Happy new year! Today is Shizu's 14th anniversary as an UTAU, so to celebrate, here's some new art.
#sod's art#utau#sogone shizu#original character#shizu sogone#I still can't draw long hair very well lol#but it's been a solid like....6-7 years since the last official art so she was due for an upgrade#what i'm uploading here is a relatively small size#i'll include the full size versions on soaringutau.wordpress.com eventually#the coat closed is still a very in-use design but i wanted to try drawing it open too#also here's a new design with pants 'cause she was due for that too#i'm scheduling this from right before US thanksgiving so i guess if I can fix the hair i'll just replace it stealthily haha...#anyway this is a bit of an 'oh well close enough' situation 'cause i'm not quiiiite happy with the pose#but poses tend to be my struggle anyway...

Happy utau cv fest 2023! In an attempt to try to re-create Shizu’s core CV bank minus the mic pops, I made 3 new CV banks, but none of which quiiiite get the right tone I was going for. I made a quick cover of sasakure.UK’s Tondemo Wonderz using them, plus Shizu’s core CV bank and Aroku’s Loaf bank. For the heck of it, I’ve released these three banks, which can be found at https://soaringutau.wordpress.com/shizu-sogone/

#utau#sogone shizu#utaucontent#it started off as a redraw but i wound up changing a lot haha#plus the character design has changed over the years so i just drew the most recent version#didn't spend too long on this but i'm happy with the result even though there are a couple things i'm seeing i should really fix;;;#artists on tumblr#original character#anyway i have no idea what came over me i'm not usually this good wtf#but i hope to be able to match this style regularly at some point#fun fact the lighting is done entirely after shading (aside from highlights)#like i shaded the entire thing and then did the lighting on top in a temperature layer#it started becuase i wasn't happy with how the hair shading was turning out and i wanted to cover it up somehow and this worked somehow
