My sister LOVED Shera, and for some reason is ABSOLUTELY shipping Adora and Glimmer (I don't know what to say to that but I get her, they're so cute at first, but I really see them more as a family)

She has a really hard time liking anything, but she just started jumping the first time Shera transformed and threatened to watch alone overnight... That's great news actually! /silly but /gen

YAYYYYYYY and yea glimadora/glimora is a pretty big ship in the fandom. I definitely don’t because I see them as sisters and I ship glow (glimmer and bow) much more, but I understand people who do ship them. I’m so glad your sister likes it!!!!!

As soon as they walk to the bleachers lining the field they spot her by the bench reserved for the players.

She’s hard to miss being as tall as she is

Entrapta jumps, yelling Scorpia’s name and is waving so agressively Glimmer has to lean to the side to avoid being smacked by a purple pigtail.

Scorpia waves back just as enthusiastically

she’s talking to a shorter tan girl with messy hair tied in a red bandana who rolls her eyes at them

They surprisingly manage to find seats fairly close to the the front despite the game about to start

It’s hot, there’s people everywhere, and all she wants is to curl up and put on some good movies

She doesn’t even know what team they’re even playing.

They’re pretty good tho judging by the pouts on both cheerleaders’ faces

Glimmer snorts remembering a particular movie she’s been dying to rewatch again.

She doesn’t even look up from her phone

“Number nine. Call her a wanker.”

Maybe it’s the heat but Glimmer is feeling that “fight me” mood

“Glimmer, I cant do that! What if she’s nice?”

She puts her phone away

“C’mon Bow! She’s making our girl Scorp look bad. It’s easy, here, like this!”

Before she can’t stop herself glimmer is standing up on her seat and cupping her hands over her mouth.

Deep breath. From the diaphragm

“YOU’RE .A .WANKER .NUMBER .NINEEEE!!!!!!!!”

It echos, the lively jeering crowd goes silent

They all turn to the source

Glimmer is in the midst of realizing what she just did when she catches sight of one of the players stopping mid run

It’s number nine in her white and gold Brightmoon jersey

Glimmers first thought is

Oh no she’s hot!!!

She glances, blue eyes, blonde hair, amazing legs, and THAT FACE!

Oh no she’s REALLY hot! Someone pls kill me!

The girl on the field seems to take a moment to process what she’s seeing

as someone who's not even in the fandom, or have much of an opinion on huntlow outside of 'aw that's cute', the huntlow hate is soooo obviously rooted in fatphobia, and this weird notion fandoms have cultivated, that f/m ships are Bad™

people are trying so hard to cover themselves, saying it's because 'oh, it wouldn't work!' like. it's a cartoon. it's not going to be that deep, and people know that, but because it's Willow, a fat character, it's suddenly absolutely because of that, and not like. fatphobia

and the same thing happened with glimbow! like, i never shipped that myself, always preferred glimadora, but it's so weird that people had this whole Thing about it, when it was so obviously being set up as canon

and it's just. it's so obvious. like when the ship is queer, people can tolerate it. but the moment it's f/m, it's suddenly this Thing, and i'm not saying heterophobia is real or whatever, but fandom has this weird thing with f/m ships, and when you combine that with the fact that like, 99% of fandom is fatphobic, even if not actively, even if not purposefully, it's just. a really bad look man

Outside the fatphobia point (cause it really is that obvious when you see the same pattern with other queer focused shows, there is no discussion that people that hate willow is cause she's fat), is really hard to talk about how there IS at best a weird contempt towards f/m ships in (specially white) queer fandom spaces. Its not heterophobia, cause not only that doesn't exist, in general fandom spaces you can see that people do still tend towards f/m ships even when there is obvious queer undertones between two same-sex characters, but there is an obvious prejudice and dislike towards anything they deem as "straight", even if it isn't, and a an overwhelming protection of same sex ships even if they're just meh. Saving another really REALLY long post of general multiphobia and the usual path of when you become a young activist, about how you're really insecure about everything so you try to double down in your still wrongfully black and white, developing mindset, specially in now a more reactive society and social medias: They just want to be like the oppressors. They just want to be like the oppressors! The only thing they ever have some protection of is same sex ships over everything else, so once a ship isn't same sex, they have no issue in letting out their biphobia, fatphobia, (most of the time internalized) transphobia, ableism and racism out, but when its same sex, they use us as an extra selling point, like other minorities are only important if its convenient to them. And I think this is a problem that is happening all around online, not only the toh fandom, but any fandom.

