Radio and the Reporter
Hello everyone! This is the last of my Radio and the Reporter (for now 0-0) I hope you enjoy! NOT PROOF READ
“So my darling doe, why in the world are you in hell?” Alastor asked, propping his elbows on the table, folding his long spindly fingers folding nicely so he could rest his chin on them. He cocked his head to the side, his smile ever wide and menacing. You snapped your fingers. From the same two ink pots, two little creatures spring from the ink. He watched the creatures, taking in how they never stopped bouncing to imaginary music, even as they poured tea for the two of them.
You keep your eyes on the deer man in front of you, “I’ll tell me if you tell me how you ended up down here as well. You’re quite the sweetheart, I'm tickled pink to see you again, but I'm worried.” You watched as he nodded his head. You sat back in your chair, sipping tea from your tea cup. “Alright. I was a reporter when we were alive, writing articles behind my fathers back under the name  ‘Roger’” You studied his expression. No hints of cracking or anything. You sighed, lowering your cup down to the table. “But you already knew that part, I'm guessing you went through my room after I passed?”
“Took me quite a while to do so, around three years give or take” Alastor sat back and crossed one leg over the other, his head tilting a full 90 degrees before straightening back up. “I honestly would not have guessed you were doing so much behind both your father’s and well, everyone’s back my dear. You were quite sneaky. How did you pull that off?” He watches you for a moment more, lingering on your face.
“Oh that? I wore my brother's old shoes and stuffed them with enough weight to make footprints look natural. I wore his old clothes, did not speak unless I had to. But crossdressing isn't why I ended up in hell” You pull out your hand, counting on your fingers, “Let’s see, there's arson, bribery, extortion, forgery, little bit of fraud, stocking, robbery, oh and more theft” Glancing over to Alastor, watching as his eyes seem to light up with each crime listed.
“So did you ever stalk the Bayou Butcher?”
“Oh that killer? I got close” You chuckle, " but he always got away. Never got a good look, only saw his footprints, a few of his victims, but never him. I was so close to figuring out who he was before I died.” You noticed his smirk draw a little wider, enjoying himself and in turn you raised an eyebrow. “I do think I managed to narrow down what profession he was in, he was in media, just like me”
“Correct! Oh my doe is just the smartest!” He grinned as you watched in curiosity. “Would you like to know the true identity of the Bayou Butcher?”
“Oh would I ever! It's one of my biggest regrets!”
“I’ll do so only if you tell me if you were behind the theater burning down that one July”
“Deal!” You started to lean over the table, face getting closer to Alastor. “Yes I was! I had a lot of dirt on the owner of the place, and offered him a deal for me not to publish it. To prove I was serious I burned the place down!”
“Oh my devious Doe! I would love to hear the full story over tea.” Alastor chuckled and sipped his tea before also leaning closer. “Very well, I was the Bayou Butcher” You gasped as he chuckled once more. “You gave me plenty of scares when I saw just how close you were getting, I mean you had my shoe size correct! Quite amazing work, better than the fuzz who we looking for me, even more so after your death”
“Oh yeah? What happened after I died? When I woke up I was here with you ring around my neck”
“Oh you know my Doe, adding to my numbers. For the first two years I was beside myself with grief, I killed any man who spoke bad about you behind my back in an animalistic manner” His shadow showed itself, looking curious as a kitten at your little ink creatures. Alastors eyes looked lost in thought. “Then after third year I came home from hunting one such man, and figured it was time to finally look through your things. I shed my coat, hat and shoes and washed my hands of the blood before going to your room. I saw the work on your typewriter. I read it, saw in the closet, went through old articles, everything just made sense. I’d be the first to admit that it did convince me to keep my killing the same, and go back to just killing abusers. You crossed one leg over the other in curiosity, tilting your head as he went on.
“Even then I did end up getting sloppy. I lost my touch without my favorite reporter hot on my heels. One swampy evening I was burying the body on some sap’s property. The fella had dogs, they sniffed me out quickly. The owner mistook me for a deer and well, I’m here now. Rest assured such a careless mistake will not happen again.”
Alastor studied your face as you digested the information before nodding your head slowly.
“Now my Doe, I do believe you owe me a story about how you managed to shack up in such an old warehouse with a little stalls dotted over Cannibal town and more”
“Oh those? When I arrived I was bored out of my mind and none of the several acts of violence spoke to me, quite frankly seemed uncouth. However I did notice a distinct lack of newspapers all over, so I figured that I have experience in being a newshawk, so may as well put those skills to use. I opened a small paper company with Rosies help. I made deals when I could in exchange for not placing all the little secrets on the front page, just as I did while I was alive, and look at me now! I run a well oiled machine!” You beamed with pride. A long toothy grin met yours.
