Monday, March 21; 6:30 AM - Dormitory
The atmosphere on this Monday morning is very heavy. It isn't Lucy who came to do the daily check. It seems that information about last night's incident has been escalated higher than expected. It’s crazy how a minor altercation could have such wide-reaching consequences. When I asked Ingrid about it, she said it was beyond her control. Wiegman was apparently notified last night by students who complained, and it seems this has landed Alba in serious trouble. It looks like she’ll be stuck with Lucy all day. I find it excessive, but according to Ingrid, Wiegman wanted to impose a severe punishment on someone who is in their final year. I hadn’t noticed before, but it seems several people witnessed the dispute from behind their windows. Alexia is furious to learn we’ve been spied on like this. Fortunately, nothing serious was revealed. It’s safe to say there’s no point in discussing it with Ale this morning. I didn’t try to stop her when she stormed out of the room this morning. I did make sure to thank Ingrid for the information before we went our separate ways. I was about to join my roommate at that moment, but Misa intercepted me as I was leaving.
"Hey."
"Hi."
She seems really uncomfortable. I think I know why she’s here. We might not get along, but we’re connected by our loved ones who have issues. We witnessed a conversation that should have stayed private. The difference between her and me is that I know the answers to her questions, and she must suspect as much. I abandon the idea of joining Ale to stay with Misa, who looks quite worried.
"People seem pretty excited this morning..." she comments.
I smile sadly. I can tell she’s trying to make small talk. She probably doesn’t know what’s going on. If I know, it’s because I have good relations with the instructors. I nervously run my hand through my hair. If I were in her place, I’d appreciate being informed, so I go ahead.
"Listen, I just learned that Alba’s in serious trouble because of her outburst last night. She’s going to be stuck with Bronze for the day."
"Really?" she asks, surprised. "Damn... How do you know?"
"Uh, Engen. She just informed Ale. She left angry. I was planning to join her."
I congratulate myself on coming up with such a realistic excuse. If we know, it’s only because we hang out with our instructor outside of here.
"This is ridiculous! This situation is going too far!"
"I agree."
"Bronze did this?"
"No, Wiegman was informed. She’s just following orders, I suppose..."
"You seem close with her. Can’t you talk to her?"
"I’d like to, but when the orders don’t come from her, there’s not much she can do."
She bites her lip and shakes her head. She looks distressed. I hope they haven’t planned anything for the weekend because Alba is likely to be stuck here because of this situation.
"Thanks... You’re nicer than I expected."
"Uh, thanks, I guess."
We laugh together. In reality, I’ve never quite known what to make of her. She’s intriguing. She’s always been cold from the start. I was surprised that Alba was dating her, but then again, she must be nicer than we all imagine.
"We didn’t start off well; I’m sorry. I was afraid you might be interested in Alba someday. She’s always shown interest in you since you arrived, whereas I’ve had my eye on her for a long time," she admits.
I smile at her honesty. I suspected her behavior was related to Alba. She used to give me dagger looks every time she saw us laughing together.
"You don’t have to apologize; I understand. She made advances, but I turned her down right from the start. I’m in a situation I’m happy with my girlfriend, and I have no intention of looking elsewhere. So you can be at ease."
She nods again. I can tell she’s holding back questions.
"Go on, it’s my day of charity, so ask me the questions that are bothering you."
"Oh no—"
"Yes, I insist," I giggle. "Take advantage of it, it doesn’t happen every day."
"No, I was just thinking that you’re close with Ale. Alba really values your friendship. She thought Alexia was very lonely before you came."
"That’s true. We’ve become very close."
"She must confide in you a lot."
I smile, understanding where she’s going with this.
"Yes. I know everything that’s going on, but it’s not my place to say."
"Do you know her girlfriend?"
"Yes. I’ve seen her before. She’s from Manchester."
"Yes, Alba knows that, but she doesn’t know who knows, and I think that’s what’s bothering her. She realizes it’s serious and she doesn’t know if the girl is decent."
"She’s good for her, I can assure you. She’s the love of her life. If Alexia doesn’t reveal her identity, it’s because she’s afraid Alba won’t accept her. It would be a disaster for her; she’s only known her sister as family before her girlfriend and me."
"I see..."
"Well, you know what? Try to pass on this message to her before tonight so she can calm down. As for me, I’ll go see Bronze to see if I can change her mind about the confrontation tonight."
"I don’t think you’ll manage. They almost fought last night because of Alba. She’s out of control when she’s angry, and I doubt Bronze will let this discussion go on without a mediator."
"You think?"
"Definitely. Negotiate our presence at the meeting instead. Maybe our presence will reassure them."
She’s probably right. Lucy won’t risk leaving them alone after last night. I’ll need to persuade her not to repeat anything to Jenni then.
"Okay," I sigh. "We’ll go with that."
"Cool... Thanks for your help."
"You don’t have to thank me. I’m doing it for Alexia. But it was nice talking to you."
She gives me a shy smile in response. I think I might have at least managed to bury the hatchet with this conversation, so that’s a win.
"If you want to know, I was a bit annoyed that you managed to be so well-connected in such a short time. You hadn’t done anything to make friends, yet you were the center of everyone’s attention when you arrived. I never figured out how you did it," she laughs.
"It’s thanks to Ale that I got into the group. That’s why I owe her so much. As for the attention from other students, I could have done without it, you know," I giggle.
"Not surprising," she laughs. "It must have been really overwhelming."
"Yeah, but it’s all over now, and that’s a relief."
"People eventually get used to everything," she finishes with a shrug.
I nod and open the door to the cafeteria.
"Want to eat with us?" I offer.
"I’d love to, thanks."
"Just don’t expect a good atmosphere. I’ve never seen Ale in such a foul mood."
She laughs, saying she wouldn’t expect anything different given the situation. I really hope everything gets resolved quickly.
Monday, March 21; 1:45 PM - Classroom Building
I make my way through the students heading to their classes as I head to Lucy’s office. I haven’t had the chance to see or speak with her yet. However, just seeing her from afar with a tense expression and Alba slumped on the table at noon makes it clear that their morning wasn’t the most glorious.
-   Bronze,   I call out as she’s about to close the door to her office.
I see her frown before spotting me in the crowd. She relaxes and lets me in before shutting the door. Before I can say a word, I find myself pressed against the door with her lips on mine. I cling to her hair, but it’s quickly interrupted by a throat clearing. I blush seeing Ingrid in the room, but Lucy doesn’t seem bothered, sighing into my neck. Her friend watches us with a small amused smile while I am mortified. I don’t particularly enjoy public displays, but I endure it knowing Lucy needs affection right now. I don’t even dare to ask the question I came for, fearing it might upset her.
-   Can we just go back to the weekend?   she murmurs.
I laugh, running my hand through her hair and kissing her temple.
-   I’d like that too.
-   Tell me you’re here to explain all this nonsense. Alba didn’t want to tell me anything, no matter how much I tried to break her this morning.
I raise an eyebrow. I expected her to figure it out herself.
-   What?
-   I thought you’d understand. Alba was worried because we came back just before the scheduled time. Since it had never happened before, she thought she was never coming back. She knows Ale is seeing someone, but she doesn’t know who it is.
-   Oh... Is this all because she doesn’t know about Jenni? It’s absurd.
-   Well, I’d be annoyed too if Joan didn’t tell me who he’s seeing. Can you imagine the worry she must have if she hadn’t come back?
She sighs and steps back. I understand she might not get it since she doesn’t have siblings, but I do.
-   And so what? I’m not going to force Alexia to reveal Jenni’s identity.
-   I spoke with Misa this morning,   I say, raising her eyebrow.   We’d like to be present tonight. At least we can help ease the atmosphere. I can’t see Alexia until tonight, so I won’t have time to talk to her before then.
-   Okay,   she sighs.   Let’s do that. Now I’ll walk you to class,   she says, checking her watch.   You’re late after all.
-   It’s not a big deal.
-   It will be if he doesn’t accept you. You won’t get your weekend if Wiegman is in a bad mood.
-   I have Johnson. I’ll just use your charm and we’ll be set.
I give her a wink that makes her roll her eyes with a small smile. She kisses me one last time and waves goodbye to Ingrid. We head towards my classroom. This day feels endless; I can’t wait for it to be over.
  Monday, March 21; 5:15 PM - Lucy’s Office
I’m slouched in a chair in front of Lucy’s desk, waiting for the others to arrive. Misa was the first to come. She chose the chair next to mine to keep the Putellas siblings as far away as possible, just in case. I managed to catch her between classes to tell her to come here after school. Ingrid isn’t here, but I’m not surprised. She never involves herself in problems that don’t concern her unless she has to. Lucy sips her coffee while observing us. Misa, who’s in class with Alba and Ale, let us know she was the first to leave the locker rooms after their sports session. She didn’t want to wait for them because she suspects they’re taking their time.
-   If this keeps up, I’m going to go get them,   my girlfriend says, annoyed.
Just then, there’s a knock on the door. Alexia is the first to enter, closely followed by her brother. You can feel the palpable tension radiating from them. When Ale sees me, she looks surprised at first but then relieved. She immediately sits down next to me.
-   Sorry for the delay,   she says to my girlfriend.
-   No problem. We’re just waiting for you, Alba. I don’t have all day.
Alba clenches her fists and takes the last available seat next to Misa. No one knows how this conversation will end, but Lucy is the one who takes charge, opening the proceedings.
-   Well. We’re finally gathered after a fifteen-minute wait,   she says with a disconcerting calm.   Don’t think I’m thrilled to be here for such a ridiculous matter. What happened yesterday is unacceptable. Private matters should not be exposed like they were yesterday. I won’t force anyone to talk, but if you need to, now is the time. Misa and Ona insisted on being here to support you. We’ll act as mediators if needed. It’s not something that’s offered to you every day.
Her opening statement leads to silence. For a long time, no one dares to speak. Alexia focuses intently on her nails while her sister turns her head away from us. I exchange a look with Misa that says a lot about our thoughts.
-   I don’t understand why you don’t just say who it is,   Alba says very calmly.
Lucy, who has been watching us, leans back in her seat, crossing her arms while making sure to keep her coffee in hand. She’s understood that she’s just started the discussion.
-   Because you always act excessively when it comes to my relationships. I’ve never been able to have a decent friend. Either they ran away because you were too protective, or you made me lose them by making us change schools.
-   Oh, and you think I enjoyed doing that? You have a talent for always picking the wrong people! Most of them weren’t even worth associating with.
-   Excuse me, but I wouldn’t have appreciated someone choosing my friends for me either,  I interject.
-   You have nothing to say,   she snaps at me.   You don’t know what kind of mess we were in. And besides, you’re not exactly good at choosing your friends either!
Lucy sits up at these words. I knew she would defend me, but I didn’t need her to do it.
-   You don’t know anything about my life either! Who do you think you are to judge everyone around you? It’s honorable to want to protect your sister from the world, but we live in a world where suffering is not an option. We all go through tough times, but that doesn’t mean everyone else has to suffer too! Yes, I had a painful past, yes, I struggled to overcome it, but I did it! Alexia is challenging you to show that she’s finally ready to live without you in her life, and you’re having a hard time accepting it, that’s all! You’ll have to face the fact that she’s not the little girl you used to defend at all costs!
My retort surprises her enough to silence her completely. When I catch Lucy’s eye, I notice her smile. I feel proud of myself for managing to say this without stuttering. I’m no longer that defenseless girl who arrived here at the beginning of the year. I’m finally starting to regain my confidence.
-  Ona is right, Ale murmurs.   You’re my sister, and I understand your intentions, but you’re really being a pain. I’ve never regretted following you here, but you really need to stop covering for me. I can make my own decisions now.
-   I’m sorry you feel that way, she sighs.
She stands up, turning his back on us. Our words seem to have affected her more than she wanted. After a moment of reflection, she turns back around.
-   Are you afraid I’ll judge your girlfriend? Does she even exist?
-   Of course she exists. If I’m not telling you who she is, it’s because I fear your reaction.
-   If you say that, then I must know her. Are you back with Laia?
-   Eww, no!
I laugh at the image. It’s true; she did date her. I almost forgot how she no longer hangs out with us much. Ale sighs, casting a glance my way. She’s trying to figure out what to do, but it’s not up to me to decide. So, I shrug.
-   You know her too, Ona?   she suddenly realizes.
-   Well, yes. I thought I had already mentioned that we spend our weekends together lately.
-   With your girlfriend, I assume, she murmurs, staring at my neck.
I turn around, burying my head in my hands. Lucy seems to find this scene amusing, even though it’s all her fault. She seriously needs to calm her bloodlust in the future.
-   Anyway, she grumbles.   If I promise to accept her, would you be willing to introduce her to me? We could have a man-to-man conversation that way.
I roll my eyes. Alexia sighs and, against all odds, surprises everyone by conceding.
-   Her name is Jenni. Jenni Hermoso
I turn to see Alba’s reaction. She doesn’t seem to recognize the name at first. I then remember she doesn’t know the names. There’s a spark in her eyes as she makes the connection.
-   Hermoso ? Instructor Hermoso ?
-   You promised not to get angry,   I remind her.
She takes a deep breath, pinching the bridge of her nose. Everything must have clicked into place in her mind.
-  You were the student who had a relationship with her? Are you kidding me? You let Luna get expelled in your place!?
-  It was her idea,  Alexia defends herself.  She wanted to leave here.
Seeing that she was starting to lose her composure despite her promise not to get angry, I glance at Misa to signal her. It’s her moment to act. She understands the message and stands up.
-  Remember what I told you this afternoon,  Misa says.
-  How can I believe that she’s a good match for her!? She’s much older than she is!
-  Not that much, Lucy replies. Only six years.
We all turn to Lucy. Her expression is cold. It’s clear she will defend her best friend at all costs. Alba turns pale, but the reasons are different from what I expected.
-  A-are you going to tell Wiegman? Alexia will be expelled if you do!
That’s true; I hadn’t considered that option. She doesn’t know that Lucy is my girlfriend.
-  No,  she says.  The matter is closed, and I have no intention of jeopardizing a student’s future at this point in the year.
She nods with relief. We exchange a small, discreet smile. Living our relationship in front of my loved ones is getting increasingly difficult.
-  I want to meet her.
-  I’m not sure that’s a good idea,  Ale comments.
-  Why not? You want me to accept her, don’t you? So, I want to meet her. I want to make sure she takes care of you.
Alexia looks at me with concern. It’s a good idea. I would have suggested that we accompany her for this encounter, but Lucy would never agree. Too many people already know about us, and we can’t risk putting ourselves in more danger. One wrong conversation and everything could be ruined. I still nod gently to confirm that she should agree. She bites her lip and turns to her sister.
-  Okay. But I’m warning you, you better not threaten her or anything. I really care about her, so you better not mess things up. We both know how you can lose your temper over nothing.
-  Yeah, yeah, I’ll try to stay calm,  she mutters.
-  Well, I think that’s settled then.
-  Yes. Thank you, Ale replies.
-  It’s my job. Now, you all better get out of here. I have other work waiting for me.
-  Can I stay? For my homework.
-  If you want, but I won’t have time to help you with your revisions tonight.
-  That’s okay. I was told to slow down, so I’m not sure I’ll be studying tonight.
-  I don’t know who told you that, but it’s very good advice.
I laugh as I get up. The others follow suit and put the two extra chairs back in front of Ingrid’s desk. I tell them I’ll join them once I’m finished here. Unlike me, they are very eager to leave.
-  If you could avoid getting into fights before then, I’d appreciate it.
-  We’ll try,  Alexia replies with amusement.  Have a good evening.
-  Good evening to you too.
They leave, leaving the door open. I would have preferred them to close it, but it’s not a big deal. Lucy is already engrossed in her computer, so I take out my things.
-  That went pretty well, didn’t it?  Lucy asks.
-  Yes, it did. I think it’ll be fine now.
-  Hmm. Alexia realizes we won’t be there for the meeting between the two buddy, right?
I laugh and nod.
-  I think she suspects as much, but I’ll remind her.
-  Good. What a shitty day. You better not make a mistake this week. I don’t want to end up spending my weekend here as well.
-  I’ll try to be on my best behavior,  I tease her.
-  It’s not funny. I have a meeting with Wiegman on Friday. I’m going to give her my resignation letter.
-  Oh, really?
I didn’t even know she had written it. Anyway, she must have prepared it during the day.
-  Aren’t you happy?  she smiles.  It feels like the end is near.
-  It’s not that I’m not happy, it’s just that it adds more pressure,  I giggle.
She rolls her eyes with amusement. I’ve never had the blues about an exam. Even my high school diploma seemed less important compared to now.
-  It’ll be fine, don’t worry. You’re really putting too much pressure on yourself for nothing.
-  Hmm.
-  Finish your homework and then go join your friends. It’ll do you good. Alexia is probably looking forward to talking to you.
I nod and get to work. She’s right. I could tell she hoped I would follow her advice.
-  Thank you. I don’t know what I’d do without you,  I say, making her laugh.
-  I don’t know either. I often wonder that myself,  she teases.
-  Oh, and by the way. You’re not planning to talk about what happened with Jenni, are you?
-  I would have if it hadn’t ended so well. We’ll see how things turn out now. One thing’s for sure, it’s their problem, not ours.
I bite my lip at her response. She’s right, but that doesn’t stop me from worrying about my friend. I hope everything will turn out okay for her. I really don’t want to have to pick up the pieces.