If you wished to elaborate, I'm quite curious about your controversial she-ra opinions 👀

I just wasn’t a huge fan of season 5 - I feel like it had potential but faltered for me. It seemed like all the characters they had chipped outside of Catra were done solely to avoid writing interactions between them all. We didn’t get a big Scorpia and catra talk, we didn’t get as much mermista + seahawk as I’d have wanted, and it’s an absolute shame we barely got any glimmer and Micah reunion. I’m mad we didn’t see more of Razz or Lonnie + Rogelio + Kyle, or Huntara. Didn’t like how Entrapta was treated, especially being put on a leash, it feels really ableist to me. Wish Catra got to cut her hair of her own accord, the fact it was forced hits very close to forced assimilation of indigenous people in America and takes away a lot of her agency - id have loved to see her actually upset over the loss of her hair too. I hated the bit where adora tells glimmer “I’m a puncher I’m not good with emotions” or something to that effect, because it’s so not true; I wish Adora was more hurt after reuniting and Bow maybe a little less.

Definitely the most controversial opinion I have though is I don’t ship Catra/adora, never vibed with me, I prefer them having a more platonic relationship instead. Reminds me a lot of a really bad past relationship I was in so i have to have it blacklisted to avoid being upset by it. It’s whatever, it is what it is, I’m glad people can enjoy the relationship because I can see what they were trying to tell with the pairing and the message would be really important, but it crossed a line for me in terms of my own personal trauma. It’s worse tho cuz the fanbase tends to romanticize the most upsetting parts of the relationship to me, like adora’s scars from Catra or even outright making art of them hurting each other that’s meant to be romantic or sexy. Fanbases always do this shit tho I guess. Anyways i like most ships outside of c/a and Entrapta/hordak but my fav pairing is glimadora which alone is enough to get me pelted with rocks due to the fact there’s some really annoying glimadora shippers (not saying a name but I’m sure you all know who) who definitely stirred the pot. I sure as hell don’t associate with them anymore because I went outside LMAO

Glimmer for the Character Ask! 🥰🌈

Sexuality Headcanon: She's a hardcore bisexual with a preference for buffy women.

Gender Headcanon: She's a She/They woman but she's the kind of She/They that most people forget is a They and mainly use She.

A ship I have with the said character: Glitra. I just respect the idea of them together. Like, these two people, on their own time almost destroyed the world (possibly the universe) and when I saw that I said: They would be cute together. They give no shits, they take no shits and the Princess Alliance would be SO DONE with their shit. They also have an interesting dynamic and they openly talk about their issue and understand each other very good on an emotional level.

A BROTP I have with the said character: Glimmer s4 and Mermista. You cannot tell me they don't meet once a week to shit talk other people over coffee. Catra joins then to after s5.

A NOTP I have with the said character: Glimadora. Up until s4 they hardly fought and they were always nice and friendly to each other. I hate it. It's TOO HEALTHY!! My ships need to have more spice, more tears, more anger, more unresolved sexual tension, MORE ANGST POTENTIAL! Also, I mostly see them as sisters.

A Random Headcanon: Glimmer is a gun slut. That's it.

General Opinion over the character: Why are people so freaking angry over her being a bitch in s4? Okay, I get it, directing her anger to innocent people was wrong but you can't really blame her for being angry. She lost her mother and her whole world changed because she became queen, cut her some slack. Also, she looked smoking hot in s4 so everything's forgiven.

I'm just curious about what makes you like Catradora\Glimbow more than Glimadora or Glitra-I'm not trying to be rude I'm just curious about your side because I always preferred the other two (Bow and SeaHawks also cute but seamista is something we can both agree on) I mentioned and I would like to hear your thoughts.

