“That’s a damn fine burger,” he said after chewing the bite thoroughly.

Katniss blushed for about the hundredth time, then sat back so he could get on with his meal. 

Peeta offered her some fries, but she refused, seeing as she was on the clock. And it wasn’t like he was her boyfriend. No, he was just her football idol, and a complete stranger. No doubt Johanna would give her shit about it later, probably commenting on how adorable it would have been if he’d fed her, and how she should’ve sucked the salt off his fingers, too.

Random snippets from Ghost!Peeta fic: (thank you @softlikethesunset12 @mega-aulover and @jhsgf82 for encouraging me to write this instead of getting the hint that I am asking you to write it!! 🤣🤣)

She opened the door to his old bedroom and sat on the bed, clearly waiting for him to do the same. He tried but fell through and then got up and positioned himself in a way that made him look as if he was sitting on the bed.

“How are you now?” he asked, and she smiled faintly.

“What a Peeta thing to ask when you’re the one who woke up from...a coma,” she said with a chuckle, and Peeta smiled, enjoying the sound of her laughter.

Feeling awkward, he got up and went to the kitchen to make her the hot cocoa but got frustrated fast when he couldn’t grab a hold of the cabinet handle.

“Peeta. I am not the one who's dead. You are. you died two hours after you were brought to the hospital. You went into a coma with two of the bullets landing in the back of your head. They kept you on life support because I wasn’t ready to let you go, not when I had just realized that you cared for me to some degree,” she whispered with sadness and longing in her tone. Peeta felt like he had been hit with a ton of bricks.

“I… am dead?” he asked, and she nodded, her eyes damp with unshed tears.

“Where are you going dressed like a slut?” Peeta stopped dead in his tracks, those were not words he expected to hear. And definitely not from his girlfriend. He turned around and looked over at the couch where she sat.

“What?” Katniss said defensively when Peeta chuckled.

“Just that you’re jealous,” he said, still chuckling.

“No, I’m not!”

Peeta crossed over to the couch and stood before her. His dick right before her face. “You’re not?”

Katniss looked at his dick with hunger in her eyes and then she looked up at him. Peeta felt his cock swell when their eyes met, the look on her face so sexy.

“No,” Katniss said, stubbornly.

“Then, why are you saying I’m dressed like a slut? I’m wearing sweatpants and a t-shirt!” Peeta didn’t miss the way Katniss’ eyes flickered down to his bulge when he said the word ‘sweatpants’.

Favourite story you’ve written so far: Whatever one I’m writing ends up being my favorite for the moment because I get so emotionally invested, haha. I think of the stories that are still posted, my favorite is The Bet. Of all the ones I’ve written, period, I think With Eyes to Hear.

Fic you were nervous to post:  Dysphoria, because I didn’t want to offend anyone and was nervous I hadn’t gotten everything right. The Bet because I knew there was going to be a lot of drama before the HEA and also it was my return to writing after a 3-4 years hiatus.

How do you choose your titles?: I hate thinking up titles and it is usually the last thing I do. They are so difficult. Usually I spitball a few options with friends and see which one fits the best. I also like them better when they’re simple.

Do you outline?: Umm...yes, very much so, haha. I cannot write without an outline because I have to know where the story ends in order to properly pace the flow. I usually write a basic outline first, then add in more details and then finally do a chapter by chapter outline.

Complete: Uhhh, I haven’t counted in a long time haha. Over 20 for sure in my lifetime fic writing, but I don’t know exactly.

In Progress: I have 3 posted WIPS and I have two stories in The Panem Nightlocks universe to write annnnd outlines for three new stories in another sports!romance genre mapped out. So...eight?

Coming soon: The Tutor (Annie x Finnick’s story from The Panem Nightlocks), and a new hockey romance that will begin with Everlark :) not named yet.

Do you accept prompts?: Yes, when I’m looking for a writers block jumpstart or just a palette cleanser here on tumblr. But I usually don’t accept prompts for anything more than a drabble. I have to be inspired to write something so it’s hard for me find too much inspiration from something being given to me.

Upcoming story you are most excited to write: I’m super excited for the new series I’ve been mapping out. @roxys-turing-machine has been listening to all of my ramblings and helping me piece together some really awesome outlines and I think you guys are really going to like it!

