On this year, we encourage participation in the form of any fanwork of your choosing. Due to time constraints for many of the habitual participants of the event, we would like to put forward that fanfiction entries this year should be drabbles (between 100 and 1000 words). Nevertheless, each participant is free to create whatever they're inspired to make: you will still be allowed to partake in the event if you break the word count limit.
Due to the time constraints indeed, a proper prompt and poll system was beyond our possibilities this time. That being said, the chosen prompts provide a broad scope of possibilities: you can choose to take any of the prompts associated with the planetary theme assigned for each day, you can work with the planet in question, too: anything is valid within the prompts provided. If you had any particular story or prompt you REALLY wished to explore in Sokkla Saturdays this year? Feel free to find whichever prompt it fits best and build your story around it. Depending on participation levels and interest this year, we may return to the poll format next year.
All this being said, let’s get ready for Sokkla Saturdays!
Please, tag #sokkla saturdays 2024 and/or #sokklasaturdays within the first five tags of your entry. Feel free to message us with links to your entries if we miss them, as some content might not show up even when adequately tagged in Tumblr’s search system. Make sure to tag your entries appropriately if they contain mature content of any nature. We encourage all participants and members of the community to be cordial to others. Please observe this fundamental and critical courtesy so as to create a positive environment for this event.
See you on Sokkla Saturdays!

Sokkla Saturdays - Day 5: Jupiter
Summary:
Azula could have melted through the floor right then. If anyone would have told her a decade ago she would become as good as a puddle when it came to children she would have downright laughed in their faces. Funny how fate twisted that around for her.

Scenes of a Peaceful World: Sokkla Saturdays 2024
Day Seven - Sudden Changes
Rated: M
On FF.net//On AO3
Sokka swallowed dryly, eyes wide. Azula challenged him in numerous ways across their lives, far more than he'd dare count… but she was taking it to a whole new level on that day, and without the faintest awareness of it, too.
"I'm not imagining things, am I? Just look at them!"
Oh, he was looking. He absolutely was looking. Nothing could possibly convince him to tear his eyes off Azula's perfectly exposed chest.
It had started that morning: she had said she felt uncomfortable, and she didn't particularly like the way her clothes had fit her on that day. She asked for his opinion a thousand times, and he reassured her that he found her as breathtaking as ever. In true Azula form, she had disregarded the compliment and obsessed over what was bothering her for most of the day.
Now, the day was out. Night had come. And now he sat at the foot of their bed, his shaft hardening quite effectively as his topless wife squeezed her breasts before his eager eyes, with absolutely no intent of seducing him, yet succeeding at it anyway.
"I swear they weren't this size last night. They weren't yesterday!" Azula huffed: she let go, and they bounced. Sokka suppressed a shiver as best he could… his manhood, however, twitched quite noticeably over the visual stimulation. "I've heard… well, it's obvious, isn't it? Women gain weight over life and that affects all their body parts… maybe my ass is like this too. M-maybe…!"
"Azula, y-you don't have to…!"
She shoved off her bottoms next, rushing to their full body mirror to inspect, wide-eyed, the size of her rear.
"It… doesn't look that big. I think. Not much more than I think it was, anyway," she concluded. "Which makes this… stranger. Doesn't it?"
She glanced at Sokka: his uncomfortable, pleading eyes were accompanied by an awkward smile quickly. Azula sighed, meeting his gaze with uncertainty.
"I'm not saying I'm sick or so, you don't have to worry…"
"You don't look sick to me, but if you do think there's a chance that… w-well, whatever you're feeling isn't normal, you can always ask Katara. Or Song," Sokka said, averting his gaze and closing his eyes: he could say responsible things if he didn't look at her, yes. She didn't need to know her very serious concerns over her body's sudden changes were pushing his basest needs to the forefront. Her peace of mind was the priority here, not that of his dick…
"I don't think it's… abnormal. But I'm not pregnant again, that's for sure," Azula pointed out, hands on her hips, glaring at her chest again. "This isn't the first symptom, I'd have been puking my innards out well before this happened, and I haven't been doing that. So… whatever this is, it isn't pregnancy. I'm certain."
