#29: Galen Lanthi

True to your word of your parents, you dote on your sister as though she was your own daughter. Wherever she gos you follow. The pride of your hometown rests in the pride of her voice, and despite many thinking it best she be caged you helped her escape the nest. Her joy is your joy, but at times you feel as though you’ve been sequestered to a supporting character, no storyline of your own. Until you came here, and began to find it—yet how unfortunate it seems that your time was cut short before you fully discovered it.

“galen” means calm. "lanthi" is a historical name, derived from the city wish of palanthia, which is coincidentally where galen and his sister, fiametta were born.

age at time of death: 35, cis male (he/him), he was buried in his hometown next to his sister so they could pass on to cerullius together. romance: yes. sex: definitely yes. preference: masculine, but he wasn’t opposed to feminine.

he was a tall, strong man, standing at 5’10”, with short cut, choppy black hair (with an undercut most of the time) and deep green eyes. he always had a relaxed posture about him, though he was quite hard to read if you didn’t know his expressions as well as fia. he always wore bandages wrapped around his hands so he could grip his sword better. 

a MBA (using vis), and was apart of the second team ever assembled in the AGoE. he was trained at a small warrior’s school in wish of palanthia and was a hearty type, who never liked to take risks in battle but instead assess all the options before he struck. despite this, and his promise to his parents to protect fiametta, he was unable to uphold it; himself, fiametta, and hoa becoming the first 3 confirmed casualties in the labyrinth in the past few hundred years, and it was the first sign that things inside of the labyrinth itself were becoming turbulent. his body as well as fia’s and hoa’s were dragged out by their remaining teammates dion and erik, both of whom were profoundly affected by their deaths.

in life, galen was a strong and stoic type, but really it was just a mask that he donned to make sure that he was doing what was best for fiametta. he actually wasn’t planning on coming to the guilds until fia expressed interest in doing so, which caused him to train up and put the skills he’d gained from farming to some kind of use. he’s a hearty soul and enjoys life simple pleasures, which meshes well with erik. something sparked between the two of them but only for a fleeting moment, and never developed into anything more. 

3 fun facts about them: galen can lift young calves and lambs over his shoulders and generally speaking has a strong core about him; always lift with your knees. he usually whistles along whenever he hears music, especially because fia has loved sounds since she was a child and he used to whistle to help her calm down. he actually has a tattoo, but he always kept where it was a secret. erik still wonders to this day where it was lol.