I’m a sucker for enemies-to-lovers, so Glimmer/Adora is out right there in that there wasn’t much conflict. Okay, fair, Glimbow also didn’t have very much conflict either until towards the end, but it was clear they both challenged each other to grow and trusted each other in ways I found genuinely heartwarming. Like, it’s hard to win me over with a childhood friends-to-lovers trope (generally I’m like “blecchhhh”), but Glimbow did it. I think Adora added some conflict between Glimmer and Bow by highlighting their differences as well. 

Glimmer and Bow had similar flaws in that they both struggled with accepting their identities and roles, and their parallel journeys just really spoke to me. They were able to help the other when they weren’t able to help themselves, even when it seemed like it might be too late at various times. Through their relationship, they become more fully realized versions of themselves, which is what any good romance should do--and even though Glimbow is largely wholesome and not fraught with conflict like Catradora or Entrapdak, it also possessed the ability to destroy them if they had let it (having the same flaws is a recipe for a disaster or salvation). 

Glitra is really cool, and I like their relationship a lot, but they just didn’t have the same level of history or the same deep thematic interactions that Catra had with Adora. The crux of Catra’s character was around her relationship with Adora and there was a genuine complexity to it: meaning, Catra had to let her go, yet her love wasn’t invalid or “not love” either. I liked that the story explored this. Glimmer’s own jealousy over Bow is played for laughs but actually parallels Catra’s for Adora pretty well. 

The story also was clearly building towards Catradora and towards Glimbow, and did its job in convincing me they were good ships (as it did with all its ships, like, good job She-Ra).

1. What made you ship it?

I actually have a story for this lol. So I have this friend who was super obsessed with Sherlock and she sat me down for the first 2 eps and kept going “see??? Aren’t they so in love???” But I was in the midst of my own sexuality crisis and had a ton of internalized homophobia so I just kinda awkwardly went “hehe I guess yeah” and also very confused because Sherlock is a very confusing show on first watch and just trying to figure out what was happening lmao. BUT as I kept watching on my own I really couldn’t deny their relationship and I specifically remember going “yep. They’re gay.” In the pool scene of TGG.

2. What are your favorite things about the ship?

Ahhhh okay so I love love love how they’re such a light in each other’s life and keep each other going and found each other at such a great point in their lives, when they were both so alone, and how badly they need each other-

Also the fact that they’re flatmates is so cute and domestic fjdjjsjdjf

3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have about your ship?

Mary!! Is!! Awesome!!

Look I ship Johnlock as much as anyone else but please Mary is a great character. Why do we have to take the one strong female character (Molly and Irene are also great and could’ve been incredible if Mofftiss had done them right but that’s another story-) and decide she sucks :(

1. What made you ship it?

They're so flirtatious oh my god. Like all they know how to do is be angsty or be flirty with each other. Often both at the same time. Catra and Adora's first scene together is just,,, the homoerotic tension They're just so cute together and I desperately needed some wlw content in my life, it gave me no choice

2. What are your favorite things about the ship?

CHILDHOOD FRIENDS TO ENEMIES TO LOVERS CAN IT BE MORE PERFECT

Also this ship and this show as a whole is just so healing and so important. It's a canon wlw ship that such beautifully shows the progression from two very close friends who grew up together and were always there for each other, through all the abuse they endured as kids, to two very hurt and confused teenagers having their lives flipped around, Adora recognizing how she and Catra have been on the wrong side and being able to go join the rebellion, but Catra not being ready to accept that yet and seeing this as Adora leaving her, to two sworn enemies who never kill each other when they have the chance, no matter how much they say they want to, both of them fighting with so much internally, though Catra being so much more alone. Then finally them finding each other again, and healing and dealing with all of their trauma together.

The character development and the development of their relationship is just *chefs kiss*

3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have about your ship?

Oooh idk. Maybe Adora and Glimmer interacted romantically and probably had crushes on each other at some point? I don't ship them, I just think something definitely happened between them and idk how common that view is. I know there is a reasonably sized Glimadora fandom, but idk if a lot of Catradora shippers also think there was something with Glimmer and Adora.