You were no stranger to TikTok and the editing trends that made their rounds. You have seen your fair share of edits or both real and fictional men. You have even come across a few of your boyfriend and they were, well a sight to see. The first time you liked one with your main account, that had sent the comments and the poor editor into a frenzy.
You wanted to interact with the fan base, especially the ones on TikTok without acting liked a crazed girlfriend who thirsted over her boyfriend publicly. So you did what any sane person would do and you made a fan account for your own boyfriend, you never posted anything just liking edits and commenting on how wonderful the edit was.
Charles had no idea and to be honest you didn’t really want him finding out. This was your dirty little secret, something you only looked at when Charles wasn’t home. How was it that these editors were so talented. Putting together a bunch of random clips, the coloring, the transitions, the song choice, all of it was beautiful.
The song of choice at the moment was Carnival and you weren’t complaining. Your entire saves was filled with edits of Charles to this song. You have probably seen hundreds and you ate it up everytime.
It was a random wednesday and Charles was off doing his workout and you had thought that there was no better time than to open TikTok and go scroll through your saves. Too lost in your own little world you failed to notice the front door open a close, signaling that Charles was home.
The only thing that Charles could hear throughout the apartment was a song he wasn’t familiar with. ‘Go Go, go, go, go Head so good, she a honor roll She'll ride the dick like a carnival’. What the hell were you watching?
Coming up behind you Charles could see his own pictures flash across the screen to the song. He watched as you scrolled down and to his surprise it was another video of himself to the same song.
“What are you watching?” Charles ask.
You nearly screamed at Charles’ voice, not expecting him to be back so soon. You turned off your phone and flung it across the couch, “You’re home early!”
“No, No, No. We aren’t changing the subject. What were you watching?”
“Nothing…” you say sheepishly.
Charles raises an eyebrow at your tone, “Are you sure?”
“Mhmm,” you hum out, “Absolutely sure.”
Charles moves next to you on the couch and grabs your phone. You go to reach for it but Charles is quick to grab it back. “I think I know what you were doing.”
“Charles,” you groan out “Give me my phone please.”
Charles continues to hold it out of reach, no matter how you move or where you move to, he is one step ahead. “Not until you tell me who that handsome man was on your screen.”
“Charlie, stopppp.” You groan out, “It’s embarrassing.”
“Then I’ll just have to keep this,” he says, pocketing your phone.
“Fine! I was watching edits of you!”
Charles giggles out at your admission and you hide your face in your hands, heat creeping up your neck.
“I want to see,” Charles says, “show me your favorites.”
“Wow, someones is a little vain.”
“I’m not the one who was watching edits of their significant other.” Charles teases.
“Well now I don’t want to.”
“Mon amour, please.” Charles begs and you turn away from him. You won’t fall victim to his pleading eyes this time.
“Mon amour. Mon cheri. Please my love. I’m not making fun of you I swear.”
You could never hold your resolve to Charles’ pleading, “Fine, can I have my phone?”
Charles hands you your phone and you are quick to unlock it. You exit the edit you were currently watching to scroll back up to the top of your saves.
“I made a separate account to like and comment. One time I liked with my personal account and I think I nearly sent the editor into a early grave. I wanted to interact with the fans but I thought you might think its strange for your girlfriend to be liking thirst edits of you.”
“I think it’s adorable,” Charles says, pinching your cheeks. You swat his hands away in embarrassment. “But y’know you can thirst over me anytime, right?”
“Of course I do, it’s just these edits do something to me. I can’t explain it.”
“Well let me see.”
“Fine,” you scroll down to where you know the edit is, “This one has been real popular lately. There are more to this song, the one that was playing when you walked in earlier, I really like them.”
You hold your phone to at an angle so that Charles can see the edit play out. He sits in silence for the whole thing and once it loops you pause it and wait Charles reaction.
“Wow,” he pauses, trying to think of what to say next, “people really make edits of me to songs like this.”
“Yes and I don’t blame them. You are very sexy.”
“I can see why you watch them. If there were edits of you I’d be watching them all the time. Can I see another?”
“Sure.” You scroll down to another Carnival edit and you watch as Charles is encaptured by himself.
“Well the song got one thing right-you do ride dick like a carnival.” Charles chuckles out.
“CHARLES!”

Could you do fic for James Vowles with wife reader? James and Alex had been lounging and capturing pictures around the track and he decided to take pictures of her because well she's beautiful in his eyes. So, when someone gets hold of the camera, they decide to give them an album for their anniversary. And that picture is on it. Just something fluff and cute. I don't know if it makes sense. Thanks!! :)))
happy anniversary | james vowles
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
no faceclaim i just like putting pictures lol 🫶🏼 @pear-1206
requests are closed
recently alex had gotten a camera. he wasn’t going to follow lando daniel’s footsteps of making an instagram account just for his pictures, this was for fun. he was on the track with his team principal, james, trying out different setting and taking pictures of anything he liked.
“the sunset is pretty.” alex commented as he held his camera up to take a picture of the sunset. before he could take the shot, he noticed his girlfriend, lily, and you, james’ wife, walking the track. he decided to take the picture anyway. “maybe i should change my career.” he joked as he showed james the picture he just took.
“i still need my driver.” james replied. he took a look at the photo and smiled. after many years of dating and marriage, he fell more in love with you everyday. “do you mind if i borrow that for a minute?” he gestured to the camera.
“go ahead, i promised lily we would go to dinner. you can leave it in my driver’s room.” alex said as he left to go get lily so they could go to dinner.
from his spot, james watched as lily and alex left the track, leaving you behind. that’s when james got the bright idea of taking multiple pictures of you.
“you look beautiful, my love.” james called out as you were getting closer to him.
“james! no, i look horrible.” you playfully rolled your eyes. “at least get my good side.”
“every side is your good side, now show me your beautiful smile.” he instructed as he positioned the camera.
you followed his instructions. you weren’t sure how many he was taking so you stopped posing which caused him to groan.
“don’t stop, you look really pretty.” he lowered the camera and showed you the results.
“isn’t this alex’s camera? i think he’ll find it weird that his camera is filled photos of his team principal’s wife.” you looked at the other photos. “oh my god, i do look pretty!”
“that’s what i was saying!”
eventually alex did find the pictures of you when he got his camera back. he didn’t mind, after all it was just for fun. when he showed lily, she found it adorable.
“wait, i think their anniversary is in a few days. we can make an album for them with these pictures! we have to do it!” of course alex said yes, who could say no to lily?
so after a quick trip to the store to buy an album and print the pictures, lily and alex spent the night making your anniversary present.
a few days later, you were in james’ office sitting in the chair across from him at his desk. you were enjoying lunch together when a knock interrupted you. james wasn’t expecting anyone and his team knew it was his lunch break so he was confused.
“come in!” he called out.
seconds later, the door opened revealing lily, alex and several williams team members. even you were confused, probably more than james.
“sorry to disturb you, but we have a gift.” alex announced as he revealed a wrapped gift complete with a bow. “happy anniversary, we hope you like it.” he gave the present to you since you were closest to him.
“alex, don’t i will cry.” you said as you looked at james. “do you want to open it or should i?”
“go ahead, my love.” he nodded.
so you teared open the wrapping paper to reveal an album that had your and james’ names printed on it. you quickly showed james then opened it to reveal the pictures that your husband has taken of you.
“oh my god, this is beautiful.” you commented. “i mean, yeah it’s me, but still.” you said making everyone laugh.
“we also put in some pictures from your instragam, mrs. vowles, you know the ones from your wedding day, the day he proposed. it’s all in there.” alex added.
“i think i am crying, thanks alex i’m crying in front of my pasta!” you joked then stood up to hug the couple for the present. that’s when you noticed the williams team had been recording your reaction.
“this is definitely going every williams social media account.” james laughed.
it was definitely no secret that social media loved the vowles’ and now, they loved you even more.

How to be a High Lady? part 2
Eris Vanserra x Mate!Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: Reader's first meeting as a HL, Rhysand makes some comments and reader chews him out, then smut🤭
wc: 2k
warnings: Feysand slander, cursing and a shit ton of dialogue
a/n: the way there's so little of Eris here...sorry😔 but I'll make up for it if I make a part 3, with just the two of them, maybe their domestic lives and doing High Lord & Lady things in Autumn, idk maybe smut?
part 1
How they met
Tumblr media
Their morning was slow, starting with lazy cuddles in bed followed by an easy breakfast. Her daily meditation helped gather her thoughts and feelings about the meeting ahead, when she focused on it, she could see flashes of messy handwriting and a dark room.
Dressing for the meeting took longer than she'd expected, Eris being the last one to finish so he could match her dress, it had turned into a habit now for him to combine his vest with her dresses or corsets.
After getting through her first meeting, their arrival this time was easier, not caring if people were staring at her or whispering behind her back, she knew today would be tough and her mind was set straight. They were the last ones to arrive, which was weird, she'd made sure they weren't late. The meeting started smoothly, but it didn't remain that way.
"I'm just saying, it'd be better if we cooperated..." Feyre chimed in when no one agreed with Rhysand's words. After hearing those contradictory words she couldn't not intervene.
"No offense, Feyre, but I don't think you're the best person to say that." She said, hoping that it wouldn't cause Rhysand to come for her neck yet. Feyre was stunned for a moment, clearly taken aback.
"And why is that?"
"We can't cooperate if the other part is deceitful."
"Are you calling my High Lady a liar?" Cassian roughly uttered.
"No." Her voice was steady, not showing any traces of fear, because this time she was, in fact, fearless. "I'm saying, how can we know if you're trustworthy when most of your court doesn't even trust you? How can we trust that you won't ruin our courts, like you've done before."
"Again you go speaking of my court." Rhysand growled. "You've been High Lady for a day and think you know everything. Tell me, you seem so sure of what goes beyond my wards... have you been in my court before?" Every word he spoke carried an generous amount of venom.
"No, and I have no desire to do so."
"Then how the fuck do you know so much? Are you a fucking witch or what?" His eyebrows danced showing how pissed he was, apparently not knowing everything seemed to have that effect on him.
The possibilities of what could happen depending on what she responded were running through her head, her first response would be to deny but if she did and they figured it out, which they probably would eventually, she'd be a treacherous witch and that was...
"Yes. I am a witch." The silence in the room was deafening, her ears were ringing, "And so far, my powers have only showed me objects in need of help, faes, humans... courts. I do what I can to help them–"
"I've lived in Night Court for centuries, I helped them, I made things better, I ruled them, you have no right to suddenly decide the way I rule my court is not enough, you don't know." Rhysand growled.
"But I do," her words were firm, matching his tone, "They're not my people and its not my court, but they need someone to care for them, most people in Hewn City have never seen the sky above their heads because they're trapped under a fucking mountain. Have it ever occurred to you that there may be innocent people living there? Children, like your son–"
"Watch it–" Azriel spat. She changed courses.
"Have it occurred to you that maybe they despise you because you never showed them empathy? Instead of trying to gain their approval by providing you could be a good High Lord, you locked them up." She never faltered, every word was spoken loud and clear.
Night's High Lord was fuming, if yesterday she thought his eyes promised death, now they were death. Sharp pain ran across the thick walls she built around her mind, as if claws had just taken a hold of her brain, causing her eyebrows to furrowed as a sharp gasp left her mouth. Thankfully, she spent years working on her mind and everything beyond, and with a strong spell to protect her body, it wouldn't be so easy for him to get through her mind.
"Rhysand!" Eris hissed, his hand coming to rest on her shoulder. She needed to act before Eris attacked him, it wouldn't be pretty.
"If you wanted to see it for yourself, you could've just asked." She teased, but it was true, she would've showed him if he wanted her to. She opened her walls and launched him every memories she had of his people, every small shot her gift had shown her of them.
Rhysand's mouth twitched, his frown deepening. She wasn't sure if it was from being unable to break his way through her mind or because the image she told him about was true. Feyre's expression soured and she could imagine that they were having a mind conversation right at that moment, maybe he showed her the images too.
"That's not true" She said. Was that not enough?
"But it is."
"Certainly you've been wrong before." Rhysand uttered, his voice close to a growl.
"No. If it's shown to me, it's true." If they still didn't believe, she might as well tell them how it works, "If I see something, it's because it has happened or will happen soon, I'm able to differentiate them and when I can prevent them from happening, I do. What I showed you has already happened– has been happening for centuries."
"Have you seen things from other courts?" Tarquin's voice was hesitant, "Summer?" He eyes the other High Lords, all of them silently agreeing with his question.
"Well, yes. I saw Spring's downfall but it was too late, and–" Eris' hot hand on her arm made her look at him, searching for any traces that could show he wanted to maintain secrecy, she found none. "Autumn's genocide."
"That's why you took over..." Tamlin whispered, looking at Eris who gave a simple, almost imperceptible, nod in response.
"How long have you been seeing our court in your..."
"Memories. They're memories, from other people, from now and from the future. A couple years, at first I tried to gather information about what happened there but... it was well hidden."
"Oh–"
"Why'd you never say anything? If you were oh so worried about them." Mor sarcastically spoke. For someone who knows what is like living there, she's embarrassingly hypocritical.
"Would it have changed anything? By the time I stopped looking for them, Feyre was already here. Things changed–"
"And she became High Lady, did you not think you could have talked to her, if you're so sure I wouldn't have done anything." She should be cautious, but then, she had been playing with fire for over a century now. She was almost vibrating with the need to speak what she really thought, but her neck was at risk.
"What, little witchy lost her words? Or did your gift make an appearance?" Rhysand smirked at her. Fuck it.
"Feyre was barely fae at the time and being honest... she doesn't even have that much credibility does she?" His smirk fell, the room filled with dense darkness, hands tried to grasp at her but were pushed back by the wards she'd silently set around herself and Eris, knowing they'd come for him too. It was ancient magic, not that easy to break.
"Rhysand! Stop!" A chorus of commands for him to control himself. Eris' and Helion's power lit up the spacious room, the latter using his powers to hold and push Rhysand back, extremely bright light making the room clear again, after all, he was in his home court. In the midst of darkness, Eris had pulled her to her feet to stand behind him, their hands wrapped around the other's waist.
"If you can't control yourselves I suggest you leave, go fight somewhere else!" Helion shouted.
"Helion, I think this is a matter for our meeting, if she knows things, we should hear." Kallias spoke calmly, not trying to set any of us off, he glanced in Rhysand's direction, who was being held back by Feyre with a hand on his arm. Helion seemed to ponder Kallias words, eyeing her and Rhysand and their mates.
"Fine, behave, or I'll ban all of you."
"You can't possibly think I'll just stand and whatch her talking about my mate like that!" Rhysand spat incredulous, Feyre tapped his arm to gather his attention.
"Let's listen to what she has to say." Feyre said, looking back at her friends, trying to hold them back, Mor leaned back against Feyre's chair, where she'd been since they arrived, she'd gladly stand back and watch as Cassian and Azriel ripped Eris to pieces.
"Bullshit, obviously." Their General uttered, still staring her down until Eris blocked his view of her.
"Alright, continue..." Rhysand spoke, staring her up and down before sitting back in his chair, Cassian watched him before stepping back, Azriel still glared at her as he did the same. Clearly Rhysand had just told them to back off. "Go on. What were you saying about my High Lady?" She calmly pulled back from Eris, gently grasping his hand and pulling him so they could sit back down too, taking a deep breath before signing their 'enemies' certificate.
"Your own 'Inner Circle' doesn't respect her commands, how would she change the way a whole city runs?" Rhysand banged a hand against the arm of his chair while Feyre's mouth fell open, his growl echoing through the room before he lunged forward.
"Out, now!" Helion stood up and pointed to the door, "Now, Rhysand."
Rhysand was practically foaming when he left, snatching a hand around Feyre's waist before winnowing out, the other three following quickly after giving her nasty looks, if she didn't know them, she'd think they were cursing her. The tense atmosphere in the room was rough to bear.
"Are you alright?" A soft voice asked her. Viviane.
"Yes."
"That was really brave, badass." She smiled.
"Brave indeed, I can't tell if you're lucky or just that powerful. I don't know how you're still alive..." Thesan laughed incredulous.
"She wouldn't defy him if she didn't know she could take it." Eris smirked, squeezing her hand in reassurance. While she was bragging about her, she noticed Helion with his fingers massaging his temples.
"We can leave if you want, I'm sorry if we made you uncomfortable," talking a look around the room she noticed all of them looking at her, "any of you."
"I think Rhys needed someone to throw the shit he does to his face, none of us were really able to do it, you did, and it was nice to watch." Tamlin said, amusement written all over his face.
"I agree, the Inner Circle has done and said things we don't agree, but any time we tried to mention it they'd just turn the situation over, would pretend it didn't happen that way or that it wasn't so bad. Rhysand and Feyre both need to see that they're not as good and right as they think they are, someone to humble them could be of use." Tarquin smiled lightly and gave her a wink.
"Do they really not respect her? I had seen signs of it but... they seem so close that I just brushed it off." Helion waved a hand while speaking.
"Is not that they don't respect her, I think they just don't take her seriously. I mean, compared to them she is still a child, she grew up too soon but she's still immature. I don't know why Rhysand made her a High Lady but it doesn't change the fact that, he gave her the title, she didn't know anything about being a High Lady and barely knew anything about our world. Maybe she'd make a good one if she knew what to do, but she just sits and lets her judgment be set by what Rhysand says." She seemed to have a talent to make people go quiet. After a moment of silence, everyone pondering what they just heard, Day's High Lord spoke.
"You're definitely something."