“Say my Doe. I can think of something that would aid us both. We did have our run of our respective media forms, so why not join them in a twisted way?”
“I’m listing Al” You waved your hands, your little ink monsters jumped back into the pots of ink to give you both some quiet. The presses slowed to a halt, leaving silence.
“Well, you are awfully good at finding out information, and I wish to punish those who are not moral as well as start up a new radio show of sorts. If we were to work together you my dear could get your paper more out to the masses and have more information at your fingertips” “Information that you want?” You pause to think. “Sure. I accept. We are not shaking or forming a contract however.”
“My doe I would never ask that of you, it seems to harsh even for me”
Smiling, you slip your ring onto your finger as did he. Reunited in hell the two of you went on to form one of the best media parings. That is, till he disappeared for seven years.

Alcohol, Sakura and Kangaroo ~Cherry Blossom Evening Stroll~ - Part 2
===============================
Hypmic ARB in-game event story (Doppo, Hifumi, Jyuto), Rio, Rei, Hitoya
Recording Link:(in case you wanna read along with the in-game voice lines and sound effects :D) https://youtu.be/3twqvBhDtso
===============================
Chapter 1
[At the bar]
Jyuto: Well then, let’s have a toast, shall we?
Doppo: Y-yes…
Doppo and Jyuto: Gulp gulp gulp.
Jyuto: Phew… *lights a cigarette* Now that I think about it, the two of us haven’t had a drink together ever since I interrogated you that one time, right?
Doppo: That’s right… Haha… That one time, you mistook me for a molester, didn’t you…?
Jyuto: Hahaha! Now that you mention it, back then your behavior seemed so suspicious that I simply had to address it.
Doppo: My behavior seemed too suspicious you say…? In a way, I probably looked like a pretty creepy guy if you suspected me of being a molester…
Jyuto: No no, that’s not at all what I meant.
Doppo: T-that’s right, isn’t it… I guess it can be hard to spot a pervert…
Jyuto: Yeah, and to me you looked about the same as one.
Doppo: Is that so… I guess a suspicious person is suspicious regardless…
Jyuto: Hey, that time is over now. It’s about time we let it go.
Doppo: That’s true… Gulp gulp gulp…! Barman, pour me another!!
Jyuto: Looks like you hold your liquor quite well. Gulp gulp gulp… Well, I’ll have another too… Doppo and Jyuto: Gulp gulp gulp.
Jyuto: Now that I think about it, since you received a thank you letter that one time, did you boast about it to your co-workers?
Doppo: A-ahaha… guess I did receive a thank-you letter, huh… it’s one of the 1000 things that I want to forget…
Jyuto: 1000 you say…? That’s way too many things you want to forget… Then let us enjoy tonight to the fullest and drink until you forget it all.
Doppo: It’s the same as always… I do something and then it turns out to have been no good at all… Yesterday was just that… It started raining heavily all of a sudden so I went to a convenience store to buy an umbrella, but just as I went outside the rain had stopped… The day before yesterday, I saw a person who lost their travel pass, so I picked it up and handed it to them, but then they looked at me as if I was some kind of suspicious person…
Jyuto: Kannonzaka-san…?
Doppo: There’s really nothing good about it… my life I mean… I… I… I… I… I… I… I… I… I… I… I… I…
Jyuto:  Let’s drink! Let’s drink and forget all that bad stuff!
Doppo: Uhhhh… Y-you’re right…
Jyuto: Barman, we’d like two tequila shots.
[Out in the city]
Doppo: Yeeeeaaaaahhh~~~~~! Today was soooo fun!
Jyuto: That’s good to hear… What do you say? The sakura blossoms are in full bloom, so how about we get some canned beer and go view the sakura blossoms at night?
Doppo: That sounds great~~~~~! Let’s gooooo~~~~~!
Jyuto: Where would there be a nice place to go in this area I wonder…
Doppo: I think Shinjuku Central Park would be a really nice place to goooo~~~~~
Jyuto: Sounds good. Well then, let’s get going.
Doppo: Let’s goooooo~~~~~!
Chapter 2
[At the park]
Hitoya: ……
Rio: ……
Hitoya: Hey……
Rio: What is it?
Hitoya: Why are you trying to eat a kangaroo?
Rio: Why…? Well, it may sound pretty strange but kangaroo meat is quite an extraordinary ingredient. I can’t just let a delicacy like that slip between my fingers.
