Aaron & Juliette – Overdramatic Couple Energy
Juliette: Aaron, we need to talk.
Aaron: Juliette, my love, my heart, my soul, my reason for breathing—
Juliette: …Why is there a hole in the wall?
Aaron: Ah. That.
Juliette: Yes. That.
Aaron: Well, you see, love of my life, darling star in my dark sky, I—
Juliette: Aaron.
Aaron: Kenji was being insufferable.
Juliette: So you punched a wall??
Aaron: No. I was aiming for Kenji’s face. He moved. The wall did not.
Juliette: I can’t believe this.
Aaron: I will fix it, my love.
Juliette: How?
Aaron: …By making Kenji pay for it.
Kenji (from another room): WHAT THE HELL DID I DO??

An Aaron Warner Fic!!!!! Plzzzzzzzzz
Dare
Summary: The one she loves only has eyes for someone her friend.
•○●⛦●○•
A/n: You didnt think i would give up the opportunity to write some angst, did you?
a lil treat for you all, two fics in a day 😉
Also, veryyyy smalllll, but i guess its alright, right? 🥲
enjoy!
•○🌑○•
Y/n smiled at something Kenji said, though she did not really listen or understand. She only realised it was a joke because Brendan and Winston laughed.
She tried to pay attention, she really did, but couldn't, not when all her attention was focused on the man on the other side of the room, sitting next to the woman who had the power to either save or doom all of the people gathered.
And he was smiling, in a way he never did for anyone but her.
It always stung Y/n how much he cared for her, but she could do nothing about it. And even if she could, she would not do anything, because Juliette was her friend, and Y/n would never take away her friend's happiness.
The two of them had not confirmed their relationship, but it was apparent that there was something between them.
Y/n sighed, turning back to the dinner she had in front of her, knowing she should eat rather than picking at it, but she simply couldn't bring herself to stomach anything these days.
Maybe it had something to do with her sleeping problems. Or maybe she simply disliked the food provided.
"Y/n?" Kenji called.
"Yes?" Had he been calling her?
"Do you wanna play a game?" Kenji gave her a knowing look, his eyes filled with sympathy.
"Sure. What are we playing?"
"Strip truth or dare." With a grin, Kenji began teaching everyone how to play this game, throwing out absurd rules, and everyone protested at how he simply made them up, and he pouted.
"I promise! It will be so much fun!"
Y/n laughed at his misery, agreeing to play. Once she had agreed, everyone decided to play.
•○🌑○•
Y/n regretted her decision to play not two minutes later.
"Y/n! It's your turn!" Winston screeched, and Y/n dipped her head, blushing furiously.
She either had to choose between truth or dare, and if she failed to answer or do the dare, she would lose one article of clothing.
Currently, she was sitting in only her pants and undergarments. Kenji only had his pants and one sock on, Winston and Brendan having lost their shoes and one sock each, though they still had their shirts on.
Y/n envied them.
"What is going on here?"
Y/n sat up straighter, wishing to be anywhere but here.
"We are playing strip truth or dare." Winston replied, and Y/n turned to find a confused looking Aaron staring at the little group.
His eyebrows rose impossibly higher, and he glanced down at her. "I thought you were the smart one here."
She blinked, a blush staining her cheeks at his attention. "You can't say no when you know they will not leave you alone until you agree to whatever they want." She gestured vaguely with her hand, and Aaron. Actually. Grinned.
Y/n's lips parted, and she stared at him for a moment longer before she turned back towards the table.
"You should play too." Kenji sad just as Juliette came to stand next to Aaron.
After the rules had been explained as everyone scrambled to put their clothes back on, the game started again, now including Aaron and Juliette.
"So, let's start with Warner." Kenji wiggled his eyebrows, and Y/n knew that he only asked to get under Aaron's skin.
She smiled, shaking her head fondly.
Aaron glanced at Juliette before answering. "Dare."
"Awesome. Kiss the person you are attracted to or lose an article of clothing."
Aaron glared at the man across from him, and Y/n spoke up, hoping to get Aaron to not kill Kenji.
"You don't have to kiss anyone. Simply remove your shoe-"
Before the last word had even escaped her mouth, Aaron's lips were on hers.

vilify me - chapter 3
tumblr is now officially caught up with ao3 !! chapter 4 is being edited currently, and it will be the last chapter before i start college. so look forward to that.
(AO3 Link) (Chapter 1) (Chapter 2)
“What’s your name, soldier?”
I had considered Sector 45 a second home for a long time, and by extension I knew where all the best spots in the base were. I knew which seats were the most comfortable and which one’s cushions hadn’t been changed out since before I was born. So, I’d taken my new faux-bodyguard to one of the sectioned off rooms, chambers that had colored themes and a lack of decor. And also no cameras. That was the most important part, I would sit us right in the blindspot.
“Kenji Kishimoto,” he paused awkwardly, “sir.”
“Call me Ella, I don’t have a formal military title.” That was a lie, technically. “And I don’t take myself that seriously.”
Kishimoto-- Kenji snorted, he had a sense of humor.
“Where are you from?”
“Sector 43,” he paused to frown at me. “Where are you from?”
“Oceania Sector 124.”
It was an automatic response, replying with section numbers instead of places. No one from Sector 45 would know anything about the continent of Oceania. I doubted any of them had ever been on the other side of the world.
“New Zealand.” I amended.
Kenji’s mouth opened in an ah-ha moment, before promptly closing and leaving an awkward silence between the both of us. I was hesitant to close it, this soldier had been given a job and it wasn’t to make nice conversation and be my friend.
“Who are you then?” Kenji spoke before I did.
“What do you mean?”
He rolled his eyes, “If you’re getting your own personal guard you’ve gotta be someone worth protecting. So, who are you? Should I know?”
“I don’t know,” I blinked. “It’s probably better that you don’t already know who I am.”
Kenji seemed to consider this, and after another moment, sat down on the other chair facing my own. It was progress at least. He didn’t seem comfortable in the slightest. Though, I couldn’t exactly blame him for that could I?
“You already know what I can do.”
“News spreads fast here,” he shifted in his seat.
I nodded grimly. He’d been tipped off not to make direct contact with my skin or, at the very least, he’d seen me take down a man twice my size without a weapon. That would be enough evidence to convince most people. But Kenji didn’t look scared of me, he still showed the same level of discomfort as he had in Warner’s presence. It was possible he just had a problem with authority.
“Well, there’s nothing to worry about as long as you don’t touch me.”
“Why am I protecting you then?”
I bit my lip. He wasn’t an idiot, I couldn’t just lie and say I needed protection from the soldiers. Kenji had seen me practically bulldoze a man twice my size.
“Maybe it’s less about protecting everyone else from me--”
“--and about protecting everyone else from you. So, I’m on babysitting duty?”
I narrowed my eyes at him, “I tell you I’m not military and you’re already interrupting me. You don’t waste any time do you?”
Kenji seemed to resist a grin, “Sorry, Princess.”
-
Around Kenji, I refused to be unprofessional in case he saw it as a weakness in which he could exploit. Even after spending a day with him trailing my every move I couldn’t figure out a reason for Warner to assign him to watch me. If anything he seemed like more of a troublemaker than I was. Perhaps I was missing something, that hurt my pride.
Warner was in his office, at the desk with folders stacked before him, by the time I returned to the bedroom. I was unimpressed, and that much could have been easily picked up on, but I pulled a chair up to his desk and sat crossed legged. He paused when I entered the room and hadn’t moved since, but after I was settled he returned to the work before him without comment. Two could play at this game, I opened a book.
It was a long while before Warner spoke, “Do you want to know why?”
“I’d rather you not hide things from me to begin with,” I flipped the page, “but I suppose that’s asking too much, isn’t it?”
I could feel my heartbeat pick up pace, the tension that always wrapped around us seemed to be tightening into a stranglehold. The only thing that held me together, that kept me from giving in, was the fact that it would never ruin us. Fighting was just an aspect of our relationship, we disagreed on nearly everything but it made life interesting. I wouldn’t lose him over this and he had to know that he would never lose me either.
“Kenji Kishimoto has only been here for two months,” Warner began. “Kishimoto has been a nuisance, causing problems among the sector’s ranks and becoming a very frequent headache of mine.”
“And now he’s my problem?”
I finally looked up to meet his eyes, shards of glass that I could feel cut into my heart. He must have finally sensed that I wasn’t nearly as upset with him as I had made it sound, because his shoulders relaxed just a fraction before he continued, “There’s something suspicious about the timing and that’s not all.”
“No?” He placed a folder in front of me.
“I can’t tell if he’s lying.”
I raised an eyebrow and flipped open the file, Kenji Kishimoto was the first profile in the pile. I turned the page and found another soldier, and another, and another. “What is this?”
Warner didn’t speak as I kept looking through the files. I couldn’t see the connection with all of these people, some weren’t even from Sector 45 but from the other side of the continent. There was something so familiar about it that I had the urge to look away, insist that Warner answer my question. But then I didn’t need him to, a soldier appeared before me and I recognized the face.
Just barely, because it wasn’t in agonizing pain.
“Aaron.”
“North America’s files on double agents, people regents have been led to believe are members of the rebellion. You know we’re told to keep track of any soldiers that peak interest.” He paused, quiet. “You have a copy too.”
I dropped the papers unceremoniously and put my head in my hands. I knew, deep inside, that everyone who worked in the Reestablishment had some version of my kill-list sat in a box somewhere within their desk. That was how my work operated. Someone reported a citizen, or a soldier, or anyone of being suspicious and rowdy and then they called in me. The Reestablishment didn’t care if they got things wrong, if there was nothing to learn from the person they took in, and they had me kill them anyways. They were never let go after being taken in. Anderson thought it was good for me.
“You reported him?”
“Not yet.”