please reblog w tags + leave comments ! it rlly makes my day :)
Tumblr media
✦ CHILDE. [ tartaglia ]
“childe? is that you?” you grin, leaning over the back of your seat as you realise who’s sitting behind you, “i didn’t know you take the bus back too!” his face cracks into a wide beam upon noticing you, “y/n! hi! i do sometimes when i’m too tired to walk.” and just like that, the two of you start talking excitedly – you’re classmates, though you aren’t too close you both still consider each other friends, and it’s nice to have someone to talk to instead of staring out the window at the rain with your earphones plugged in to pretend you’re in a music video.
somehow, the conversation turns to birthdays, and as childe asks when yours is, you smirk, “it’s today!” you swear his blue eyes open so big you’re worried they might just tumble out of his head as he gasps, “what?! today?! so you’re turning a year older today?!” “yeah!” you nod, giggling at his exaggerated reaction. “nah, you’ve got to come here so i can wish you properly,” he shakes his head seriously, and you tilt your head in confusion, “there’s someone sitting beside you already though…”
you shouldn’t have doubted the one and only tartaglia for even a moment, because the next second, he turns to the man beside him with zero hesitation and gives them the most blinding persuasive smile ever, “hey! would you mind switching seats with my friend over there? it’s their birthday, and i really want to wish them!” “childe!” you scold, heat rushing to your face at his casual confession to this total stranger, “stop disturbing random people!” “but it’s your birthday!” he replies innocently, ocean eyes gleaming aquamarine. the man beside him seems a little confused by childe’s demeanour, but he’s probably more scared of what his reaction would be if he said no, so he nods, “sure, i guess…” and as the bus rattles along its familiar route, you switch places with the stranger, profuse thanks spilling from your lips before you fix childe with a scolding gaze.
“hey, it worked!” he raises his hands in surrender, only to quickly grasp yours and shake it heartily, “happy birthday, comrade!” you laugh, shaking your head, “you’re so silly. thank you, childe.” you both hide your chuckles as you joke about the poor guy that had to switch with you, and you tease and banter with each other all the way to the train station.
✦ SHIKANOIN HEIZOU. [ analytical harmony ]
it has been a long day. not necessarily bad, but one of those days where the universe seems to be conspiring against you to make every small thing go wrong enough to get on your nerves. right now, you’re at your wits end as you stumble onto the bus, sending the bus driver a sheepish smile when your card only buzzes on the third tap. your eyes scan the interior – almost all of the seats are occupied, and your friend has skipped ahead to sit with someone else she knows.
but your gaze stops short on a maroon-haired guy looking out the window, and with an internal cheer you realise that the seat next to him is empty and quickly slide into it. now that you’re closer, you notice that he’s actually quite handsome; all fluffy maroon hair and forest green eyes with a few moles dotted across his pale skin. you’re so busy staring that you don’t realise he’s trying to tell you something until he clears his throat. “y-yeah?!” you stutter in surprise at his sudden attempt at conversation. that was a dumb reply. now you’re staring at him with wide eyes as he softly asks, “um, is that your wallet?”
you look at the floor where he’s pointing, only to realise with horror: that is your wallet! “oh… hahaha, that is mine. thank you,” you’re ninety percent sure you are giving off the worst first impression of all time with your stupid responses. it’s almost like you’ve never spoken to another human being in your life. and what’s with your outfit?! of course the one day you don’t dress up is the day you end up sitting next to the world’s cutest stranger. as you bend down to pick up your wallet, you silently curse your unlucky stars. you dropped your purse in front of a cute guy! can this day get any worse?!
famous last words.
because two seconds later, you’re trying to sit up straight again, and you hit your head on the hard back of the seat in front of yours. even worse, you groan loudly, “ow!” “holy archons… are you okay?” the stranger beside you gasps, although as you rub your head and look at them, it’s pretty obvious that they’re trying to hold back laughter. you’re torn between laughing or crying your eyes out, but the humour of the absolutely idiotic situation you’re in kicks in and you end up giggling even as you’re wincing in pain, “i’m fine, thank you… i promise i’m not usually this clumsy.” “really?” he quirks an eyebrow with a teasing smile, “could’ve fooled me.” “hey!” you pout, folding your arms across your chest in playful offence, “i know i might have just made the worst first impression ever, but i swear i’m a lot cooler!” “i’ll be the judge of that,” his gaze softens and he tilts his head, “i’m heizou, by the way.” “i’m y/n! let’s restart this whole thing – it’s nice to meet you!”
luckily for you, the bus is stuck in traffic, and the two of you end up talking about everything under the sun on the long journey to the train station. you aren’t certain if he’s convinced that you’re cool yet, but you’ll definitely keep working on it – even if it’s only to see the way his cute dimples appear whenever his features crease into a smile at your jokes.
✦ XIAO. [ vigilant yaksha ]
it’s been a tiring day of an exhausting course. but at the very least, you’ve got your new friend to complain to as the two of you wait for the bus. “you know, i was so glad you asked me to join your group!” you grin at xiao, adjusting your tote bag. “it’s no big deal… you were alone, so i thought you could join us,” he gives you a soft smile, jade streaks of hair framing his face as they peek out from under his dark cap. “yeah, but still! it’s so difficult to make friends when the classes are so huge, so it was really nice of you.” “that’s true. you’re the first person i’m talking to outside class,” he nods in agreement. his casual statement makes you remember that you’re a professional yapper and you panic, “oh! by the way, if i’m talking too much, just tell me to shut up! i talk a lot, so that’s totally fine.” he chuckles, and his response makes a happy smile grace your lips, “no, it’s okay. i prefer listening, so it’s fine if you talk a lot.” so talk is what you do until the bus finally rumbles into the bus stop.
the constant bumping of the bus on the rough roads combined with the soothing noise of the rain tapping against the window makes you drowsy, and you turn to xiao, “if i fall asleep before we reach the train station, you better wake me up, okay? don’t abandon me on the bus and just go home!” the corner of his lips quirk up into what might be a teasing smile, “no promises.” but when he sees your distraught expression, he reassures you, “just kidding. i’ll wake you up.” “okay…” you mumble a response, and within a few seconds, you’re asleep, head lolling forward as the bus continues along. you don’t usually fall asleep on public transport, far too worried that you’ll miss your stop and end up on the other end of teyvat, but with xiao beside you, you’ve got nothing to worry about, right?
you’re in the middle of a very nice dream when you hear xiao’s soft voice calling you, “y/n?” and his tone is so gentle, like he didn’t want to startle you, that it almost makes your heart beat right out of your chest. you stretch a little, eyes flickering open before sliding shut again, “mmm…” “we’re almost there,” he murmurs. and there it is again, that soft, gentle voice that you swear sounds like honey. you’re almost going to pass out, and definitely not from sleepiness. “okay… i’m awake.” you manage a smile, and he tilts his head almost worriedly, “don’t fall asleep on the train.” “i won’t!” you grin widely as you hop off the bus, hoping that shows how you’re 100% awake right now, and he smiles, “okay then, i’ll see you tomorrow.”
Tumblr media
bahaha these are very messy but i just needed to get these out of my system before i went insane i think i should take the bus more often 😋 also yes these are all 100% experienced by yours truly and have not even been exaggerated for the sake of this fic // general masterlist

Darkest Knight
Natasha Romanoff x Fem!Mutant!Reader
18+ only, read at your own risk
Summary: You meet a pretty woman in a bar...
AN: Came up with a new idea, let me know if you all like it. 👀
Natasha shivers when the door opens behind her, wrapping herself tighter in the thin jacket jacket that is not meant to be worn during the winter. Although she’s sitting in the corner, trying to make herself as invisible as possible, the icy wind stabs at her back and it practically takes her breath away. Her whole body aches from a lack of sleep and food, although so far the bartender had only been generous enough to give her a single glass of water.
It’s almost 9:00pm, evident by the pitch-black gloom outside the windows stained with dirt and snow. Natasha doesn’t know what time the restaurant closes, but she has no way of leaving it safely, having used the last of her energy to stumble here through the surrounding woods on foot. The next city over was probably at least 25 miles away. She closes her eyes, overwhelmed and despondent, reaching for her water glass with trembling fingers.
A lot of luck had gotten her this far, more so than her own skills, but she feared tonight would be when it finally ran out.
Someone drops noisily onto a barstool three seats away from her. “I’ll have a beer.”
Natasha looks over warily at the person joining her. You’re wearing a leather jacket over a flannel shirt that is only buttoned halfway up, and Natasha feels colder just looking at you. You puff on a cigar as you pull out a few folded bills and toss them on the counter. The smell of smoke causes her to cringe away in distaste and she notices you immediately take the cigar out of your mouth and stamp it out on the counter.
The bartender comes over, frowning at the new ashy ring on his wood countertop.
“Add it to my bill,” you grunt, pushing the money towards him and swapping them for a bottle. After you take a sip, you glance over at Natasha for a second, turning to face ahead and watch the television behind the bar.
Natasha drinks her water, wondering if she has the dexterity to steal from the tip jar when she can’t even feel her fingers. She had seen how much cash you had in your pocket–at least another $50–maybe if she played you up a little you’d buy her dinner. You were the only one in the restaurant who hadn’t eyed her like a meal, and Natasha knows you only put your cigar out for her. She has to put her plans on hold, however, when she hears heavy footsteps pad up from behind her. Someone taps on her shoulder.
“Hey, honey,” a gruff voice mumbles.
She doesn’t turn to look at him, but from the corner of her eye sees that it’s the big bald man who had been watching her from a booth since the moment she entered the restaurant.
“You came here alone, didn’t you?” the man asks. “You walked here.”
Natasha doesn’t respond. She notices your attention has moved from the television to the man standing behind her.
“Let me give you a ride home,” the man says, his voice heavy with unsaid intentions.
“No, thank you,” she says.
The man leans in closer to her until his alcohol-laced breath is hot against her ear. “It wasn’t an offer, honey.”
“She said no,” you growl. Both Natasha and the man looked surprised at your intervention.
“Fuck off,” the man spits. “You’re always taking girls home, let me have this one.”
You roll your eyes at his comment. Natasha looks at you with trepidation now as you get up, your footsteps somehow heavier than the man’s despite being shorter than him.
“Go home, Stu,” you tell him. “Alone.”
“Not tonight,” he spits, grabbing onto Natasha’s arm. Normally, she would never allow herself to be handled like this and would have broken Stu’s nose on the counter by now, but that’s a fight she didn’t know she could win in her current state. She tries squirming out of his iron grip but is dragged off the barstool instead. No one sees you lunge forward, cranking your arm back and punching Stu in the face. Natasha cringes when she hears what sounds like clanging metal and pushes away from Stu as he falls to his knees, crying and screaming while clutching his face.
“Are you okay?”
Natasha looks up and sees you offering her a hand. She grabs it, your palm rough but warm, and hops over Stu to stand next to you. She’s shocked to see that the lower half of his face is completely drenched in blood from his broken nose.
“You motherfucker!” Stu gasps, struggling to his feet.
“Stay down,” you suggest. “We should probably leave,” you tell Natasha, and against her better judgment, she eagerly follows you outside even after witnessing you take down a full-grown man with a single punch.
The wind is prickly against her skin and the cold weighs down her bones. Snow falls in hard pellets and Natasha lifts her arms over her face to protect it.
“My truck is over here!” you shout over the wind and Natasha numbly chases after you. It’s a beat-up red pickup truck that has certainly seen better days, but Natasha gives no comment as she climbs in and you turn on the heater, blasting her with warmth. “Sorry about Stu. I’ve never known him not to be an asshole,” you say, adjusting the vents in Natasha’s direction.
“Thank you,” she blurts out.
“Oh. Uh, you’re welcome.” You sound like you’re not used to being thanked. You turn the windshield wipers on to clear off the snow collected there. “I know Stu was right about one thing, though. You’re not from around here.”
“No,” Natasha admits. “Do you know if there’s a motel nearby I can stay in?”
“The closest one is thirty miles out,” you say. “But we’d be lucky to move even five with the snow picking up.” The windshield is almost fully caked in a layer of white again. “My place is only two miles from here. You can crash for the night and I’ll take you up to the city first thing tomorrow when the weather clears.”
Natasha wants to tear up at your generosity. She hasn’t known you for more than five minutes, and you’ve already rescued her from a creep and offered her a place to stay. Maybe her good luck is hanging on longer than she’d thought.
“I’d like that,” she says, and you nod, revving up the engine and driving out of the parking lot. The drive is completely silent but in a comforting way. Although you’re focused on the road, you only have one hand on the steering wheel and the other on the gear shift in a very relaxed, almost casual way. Natasha stares at your hands, curious as to why she can’t see any bruising on your knuckles from when you practically turned Stu’s face inside-out. You seem to notice her staring because you suddenly clear your throat and adjust your position, moving both your hands to the 5 and 7 o’clock positions of the steering wheel.
True to your word, your cabin is relatively close to the restaurant, although the drive feels longer to Natasha because you can’t go faster than 15mph. You park on the driveway, hurrying out before Natasha can even unbuckle her seatbelt to have her door open for her.
“Thank you,” she says, although reluctant to step back out into the cold.
“Go through the front door,” you tell her, handing her your house key. “I need to get some firewood from the garage first.”
Natasha darts to your porch, fumbling with the key frustratingly before she can get the door open. She stumbles into your home, stamping snow off her shoes. She finds the light switch, flipping it on and surprised to see how barren your house is. There’s a couch, a television, and a potbelly stove in the first room, and an opening to the kitchen on the left and your bedroom ahead. There’s not even a shelf of books or knick knacks as far as she can see.
“Sorry about the mess,” you grumble as you come in behind her, carrying an armload of splintered wood. “I wasn’t anticipating any visitors tonight.”
“It’s cozy,” Natasha comments as you throw a few pieces of wood into the stove and light some tinder underneath.
“The bathroom is through the bedroom if you need it,” you say. “I’ll sleep on the couch tonight.”
“Oh, wait, you don’t have to do that,” Natasha starts. “I’m your guest–”
“Don’t worry about it.” You wave her off. Natasha doesn’t know how to respond to your unending kindness. Sometimes, she forgets that good still exists in the world after all the evil she’s been running from. “I’ll heat up some soup. I hope you’re okay with ham and potato.”
“Thank you,” is all she can manage.
“Go ahead and wash up. I’ll need some time to warm up the soup. Use whatever you need. There’s a clean towel and some clothes on the left side of my closet that might fit you. They belonged to…an old friend.” Natasha hears the wistfulness in your voice, her curiosity piqued. But she doesn’t pry and goes into your bedroom, closing the door. She finds the clothes and a folded up towel that you mentioned, so she carries them all into the bathroom.
The hot water has never felt so wonderful as Natasha washes off the grimes from several days’ of traveling. But she enjoys it for too long and soon, the water runs cold. Motivated to step out, she dresses in the clothes you provided, glad for the wool that keeps her insulated and toasty. She joins you in the kitchen, where you’re ladling soup into two chipped bowls on the table.
“Feel better?” you ask her. You’ve taken off your leather jacket now, your checkered flannel fully hanging open over a white tank top. Natasha has no idea how you’re able to withstand the cold in the cabin, although the fire from the potbelly stove has made the temperature much more tolerable. In one less layer of clothing, she can see the muscles in your chest and shoulders, which certainly explained where your powerful punch came from. You have a beaded chain around your neck holding a pair of dog tags. While Natasha is still not sure what to think of you, she has a better idea now.
“I feel amazing,” she says, “Although I think I used up all the hot water–”
“It’s fine. Do you want a beer?”
“No, thank you. Water is fine.”
“Sure.” You pour her a glass from a pitcher in the fridge and grab a beer for yourself. She waits for you to sit with her before dipping her spoon into her bowl. The soup warms her up from the inside and before she realizes it, her bowl is empty before you’ve even had a few spoonfuls. Her cheeks heat up as you fill her bowl without being prompted.
“Thanks,” she murmurs and once again you only grunt in response. After you finish your soup, you don’t refill it, instead sitting back and sipping your beer. Neither of you talk, but the silence isn’t uncomfortable. Natasha finishes her third bowl, scraping every drop onto her spoon, before her curiosity finally wins.
“Can I ask why you’re being so nice to me?” she asks.
You stare at her as if she’s just asked for your answer to a complex math equation. There’s a few seconds of pause before you respond. “Because you’re someone who doesn’t ask for help, even if you really need it.”
Your answer has Natasha even more confused.
“You remind me of myself,” you add, as if this is enough clarification. When you talk, your voice is low and gruff, almost like you’re not used to having someone listen to you. From the furnishings in your home, or lack of them, it’s clear you live alone and probably have for a while. With the closest settlement 30 miles away, Natasha is surprised you haven’t set up further out. Whatever life you had lived, it seemed like you just wanted to retire in peace, despite that you didn’t look older than 30 years.
“I can’t thank you enough,” she says. “After tonight, you can drop me off in town and I’ll be out of your way.”
“You’re not a burden,” you reply.
“And I’m not trying to be.” Natasha takes her bowl to the sink to wash it, but you stop her.
“Don’t worry about it. I’ll clean up in the morning. You should get some rest.”
“Come on, let me do at least one nice thing for you,” Natasha begs.
“Hmm,” you mumble, your face twisting as you appear to think hard about her request. “How about you let me use the cold water in the bathroom to wash up, and then the bedroom is all yours?”
“Deal.”
But while you’re in the bathroom, Natasha sneaks back into the kitchen and washes the dishes. She can’t help herself; it just feels wrong to take advantage of your hospitality without giving you anything in return. She leaves the dishes to dry on the counter, then guiltily hunts around the remaining rooms for any further insight into your life before you get out of the shower.
In one of the kitchen drawers, she finds a small pocket knife that when folded, can be concealed perfectly in the palm of her hand. She had lost her own knife running through the forest earlier that day, and even though she can’t imagine having to use it against you, it makes her feel better to have a blade on her. She pockets it, hoping you won’t miss it, and keeps looking. But there is nothing to find: no receipts, no tags, not even a handwritten sticky note to yourself.
Natasha jolts when she realizes she hasn’t even asked your name yet.
You emerge from your bedroom, your hair flattened by the water, a towel slung around your neck. “Bedroom is all yours,” you say, dragging a moth-eaten blanket to the couch and dropping down on it. “I’ll be out here if you need anything.”
“One more question,” Natasha says. “I’m Nat. What’s yours?”
“Y/N.”
Natasha smiles. “Good night, Y/N.”
“Good night, Nat.”
***********************************************************************
BOOM.
You feel like you’ve only just fallen asleep, but you sit up at the sudden noise, momentarily forgetting where you are.
“Police! Open up!”
BOOM. BOOM. BOOM.
“What the…?” You blink in confusion, tripping over the blanket as you stumble to the door. Peeking through the blinds, you see four men in SWAT gear standing on your porch. All of them are armed with multiple guns and one of them holds a battering ram. But you don’t see any police insignia on any of their uniforms. A tank of a truck is parked on your driveway, blocking the path to your own, and any chance of unnoticed escape.
“Police! Open the damn door!”
“Y/N? What’s going on?” Natasha suddenly pops up in your bedroom doorway, her hair tousled and face drowsy.
“We’ve got company,” you respond, as there’s pounding at the door again. “They said they’re police, but I don’t think that’s true–”
“Oh, shit,” Natasha gasps. “They found me.”
“Found you? Who?” The hair on the back of your neck stands up.
“I’m so sorry. Oh my God. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to drag you into this.” Natasha begins pacing your living room as bright lights stream through the windows. You probably won’t have much more time before they force entry.
“Nat, what’s going on? Who are these people?” you ask, running over to her. You’ve hardly known this woman for 12 hours, but you have a fierce desire to protect her from whatever’s hunting her. When you had first seen her in the bar, looking roughed up and sad, you had the urge to help her. But scaring Stu off wasn’t enough and even taking her to your home couldn’t keep her safe.
“I should have never come here,” Natasha cries. “You don’t deserve this, after everything you’ve done for me–”
“I can help you,” you insist. “Please, Nat. Just tell me who they are–”
She looks up at you, and even in the darkness the fear in her eyes is unmissable.
“The Red Room.”

