Doesn't seem to be working on the weekend days. I'm not sure if this has to do with the most recent update, either. I didn't see anything when I googled but I might be searching wrong.

In this thread Creaky2005 says the trick is to to send the invitations 6 to 12 hours early but set the party for late evening. If this was a known glitch one would think there would be a lot more results to be found from Googling the issue, but as you say there is not much to be found at all.This guide could be beneficial if you suspect the problem may be caused by mods or cc.

sims 3, twallan's woohoo and story progression/master controller, only clothing/makeup/hair cc--I can't invite children to my party no matter what time of the day, I've tried all hours and it says "Time is too early for children to attend" Is it a setting on one of the mods i'm overlooking?

Have you tried to throw a party on a Saturday or Sunday? Try that first :)
