Hey everyone! Today I want to talk about the incredible song "Someone Somewhere in Summertime" by Simple Minds, which to my opinion is one of the most underrated bands in the world, their musical career spans through 4 decades and their sound gets better by every new album they release.

Simple Minds is a Scottish band that was formed in Glasgow in 1977. The band consists of Jim Kerr on vocals, Charlie Burchill on guitar, and a rotating lineup of other talented musicians. Simple Minds quickly rose to fame in the '80s with hits like "Don't You (Forget About Me)" and "Alive and Kicking".

"Someone Somewhere in Summertime" was released in 1982 as a single from their album "New Gold Dream (81-82-83-84)". The song has a dreamy, ethereal quality with shimmering guitars and Jim Kerr's emotive vocals.

The lyrics of the song talk about the fleeting nature of summer, and how even though it's a time of joy and freedom, it's also a time of uncertainty and change. The song is a beautiful reflection on the passing of time and the bittersweet feeling of nostalgia.

Simple Minds got their name from a line in David Bowie's song "Jean Genie"? Bowie sings "He's so simple-minded, he can't drive his module" and the band thought it was a cool name!