Upcoming story/stories you are most excited about: I have so many stories that are on my ‘to read’ list I’ve lost count. I’m sorry to all the stories I haven’t been able to read yet! I promise I’m getting there :)

favorite story you’ve written so far: i’m not sure because i love all my stories in different ways for different reasons? even the ones i haven’t written / published yet? 💜

fic you were nervous to post: lololololol dancing on my own definitely ….. and then i have another oneshot coming up one of these days that won’t have a happy ending (the only thing i’ve ever written that won’t have a happy ending) that makes me nervous to post. 💗

how do you choose your titles: sometimes they just comes to me (sunset in a dark sky 🌅 just came to me , candy coal 🍭 is from a line in the first book , most of my oneshots are just random titles , etc) and sometimes they’re from poems (whispers of light) or songs (gravity ❤️ , like the stars hold the moon ✨ , dancing on my own 💘) .

do you outline: i used to extensively outline every last detail and then i decided to just do a plain , simple outline , then i just did it for the upcoming chapter as i finished the last one and now i sort of just decide based on the fic i’m writing❣️

complete: i have some complete oneshots and then one currently complete multi-chapter fic for everlark and a lot of in progress or incomplete fics for either hunger games , twilight , pretty little liars , and old old old fandoms from more than a decade ago when i was probably in the 4th grade (mainly on ff.net) 💝

do you accept prompts: of course! for drabbles — okay i’ve hardly ever written drabbles, they’re definitely oneshots — mainly but sometimes they become more 🤎 it’s possible that it could become a full-fledged fic , who knows 💞

Ps. This is my first time writing canon so I’m pretty nervous about it. Anyways I hope it’s good. Sorry for any mistakes. Enjoy! 

Prompt: “You never lost me. Never really, I was always with you.”

Peeta woke up with a start. He thought he had heard someone screaming. It must have been a nightmare. But then he hears it again, someone’s screaming a heart wrenching scream. No, not someone. Katniss. Peeta is up in an instant, not bothering with pants or shoes. He flies out the door to Katniss' house. He lets himself in with the spare key that lays under the mat. 

He can still hear Katniss screaming and he doesn’t hesitate to run up the stairs to her room. Nothing is holding him back, not even the fact that they haven’t spent nights together since...since...he doesn’t even know when the last time they shared a bed was. It was before his hijacking, that’s for sure. 

I’m only helping her calm down after a nightmare, nothing more. When she’s calmed down enough I’m going home before I can hurt her, Peeta thinks to himself. 

Peeta opens Katniss bedroom door and he sees her writhing in her bed. Her body completely trapped in the sheets. And then she screams his name, “NO! Peeta! No! Run. You have to run, Peeta. Please don’t take him. Please.” 

Katniss keeps screaming and begging for him to run and for an invisible person to not take him. Peeta feels his eyes grow misty and he has to urge to turn around and run away. But he has to pull through. For Katniss. 

He slowly walks to her bed and kneels down beside it. He has to be careful; Katniss is trashing on her bed. 

“Katniss,” Peeta begins. “Katniss, wake up. It’s just a dream.” His voice rises with each word. She stopped screaming now but she’s still not awake. 

“Katniss, please. Wake up. Not real, Katniss, not real.” Katniss whimpers and Peeta knows it’s not enough to pull her out of her nightmare. He rises on his knees and hovers half above her. He lays his hands on her shoulders, carefully so he doesn’t hurt her. 

Then he shakes her, gentle but firm enough that she should wake. “Katniss, wake up. I’m here. Not real. Not real.” he repeats. Katniss' eyes fly open and she has to blink a couple of times before she can focus her gaze on Peeta. 

“Peeta?” Katniss whimpers and his heart breaks when he looks into her eyes and sees the broken look in them. And then she breaks out into sobs. Her whole body trembles with the force of them. Again, Peeta doesn’t hesitate. He climbs on her bed and wraps his arms around her small frame. She buries her face in his neck and clutches him tightly.

“They took you, Peeta.” Katniss cries. “I lost you.” 

“Shh, not real, Katniss, not real. I’m here.” 

“I lost you, Peeta. And it was all my fault.” That’s when Peeta knows that she’s not talking about her nightmare anymore. She’s talking about how the capitol took him and about the hijacking. 

Peeta softly rocks Katniss, who’s now in his lap, and then he pulls back a little. He cups her face gently, and locks eyes with her. “You never lost me. Never really, I was always with you.” 

“Really?” Katniss asks and her voice sounds so small. Nothing like the strong and fierce girl Peeta knows she is. 

“Really. And you’ll never lose me.” Peeta told her and when he spoke the words he knew they were true. He hasn’t stopped loving Katniss. Even when he was completely hijacked and his twisted mind was screaming at him that she was a mutt, he still loved her.  

Katniss clutches him tighter. “Stay with me?”

“Always.”

Prompt 100. “we’ve been at it like rabbits and you’re still horny”

“Fuck me! God, just like that!” I shout shamelessly as I come all over Peeta’s cock.

Peeta comes a few seconds after me and groans loudly, dropping his head on my chest and breathing heavily.

After a few minutes of laying like that, Peeta pulls out of me and drops down beside me on the huge king sized bed. “God, you’re so sexy. I can’t get enough of you,” he says after a few minutes of silence.

“We’ve been at it like rabbits and you’re still horny!” I accuse him. There’s no bite in my voice though; I’m trying so hard not to laugh.

Peeta grins goofily, “Yeah, well can you blame me? It's our wedding night! We just got married! You’re my freaking wife! And you’re so fucking hot and beautiful and sexy and everything.”

I blush and burry my head in his neck before I can do something stupid, like cry. “You’re everything, too,” I whisper softly.
