. They ignore the fact that fever dreams do not normally persist after the fever is gone.
Fryes dreams include more chill and positive moments. getting their first album recorded, successfully stealing ancient human artifacts from ruins for the first time, meeting the squid sisters outside of a secret military operation. She however quickly forgets the dream besides a keyword like: album, bandit, or military.
Big Man dreams of more serious moments. Like taxes, arguments, learning about what Grizzco is trying to do. He is left with a single still image of the dream, nothing more. He is the one who manages to recognize people from the dreams, it confuses him greatly.
At some point they all discuss their dreams. They manage to price together that somehow it’s all connected through overlapping dreams. They start to figure out what’s going on, but don’t have the full picture until they see a young inkling with yellow ink run full speed away from them, they do the only normal thing and chase the inkling down, corner them, and start asking questions. Then immediately realize that this is weird and apologize.

Congress quickly passed a food purity law (the 1906 Federal Meat Inspection Act), and union organizing drives sparked nationwide contract bargaining that eventually gave long-oppressed meatpacking workers the clout to improve factory conditions and pay. Indeed, by 1970, the Amalgamated Meat Cutters and the United Packinghouse Union had won enforceable safety rules and solid middle-class wages — about $25 an hour in today’s dollars. Now the median wage for hourly workers in meatpacking plants is down to about half that — $13.23 per hour — some 30% less than production workers in other manufacturing jobs. Around 1970, just when working families, consumers, environmentalists and others were making real progress against corporate powers, the baronies of industry and high finance initiated a radical counteroffensive. A century ago, Sinclair condemned the “unspeakable” practices that went on in “packing houses all the time.” But today’s conditions would leave him no less appalled. While unions and other reformers have set higher standards for cleanliness and safety, there’s a big difference between what’s put on paper and what actually occurs. Progress in standards, it turns out, has been efficiently canceled out by the sheer enormity of today’s facilities; the massive volume of animals slaughtered and butchered day and night; and the treacherous work speeds corporate bosses demand.
