hello friends !! the name’s anna and i reside in est !! i am but a simple exhausted law student who is so excited to get to writing with you all. under the cut is some more info about my darling ava. hit the heart if you’re interested in plotting !! 

BACKGROUND & GENERAL INFO !

-  ava is the daughter of two hardworking, working class parents. she grew up in brompton, ontario, the middle child, sandwiched between the golden child older brother, who got a full athletic scholarship to uni, and the youngest, sheltered child who, although the leung family didn’t have much spare money hanging around, tended to get most everything she wanted. -  she’s had the value of a dollar instilled in her from a young age and got her first job at fourteen, as a bus girl at the small bistro owned by her uncle. from then on, she always held a series of odd jobs -- babysitter, dog walker, whatever it is, she would do it. that still holds true to this day. she holds a part time job at a coffee shop that’s popular with the somers student body. before she enrolled at somers, she was a barista as well for a few years (as well as doing other odd jobs along the way too), not even sure that uni was the right fit for her.  - truth be told, she hasn’t led much of an exciting life. ava is one who tends to sit on the sidelines rather than jump into the action. she lives vicariously through the books she reads and the stories she writes.  - during that time before uni, when she was working at a coffee shop in her hometown, she not only started living through the lives she’d read about in books, but started delving into vivid fantasies of those she observed throughout the day, inventing entire detailed histories for them, storied dynamics, and epic tales of where their lives might lead. - it wasn’t before long that ava started writing these stories down. at first, it was simply a journal, but this turned into a much greater project. - she submitted her first short story to a local magazine anonymously and didn’t think anything would come of it, too scared to attach her name to her first significant piece of work. to her shock, next month, it was printed on it’s pages.  - it was then that ava started thinking that maybe she wanted something more --- which led her to somers. the creative writing program was sensational and she could see herself thriving in the environement. and upon her arrival to somers, she did just that. at least, academically speaking. - socially, still, she’s still quite reserved, however. during her first year she still managed to keep quite to herself, although she did make friends in classes and through some extracurriculars. she’s more of a watcher than a participator.  - she’s kind of an idealist, though, the type of girl with her head always in the clouds. honestly, she has the potential to have someone bring her crashing back down to earth so hehe we could make that happen.

FUN FACTS ! 

- absolutely anyone and everyone she meets ( or even just sees ) has the possibility of ending up in one of her stories. sometimes she does a good job covering up the true identity of her subjects, but other times --- well, it can be kind of obvious. - she’s a cozy queen tbh, she’s v fond of sweaters, jeans, nothing too flashy really. she doesn’t like to stand out.  - she’s very much an insomniac. she’s always been tbh. now, she stays up all hours working on her writing, or school work, or whatever else there is to do.  - she’s got a huge book collection, and most of her drawers are full of books and not clothes ( what ? she ran out of room on her shelves ! ) - she prefers to write on her laptop, but always keeps a small notebook and pen with her at all times in case inspiration strikes.  - also her pinterest is here :)

ABOUT CALLUM

Hockey player. On that athlete’s grind. 🏃‍♂️💪💯🏒 Dreams of playing for a team on the NHL one day. Partial to the Canucks because he hates himself.🤙

Speaking of being on that grind, he off alcohol and doesn’t do drugs so he’s like the perpetual designated driver. RIP, would punch a person for a cold beer tho.

Quiet, laidback type. Nice enough if you talk to him but otherwise easily irritated by noisy and/or obnoxious people. Will try to make his eye roll audible to get you to shut up around him if he thinks you’re being too loud.

Has a wee bit of an aggression problem?? Just a teensy bit. Can let most things slide because he believes he’s #grown now but usually if it’s about his family or friends, he can snap and go ape shit.

Trying to be more woosah about things now though because it’s his third year, he’s trying to be more serious about getting recruited. He doesn’t want to do anything to jeopardize his career before its even started.

Goes to therapy once a week to be more woosah but doesn’t tell anyone because he thinks it makes him weak. Usually lies and says he has a date with some chick he met on Tinder. Is someone suffering from toxic masculinity or what, amirite?

FUN FACTS

His little sister went missing 8 years ago at a carnival and he feels like it’s his fault even though he was just a kid himself when it happened. Growing up, he’s overcompensated by being extremely protective of his friends/family.

