Established by the Seaside Premier Development Corporation, Avara is the first of its kind nature and yacht club located at Calauag Bay in Taytay, which was Palawan’s first capital.

The plan for the exclusive resort was formally unveiled at the Grand Hyatt Manila led by its President and CEO Ms. Veronica C. Young.
“After many months of sailing and voyaging aboard bangkas and riding waves, we found the perfect island in Taytay, Palawan to be the home of our pioneering project. It is with a great pleasure to present to you tonight, Avara Nature and Yacht Club - the first of its kind in the Philippines, bridging the middle class to the lifestyle of the rich and famous. As Seaside Premier Development Corporation’s flagship project, we aim to redefine seaside living, where nature meets luxury,” 
she said in her opening remarks.

Avara, which means Sunshine Island, is an eco-luxurious resort that use solar panels as a source of renewable energy, utilize a recycled water treatment system, maximize a hydroponic garden, and take advantage of other eco-materials available.
Its accommodation is inspired by the Maldivian architecture. Members can choose to stay in a one-bedroom Water Villa with jacuzzi, two-bedroom Water Villa with private infinity pool, or one-or two-bedroom Beach Casitas. Aside from the villas and casitas, Avara members will also have an exclusive access to a two-bedroom yacht with crew for an overnight stay or for cruising around the island and nearby areas. Avara’s yacht features two cabins and a family room in the lower deck; a living room, a kitchen and dining area, and a plunge pool in the main deck; and an open dining space and a sun deck in the fly bridge.
The Avara Island has nothing but the best facilities for its members. Guests will first experience the Avara service upon their arrival at the dock or the harbor. But the ultra-luxurious resort also has a helipad for those who will be coming in by air. VIPs also have the option to skip the reception and go straight to their accommodation. There will also be a boardwalk open for development to entrepreneurial Avara member. Meaning, Avara members can also be concessionaires to open their own business—it could be a coffee shop, a grocery store, a bakery, a souvenir stop, and similar ventures. As support to the member-concessionaires, Avara will ensure that the business will be the island’s lone supplier for the specific product. The island can also accommodate as many as 100 guests at their main dining area and at the grill restaurant. But guests will have more dining options since Avara includes a poolside bar, a seaside bar and lounge, picnic areas, and private dining venues. Avara is fully equipped with a gym, a water sports center, a tennis court, and a golf course to those who want to keep up with their fitness routine. The island also has a playroom and nursery, spa and massage cabanas, a bonfire area, a clinic with an in-house doctor and nurse, and a gaming area for the enjoyment of the Avara members. At any given time, Avara will host up to 300 members to ensure quality service.
As a promised paradise for those who love the beach, Avara offers a myriad of water action such as diving, snorkeling, kayaking, jet-skiing, banana boat riding, stand-up paddle boarding, wind surfing, scuba diving, island hopping, and fishing in coordination with neighbor islands. The resort also provides options for on land activities like trekking, biking, and vegetable picking. There are also a lot of activities that Avara members can enjoy outside its vicinity. After all, Taytay, Palawan boasts of picturesque sites like the Canique Waterfalls, the Lake Manguao, the Irrawaddy Dolphins in Malampaya Sound, the Fuerza de Santa Isabel, and the Church of Santa Monica. Taytay is also hope to a paradise-like hidden valley that gives tourists a bird’s eye view of the pristine, idyllic coastal areas of the municipality.

💛. March o8, 2019, Last week we were having our practice pitching or demo in class. So this is our updates for the Pitch that we had: we have problems, solutions, products, target markets, economics, and who's our competitor. As for the problem, since most in Mindanao experience black/ brown out specially when it has a rotating brownout in CDO city and to different places. So the problem is an insufficient power for a hydroponics system. So the solution will be, we will make or produce a stand alone power for hydroponics system. By making our product which is a power supply, we will make this as two source for an AC and in DC, so that customers and user will not worry if brown out will be coming. So power supply will be both connected to solar panel and through AC outlet and storing those energy to a battery.

As for the economics, we already calculate it, for the solar panel it cost 1000 which is in 50 watts, a charge controller which is in P250 , a Battery costs 500 we just (hangyo) it because it was too expensive. An inverter which we make and it cost 300 over all not including the transformer, only for the small materials to make an inverter. Transformer that costs 300 , it is already the very friendly price they have and the water pump that prizes up to 500 more or less. To sum it up , we able to use 2850. We are trying what we can do to pull down the price so that it will be lesser to the people who will buy and use our product.
👟. Our target market is there is already a 49‰ of hydroponics user around the Philippines, so it is an advantage for us since hydroponics users are way to high than the others. So in the demo day , it will be the big day where people or the panels will be questioning things that we didn't know what are those, so me as an introvert, what am I gonna do to ease the worries in my mind and body I couldn't stop thinking what am I gonna do, when they will pinpoint me and I can't answer it. Too many questions are kept running in my mind, what if we will be rejected again, are we able to take the circumstances, are we kinda give up in this situation or are we gonna succeed? That's just a few thinking that Im worrying about. And so , I forgot to say that our competitor is a company that is a Morse Techpro Specialist Corporation. Which is as we research we found out that it is a hydroponics equipment supplier in CDO , it is located at Kimwa Compound Baloy, CDO.

