Why is he being offered bananas by an ape that isn't DK for once? He really didn't know the customs of banana-gifting in the Kong Country. He assumes it's... probably a good thing between them, but seeing that he himself is an actual banana, and this is his first encounter with someone other than the usual Donkey Kong....

It was generally pretty dry during summer, but today was one of your uncommon rainstorms. No lightning, thankfully, but being caught out with no insulated raincoat meant he risked catching a cold. Even in summer, he had a tendency to get sick. Well, it'd be okay, as he was taking shelter under a large tree.

At least the surrounding forest was beautiful to look at. Though he preferred to be indoors for the rain, he could appreciate it no matter what.

Hands behind his head, he resolves himself to just sitting there for a while. At least until the rain eased up. Eyes close for a moment, only a moment, before he can feel the touch of someone else. It was unexpected. Who else would be out here in weather like this?

"Don't worry. I'm still alive. Just riding out the rain for a little while."

As always, he was friendly.

"I hope it stops before nighttime. But even if it doesn't, it wouldn't be the first time I fell asleep out here."

With a snort, he begrudgingly flips himself over onto his stomach and props his head up on a hand, feet kicking the air behind him briefly as he attempts to kick himself into a livelier mood. The low banana consumption haze is real though.

"Whoooo's lazy? I'm just chillin'. Is that such a crime~?" He gives her a few unbridled seconds of silence before- "There's a reeeeason...why we're not speakiiiing. But I forget it ~ every time you're in front of meee."

Knowing DK wasn’t the type of guy who’d give up so easily, she settles her pen down and turned to face him. “Fine, what reason is that?" she asked, now that he won Candy's attention now. To the point, she forgot her writing.

Well, that was fast. Grinning when she shows she can't handle the pestering, he shoots her an innocent look in his wet brown eyes. "Ohh...you don't know?" With a snort, he keeps low to the floor, but adds weight onto his hands and feet, butt wiggling in place as he looks fully prepared to jump her.

"... 'cause it's hard to remember stuff when I'm staring at you lookin' so cute ~" He adds, eyes squinting shut as he sticks his tongue out at her for fun.