QUESTIONABLE THINGS IVY HAS SAID
Tumblr media
VIDEO START ▶️
“if cats have nine lives, why do jungwon and jay only have one.”
it was in the middle of Manifesto tour where each of them had their own separate rooms. ivy was going mental and bored out of her mind so she decided to turn on a live.
someone commented about jay and jungwon being adorable cats.
“jungwon and jay are adorable. they’re like newborn kittens.” ivy reads off the comment. she hums.
“that’s true. they’re adorable but something irks me.”
“if cats have nine lives, why do jungwon and jay only have one.” she asks in a genuine and questioning tone.
— philosopher vivi working overtime
“we love a sexy barbeque man.”
there were a series of knocks and ivy singing ‘do you want to build a snowman’ outside of sunghoon’s door. it was late at night so ivy did it softly. after all, they finished their concert like an hour ago.
after jay opens the door, ivy joins the live and waves to the camera. jay and sunghoon went on about how tan jay looks compared to sunghoon.
“you look like a good fried chicken.” ivy says.
“what?”
“we love a sexy barbeque man.” she does those chef kisses. the two boys never understood what was going on in ivy’s head.
— i want whatever drugs she’s on
“you🫵🏻 come over here👇🏻 WRIGHT☝🏻 NAOW😤.”
with jungwon zooming around and having a lot of energy, ivy couldn’t fully focus on reading through the ENGENEs comments.
she was really trying. as she reads, jungwon zoom pasts her trying to find a way to lose his high tension.
“you🫵🏻 come over here👇🏻 WRIGHT☝🏻 NAOW😤.” she tells jungwon in English, sounding like a mother scolding her child. jungwon runs back around and sits next to her like a good boy. they continued their live properly.
— aww mama duck vivi
“WHATS WITH THE SKINNY BAMBOO LOOKING LEGS?? COULDN’T THEY HAVE GIVEN OUR DARK MOON CHARACTERS MEAT??”
when the dark moon WEBTOON came out, ivy was curious about the story so she decided to go ahead and read out loud during the live. as she scrolls through, she notices the characters not having much figure.
“what the-” she looks at the characters and then the live and then back at the characters.
“why are they so skinny?”
— engene: “so we’re not the only ones that think that?”
“definitely but oh my god. someone feed the poor vampires- oh sorry for sooha I meant non-vampire. she’s not a vampire everyone. don’t misunderstand.”
“actually, I have to complain to HYBE. why in the world are they so skinny and where in the hell is my character.”
— engene: “oof ivy popping off💅🏻💅🏻”
“WHATS WITH THE SKINNY BAMBOO LOOKING LEGS?? COULDN’T THEY HAVE GIVEN OUR DARK MOON CHARACTERS MEAT??” the passion as she says so.
— passionate vivi. she protects and attacks🤺
*stares at bird* “he would probably make a good source of protein.”
ivy was busy staring out the window. she was bored. waiting for their turn at Inkigayo for their Sweet Venom recording.
“noona, what are you doing?” jay asks as he comes up behind her with a camera.
“looking out the window.” she lays her head against the window and shuts her eyes a little. “I wanna sleep.”
“same. now would be a good time to sleep, I’m dead tired.” jay says.
her stomach grumbles a little. “urgh, now I’m hungry.” just then, a bird had perched onto the ledge in front of the window.
“god, the things I’d do for some chicken.” jay groans. ivy points to the bird and stares at it.
“he would probably make a good source of protein.”
jay has never whipped his head so fast. it’s almost like he would get a whiplash. “HE WHAT?”
— you know she’s crazy when jay looks at her weird
“crazy? I was crazy once. they locked me in a room, a room with sunghoon, and sunghoon makes me crazy. crazy-”
ivy was busy reading a few comments since she was bored and didn’t exactly know what to show the ENGENEs. she was seriously trying to think of a content she could do to engage the audience.
“mmm, do aeygo?” she deadpans at the camera. “sorry, I’m not an aeygo master. you can ask sunoo.”
that is until she decides to pull one aeygo out of nowhere. she easily gets embarrassed. “okay, okay, no more. I look like a goblin doing aeygo.”
“where is sunghoon?” she reads out loud. “he’s probably at the dorms. he finished his schedule for the day.”
“does sunghoon make you crazy? huh? you mean in what way?”
“in general?” she thinks for a second, “crazy? I was crazy once. they locked me in a room, a room with sunghoon, and sunghoon makes me crazy. crazy-”
ENGENEs were commenting thinking ivy drank soju before doing the live.
— not her following that one meme😭😭
“sometimes in life you just have to life.”
ivy was basically doing her normal thing. reading the live comments and also entertaining ENGENEs.
“do you ever feel like a plastic bag.” she reads off the comment. “yes, everyday. i wanna drift through the wind and i want to start life again.”
“noona, are you drunk.”
“I’d like to know too. Maybe this tea has alcohol inside of it but no, I’m not drunk as far as I know.”
“what do you do when life doesn’t go your way.”
“deep question. I like it.” she sighs, “sometimes in life, you just have to life.” she makes a sad face, wiping her fake tears.
“it’s true, that’s how life works when it doesn’t go your way.”
– oml philosopher vivi strikes again
“even if you don’t succeed, just fail.”
in yet another solo live she did, she had basically gotten viral for making these ‘inspiring’ quotes. multiple people praising her because she can make up this true story-comedy quotes.
“unnie, make more inspiring quotes.” she hums at the comment. “give me something you want me to make a quote out of.”
she skims through the various comments, “ah, mmm. you failed a test? I’m so sorry about that.”
“umm, even if you don’t succeed. just fail. studying isn’t everything. you can always try again!”
– I’m gonna kiss her. she’s so perfect
“I’m a sunbae??? THEY ARE HOW OLD??”
with illit debuting, enhypen was finally a sunbae. they had hoobaes under BELIFT Lab now and so ivy heard about them. the boys were just talking about it during the backstage video.
“we are sunbaes now.” jake says.
“mmm.”
“and they are younger than ni-ki. I believe the average age is about 18.6.” jake continues. Ivy hums again before she processes what jake was truly saying then she practically whips her head over.
“I’m a sunbae??? THEY ARE HOW OLD??” she says in shock.
– the cultural shock ivy experienced.
Ivy: turning 23 this year
Iroha: turning 16 this year

“Gurararara Ace, how are you feeling?”
"Doing good pops, still mad my jolly Roger got erased,” he grumbles
“We can do the tattoo Again; just be glad you are only missing that and not your life; you were almost a goner there.” Marco sighs
“Fair enough, still stings when I look in the mirror, though,” he mumbles
A crash sounds across the ship as what sounds like boxes and a scream echo from the storage room of the Moby Dick
“We might have a stowaway…” Marco notes
“Is it one of the bastards from Marineford?” Jozu growls, activating his devil fruit
“Be Careful, Jozu, we do not know who we are dealing with here,” Izou says, pulling out his guns
“Don’t even think about it, Sir; you are still healing,” One of the nurses comments, looking towards Whitebeard, who grunts in response
“We’ll handle it, pops; I don’t mind a little exercise; I’m bored, and if it is one of the bastards, I need to let out some steam,” he says, walking towards the storage room; the rest of the commanders, following behind him
“Whoever they are, they should be able to hold their own if they managed to make it on board,” Thatch says, his eyes lighting up with a twinkle.
“I wonder what they would be doing in the storage, though…”
“It’s probably a marine stowaway; probably best to show him some rough treatment,” Vista says as he smirks, rubbing his hands together in anticipation.
“Come on out.” He calls our
Ace kicks the door open.
“Alright, whoever you are, speak now or forever hold your peace,” Ace says, grinning
“If they don’t answer, then we’ll have to find them ourselves,” Marco says as he begins to activate his power
Ace walks ahead and peeks into the corner where the commotion could be heard from, and he stills, making gestures to their fellow commanders to lower their weapons as he kneels down
“Ace, be careful; a wounded man is still a threat, especially the ones trying to hide,” Marco states as walking next to the second commander
“Don’t lower your…guard.” he stops glancing at their stowaway
“Pop’s is going to love this one,” he mutters, turning back to the rest of the commanders
“It’s a kid”
“What, is this someone’s kid? A stray?” Izou questions, looking down at the stowaway
Reader glances between all the men staring him down, inching back and trying to make himself smaller, covering himself with his wings
“Kid, what brings you here ?” Ace says with a soft voice,
“How were you able to get on board? How long have you been hiding for?” Ace says as he sits on his knees to meet the kid's height, looking at him directly in his eyes
Reader glances at Ace for a second but lowers his face and tries to dig himself deeper into his caccoon between his wings
“He's scared, a very brave kid, that one, I would be too if I was in this situation.” He says, smiling kindly at the stowaway,
“Hey, it's ok, you're safe now.”
“Wait.. you’re, you're the kid that was with Hawkeye when we were dueling,” Vista states, taking a closer look at the winged child
Reader looks up at that
“You know, Dad?” He mumbles
“Oh yes, yes, we know who he is,” Vista answers as he gets on his knees beside Ace.
“What are you doing on this ship, kid? You know this isn’t the type of lifestyle for someone as young as you?”
He unfurls himself from His wings slightly
“I -I left the raft. Dad told me to stay on the raft no matter what, but I thought he was going to get hurt, and then Uncle Shanks came, and I got scared they were going to fight again,” he rambles on
“I think we finally have the story here. That sounds like an adventurous kid,” Ace says, rubbing his brow in thinking
“A bit brave and reckless, too,” he adds on
“He’s definitely got a good head on his shoulders,” Izou says approvingly of the boy
“Okay, you ended up on the battlefield because you got scared for your father, but how did you end up here in the Moby Dick.” Inquires Marco, looking down at him
“Everything was confusing; there was so much going on, so umm, I kinda ended up here..”
“Aww, Kid, we’ve all been through times like that; I’m sure your father will be grateful you at least took the initiative to get to him,” Thatch says with a smile.
“But, you can’t just board a pirate’s ship and expect them to be kind; you might not be as lucky next time,” he says, kneeling down in front of him
Marco sighs
“let’s bring him out to Pops; we’ll talk about what we’ll do from there.”
“Yes, I think that’s enough questions for now; I don’t think this kid needs a full-on interrogation just yet,” Vista adds.
Reader gets up hesitantly and approaches Vista, stretching his up, opening and closing his hands
Vista chuckles, lifting the child and putting him on his hip
“Are you really Hawkeyes kid?”
He nods
“Are you friends with Dad?”
“Not exactly…I mean, we know each other and have fought before…” Vista trails off, slightly unsure of what he wants to say
“There’s…mutual respect between us, but we have found ourselves on opposite sides on the battlefield.” he says, mulling over his words, trying to define their relationship best not to alarm the small child.”
“Regardless, we will help you return to your father; do not worry.” Ace states
“What are your names?”
“I am Vista of the Flower Swords”
He gestures at the group
Portgas D. Ace.”
“Jozu of the Diamond”
“Marco the Phoenix”
“Thatch, Head of the Ships Cooks
Flintlock Pistols Izou.”
“Geez, Vista, No need to be so formal.” Thatch sighs
Reader smiles, his wings flapping happily behind him
“Im Dracule Reader, umm Reader from Papa!”
“Reader? What an interesting name for a little boy.” Izou says with a slight chuckle
“This is Pops, Whitebeard, the captain of this ship,” Vista says, walking in front of said man
Reader awes at the man fluttering out of Vista’s hold and up to Whitebeard
“You’re big! You’re bigger than the humandrills at home!” He says, circling around him
“I was wondering who was making that ruckus; what brings this brat here,” he says, glancing at the flying boy
“He said his name was Reader, Dracule Reader,” Marco said, glancing up at both
“Dracule? What is your relation to Hawkeye?”
“That’s Papa!”
“Hawkeye is your father?” He says, looking over to Marco, who nods
“Vista confirmed it; he saw this one lingering around the battlefield close to Hawkeye.”
“That is correct, pops; the little one is Hawkeye's son,” he says proudly, pointing at Reader
“We found him hiding in the storage room.” Marco clarified
“He said he followed his father into the battlefield but lost him in the heat of the battle,” Vista says, explaining the circumstances as to how Reader found his way to Whitebeard's crew
“I see, in that case, Bring me a Den Den Moshi,” Whitebeard says to one of the nurses next to him
“We’ll get into contact with your father.”
“You’ll help me get back? But Mister Vista of the Flower swords said you were fighting with Dad.”
“Yes, your father and we are on opposite sides; however, your father was just following orders from the Marines, and regardless if he was an enemy or not, you are not. I know the pain of losing a son,” he says, glancing at Ace
“Because I know the pain, I do not wish it upon anyone right now; this is not between enemies but between fathers. You were not involved in the fight, and as such, there is no need for you to suffer from it,” he grunts as the nurses bring him the Den-Den Mushi
Reader’s lip quivers
“Thank you!”
“You’re safe now, kid; we’re going to call your dad and let him know you’re safe; once we do, we can arrange somewhere to meet. You’re lucky you picked the right ship to stow away on, kid,” Marco says
“I’m sure your father is worried sick trying to find you. Don’t worry; we’ll make the arrangements to get you back to your dad,” Thatch says with a smile
Reader flies down to to where the commenders stood
“Thank you, Marco, the Phoenix and Thatch head of ship cooks.”
Marco chuckles at this
“Vista, this is why I said not to be so formal! Oi kid, no need for titles.” Thatch groans out
“Is Thatch head of the ships cooks not your name? But Vista of the flower swords said those were your names?”
Thatch chuckles
” You’re something else, kid; I like you.”
“Ah?” He tilts his head, confused
“I can see you are going to be quite the handful; Vista told you our names and Epithets, surnames in Ace’s case; you don’t need to call me Flintlock Pistols Izou; you can just call me Izou,” he comments, chuckling, along with the other commanders
”Izou’s right; we all have titles or epithets; you’ve got a good head on you, kid; how about you give it a try,” the chef said, gesturing to himself
“Umm, Thatch Cooks?”
“Cooks? Now I’m not sure if you’re messing with me or not,” he laughs
“Not quite that; try again, just one word,” he says while trying to hold back his laughter
“Thatch?”
“That’s right, see, not so hard you’re already learning.” he laughs and ruffles his head
He beams at the compliment and glances at Vista
“Vista?”
“Haha, that’s my name, kid,” he says.
“Well done!” he exclaims happily, picking him up once again and placing him on his shoulders
Joyous giggles escape the small boy, holding onto his head and flapping his wings occasionally to keep balance until he picks up the sound of the Den Den Mushi ringing and a familiar voice coming through
“Hawkeye,” Whitebeard calls curtly
“What do you want, Shirohige? If this concerns the recent battle, I really do not have time-
“It’s about your son; he is here.”
Mihawk falls silent for a moment
“What?”
“Your son stowed away on the Moby Dick; he said he was trying to escape the head of the battle and ended up in my ship.”
“Where are you?”
“We are approaching Sabaody Archipelago.”
“Very well. I will be there shortly.”
“We’ll be waiting for you,” he said, hanging up and glancing toward the child
“He will meet us at the next Island.”
Reader can’t help but laugh with relief, glad that they will see their father soon
Vista chuckles
“You’re in a better mood than you were when we first discovered you now, aren’t you?”
He nods
“Im gonna see Dad again!”
“You sure are; you just have to stick with us, and we’ll ensure you get to him safe and sound,” Ace exclaims
“Okay!”
Vista smiles, taking off his iconic hat and placing it over the child
They giggle as the hat envelops them, and he raises it slightly to take a small peek and be able to see
Ace smiles at the gesture, happy to see the kid smile after the traumatic ordeal he’s been through
“Glad you are in a better mood,” Ace grins, ruffling Reader’s hair
“That’s good to hear, kid; I’m happy as well,” Marco adds, giving the kid’s hat a little pat before pulling it back down to cover them
They shriek cheerfully as they are once again enveloped by the hat
“Gurararara, We’ve got ourselves a live one; didn't get that from your father, that’s for sure.” he grinned as the ship pulled up to the Archipelago; it was still dark out but slowly beginning to become morning in the distance
“Hm? Isin’t that Hawkeye over there?” Thatch comments, squinting his eyes to a small raft that slowly approached the Moby Dick
“Let’s not get too close to the raft; let him approach us,” Izou says, looking towards the raft
“He won’t try anything, not with his son here, and Im sure even someone like him can tell when he is outnumbered with all of our commanders and pops here Marco says, leaning against the railing and staring at the approaching raft
Ace approaches the railing, trying to get a better view of the raft, looking to make out the figure at the front
“It is him.”
“Dad?” The small child says, peeking out from under the hat again
“Dad!” He exclaims, taking off towards the approaching raft, ignoring the calls from the pirates as he barrels into Mihawk, hugging him tightly, tears pooling in his eyes as he apologizes repeatedly.
“I’m sorry, Dad; you told me to stay in the raft, but I thought you would get hurt, and I just caused more trouble for you. I’m sorry, I’m sorry,” he cries
Mihawk stands frozen for a second, taken back by his son’s words
“No. Your apology is unnecessary. The fault lies in me for leaving you alone. What’s important is that you are back with me now.” he says, embracing him
“Look, I require you to stay by my side from now on, okay? No more running off by yourself.” Mihawk says as the raft gradually comes closer to the Moby Dick.
He nods his head vigorously, the hat too big for his head, wobbling around at the movement
Mihawk glances up at the hat and raises an eyebrow mutely, questioning his child
“It’s Mister Vista’s”
“Is that so?” he says, glancing up at the Moby Dick, spotting said man along with the commanders and Whitebeard himself leaning against the railing, watching father and son
Whitebeard’s gaze slowly falls upon Mihawk.
“You’ve got yourself a handful there, Hawkeye. But I must say, it’s good to see someone capable of putting the past behind them; such is the innocence of childhood.”
“Indeed, it is something that I have sworn myself to protect at all cost,” he says, looking back upon his son
“We meet Again, Hawkeye,” Vista says, grinning at the swordsman
“It seems we do, Vista of the Flower Swords; you have my gratitude for taking care of my son
“It was my pleasure; he is definitely something special, though,” he says with a chuckle
“Let us finish the fight we put on hold the next time we see each other; I anxiously wait to see who will come on top; the promise of that is enough payment for me.”
“Then so it shall be; the next time we encounter, we will let our blades finish what they started,” he said, preparing to return home with his son
“Ah, wait!” He said, flying back to the Moby Dick and gently placing Vista’s hat on his head once again
“Thank you, Mister Vista, thank you, everyone; I hope I can see you again! I had fun!”
“You’ll be seeing me again someday, kid, so make sure you do all you can to get stronger,” he says, lowering the child to the ground, ruffling his hair
“You’re going to make quite a fine pirate someday,” Vista laughs, ruffling the boy’s hair. “now get on back to your father and get some rest; this was a big day for you.”
“And don’t worry, kid, all of you are always welcome on my ship; just make sure next time to board it the proper way and not as a stowaway,” Whitebeard says with a broad smile
“I couldn’t agree more. Don’t be a stranger, kid!” Ace says to the pair as he watches over the kid
“You’re lucky it was us you picked to stow away with, kid; you have nothing to worry about from us,” Marco adds, ruffling Reader’s head
Whitebeard’s gaze falls upon the two once again as they bid their farewells to the kid

