VALGRACE SCHOOL AU PT 3

Leo works with Jason for what feels like fifteen minutes, joking, laughing, actually learning and just talking. Leo’s forgotten what that felt like… he also talked to the other kids there! He’s pretty sure Apollo’s got a bit of a god complex but he seems super funny and nice, and so does everyone else. He’s pretty sure he even saw Will and Nico holding hands when they thought he wasn’t looking, once or twice. 

When he looked up at the clock at the front of the room, he was shocked and slightly sad that he had roughly five minutes left. Annabeth  stood up at the front of the classroom and began to announce that it was time to get ready to go and he quickly exchanged numbers with Jason. 

… and everyone else.

He said goodbye to everyone before starting to walk out of the school and down the road towards his Abuela’s, almost putting in his earbuds when he hears a familiar voice calling his name. He turns around to see Jason, maybe fifteen feet away. Jason jogs up to him until he’s right next to Leo, smile and cute little blush on his face the whole time. “I didn’t know you walked this way, Leo?”

Percy Jackson Mortal Au

Part 2

Annabeth reached her usual lunch table with some news.

"Hey, you heard about the musical this year?" They all assisted an ambitioned high school. It was one of the best ranked high schools in arts and sports, and a very ambitioned one.

"I think Mr. Apollo's already working on it." Will replied.

"With Mr. D. Even he is helping. And so are Pollux and Castor, they're helping to choreograph. And direct, for that matter."

"Those really want to get into Juilliard, aren't they?" Nico commented from beside his boyfriend Will.

"Yup, they're hoping this will help."

"I doubt Juilliard will be very interested in this kind of stuff." Percy said, opening his arms to welcome Annabeth in an embrace.

She shrugged. "I mean, this school is very recognized in the arts." It was true it was a school with a great arts program. A group had been preparing a Musical on Black History since the previous year supposed to be presented this year and they were very secretive about it. No one other than Mr. Apollo, Mr. D and the group had seen or been to the rehearsals. Even Hazel refused to say something.

"But you didn't ask about the musical." She continued.

"I'm sorry, Annabeth, we'll ask next time." Nico replied sarcastically.

"What about it?" Will asked.

"They're making the continuation of last year! They're making High School Musical 2!"

"Really?"

"Yup."

Last year, they'd all performed in the well-known High School Musical show. They'd been surprised they could sing as well as their paralelisms with their characters. Since they would perform for an entire month non-stop, there had been two casts.

That was how Annabeth and Percy met. They performed as Gabriella and Troy, respectively. Like her character, Annabeth was crazy smart and had originally entered her school for the maths and physics program, but decided to give theater a shot. As she found out, she had a really great voice with a great range and followed to love that form of art. As for Percy, it was shocking to everyone, as he was kind of the stereotypical jock. He was the star and captain of the swimming team and awarded the school with a dozen prizes on his first year.

It didn't come as much as a surprise when they both started officially dating. Everyone on the play would tease them mercilessly and say the characters were made for them.

Even Piper and Jason, who played Gabriella and Troy in the other cast had ended up dating, but it hadn't lasted as much. Jason had originally entered as a jock in the football team

It was also how Nico and Will met and started dating, with the whole cast teasing them as well. But their characters didn't interact a lot, or have chemistry, at least in the first part.

"So, did you hear about the musical?" Silena asked as she plopped down next to Will and grabbed one of his french fries. She'd played Sharpay last year, but she was a much better person and friend than her character.

"What musical?" Leo asked. He wasn't interested in either scenic arts nor sports. Although he could dance to a certain point, he'd joined the school for their maths and physics program, just like Annabeth.

"The one they're doing this year." Silena answered.

"Annabeth just told us." Will commented.

"So, are you auditioning?"

"Yes!" Nico and Will said at the same time, before sharing a kiss.

"No." Leo replied crossly while working on his project.

"Yup." Annabeth said.

"What about you, Percy?" Silena asked.

"I don't know," he admitted. "I'm not really sure it's my thing."

"That is such a Troy thing to say." Will commented.

"Yeah, you were an amazing Troy last year," Silena added.

"Last year." Percy remarked.

"Why not?" Annabeth asked her boyfriend.

"I don't really think I hace a good voice. Or can act, like put the emotion into it." Percy admitted.

