"We believe that when you create a machine to do the work of a man, you take something away from the man." Sojef, Star Trek: Insurrection (1998) This is also how I feel about A.I.

The Interview
By all accounts, the Ba’ku planet was an idyllic paradise. Untouched by technology, pollution, or war, save the violence which had exposed them to the galaxy again and re-united them with the Son’a, their long-exiled children. The Ba’ku numbered around only a thousand, and lived a largely agrarian, pre-industrial lifestyle. That in and of itself was a recipe for peace, but the fact that they lived several times the normal human lifespan thanks to the regenerative powers of the rings surrounding their planetoid created a place where the residents languished and enjoyed all the time in the world. Lieutenant Aster found the planet to be calming, even as the people seemed tense. Sojef, in particular, seemed the most openly annoyed at their presence. “Sir, I understand  your concerns, but with your cooperation, we should be able to keep our time down here to a minimum. I just need to ask you a few questions, speak with the others, we won’t be interfering in any way.” “You’re interfering by being here. Picard told us that Starfleet would be leaving us alone, and now here you are, a few years later, demanding to stomp around and explore.” “Sir, we’re not demanding to stomp around. We’re here investigating some suspicious reports. Should those reports be unfounded, we’ll be leaving immediately. All of us.” That seemed to settle Sojef down a bit, although he still looked aggrieved. “Now, I need to know, has anyone in the village been acting...strange? Wandering away for long periods of time, not seeming to be themselves anymore? Has anyone...new...come to the village recently?” “No. No one. We’d be the first to notice someone new, and after what happened last time, we’d be sending them away immediately.” “Have you had any recent deaths?” “...One of the Son’a who came back. Garel. It was too late for him. We did all we could, but he’d been away too long, the damage to his body too severe. We buried him in the hills east of here, overlooking the lake.” “Did that seem unusual?” “Not really, no. Honestly I’m amazed what few of the Son’a who returned have done as well as they have. They did a lot of damage to themselves just…” “Thank you, sir. If I have any more questions, I’ll come to you first.” “See that you do.” Aster walked away from Sojef. The rest of the security team was milling around the main square, conducting what limited scans Sojef had agreed to. In between glances at their tricorders, they were in awe of the art, “the work of students” a woman had said. Picards report echoed their incredulity. If the blanket before them was the work of a novice, then one made by a master could only be an object of impossible magic. The scientist within them disregarded this notion, but there’s something about magic that every human believes in. “Aster to the Bataan.” “Bataan here, go ahead, sir.” “Sojef has agreed to let us question the villagers and conduct some scans of the area, but he’s not willing to allow us to land more people down here until he can be certain we’re not going to occupy the place. Please let Captain Rodgers know we’ll be here for at least another 4 hours.” “Acknowledged.” High above the Lieutenant, in low orbit, the Bataan was training its vast array of sensors at the planet. While not suited to a geologic or seismic survey, they were expertly tuned to seek out cloaking devices, dampening fields, and any other of a hundred methods that a Founder might use to conceal themselves somewhere on the planet. Even as Aster had beamed down, they had launched 4 Talon-class runabouts, packed with sensor modules that, while not as powerful as those aboard the Bataan, would still help to cover any gaps or seek out anything that didn’t quite mesh with the expected results. In the Combat Information Center, located just below the main Bridge, Captain Rodgers surveyed the incoming sensor results. “Nothing, nothing...and nothing. Still nothing. Who knows, maybe they used the same trick Picard did, hiding in the caves, only coming out for short durations. Maybe they’re not here at all.” Across from him, Commander Metcalf seemed unconvinced. “We didn’t come all this way just to give up because the first scans showed us what we expected, Lou. I’d like to start sending down teams, outside of the normal range of the Baku. Keep our teams at least a half-a-days walk from the village, keep one eye on the village to make sure no one wanders off, they’ll never know our teams were there. Its a big planetoid, sir, we could land our entire crew on the other side of the continent and they’d never know.” “Jimmy, I hear ya, but I don’t want to start landing troops on this planet until we have some idea of where to look. For all we know, the Founder could use that, if they’ve blended in with the Baku. The last thing we need is a Founder convincing the Baku we’re an invading army running roughshod over their rights.” “I get that, but what are the odds they’d ever even notice?” “Its too great a risk this early, Mike. Picard negotiated a pretty ironclad agreement, and the Council wants to abide by it. No superfluous personnel, no long-term deployment. Our people get 25 hours on the ground and thats it. After that, we have to have a good reason. So, we’ve got 21 hours to find some clues, if the changeling is even here, and prove to Sojef that there’s a danger.” “And if the changeling isn’t found?” “Then we’ll figure it out from there.”