I looked up to meet his eyes, “What am I supposed to do?”
Maybe it was the fragile way my voice shook, my control slipping, or maybe it was the pain I could feel rolling off my mind in waves. I knew they were crashing into him, I watched as he took each with practiced ease and still managed not to break under their weight. He was so strong, my anchor, and now he was giving me a choice.
“I’ve never done an investigation before,” I strained out a laugh.
“You’re restless,”
“I’m tired, Aaron. I sleep all day--”
“You’re restless and it’s hurting you more than it’s helping you.” Warner reached out a hand towards me, pushing away from his desk enough that I easily slipped off my chair and came to sit on his lap. I ducked my head beneath his chin, taking in the warmth of him, the comfort as he brushed his fingers through the short strands of my hair. “I didn’t do this to hurt you, I’m not--”
“You’re nothing like him.” I pressed a kiss to his neck, “And you didn’t hurt me.”
“It felt like I did.”
“You told me the truth, that’s a good thing. Even if it took me by surprise.” I pursed my lips and laid out the options in front of me. Warner suspected Kenji to be a member of the rebellion and he very well might be, but he hadn’t been reported. It’s not my job to handle him unless he gets officially reported by a sector regent, theoretically I could leave it alone. But, if I was to dissuade any possible suspicion around Kenji, then I wouldn’t have to kill him. “You’ve given me quite a decision.”
“At least you’re not bored.”
“If Anderson found out--”
Warner frowned, “He won’t.”
We sat in silence with me curled up against him like we were children again. There had been a point in time where Warner wanted as far away from the work his father had be do then anything else, it was a testament to the strengthening of our bond that he shared this with me. And I was so, so proud of him.
“You don’t have to listen to him,” his voice was soft, I almost missed it just swimming through the contents of my own thoughts. He was watching me, gauging my reactions while pushing my hair behind my ear. “I hate watching you tear yourself apart.”
“I know.”
His lips kissed down my temple to the corner of my mouth and I tilted my face higher to give him more access. I would never get tired of my feeling of him against him. With him I would never feel alone.
“I love you.”
I smiled into his kiss as he repeated the words again and again and again. I was drowning and it was just fine, everything would be fine, I could handle this tiny mission. It was a means to an end anyways. And I could do anything, especially here, in North America with my best friend, the love of my life.
“I know.”
-
“Miss Sommers.” Delalieu greeted as I walked off the plane, my legs felt like gelatin and my heart was in my throat, constricting the airflow with each beat. It was easy to see Delalieu’s surprise at my visit. I fought back my own disgust with him.
“Lieutenant,” I nodded, “I assume Supreme Commander Anderson has already returned to the capital?”
Delalieu didn’t need to nod. My assumption was correct.
“Good, send the usual supplies to Regent Warner’s chambers. Don’t tell the Supreme Commander I’m here and don’t let anyone follow me up. Or else you’re dead.”
The way to Warner’s bedroom was far too familiar even after the months we’d spent apart for each other. Despite my mood, there was no way I could ignore today without guilt consuming my every waking moment. I wouldn’t be able to forgive myself if I did. It was pleasing to watch as I made my way through the halls, soldiers new and old jumping out of my path.
Alone in the elevator, my nerves began slicing me in two. The door chimed and opened to a scene that was far more eerie then I had assumed it might be. Little was changed about the room; the red duvet on the bed had been stripped and crumpled to the floor, the closet door was left opened with the lights off. There was a knock on the far-wall bedroom door, I sped towards it and opened it only to find the hallway empty and outside sat the cart I had told Delalieu to send up.
It was filled with objects that felt more like memories. Medicine and antiseptic that forced my mind to think of laboratories and having my hair tied back in tight braids. I shivered. After setting the cart down on the table within the bedroom and locking the door behind me, I finally decided to look for the inhabitant, and quell the nervous energy in my stomach.
“Aaron, where are you?”
There was no response throughout the room.
I took inventory again and noticed the light to the bathroom was on. It was so stark against the objectively dark bedroom that I was shocked that I hadn’t noticed before. I crept closer to the slightly ajar door before pulling it open quietly, like the heroine in a horror movie. “Aaron?”
He was bent over the toilet with his back bared to me. Scars from previous years were crosshatched with fresh, welting cuts that now bled openly across his skin. Blood didn’t scare me, not anymore, but seeing him bleed was enough to bring tears to my eyes. It was an image of cruelty, true cruelty brought about by his own father. I would kill that man some day.
I retreated back into the bedroom to grab antiseptic, bandages, something to soothe the wounds, I went through the motions that his mother had taught me when I was five and then again when I was six, and then again and again until I was the only one that could clear up after Anderson when he paid his son a visit on his birthday. I’d been doing it so long that it felt like second nature, and that though made my skin crawl.
“Ella?”
Warner’s voice was barely above a whisper as I returned to the bathroom with supplies in hand, I settled on my knees beside him and brushed my fingers against the back of his neck, feeling the heat of his skin and calming my nerves.
“It’s me. I’m going to take care of you, okay?”
He groaned, dry-heaving into the toilet again. I pulled my fingers through his hair once more before bringing a towel to the cuts and beginning my work. I had forgotten, in the past months, that without Warner I couldn’t really touch anyone. Not like I could touch him. He was the only person I could be safe around, vulnerable without losing a part of myself, the only person I could be normal around. I switched towels, cringing at the choice of white fabric. Maybe not completely normal.
“Before I forget,” I wanted him to talk to me. Keep distracted. “Happy birthday. I would have gotten you something, but I figured that getting to see me again while I’m pissed at you was enough of a gift.”
He laughed weakly and rolled his head to the side to face her. I was struck with how truly awful he looked. Pale and sickly, sweat clung to his forehead and deep bruises sat beneath his eyes. I used the hand that was still grasped at the back of his neck to push the hair from his face. The blond strands I’d spent years in awe of now hung limp in the fluorescent light of the bathroom.
“How are you?”
“Better.” Warner’s lip twitched, “Now anyways.”
I narrowed my eyes at him before getting up to put the bloodied towels in the sink. That’s when I noticed the pill bottle on the floor near him. I didn’t need to pick it up to know what the bottle contained, but I prayed that Warner was smart enough not to have overdosed.
“No wonder you’re so slow,” I clicked my tongue. “How many did you take?”
Warner didn’t respond even as I got back down on the bathroom floor with him. He just stared at me with eyes glazed and confused. I touched his cheek, why this had to be the first moment we see each other after everything that had happened with Lena, with us. My own realization. Suddenly it felt dangerous to be alone with him in this state. I stood up once again, ever indecisive, I could change the sheets on the bed while I reigned myself in.
Warner’s hand shot out, loosely grasping my wrist and trying his best to draw me back down to him. Knowing that Warner’s usual strength could easily accomplish this task hurt all the more now that he couldn’t even pull hard enough for me to budge.
“Aaron,” my voice was gentle without planning to, “I need to change the bed. I’m not leaving, I promise.”
“Ella, I’m--”
“I know.” I smiled at him, and he let go.
-
Kenji Kishimoto was not going to make this easy for me. Everyday he would be forced to follow me as I walked in circles around the base. And it felt like the proper punishment for me. I think it was the beginning of a beautiful friendship, or maybe just the beginning of my investigation, whichever made me sound less soulless.
“What’s your favorite thing to do?”
Kenji gave me a deadpan expression, “I don’t know, Princess. I have to work all hours of the day.”
“You could humor me, y’know.” There was a pause as we continued walking and I thought up another question, “What’s your favorite color?”
“Grey.”
I threw my hands up in mock annoyance.
“Fine, what do you want to talk about?”
Kenji shrugged. He had been trying to keep a straight face for the majority of our limited conversations, but I’d grown very used to seeing beyond people’s masks. I could tell he was hiding a smile and maybe even some curiosity. I could use that, I knew I could.
“Come on, you’ve got to have questions.” I waited for him to respond, but he didn’t. “And I don’t plan on leaving Sector 45 anytime soon.”
He sighed and after another moment of mindless walking he said, “Fine.”
I clapped my hands together in glee before turning on my heel and heading towards another room similar to the one I had taken him to before. Sector 45 had a lot of unused rooms, especially on the upper floors, and I had never really registered why. The skyscraper hadn’t been built to house military, that much was certain, but it left a great many rooms easy to access and free of the hidden camera that made my skin itch beneath my clothes.
“Ask away,” I told him as I moved to the back of the room. There was a bookcase on the far left that held cookbooks on the second tallest shelf. I pulled one on Indian cuisine down.
“All right,” he didn’t waste time to consider. “Why are you here? In North America, I mean.”
“I work for the Reestablishment.”
“There isn’t anywhere in the world better then here?”
I smiled at him, “I wouldn’t go that far.”
The couches in the room were a toffee brown color that clashed with the walls and the woods. They had no taste for interior design in any of these rooms. It curled my lip, but I sat on the cushion and set the book beside me, gesturing for Kenji to sit on the other couch across from me. We were going to have a conversation and it was only polite to be on equal footing.
“For me,” I continued, “I suppose this is the best place in the world.”
He raised an eyebrow, or tried too anyways, but I could tell he didn’t believe me. Now I was weighing my options; If I confided in him then maybe he would see it equal to confide in me as well. But on the other hand then I’d had to tell him something honestly about myself. I wasn’t sure what information I could divulge easily. Kenji made a motion with his hand as if for me to keep talking, a quiet why sat in the air around us.
“Honestly?”
He nodded.
“Regent Warner.”
Whatever he’d been expecting me to say; the sun, which was now perpetually blocked out by clouds, the beaches that were filled with litter, or the oceans that were so polluted you could get sick from just standing near them. California was an unfortunate caricature of its former self, or so I remembered.