Lesson Learned: " Time to time, seconds to seconds, the work is still a work, it doesn't matter if you work it hard yet your having a hard time , or making it slowly and softly but making it everyday and surely, it will result to something. SunPower and Maxeon Solar Technologies have completed the strategic transaction announced last November, separating into two independent public companies. 
“Now is the right time for this strategic spin-off, allowing both SunPower and Maxeon to invest in key programs to drive their future profitable growth,” says Tom Werner, chairman and CEO of SunPower. 
“Solar power is poised for significant growth and now each company is well-positioned to succeed based on specific areas of specialization, technology innovation and economies of scale,” he adds.
Tom Werner continues as CEO and chairman of the board of SunPower, headquartered in California’s Silicon Valley, with an employee and economic investment footprint across the U.S. and Canada. It also has an exclusive U.S. dealer network, the largest domestic residential and light commercial franchise. The company’s Hillsboro, Ore., manufacturing facility will remain part of SunPower.
Maxeon is a global solar innovation company with a strong channel to market that includes a worldwide network of more than 1,100 authorized sales and installation partners, and a strategy to move beyond the roof into adjacent DG products outside of the U.S. and Canada. 
Jeff Waters is CEO of Maxeon, headquartered in Singapore with panel and cell manufacturing facilities located in France, Malaysia, Mexico and the Philippines. Concurrent with this transaction is an equity investment of $298 million into Maxeon by long-time partner Tianjin Zhonghuan Semiconductor Co. Ltd. (TZS), a global supplier of silicon wafers. The TZS investment facilitates scale-up Maxeon production capacity of the newest generation of its Maxeon product family.
Maxeon and SunPower are cooperating to develop and commercialize next generation solar panel technologies, with early stage research conducted by SunPower’s Silicon Valley-based research and development group, and deployment-focused innovation and scale-up carried out by Maxeon.

#PHnews: Maasin diocese vows to promote, expand use of renewable energy
MANILA – The Diocese of Maasin in Southern Leyte on Tuesday said the recognition by the Vatican of its effort to preserve the environment will encourage them to promote the use of solar energy and help conserve the environment.
“This news encourages us more to expand the use of renewable energy, solar power, which we have introduced in the diocese,” said Bishop Precioso Cantillas in a statement.
He added that they were surprised that their simple endeavor has been recognized by the Holy See.
“I am surprised to know that our humble effort to implement something to preserve our Mother Earth, heeding the call of Pope Francis' Laudato si Encyclical letter, got recognition and affirmation at a high level,” he said.
Cantillas also hopes that they will be able to further contribute to preserving the natural world.
“Hopefully, we will reach a level where we can contribute more significantly to the restoration and preservation of our environment. We also hope that more dioceses will adopt this alternative power sources so that God's creation will be restored even just in a little degree, and that the Church is continuing Christ's mission of restoring all things back to how the Father has willed it,” he said.
On Monday, the Vatican, in a new document, acknowledged the Maasin diocese in Southern Leyte province for using renewable energy.
It was in 2018 when the diocese allowed the wide-scale installation of solar panels in its 42 parishes with the help of WeGen, a next generation energy-tech business, as its supplier of technology and manpower. (PNA)

One of America’s Biggest Solar Panel Makers Quits Manufacturing
(Bloomberg) — SunPower Corp., one of America’s largest solar-panel makers, is giving up its manufacturing business to focus on installing rooftop solar systems.
The company is spinning off its panel production operations into a new company, Maxeon Solar, that will be based in Singapore with factories in France, Malaysia, Mexico and the Philippines, according to a statement Monday. As part of the deal, a Chinese supplier of silicon wafers will make a $298 million equity investment, valuing Maxeon at $1.03 billion.
SunPower described the move as a natural evolution of the maturing solar business. Panel makers once had to help create their own market by installing the equipment they manufactured. Now the market is big enough for companies to specialize in one or the other. First Solar Inc., the largest U.S. panel maker, walked away in September from the business of building solar farms to focus on manufacturing. SunPower is moving in the opposite direction.
“As the industry gets bigger, you get companies that specialize,” SunPower Chief Executive Officer Tom Werner said in an interview. “It’s part of the mainstreaming of solar.”

The spin-off means the U.S. is losing a major panel maker just as U.S. President Donald Trump tries to preserve solar manufacturing jobs at home. The Trump administration imposed tariffs on solar equipment imports last year in an effort to provide domestic manufacturers with a level playing field. SunPower had won an exemption to the duties for the panels it made overseas because of the premium, high-efficiency nature of its products.
Werner will continue to run SunPower, based in San Jose, and hold onto a small panel factory in Oregon.
Jeff Waters, who leads SunPower’s technologies business unit, will become CEO of Maxeon, after the tax-free spin-off is complete in the second quarter.
SunPower panels are known for being the most efficient in the industry, able to convert more of the energy in sunlight into electricity. That can give its panels an advantage for space-constrained installations like rooftops, though they can also be more expensive than rivals’ products.
Chinese Stake
Tianjin Zhonghuan Semiconductor Co. will own almost 29% of Maxeon after its equity investment, and existing SunPower shareholders will own the rest. SunPower is majority-owned by the French oil giant Total SA. Shares rose 1.2% to close at $8.47 in New York Monday.
In the early days of renewable energy, SunPower and First Solar both built and sold some of the biggest U.S. solar farms. That strategy was born in part by a need for the panel producers to create markets for their products, according to Pavel Molchanov, an analyst with Raymond James & Associates.
Renewables have become more common since then, and the price for solar panels has plunged. Companies are now choosing to specialize in an effort to find an edge over their rivals. “The one-stop-shop of 10 years ago is largely in the rear-view mirror,” Molchanov said.
First Solar sees that edge in manufacturing. It rolled out its flagship Series 6 product and just started production at a new $1 billion factory in Ohio. In September, the company said it would move away from building power plants.
SunPower said it will focus on installing residential and commercial rooftop solar projects. It’s already one of the biggest suppliers, competing against Sunrun Inc., Vivint Solar Inc and Tesla Inc.’s energy unit. That market is expected to grow after a California law that requires solar panels on most new houses takes effect in January, and Werner said he has deals to supply 18 major home builders.