"You've had the tea every day… so it shouldn't be," Sokka said, with a small voice.
"So why?" Azula growled. "Do I need more physical activity? That might really be it. Maybe working out more often would ensure I burn off enough energy and reduce them back to normal…"
"I'm not sure it works like…"
Sokka dared open his eyes again: Azula was cupping one of them again, still with that serious scowl… squeezing, no doubt looking for any anomalies, but finding nothing so far. The urge to offer to look in her stead choked in his throat. This was a cruel, beautiful spectacle, and he was to behave himself and hold back and…
"What do you think, though?" Azula asked, glancing at him. Sokka stiffened. "Are they… different? Bigger?"
Sokka swallowed dryly again: he needed so much water. That the woman he had been sleeping with for as good as twenty years would still produce this effect in him might be something to be grateful for, but right now, he wished he could blind himself to her sex appeal if that would make him a better husband…
"I… don't know for sure," Sokka said, slowly. "But they… look… fuck, they look amazing."
Azula froze. Sokka grimaced, burying his face in his hands.
"I'm sorry but you're driving me crazy here. They're… perfect. Always were. But if they're bigger right now, t-then that just means more perfection, and seeing you touch them like that and show them to me, I…! I'm just a man, Azula. Just a shameful, stupid, perverted man who's looking at perfection and blinded by it… more than I would be by the sun, surely, and… oh, this is too much. Have mercy on me, woman…"
Azula watched him for a moment, eyebrows raised. Sokka didn't dare look at her again, cheeks lit up with his fluster, waiting for her judgment to strike him down.
She stepped closer to him. Wearing nothing but her panties, she should have been anything but intimidating… but this was Azula. There was no chance a woman like her could stop being intimidating.
"The only bright side in all this… was the hope that you'd be pleased with the changes, if there were any."
Sokka tensed up. He jerked his head up, out of his hands, to find Azula towering over him, still with that unreadable expression across her golden eyes.
"W-well…" Sokka chortled. Azula smirked.
"Didn't know you'd be that affected by seeing me hold my own breasts, though. You do realize you're not the only person allowed to touch them?"
"I do, and… I just… didn't expect it to affect me this much either," Sokka said, eyeing her with uncertainty. "But you know you're hot as hell, Azula… and no, don't start, I'm not saying it because of your firebending, alright? Which, yes, is hot too, but still…!"
"If my husband still thinks so highly of me in my forties, why… I really should be grateful for it," Azula smiled. Sokka bit his lip and smiled a little too. "Not missing the old days when we were younger and more energetic, are you?"
"I feel quite energetic right now, I can tell you that much," Sokka admitted. Azula laughed.
"Who'd have thought that sudden changes would wind up proving that, in the end, you and I somehow just… stay the same?" she said, cupping his cheek and raising his head so she could lean over to kiss him.
Sokka responded gladly, letting Azula push him down over their bed: his hands couldn't help but move to her waist, caressing her ribcage, stroking her skin circularly with his thumbs…
But then her lips left his. Her body shifted further, and she smirked playfully at him as she held herself above him: her breasts dangled teasingly right over his wide, hungry eyes.
"I think… I need a more thorough second opinion, if you'd be so kind?" she teased him. Sokka's perverted smile brought a delighted blush to her face. "Now, please be gentle, they might just be more sensitive too…"
"I'll be… I'll be good. Just… get over here."
Azula burst out laughing once he pulled her down over him: he as good as smothered himself in the valley of her breasts, groaning with bliss and relief, his face squeezed between both mounds.
"Not the most orthodox testing method, mind you…" Azula chuckled, hugging him to her chest as they rolled on the mattress.
"Okay, okay. I'll be… professional now," Sokka teased her, hands rising to cup each of them: his wicked smirk already told her exactly what he meant to do…
And the truth was, she was ready for it, entirely.
She had spent most of the day feeling foolishly uncertain of herself. Sokka had never rejected those sorts of changes during pregnancy, but it was rather odd for it to happen without one along the way. Part of her dreaded that she could be imagining growth where there might just be sagging, instead… was she that old already? Was this around the point in life where such a thing would start happening to her?