Hitoya: No… what I meant to say is that rather than bothering to catch that kangaroo, wouldn’t it be easier to just go to a butcher’s shop and buy some chicken or beef…?
Rio: Hm… I am a soldier…
Hitoya: ? (Why the hell is this guy saying that out of the blue…)
Rio: To be a true soldier, one must be content with giving up the convenience of urban life, that’s why I must handle this all on my own.
Hitoya: ……
Rio: By doing this, in case the unexpected happens, I will be able to use my survival experience to help everyone out.
Hitoya: O-okay… I see…(In case the unexpected happens, he says… when does he think that will be…)
Rio: That’s why, finding food should be something I can handle on my own, as someone who takes lives, I think it’s a given that this is my duty. Nowadays people have let go of these values, there’s way too many people with weak senses who are afraid even of taking the life of another species.
Hitoya: Well, if you think about that a little, the explanation will be obvious. It makes sense that many people feel that way when they’ve spent most of their lives in cities, you know?
Rio: ……
Hitoya: What is it?
Rio: This is around where I ambushed my target…
Hitoya: Rope…? What are you gonna do with it?
Rio: It’s for when the time for you and I to catch our target comes. We’ll use it to prevent it from moving.
Hitoya: That’s awfully primitive…
Rio: It’ll prove to be more effective than just looking for it blindly, with no plan…
Hitoya: That may be so…
Rio: Well, let’s hide in the bushes.
Hitoya: Right…
[Timeskip]
Kangaroo: Gwooo gwooo gwooo!
Rio: It’s here…
Hitoya: ……
Kangaroo: Gwooo gwooo gwooo!
Rio and Hitoya: ……
Kangaroo: Gwooo gwooo gwooo!
Rio: NOW’S THE TIME!!!
Hitoya: HYAAAH!
Kangaroo: GWOOO!
Rio: What the!?
Hitoya: It jumped and dodged it!
Kangaroo: Gwooo gwooo gwooo!
Hitoya: Looks like we lost our chance once again, huh?
Rio: Affirmative. Seems like we have underestimated our target. From here on I will give it my all… I’ll use a trap. Give me a hand.
Hitoya: A net…? No way…
Rio: Spread it out on that side. Anything that steps on it will get caught.
Hitoya: H-hahaha… (Looks like this turned out to be a long hunt… Guess it can’t be helped, I’ll just do my part and help lay the groundwork.)
Chapter 3
[At the park]
Hifumi: *pants* ……
Rei: That chick sure is fast.
Hifumi: She didn’t tire out at all after all that running…
Rei: Right? Must have gotten a lot of training, huh. I mean, even the average young person would’ve gotten worn out by now.
Hifumi: *pants* … That really hurts to hear, huh… If only I had a bit more stamina…
Rei: Now then… We know she entered the park but where the hell did she head to, maaan~
Hifumi: Maybe she’s hiding somewhere… Let’s try to find her!
Rei: Yeah, let’s.
Kangaroo: Gwooo gwooo gwooo!
Hifumi: Woah! A k-kangaroo!?
Rei: Mm? Oh… for real? What the fuck is that thing doing in a place like this?
Kangaroo: Gwooo gwooo gwooo!
Hifumi: S-somehow it’s looking pretty scary, huh…
Rei: Oh, come here, little guy!
Kangaroo: Gwooo gwooo gwooo!
Hifumi: A-are you trying to take it with you?
Rei: Let’s say I’m taking it along on our little journey.
Hifumi: This doesn’t really feel like a journey…
[Somewhere else in the park]
Jyuto: Hoo… Viewing the trees in full bloom is surely splendid.
Doppo: For sure. Even though I pass through this area every day, I haven't really been able to pay much attention to this since I was always running to work… Now that I get to look at it properly, I can really see what a spectacular view it is…
Jyuto: …Kannonzaka-san, don’t you think it would be a little better if you lived your life a bit more leisurely?
Doppo: Hahaha… How great it would be if I actually were able to do that… I am always so busy with work that it’s completely impossible…
Jyuto: Busy as you may be, balancing work and life is about the same for everyone. Among other things, finding time for yourself can even improve your performance at work the following day. I personally think these things are connected.
Doppo: Right… that may be so…
Jyuto: Sure is. So, don’t you think even just having a drink while viewing the sakura trees is a great way to wind down?
Doppo: I do…
Jyuto: Well then, let’s have ourselves a toast once again!
???: KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!
Doppo and Jyuto: !?