"You have a really great voice, Seaweed Brain." Annabeth reassured him.

"Yeah, and the fact you know acting is about putting emotion into it shows you do know about the art." Silena comforted him

"I just don't know. I really want to focus on swimming now."

"Please, you're the most talented swimmer I've ever seen, and I come from Venetia." Nico said.

He just shrugged. "I don't really know. Coach won't like it."

"That's literally the plot of High School Musical," Will whispered under his breath.

"Please, Seaweed Brain? Can you think about it?"

Percy stared into Annabeth's begging eyes he couldn't resist. "Ok, I'll think about it."

"What about you, Leo?"

"Oh, I don't dance."

hey besties. so. playlists.

I mentioned this in the author’s note of the most recent chapter, but at the time I hadn’t actually made any playlists yet… now I have. Because I love you. And because I needed to spiral somewhere other than the Google Doc.

I made a brand new Spotify account so I can finally share all the musical inspo for this fic without doxxing myself (shoutout to my personal Spotify being linked to my full legal name and my cursed high school Facebook account).

So! Here’s what I’ve got so far:

• a Will Solace playlist

• a Nico di Angelo playlist

• and a general fic playlist for songs that would 100% play at another disastrous open mic night with the Seven and the trio

These playlists are:

• not complete (because I keep remembering new songs at 2AM)

• not perfect (sometimes it’s just the vibe or a single lyric, not the whole song)

• emotionally devastating in nature

For Will and Nico’s individual playlists, I kind of split the approach between:

• songs that inspired how I write them

• songs I think they’d actually listen to while pining in their respective messy bedrooms

It’s a mix of yearning, being in love, and all the terrifying capital-F Feelings we collectively suffered through during the Great Angst Block of 2025. There are also a few tracks that hint at things coming up—505 by Arctic Monkeys, for example, is definitely tied to a future outtake that is… spicy. Like, three chili emojis minimum.

Anyway!! I know a few of you who read the fic follow me here, so I figured I’d drop the links now and I’ll include them again in the next author’s note.

Next chapter should hopefully be out tomorrow. Until then: enjoy, cry, overanalyze lyrics, etc.

And if you don’t like Taylor Swift… I’m so sorry. Will’s playlist is about 80% her and I have no regrets.

Also, while we’re on the topic of that Arctic Monkeys song…I need opinions.

Specifically about Will and Nico progressing with the spicier side of their relationship.

Look, I’m a slow burn girl at heart—I love a long, emotionally devastating lead-up. But also… I want them to hurry up and have sex.

And yes, I am fully aware that I am the one writing this fic and therefore entirely in control, but I keep going back and forth like:

• is it too soon?

• should we keep building toward it with longing and mutual pining and meaningful glances in candlelight?

• or should they just absolutely wreck each other already?

Important note: none of the smut will be included in the main fic—I’m very conscious of the fact that the PJO/HOO fandom has a wide range of ages and not everyone likes smut anyways, so anything explicit will be posted separately as outtakes, clearly tagged.

But if you’re into that kind of thing and want to help me figure out where it fits in the timeline—or if you just have opinions—please feel free to drop me a message! I would genuinely love the input and will be forever grateful to anyone who helps me untangle this chaos.

Context; I celebrate Chinese/Lunar New Year. I want to write/kick crying out into the world my Nezha older brother to MK AU on AO3 for the occasion, which is as said. It's an AU in which Tang and Pigsy pray to the protector deity of children, after finding a random child left on the doorstep. Nezha hears the prayer and, throughout the years, finds he cannot leave MK alone and accidentally becomes something of an older brother figure.