Glimmer woke up feeling rested for the first time in possibly months. She felt like maybe— just maybe— things weren’t as bad as she had thought. After all, the project was going well and her grade might go up, she and her mom had spent some nice time together, Bow was sending her weird memes, and— last but not least— she and Adora were friends. Was “friends” the right word? They were more than friends? less than friends? They were Friends*

(*Stipulations May Apply).

Glimmer stretched her arms over her head, smiling as sunlight streamed through her window and splashed across her face. It was warm and golden and seemed sweet somehow— much like a certain jock she knew. Or maybe she was just projecting her crush onto the entire world, even the very sunlight.

The day passed mostly uneventfully. Well, apparently a big fight broke out during one of the passing periods and the whole school was talking about it but Glimmer had been on the opposite side of the campus at the time of the event and frankly didn’t care.

She managed to make it to Chemistry early which seemed to be a surreal experience for both her and Weaver. She tried not to pay attention to the stunned look of incredulity Weaver gave her as she walked by.

Glimmer nearly sat down at her desk before deciding that— just this once— maybe taking a risk would be alright. She made her way to the counter on the side of the classroom. More specifically, the counter where Adora and Cat usually stood before class started. She lifted herself up and sat on the edge of the cool, black plastic of the slab. Now all that was left to do was wait.

Cat and Adora stalked in a few minutes later; and stalk was the correct description— their legs, obviously powerful from the years of soccer, beneath the matching running shorts they wore. Glimmer swallowed and and it seemed it stick in her throat. Maybe this wasn’t such a good idea after all.

The only thing less noticeable than Cat’s bright red crop top was the glower painted across her face, “Hi, Glimmer. Can I ask you what you’re doing over here?”

“Oh uh—“ Glimmer could feel a blush rising to match the colour of Cat’s shirt.

Before she had a chance to finish, Adora lunged forward and tackled her in a hug. Even without the shock, the force of it nearly knocked her over onto her back.

“Hey Glimmer!!” Adora was beaming and Glimmer couldn’t help but return the smile.

“Hi Adora?” She didn’t mean it to sound like a question but maybe it was appropriate seeing she sure as hell didn’t know what was going on. How did Adora always manage to freeze her brain??

For once Glimmer was grateful to hear Weaver’s voice as the teacher began snapping at everyone to go to their seats.

“Oh! Bye then! See you in a few minutes!” Adora waved brightly and turned to practically jog across the room.

Glimmer slipped off of the countertop still feeling dazed. But the fog in her brain felt different than usual, like it was lighter somehow. By the time she sat down, she realized she had been smiling since Adora had hugged her.

Ms Weaver’s voice echoed meaninglessly in Glimmer’s mind. She didn’t care about the pedantic nonsense the teacher was complaining about or whatever useless information she was yelling. All Glimmer cared about was the way Adora’s arms felt wrapped around her and how happy she seemed to see Glimmer. Glimmer’s head may have been empty but her chest felt warm and filled to the brim.

Weaver clapped her hands and the sound startled Glimmer from warmth within her. Chairs began scraping against the dirty linoleum floor and students moved to work with their partners so she could do the same. Glimmer stood up, about to join the shuffling tangle of students. She was surprised that Weaver was giving them so much time in class to work on the project but if it meant more time she got to spend with Adora... well, she wasn’t complaining.

In the time it took Glimmer to stand and reach for her bag, Adora had already slipped into the desk next to her.

“Oh!” Glimmer stood still, feeling dumb as she blinked down at Adora, “I was going to walk over to you but—“

“Beat ya to it,” Adora cut her off with a wink.

Glimmer tried for a smile, “Yeah I guess so.”

It felt like her insides were clenching together in a fist. Stop making yourself look like an idiot, why do you have to be so awkward? You’re going to make her think you don’t like her. Again.

When she sat down slowly, her knees were stiff, like she had aged several decades just from the stress of trying to talk to Adora the past few days.