But Warner was the easiest thing for me to talk about, as cheesy as it sounded. I couldn’t help but have him in the back of my mind in every waking moment. Because we were partners, a pair, always together except when we weren’t. And this was the juiciest gossip I could give him without revealing myself as the Reestablishment favorite assault rifle.
“It did seem weird for you to walk out of his bedroom like that.” Kenji observed me with a new level of suspicion, “Wait, I thought you couldn’t touch anyone?”
“I can’t.”
“Then-- wait-- how?” He made an exasperated motion with his hands as I sat there smiling at him. It took him a minute to compose himself, “So, you’re here for him?”
“More or less. I’m on vacation.”
“The Reestablishment gives out vacation days?”
I laughed, “No, unfortunately. I’m a special case.”
Kenji finally leaned back in his seat, getting more comfortable as he continued to question me and I answered without difficulty. He gave me an incredulous look, “You don’t work for the military, but you do work for the Reestablishment. And you take time off even though you’re not supposed to. What are you, a diplomat?”
“No.” I shook my head, “Definitely not. My sister is far better versed in policies then I am.”
“You have a sister?”
I pursed my lips. If Emmaline were here she could sort through the contents of his head and deliver the truth to me on a silver platter. But Emmaline wasn’t here, I was, and I didn’t have abilities over the mind. I wondered if I cursed her loud enough, if she could hear me from the other side of the world.
“Am I going to learn anything about you beyond your favorite color?”
“Sure, Princess.” He grinned like he’d beaten me at something.
I waited. I couldn’t ask him another silly question, like what was his favorite animal, it was better to let the truth come to light naturally but that didn’t mean you shouldn’t help it along. Once again, I wished I were Emmaline, that I could so easily read people instead of harm them.
“Why are you a soldier?”
Kenji’s smile fell slowly until he was staring blankly back at me. I hadn’t thought it would be a hard question to answer, I figured he would brush it off and say he was simply bored and it offered a bit of excitement. That would be in character.
“Kenji?”
“Why do you think?” He spoke up, “Everyone has to eat, has a family they need to protect, that’s why everyone chooses to be mindless drones for a government that doesn’t give a shit about us.”
I sat patiently while he caught his breath and continued.
“Hell, it’s not even really a choice at this point. You either work for them or you work for them, there’s no in between for any of us. But you wouldn’t know anything about that, would you, Princess?”
Strong resentment for the Reestablishment. Unwilling to share details of personal life. Hostility evoked from questioning. Distracting demeanor, draws attention to himself, but through mischief instead of malice. It was a strong cover, if it was a cover. I couldn’t be too hasty in my decision. For once I could actually save someone from my chopping block rather than lowering the axe.
I hummed softly to myself before standing, the cookbook left on the seat. Decisions, decisions. When I moved towards the door with the intent to leave, Kenji got to his feet and his regret over his own words was written clearly on his face. I turned and smiled back at him, I wasn’t hurt by his opinion of the Reestablishment, I’d heard far worse.
“You’re dismissed for the rest of today, I think I’m going to take a nap.” He opened his mouth to speak up, but I raised a hand and silenced him. “Not to make light of your own difficulties, but it doesn’t matter high up you are. The Reestablishment takes away everyone’s freedom, even mine.”
-
I had never seen this room before.
It felt a little bit like Mum and Dad’s office. Cold and quiet. I wrapped my arms around myself as Mum and the other people in white coats moved around the room. They were talking quietly, but I was so far away from them I couldn’t make out any of the words. And then Dad kneeled down next to me.
He didn’t hold my hand anymore, even though Mum made me wear gloves. But he still smiled at me like he always did, that’s how I knew he loved me. “Hey there, little bird.”
I smiled shyly back at him. There was a creaking of metal across the room and I almost reached up to cover my ears it was so loud. I wished Emmaline was there, she always knew what to do. Or Warner. If Warner was there he could hold my hand while I waited for Mum to do my check up, this was probably another kind of check up. Dad moved into my line of sight, cutting off my vision of Mum.
“Ella, you’re five now and that means you’re a big girl.”
I nodded. Emmaline was six and she was already so much more grownup. I was determined to catch up to her.
“I need you to do something for me, little bird. You’re going to take your gloves off--”
“Mum said I wasn’t allowed to take them off.”
“I know,” he smiled, “but Mum needs you to take them off right now. Just for a little while, I promise.”
I glanced down at the pink cotton gloves that came all the way up to my shirt sleeves. It had been a couple months since I’d had to start wearing them and they weren’t itchy at all anymore. My hands honestly scared me a little bit. It had been a really sudden thing, I didn’t want to take a bath and the nanny watching Emmaline and I had had to chase me around the living room. When she finally caught me, she started screaming like I had kicked her. Mum had come then, she’d done a check up, and then she told me to wear the gloves and not take them off.
And she told me not to touch anyone.
Emmaline thought I was dumb, but I could understand that somehow I could hurt someone if I touched them. Like when you got too much static from rubbing your socks on the carpet and you shock someone. Except it seemed like it hurt a lot more. I didn’t want to accidentally touch Mum, or Dad, or Emmaline. Or Warner. So, I never took the gloves off just like I was told.
“Please, for me?” Dad asked.
I gave in. Pulling the cotton back to reveal my pale arms and then my hands. They looked just like normal hands. I imagined a current of electricity running through them, but nothing changed. Emmaline said that when she used her powers , she visualized everything.
“Alright, Ella, follow me.”
Dad led me across the room to where Mum and the other white coats had finally settled. Some sat in front of monitors and others stood around watching me, waiting for something. I wanted to hide behind Dad’s legs, but I wasn’t allowed to touch him. Mum came closer with a smile on her bright red lips.
“There’s my brave little girl.” My face soured at being called little. “Are you ready for your check up?”
“Yes, Mum.”
Mum’s hands and arms were covered as she lifted me into a high seat, it reminded me of the bar stools we had in the kitchen. In front of me, on a table, there was a rabbit in a cage. It’s nose was twitching in all directions as it sat, still and calm. Mum opened the top of the cage.
“Ella,”
“Yes?” My voice was shaking as Mum picked up the rabbit.
“I want you to hold this bunny for me. That’s not hard is it?”
“But--”
“Hold it and don’t drop it no matter what, okay? This is very important.”
Dad came around from the side and stuck things that felt like suction cups to my head, I was use to those. I didn’t want to hurt the rabbit. I didn’t want Mum to give me the rabbit, it was so much smaller than the nanny, what if the electric shock really hurt it?
“Mummy--”
“Ella,” my mother’s tone was suddenly sharper. “Be a good girl and do this for me. It’s very important that you hold this rabbit and not let it go, no matter what, is this clear?”
“Y-Yes.”
Mum lowered the rabbit in my arms and then pulled them tightly around it. I noticed then that the rabbit was also hooked up to multiple machines, I could see it’s heart rate monitor out of the corner of my eyes. I saw it spike. The second the rabbit was in my hands it began thrashing like crazy, I could feel it try to bite me or claw me, anything to get loose. But it didn’t hurt, nothing touched me. And then the rabbit stopped moving.
I watched everything. I couldn’t close my eyes as the soft rabbit with pure white fur lay limp in my arms. It’s heartbeat gone silent. I looked up at Mum, her hand held over her mouth and I wondered if she’s scream and me or cry. I had hurt the rabbit, I really hadn’t meant to. But her hand lowered and behind it was a smile.
“Interesting,” she said. “Very interesting.”

Shatter me
Summary
As Shatter Me begins, Juliette Ferrars is a teenaged girl locked in a cell at an asylum for a crime she accidentally committed years ago. She’s starting to lose her mind from the isolation, but one day, the guards tell her she is getting a cellmate. She is worried when she finds out that the cellmate is a young man named Adam. She knows she remembers him from somewhere when they meet, but she cannot figure out from where. At first, she is scared of him, and Adam behaves aggressively, taking over the one bed and blanket in the cell and leaving her to fend for herself. However, their attitudes towards each other soften after he burns his hand on a hot plate and she patches him up. She then starts teaching him how to survive in the facility. She shows him how to get a quick shower, and he returns her bed and blanket when he sees she is cold. She remains haunted by her odd memories of him, but does not ask him about it.
One day, the soldiers come into the cell to take Juliette away. It is revealed that Adam is a soldier and a spy, working for the Reestablishment, the totalitarian government regime. She is taken to Sector 45, where she meets its leader, Warner. He wants her to use her deadly touch to destroy the rebels in exchange for a life of ease and riches. While she is horrified by the idea, Warner wants her to see what her life could be like in the compound and assigns Adam as her bodyguard.
In the compound, Juliette finds herself with every comfort, but rebuffs Adam’s attempts to get her to cooperate with Warner. She later finds out that Adam was beaten by Warner for her refusal, and decides to play along for now, dressing up and looking for a way out. She finds the notebook she had in her cell and learns that Adam is really trying to help her. He is moved into her new apartment, and she learns that Adam can touch her without being hurt. The two of them become closer, eventually starting a romantic relationship. Warner continues to press Juliette to join his side. She is horrified by his brutal actions, such as his sacrifice of one of his own men to her poison touch. Warner continues to put Juliette through sadistic tests of her power, and she and Adam begin putting together a plan to escape. They make their run for it during a drill, but during their escape, it is revealed that Warner is immune to Juliette’s touch as well. They escape and find a tank Adam hid; they flee to his home. There, Juliette is introduced to Adam’s younger brother. Soon a soldier named Kenji seeks refuge in their home after being tortured by Warner for information. He tells them to flee. Soon soldiers arrive at the home seeking the fugitives. Juliette, Adam, James, and the injured Kenji flee, but they are caught, and Adam is shot.
