anyone else extremely conflicted about theorizing how powerful the white lotus was?

bc on one hand, i love the idea of the OotWL being extremely powerful and far-reaching but on the other, i know that secret-omnipresent-society conspiracies are based in antisemitism

#ive been reading the atla wikia so i know that they arent secret anymore after the war and mainly guard korra while shes training #but how powerful were they during the war? their mission is balance and protecting the avatar so with aang gone and the world at war....#i wish we knew when iroh joined the white lotus bc if it was before ozai took power then they wouldve had control of the entire fire nation #theres conflicting stories about iroh bc he says that he was a different man during his seige of ba sing se implying he joined after #but zuko says that his uncle killed the last dragon ages ago but lying about the dragons to maintain balance is a very OotWL thing to do #but lu ten and the seige of ba sing se only happened like 5–10yrs before canon which doesnt line up with how zuko say when iroh slayed them #and i always got the feeling that iroh was already called ‘the dragon of the west’ during his time as a general #and we see in one of zuko’s flashbacks that iroh seemed to genuinely believe in the cause which again doesnt line up w being a white lotus #i’d love to hear from any jewish people who may see this about how you feel about it if you have an opinion #im also not expecting anyone to reach out its just been stewing around in my head for like a month and wanted to put it down in words #& maybe get some feedback (not that any one voice could speak for all jewish people but itd be good to know a few jewish perspectives on it)#* ‘not expecting’ as in i dont want anyone to feel obligated to talk about ur experiences‚ not as in disparaging u for not talking to me #you dont care #uncle iroh #sokka #anyway *points at url* sokka joins the white lotus piandao giving him the pai sho tile was designating him as a potental initiate #sokka can be part of the white lotus w/o making any further speculation on the order’s global influence than whats canon in the show