It would happen eventually, she knew… but with Sokka eagerly devouring her nipples, testing her chest in a most inappropriate yet still quite helpful manner, she allowed herself to believe that, as the reach of old age did start to take its toll on them, the reckless, loving man atop her would never fail to see beauty where she might see flaws, just as he always had. She knew she'd be no better, no different, pertaining him and his own body's changes, should he go through any…
He'd said it many times: marriage was indeed a matter of spending their lives together, of basking in every spark of joy their bond would bring. Every smidge of affection her lover had offered her since the moment they'd started their relationship continued to nourish her, just as it did now… and she hugged him tightly, willfully giving herself to him, heart lightened by the love they shared, a love she had long known not to second-guess… for as many sudden changes as they might face, Sokka always found a way to surprise her even more wonderfully than life ever would.

Prompt Voting for Sokkla Saturdays 2023 begins NOW!
Choose your EIGHT favorite prompts within the list and get ready for the official prompt announcement on August 31st!
To clarify the restriction to eight prompts: on this year's edition of Sokkla Saturdays, there will be eight pre-selected broader thematic prompts chosen by the organizing team. This choice is intended to allow further flexibility in the prompt selection process, as opposed to the previous years. Many highly specific and unique prompts in the past have not received any entries based on their concepts since they did not allow enough room for interpretation and creativity. Therefore, on this year we will only choose 8 prompts in the poll, as there are only 8 Saturdays between October and November in 2023, as opposed to the 9 weeks the event has lasted in previous years.
Alright, jump right in and begin voting before August 31st!
Note: Regarding the prompt suggestion process this time around... please read below the cut:
This event has always been a lot freer than many events in other fandoms or communities. Plenty of events don't even hold open prompt selection processes, the leadership holding the event takes care of choosing every prompt instead. We never wanted to do this with Sokkla Saturdays, but unfortunately, this year's situation has called for more restrictive measures on our part than ever before.
We have a grand total of 90 available prompts to vote for in the poll. As it happens, there were 147 prompts on the document where everyone was welcome to share their ideas for this event.
Whether out of malice or ignorance, it appears that one or two individuals took the open call for prompts as an invitation to add 57 prompts that, upon close inspection, were deemed completely inappropriate to feature in this event. The prompts remain on the document, in case anyone still wishes to see them and confirm their nature. Whether it was a matter of trolling, or of antis attempting to sabotage the event, the organizing team discussed the situation and agreed that these 57 prompts did not represent the kind of community and content we want Sokkla Saturdays to provide.
To make matters clear: NSFW content is allowed in this event, as always has been the case. But this event is also open to all audiences. NSFW content is meant to be OPTIONAL. A large number of the prompts that were eliminated demanded for NSFW content that versed along topics that were frankly alarming and disturbing. Some that weren't disturbing due to NSFW components were still alarming due to the ideas that were being proposed in them, ideas that seemed to have been suggested in ill faith by a foul player to create controversy or sow conflict within the community. There's also the possibility that these prompts were suggested in an immature manner as well, rather than out of mere malice: whatever the case may be, they will not be options available to vote for in the poll linked above.
In regards of NSFW prompts: prompts such as 'intimacy', or 'steam', are deemed appropriate due to the flexibility they provide in terms of possibilities for participants of this event to explore. You could very well write a story about NSFW topics, just as you could write a story about emotional intimacy, or about a steam engine. It's nowhere near as forceful as the numerous, highly inappropriate NSFW-themed prompts that we received this year.
It's worth noting that we do have NSFW-themed prompts within the options of the poll: namely, the ones that did not raise red flags pertaining the nature of what was being proposed, or regarding the potential ill intent with which they were suggested.
But considering this unprecedented, apparent sabotage or simple misuse of the prompt suggestion document, our next Sokkla Saturdays may see the prompt screening becoming much tighter and far more thorough than it was this time, and than it has been over the last years.
Prompts for events are not meant to be a way to coax the entire fandom to write your favorite kinks, or a specific kind of fic that is primarily meant for your personal enjoyment. Prompts are about jogging and triggering creativity in participants, they are meant to be ideas, concepts that bring plot bunnies to mind. Fully writing out a potential story's concept or summary is not a prompt either. While some of the suggestions that worked that way were kept in the poll, that won't be the case next time.