Juliette is dragged off, and Warner proceeds to hit on her, expressing his excitement over being able to touch her. She steals his gun while he is distracted and shoots him. She flees and finds a badly injured, tortured Adam. They steal a car, rescue James and Kenji, and flee to a safe haven that Kenji knows. At the facility, the injured are treated and Juliette is sedated after becoming frantic. She wakes up to a man trying to ask her questions, but will not answer anything until she sees her friends. Kenji assures her that they are safe. Soon, she is taken by her guard, Winston, to meet Castle, the rebel leader. Castle informs her that this location is called Omega Point, a safe haven for people who have special abilities. She is one of fifty-six gifted people. Castle is another, having telekinesis. He is organizing a rebellion against The Reestablishment. She learns that Kenji can become invisible, and Winston can stretch his body. Adam is healed, and Juliette is given a suit that allows her to touch others. Armed with the suit and a new confidence in herself, Juliette is ready to join the resistance.
Qoutes
“My life is four walls of missed opportunities poured in concrete molds.” (Page 1)
-From the begging of the story Juliette Ferrars is a teenage girl locked in a cell at an asylum for a crime she accidentally committed years ago. She said that she is in the four walls and no one can hear her.
“Adam stares at me so long I begin to blush. He tips my chin up so I meet his eyes. Blue blue blue boring into me. His voice is deep, steady. "I don't think I've ever heard you laugh." (Page 1)
-In the story Adam look at her and she feels like she nervous she can’t understand her feeling that way and she always think that Adam would kill her. She never trusts Adam.
“All I ever wanted was to reach out and touch another human being not just with my hands but with my heart.” (Page 1)
-In the story she wanted dream like she can see outside and try to touch human with their hands.
“Raindrops are my only reminder that clouds have a heartbeat. That I have one, too.” (Page 2)
-She said that her room is heavy with the scent of wet stone, upturned soil; the air is dank and earthy. She takes a deep breath and tiptoe to the window only to press her nose against the cool surface. Feel my breath fog up the glass. Close my eyes to the sound of a soft pitter-patter rushing through the wind.
“You can't touch me," I whisper. I'm lying, is what I don't tell him. He can touch me, is what I'll never tell him. Please touch me, is what I want to tell him.” (Page 2)
-She wants Adam to touch her but she can’t tell this to Adam because she scared to Adam that time when they both in the darkness place to take a shower but she thinks that Adam could kill her in that place.
“I've been screaming for years and no one has ever heard me.” (Page 3)
-When Adam and Juliette is in the darkness place to take a shower, she taught that Adam will kill her but she is wrong Adam feel her safe and she said that quote line because no one can bring her to that place, no one can hear her. And because of her cellmates she realizes that there is man can hear her now.
“Hope is hugging me, holding me in its arms, wiping away my tears and telling me that today and tomorrow and two days from now I will be just fine and I'm so delirious I actually dare to believe it.”(Page 4)
-She is hoping that everyone can understand her that can hug her and comfort her because no one can see her even her family or parents.
“Someone picked up the sun and pinned it to the sky again, but every day it hangs a little lower than the day before. It's like a negligent parent who only knows one half of who you are. It never sees how its absence changes people. How different we are in the dark.” (Page 6)

Ship: warnette #16 In the coat room of a theatre (Its poisonbooknerd)
(Theatre Coatroom + Whyhaven’t you kissed me yet)
Ofc these two would do it in a coatroom. But I was distracted and forgot it was specifically a theatre coatroom so it turned into a fancy place coatroom xD
also, spies AU
Rated E ofc
Oh God. OhGod! OH GOD!
She’dactually blurted out to Warner how beautiful she thinks he is. WHAT WAS WRONGWITH HER? Why, oh why, couldn’t she for once stay quiet? Keep her secrets toherself, like a long forgotten book, gathering dust on a high shelf in adarkened corner of a closed-off library? Secrets had power and once you letthem go… They do not lose power.
Someoneelse gets it.
“Juliette, love… Please stop!” His voice trailed after her, so perfect and beautiful andsure of itself. She wanted to fall asleep to it, she wanted to wake up to it,she wanted to be completely enveloped by it.
But shealso wanted a hole to die in.
First she’dspent a good half an hour watching the way his body moved as he bench-pressed.The outlines of his body, the valleys and mountains of his toned muscles, thegolden glow of his skin. Then, Kenji had caught her ogling their colleague andthat was the first time that day that Juliette had wished for a hole to die in.
Second timehad been in the elevator on their way to get ready. He’d spoken to her in thatway he always did, as if she was the only thing that mattered in the world tohim, yet he was just going through the specs of their mission. Juliette hadtripped (TRIPPED!) on the way out and fallen into his arms, planting an openmouth kiss on his chest. Sure, he had a tailored shirt on, a tailored toperfection (she had to thank the tailor for their talent, oh yes), but she’dstill kissed his chest.
A. Damned.Kiss. On. His. Chest.
Where was ahole when she needed one?
And thirdtime had been five minutes ago, during that deadly tango.
Out of allthe things their mission handler had suggested the two to do in order tomingle, dancing the tango had been the worst. And exactly the one chosen.
By.
Kenji.
Afterdying, Juliette would gladly kill Kenji.
Body tobody, cheek to cheek, Juliette’s heart was not a heart. It was a drum. It was abattery of drums. A worldof drums. Drum drum drum drum drum! Drum! Drum! She was a professional, yet her heartflickered between beating and dying, beating and dying, beating and dying.
And AaronWarner, her partner… Who she had hated at first, who had replaced her estrangedformer partner and lover, who had turned her world upside down with just onesmile and a perfect pair of dimples… He’d looked as calm as the sea on awindless day.
She wasdying.
And he wasthriving.
And then…her mouth had done something stupid, something so incredibly stupid… “You’re sobeautiful…”
The dancehad been almost over, everyone already distracted with their own dancing andmingling, Kenji somewhere making use of his invisibility skills and finishingthe mission as per plan. And Warner had hesitated, nearly missing a step.“…What?” It was a breath, a caress on her cheek, almost imagined. But she’dheard it. And she felt it. She did.
“I…” Shetried, but her mouth had gone on holidays, leaving her stranded on this island.Stranded to deal with her inability to keep her secrets… A secret.
“Juliette…I thought… You said…” Oh no, oh God. His voice broke in a thousand differentways, in a thousand different shards, aimed straight at her, straight at herrefusals, straight at their ruined kisses. Breaking them into dust. Because herwords hadn’t said just her thoughts on his looks, oh no… Her words had also letout the rest of her secrets. It was in the way her voice thickened, it was inthe way her breath halted, it was in the way she’d pressed her body to his.
It was inthe way she’d ran.
Becauseafter letting Warner in on one secret, she had to let him in on the rest.
She hopedKenji had finished the job, because getting back in there was out of thequestion. Out. Of. The. Question.
“Juliette…!”A hand on the crook of her arm, a body crashing into hers. Or was it herscrashing into his? “Please…!” He begged, eyes wild, that wonderful green oftheirs so perfect, so beautiful. A pair of emeralds, the most rare andpriceless emeralds to ever exist. “Why… why did you say…? Juliette! WAIT!”
She tookoff again, running and running and running.
Hide. Shehad to hide.
Thecoatroom.
–
Well, itcertainly was a good hiding spot. Except for her feet. Which had been thegiveaway.
A hand atfirst, then an arm, and then… Him.
In thedark, his eyes were near black, yet they shinned like midday sun. Oh God… Herheart, her heart…
“Juliette…”He stepped completely into the sea of coats, his tall frame shutting out thedim lights of the coatroom. His scent surrounded her, held her close, filledher lungs to the brim, made her almost sigh in delirium. “Please don’t run awayagain.” He whispered, “Please, tell me… What… What happened?” His hand was onher hair, tugging away stray locks of hair that’d fallen off of her bun.
“I…Nothing… Nothing happened…”
He squeezedhis eyes shut in pain, and sighed, “You said… You said… That. And leaned in, as if you were going to kiss me, love. Andthen you ran. You ran… Please…! Please, Juliette…” She’d… leaned in? Oh God.And here he was, begging her. Begging.“I love you, Juliette. Don’t play with my heart this way… please, love.”
Oh.
Oh, shewould die. She was dying.
She took ina shaky breath, “I… we can’t. We can’t, Warner.” She shook her head, halfway toadmitting the truth, the secrets, to destroying that fortress she’d socarefully built around her heart.
He pressedhis head against hers, so overcome with emotions his body shook all over,“Juliette, love… Of course we can. Together, we can do anything. We couldconquer the world. You and I, love. Just… just tell me.”
God. God.God.
Her legswere gelatine, her heart still that planet of drums, her mind fogged up so muchshe could only think of Warner and his body so close, so close, so close. “Whyhaven’t you kissed me yet?” First she couldn’t speak, her mouth having desertedher. Now, she said this.
Warnerfroze, eyes so wide, so wide.
She carriedon, her mouth somehow having decided to take over the situation. Probably tiredof all the secrets Juliette insisted on keeping so much. Tired of the missedkisses, of the ruined ones, of every chance she’d sabotaged on purpose. Becauseshe wasn’t ready for Warner. For them. For this. Not then. But now… “Warner…Aaron… I… I love you.” There.
Bomb.
Dropped.
And nopossible escape.
How longhad she kept those words a secret? How long had she averted her eyes when herheart drummed so long the whole world could hear? How long?
A soundescaped his control. A gasp, or a whimper.
Maybe both.
And then hekissed her.
Oh God, didhe kiss her.
It wasn’tjust a kiss. It was all the kisses they’d shared before (four, to be exact),all the missed kisses, all the dreamed kisses, all the kisses he kept safe inhis breast pocket, all together in this one press of the lips. He moved hismouth against hers, a silent beg for her to open her lips, to let him in, lethim in, let him in. Juliette did so gladly, hands grabbing handfuls of hisperfect shirt and pulling him in, drawing him closer.
Closer.
