not sure if the fandom knows just how poetic having Vasily represented by a snow leopard is, so I made a short comic about it (I deeply regret the rendering style, its also the reason why the style is inconsistent this took me over a week sigh)

Yes I know technically we dont know much about the interactions between snow leopards and lynx and that there probably werent any snow leopards where Vas lived but shh (Also thats his dad not Ilya on the first page, sorry Ilya content wanters)

When Ogata asks for something, he first offers something, like a cat bringing a mouse it caught.

He offers a duck to his mother so she will notice him.

He offers his brother to Tsurumi so he will love him.

He offers a tattooed human skin to Hijikata so he can get hired.

He offers a dried cod to get on the boat; and he offers woodcocks, a reindeer, and a swan to make friends.

The ice floe exchange is so pathetic it's almost laughable, but when Ogata wanted Asirpa to tell him the code, he had nothing and ended up offering the most precious thing he had: the memories of his mother.