John dutton and reader in bed after shes taken a pregnancy test " im too damn old for kids " John says " not old " reader says
Seven Morming Wake Up Call
Tumblr media
Sliding the bathroom door opened trying to hide the nervous smile across my face. Leaning in the doorway I held a secret pregnancy test behind my back. John shrugged a night shirt over his head and tossed the covers aside and laid down in the bed. “Are you coming to bed, darling?”
“John, what would you say if I told you I had something to tell you?” I asked him not moving away from the doorway.
He slightly sits up against the pillows with his hands in his lap. “I’d say go right ahead Y/n. You know everything about me and I know everything about you. We agreed on no secrets didn’t we?”
“Well what I’m about to tell you is something very big…..Here you go.” Moving away from the edge of the bathroom I felt a nervous twist in the pit of my stomach. It shouldn’t be that much of a surprise since I was old enough to know that you could get pregnant the first time you sleep with someone. But I never expected to get pregnant with an old rancher considering John and I haven’t been dating that long.
John blinks his eyes seeing me reveal the test from behind my back and holding it out to him. He slowly takes it from my hands holding it closer so he could read it better. He gulped mumbling under his breath. “You’re joking with me aren’t ya. Did Tate put you up to this?”
“I wish I was, John. But unfortunately no…it’s for real.” Twirling my thumbs I shifted from foot to foot standing at the edge of the bed.
He ran his fingers through his hair sighing heavily and throwing his head back on the pillows. “It’s Seven in the fucking morning…this can’t be happening.”
“John, please don’t say that. Oh geez what are we going to do?” Pacing back and forth I felt my heart skipping a beat a lot faster than it was a few minutes ago. Eyeing my jacket and boots by the door I rushed over scrambling to get them back on and just get out of here before things go worse. Putting my hand on the doorknob I was about to leave until…
John’s feet hit the floor and he gently grabbed my other wrist stopping me from leaving. “Y/n, don’t leave. I mean I don’t mean to freak out here but it’s just - I’m too damn old to have kids in my opinion.”
“Not to me you’re not.” I blurted out dropping my hand from the doorknob and turned around to face him.
The eldest Dutton before me was taken back by my words. “You don’t. But why not?”
“Cause you are an old rancher who raised four kids all on his own. Yes you may have done some things that weren’t great but no parent is perfect all the time. And I don’t want to raise this child on my own if you want to still be with me. So if you’re with me John tell me now.” Clasping my hands in front of me I tapped my foot nervously waiting for his answer.
He steps forward gently cupping my face in his hands kissing me gently. “It may scare the hell out of me but I would never abandon you and this baby of ours. It will be you and me together.”
“Thank you, John. You’ll be a good father I just know it.” Throwing my arms around his neck laying my head against his chest gently. He wrapped his arms around my waist holding me as close as possible being just as scared as I was yet we had each other and that meant we could probably do anything.

You’d been hanging out with Jisung a lot, but you were getting closer with your other roommates as well, and it was Changbin who was now peer pressuring you to go to a party.
“It’s just at Jeongin’s place! Which is also Minho’s place. And Hyunjin’s, and Seungmin’s, and Felix’s. It’s Jeongin’s birthday party.” He spread his arms. “So all our friends will be there! There’s no reason not to go!”
“Parties are boring, I don’t like dancing, and my old friends were a little…” You shook off the memories of the parties they used to throw. “Not a fan.”
“All due respect, fuck your old friends.” Chan walked out of the bathroom, pushing back his hair. “They sound awful.”
You forced a laugh. “Yeah, they… they were something.” You look down. “Kinda makes me feel bad to just shit talk them, though.”
“They deserve it.” Changbin nodded decisively, as if he’d declared a universal truth.
“Yeah.” Chan agreed. “Come with us, though. It’ll be fun.” He smiled reassuringly. “I promise.”
If I wasn’t so into Jisung, Chan would be pretty attractive. You thought. He had the hair, the kind smile, the eyes anyone would fall for.
Not quite your type, though. Your type was closing his room door behind himself, and it took all your willpower not to drop your jaw as you took in his appearance.
He was wearing a high-necked, quarter-zip black top with white stripes down the short sleeves. His jeans were ripped, his hair was fluffy, and he was wearing eyeliner.
He ran his fingers through said fluffy hair, ruffling it a bit. “Y/n, you coming?”
“I, er… I probably shouldn’t.” You did your best to recover.
“You should!” He leaned against the back of one of the armchairs. “It’s gonna be fun, we’ll all be there with you.”
The idea was becoming more and more appealing the more the boys talked it up—especially the idea of being there with Jisung.
You bit the inside of your lip. “If I go, will someone stick with me? I don’t want to be abandoned the second we step into the house.”
“Wow, how bad were your old friends?” Changbin raised his eyebrows. “We’re not going to just leave you.”
“Pretty bad.” You mumbled.
“‘Course we won’t leave you.” Jisung smiled reassuringly. “I’ll stick by your side the whole night.”
You pointed to him. “I’m gonna hold you to that.”
“So you’re coming?” Changbin looked excited.
You sighed. “I suppose.”
“Yay!” He clapped. “Go get changed!”
“What’s wrong with this?” You looked down at your t shirt and jeans. “I feel like it’s fine.”
“You should wear that top we got at the mall.” Jisung grinned.
Your face burned. “Let me go get it on.”
You got the top and a sweater on as quickly as you could and walked back out, doing a twirl for the boys.
Changbin clapped again. “You look great!”
“Yeah, you look really good.” Jisung’s eyes raked over you, and it might’ve been your imagination, but it sounded like his voice dropped just a bit.
“Yes, it’s a great top.” Chan smiled. “Lets’ get going, though. A little late is fine, good, even, but we don’t want to be too late to the party.”
The four of you walked off campus and to your friends’ house. It wasn’t snowing, but it was cold enough that you were glad you’d grabbed a sweater.
You rubbed your hands together, trying to be discreet as you mentally yelled at yourself for not wearing a single article of clothing with pockets.
Jisung reached out to take your hands, holding both of them in his. “Aw, you cold?”
“No.” Your body betrayed you, a violent shiver shaking through your limbs.
“Lies.”
“Shut up.” You bumped his shoulder.
“You shut up.” He bumped back.
“Just make out already!” Changbin said over his shoulder.
“Changbin!” Jisung let go of your hands to run up by Changbin, and you swallowed, looking down at the sidewalk.
You didn’t have to worry about being cold much longer, when you got to the house it was bustling with people and energy. Jisung waited back for you as Changbin and Chan went in, leaning into your ear. “You drink?”
“Yes.” You nodded. “If I’m going to survive the night I will need some alcohol.”
“We can do them together!” Jisung grabbed your hand, leading you inside. “I know where Minho hides the stuff he doesn’t want to share.”
“Won’t he be mad?” You laughed, letting him drag you into the throng.
“He’ll be fine.”
“Jisung!” An unfamiliar voice boomed, and both of you whirled around.
“Hey!” Jisung’s face split into a giant grin.
You loosened your grip, ready to walk away so Jisung could say hi to his friend, but his fingers tightened around yours, and he pulled you in with a move that gave you butterflies.
To your surprise, he introduced you to his friend, whose name you immediately forgot, and the three of you chatted for a moment before Jisung excused the two of you so you could go find drinks.
“What do you want?”
“Looks pretty picked over already.” You raised your eyebrows at the sad selection of cans.
Jisung shrugged, grabbing a beer and popping the tab open. “Eh, I’m not picky.”
“Mm.” You hummed, taking a hard seltzer.
“Wanna find Jeongin and wish him a happy birthday?”
“Yeah, any idea where he might be?”
Jisung took a long sip from his can. “No clue.”
“Helpful.” You grinned.
He winked. “I live to serve.”
You and Jisung walked out of the kitchen, and Jisung took your hand so you didn’t get separated as you wove through people. The feeling of his fingers around yours was sweet, welcome. He was so touchy, it was endearing.
You found yourselves back in the kitchen a few times, getting new drinks. You were a lightweight, and evidently so was Jisung, because it only took a few drinks for both of you to be giggly and even touchier than usual. And it was the kitchen, as you were doubled over and holding onto Jisung’s arm at something he’d said, when you saw her.
You felt cold, the smile slipping off your face. There was no way it’s actually her, right? You’d managed to avoid her around campus for the past few weeks, but as she threw her head back to laugh at something the guy she was talking to said, you couldn’t deny it. It was definitely Catherine.
“What’s wrong?” Jisung looked concerned.
“Old roommate’s here.”
He followed your gaze. “Her? Wait… Catherine?”
You looked at him in surprise. “You know her?”
Jisung sighed, looking annoyed. “Unfortunately. She dated Changbin for, like, two seconds, and she was… unpleasant.”
“To say the least.” You mumbled. “So, she’s Changbin’s ex? Why is she here?”
“I’m not sure.” Jisung squinted. “I dunno who she’s talking to.”
“Me neither…” You squinted, too, trying to make out anything about him, but he was facing away from you.
Catherine suddenly looked up, over the guy’s shoulder, to make direct eye contact with you.
“Oh, god.” You mumbled, looking away.
“Oh… and now they’re kissing.” Jisung sighed. You glanced up, and they were practically making out. Catherine kept her eyes on you.
I know what this is. I know her game. She’d made fun of you for being single half the time you’d lived together. This was a cruel extension of that, it was her rubbing in your face that she had a new guy who was neither her old boyfriend nor the guy she’d cheated on him with, and you still had no one.
Two can play that game.
You set your drink down on the counter. A part of you knew this was a bad idea, but the alcohol clouded your better judgement, and you looked at Jisung. “Can you help me with something?”
He blinked. “Huh?”
“She’s trying to make me feel single, and I’m not gonna let her… I need you to kiss me.” You looked at him with as much intensity as you could muster, your stomach dropping out like you were on a roller coaster as you said the words.
Jisung ran a hand through your hair, gently pulling you closer to his face by the back of your head. “And how do you want me to kiss you?”
You were sober enough to know you’d remember this in the morning, but drunk enough to say, “Like you’re in love with me.”
His gaze flickered down to your lips. “I live to serve.”
He slowly leaned towards you, and you had a brief moment of, oh my God, this is actually about to happen, I’m gonna kiss Han Jisung, before his lips met yours.
The kiss started gentle, tentative. Jisung’s hand carefully wove through your hair, combing through it, playing with it, and you let out a soft moan at how nice it felt. You melted into his lips, which pushed against yours in careful, practiced motions. Life can’t get any more perfect than this.
And then it did. Jisung deepened the kiss, his lips demanding more from you as he tangled his fingers in your hair. His other hand found yours, pulling it to his hip and holding it there. You tried to fight the urge to grab onto his shirt and pull him even closer, but the alcohol won, and you grabbed his neckline. He groaned, and sparks flew through you. It was low, and sexy, and you wanted to hear more of it.
You wondered how this would change things between you, but the thoughts felt far away, pushed deep into the recesses of your brain by his lips. Everything felt far away, the alcohol and the sensations Jisung was giving you mixing together to make this moment all that mattered.
Too soon, Jisung pulled back, panting, and rested his forehead against yours. You closed your eyes, trying to bring your own breathing back to normal.
“You did it.” You whispered.
“What?”
You looked up, met his eyes. “Kissed me like you’re in love with me.”

"Off to see your lover?" Turning around to your friend smirking at you. "Or should I ask which lover?"
"Maybe I'm going to see both." You wiggled your eyebrows making her laugh. Shuffling through your best lingerie deciding which one to wear.
"I can't believe you are actually sleeping with two professors." She shook her head. "It's a matter of time before you get caught."
"I'm not going to get caught Y/F/N." Rolling your eyes as you finalized your look.
"What happens if you do though?" She asked making you stop for a minute. "You will get expelled and two amazing teachers get fired, and possible sent to jail."
"That's not going to happen I promise you." You reassured her, but she still didn't look convinced.
She sat there on the bed watching as you adjusted your outfit so make yourself look more seductive. You knew she secretly judged you for what you were doing, but at the same time you knew that she envied you.
Nobody else on campus knew about this affair, and you planned to keep it that way. You never meant for it to go on this long, but you just couldn't help it.
Crazier thing is neither teacher knew about the other. They thought they were the only one, and the last thing you wanted was for them to find out about the other.
"Whatever happened to that one boy you were talking to?" She asked you once again. "He was really nice and quite good looking."
"Yeah he was, but he wasn't exactly on my level." That was true though he wasn't up to speed with your sex drive. If anything it would probably scare him off.
"Oh come on he was perfect for you." She tried convincing you once again.
"He was good for a one night stand and that's it." Looking over your makeup in the mirror. "I need someone that can handle me."
"And fucking two teachers is the answer to that?" You knew she wasn't asking a question, but was rather being a smart ass.
"Please can we not do this right now I don't want it to ruin my mood." Groaning as you put on your shoes.
"Don't wait up for me." Mumbling as you shut the door behind you without looking at her.
Walking down to your car as you tightened the coat around you. Hearing your phone buzz multiple times indicating someone was texting you. Pulling it out with a grin on your face.
From Chris: God I can't wait to feel between those legs.
From Chris: I hope your dripping for me.
From Chris: Baby you got my cock so hard and you aren't even here yet.
From Chris: I'm gonna fuck that pussy so hard sweetheart
Laughing to yourself at how worked up he already was for you. You were in for a long night ahead of you.
——————————————
"Chris." Choking out a moan as your back arched off the bed.
The smirk on his face grew even larger hearing you moaning his name. If anything it encouraged him to keep pounding into you harder.
"Can feel you squeezin my cock sweetheart." He chuckled as he watched your face contort in pleasure. "Such a tight little pussy for me."
Feeling your orgasm building up again as you turned your head to the side, and gripped the sheets beneath you. Biting onto the pillow trying to muffle your screaming.
"Say my name again baby." He whispered into your ear as he sharply thrusted inside of you making you squeal.
"Oh god Chris." Your toes curling against the bed as he tightened his grip on your hips. "Chris."
"Fuck that's it sweetheart let everyone know whose fucking you so good." His thrusting was slowing down, but just as powerful. "Such a good girl."
“Stuffed full of my cock.” He’s never felt more powerful and strong than he did right now.
Rotating his hips at a certain angle had your legs trembling. Leaning forward so he could attach his lips to yours. His mouth swallowing all your moans his movements never once missing beat.
"Your pussy so sweet it won't let me go." His stated matter of factly as his fingers reached down to rub your clit.
"God the sounds you make for me sweetheart." His eyes trained down to where his cock was disappearing. Your juices coating his cock making him groan at the sight.
Closing your eyes for a brief moment as the pleasure was taking over your body. Feeling a hand grip your chin making you open your eyes to see those sparkling blue eyes staring you down.
"Look at me when you cum around my cock." He growled as the veins in his neck popped out.
Leaning on his forearms so his hands were on either side of your face. It was such an intimate moment, but you found yourself entranced with his eyes. Like he was holding onto you and didn't want to let you go.
"Oh fuck right there." You screamed as he hit your sweet spot. The pleasure boiling to the top you felt you might explode. "Harder Chris."
Opening your legs even further so he could thrust deeper. The muscles straining to the point it was painful, but feeling his condition inside you motivated you to keep them open.
"Such a cock hungry slut for me." Groaning against the skin of your neck before his lips moved downward towards your breasts.
Sucking on the nipples turning them raw and hard. One of your hands reaching out to grip his hair as your senses were overwhelmed. Feeling him smile against your flesh as to how he was making you feel.
"Can feel how fucking close you are sweetheart." His words making your legs shake. "Pussy always begging for me."
The moans were just spilling from your lips you didn't care who heard you. Your body twitching and moving all around unable to control yourself anymore. The warmth was spreading through out your whole body.
"Cum for me baby." His voice straining as he was trying to control himself as well. "Cum around my cock."
"Be a good girl and squeeze that pussy for me." He encouraged with his filthy words. Feeling that burning in the pit of your stomach as you were on the edge.
His movements stopped as his cock remained still inside of you as your pussy clenched hard around him. Both of your groaning as you looked each other in the eye.
“We’re getting better at this.” He joked making you laugh.
“Told you practice would make perfect.” Giving him a sly wink a huge grin appearing on his face.
“I’m gonna have to wash these sheets cause of you.” Taking note of the wet spots underneath you.
“That’s your fault asshole.” Smacking his shoulder playfully at his comment.
“Yes I guess you’re right,” leaning his head towards your ear his lips brushing against your lobe, “I got that pussy gushing.”
Burying his head in the crook of your exposed neck giving you comforting kisses. Rolling over so he's on his back as well. The room is silent and you decide to get up, and start getting dressed.
"Are you spending the night?" Chris finally spoke. Before you could respond your phone vibrated.
Reaching over to grab it to see who it's from slightly smiling when you see the familiar name, and the timing couldn't have been anymore perfect.
From Miles: I miss your wet pussy
From Miles: When are you coming over slut?
To Miles: Soon! Keep your cock in your pants
From Miles: That's asking a lot sweetheart considering you didn't ask me to do that the other night.
"Who is that?" Chris asked making you put your phone away.
"Uh it was just my roommate." Turning around to look at him. "Just wants to know if I can help her with her essay."
"I mean I am a teacher maybe I can help." He chuckled as he got out of bed, and stood right in front of you wrapping his arms around your waist.
"As much as I would love to accept that offer I just can't." Pushing yourself away from him so you could get finished getting dressed.
"Why?" His voice sounded disappointed but also angry at the same time. "Got another date?"
"No of course not." You chuckled nervously. "I just told you my roommate needs me."
"If you don't want to spend the night with me just say it." His tone changing making your stomach churn.
"That's not it at all." You became defensive not liking being put on the spot light like that. "Besides this isn't anything serious."
"Yeah your right you're just some girl I'm fucking." His words a punch to your gut. Not believing he actually just said that to you.
First he wants you to spend the night with him, and then he turns around and says your just some girl he's fucking. Maybe he was just trying to hurt you, but still it was completely uncalled for.
"Right yeah of course go help your roommate." His warms hands left your body now leaving you feeling cold.
A part of you felt horrible for sleeping with two teachers, and keeping it a secret. At the same time thought you loved having the attention of two handsome men.
Chris was absolutely everything you wanted in a man. He was not afraid to give you what you wanted and more. Plus he had this sweet side to him that made your heart swoon.
The sex with him was incredible, and it was never vanilla. A lot of the times he would put your needs before his. If you wanted your pussy eaten out all day he damn sure would do it. Chris was every woman's dream man, and you didn't think you deserved him at times.
Miles though was a bad boy that every girl dreamed of having. He was rough and edgy and didn't want all that sweet sentimental shit. He was the type he wanted his cock sucked whenever he wanted it, and he would shove you out the door whenever he was done.
At first it turned you off but you couldn't stay away from him. He literally treated you like his own personal slutty slave. Although at times he did have his sweet moments.
"Leave the door unlocked I've got someone else coming over." His voice was harsh and empty towards you. As he walked away not even bothering to say goodbye.
Feeling your throat swelling up as you stood there in bewilderment. Out of the two of them you were starting to grow feelings for Chris. You were pushing him away and you hated doing that. Trying to keep the tears from falling you quickly walked out the door, and drove over to Sebastian's home.
——————————————
"Ride my cock you dirty little slut." His hands gripped your hips harshly they would definitely leave bruises.
"God your such a greedy little bitch for me." His hand came down hard on your ass that stung. "So eager to please me."
Moving your hips up and down as you tried to keep up with him, but he wasn't slowing down. Your thighs were starting to become sore, but it would be a waste of breath to tell him that.
Besides you didn't think you would still be horny after Chris, but you were. It was almost like Chris's words field the fire inside of you and you just became horny out of spite.
"Oh god fuck." You squealed as his cock was hitting your sweet spot over and over again. Your nails scraping down his chest leaving scratches. "Oh yes oh my god."
"Your tight pussy is squeezing my cock so hard." He groaned as he looked down to where you two were connected.
"Jesus just look at how soaked you are for me." Growling as he looked back to your face. "I want to hear you scream my name."
His hand slapped your ass multiple times sure to leave a hand print. It stung like hell but fuck did it feel good. That was one thing about Miles he loved to spank you so hard tears came to your eyes. You loved it just as much since the pleasure cancelled the pain.
"If only everybody knew what a cock hungry slut you are for me." He groaned as he watched you bounced up and down on his cock, your breasts moving up and down.
"Fucking your teacher like this." He always loved throwing that fact in your face. "Might have to fuck you in my classroom next."
"You're just a filthy little whore." He thrusted sharply into you with each single word. "All mine to fuck whenever I want."
"Go on for me slut let everyone know who is fucking the shit out of you." His hand reached up to grip your throat so he was choking you. The sensation was bringing you even more pleasure as you felt your cheeks heating up.
Both of your hands wrapped around his to keep it there. You could feel yourself climbing over the edge and it was a matter of minutes before you were to your orgasm.
"I own this pussy." His voice deep as he looked straight into your eyes. "This is my pussy to fuck."
"Such a greedy slut for my cock." Your eyes were rolling into the back of your head.
"I'm gonna cum." You wailed as you felt the urge to go hitting you right in the stomach. "Shit shit shit."
"Soak my cock baby." He commanded you as one of his hands crept downwards to rub your clit harshly. "I can feel that pussy squeezing me."
"Oh my god." You screamed as your entire body shook and your orgasm smacked you in the face. Tears forming in your eyes with the intensity.
"Fuck me that's it." Miles groaned as his cock twitched inside of you. "So fucking good."
His hand lightly tapping your ass making you giggle. Whenever his playful side made an appearance you couldn't help but get all giddy and warm inside.
Both of you sweating and breathing heavily as you sat on top of him. No words were said as he moved making you get off of him. His cock slipping from your body making you hiss.
The room was quiet as you awkwardly sat there with his and your cum dripping from your pussy. Wondering if you should just leave or make small talk.
"I'll be on my way then." You mumbled as you hopped off the bed, and started to put on your clothes. Putting your clothes on when a voice called out.
"Wait." Turning around towards Miles surprised he was talking to you. Usually once you two were done he would say a word or two, but he never asked you to stay. It was a silent agreement you two had.
A look of hope written across your face that he would ask you to stay or something. Maybe things were looking up with Miles. Your heart was pounding as you stood there waiting for his next words.
"Get my smokes for me." Your jaw almost dropped to the floor. That's all that asshole wanted was for you to get his smokes. In disbelief you grabbed his smokes and tossed them to him.
What in the actual fuck was going on today? First with Chris and now with Miles. Getting the best kind of sex you could ever imagine only to be treated like absolute dog shit the next. Today wasn’t your day, and all that excitement you felt with them was starting to disappear.
Miles, you weren't really surprised he was treating you like this, but he had you thinking for a split second he wanted to talk or that he would start treating you differently. Silently hoping Miles would show you his sweet and romantic side for once.
He started to play on his phone without even glancing your way. You were so uncomfortable you honestly couldn't even just walk out the door, but that's exactly what you did.
Slamming the door behind you hoping he got the message. Pulling your phone out of your purse dialing the one number you probably shouldn't be calling. Right now you were feeling a little bit upset, and thought if you apologized to him you’d feel better.
Standing in front of his house as you looked down at the ground in shame. Praying he would answer, but not being surprised if he didn't. He probably didn't want to speak with you right now.
Hearing the call go through all of a sudden you heard ringing around you. Looking at your phone wondering why it sounded like the call was coming from right in front of you.
Slowly raising your head to see what was going on you saw Chris standing in front of his car with his phone in his hand while it was still ringing. A stoic look on his face while you stood there in shock. Your entire body went cold, and your face felt numb.
"Fuck." Quietly whispering to yourself when you realized the situation you were now in.
He had this dark and dangerous look in his eye you were almost scared of him. Unable to speak as you just stood there and stared at him. Watching his jaw clench, and the hand by his side clenching into a fist. He was trying so hard to restrain himself right now. He wanted to bend you over his car, and spank you so hard you begged him to stop.
"I think you have some explaining to do sweetheart." You heard Miles voice behind you making you jump as a shiver ran up your spine.
“You’ve been a very naughty girl.” Chris tsked as he slowly approached you. Miles wrapping his arms around your waist feeling his erection pressing into your back side. “Fucking two men. Two teachers at that.”
“What should we do with her?” Miles said to Chris as he nibbled on your ear biting down making you whimper.
“I’d say she needs to be punished.” Chris smirking as Miles smacked your backside a gasp escaping your lips. “Until we feel she’s learned her lesson.