Doesn’t drink or do drugs but is notorious for eating like a beast. Can kill a large slice of pizza in 3 bites. He’s got that Matt Stoney chomp and his meals lowkey look like a 10,000 calorie YouTube challenge.

His mom sometimes calls him ‘Xiong’ as a nickname. It means ‘bear’. Surprisingly, it has nothing do to with the fact that he’s 6′2″ and has a very deep voice, but has everything to do with the fact that Brother Bear (2003) was his little sister’s favorite movie and she used to call him ‘brother bear’ or ‘bear’ when she was still around. 🥺

He deadass cannot watch that movie. That movie to him is like what garlic or sunlight is to vampires. He can’t even make eye contact with the poster.

9 times out of 10 is wearing a cap because he can’t be fucked to do his hair. Most times he wears it front-facing, only wears it backwards when he’s working out or at home studying (yes, he wears caps indoors).

luci  was  born  to  a  single  mother  ,  father  having  more  or  less abandoned  their  mom  once  he  found  out  about  the  pregnancy.  she  was  young  ,  just  nineteen  and  terrified  about  having  to  raise  a  child  on  her  own.  luckily  ,  her  friends  were  more  than  happy  to  help  ,  after  all  ,  it  does  take  a  village.

they  grew  up  a  ‘  gifted  kid  ’  ,  entering  poetry  competitions  and  submitting  works  to  poetry  journals  and  even  getting  them  published.  unfortunately  ,  at  the  start  of  highschool  ,  their  mother  fell very  ill  so  they  neglected  school  work  to  take  care  of  her.

this  continued  until  past  college  ,  until  finally  she  began  to  feel  much  better  unexpectedly.  she  urged  luci  to  go  to  college  ,  so  they  applied  for  somers  since  it  didn’t  seem  difficult  to  get  into  with  the  grades  they  had  and  it’s  not  too  far  from  home  just  in  case.  there  was  a  fight  where  they  wanted  to  stay  at  home  and  commute  ,  but  she’s  making  luci  dorm  for  ‘  the  full  college  experience  ’  &  so  they  stop  worrying  about  her

right  now  ,  they’re  adamant  on  finishing  writing  their  horror  novel  or  at  least  a  few  of  their  short  horror  stories.  luci  won’t  admit  it  ,  but  they’re  much  better  at  writing  romance  ,  it  comes  more  easily  to  them.  they  have  a  few  unpublished  finished  short  romance  stories  targeted  to  the  new  adult  demographic  that  they’re  debating  sending  in  under  an  alias.

PERSONALITY     :     

easy  going  ,  fun  ,  loud.  behaves  like  an  extrovert  but  needs  a  lot  of  time  alone  to  recharge.

you  will  never  see  them  without  headphones  or  their  journal.

tries  really  hard  to  give  off  that  edgy  e-boy  look  but... it’s  really  just  a  facade  and  you  can  tell  it  is  within  1  minute  of  talking  with  them

brief introduction:

born and raised by two brilliant parents. their mother has worked a tech recruiter for several years, companies use her services as a way to help expand their employee portfolio. her job is to woo anyone that fits the criteria that the company is looking for. and she does a fine job. probably does a little better than her husband. maddox’s father is very much a capable investor, seeking out companies who could possibly bring present generations a step closer to a brighter future. and acknowledging and recognizing that talent, to take a leap of faith for that company, it takes a lot. maybe that’s why their parents work the way that they do. they both find the potential in people

maddox absolutely adores their siblings. they will always think of their siblings as a constellation, even if one is missing, they are not a whole. and they’re a tight knit group. of course, separating to go to different universities was a challenge for them, they’ve managed to find that the ten minute weekly sibling check-in has kept them sane while they are apart

and maybe that’s why maddox is the way that they are. head always in the clouds, dreaming up several different outcomes to problems. they’re always working diligently and trying to conjure up several solutions that may or may not be a bit too outside of the box. he’s a dreamer. even in the strict confines of his major and minor. but to him, you need to have the rigid framework to find ways to work around problems

also has been told that he does not look the part of a physics student. people have always been drawn to the fact that they could have never imagine them to work anywhere near a STEM major. they’d assume that they were a humanities and arts major at best. at first glance, they’re always in some sort of flashy outfit. especially with the bright pink hair and piercings. but don’t let that fool you. maddox can mostly likely be found with their nose in a textbook and working out problems at the library than anywhere else on campus