We want to make it clear from this point forward that, in the next iteration of Sokkla Saturdays, prompt selection will be much more strict to avoid any manner of misuse in the prompt suggestion stage, whether caused by those targeting the community for the sake of harming it, by those who find amusement in making the organizing team do extra work to weed out troublemakers, or by those who don't truly understand the nature of fandom events due to being too new to this kind of community. The organizing team has suspicions pertaining the identity of the primary responsible party behind the unacceptable prompts: if confirmed, this individual's participation will be excluded from all Sokkla Saturdays, going forward.
If there are any other questions regarding the exclusion of those 57 prompts, feel free to ask them. For now, vote away and look forward to our next iteration of Sokkla Saturdays!

Northern Skies & Airport Lights
For the winter prompt of @sokklasaturdays
Summary: Azula and Sokka meet at an airport after their flights get delayed due to winter weather.
Azula watches plane after plane take off through the lightly frosted window. None of them are hers. She groans. Three hours and counting. Three hours and counting when she should have already boarded and been well on her way. Instead she is here with her carry on bags leaning against her chair eating a cup over overpriced, albeit decently tasty, airport yogurt.
She had plans for the day, a trip to Äkäslompolo Lake and a taste of what it entails; mostly the sauna and a daring dip into one of the ice holes. She has never gone ice swimming, and never wanted to. Not until TyLee had talked her into it. Frankly she had planned on going somewhere warm, somewhere like Dubai or Maui or maybe Toamasina. Some random lake in the Finnish Laplands was not on her list. But TyLee had begged and begged until Azula had caved. And now, several hours into her canceled flight catastrophe, she is desperate to get to Finland.
The prospect is exciting, an adventure ready to be taken.
She finds herself mourning the missed opportunities. One look at the clock tells her that she won’t be getting to Rovaniemi with enough time to make the four hour drive to Äkäslompolo. Be it via bus or a rented vehicle, odds are she will only have enough time to unpack and then attempt to sleep in spite of the day’s stressors.
And that’s if she is able to get there at all. All signs are pointing at a night in this airport in Kazakhstan.
She should have just went at the same time as TyLee and Mai but she just had to stay back a day and get ahead on her term paper. Not that she really needed to, she could hammer that out with no problem, she just didn’t want to have to worry about that while she was supposed to be enjoying her winter break.
She sighs and leans her head back, staring at the steady fluorescent lights. Her phone buzzes in her pocket, probably TyLee asking for her hourly update. She fishes around her pocket and finds the phone. Two messages flash across the screen; ‘Did they get you a new flight yet?’ From Tylee. And one from Zuko, ‘I told you to come with us but nOooOoo, you had to get a head start on your head start first.’
She rolls her eyes. And informs TyLee that all flights are still suspended until the weather clears. And so she is stranded here listening to crying babies and griping middle aged women that she has half the mind to join in their mission to get compensation from the airlines.
Instead she gives TyLee her update and fishes around her carry on bag for one of several novels. Zuko can make what he will of her silence. But it is terribly hard to read with that woman with the bob screeching about how, “it’s ChristMAS! How can you keep all of us stranded here on Christmas!?” Nevermind that it is only the 17th of December. The woman is lucky that she gets that gaudy, flashy Christmas tree in the corner.
She hears the thump of buttcheeks on the seat next to her and suppresses a groan—there are at least twenty other seats that this dolt could occupy and he has decided to place his buttocks here. She should have just put her bags on that seat. She has her sense of politeness to blame.
The young man waves. He looks to be about her age with a scruffy little goatee and a floppy dark blue beanie. Baggy gray pants and a baggier blue hoodie complete an extremely leisurely, comfortable look. One that leaves her jealous considering that she will be spending the night in her somewhat tight dress pants and her red and ruffled satin blouse. She can take her belt and some of the jewelry off and let her hair down but that still wouldn’t be nearly as relaxing as what he is wearing. “Hey so, you were on the delayed flight too?”
It is a stupid question. Everyone waiting in this lobby was on one of the many flights that couldn’t take off. “I was, yes. I would probably be in Finland now if not for this emergency weather related stop.”