Adora smiled at her. Glimmer tried to smile back but she could tell she wasn’t quite accomplishing her goal. Despite the noise of chatter and crafting and the various sounds of high school students getting off track, the silence between them was glaring, nearly painfully so.

Say something, anything. Glimmer couldn’t, she didn’t know what to say, how to say it. Adora was just a girl, just a normal girl; why was she so damn hard to talk to? You’re lying to yourself. She’s not some normal girl. She’s so much more than that. You wanted this, you wanted to feel this way. Now handle it.

“Your hair looks really nice today!”

At the sound of Adora’s voice, she realized her eyes had glazed over and she tried to focus on Adora’s face.

“—Not that your hair doesn’t normally look nice I just meant that, you know, I noticed it today and—“

“Oh,” Glimmer’s face was burning. A thousand thoughts sped through her head too fast for her to make sense of any of them. One suggested that Adora could like her as more than a friend, another shot it down quickly, one was just happy that Adora had noticed her at all, a final thought suggested that her face was burning hot enough to fry an egg, “Thank you, um, yeah, thanks. Thanks so much.”

Adora’s smile widened, “You’re welcome!”

Silence spread through the space between them again. Glimmer wished she knew what to say. But what could she say? That she had never seen someone so pretty in her life? That she wanted to spend every day she had left on this planet learning every freckle on Adora’s face and every fleck of gray in her eyes? That she couldn’t stop thinking about her laugh and her voice and the dumb jokes she made. No, there was nothing Glimmer could say. She could feel Adora’s gaze on her, soft but inquisitive, looking for something or trying to memorize something she had already found. If Glimmer hadn’t been blushing already, the intensity of those eyes would have done it.

“So...” Glimmer tried to look anywhere but at Adora. She wished they were far, far apart so she could think clearly but she also wished they were so much closer. Glimmer didn’t know what she wanted, “We should probably get to work, shouldn’t we?”

“Yeah, of course. You’re right.”

Adora turned to face the desk and began gathering the materials she needed. Glimmer squirmed when Adora was looking at her but somehow not having her attention was worse. Glimmer wished she could just make up her damn mind.

“So it looks like all we need to get done is the presentation slides and then figure out who is saying what.”

Just as quickly as the blush had risen, Glimmer felt the blood drain from her face, “Wait, why does anyone need to say anything?”

“We have to present our projects, remember?” Adora was smiling at her kindly.

“Um, no, I guess—“ Glimmer looked down, the words sticking heavily in her throat, “I guess I forgot. Sorry.”

“Hey, it’s alright! No big deal!”

Glimmer’s hands came to life, fidgeting sporadically as she clutched them in her lap, “No, it’s not that. I’m just really bad at school presentations.”

She felt stupid but it was the truth; she liked making things and showing them to others... just from a distance. When she had to present it, had to tie herself to it, she felt like everyone was analyzing and critiquing her; not whatever she had made. It made her freeze and choke up and forget everything she had planned on saying. She didn’t want to let Adora down, didn’t want to show her how useless she could really be.

Adora had part of her mouth quirked to the side, comically deep in thought, “Would it help if we practiced presenting it a few times before hand? Just the two of us?”

“I don’t know... maybe?” It would be even worse if she didn’t try at all, right? If she just gave up and let Adora do all the work on her own? Right? For once her mind left her without its input. Great, the one time I could actually use it and now is when you decide to shut up. I’m disappointed in you, brain, disappointed but not surprised.

“It’s worth a try!” Adora scrolled through the slides she had made, obviously trying to make a decision about something, “I don’t think I’m going to be able to finish these by the end of the period; do you think we could hang out together after school today and finish it?”

“Yes!” The word was out of her mouth before Glimmer had the chance to think about it.

Adora looked happily surprised, “Ok, great! Meeting me at the soccer field at 4:00?”

Glimmer was still in stunned disbelief at what she had said, “Yeah, yeah sure. Sounds good.”

“It’s a date!” Adora face turned pink as Glimmer’s shock shifted onto her, “I— oh. I meant like, you know, a date. Not a date, just a date.”