Doppo: W-what was that…?
Jyuto: Screaming? …Let’s go check it out! *runs away*
Doppo: Ah, wait up! *runs after him*
[A bit earlier]
Hifumi: We really can’t find her…
Rei: Hey, if you can’t find them you can’t find them, but you find them when you find them.
Hifumi: Well, that’s just obvious…
???: KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!
Hifumi: !? T-that was loud…
Rei: Shall we check it out?
Kangaroo: Gwooo!
Chapter 4
[A bit earlier]
Rio: Good, it’s complete.
Hitoya: Problem is how are you gonna lure that thing in here…?
Rio: Shh… I heard running…
Hitoya: Mm? For real…?
Rio: Let’s hide!
Hitoya: O-okay…
Hifumi’s Former Client: KYAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
Rio: Hmm… that’s not the target…
Hifumi’s Former Client: AAAAAHH…
Hitoya: No, no, no! Don’t you go saying such careless things! We gotta hurry up and help her!
Rio: Right.
Hifumi: You guys are from the Yokohama and Nagoya divisions… What are you doing here…?
Hitoya: I get what you’re saying, but there’s also you from Shinjuku division and also that guy from Osaka division too, strange isn’t it? …huh!?
Rio: Target spotted!
Kangaroo: Gwooo gwooo gwooo!
Hifumi: Hey! You! Why are you hanging up in the air?
[Timeskip]
Hifumi’s Former Client: Uhhhh… Rei: Now then, lady. Are you gonna pay what you owe?
Hifumi’s Former Client: *gasps*
Hifumi: W-wait a second… May I talk to her a little?
Rei: *sighs* Sure. A little talking is no problem.
Hifumi: Thank you… At last we caught up to you… All I wanted to ask is why have you been indulging so much with borrowed money…?
Hifumi’s Former Client: Uhhh… because without money I couldn’t go out to meet you, Hifumi…That time I went and requested that other host… because otherwise I’d have to tell you about the debt…
Hifumi: …Is that because of the warning I gave you? Then I can’t help but ask why did you order such expensive alcohol on borrowed money…? In the end, it’ll just cause more hardship for yourself…
Hifumi’s Former Client: I’m sorry… I’m sorry… I’m sorry…
Hifumi: Mistakes can’t be helped sometimes. You also can’t really go back in time to fix them, you know. That’s why you’ll have to learn from the past and keep going. We can start by going back to that club and apologizing. It’s about time you take responsibility and pay back yourself…
Hifumi’s Former Client: H-Hifumi…
Hifumi: Amayado-san, may she and I go back to the store she left without paying?
Rei: Sure. Since you helped mediate this, I’ll give you the favor of waiting a bit longer for her payment.
Hifumi: Thank you… Well, shall we get going?
Hitoya: Wait, wait, wait. What’s with ending things so selfishly?
Hifumi: What do you mean?
Rio: Hand over that kangaroo!
Kangaroo: Gwooo gwooo gwooo!
Rei: I don’t like where you’re going with this.
Rio: Why are you so adamant on giving it up?
Rei: If you’re a man and you want this, why not just take it from me?
Rio: Looks like it can’t be helped… Then… let’s do this…!
Rei: Heh… Just try me…
Jyuto: Hey, what the hell is going on… Rio, Amaguni Hitoya, Izanami Hifumi, Amayado Rei… Then there’s also a kangaroo and a crying lady… What the hell kind of ritual is this…
Doppo: H-Hifumi…! What are you doing here!?
Hifumi: Hey, Doppo-kun! Coincidence, is it not?
Rio: That’s what you get for getting in my way. Here I go!
Rei: Same here!
Jyuto: *stops Rio* Oh no you don’t! What the fuck do you think you’re doing!
Rei: That felt just like getting hit by Jyuto…?
Jyuto: STOP IT! Explain yourselves right now!
[Timeskip]
Jyuto: So, in short, you set up a trap to catch a kangaroo, but the girl over here got caught in it I guess while Izanami Hifumi and Amayado Rei were tagging along with a kangaroo… or something?
Rio: Affirmative.
Jyuto: *long sigh* … That’s a very ridiculous yet specific story…
Rio: That was all.
Jyuto: *sighs* … You and your antics. Did you really want to catch and eat that kangaroo so badly?
Rio: Of course I did.
Hifumi: E-eat it…?
Rei: Hahaha! Didja really wanna eat this guy?! You’re way too funny!
Jyuto: Rio… There are no wild kangaroos in Japan. That kangaroo was probably under someone’s care, you know? That’s why, I’ll be taking it in for a while.