“Where are you coming from?”
“Japan.” She answers plainly before specifying, “Kyoto.”
“That’s a long flight. Like ten hours right? There would have been a layover anyways.”
She has to admire his flippant, nonchalance. “Yes, but there wouldn’t have been a wait as long as this.” Azula replies stiffly. “I am going to miss my day trip to Äkäslompolo Lake.” She folds her arms across her chest. “My stupid brother is probably having the time of his life in the sauna right now…”
The man nods. “I’m coming from Deering, Alaska so I’m kinda used to this whole blizzard thing.” He rubs the back of his head. “I was supposed to be heading to Finland as well but there was some type of computer error and the wrong flight was booked. Suddenly I’m on my way to Laos.”
“Laos! That’s not even close to Finland. That is exactly incorrect. Are you certain that it was a computer error and not a moron wasn’t paying attention to what he was clicking error?”
He rubs the back of his head again and gives her a sheepish smile as his cheeks grow pink. “Yeah, it could have been that. My mom or sister usually book the flights.” He laughs but there is a flicker of hurt in his eyes that leads Azula to speculate that there might be some story there. “Imagine my surprise when the pilot announced our destination. I’m kind of glad that we made this stop. I was able to book the right flight this time around.”
She should just let the conversation conclude right here but some deeper part of her hopes that conversing with this stranger might take the edge out of her agitation. She clears her throat. “So…what part of Finland are you heading to?”
“I’m meeting my dad and sister in Rovaniemi to celebrate what would have been my mom’s 49th birthday. We lost her two years ago. She was fighting lupus and there were some complications at her last hospital stay.” He swallows. “Sorry, that’s a little dark to just unload on a stranger.”
Azula shrugs, “when I was fourteen they put me in an institution. My family was a disaster.”
“Was? Hopefully that means that things are better now?”
“They’re trying to be.”
He nods.
“Why aren’t you with your father and sister?”
“I’ve been away at college so I didn’t go with my dad and sister when they went to Canada to visit my Gran Gran—I’ll have to pay her a visit too, spring break probably—so I’m meeting them in Finland and then we’re all going to fly back home together.”
“If you booked the right flight, you will.” Azula quirks a brow. To her surprise, the man meets her dry humor with a somewhat booming laugh. “You’re not going to get offended?”
“It was just a joke.” His smile doesn’t fade. “It was a joke right? You’re laughing with me not at me?”
“I could be. Or maybe I’m just a mean person.”
“Hmm, I don’t think so. I like you.”
“You just met me.”
“I make friends easily.” He shrugs. “I mean we’re traveling to the same destination and we’ll be sitting next to each other on the new flight.” She follows his eyes to the new plane ticket that she had forgotten to slip back into her pocket. “That has to be a sign of something, right?”
“Except that you live in Alaska and I live in Kyoto. That’s not exactly within walking distance.”
“We have phones, the internet, video chat!” He declares. “And if you’re old fashioned you can send me a letter.”
“I suppose that, that can be arranged.” She opens her mouth to speak again but finds herself cut off.
“Excuse me.” He begins. “As an apology for the inconvenience of the delay, the airport is offering a free meal to all of our stranded passengers. We are offering beshbarmak, syrne, sopra, and koktal.”
“I will have the syrne, thank you.” Azula replies.
“I don’t know what any of that is.” the young man confesses. Azula listens to the other man summarize each dish.
“Hmm I think that I’ll try some beshbarmak.”
The other man jots the order down. “Your order numbers are 32 and 33. We will have them ready shortly.”
“My name is Sokka by the way.” He introduces himself and holds out his hand.
Somewhat hesitantly, she takes it. “Azula.
He grins. “It’s nice to meet you, Azula!”
She nods. If nothing else, she supposes that she might get a friend out of this. She could use more friends. She supposes that she wouldn’t mind making semi-regular trips to Alaska every now and again if the two of them have a particularly remarkable time together in what little of it that they have. “What hotel are you staying at? Perhaps if you are nice to me I can get you and your family a reservation for one of those glass igloos.”
Sokka’s face brightens, “for real!?”
