headcanons for an au in which the entire gaang mentally time travels back to the past?
woe! you went through a character arc but now you're right back in your pre-character arc body. and by woe, I mean woe for zuko specifically. get ponytailed, stupid. he's cutting that off and growing his hair back out the first chance he gets.
actually you know what would be really funny? they don't even return to the same point in time. zuko gets yeeted back into his past self's body first, right at the north pole only to find that his friends don't remember him at all. which uh. sucks. and is also extremely awkward- so he just decides to ask them if the avatar is there, and when they say no, he just leaves because he has no idea what else he's supposed to do.
aang gets his memories back after going into the avatar state at the southern air temple and abruptly realizes that zuko must have gotten his back too. now he has to convince his friends that they need to go find him. you know. the guy who showed up at their village and asked to find the avatar? that guy. yeah he's our friend I promise for real.
suki gets her memories back right before meeting the gaang again on kyoshi island and just rolls her eyes at pre-character development sokka. oh my god. also they don't have to find zuko because he's slipped away from his uncle and is chilling on kyoshi island, waiting for them. they have to show up at some point, right?
katara and sokka don't get their memories back until the north pole. which means they have to deal with aang, zuko and suki acting like they're besties the entire trip there and are only told that they're all time travelers, actually.
(meanwhile, toph is getting very impatient. she's NOT going to the north pole of all places to find her friends, but she doesn't want to miss them so she just stays put. but could they maybe HURRY UP?)

I feel like Zuko chilling out at Kyoshi would consist of him attempting to do some sort of penance for setting the village on fire last time by trying to do things like fix roofs like he did for Lee's family in the Earth Kingdom. Except he hasn't gotten any better at it and possibly ends up making the house he's trying to fix worse. Cue another "why am I so bad at being good?!" min-rant before he asks Suki to just, like, tie him up for a while (like what happened to the Gaang when they arrived before they found out Aang was the avatar) so he can do penance that way.
She leaves him like that for a few hours, then "breaks him out of jail" the same way he did for her.
And then he probably spends the rest of the time legitimately chilling and showing the warriors common firebending techniques that Fire Nation soldiers typically use so they can get in some extra practice.