Glimmer couldn’t help but laugh. Her head was light, like somebody had taken out her brain and replaced it with cotton candy. A date? She didn’t mean it like that, of course she didn’t. She couldn’t. She’s perfect and I’m just... me. You’re getting ahead of yourself and you’re getting hopes up far too high. She took a deep breath, hoping to settle all of the ideas and questions and that word from rattling around in her head. Her anxiety was right, she was getting way too ahead of herself.

Glimmer cut in through Adora’s rambling, smiling sadly. Adora was, well, adorable when she got all awkward and lost her usual composure; but it hurt knowing that Glimmer could never get what she wanted, settling on looking from afar. A date, “Yeah, I know what you mean.”

“Right, right of course you did, sorry,” Adora still seemed sheepish which puzzled Glimmer.

She wanted to ask why Adora was acting so weird, but she was arguably the far weirder one of them so maybe it was best to just leave good enough alone, “I guess we should probably get back to work then?”

The rest of the period went by quickly, Adora diligently gathering and typing information and Glimmer doing her best to be helpful, placing the text onto the slides.

Adora seemed caught up in her work and Glimmer didn’t want to bother her. But with her eyes focused and face grimacing, Glimmer just wanted to make her laugh or at least relax a little bit.

Glimmer tried to focus but there really wasn’t much for her to do. Besides, she couldn’t stop thinking about how close she and Adora were sitting, nearly bumping shoulders. It would be so easy to just lean over and kiss her cheek. Shut up. It’s never going to happen. Stop letting these feelings get so strong. But how could she not feel this way? She almost felt bad for not being more productive.

The bell rang and the classroom once again erupted into noise as students raced to leave Weaver’s domain.

Adora stood up and grabbed her bag in one swift movement, “4:00 at the soccer fields! Don’t forget me.”

Glimmer watched her jog out the door, melting into her seat. She couldn’t forget her if she tried.

Am I the only one that Prefers Glimadora over Catradora?

The only one? No, not by a long shot. Unfortunately, the glimmadora fandom is even smaller now after season 5, but we are definitely still here!!

OKAY so I binged season 5 of She-Ra

and it was ~♡*SO GOOD*♡~

Here is my very spoilery review, from perspective of I, a Glimadora fan, but a Glimadora fan who grew up in the Queer Representation Drought of the 90′s.

OKAY, so, if you’ve kept reading firstly thank you. And may we all dance together and THANK NOELLE.

Admittedly I went into this season not hopeful anyway for Glimadora, after what happened with them last season (and the fact that Catra and Adora’s star signs match the star signs of the Showrunner and her Wife? .....Yeah). 

I still love them, and think the spark of possibility of their romance is and was a gorgeous thing, and will remain one of my favorite parts of the show.

But.

WE GOT DECENT REPRESENTATION, SO very DECENT REPRESENTATION. BETTER THAN ANYTHING I’VE SEEN IN AN ALL-AGES SHOW IN MY LIFE SO FAR. 

And I HAVE to be grateful for that. 

The people behind Korrasami fought so that we could have canonical, actually represented Catradora. The entire Crewniverse, esp. Rebecca Sugar, fought SO HARD so we could have canonical, actually represented Catradora. Hell, Naoko Takeuchi made Uranus and Neptune lovers, and Be-Papas made Utena queer as the day is long, so we could have canonical, actually represented on-screen Catradora. So much has been done to get us here, so I can’t help but be grateful - baseline, gratitude, first and always - that we got this level of representation AT ALL.

And ALL THOSE Netossa and Spinnerella moments. MY GAY HEART. The fact that we got all those kisses, and the actual use of the word WIFE. Priceless.

AND Double Trouble. EXTRA priceless.

AND Kyle/Rogelio.

AND all the moments where everybody was queer with.....well, everybody. 

This show has given us SO much, that even though I didn’t get exactly what I wanted..... I can’t be mad. I’m not. I’m just so touched and pleased.