Azula nods. “But you have to impress me. You have a few hours to do so.”
“My family is going to be staying in a little cabin but it would be nice to stay at one of those igloos for at least one night.” He muses to himself. “Alright, deal! You’re going to have the best trapped-at-an-airport of your life.”
“I hope that this will be my only ‘trapped-at-an-airport.’” She rolls her eyes. But she can’t say that she is completely miserable anymore. There’s something about this Sokka. He’s got a good sense of humor and a way of making her goal of being less cynical seem possible to achieve.

By Your Side: Sokkla Saturdays 2023
Day 4: Winter
AO3 & FF.Net
Lovers liked asking questions they knew the answers to. Only to hear their loved one say it out loud.
Continuation of last week
Another Sokkla Saturdays is coming to an end. This year things turned out slightly different for me, but as every year, I enjoyed taking part! Thanks @sokklasaturdays for holding this event! Already looking forward for next year!=)
All day wanted was for this moment to last forever. Enjoy the warm embrace longer. However, luck wasn’t on their side which was to be expected. When Katara went into Sokka’s room, alarmed, Azula had an idea of what happened.
“Prince Zuko and Prince Lu Ten are here!” Katara said.
“What does he want?” asked Sokka rubbing his eyes.
His question caused both girls to look at him unbelievably.
“Oh, yeah…” he said.
Sokka took Azula’s hand.
“No matter what happens, I will always be with you Azula. No one can force you to anything.”
They walked out to see Zuko and Lu Ten in the living room.
Lu Ten gave his cousin a meaningful stare but smiled.
“Maybe we should leave brother and sister alone.” Kya said.
Sokka held Azula’s gaze  while walking out. She gave him a nod and only then he left the igloo.
Once everyone was out Zuko talked.
“Being reckless doesn’t suit you Azula.”
Azula folded her arms narrowing her eyes.
“Says the Prince who keeps pulling reckless stunts for Mai.”
Zuko raised an eyebrow. Did his sister really admit that she felt as strongly towards Sokka as he felt for Mai, his wife? He knew about Azula’s feelings but hearing her indirectly admitting it was another level.
“I will cut this short: I support you.” Zuko said.
“You?” Azula asked skeptical.
“Yes” he replied, “Do I never?”
“Yeah, sometimes you do.” she said.
“Chief Hakoda, Uncle Iroh and Lu Ten are all by your side. Father was forced to come to Kyoshi Island.” Zuko said.
“Wait! Support what exactly?” Azula asked.
“You are marrying Sokka.” Zuko said.
“What…” Before she could continue her sentence, Sokka ran into the igloo.
“Azula! Did you hear that?” he gave her a powerful hug and swirled her around, “Father told me we can finally marry.”
Azula was confused, happy, excited, and scared at the same time. She looked at her brother and he smiled.
...................................
Fire Lord Iroh made efforts to convince his stubborn brother to put an end to bad blood with the Water Tribe and finally aligned. Hakoda was ready for it. Everyone else was except for Ozai. He went mad in the Fire Nation first. Yet it was worth it in the end. After a long discussion, Ozai halfheartedly agreed. Ursa tried to calm him down so Azula wouldn’t see his anger once they met.
Azula entered his room on Kyoshi Island along with Sokka. Ozai looked disgusted at his soon to be son-in-law, already disliking him. All these years they never got along well.
“Out with you. I will speak to my daughter alone.” He said harshly.
Again, Sokka looked at Azula first and left the room once she assured him she would be fine with her eyes- He made sure to graze his knuckles at Her’s while walking out.
Despite it all, the talk between father and daughter went well. Ozai said, she could marry Sokka, but he wouldn’t truly see him as his son. That was enough for Azula. As long as she wouldn’t have to choose between her family and the man she loved, all would be fine.
Before another fight could escalate, Azula and Sokka told their families, they would marry on Whale tail Island. It was a beautiful place without habitants. And it was near to Kyoshi Island, where they all stayed during meetings. They would mix both nations traditions.
.............................
A dream was coming true. Evening arrived, candles were lit. Whale tail Island was about to witness the most beautiful day, the reunion between two lovers.
Azula and Sokka deserved it. Years of struggle and heartache was finally coming to an end.