A Destination Wedding Frank x Fem!Reader Fic
Attending the wedding of your ex-fiancé gets slightly better when you meet someone having just as miserable a time as you... Warnings: Nothing too serious holy shit. Cursing. Broken engagement. Nihilism, existential bullshit, copious amounts of sarcasm. Eventual nsfw, not this chapter. Angst. Grump/sunshine trope. Loosely based on the movie but I'm not that smart. Or bitter. chapter map.

The Gate to Hell
You’re not sure what it is about airports, that somehow makes them feel like a special little extension of the circles of Hell. Or maybe purgatory, is more the like. All you do there is wait, and wait and wait, praying that soon it will be time to move on.
It probably doesn’t help that you’re absolutely fucking dreading your destination ahead.
Frankly, it will be a miracle if you survive this weekend with your sanity intact.
And then, there’s this dude behind you. You keep seeing him out of the corner of your eye. He just keeps pacing back and forth, rolling his stupid bag with him, and you just want to whirl and tell him to be still or sit the fuck down.
Instead, he comes to stand next to you.
You give him a glance. And then, you’ll admit, a double take, because he is stupidly handsome, even while frowning, staring churlishly at the flight monitor as though it had personally insulted him. And, to add insult to injury, he is tall. And well dressed in jeans and a button down and a nice sports jacket. And you inwardly sigh for some indefinable reason that has to do with longing and your acceptance that the universe does not bestow such gifts upon you for free.
“Nice dress.”
You blink, not having expected him to speak to you.
“Thanks.” It’s a 50’s style robin’s egg blue halter swing dress, your favorite color. You needed some bright color therapy, to face the hell you’re about to be stepping into.
“Is there a sock hop in San Luis Obispo I’m missing?”
You guess with your cat-eye Dolce and Gabbana sunglasses, you do look rather on brand.
From his sardonic tone you’re not sure if he’s making fun of you. “All the cool kids are going.”
You kind of deliver it like a dig, and you see the corners of his mouth twitch. “Ah. That explains everything.”
You look him over. He…really is ridiculously handsome, if you’re being honest. High cheekbones. Trimmed beard. Piercing eyes. Casually well dressed. A bit older than you, not that that’s ever stopped you.
“I hope our flight’s on time.”
You check your phone app for the airline. “Supposed to be.”
“Let me guess. You’ve got an app for that?” The way he says it, just this side of snide, like you fucking millennials—it kind of pisses you off. And maybe you’re overly sensitive to patronizing comments from older men, but with your history you have a right to be.
“Do you have a problem with me?”
He stands up a little straighter. “What?”
“Like what’s your deal? I was just standing here minding my own business, while you’re creeping around behind me—”
“I was not creeping. I was trying to see the board.” He gestures at the display screen by the gate.
You look him up and down. That’s a tall drink of water, if you’re being honest. “Because Mr. six foot six over here can’t see over my head—”
“I’m only 6’1”—”
“Okay, 6’2” in your shoes, and then you come up here, give me a backhanded compliment, and make fun of me for having the means to keep track of what’s going on with our plane?” You glare at him. “Holy shit, are you trying to neg me?”
“I don’t…even know what that means.”
“Ok, boomer.”
“I am not a boomer.”
“Whatever.”
Then he has the gall to step away—in front of you.
“Seriously?”
“What?”
“You’re going to butt ahead in line too?”
“On a flight that holds eight people?”
“Wow. Ok, be my guest.” You wave him on, and he rolls his eyes. Then you have to stand there, and look at his stupidly broad shoulders in that nice sports jacket, and his dark softy waving hair that just brushes his collar…you’re not going to look at his butt.
You’re not.
Your eyes slide down.
Fuck, but that’s a nice caboose.
The Fight Or Flight Response
As you sit in your backseat of the plane, there is one seat left beside you, and when you see who boards last you want to throw yourself down the stairs before they close the door.
“Anyone want to trade seats?” he asks, bent over practically in half, he’s so tall and the plane is so small.
Crickets.
With a resigned grumble he settles into the seat next to you, as though the world might end if he has to spend a handful of minutes in your general proximity.
Then, of course, the universe further conspires to embarrass you by sending you a defective peanuts bag, which you cannot for love or money get to tear open.
“Dear god, tear it at the notch,” grouses the rude man beside you, driven insane by you fighting with it.
“There is no notch.”
He’s there with his big hand extended, making an annoyed give it here gesture. It’s distracting, truly, how long and elegant his fingers are.
“Give it here.”
“I’m fine.”
“Give. It. Here.”
You’re so disgusted with this whole day, you hand it over. Then watch with smug delight as he can’t get it open either. Finally, he uses his teeth in his frustration, undoubtedly spitting all over it. When he tries to hand it back to you, you raise an eyebrow at him. “Really?”
With a sigh, he offers you his less molested bag.
You take it like accepting his sword on the battlefield.
You both make faces as you quickly find that the seasoning on the nuts tastes like hot trash, and you reckon it’s probably a metaphor for how the next few days are going to go.
This is going to be the weekend from hell.
“So what brings you to San Luis Obispo?” the man asks resignedly, almost like he can’t quite stop himself from talking to you. There is an exhaustion in his tone that would have pulled at your heartstrings, if you weren’t so generally pissed off.
“You don’t have to try to talk to me.”
He shrugs, throwing up those big, beautiful hands in a gesture of annoyance. You can’t help but stare at them—they really are a menace.
“Just trying to be pleasant.”
You can’t stop the bark of laughter that escapes you at hearing that. He frowns over at you, and you cover your mouth, hiding your smile. You know you must look like a crazy person—but it’s just too ridiculous.
“Was it that funny?”
You sigh, and for some reason you feel better after the involuntary outburst. Okay. Maybe you can make an effort. No one is ever in a good mood at the airport, after all. “I’m actually going to Paso Robles.”
“Row-bulls.”
“It’s pronounces ro-blays.”
“Everyone says Row-bulls.”
“Well, not the fucking Spanish who named it.”
He looks away again with that thunderhead of a frown. Why does he have to look extra handsome, when he’s pissed off?
You sigh again. “Look, I’m sorry. I swear, I’m not always such a bitch. It’s just…this fucking wedding I’m going to.”
This catches his attention; he turns to look at you like a hawk zeroing in on a mouse. “Not…Keith and Anne’s wedding?”
“How do you fucking know Keith and Anne?”
“Keith and I share a mother.”
“Holy shit, you’re Frank?”
“Who are you?”
“I was engaged to Keith, years ago.”
“Oh my god, you’re y/n.”
You can sense by the way he says it that you’re infamous in the family’s lore. It’s been a long time, but still, it fills your heart with a familiar leaden despair.
You close your eyes, and look away.
“You’re just as horrible as Keith always said,” you say to the window.
“I find you equally disagreeable, I assure you.”
waiting for death the car
“There was supposed to be a car,” Frank grouses the second you exit the airport. Patience is clearly not his strong suit.
“The flight was early.”
“But it seemed so long.”
It’s a good dig, truth be told, and the corners of your mouth twitch despite yourself. You sit down on a bench, and to your surprise he sits on the other, though on the side closest to you. “So what the hell are you doing here?” he asks. “Didn’t Keith break your heart?”
“Shattered it into bits.”
“Well?”
“I was invited.”
“And…you’re a masochist?”
“Look, I’m not…whatever Keith must have said I am. I was practically a fucking child when he started dating me. It was not…” It was perfectly legal, of course, but the imbalance of worldly experience, looking back, had not been kosher.
You feel the tide of all the pain and insecurity that man caused you raise up in your heart. Usually you’re pretty good at shoving that shit down down in the deepest dungeon you can, like a healthy person, but the wound is feeling a little fucking raw at the moment, considering.
“Keith is an asshole who only cares about himself. I am aware.”
You sigh, and the tide miraculously recedes. Goddamn. It almost feels like he’s on your side.  “Okay, yeah. There you go.”
“Why do this to yourself?”
“You know, before he broke it off, we had a fight the night before because I told him I would never get breast implants, of all fucking things, and Keith told me I would never amount to anything without him.”
“Sounds like something asinine he would say.”
“I wanted to go back to school, and he didn’t like it. He wanted a Stepford wife, and I was becoming alarmingly aware of the world outside his own making of it, the way children do when they grow up. If you’re wondering why he dumped me.”
“That tracks perfectly.”
“He invited me to be a shit and rub my nose in it, so…I’m here as a fuck you. I wanted to show him I’m doing fine.”
“Are you?”
“Yes, actually.”
“You do seem rather well adjusted.”
“Yeah, fuck you too.”
This, surprisingly, makes him smile a little.
A few moments of slightly less awkward silence pass before he asks, “So what did Keith tell you about me?”
“Oh, he told me plenty.”
“Such as?”
“What does it matter?”
“Don’t do that,” he snipes. “Don’t dangle the tidbit then refuse to deliver it.”
“Fine. He said you’re a grouch who hates everyone.”
“Oh. I was afraid he might have said something untrue.”
You glance over at his ridiculously well-sculpted profile. He glares ahead, his brows furrowed, and you strangely get the sense that maybe…he’s a little sad for it.
At fucking last, the shuttle car from the hotel arrives.

“It’s a myth!”
“Google says differently.” You argue, shaking your head.
The metal phone pole shooting out of the ground ahead is the subject of a now heated debate. Breath fogging in the freezing air in front of your mouths, you and Jun go round and round until you're blue in the face and he’s screaming comically.
“Oh and you just believe everything you read on the internet?” He quips, whites of his eyes showing.
Huffing at the nerve, you respond. “When it’s between that and getting my tongue stuck to a pole, yes. I do.”
“It’s an urban legend and I’ll prove it. Watch.”
You don’t move to stop or argue with him. If he wants to be an idiot, you’ll at least get front row seats to the show.
Jun approaches the telephone pole, hesitating for moment before the tip of his wet muscle makes contact with the icy steel.
“See? Erithing is fin. I tolb you it wass a mth.”
“You’re stuck aren’t you?”
“Nuh.”
“Okay, then we should head back. The boys are probably missing us.” You smirk, walking away while Jun remains frozen to his spot.
“Wat!”
Stopping, you don't turn back but call over your shoulder, “What was that?”
“Pwese.”
“Please what?”
“Um stuhc.”
“I’m sorry, I didn’t catch that.”
“Hulp me!” He whines, feet stopping like a toddler.
Rummaging in the bags from the convenience store, the entire reason you braved the snowy street in the first place, you find a bottle of water. Lucky for Jun you’d read how to get someone unstuck when your debate first started.
“If I help you, I want you to say ‘You were right, Y/N.’ Got it?”
“Dill.”
“Alright, lean back.”
Jun goes as far as his tongue will let him as you pour the water to slip between the pole and his mouth. Nearly half the bottle trickles to the ground before he makes any progress, the sides slowly defrosting and coming free. He manages to wiggle the rest away once the pour slows to a faint trickle, wincing at the sting of his numb taste buds.
“Now,” you start, tossing the empty container back in your bag. “Who was right?”
Jun grumbles before admitting under his breath, “You were.”
“Nuh-uh. The full thing.”
“You were right, Y/N.”
“I know.” You smile like the cat that got the canary. “Does it hurt?”
“Why? Wanna kiss it better?” He wiggles his eyebrows suggestively.
“Considering you just licked a public city pole, I’d rather die.”
“Come on!” Jun huffs, following behind you as you continue back to your apartment.