Warnertugged on her dress, confused with it and rasped against her lips, “I need thisup,” He tugged on it again, pulling it up, up, up. Coat hangers rattled aroundthem, yet Juliette didn’t even notice them. Her skin burned with every kiss andtouch and brush of bodies. It yearned for Warner, just like her heart ached forhim, just like her lungs gasped for him. Her very soul seemed to whisper hisname, Warner, Warner, Warner… Aaron.Aaron. Aaron…
Drawing astraight line of feverish kisses down her throat, Warner moved straight to herchest, pressing hot kisses in the space between her breasts and where her heartwas surely trying to beat its way out. A strap of her dress fell, and Warnerwasted no second in kissing the exposed skin. Speak… Oh, Juliette didn’t knowhow to speak anymore, no. With each kiss of his she lost more and morerationality, letting this moment wrap around her, tug her down, bury her in itswonder and perfection.
In oneswift movement, Warner pulled her panties down and hoisted her up, “Wrap yourlegs around me, love…” His voice was thick, raspy with lust and love, desperation ruling his speech. Juliette did as asked, biting her lip in rawanticipation when she heard the sound of pants unzipping and falling to theground. Warner’s lips were back on hers, just a breath away, “Juliette…” Hewhispered her name. Just her name. Like a promise, a vow, a sacred word. Etchedinto his heart, part of his soul.
“Aaron…”She answered in kind, hoping he could hear the way her heart seemed to sing forhim, because of him. Her beautiful partner, her wonderful partner, her Warner.
He easedinto her, a groan in the back of his throat, and pressed a kiss on her lips.Soft, tender, a caress so intimate Juliette wished to build a museum just forthis kiss. “Move with me, love. Move with me…” He groaned as he began to rollhis hips against hers, moving in and out, in and out, in and out.
Julietteheld back her moans at first, faintly remembering where they were, but soonreality slipped away, like water slipping through her fingers, giving place tothis little bubble of theirs. It was just her and Warner, the two, moving togetherso perfectly, so wonderfully. She held on to him hard, dragging her nails downhis back. As she freed him of his shirt, she felt the paradox of his body, those muscles toned to perfection, hard under her hands. And then his scars, mission scars, secret scars, crisscrossing his golden skin, a strange mapetched forever on his body. A map she wanted to study, a map she wanted to kissaway.
She droppedher head on the crook of his neck as their pace grew faster and their moansgrew louder, she relished on the feel of him inside her and all around her, onhow perfect it was, how nothing in this world could ever compare to it. Nopainting, no epic poem, no perfect sunrise. Nothing could ever do justice toAaron Warner fitting her so perfectly, nothing could make her feel ascompletely satisfied and full with bliss as Aaron Warner moving inside her likean old lover that knew all her quirks and wishes and preferences. Nothing.
“Juliette, love… Oh, God…” He growled against her skin, his breath burning hot, “I thinkmy heart might explode…” Oh, oh… Hers too, hers too… Juliette felt her heartgrowing and growing and growing, its limits and seams stretching to theirlimits as they moved and kissed and moved and kissed.
This wasit, this was the moment she was certain stars would stop breathing just towitness and create a constellation in its honour. The moment their finalthreads on reality snapped and the two came undone together, their names oneach other’s lips, the raw cries echoing in the dimly lit coatroom.
Juliettewondered if her chest could heave harder as silence settled around them. Herhands tight around Warner, her face buried in the crook of his neck, shewondered just that. Not why no one was interrupting them, not when someonewould rush in and ruin the moment. But if her lungs had any strength left.
Warner tooka breath, about to speak, when another voice interrupted him and the two frozemid-breath, “All right, guys. I got what we needed. See you at the meetingpoint in an hour. Try to be discreet!” Kenji’s voice buzzed in their ears as heinterrupted their radio silence to announce the mission was done.
Themission.
Juliettewanted to die.
“We forgotthe mission! We forgot Kenji!” She gasped, lifting her head just enough to besure Warner understood her.
“It seemswe did, love. Thankfully we didn’t have our coms on, I would prefer to die ifKishimoto had any inkling of what just happened.” His voice was thick, raw fromtheir passionate embrace. “We should go as well, Juliette.”
She bit backa whimper as he settled her down, coats rustling around them. “Can you come tomy room tonight?” She asked once they were out, coats on.
Warnerlooked around and pulled her in for a kiss, a hand on her small of her back,“Anything for you, love. You know it.”
She smiledagainst the kiss, “I love you, Aaron.”
“I love youtoo, Juliette.” He sighed, “But Kishimoto can’t know yet, or he won’t leave usalone the whole ride back home.”
Juliettelaughed, “I’d rather die before telling him a thing.”
“Good.”

The Dynamic between Kylo & Rey and where it can go: A parallel analysis with the Shatter Me trilogy
This meta is a collaboration between my friend @sillylovesongs17 and me. We decided to do this after I told her to read the books because I didn’t want to scream alone about this series. We think this is a wonderful example of what a relationship between Kylo and Rey should look like in the next movies and we hope you have fun reading this meta.
WARNING: There will be spoilers about Shatter Me and Star Wars.
Shatter Me is a book series written by Tahereh Mafi. Followed by Unravel Me and Ignite Me, Shatter Me tells the story of Juliette Ferrars, a girl that can kill with a single touch. After being locked up for 264 days, she gains a cellmate, a boy she thought she would never see again as the Reestablishment (the new government in power) has plans for her, Juliette must make a choice: be a weapon or be a warrior.
In this meta we will discuss the possibilities for Kylo and Rey’s relationship and where they might end up at the end of the sequel trilogy comparing them to the very similar relationship of Juliette and Warner in the Shatter Me trilogy.
We are aware that these stories are not the same but both dynamics are similar, sharing a lot of common traits so we’ll only analyze these characters and their dynamic only.
In the surface, Rey and Juliette share little in common. Rey starts of as a very capable scavenger, she can hold her own against enemies because she had a lot of time to learn how to defend herself in Jakku. In contrast, Juliette starts as a fragile girl, she’s locked in a cell for quite some time because of her lethal abilities and is on the verge of losing her mind.
But they do share similarities. Both girls were born with powerful gifts: Rey is force sensitive and Juliette has a lethal touch. She was abandoned by her parents because of her abilities and if the leaks about Ep. VIII are correct Rey’s parents did the same to her making both wish for belonging.
Rey and Juliette are destined for great things and one more thing they share is their uncommon relationship with the antagonist.
Kylo Ren and Warner share very similar traits, both in personality and their actions. Aaron Warner is the leader of Sector 45, viewed as a cruel sociopath by his soldiers and enemies he hides behind this mask not allowing anyone to see the real him until he meets Juliette.
With Kylo we have the same pattern, his descent into darkness is only stopped when he meets Rey. He senses that she’s special and their connection only grows after their first interaction.
Both Kylo and Warner are trying to please their leaders who abused them mentally and, in Warner’s case, also physically. In Star Wars, the Leader is Snoke, someone that according to the book “Aftermath: Empire’s End” has been watching and manipulating Kylo since before he was even born.
In Shatter Me, the Leader is Anderson, Warner’s father who treats him like shit. He taught Warner to be merciless and cruel hoping that would destroy the gentle nature of his son.
Warner and Kylo are both murderers, they don’t deny it but find no pleasure in harming someone. They are passionate and intense characters with a great sense of style and beautiful hair (sorry).
The point is, Shatter Me is a trilogy, divided exactly like the Star Wars movies. So, we will show how their dynamics are similar and with luck Mafi’s books will illuminate us, the reylos.
Shatter Me and The Force Awakens:
Presenting the Characters
The book starts with Juliette in prison after years of passing through countless reformatories and mental institutions, her last home is now a solitary cell where she’s been locked for 264 days without no one to talk to but herself.
The only thing that keeps her from losing her mind entirely is the bird she dreams about it:
“Instead, I ignore the desperation sticking my fingers together and watch for the bird I’ve only seen in my dreams.”
(…)
“I’ve dreamt about the same bird flying through the same sky for exactly 10 years. White with streaks of gold like a crown atop its head.
It’s the only dream I have that gives me peace.” – Shatter Me. Chapter 6. Pg. 21.
Everything changes when a boy joins her. Adam is someone from her past but he appears to no longer remember her. They talk sometimes but never touch until she discovers that Adam works for the Reestablishment and he was only there to evaluate her.
She’s brought to the headquarters of Sector 45 and is immediately interrogated by Warner. His looks and youth weren’t what she was expecting it:
“I’m immediately struck by his youth. He can’t be much older than me.
It’s obvious he’s in charge of something, though I have no idea what. His skin is flawless, unblemished, his jawline sharp and strong. His eyes are
the palest shade of emerald I’ve ever seen.
He’s beautiful.” – Shatter Me. Chapter 8. Pg. 25.
This is a great parallel with Rey and Kylo’s first meeting. When Kylo removes his mask, Rey is expecting a disfigured almost robotic person and his looks caught her off guard:
“She just stared at him in silence. In itself the narrow face that looked back at her was not remarkable. It was almost sensitive. If not for the intensity of his gaze, Ren could have passed for someone she might have met on the dusty streets of Niima Outpost. But there was—that gaze. That, and what lay simmering behind it.” - TFA Novelization, Chapter 14.
“That happens when you’re being hunted by a creature in a mask.
Kylo Ren stops, considers her… then reaches up, unlatches
and REMOVES HIS MASK. Rey reacts, stunned. It takes a moment
before she regains her own mask of defiance.” – TFA Script.
The majority of the book is Warner trying to unlock Juliette’s power while she falls in love for Adam who has feelings for her. She discovers that he can, somehow, touch her and they start a relationship without Warner knowing about it. He tries to test her powers and pushes her to her limits using not so good ways to do it but it works with Juliette discovering her super force.
