So it turns out Give Me Coffee or Give Me Death plays Queen instrumentals, and after listening way too hard to the coffee date scene, I gotta share how well the part of the song they used fits.

Crowley gets a fantastically dramatic entrance to the section that makes everyone feel things:

Mama, ooh I don't wanna die I sometimes wish I'd never been born at all

Great for a snake having an existential crisis. Then we get the instrumental break, which builds until it drops off right in time to highlight the comedy of:

Until Aziraphale says:

I see a little silhouetto of a man

He sure did!

And there's a reason beyond the dialogue why this part feels so stressful, because it gets the back and forth of:

Go back and listen to the scene, it's a very subtle joke. 😄

Okay I’ve been unable to stop listening to the season two soundtrack since it came out and I’ve made an observation. I was wondering why “The End?” sounded so familiar to me. It’s the most emotionally devastating piece on the soundtrack in my opinion, second only to the moment at the end of episode 2 when Aziraphale and Crowley are essentially talking about how lonely the lives they live are.

This moment is called “Fallen Angel” on the soundtrack, and at the 1:48 mark in that track (right after Crowley says “then nothing has to change” in the episode), we hear the same theme as “The End?”. Someone correct me if I’m wrong on this, but I believe that’s the only other time we hear this theme, and I think it’s tied to Aziraphale and Crowley’s feelings of loneliness.

They aren’t really working together yet during the Job storyline, they just sort of end up helping each other out. But I see that as a real turning point in their relationship. Aziraphale sees that Crowley isn’t quite evil like he’s been told to believe. Crowley sees that Aziraphale is much more willing and able to think for himself than other angels. And both are willing to admit that their situations are incredibly lonely.

Crowley says nothing has to change, but it already has. They trust each other more already, though they don’t quite have that relationship formed yet. I think this theme plays here because it’s the last time they truly felt alone. After that point, they at least know they aren’t alone in how they feel towards their respective head offices. They have that one other person who knows what it’s like, and they feel less alone for it.

Then, the theme comes back as soon as Crowley starts to drive away at the end of episode 6. They’re back to feeling completely alone.

soemday i do want twst to hold an AU event, like for example for halloween, we could get an event where the characters are just their overblot self and we're like transported in an NRC where its just doomed bcs the overblots have ruined it sdkjfjalkjfd LIKE the potential for real horror 😋😋😋 even though it feels kinda disastrous to have all 7 (or 8) overblotees in one place HAHA then i even imagine we only have Crowley as our ally LMAO
