Look, I get being annoyed at the show not making Hephaestus completely accurate to books him appearance, but the show depiction still works for the whole Hera rejected him because even in the books, that woman still was iffy with Nico to the point Annabeth validly accused her of not caring about her older brothers side of the family because it wasn't perfect enough. Meaning show Hephaestus only being old and having a cane and still getting rejected by Hera? It fits sadly with her character, because if your not her standards of perfection, she'll reject you or not care about you at the very least.

#keep in mind same woman who declares war on zeus' children for breathing basically #except for jason but that was only cause of getting to have him as her champion basically #but still #even books made it clear she has standards for what she views as family #and nico was among the ones she didnt care for #so why is it a surprise she rejected show hephaestus for not fitting into her perfect family
