i cant stop thinking about crookedstar’s promise and how it introduced so many characters. but for some reason im more attached to the riverclan background characters than i am the shadowclan ones or thunderclan ones that are in yellowfangs secret/bluestars prophecy

Chapter 165 is out!

and its surprisingly fluffy? well, aside from the beginning and i guess the end a little bit lol

but i love all of the relationship focuses we get, even briefly, so here's a list of them all (p = platonic):

GrassThistle - Thistlestar made Grasswhisker entirely dependent on him especially during his mentorship of her. She's never imagined a world without him and she's too terrified and too numb to comprehend how to live without him...

MallowVole - they are mates :) but they are both assholes <3 but Voleclaw is more your generic bully guy while Mallowtail's asshole-ness is amped up because she's mourning her mom Softwing's death but she also can't mourn her bcus her mom was a traitor and therefore Mallowtail is supposed to hate her but she cant hate her mom...

LizardGrass (p) - Lizard is one of the few who puts up with listening to Grasswhisler's rants, and, though she does find Grasswhisker annoying, she's also very concerned for Grass's safety and hates how cats talk about Grass behind her back

LizardWood (p) - Woodmask doesn't even particularly like Lizardflight but he's all alone now and she's all he has left off his friend group... and he doesn't hate Thistlestar but he's terrified under his rule, someone come save this baby

FuriousLightning - Fury and Lightning in a room, what will they do

ThistleScourge (p) - Thistle is "bowing his head" to Scourge's demands so he doesn't say shit about him being Scourge's father while Lightningfur is right there. He'll outwardly believe he has Scourge under control too, but on the inside he's afraid of the small tom and the power he holds

LizardPerch (p) - Perchwing and Lizardflight are in similar situations. Perchwing is afraid to speak out against Thistlestar and Lizardflight doesn't want to risk leaving ThistleClan medicine cat-less, because, as much as she hates it there, there are cats like Grasswhisker and Shadepelt (pregnant queen without a mate) that she's afraid to leave alone and without support.

GrassVixen (p) - Vixenleap resents Grasswhisker for not seeing her relationship with Thistlestar for what it is and "purposefully" being naïve. Vixenleap hates Thistlestar with a passion, not because he's a bad leader, but because of how he treats her sister. If she had been there for Grass's exile, she would have left with her sister to keep her safe. Now, she's terrified as she has no idea where her sister went.

ShadeVixen - Vixenleap doesn't have any close friends. Shadepelt feels isolated from her clan as the only queen (and the secrets she bares). Shadepelt is more chatty though, and knows Vixenleap hates Thistlestar as much as she does. Shadepelt couldn't sleep, and saw Vixenleap was distraught, and chose to gossip with her, knowing she'd feel the same about Thistlestar's actions. Girlies <3

RippleMaple (p) - two options, Mapleshade is visiting/manipulating Rippleclaw's dreams, or Rippleclaw is believing his normal dreams are prophetic/a StarClan cat is talking to him. either way, he's spreading what he thinks is the truth but it actually utter bullshit lol

ReedPrimrose (p) - siblings siblings siblings

ReedDawn - crushes crushes crushes <3

ReedTurtle (p) - Reedwhisker just loves making half-clan friendships lol

PrimroseNight (p?) - Primroseleaf is the kind of cat who pretends to be snotty/mean but never actually succeeds lol. and Nightpaw is a very determined cat who won't leave her alone (it's because Night is scared that none of the other apprentices came with...)

ReedOak (p) - Reedwhisker just loves making half-clan friendships <33333 Oakfur is so scared and lost. He followed his dad because he truly believes his dad knew what was right even though he (Oakfur) did trust/believe Tigerstar, and then his dad died... what does he do now... His best friend Littlecloud is still in TigerClan too...

ElderReed (p) - BEST FRIENDS FOREVER

ElderMistle - some brief pelt brushing for comfort there y'know how it be ;) but they just friends rn

GorseStorkQuail (p) - the siblings ever <3

DarkRunning (p) - friends to haters

DarkCherry - haters to friends

DarkFire (p) - "you were my brother..." but there's a little more trust now

BrambleSnow (p?) - briefly mentioned together, they r friends ur honor

BrambleFire (p) - FireDad BrambleSon but they honestly have a kind of older brother little brother relationship to me.... like they are the same... Bramble admires Fire and wants to be like him...

FireSand - must i say anything? eat, Estranger, eat

MissingSorrel (p!!) - they are friends now from their shared time in the med cat den. Missing looks after her :)

MissingBramble (p) - THEY ARE BROTHERS YOUR HONOR PLEASE REMEMBER THAT!!! Missingheart doesn't want Bramblepaw to end up like him!!! He wants him to be careful and stay safe!!!

SpottedCinder (p) - Spottedleaf was Cinderpelt's mentor just as much as Yellowfang... they are best friends.... Cinderpelt would go instead of Spottedleaf if not for her leg slowing her down in the battle

The Cats of RiverClan: Graypool

Name: Graypool

Meaning: Gray furred and wise

Identity: Cisgender Molly - She/Her

Orientation: Bisexual - No Leaning

A short furred predominantly dark gray molly with a thick sleek coat and a few bald patches on her rump. Graypool has sharp yellow eyes and has been remarked to look flecked in direct sunlight. Though her nose leather is black, her ears and pad pads are a dark almost purple pink.

Graypool is sharp tongued and unwilling to listen to anyone’s nonsense. Part of Stormstar’s supporters, she went viciously after anyone who spoke against her leader and was even more aggressive towards the individuals who sneered at him while he was grieving the loss of his mate and kits.

Graypool became very close to Stormdrift as a warrior, pleased with growing fondness towards her sister and began teasing him. They consider each other siblings and privately underwent a bonding under Sweetsoul’s eyes albeit they don’t talk about it frequently so not many cats know of their bonding and even fewer knew that Stormdrift became bonded and exchanged golden scales. 

Graypool takes the amount of trust placed in her very seriously when Oakheart introduces her to Bluedawn and Thrushpelt revealing that she’s pregnant and was saddened for Bluedawn when they explained the situation. She raised the kits like they were her own but never made it a secret of their parentage - she impressed upon them the duty to do what is right over what other cats think and she’s infinitely proud of all four of her kits for being the noble and brave cats that they were.

Graypool retired to the elder’s den when Mistyfoot and Stoneswipe were made warriors ready to spend the rest of her says resting and telling young cats stories of times long past,
