No? Saying there are possibly ties to Russia is not saying that the whole thing is outside agitators and I never said that.
I said Russia might actually be connected or trying to be connected to the movement because this is the kinda shit they've done in the past. And therefore maybe Nancy Pelosi said that because I don't know, she got a briefing as US congressperson and knows something you don't?
Maybe she is just lying her ass off because she's islamaphobic but the truth is probably that Russia wants the US to think they're involved and controlling it and they have people corresponding online for that end but they haven't had the time to embed online they had with BLM because this current situation isn't one they'd have seen coming. And you probably shouldn't ignore that and assume that they wouldn't keep working on it.
ETA: I fucked up skimming the OP. I do not mean to agree that Putin wants a ceasefire that's cooked. And also I no longer wish to give Pelosi any benefit of the doubt. Tags left as they were.
PELOSI SAYS WHAT?????

"US Muslim group condemns Pelosi for saying Gaza ceasefire protests have Russia link
By Kanishka Singh, January 28, 2024 3:44 PM EST. Updated 2 min ago
Pelosi made the remarks in a CNN interview after she was asked whether opposition to President Joe Biden's policy in the war in Gaza could hurt the Democrat in November's presidential election.
"For them to call for a ceasefire is Mr. Putin's message, Mr. Putin's message. Make no mistake this is directly connected to what he (Russian President Vladimir Putin) would like to see," Pelosi told CNN.
"I think some of these protesters are spontaneous, and organic, and sincere. Some I think are connected to Russia," she said. "Some financing should be investigated and I want to ask the FBI to investigate that."

#us politics#im not american#and yes you're playing into their hands if you think electing trump is gonna be better#because that is your only other option in an election unless one of them dies real soon#it would be good for the us president to not be pro genocide but you're not actually gonna have that option#so your choice is the guy who supports ukrainian and Palestinian genocide or just one of those#and it suck absolute ass that those are the choices#but ignoring that russia might try and use your movement will not help

I love how in this whole conversation about who would cause more deaths, Trump or Biden, almost no one is including Ukraine in their calculation. Trump would absolutely be worse for Gaza AND Ukraine. But the anti-genocide crowd seems to think children dying and cities being destroyed in Ukraine is fine. Because that's what happens if Trump wins.
But nah, let's both insist that US is the single most influential force in world stability and also ignore every other thing going on that a Trump presidency has and will make so much worse beyond the one conflict you currently care about.
Like I can understand why a Palestinian, or Jew, or Ukrainian may support a candidate based on the one issue that is most pressing for their survival, but the so called allies, screaming about throwing everyone under the bus because Gaza (never mind that it won't be any better with Trump. Like the guy doesn't give a shit about Americans who are slightly to the side of white, hetero, male and rich, you think he'll give a shit about Muslim, Jewish, 'brown people' in another part of the world?) have no fucking excuse to be this dismissive or ignorant of the harm Trump presidency has and will do again.
No shit it can be better, but this is where you're at right now. This is what you have to work with.
A guy who has done some actual good if not 100% of the time and a guy who is so profoundly vile and 100% lives to make life worse for the most marginalized, I think the choice is clear if not easy. Not voting or voting for Trump or throwing away your vote now stinks not of fighting against genocide but of putting personal ego and guilt over actual needs of people and general state of reality.
Unless you have a certain guarantee that the siege ends if Trump wins, then what the fuck are you doing gambling with the people's lives just to make a fucking point to whom?