On TFA we see Kylo trying to get inside Rey’s mind. This works like a test, and she discovers she is Force Sensitive. Then Kylo Ren and Rey also create a bond (a deep connection, a link…). For Warner and Juliette this came with him touching her without being killed.
Juliette escapes with Adam leaving Warner in all his anger and confusion. Adam is Juliette’s love interest throughout the first book and since Rey doesn’t have a love interest in TFA there isn’t much to compare. Finn, who is Rey’s companion in the movie is more like Kenji Kishimoto, Julliette’s best friend.
While Kylo’s feelings for Rey aren’t explicitly stated, Warner’s feelings towards Juliette are very clear throughout the first book and even Adam notices that he treats her differently but all she feels for him is hatred and disgust:
“I hate you.”
“So much passion.” He laughs again. He looks so calm, so genuinely amused. He stares at me with eyes softer than I ever expected them to be.
I turn away.” - Shatter Me. Chapter 14.
Juliette and Rey are girls that never had someone who cared for them so the thought of losing Adam and Finn is horrible to them. Warner and Kylo both commit an act of violence against them making their hatred only to solidify. The word “Monster” is used by them to describe Kylo and Warner:
“You’re a monster.” My voice is too even, my body filled with a sudden rage. “Why don’t you just kill me?” - Shatter Me, Chapter 9.
“Ren held his lightsaber, poised to strike. “I could kill you right now. But there is another way.” Breathing hard, Rey looked up in disgust at the man looming above her. “You’re a monster.” – TFA Novelization.
Even with their feelings made clear both men still want these powerful women by their side:
“You and I, Juliette—together? We could be unstoppable.”
I will not look at him though I feel his gaze touching every inch of my body. “No, thank you.”
We’re in the elevator. The world is whooshing past us and the walls of glass make us a spectacle to every person on every floor. There are no secrets in this building.
He touches my elbow and I pull away. “You might reconsider,” he says softly. - Shatter Me. Chapter 13.
“No. You need a teacher.” He was beseeching and insistent all at once. “I can show you the ways of the Force.” – TFA Novelization.
At the end, they both fight. Who wins? Yes, the girls. Rey uses the Force and kicks Kylo’s ass. Juliette uses the attraction that Warner feels for her and shoots him. Then both women runaway with their friends and find their resistance. The men are hurt, but still alive.
Unravel Me and The Last Jedi:
Finding Common Ground
Since The Last Jedi isn’t out yet we will analyze the events of Unravel Me and compare to what may happen in TLJ based in what we know so far.
After scaping from Warner, Juliette and Adam are brought to the resistance by Kenji, their friend. There she meets Castle, a mentor for her, that wants her to train and learn more about her abilities but it’s hard for her. She can’t concentrate in her training and everything seems out of place. As her relationship with Adam starts to crumble, her dreams come back and she doesn’t understand:
“The dreams are back.
They’d left me for a while, shortly after I’d been freshly imprisoned on base with Warner. I thought I’d lost the bird, the white bird, the bird with streaks of gold like a crown atop its head.
(…) It was my one piece of hope in the bitter darkness of the asylum, just until I met its twin tattooed on Adam’s chest.
(..) I thought it was a signal, a message telling me I was finally safe. That I’d flown away and finally found peace, sanctuary.
I didn’t expect to see the bird again.
(…)
I’ve had the same dream every night for the past week, and all 7 mornings I’ve woken up shaking, shuddering into the earthy, icy air, struggling to steady the bleating in my chest.
Struggling to understand what this means.” – Unravel Me. Chapter 4. Pg. 28.
The belonging she thought she had found with Adam and Castle’s resistance isn’t real, she still feels incomplete like something is missing.
The same can be said that this might happen with Rey. After her forceback, Maz tells her that the belonging she seeks it’s not behind, in the past, but ahead in her future. Rey thinks it’s about Luke and becoming a Jedi but she might find out that the belonging she wants rests with another person.
Rian Johnson compared TLJ to Letter Never Sent regarding how the story shifts in the middle surprising the audience. We know that Rey and Kylo don’t have the basic hero/villain dynamic and this could be one of the surprising elements. Showcasing their bond and the connection they feel to each other but for this to happen they need to spend time together.
In Unravel Me, Juliette’s feelings about Warner starts to change when she sees him commit an act of kindness:
“And I wish I’d never seen it.
Because something inside of my heart is ripping apart and it feels like fear, it tastes like panic and anxiety and desperation and I don’t know how to understand the image in front of me. I don’t want to see Warner like this. I don’t want to think of him as anything other than a monster.” – Unravel me. Chapter 20. Pg. 101.
Her doubts about him only increases when she meets him again, this time with his father Anderson, the Leader of the Reestablishment:
“And I see the difference in him now. I see what’s changed.
He’s making no effort to hide his emotions from me.” – Unravel Me. Chapter 35. Pg. 154.
Anderson knows about his son’s feelings towards Juliette and plans to kill her in front of him to teach him a lesson:
“The mistake”, he says, almost announcing it now, “that he always makes, time and time again – allowing his emotions to get in the way of his duty – it’s pathetic”, he says, spitting in Warner’s direction. “Which is why as much as I’d like to let you live, my dear, I’m afraid you’re too much of a distraction in his life. I cannot allow him to protect a person who has attempted to kill him” – Unravel Me. Chapter 35. Pg. 157.
Just as we suspected that this was what Snoke wanted to do with Rey, to kill her in front of Kylo because he felt compassion for her:
“Kylo Ren. It appears that a reminder is in order. So, I will show you the dark side. Bring the girl to me.” – TFA Novelization.
Juliette wins over Anderson and Warner is taken as hostage by their resistance. Once there, Castle states that Juliette must interrogate Warner because he’ll only talk to her.
They spent time together and the connection she feels with Warner is stronger than everything she has ever felt:
“Because there’s something about him – there’s always been something about him that’s intrigued me and I don’t understand it. I wish I could ignore it but I can’t.” – Unravel Me. Chapter 50. Pg. 203.
“But I know that I don’t hate you anymore. I’ve tried,” I say, “I’ve tried so hard. Because you’ve done so many terrible, terrible things. To innocent people. To me. But I know too much about you now. I’ve seen too much. You’re too human.” – Unravel Me. Chapter 50. Pg. 207.
They start a strange relationship, Warner thinks he knows her, knows what she feels and she is confused about Warner, not wanting to believe that he can be more than a monster. She likes to spend time with him and she hates herself for that.
She’s the only person to who Warner is kind. He sees her as his equal and explains why he wanted her by his side:
“He looks at me. Really, really looks at me.
“You’re going to go on to do incredible things,” he says. I’ve always known that. I think I just wanted to be a part of it.” – Unravel Me. Chapter 52. Pg. 218.
When Warner discovers that he has abilities, Castle offers him a place there, in their resistance but Warner refuses. That’s not who he is, he can’t change for a matter of days and forget everything he’s done. He knows nothing is that easy because he can sense other people’s feelings, he can feel the hate they have for him and that’s why he can’t stay:
“Feel what?” I whisper.
“What people think of me.”
“What…?”
“Their feelings – their energy – it’s – I don’t know what it is,” he says, frustrated, stumbling backward, shaking his head. “I’ve always been able to tell. I know how everyone hates me. I know how little my father cares for me. I know the agony of my mother’s heart. I know that you’re not like everyone else.” His voice catches. “I know you’re telling the truth when you say you don’t hate me. That you want to and you can’t. Because there’s no ill will in your heart, not toward me, and if there was I would know.” – Unravel Me. Chapter 54. Pg. 227.
Their feelings for one another are so strong that they almost have sex. Warner wants Juliette to go with him, they fight and he escapes alone.
Now back to TLJ, we know that Kylo and Rey will spend some time together on Ahch-To. According to some leaks, Kylo will go after Rey maybe finding her by their “mysterious connection”. He will be stuck on the island with Rey and Luke. Their relationship will evolve (without the “almost have sex” thing, of course), and they will get out of Ahch-To, so who knows?
We only know for certain that Kylo and Rey need to spend time together, their understanding of one another in TLJ is crucial to their future.
Another thing that we will have to wait and see is the answer about Rey’s family. Mafi’s trilogy could give us a way. Juliette was abandoned by her family and we don’t meet them. She is no one, her parents aren’t important to the story only Juliette and the discovery of her abilities are. It’s a good contrast to Warner’s background, he is like royalty, son of the Reestablishment’s Supreme Leader.
A broken young man that meets a strange powerful girl with who he shares a connection. Sounds like something we know?
At the end of book two, everything goes to shit. Their resistance seems to be over and Juliette and Warner seems to be the only survivors making their mission to destroy Anderson.
Based on leaks, it seems that Luke and Rey get off the island and go their separate ways. Luke goes after Snoke while Rey goes after Kylo. If their connection is truly explained and deepened in this movie maybe Rey asks his help to defeat Snoke (we can only hope).
Ignite Me and Episode IX: A forged Alliance?
This segment is basically our hopes and dreams for Rey and Kylo’s relationship since we have no clue to what will happen in Episode IX.
Ignite me sums up everything that me and Lu want for reylo. Obviously, we don’t know anything about the last movie but we want to show you what happens in the last book of the Shatter Me trilogy. Oh, and dream a little.
Juliette is now a strong woman who wants to make things better for the people. She decides to kill Anderson and stop the Reestablishment. Warner doesn’t change so much, he still cold, quiet, with a beautiful hair and only cares about Juliette, the love of his life.
Juliette and Warner spend the whole book together. He’s now the only one she can trust and their bond only grows as the trust is built between them. Warner believes in her and see her as an equal something that Juliette never had before:
“I like the way I feel about myself when I’m with him,” I say quietly. “Warner thinks I’m strong and smart and capable and he actually values my opinion. He makes me feel like his equal – like I can accomplish just as much as he can, and more. And if I do something incredible, he’s not even surprised. He expects it. He doesn’t treat me like I’m some fragile little girl who needs to be protected all the time.” – Ignite Me. Chapter 25. Pg. 105.
