It’s pretty common to see the windborne bard at Angel’s share, drinking his worries away, eyes watery and red, hunched over the bar counter because of too many drinks as the bartender and the owner of the bar do their own thing.

But it wasn’t common to see the bard quiet, at the second floor, the corner of the building, eyes only red and face soaked with salty tears.

He had come stumbling, already drunk, ordering more wine as he walked up the stairs with such fatigue, slumping himself over the wooden chair, the only thing audible being a mutter of a name.

And when you get pushed in the tavern by your lovely friends–a floating white haired girl and a blonde traveller–you’re forced to ask Diluc where your lover is. The three look at you, expecting you to go upstairs and see him. To talk to him. To talk things out. To reconcile. Your feet are heavy, as if chains of balls of steel hold you down like a prisoner.

When you see him all you could feel was the cracks of regret become bigger and stronger–the pull so strong that you can’t reach the railings of the second floor.

He sees you. But he doesn’t run up to you in a hug anymore like he used to. He only looks away, thinking that you were his desperate imagination.

But you make your slow way towards him, your hand reaching out to him. You can see how his face seemed to be covered in pain, hurt–that you caused. It breaks your heart, and you wish you could turn back time to say things differently.

When your hand manages to hold his hand on the table, he stiffens. Body rigid, head turning slowly, eyes looking at you to the hand that holds his.

The tears come back again, and you hold him tight.

Venti grips your clothes in such strength from pain that you couldn’t help but continue muttering sorry, apologies that could only go so far to ease the smallest bit of pain.

He’s drunk.

He won’t be able to remember anything of what you said.

Yet his mumbles say how he forgives you, how he wishes you were back in his arms again.

And you promise him that you will.

You promise to him in tears.

꒰adi moment꒱ a little birthday gift i'd written myself back in november! need y'all to know that i'd considered editing it, but decided not to after i realized that this was 420 words. anyways, i hope you enjoy! ໒꒰ྀི｡˃ ᵕ ˂ ꒱ྀི১

The Wanderer, while not entirely inexperienced in matters of affection, is certainly one of the more rusty individuals you’d ever come across. Not that you could even blame him, of course. He’d long forgotten what it means to live a quiet life, long forgotten the sensation of being held, of being lavished in adulation without an ulterior motive in mind, of freely allowing himself to be shown tenderness without the fear of having it prematurely torn away from him once again.

He is not fond of birthdays. Yours, especially. 

But he has already adjusted to your adoration, and he has already allowed you to worm your way into his nonexistent heart. He’s already realized that you will not be with him forever, so it’s really the least that he can do to make your remaining time with him enjoyable. To reciprocate your affections, and to bask in the warmth of your smile, and silence the part of his brain that simply cannot allow seem to forget how your tale is destined to end.

You’re nearly given a heart attack when you open the door to your shared residence, greeted by the sight of your lover standing directly behind it, not even given the chance to properly greet him before you’re ordered to close your eyes. The grip on your arm is nothing short of gentle, an interesting contrast to the strictness of his tone, guiding you to sit on the couch before… something is pushed into your palms, slender fingers pushing your own to curl around it.

A doll, you realize, eyes quickly snapping open as you glance towards the item in your palms. Its features are a perfect replica of your own, down to the clothing you often favored, the ‘stupid’ smile you’d wear whenever you called him 'Hat Guy'. The same ‘stupid’ smile you wore now, tackling the Wanderer into a hug ꒰bone-crushing, though it’s not as though it’d have any effect on him꒱, interrupting his attempts to brush off the weight of the gesture while you profusely thanked him for putting in the effort to make it for you.

And, although your lover had always been the type to keep his own doll on him at all times, you now come home to see the both of them sitting atop your bed, positioned to lean into each other. He’ll huff out an excuse whenever you ask about it, but will never outright deny that the arrangement was intentional.

… And that’s all the confirmation you really need.

have you tried giving julia an arm? see if ashleys willing to share her specialty with her. but add more excess spices and she'll taste something slightly worse than the cable she craves.

i can use my power from the realm beyond to make her have nightmares. erm..no blanket though. but if she submits to the terrors emitting from that hole she gnawed through, the realm beyond will reward her with a comfy blanket.

i finally got a doctor to analyse my problems and diagnose me, and ive been doing pretty well since then!

has your girlfrie-sister been good? i suppose she hasn't been committing crimes, correct?

if she's recently separated the parts of a corpse for consumption purposes, she should give some to me. i want to bring some gifts to my realm as compensation for lazing around.