Alone || Strangers
Tumblr media
The group had been travelling for a few months, after they had fled the burning farm, luck had not been on their side, as they travelled from town to town, staying anywhere they could find, which was never for long.
Spirits were low, the weather was cold, and the food was limited.
"This place is a deadend." T-Dog stated, huffing as he looked around the ghost town once more.
"There has to be something, just for a night" Glenn sighed, his usual puppy dog expression on his face.
"What about over there?" Daryl pointed at a house down the street, it seemed to be the only one that was still fully intact or  not covered in scorch marks and missing structure.
"Worth a shot." T-Dog shrugged, walking towards the car that Rick and his family were sat in. "We're gonna have a look down there, you coming?"
"Might as well, looks like a safe bet" Glenn bent down looking into the window. "Every other house was empty, like someone had come in and raided the whole street clean, not even walkers roaming around."
"We'll leave the cars here, any sign of trouble, we run back here and go. Just like always." Rick opened the driver door, stepping out the car, signalling all the passengers in the other cars to get out as well. "I want everyone on high alert, something could be lurking in any dark spot."
The group advanced to the house, Rick led Lori, who had shrugged off his arm once already.
"Eurgh, it reeks" Carl groaned once they got closer, pinching his nose to stop the eye watering stench entering his senses.
"Found where they were all hiding." Daryl grumbled, staring at the moat of walkers around the property.
"What the-"
"Whoever done this, they're probably in there" Glenn commented.
"An' they're creative." Daryl pulled a dart out of one of the walkers forehead.
"They're a Psycho" Maggie winced, an arm around Beth as she looked around the street once more.
"Glenn, T, with me, we'll find the son of a bitch." Daryl assured, walking towards the house with his crossbow aimed ahead.
Glenn stood next to the front door, his hand hovering over the handle as he waited for the all clear.
Daryl nodded, letting Glenn throw the door open, The redneck rushing in, to halt in the door way.
"Take another step closer, Asshole. You can join the others out there." A woman's voice threatened, a gun was aimed at his heart, instead of his head, like a normal person. An blue-merle-furred border collie beside her, growled at the man.
"Woah" Glenn stood behind Daryl, throwing his hands in the air in surrender.
"You manage to do all that?" Daryl asked her, scowling at the small brunette woman who was dressed in a dark tank top and blue and white pleated pyjama bottoms.
"Keeps the dead away, mostly keeps strangers away too, so take the hint and leave."
"The door was unlocked" Glenn said.
"Yeah, I saw you guys coming, don't look like the type to knock, and I kinda need the door."
"Rick, it's a woman" T-Dog called out towards the leader.
Rick ran into the house, watching the scene as he too threw his hands up in surrender.
"You can put the gun down, no one's here to hurt you." Rick told her.
"Who said they could, what are you doing here?"
"Me and my people, we're looking for a place to stay, just for the night, this is the only house in shape, we don't want no trouble." He explained, walking closer towards her. "My name is Rick, just put the gun down."
"This house is taken" She tightened her fist around the gun.
"Please, we just need shelter for the night, my wife is pregnant, I have a son here."
"What kinda stupid bitch gets knocked up at a time like this?" The woman laughed.
"Either you let us stay or we will anyway" Daryl growled.
"You know, you're not the first person to say that to me, and the rest are all out there cuddling together." She nodded once more at the safety circle, tired of these people, already.
"They were people?" Glenn asked, his skin paling.
"In some sense. They underestimated me, fucked around and found out, that's what."  She explained, her brows furrowed.
"Rick, lets go, this chicks whacko." T-Dog shook his head.
"No, we haven't found something like this in a while." He held his other hand up to the man.
"You should listen to your friend." She warned. "Nuh uh, Buttercup" She took out a small throwing knife aiming it at the blue eyed redneck who had attempted to sneak around the living room towards her. "How far along is she?" The woman asked Rick, her eyes moved around the group of men, eying them all carefully.
Rick looked at her in confusion.
"Your wife, how far along is she?"
"Far enough" Daryl answered for him.
"All we're asking is for one night, then we'll be gone tomorrow." Rick pleaded his case.
"Looks like you got enough supplies to share." T-Dog noted, looking around at the mass amount of weapons, food, first Aid, medicine, and various other things.
"Worked out who the town looter is." Glenn commented.
"How'd I know that if I let you in, you ain't just gonna kill me and take my stuff?"
"Cause we're good people." Carl had walked into the house, standing near his father, the woman smirked at the obvious frustration on the mans face. "We're not like that."
"Cute kid." She glanced at her dog, who had stopped growling as he layed down, placing his head on the woman's boot. "How many of you are there?"
"Ten of us."
"Woah, band of thieves, what's the secret?" She teased.
"Loyalty, trust, we look out for each other."
"But we've lost people too, others, our family" Lori had walked into the house, clutching her swelled stomach. "Good people."
The woman looked around the house.
"What are you looking for?" Lori asked.
"For whoever gives a shit, lady. You ain't the only people on this earth."
Daryl let out a snort as he leaned against the wall beside the window, aiming his crossbow at the woman, waiting for a signal from the ringleader.
"Might as well tell the others to come in before they end up inviting themselves in" She said, finally, moving down the shotgun, giving up. Either she could let them stay on her terms, or they were gonna stay on their terms, and her most probably dead, there was more of them, than her. She knew when to pick her battles.
"Thank you" Rick told her, gesturing to Daryl to lower his crossbow. "Your name?"
"Natalia, Natalia Moore, Rick, who are all these people I'm letting in my house?" She arched a brow as more people filtered into her home.
"My name's Glenn, and my girlfriend, Maggie" The Korean introduced himself and the short haired brunette.
"An' my sister Beth, my daddy, Hershel" Maggie said, nodding her head to the teenage looking blonde and the old man beside her.
"Hi" The teenage girl smiled at Natalia.
"Lori, and our son, Carl" The pregnant lady placed her hands on the boys head, who pushed away from her.
"T-dog, this is Carol" The black man who was still skeptical of the woman, introduced himself and the shy timid woman with short cut hair.
Carl moved out the room, his gun pointed ahead of him as he decided to scope out the house.
"Glenn" Maggie told her boyfriend, nodding her head in the direction the young boy went.
The dog by Natalia got up, heading towards the redneck at the window, nudging his head against the mans leg, who was quick to look around and gingerly brushed his hand across the dogs back.
"Sully, now" She glared at the man that was stealing her dogs attention, the dog walked back towards the woman, his head bowed as he layed down on the other side of her.
"So is it just you here, by ya self?" The blonde girl, Beth asked, she seemed sweet, talkative.
"Yes." Natalia stated, her eyes shifting towards the people in the room, trying to read their expressions.
"From the start?" Maggie asked
"No, it was me and my boyfriend, then he tried to eat me in the middle of the night."
"Was he bit?"
"No, he was fine, wasn't sick either."
"The virus, it's... we all got it, must've died in his sleep, we're all infected." Rick sighed. "Don't need to be bit."
"Figured that out when I put a candlestick in his head" She looked up at the leader, her gaze icy, her face made of stone.
"I'm sorry, honey." Lori sighed.
"Why, you didn't know him, piece of shit's out there keeping me safe right now." She nodded towards the window, past the man who had yet to introduce himself, but he was still studying her. "You lot look starving, must be hard out there."
She got out from her seat, towards the huge pile of food, picking out cans, packs of snacks and water bottles, passing them around.
"We were on a farm" Rick said.
"It was my farm, then it was overrun." Hershel, the man who Natalia thought looked a lot like Santa told her. "A while ago, now."
"Shit, that's all you've been doing since, going from house to house, to house?"
"Anywhere with a roof and four walls." Carol spoke up for the first time.
"That's a risky way to raise a baby" She looked at Lori, raising her brows in mock shock.
"Guess it's because I'm a dumb bitch that decided to get knocked up" Lori retorted.
"Glad you agree." She rifled through some stuff, pulling a bottle out, handing it towards Lori. "Kid's ain't safe in this world."
"Are you-"
"No, guessed some idiot would come along and need them." Natalia explained dropping the prenatal vitamins in Loris lap.
"Thanks" She opened the bottle quickly, ignoring the comment.
"You lot can get comfy upstairs, I don't really go up there, it's pretty tidy."
"Nah" The redneck replied. "We stay together, close to exits, where we can see enemies."
Natalia shrugged, heading towards the hallway as everyone squeezed to get out of her way. "Don't touch my stuff." She said, her gun in hand. "Sully, speak if trouble" She instructed her dog, who gave a quiet woof in response. "Good boy."
The woman headed upstairs, T-Dog checked to see if she hovered.
"Why don't we just take all this and dip?" He suggested.
Lori looked at him as if he had said something offensive.
"She's freaky" Glenn who had re-joined them again with carl, shivered.
"She's alone and scared, surviving." Hershel countered "Something happened, something awful."
"I wouldn't even be able to sniff fear off 'er" Daryl shook his head, pacing in front of the window.
"She let us in, we're not sabotaging that, but we will keep an eye on her, stay on alert, all of you." He looked at Daryl, who nodded.
"She killed some of those people, let them turn then shoved them outside and used them for target practise." Maggie said. "Gathered every walker in the neighbourhood to scare people away, sounds pretty crazy to me."
"Not everyone's as nice an friendly as you people" Natalia had come back downstairs, her hands full of blankets and pillows. "I don't kill for the high, if you can't appreciate that, you can get out my house." She dropped the comforts on the floor, heading back upstairs.
"I'll go talk to her, see how long we can stay here, just for a lil while." Rick decided. "Find out what she's all about, we don't need another killer around us."
"I thought that was only you." Lori muttered, as she faced away from her husband.
Rick shook his head as he left the room, heading upstairs.
He walked into the only door open, a window faced the street as Natalia sat in front of it, a dart in her hand as she aimed.
"I wanted to thank you." Rick started.
"You already did." She stayed focused, not bothering to look at him.
"For the food too, and the vitamins."
"It's reckless." Natalia looked at him as he sat down next to her. "Having a baby, a thousand things could go wrong, it's not safe."
"It wasn't exactly planned" Rick shook his head, rubbing a hand around the scruff on his face.
"I meant it when I said I wanted you gone by tomorrow, it's a risk having you people here."
"You can't survive on your own, you need people."
"I don't, people are unpredictable, weak." She picked up another dart, aiming it.
"Not when you can trust them, not when you're a family, we fight for each other and we defend each other. You could be apart of that."
"You said it yourself, we all have it, we all die, its a matter of when and where, you can't estimate it, your wife could drop dead, that baby growing in her could, then that baby eats her from the inside out, she turns, you don't know when, what if you're all asleep, what if your scavenging, and it's just her and those kids and the old guy, you sure they could defend themselves, could the boy against his own mother? People are a risk to each other, no matter if you're all holding hands and dancing around together."
"And it's still a risk apart, there's not much you can do to prevent anything, but we're damn well stronger as one, that's how we survive, that's how we got this far."
"And the people you lost?"
"They're people we keep with us everyday, as a reminder to go on, and a lesson. We had a man with us, named Dale, and when something was taring our group apart, he tried to mend it, and keep us all on our moral compass, even in his dying breath."
"Have you ever killed anyone, Rick." Natalia suddenly asked.
"Yes." He looked down at his hands.
She admired his honesty, but knew he didn't sleep easy about it.
"Before or after?"
"After, I was a deputy sheriff, before this."
"Why?"
"To protect my family and my home, I wasn't given a choice."
"But the feeling never leaves you, does it?"
Rick shook his head.
"I'm not crazy, I'm just surviving, just like you and your people."
"Is this the only house you've been in"?
"No, but I got here early on, when we realised all the safe zones were taken over, this street was pretty stranded, it was my boyfriend that used to deal with them mostly. I was weak and scared, I'm not now, I did that by myself, I've been on my own for about 5 months now. I've met bad people since then, sick people, who thought I was an easy target."
"You gotta know, that a few herds are headed in this direction, from different areas, and when they join up, you won't be able to get out of here on your own."
"No, but I won't make it easy for them either." She watched as Glenn, Maggie, Daryl and T-dog had parked their vehicles closer to the house. "The one on the bike."
"Daryl."
"He's-"
"He's a survivor too, one of the best I've ever seen."
"Oh, I believe that, he doesn't seem to scare easily, and Sully likes him."
"Daryl's a good one."
"That's what I find hard to believe, he ever killed anyone?"
"One, he was dying, took him out of his misery."
"Your people can stay until that herd gets here."
"That's looking like a couple of days, we'll find something, you should come with us."
"You don't know me." She passed him a dart.
"I know enough." He aimed the dart, as the three walked back towards the house, Narrowly missing Glenn as it landed in the head of a dead roamer.
"Nice shot" She let a little smile grace her face. "Bet I can get the one over there." A lone roamer was walking down the street. She aimed, throwing enough strength into the dart to let it flow through the air and take the roamer down.
Daryl, who had been fixing his bike noticed the body fall near him and looked up at the open window at Natalia then shared a look with Rick.
"That was impressive." Rick said.
"Yeah, well, there isn't much on TV anymore."
When the time had come, and Rick had asked her if she would leave with them, she eventually chose to join, her dog swaying the choice with the fact that he had chosen to follow the group instead of stay by her side, which helped, Sully doesn't like Strangers.
"We got no place left to go" Rick had said.
Natalia had been with them for 2 months now, they hadn't advanced from her home, continuing to scavenge and live from place to place, though, the rest of the supplies they had packed, made things the slightly bit easier.
Not everyone in the group liked or trusted her yet, which was fair enough, because she felt the same way about them. But no one could deny that she was a survivalist, she was a powerhouse, and resourceful too, what she seemed to lack, was an emotional side, which Hershel had guessed due to some sort of trauma and lack of trust or knowledge about the group.
"When this herd meets with this one, we'll be cut off. We'll never make it South." Maggie said, gesturing around the map.
"What would you say, that's about 150 head?" Daryl asked.
"That was last week, could be twice by now" Glenn countered.
"Or triple" Natalia shrugged.
"This river could've delayed them." Hershel stated. "If we move fast, we might have a shot to tear right through there."
"Yeah but If this group joins with that one they could spill out this way." T-dog pointed out.
"So we're blocked." Maggie sighed.
"Only thing to do is double back at 27 and swing towards Greenville."
"That's where abouts I was, dead end." Natalia reminded, shaking her head.
"It's like we spent the winter going in circles." T-dog said.
"Yeah. I know, I know. At Newnan we'll push West. Haven't been through there yet. We can't keep going house to house. Need to find some place to hold up for a few weeks." Rick decided.
"But does that place exist?" Natalia asked.
"It does, we'll find it." Daryl said.
"Alright, is it cool, if we get to the Creek before we head out. Won't take long. We got to fill up on water. We can boil it later."
"Knock yourself out." Rick said as everyone headed off.
"How you doing?" Natalia asked Lori.
"The baby's a kicker, mind helping me up?"
Natalia laughed as she helped the woman out of the car.
"Nat, we're gonna go hunt, you coming?" Daryl asked, Sully by his feet.
"My choice has already been made for me" She glared at her dog, as she pulled her Knife out from the sheath. "Traitor" She patted her dogs head as they headed towards the woods.
"She hasn't got much time left Rick, I give it two weeks max." Natalia said in a low voice as they walked along tracks.
"I know, we'll find something." Rick assured.
Sully let out growling sounds as they neared the breaking of forestry.
"What's it, boy?" Daryl asked, his crossbow raised.
The three looked around to what the dog had spotted.
"That's a shame." Daryl said as they stared at the prison that seemed to be overrun.
"It could work." Natalia shrugged, "If we can figure out how to get rid of those friendlies."
"Let's go get everyone, I have a plan." Rick decided, turning back.
"He knows I was joking, right?" She muttered to Daryl.
"Doesn't matter."
Soon enough, Rick had cut a hole through the fence and everyone was climbing through, Natalia was cutting the roamers off from the inside of the fence before they could reach Glenn and Daryl as they tied the fence back up.
The group ran around the trail of fencing, the dead Prisoners bashed into the fence from the field as they headed towards the main gate, an overturned bus in front of it.
"It's perfect." Rick said in a hushed voice as he took it in.
"It's a lot of work." Natalia told him.
"If we can shut that gate, prevent more from filling the yard, we can pick off these walkers. We'll take the field by tonight." Rick instructed.
"So how do we shut the gate?" Hershel asked.
"I'll do it, you guys cover me." Glenn stepped up.
"No, it's a suicide run." Maggie disagreed.
"I'm the fastest."
"No, you, Maggie, T and Beth draw as many as you can over there." Rick pointed at a section of the walkway. "Pop 'em through the fence. Daryl, you go back to the other tower. Carol, you've become a pretty good shot. Take your time, we don't have a lot of ammo to waste, Nat, you'll cover her blind spots.
Natalia saluted as she headed towards her designated spot with her teammates, as Rick continued to give out orders.
"You got this." Natalia winked at the older woman, as the three reached the top of the tower.
"Soon enough you'll have some competition." Carol played on.
"We'll see about that" She grinned as they both aimed. "Whoever can get the one closet to Rick's the winner."
"It's not a game." Daryl scowled.
"That cause you're too scared of losing?"
"Concentrate, Moore." He grunted, getting his Crossbow at the ready.
"Remember to breathe, you hold it and you end up shaking your hands and taking your gracious leader out." Natalia said as Rick headed out the gate and into the field.
Daryl took out a roamer that was beside Rick.
Carol shot the ground just before his feet.
"Sorry" She called out as he looked up at her.
Natalia shot the roamer that reached out at him as he closed the gate, causing it to fall backwards on another to block the gap that he was decreasing.
"I'll take my roses once we're done."
"Daryl can get you a Cherokee." Carol teased.
"How sweet."
"He did it." Carol pointed out as Rick disappeared behind a door.