In return, Juliette sees the real Warner, someone he tried to hide for so long that he almost lost sight of himself:
“You allow the world to think you’re a heartless murderer,” I tell him. “And you’re not.” – Ignite Me. Chapter 4.
He tells everything to Juliette about his sick mother, why he freed her in the beginning, about the men he killed and everything he did for her. The girl now understands that he is a soldier and not a monster. Juliette finally understands him completely and she accepts who he is, the good and the bad parts of him:
“I’m not trying to fix you; I don’t think you need to be fixed. I’m not trying to turn you into someone else. I only want you to be who you really are. Because I think I know the real you. I think I’ve seen him.” – Ignite Me. Chapter 29. Pg. 120.
If Kylo and Rey spent so much time together as did Warner and Juliette this would be the kind of development that we could see happening between them. They aren’t black and white characters, both Rey and Kylo have darkness in them and the acceptance of each other’s darkness (and light) is crucial to bring balance to them and The Force.
Juliette finally understands what her dreams meant and (shocker) this is the belonging she looked for:
“Warner. A white bird with streaks of gold like a crown atop its head. A fair-skinned boy with gold hair, the leader of Sector 45. It was always him. All along.” – Ignite Me. Chapter 31. Pg. 124.
Juliette only acknowledges that her feelings for him are indeed romantic in the last chapters of the book. That is something that we would like if it happened to Rey and Kylo at the end of the movie.
“What – ‘’ Warner is blinking fast. His voice is fragile, uneven. “What are you saying?”
“I love you,” I whisper. “I love you exactly as you are.” – Ignite Me. Chapter 55. Pg. 200.
Also in this book, Warner loses his mother and Juliette is the only one there to comfort him. The only thing we know about Episode IX is that Leia is not there but this will certainly affect Kylo’s storyline.
“I’ve never, ever seen him look like a child before. Never, not once, not in all the time I’ve known him. But right now, he looks just like a little boy. Scared. Vulnerable. All alone.
(…)
“His eyes are red-rimmed and a startling, striking shade of green, shining with barely restrained emotion. His face is the picture of so much pain.
I almost can’t breathe.” – Ignite Me. Chapter 50. Pg. 189.
Now our favorite part is obviously Juliette and Warner working together. They make an alliance and built their own resistance gathering the survivors of the last battle along with Juliette’s friends to fight against the Reestablishment.
I mean, don’t we all want to see Kylo and Rey kicking Snoke’s ass (or Hux, sorry I’m not sorry at all), using the force bond and being amazing together?
This was basically it. We wanted to show how the writer wrote this very similar dynamic respecting the characters and their development making them a couple you want to root for. We expect reylo to be subtler than a YA book since their audience is PG but if TLJ follows just a bit of this same path we don’t need to be worried about Episode IX at all.

Juliette Chronicles Fanfiction for all of my Juliette/Kenji shippers. (Part One)
“I thought you were afraid of heights princess”.
I gave a start so violent that I nearly fell off the concrete ledge I was sitting on. Pulled from thoughts so deep I was nearly drowning, I realised again how high up this building really was. I could barely see the abandoned vehicles parked on the sides of the streets below.
“The view is so beautiful from up here” was the only quiet answer I could give.
I could smell the harsh soap we were forced to wash with before I even felt the weight of his presence beside me. I felt a warm, strong hand land gently on my shoulder, tracing comforting circles into my carefully clothed skin.
“Do you wanna talk about what happened in there before?” Kenji’s voice was much softer than usual, all traces of sarcasm gone from his lips.
For a moment I considered answering him. But everytime I opened my mouth, the only thing that came out was shaking breath. Instead I stretched my legs out in front of me, feeling them float in the open air. I wondered what it would feel like to be able to float like an autumn leaf in the wind. I wondered what it would feel like to float aimlessly through the sky with no responsibilities, or feelings. My bones felt stiff, held down by the weight of so many impossible choices. No matter what I said or did, I always let someone down.
“You can talk to me you know. I know I’m meant to be Adam’s friend, but you’re my best friend J, and I know you’re hurting” his voice was laced with concern. There was another emotion hidden under the worry, but I couldn’t quite grasp it with my rigid fingers. He slid closer to me on the ledge we were perched on, and wrapped his arm tighter around my shoulders. I leant into his chest, welcoming the kind, familiar touch. Kenji was the only thing that had remained constant in the craziness of the past few weeks. After finding out that Adam wasn’t actually immune to my touch, my heart was broken. Kenji was the only person I could talk to, even though sometimes I knew he could care less. He always listened, and then he would wipe away my tears with tender fingertips. Even if those fingertips did have to be covered by the corner of his shirt to do so.
I took a deep breath.
“Adam needs to understand that things are different now. So much has happened since we first met. If I could control my feelings, there are so many things I would change-” I looked into Kenji’s dark eyes, and my breath faltered, “So many feelings I would erase from my heart”. Kenji’s grip tightened on me slightly at that last bit. His expression became faintly deeper, his eyes turning the colour of an endless universe. It was almost as if he could feel the electricity pulsing through my veins, because he suddenly became more alert, and I could see his pulse jumping erratically in his throat. He leaned in closer to me, our faces mere centimeters away from each other. His chest expanded against my back as he took a deep breath.
“How can you lose feelings for someone you cared so deeply about?” his voice was anxious now, and there was no accusation in his tone. It was almost as though he was asking for himself rather than me. There was an unexplainably deep expression in his eyes now. It caused my breath to hitch and my fingers to shake ever so slightly.
“I will always care about him Kenji, but when I first met him I was so hopelessly lonely. I’d never felt human compassion or decency my entire life. He was my first friend” my voice broke at that last part, and Kenji’s expression became considerably darker, almost as though what I said had made him angry somehow. “Once I realised I wasn’t alone, I knew that what I felt for Adam was more of a desperate desire to not be lonely more than anything. He was the only person who could touch me, so I thought we were meant to be together. But now I know that love isn't that simple” my voice trembled violently as I spoke, because Kenji’s eyes were boring into me. He continued to stare at me for what felt like an eternity, his wide eyes filled with what seemed to be distress, almost as though he wanted to say something to me, but he didn't know how.
He looked out at the sky surrounding us, his eyes becoming illuminated by the impossible brightness of the stars. It gave me a moment to really look at him. He was much thinner than when I first met him. He'd lost a lot of the muscle on his body in the previous weeks, due to a mixture of stress and extreme rationing. His hair was in dire need of a haircut, much like mine. Although I found I quite liked the way it almost curled as it neared his shoulders. He was so deep in thought I doubt he remembered I was there. Something inside his mind must have made him happy because he began to smile crookedly at the night sky. He really was quite handsome, I don't know why I'd never really noticed before. His hands were behind him on the concrete now, holding him upright as he lent back to look above him. I couldn't explain the sudden emptiness at the loss of his touch. As I watched him his face fell once more, revealing an ancient sadness underneath that left my heart feeling empty and yet too full at the same time.
“Do you have feelings for someone else? Is that what made you realise you didn’t love Adam anymore?” I could hear his voice tremble, almost as though he was afraid to hear my reply. I didn’t answer him. Because if I’m being honest, I didn’t know what I felt. All I knew was that my skin was on fire where Kenji’s thin hand had lain. I could still feel the individual nerves pulsing in his fingers through the material of my plain white shirt, even though his hand was no longer there. I felt too hot all of a sudden as my body became aware of how close he was. I had to look away from his gaze, which was growing more depthless with every passing second that he looked into my blue-green eyes. I looked towards the night sky instead. Out here where there was little to no electricity, the stars were in full force. I began to traces patterns in the atmosphere and create new constellations, my mind unable to shut off. There was so much light coming from them that it was easy to see the desert landscape below. If I thought hard enough I could conjure up blurry images of forests and lush green scenery that once encapsulated the busy city. If I concentrated I could even hear birds chirping and bushes rustling in my ears.
“Is it Warner?” Kenji’s voice sounded so heavy I’m surprised it didn’t make a jaw-breaking thud as it hit the earth.
“What?” my voice on the other hand was feather-light. I was still picturing fresh, autumn air hugging my fingertips and brushing my long hair. I hadn’t entirely been listening.
“J, do you love Warner? Is that what this is about?” there was an emotion tugging on the end of that sentence, but I couldn’t quite grasp it before it blew away in the stale breeze. I didn’t know how to answer that question. My feelings towards Warner were very conflicting.
“I don’t think I could ever love someone that takes pleasure in taunting and hurting people” that wasn’t entirely true. The question wasn’t whether I could, but rather whether I should. “But that’s not what we’re talking about right now, because he isn’t here. I need to concentrate on the people who are” my jaw fell open with the weight of that sentence. I brought myself to look at Kenji again, although I regretted it almost immediately. Because his dark eyes were beginning to burn holes into my weak soul.
“But Adam isn’t one of those people anymore?” without my realising he had moved even closer to me, our clothed thighs rubbing against each other. I was beginning to melt and I didn’t know how to stop it. His hand was lighting my skin on fire as it traced gentle lines into my arm.
“Not the way he used to be” I could barely whisper the words as I dragged air into my suffocating lungs. His black hair had turned almost midnight blue in this lighting. I heard him take a deep breath before he straightened up, his eyes moving to the sky above him again. His whole body was shaking slightly, even though the night was quite warm.
His voice trembled violently as he spoke next, all traces of his usual confidence gone. “Am I one of those people?” he tried and failed to add some sarcasm to his words.