Nico has a travel YouTube channel. And a crush on one Will Solace. i'm such a sucker for socmed au's and this one is done SO so well. my all time favorite. and it's sequel too!! the formatting i am in awe of, but other than that, it's just a really good time and i just love all the little details. i've reread this too many times to count and was SO excited when a sequel was published, and i can only hope that there's more to the au in the future!! Nico di Angelo, despite not realizing he's a missing person, is the subject of one of the episodes. They meet by chance in a random bar, and shenanigans ensue. i mean, if it's got a taylor swift title, i'm already sold. and then it's part of a series called "Hey Stephen is a solangelo song and i will die on that hill" which is the realest thing ever?? but ASIDE from that, i could honestly rec this entire series (+ the other series it's a part of, "Nothing to See Here" which is all part of the same au) and also everything by this author - it's hilarious, i just love the premise, and the writing is so good!! and hey stephen is a solangelo song, thereby reinforcing my "fearless is will's favorite album ever of all time and i will die on this hill" argument

His trials are over; why isn’t he back on Olympus? okay so. this is a bit of a longer fic. and it's a post-toa, pjoxmcga crossover, and it's not *entirely* focused on solangelo - but when i tell you that this fic, if i weren't reading it on ao3, i would truly and full-heartedly believe was a real life published novel - i am NOT LYING. i rec'd this to my friend right after i read it bc i was just like so so obsessed with it and it's literally just. the plot?? is insane. i'm in awe of the author, bc this isn't even the only novel-length fic that they've written with an insane plot too (their fic Eclipse is also phenomenal, but it's more focused on apollo and hades so i didn't rec it here) there's some fierrochase here, lester being lester, and some very very very cute solangelo! and meg! i think sometimes you read a fic and you're like "oh, shit, that could be a novel, and i would think it's better than some actual novels i've read" and this is one of them

A Solangelo Wicked AU

I told myself I wouldn't start writing it until after the holidays because I am busy, but it won't stop turning around in my head so have a headcannon list:

- Will is Glinda and Nico is Elphaba, obviously

- They will get a happy ending together somehow

- Fiyero is Annabeth. There's not any secondary romance with her and Nico or Will, but maybe for a second Nico thinks she and Will are together

- But she does have a romance with Percy, who is Dorothy (not a child)

- The initial reasoning for Percy being Dorothy was just, he drops a house on Nico's sister, and we all know Nico blames Percy for Bianca's death

- But then I also realized, if Annabeth is the scarecrow, maybe the baby animal they rescued was a satyr, not a lion. Now we have the golden trio on a quest

- Boq is not real. He does not exist.

- Chiron is obviously Dr. Dillamond

- The discrimination is against animals and also magical creatures, like satyrs and centaurs

- Instead of the wizard of Oz, it's the great wizard Kronos, who turns out to be just some guy named Luke behind a curtain

- I feel like Percy ends up fighting him somehow

- It's just an enemies to lovers college au but with magic and political intrigue

- Oh! And the school is called Schist!

Saturday Morning

(Solangelo future AU)

Giggles erupted throughout the house as Will woke up. The sun shone through the supposed (although Nico swore they didn’t work) black-out curtains. Orange light covered Will as he sat up in bed, trying to find his phone to see what time it was.

“Shh, guys, you gotta be quiet. We don’t wanna wake up your Dad” Nico said, hushing the giggles coming from their excited children. His voice heard through the cracked door. The smell of pancakes wafting throughout their home. Will was glad it was a Saturday. Days like these didn’t happen often due to Will being a high school teacher every weekday or Nico having shifts at the hospital almost every other night. He was thankful to have these moments, to wake up to his husband and kids having a peaceful morning. He didn’t always get those when he was a few years older than his eldest, Florence. Most Saturday mornings at the infirmary consisted of passing medicines or yelling at campers to ‘stop hanging from the trees and the ceiling boards or you will fall and hurt yourself’.

“Dada! You should— you should make a heart one!” Their two year old daughter exclaimed, starting to tip the barstool she sat in as she reached herself over the counter. She looked a lot like Will, almost white blonde curly hair with her father’s brown eyes. She had freckles covering her face and seemed to hardly ever be in a bad mood. Will loved to hear her stories, despite her being two years old and mostly rambling.

“Lizzy, you have to sit flat or else you’re gonna fall and hurt yourself” Their six year old son said, trying to move his sister into sitting correctly. Florence was always more anxious. Will knows he had gotten that from him. He looked a lot like his father though, dark wavy hair with brown eyes. Sometimes, Will would have flashbacks to his older brother, Michael, when he looked at his son. Though, he had a similar personality to Nico. Or at least, the personality Nico had when he was Florence’s age. Florence would get really excited and animated when started on a specific topic.