Their respective families were already there. Close friends were arriving one by one. Uncle Iroh was the only royal missing from Azula’s family. Since he was Fire Lord, he couldn’t just sail half of the world. He made sure to send the pair a luxury gift with congratulations letter.
Admiral Zhao arrived, his distaste towards Sokka clear in his eyes.
“Congratulations Azula. You certainly could have done better. But we will support our Princess anyway.”
Sokka scowled at the comment.
“You are right Admiral.” Azula replied smirking sideways at Sokka.
“What the?!” Sokka squeaked.
Zhao chuckled and walked to take a seat.
“Azulaaaaa!” Sokka said.
“What? He is right. I could do better.” she said, acting innocent.
Sokka stopped and thought about it.
“Yeah, you truly could.” he said looking down sadly.
Azula laughed and hugged him, giving a kiss to his cheek.
“I love you Sokka. You are perfect for me dummy.” she said.
Sokka already lightened up when she kissed him, smiling and looking at her.
“I love you, you are the one who is perfect Azula.” he said giving her a peck. “Even if you like messing with me.
Many of their family members congratulated and hugged them. Lu Ten gazed at his cousin. Katara gave them both a short speech with teary eyes.
Mai and Ty Lee arrived too. Zuko never left his wife’s side. Ever so careful. Azula’s eyes went to Mai’s visible bump.
After a hugging session Azula asked how Mai was feeling.
“I’m faring well. Can’t wait for the baby to arrive.” She said with a smile.
All of them smiled. Mai suddenly smirked her eyes set on Azula and Sokka.
“Well, seems like Azula will grow a baby bump too soon.”
Zuko gasped and looked unpleasant.
Azula was slightly taken a back and Ty Lee clapped.
“Well, well!” Sokka was smirking too, side eyeing his soon to be wife.
Azula blushed and Sokka chuckled.
“You two deserve happiness. Finally, all of us can have a peaceful rest not that you guys are marrying.” Mai told them earnestly. Which made Zuko smile fondly too.
Soon the ceremony began, and they finally married. Clapping and laughter filled the island.
The first dance was romantic only for Azula and Sokka.
Soon Hakoda danced happily with his wife. Ursa urged her husband to dance too, but the prominent scowl on Ozai’s face while he watched his precious daughter dancing with her husband couldn’t make her enjoy the dance fully. Yet she still smiled hugging her husband.
Although Sokka’s eyes never left Azula, he saw a sight that made him wince. His sister was dancing with Aang.
It didn’t last long, and he was gazing at his Azula again. Her arms around his neck, his firmly on her back, foreheads touching they danced away as a married couple…

Sokkla Saturdays - Day 6: Saturn
Summary:
"You. Wait.”
Sokka froze on the spot. The past few days had been nothing but a string of close calls upon close calls yet none of it prepared him for this. The last thing he needed while trying to execute this escape plan was dealing with Princess Azula but here they were.
Just his luck.

Scenes of a Peaceful World: Sokkla Saturdays 2024
Day One - Travel
Rated: G
On FF.net//On AO3
A flock of dragons crossing the sky had yet to become something common, or normal, across their world. But it even more uncommon to glimpse a group of magnificent creatures carrying the members of a human family on their backs, as they traveled through the sky…
The populace of cities and towns below them gazed in amazed wonderment. The occasional cheers and cries of admiration reached their ears: Sokka snickered as he leaned back over Xin Long’s saddle, watching the townsfolk scurrying about, children rushing to give chase to the shadows that their dragons projected across their world.
“We always do make an impression,” he smiled, hands reaching over to clasp his wife’s waist: as it ever was, he would ride Xin Long behind Azula, who smiled at him over her shoulder.
“And we shouldn’t make that much of one. No groping when we’re in plain sight of the masses,” she said: Xin Long, below her, huffed in agreement. Sokka laughed, shaking his head dismissively at her words.
“Do tell, love: what’s the point of being as admirable, powerful and independent as we are if it’s not to make the most of all those things… by being as inappropriate as we please?”
He squeezed her flanks, and Azula squirmed.