And honestly - I didn’t know how they were going to get Catradora to where they ended up, after everything. Not having shipped it before, I didn’t have a lot of thought-energy invested there, and since I didn’t have high hopes for a Glimadora-romantic-reconciliation after their fall last season I didn’t really forsee anything Catradora going well. I thought, honestly, that if they were going to push for Catradora endgame after all, it was going to feel forced and we’d only get implications, not THE CONFESSION. AND THE KISS (both kisses!).

And everything that built up to that? SO WELL constructed. I am so impressed. Not only between Catra and Adora directly, but the fact that Catra fits so well into the Best Friend Squad that I can’t picture them without her now that it’s happened. And I never, ever thought that was gonna happen.

(And I’m not even going to start about the Utena parallels in Catra saving Adora from that last vision she was having. You know what I mean.)

NOELLE I WAS SO WRONG TO DOUBT YOU.

On that note, again, I REALLY REALLY REALLY also SO much appreciate the Spinnetossa storyline, that we got to see SO much of them, and SO many kisses, and the threat of Spinnerella having been compromised was taken SO SERIOUSLY. DAMN. I shipped it before (how could you not?) but I ship it so hard now, and HAPPILY take it as consolation about my aforementioned ship woes (which can’t even really be woes. See above).

And as usual, the world building for the whole show - the world itself, the plot, the historical impact of all the backstory, everything - was SO WELL DONE. I have been massively impressed on that level alone since day 1, and now, at the end, I’m still not disappointed.

Also Scorpia. Always, but especially in her friendship with Perfuma this season (love love loved the resolution between her and Catra, too. I may be on board with Catradora now but I may have still cheered a lot when she blasted her, even though she was mind-controlled, and definitely squealed at the hug). 

And all the scenes between Shadow Weaver and Castaspella. The build up to her redemption was handled very, very well, too. Even though I still hate her face.

I do have to say, though, that as a Glimadora fan I’m not sure how to approach Glimbow. I did not see that coming (as much as it wasn’t explicitly shown, and as much as I appreciate that it was left open to interpretation, I do think that the timing of their “I love you” shortly before Catradora’s “I love you” was not an accident). What I DO appreciate about them together, though, is that both characters are still queer af - and in my opinion, their love pushes Bow’s sexuality in a more fluid way than I expected. When I first saw the character designs in season 1, and with how he reacted to Seahawk, I was pretty sure they were going to go ‘stereotypical gay man’ with him - and I don’t say that with any harshness on the need for gay male representation, or any doubts about Noelle or anyone else on the creative team. I say that from the background of someone having grown up in the 90′s, where the best queer representation I saw on any non adult-adult TV was Willow and Tara of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” (which and who I LOVE). BUT even with their loveliness, Willow’s bisexuality/pansexuality was ERASED as soon as she became attracted to a woman (like she tripped and was like “Whoops, guess I’m homosexual now!”). So I wasn’t very optimistic about Bow being any of the LGBTQ’s except the G, BUT a) clearly I was wrong, from the start, and yay for that, and b) he reads so strongly as pansexual, in my opinion, and so does Glimmer (I know and respect that many may disagree with me on this, not trying to start any kind of wars here. Especially since we just wrapped one up ;D ). So them together actually only solidifies that representation, I think.

(And I also gotta note that I am SO PLEASED with my girl Glimmer’s character development this season, in general. I was very very glad with how they handled her, especially after how hard - though understandable - how hard her decisions in season 4 were to watch.)

Definitely definitely definitely need a rewatch, now, from the perspective of Catradora AND Glimbow. An open one, trying to see both developing from the beginning, and value and respect all that went into building them.

I wanna end by saying that one of the things I appreciate SO much about this fandom is that we all have SO much LOVE for the show itself, and the representation we’ve been given. So I hope no matter what we shipped, still shipped, whatever we wished for - we can be grateful for the gift that this show is. And hopeful, too, for a spinoff in whatever format they can give us.

(I personally want more comics, but I’m super biased.)

P.S. Shoutout also to Entrapdak, Wrong Hordak and to Keston John for all the amazing work he did with all the clones this season. Damn.

(And that moment with Prime-possessed Hordak and She-ra/Adora at the end was ALSO PERFECT.)