Hey! Do you plan on doing an Exes2LoversAU with Zoro part 2 where they go though a similar situation three years ago, and reader fears the the same thing happens again where he’ll leave her, but this time, he doesn’t (the reader probably gained some kind of abandonment issues from last time)

“I know you work alone, but just think about it.”
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Zoro was sitting in another bar after helping Nami save her town. The crew sailed for a while before stopping at this island where the ex-pirate hunter was now indulging himself with a bottle of wine, but he stood out more than he would've liked to. You walk into the same bar, but you recognize those three swords anywhere.
You continue walking casually, pulling out your new dagger while you walk up to his barstool from behind. Once you were close enough, you poke the blade into his lower back and rest your chin on his right shoulder. Zoro’s eyes look to your face, his body still motionless.
“Long time no see again, Roronoa.” You whisper in his ear.
“It seems you have a knack for showing up when I least expect it.”
“Well, I gotta keep the pirate hunter on his toes; you might lose your edge.”
“I've faced stronger opponents than you, and I'll continue to do so." Zoro says, with a smirk, taking another swig of his wine.
You chuckle as you tuck the blade into your boot before sitting on the barstool to his right.
“Guessing you're not in this town because you knew I was here.”
"I could say the same about you; why are you here? You following me now?"
“Tch, following you? You wish. I was on this island first; I saw your floating clubhouse pull in just yesterday.”
"Hm. You didn't answer my question." He raises an eyebrow. "What are you doing here?"
“You know I go where the wind takes me. Literally. But I’m in this bar specifically for a lead.”
“Lead? You a detective now?”
“Relax, it’s for my own best interest.”
“Thank god, thought you might’ve been turned into some kind of saint.”
“Call it payback,” You say, taking a shot, “Some dickhead stole an entire pouch of berry from me in here yesterday. Was kinda hoping he’d come back.”
"And how'd you let that happen? You getting soft on me?"
“Go ahead, laugh.” You chuckle before taking another shot, “Not one of my proudest moments. The bastard lives in some big, fancy inn.”
“Inn, huh?” Zoro chuckles, sipping more wine, "You must be pretty desperate if you're going after someone who lives in an inn."
“Must you think so low of me, Roronoa? It's a luxury inn, meaning he's loaded; which is why I wanna know why he stole my shit.”
“I guess that means you're gonna have to find out." He asks, with a glint of mischief in his eyes.
“Thanks, I hadn’t noticed. Though...”
“Though?”
“If you're not busy with your little pirate club, you could help me get it back.”
He chuckles, “You...need help?”
“It's high class, so it'll be crawling with security, I bet. And besides, we haven’t seen each other since last time I wanted to kill you, so it'll be a....bonding...exercise.”
Zoro raises an eyebrow at your comment, a small smile on his lips.
"When do you want to go?"
“Ten.” You stand from your seat, putting a dollar on the bar for the bartender, “Can I trust you to meet me outside the Inn at 10 pm? Or do I have to deal with another heartbreak and drag you from your pirate friends?"
He smirks, "Kicking and screaming?"
"I would hope so. I mean, if it's okay with your captain, of course.”
Zoro finishes off his bottle of wine and then gets up from his seat.
“You have my word.” He says, tossing some coins on the bar before making his way towards the exit.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At 10pm, I was leaning on the wall outside the Inn, looking back and forth down the road, waiting for Zoro to round the corner. I groan in annoyance with myself before kicking a stray bottle near me, and when it breaks in the middle of the road, I swear under my breath for possibly alerting any guards inside as I start to pace back and forth, trying to console myself down.
"I knew it!" I chuckle in disbelief, "Just like when he left the first time. Ugh, can't believe I trusted him again!"
I punched the wall a couple times before kicking over a barrel, breaking and stepping into it with the heel of my boot.
"Fine." I pull my sword, squeezing the handle tightly. "I should've just handled it my-damn-self."
I take a deep breath, preparing to go through whatever happened inside, no matter how many guards there were between me and my stolen berry. I hear heavy boots stepping against the cobblestone, and I groan loudly, thinking it was passersby that didn't need to get in the way. But when I turn to the sound, I see Zoro approaching with one hand in his pocket and the other on one of his three swords. It was 10:10.
"Sorry, I'm late." He stops a couple inches from me, "You okay?"
"I...." My eyebrows furrow, and my brain fogs with confusion, "You....came?"
"I gave you my word."
"I don't know what your word is worth. We were enemies, remember?"
"Fair. Well, my word is my law—my promise."
"Then where the hell were you?"
"Well, coming out this late had me getting a lot of questions...."
"....Mm."
"And then I took a wrong turn when I got off the boat."
"I...." I stutter, looking away from him as the grip on my sword loosens, "Believe you."
"You sure you're okay? If you're not up to it, I could always get the money back while you wait here."
I snap out of it and look at him, "Don't you 'damsel-in-distress' me! I invited you, and I can handle myself. I just needed someone to watch my six."
"I know, cuz I wasn't going to. And look...I don't know if I said this when you found me at that bar," Zoro says, locking our eyes with a glance, "But I'm not leaving you again. Not if I can help it."
"...And if you can't help it?"
"I'll learn."
I stammer, not knowing how to respond as my heart races. I clear my throat and look at the Inn's front door, gesturing for Zoro to come closer. He gives a dark smirk as he moves, his eyes scanning the area for any signs of danger.
"Shall we?"

☆☆.
shadow.
shadows can be your greatest fear, not knowing what lies in the darkness ahead of you. an enemy, or is it your mind playing tricks on you?
it can also be a safe haven, a refuge from the blistering sun, or other things.
but that can simply be a facade, a trap for others to fall into.
using the shadows to your advantage can be lethal. being quiet, deliberate in your actions as you sneak up behind someone and take them out without causing alarm.
when harnessed correctly, shadows can be your greatest weapon.
. .
"i've got him in my sights. ready when you are." you said, staring at the back of your target's head through your scope.
you waited for confirmation, but no response came.
"captain?" you spoke, even momentarily taking your eyes off the man who isn't aware of what's about to be his untimely demise to inspect your radio.
"fuck." you wouldn't shoot without orders, having learned your lesson way back, during the mission right after you met ghost. that mission also led you to be called shadow.
you heard a crackle, and what you could make out to be, "go."
you immediately put your finger on the trigger, realigning your gun, and once you were ready, you let out a deep exhale and added pressure, the recoil always making you blink against your will. you watched as the man almost immediately slumped over.
"target down." you began packing up your gear and gun, trying to get to the rendezvous before anyone came to check out the noise.
"shadow. shadow, can you hear me? shadow, how copy?" you heard.
"captain? what's wrong?" you asked, already going down the stairs of the building, sprinting.
"did you shoot?" price sounded slightly worried.
"yes. didn't you give me the affirmative?" did you mishear him? fuck, the only reason why he wouldn't want you to shoot was probably because you shot the wrong target. "don't fucking tell me i shot the wrong person."
"no, you got the right one alright. i just need you to watch out. turns out a lot of people have already found out about your little assassination. they were ready for it. be careful making your way back. i've got a little surprise waiting for you here."
"a prize? you finally rewarding me for my hard work?" you chuckled, now on even higher alert for soldiers coming at you.
"honestly, it's up to you if you think if it's a prize."
"is it a medal? i fucking hate medals. the fuck am i gonna do with them?" you scowled, the balaclava you had on shifting as your nose scrunched up.
"nah, you might actually like this. just get here safe."
"i'm looking forward to this, price. don't disappoint me. or i'll make sure you won't touch another cigarette in your life." you grinned as you stuck to the darker areas, trying your best not to be seen by coincidence.
you paused, hearing loud footsteps. you could tell that it wasn't only one person, but multiple.
"fuck," you whispered under your breath. you took out your knife and strapped your gun onto yourself, ready to do some close combat.
you saw them turn the corner, seeing three men, all armed with guns. there was no way you were going to be able to take them all down, but you can hope that they wouldn't notice you.
you pulled your balaclava down even more on instinct, waiting for one of them to sound the alarm and shoot.
you stayed close to the wall, thankful for the shadows that were keeping you from their line of sight.
two of the men split off, turning left before they could make it to you, but one kept making his way over. as soon as he made it in arm's length to you, you quickly covered his mouth and lodge your knife into his throat, watching as he struggled.
"sorry man, i just had to." you frowned as you let him go to eventually die on the floor, retrieving your knife.
you continued on, realizing that the other two had went the way that you had to go. there was no other route that you could go on.
"fucking hell," you grabbed your gun again, ready to fire before the duo could notice you.
you followed them, and sooner or later you caught up. they kept walking, deep in conversation. letting out two quick shots, they had no time to react.
"that was unfair, wasn't it?" you said to yourself. as you made your way around the bodies, trying to get as far as possible before another group came along.
sadly enough, you couldn't get far enough before another trio intercepted your path, also all armed with guns.
you quickly raised your arms up. how the fuck were you getting out of this one?
"what are you doing here?" one of the men said, and you realized that you were far enough way from everyone you've killed for them to even known what you've done. maybe you could play off being one of them, but that would be very hard considering the fact your gear was so much different from theirs.
you looked at him questioningly as if you couldn't understand him, simply letting out a "huh?"
the trio looked at each other, then back at you. you weren't tricking anyone with the tactical gear you had on and gun in hand.
"come with us," one of them smirked. this fucking can't be good.
you knew you were outnumbered, especially with all of them having guns. there was no way you were going to be able to run away or get past killing one of them before you got shot down.
you nodded hesitantly, and the three huddled around you, one of them holding a metal barrel to your head. you could feel it through the fabric, and you began sweating. this was the closest to death you've ever been, and one wrong move could be the last move you would ever make.
they led you away from the bodies, and closer to where you were originally going to go, thankfully, and you made it to a big house, in better shape than all the other house around.
a cloth quickly made its way over your eyes, and someone pushed you to the floor, tying your legs together, but for some reason not tying your hands together, when that's the most useful thing you could have in this situation. you felt the weight of your gun being taken off your body and be set somewhere else.
"just wait a moment sweetheart, someone will be here to talk to you. they'll be so happy to see you," you could hear that guy smirk. when you got out of this situation, you would make sure you pinned his fucking balls to the wall.
you could feel their presence leave the room, and you went straight to your radio.
"price, you there?" you lowered your voice, not knowing when they could come back.
"shadow, where are you? you should've made it back by now." price responded.
"i've been captured. i'm in some big house, in better shape than all the houses around. it's not that far from the rv point. it's on the route i was taking."
"fucking hell. how many are there? you hurt?"
"i don't know. there was three men bringing me in, said they were going to go get someone. i haven't been hurt- yet." you heard a door open and slam shut, followed by what you guessed was four people.
"look who we have here. ain't you a pretty one, darling?" you made sure to take your hand off the transmission button after he spoke, so price wouldn't respond and get your radio taken away or even worse, cause you to be moved to a different building.
that must be the guy they retrieved, but what the fuck was he going to do with you. you stayed silent.
"not talkative, huh? been a while since i saw someone as cute as you walking around." you felt a force lift your chin up.
you knew that if you did anything too rash, they would shoot you. it's obvious they don't want you for any intel, so that means you're easily disposable.
"i've been looking for a sweet little girlie like you. wonder what you can do." he released you, and said. "why's her hands not tied?"
"didn't have enough rope, sir. you'll already have her tied up in that bed of yours anyways."
they all burst out in laughter and you frowned in disgust. that's what they were doing? you decided to try and get up, placing your hands on the floor to drag yourself upright, when something sharp pressed against your neck. ironic to be threatened in the same way that you killed one of their men.
"don't try anything." the guy you assumed was their superior crooned into your ear, making you shiver. and not in a good way.
sticking to not speaking, you nodded, and the blade's pressure disappeared from your neck.
"good girl," they praised, but you cringed inwardly. you would've smiled hearing that come from anyone else's mouth, especially a certain someone. a certain someone you wished could come save your ass already, but you haven't seen them in years.
simon really was a ghost. you let out a chuckle at your own thoughts.
"something funny?" another person questioned. you shook your head quickly.
"leave her here. and go get some more rope, you think some rope around her legs are going to stop here from leaving? fucking idiots."
you laid the side of your head down on the ground, and slowly began lifting up the blindfold around your eyes.
you heard the scrape of a chair, and then the guy, who you were going to call, "the boss", sat down with a sigh.
"who do you work for?" he asked. "nevermind, that's a stupid question. i bet you're with those fucking assholes who killed our leader."
you smirked a little. little did he know you were said asshole who killed him.
"fuck this. those bastards can't find anything even if it was up their ass." you could hear the rustle of clothes as he stood up and felt him grip your wrist.
"what the fuck are you doing?" you spat. you could take him on in a fight as long as no one walked in with a weapon.
"the only reason why you're still alive babe, is beca-" he was cut off by the sound of yelling and gunshots.
"is that your fucking friends?" you heard him growl.
you shrugged. "probably," you cheerily agreed as you grabbed onto his hand that was on your wrist and twisted it as hard as you could, causing him to yelp in pain.
he let go of you and you grabbed your knife, not needing to see where it was due to memory, and quickly cut through the ropes around your ankles, standing up before the boss tackled you, pinning you to the floor.
you didn't need to see to quickly flip him over, trained in being able to overpower even the strongest person. you brought your legs over his back and used your weight and his momentum to make you the one on top. you didn't know if he still had his knife on him, and didn't take any chances. you brought your blade down on his leg, and he howled.
taking this chance, you ripped the blindfold off and made eye contact with the person in front you, some ragged looking person who could be in his late 30s.
"disgusting." you spat as he held his leg, tears streaming down his face. you saw no weapon on him, and you weren't going to wait around for someone else to come along and attack you.
you got up, getting rope and tying his wrists together, doing what he and his men didn't do to you, and you knew he wasn't going to be walking anywhere anytime soon. you put the blindfold around his mouth and held a finger up to your lips.
"you should be more fucking quiet like a good boy." you stood up, running out the room with your gun to the commotion coming from the front of the house.
peering out from a corner to make sure you weren't going to run out into a bunch of bullets, you saw a familiar man with a mask, and four men on the floor, one in the grasp of who you never expected to see.
"nice to see you're alive, rookie." ghost said as the man he carried crumpled to the ground.
"rookie?" you raised an eyebrow, only to realize he couldn't see you do that since half of your face was covered.
"got a mask of your own?" he walked up to you, and he still had so much height over you, looking down at you as you looked up.
"personally, i think mine is much cooler. it looks better on me." you laughed.
"shadow, you there?"
"nice call sign, shadow," ghost let the name roll of his tongue and your cheeks heated up.
pressing a button, you responded.
"i'm here, price. is this your little surprise?"
"couldn't stop him from going. he was eager to retrieve you."
you shot a questioning look at simon, who wasn't looking at you anymore, but instead looking if anyone else was in the house.
"what are you even doing here?" you asked ghost.
"well, i came to help you guys find someone for your next mission, but i think you already found him," he pointed behind you, and you turned to see the piece of shit crawling over to the two of you. how he even made it this far was beyond you, using his soldiers to propel himself forward.
"this fucking bitch?" you scoffed.
"i see the two of you already met," he noted the stab wound in the man's leg and the rope around his wrists.
"you wouldn't believe what he wanted to do with me."
ghost narrowed his eyes.
"he wanted to do something with you?"
"how else do you think i'm alive right now?"
"sheer will. i heard you've gotten good at close combat." ghost went over to the man and crouched over, and the guy looked up in terror.
"what the fuck should we do with you?" he hummed.
"do we have to bring him back alive?" you asked. you would not hesitate to lift your gun and shoot him.
ghost didn't respond, instead going back over to you, placing a hand on your shoulder that made you jump in surprise. the last time you were this close was when he was taking debris out your arm on that first mission.
"do whatever you want. we don't need him."
you grinned. "yes, lieutenant."
☆☆.
you were happy to be back on the base. that was probably the biggest stroke of luck you've ever had, being captured by the stupidest enemies you've ever seen, and by so few of them being at the house with you.
price was happy to see you back, and presented the prize you already knew about.
"aren't you happy to see ghost?"
"beyond elated. i'm currently pissing my pants of joy right now." the sentence might've sounded sarcastic, but you broke out into a huge smile.
looking over at ghost, you saw his eyes had a glimmer of amusement in them.
"i'll be in the other room. come over if you need me,"
you took off your balaclava and tactical vest and weapons as soon as you got in the room, sitting down on the cot. as soon as you swung your legs up and laid down to take a short nap, a rapid series of knocks sounded at the door.
you groaned, going over to open it to reveal ghost.
"simon?"
"can i come in?" he said gruffly.
you gestured for him to make his way in, and you shut the door.
"anything you want, lieutenant?" you emphasized his rank, still remembering the first time the two of you met.
"you ever gonna show me some respect, shadow?"
you held a hand to your heart, letting out a dramatic gasp. "me? not showing you respect? let me apologize."
you could see his eyes roll.
"since you seem like you were going to take a nap, i want to do some close combat with you. need to see how good you got since you were a rookie." it sounded less of an invitation and more of a demand.
"you asking me as a superior or am i allowed to decline?" you put your hands on your hips, tilting your head.
"are you really going to say no?"
"absolutely not. anything to fucking beat your ass."
☆☆.
the two of you were lying on the floor, and you were sweating. hard.
"thought you were better with guns, simon." you exhaled.
"thought you were better at hand-to-hand combat," he retorted.
you glared at him. "i will pulverize your ass."
he didn't reply, and you took the chance to get up and make him get up also.
"one more. whoever wins gets bragging rights."
"bragging rights?" he questioned, but you already began throwing punches and attempting to get him to fall.
he blocked majority of them, but you didn't let him have a chance to get offensive, instead opting to simply go for his waist and push him to the floor, with you attached. this led to you bear hugging his waist, your face in his chest.
you accidentally took a huge inhale through your nose, and you could smell him. he smelled like gunpowder, dust, and. . . wood?
"are you fucking sniffing me, y/n?"
"well, i'm fucking breathing, aren't i?" you could feel him attempt to flip you over but you kept yourself grounded.
"fucking christ. check where your legs are at." ghost groaned, and you peered down to see your leg against. . .
"holy shit, i'm so fucking sorry," ghost took this opportunity to successfully flip you over, and now you were pinned down again. for the second time today, too.
the space between you too was so small, and you could feel his body pressing on yours. your breathing sped up at the distance.
you've been infatuated with the masked man ever since you met him, never being able to forget those moments you had with him. those times you got to work with him, which was barely, had you cherishing those memories of him.
price obviously caught on, which was why he was calling ghost a prize. a prize you were happy to get today.
ghost could tell the look on your face with your half-lidded eyes and parted lips.
he leaned even closer.
"something wrong?" you could hear the smirk.
"fuck off," you turned your face to the side.
"look at me." you immediately went back to glare at him, but you couldn't with how close you were. "i asked you a question."
"nothing's wrong, ghost."
"so if i checked your heartbeat, it would be normal?"
"you trying to touch me, lieutenant?"
"so what if i am?" you had no response to that, opening and closing your mouth, trying to find the words to represent how you were feeling.
the two of you stayed in silence, just like usual, until you broke it.
"can i kiss you?" you murmured.
"close your eyes." you did as he said, and heard the sound of his mask being pulled up, followed by the feeling of his lips pressing against yours. he didn't let go off you wrists, leaving you to have to lean forward to return the kiss.
you kissed as if you had been thinking about this for years, which you had, and he kissed as if this was something that his life depended on. something that he's needed and has been craving desperately.
you never opened your eyes, waiting for the moment he decides to show you himself on his own terms. besides, doesn't it add to the mystery?
he pulled away much quicker than you wanted him to, pouting. you heard him as he slipped his mask back on and told you to open your eyes.
"sorry gorgeous. remember, i'm too pretty to be showing you my face. might dazzle you too much."
you laughed.
"i'm always ready to be dazzled by you, simon. you've dazzled me since the moment we met."
"oh really? you like it when guys insult you?"
"makes me feel like i've done something." you accepted the hand he held out to help you up as he stood.
"definitely have done something to me," he spoke to himself.
you grinned. seems like you both can dazzle people.
☆☆.
i absolutely despise this. i apologize sm