I nudged his broad shoulder gently as I forced out a quiet laugh. “Of Course you are Kenny, you’re one of the most important people in my life. And I don’t have many of those”, I attempted an amused smile but hesitated when I saw his face. He looked so vulnerable, like he was a child again. It broke my heart to see someone so unsure of themselves, which made me wonder if that’s how people used to see me.
“You deserve to be with someone who thinks you are the most important person in their life princess. You deserve someone who will put you first” I knew he was talking about Adam. James would always come first in his life, and that’s completely fair. James is family, and I’m just a girl who broke his heart.
I placed my hand on his chest where it was covered with a shirt almost as dark as his hair. I could feel his heart patter and thump like that of a hummingbird. “Thankyou Kenji” my voice was weak. I could barely hold back the flood of tears and emotions that threatened to destroy the calm quiet in the air tonight. Kenji was so warm my fingers were almost burning, though I didn’t mind at all. In this moment I felt so content I would happily be engulfed by this fire.
His eyes flashed as he brought his face down to look at me again. They had turned to liquid, the helplessness that I could see weighing down his bones was flooding into his eyes now too. His breath was ragged as his hands ventured down my arms, his fingers reigniting the waning embers he left behind before. They stopped at my wrists, where my hands were covered by thin gloves. It made it easier for me to know that I could at least pass someone a plate without inflicting pain on them.
He took a deep breath as his fingers moved down slowly, his eyes never leaving my own. Within seconds that felt like hours, his hands were against mine and our fingers were intertwined. Electricity jumped from my fingertips as my skin felt the unfamiliar desire to be closer to his. He looked down at our hands as his fingers tensed around mine. Slowly, he brought them to his mouth as he placed a gentle kiss on each of my palms, and then my knuckles. I saw his throat tense and his eyes squeezed close. He began to breathe heavily as he lowered his forehead to rest on our joined hands.
I can’t remember the last time I took a breath. Or the last time my heart beat.
He raised his head as his gaze ventured up and down each of my arms and to my neck. He was looking at me like there was not a single other thing on this dying earth worth his time. I felt so different in this moment then all of the times I was with Adam. With Adam I felt a rush of heat and uncontrollable power, almost as though I could conquer the world with the power he gave me. With Kenji it was the entire opposite. Right now in this moment I felt empty, devoid of all my power. One might find that frightening, however I felt nothing but content. It felt like the first time I could completely let my guard down, almost as though I didn't need my lethal skin to protect me anymore.
“Kenji...” I could barely whisper. My mind wouldn't quiet enough to form words. Right now, being this close to someone, I usually felt the familiar feeling of fatal power coursing through my destructive veins, aching to jump out and consume whoever was unlucky enough to be near me. But right now I felt absolutely nothing, and it felt so good.
“Kenji” I startled him without intention. He seemed so lost in himself he'd forgotten I was there. I saw his body jolt slightly at the sound of my voice. “What's the matter J?” he was breathless.
“I don't feel anything Kenji, nothing at all” I couldn't hide the joy in my tone even if I wanted to. Tears started to fall from my eyes. I looked at my clothed hands and rejoiced at the incredible feeling of nothingness.
“What?” I looked at Kenji then, and my breath faltered. Tears had also started to fall from his eyes, however they were tears of sorrow. He was shaking as he shrugged away from me out of embarrassment. I realised suddenly how that must have sounded to him, since he couldn't possibly read my mind and know what I was talking about. I quickly reached out for him again, aching to be as close to him as humanly possible. I held one of his hands as I reached out for his chin with my fingers, turning his face to look at me. I smiled at him adoringly as I gently wiped the tears from his gorgeously dark eyes.
“I didn't mean it in that way Kenji, I could never mean it like that with you” I rushed to explain myself, my words stumbling over each other as they raced from my shaking lips, “I don't know how to explain it, but usually even if I'm wearing protection, my skin will almost burn when I'm touching someone, because my body wants... But right now, touching you… I just… it feels…” I couldn't find the words to explain what my body was feeling right now. I'd never felt anything like this before, it was almost paralysing with its intensity. My body had never felt this quiet before, I didn't know how to deal with it.
“Tell me princess -” his hands reached for my shoulders, where they held me with desperation. His eyes were wild with something primal that I couldn't place and his fingers were again tracing comforting circles into my surprisingly unresponsive skin, although as bad as that sounds, I craved more. “Please talk to me”.
I took a deep breath.
“I've never felt more at peace in my life then when you're holding me. For the first time in my life my mind feels calm, like I don't need the protective layer my body lays over me in order to protect me from all of the shitty things that I've dealt with in my life. I feel safe enough with you to let my guard down. I feel absolutely nothing. And yet that lack of feeling is more wonderful than anything my body has ever felt”.
His eyes began to burn through me again and heat my body in an entirely different way than I was used to. His fingers had tensed around my shoulders as his breathing increased drastically. His gaze never left mine as his hands moved achingly slow down my arms and to my hands. He stopped just before my wrists, his breath stopping for a moment. His eyes fell to my fingers, still covered by dark gloves. His lean fingers began to shake as tears stained his cheeks.
“I'm tired of being away from you” he spoke so quietly I wondered if he even meant for me to hear him, “I need to feel your skin. I need… I need to know if your skin feels as soft as it looks”.
His eyes never strayed from my fingers as his hands slowly began to remove the glove from my left hand. I held my breath as he pulled the thin fabric further down, so completely afraid that if I was wrong, I was about to hurt someone that I loved.
All of a sudden I felt a warm breeze on my fingers and a shaky breath escaped through tight lips. Kenji was still staring at my hand, almost like it was something foreign to him. I supposed it was. After closing his eyes and taking too many deep breaths, he finally looked at me again. His eyes were so dark, so deep. It felt like he was reaching into my soul with his intense gaze, trying to pull something from within me. I could see the pulse in his neck, baring his nerves to me even though he tried to hide it.
Without warning his fingers closed around mine and I drew in a short breath. We were both so still for so long that I wasn't sure I would remember how to move when the time came.
Nothing happened.
Absolutely nothing.
Tears sprang to my eyes as my body began to quake with uncontrollable emotion. I'd never felt so still in my whole life, so gloriously empty. It felt amazing. Kenji was smiling at me, his eyes brighter than I'd ever seen them. His teeth were shining in the weak moonlight. He began to laugh incredulously, like he wasn't sure this was really happening. Then without warning his arms were around me and my body was pulled flush against his. His head was buried in my neck as his hands rubbed my back lovingly. The feeling of his hands so intimately on my body had my skin burning with desire. I was overcome with hunger, desperate to feel more of his skin against my own. I wrapped my hands around his slender face, pulling him up to look me in the eye.
“I need to feel you” he moaned at my words which surprised me. I didn't realise it at first, but I'm pretty sure my touch was affecting him just as much as his was affecting me.
Suddenly I felt cold concrete against my back. I was lying down on the roof as Kenji hovered over the top of me. His face was so close to mine that I could feel his warm breath on my cheek.
“You have no idea how long I've waited to hear you say that” he was barely whispering now, his voice thick with the same hunger I felt inside. He leant into me achingly slow, until our noses were touching. But then he stopped, his eyes suddenly worried, his lips shaking violently. I couldn't take it any longer, I needed to touch him, so I leant up and brushed my lips against his softly, barely grazing his skin. He drew in a long breath as his eyes fluttered closed. Then his lips crashed against mine, his movements rushed and desperate. I melted against him, drawing my fingers into his thick hair. That made him moan against my mouth again, and I reveled in the sound and how it made me feel. When I felt his tongue brush against mine gently, seeking my permission before devouring me, I couldn't hold in the small whimper that escaped from my lips. I'd never experienced the all consuming fire that ran through my veins as Kenji held me before, I couldn't restrain myself even if I wanted to. Without thinking about it I wrapped my arms around Kenji and swung him around so that I was straddling his hips. He leaned forward so that we were both sitting up, wrapping his hands around my waist as he did so.
“You're so beautiful” his eyes wouldn't stop venturing up and down my body, but I didn't mind the attention. I would happily sit here like this all night if it meant Kenji would keep looking at me like that, like he'd never seen something so breathtaking in his whole life.
He began a trail of soft, sweet kisses down my throat, sometimes dragging his tongue along my skin. No one had ever done that to me before, and it made my heart race even faster than before. When I looked at him quizzically he only chuckled adorably at me. “I just wanted to see if you taste as wonderful as you look” there was a devilish gleam in his eyes that left me breathless. After that he continued his slow trail of kisses until he reached the neckline of my shirt. He stopped and stared at the patch of skin there until I began to wonder if maybe he was regretting doing this with me. But then he looked up at me, his eyes wide and smoldering, something deeper that I couldn't place hiding behind the surface. Then I realised he was waiting to see if I was okay with this, with what he wanted to do.
“Don't stop” my voice was laced with desperate longing. That was enough for him as his fingers reached for the hem of my shirt. Suddenly remembering that I wasn't wearing anything under my shirt since I was dressed for bed, my face went bright red as my face flushed with embarrassment. Not even Adam had seen this much of me. Whenever we were together, the lights were always off and we were under covers, usually trying to not get caught. Once my shirt laid on the cold concrete next to me, Kenji’s mouth dropped open. Out of shame I began to shy away from him, but he stopped me with his arms wrapped around my waist. His eyes were full of wonder and lust as they roamed over my naked chest and stomach.
“Please don't shy away from me, you're so gorgeous. I want to look at you” I could sense the sincerity in his voice, so I relaxed some. His lips fell to my collarbone leaving a trail of warmth in it's wake as he travelled further down. I couldn't control the whimpers that came from deep within me as his lips came to my breast. His lips and hands were ravishing me in a way that I'd never experienced before. Not like I was delicate porcelain in need of protecting, but like I was strong, and like my strength was something he needed, not the other way around. I was suddenly overwhelmed with the need to be skin to skin with him, I didn't want this feeling to end.