“I’ll make some hearts, you just have to sit flat like your brother said. Florence, you want to grab the markers and paper from the table?” Nico said, turning his head around to his son, “Bub, you also need to get your glasses. Gotta get used to them.”

“I got em’” Will said, handing the glasses to his son that he grabbed from the table. He kissed both kids on the head as his daughter reached for him, “Hi darlin’, how’d you sleep?”

“Florence had his book light on alllllllllllll night last night!” She explained, her curly blonde hair covering her eyes.

“Yeah? Maybe he just had a good book.” He walked over to his husband who was working on making pancakes on a skillet, settling his daughter on his hip. He kissed his cheek as Nico looked at him for a moment, smiling. He seemed calm, at peace. Something he didn’t always see in him when they first met.

“I was drawing, not reading.” Florence said, starting to color at the counter. His dark hair wild in a similar fashion to his father’s. His eyes solely focused on the art he was trying to create. “Can I hangout with Marie today? She has somethin’ to show me she said.”

“Yeah— I’ll take you both to the park, y’all can run around.” Will said, watching his son beam at the idea of both going to the park and hanging out with his best friend. Florence and Marie had met just a year prior, but had become close. Marie was Percy and Annabeth’s daughter, and although Will and Nico both felt uneasy with those two, they set it aside for their son. She looked a lot like her mom, her hair was a lot curlier than Elizabeth’s although it was a similar color. She had green eyes and carried her parents’ stubbornness.

Will couldn’t see the future like his siblings could, but he knew that those two would be close for a very long time. It’s part of the reason he didn’t try to distance them from each-other. The other reason being that Marie isn’t her parents, what happened to Michael or Bianca wasn’t her fault nor did she have anything to do it (and although Will and Nico blamed Percy for their deaths, they knew that was easier to accept than to admit that there was no saving them.) so she shouldn’t be held responsible for it— and even if they did, their son would be in the crosshairs of the issue too.

“Here, it’s hot, so blow on it before you eat it.” Nico says, handing his daughter a mini pancake as she detached her hand from her dad’s shirt.

“Your dad and I are gonna get changed while you two eat— please don’t fight while we’re gone.” Nico says, making his way to their bedroom where his husband currently is. Their kids too focused on eating to respond. Instead, they nodded.

Nico entered their bedroom to be met with Will beginning to rummage through their dresser. He shut the door behind him and heard the door click. He wrapped his arms around his now shirtless husband’s back— pressing the side of his face to his freckled shoulders.

“Pretty” Nico began to kiss a few of the freckles. Will laughed and turned around, their foreheads pressing together.

“Hi” Will says, giving Nico a quick kiss. Nico smiled and tucked his head into Will’s neck. “What’s wrong?”

After Tartarus and all that they had gone through, especially since they saw tragedy first hand, they didn’t want to waste time. Will decided that he didn’t want to suffer a job he hated so he became a high-school English teacher. He enjoyed that a lot more than stitching wounds. Nico realized he really liked helping Will in the infirmary, so he became a nurse. He thought about becoming a doctor, but he realized he preferred working in ERs more. They got married shortly after they both graduated, around twenty-two and twenty-three, and eventually had Florence and Elizabeth.

“I got you darlin’, always.” He caressed Nico’s hair, his wedding ring visible through Nico’s dark wavy hair. He smiled as he remembered that this was his husband. His lover. His. He loved that Nico was his, and that he was Nico’s.

“I love you, so much.” Nico sighed while starting to graze his hands over Will’s spine. He practically melted into Will’s embrace.

“I love you too baby.” Will ducked his head and rested his chin on Nico’s shoulder. He sighed contently as he tried to hold him even closer than he already was. On days like this, he just wishes to be as close as he physically can to him. And on days like this, he’s reminded that he’s done it. He’s not thirteen and running an entire infirmary. He’s not sixteen traversing Tartarus. He’s here with his husband. He’s here with his two kids. He’s made it.

Last Book: Just finished reading The Outlaws Scarlett & Browne to my 12 y/o. Definitely recommend if you're into YA/middle school fantasy. We've been reading through ALL of Jonathan Stroud and he's excellent.

Last TV Show: The Mentalist. I started a re-watch on a whim & it's helping me with X-Files plot ideas. Plus I enjoy Simon Baker in his slutty little vest