The consequences for his teasing made themselves known when Xin Long spun on himself, startling his riders by making the world upside down for them briefly before spinning to fly upright again.
“X-Xin! No need for that…!” Sokka squeaked. “I was just teasing!”
“Well… maybe tease me when we’re on land next time,” Azula suggested, with an awkward smile: Sokka pouted as he leaned forward, dropping his chin on her shoulder. Meanwhile, Xin Long chuckled wickedly. “And you… you have an example to set, Xin! No crazy flying maneuvers, understood? If your siblings dare do anything like this, I…!”
Oh, she refused to finish that thought: she’d probably jump off Xin Long’s saddle without a second thought to snatch Yuuna, Shun or Hotaru in midair, should any of them fall off their saddles.
But it seemed unlikely to happen, at least, so far: where Xin Long often joined in the banter and bickering of his riders, the kids got along wonderfully with their dragons… even Yuuna, who, in virtue of being a waterbender, couldn’t fully bond with hers through the ancient ritual where firebenders offered their flames to a dragon, linking them for life if said offer was accepted.
Yuuna’s dragon, Yachi, was pale blue, matching the girl’s preferred colors neatly. Their communication proved surprisingly effective even if they lacked the bond that her brother and sister did develop with their respective creatures: Shun’s dragon, Zhan, had auburn scales instead, whereas Hotaru rode the biggest of all the younger dragons: a yellow creature she had named Taiyang.
Technically, the three dragons’ names also ended in ‘Long’, much like Xin Long’s did, by Azula’s demand and design. Sokka had poked fun at her for it, but she had been as unyielding about the naming this time as when they had first found her own draconic companion. The kids had no problem following her rule, though they usually called their dragons by their first names, regardless.
This was their first long flight with the creatures – they wouldn’t travel too far today, aiming towards visiting a memorable location of Sokka and Azula’s past – and they had behaved surprisingly well thus far. The dragons, while smaller than Xin Long, carried the weight of all kids without much struggle, with Shun even daring do some light pirouettes in the air with his own partner. The laughter of the three children reached their parents, who flew last to keep tabs on all kids.
“I love this,” Sokka smiled, his head still resting on Azula’s shoulder. His hands slid over her abdomen, but Xin Long didn’t tease them about their closeness this time. “We promised this one we’d find more dragons… and we did. Didn’t expect so many would want to bond with our kids, though…”
“And why wouldn’t they?” Azula smiled. “We’re part of this dragon family as well. Their leader thus decreed it, long ago.”
“Heh. How’s the old boss doing, Xin?” Sokka asked, patting Xin’s side. Even nowadays, Azula had to translate some of Xin Long’s thoughts to Sokka, and she did so quickly.
“Seems he’s been on a rather reckless run of late… trying to see how fast he can cross the Earth Kingdom,” Azula smiled. “So far his record is… three days? Well, damn…”
“You’ll beat him at it someday,” Sokka smirked. Xin Long huffed proudly and nodded.
“But for now… he babysits his siblings,” Azula smiled, gazing upon the three smaller dragons fondly.
“And… he gets ready to eat tons and tons of spicy ramen. That, too.”
Azula laughed and nodded. Xin Long shivered in unrestrained joy, eager to take part in a unique challenge no dragon before him had ever confronted… the legendary Spicy Ramen Challenge that his own rider had failed to overcome once. Both Azula and Sokka intended to hold their rematch against Jiare’s spicy cooking, as well as with each other, on this trip.
“I won’t falter at it, myself,” Azula warned her husband. He smirked. “Didn’t eat breakfast in preparation, as you know…”
“I wonder if that’s going to be enough… whereas I? I’ve been building up my spice resistance like never before!” Sokka said, eyes aglow with excitement.
“Now, the only problem will be convincing our kids that they can’t join too,” Azula laughed. “But I suppose this can become a family tradition for us. A rite of passage. Once you’re old enough… you take up the Spicy Ramen Challenge.”
“Honestly? The best Fire Nation tradition I’ve ever heard of,” Sokka smirked. Azula laughed, turning her head to kiss him softly.
Four dragons, ridden by a human family, flew across the sky on that day, a rare sight that, in time, would become far more common throughout their world.