Rio: … guess it can’t be helped.
Rei: Ya done talkin’?
Jyuto: Eh? Yeah…
Rei: Well then, let’s all buy something to drink and enjoy viewing the sakura trees at night.
Hifumi: Viewing the sakura trees at night, huh… That’s quite elegant. I was told I am off work today, so I will surely be joining. You too, let’s drink together!
Hifumi’s Former Client: Y-yeah…
Hifumi: Doppo-kun, you’re drinking too, right?
Doppo: Y-yeah. Of course, I’m in…
Rio: It’s nice to sit and drink with people every now and again, isn’t it?
Jyuto: Well then, I shall take this kangaroo to the police station and return.
Rei: Great! Then let’s go buy some alcohol!
Hitoya: W-what the hell is with those guys…
Rei: Oii! We’re leaving!
Hitoya: Yeah yeah, I’m coming…!

Nothing But a Foolish Child
Teaser: Will would find this whole scene hilarious. “Really? That’s what you’re planning? Could you make it any more dramatic?” I can imagine the way he’d mime me pulling back the bowstring and imitate the sound of an arrow whooshing through the air.
Jamie
I’m only glad that I’m alone when I hear what happened to Will.
It’s old news by the time it reaches me—communicated lazily in bored, impatient mutters, punctuated mostly with smirks and eye rolls. Snatches of gossip drift past me on the wind as I steal through the market, keeping my head down: Were you there that day? Did you hear him scream? Anything else exciting happen lately?
At first, it all means nothing. People gossip all the time; they’ll watch anything if it brings a smidgeon of entertainment to the mundanity of their lives and talk about anything if it brings them enough attention.
Do you think he’ll be the next to hang?
It’s that question, asked between two merchants walking past a butcher shop, that makes me realize I should have been listening more intently.
I gather by the time I leave that my brother is—or was a few days ago—alive.
It’s a good thing that Geoff is staying at the cabin today.
One, he’d surely be upset to hear what they did to Will.
Two, I can hardly breathe, and he’s seen me break down enough times over the past weeks.
I can’t lose control in front of him again. He’ll worry, probably, if I don’t return soon, but I can’t go back to him, not like this.
It’s difficult to tell how much time passes before the shaking stops, before the pain in my chest subsides, before I can appear anything close tocalm.
What do I do now? Should I tell Geoff?
Whether to tell Colette isn’t a problem. Couldn’t tell her if I wanted to. No idea where she’s gone.
But Geoff is here.
He has a soft spot for Will, like everyone does who knows him well, but maybe a little more than most. I’m not sure what it is, because they couldn’t be more different. Geoff thinks Will is funny, for sure. Maybe, though, he sees something in my brother he can’t quite understand or reproduce himself—that loud courage, the frenetic energy and chaos, the downright obnoxiousness. So different from the quiet concentration, the gentleness hiding beneath Geoff’s hulking figure. The calm and surety that drew me to him from the beginning.
What would he say if he knew?
Sure bled a lot. Voices of cruel strangers echo in my head. Yeah, saw him fall. Damn, I’m sad I missed it.
My feet carry me to the one place I know I shouldn’t go. Colette would absolutely murder me if she knew. It’s one thing for her to swan around town, pretending to be a different person at every turn, flirting or eavesdropping to steal bits of news, sneaking around with her quick fingers and light footfalls. She’s more or less uncatchable.
You look like him, she’d remind me sternly. Or maybe she’d go for, You’re the one they’re looking for. Either way, she’d conclude with, It’s too dangerous, Alpha.
I stand outside the prison’s stone walls. Against all odds, I’ve never been on the inside of these bars and stones—but I would give anything to be the one behind them now.
I peer through the gate, trying to imagine the scene as it was a few days ago. Why wasn’t I here? If I had been, what would I have done? What could I have done? Anything? Nothing?
I’d do anything to find you. I promised Will that once, didn’t I? I’m a fucking liar.
I don’t know what to do. What I can do.
Everything is crashing down on me, crushing me, smothering me, forcing every ounce of air from my lungs and I’m not sure I’ll be able to catch my breath. It was supposed to be me. It was only a coincidence, a stroke of hell-sent misfortune that sent Will in my place to what should have been nothing more than a fucking conversation. It’s me the constables want, not him, not really. IA was my idea. It’s my responsibility.
It was supposed to be me.
It was supposed to be me, but it’s Will.
Will is alive, but he’s suffering.
Will is alive, but he’s suffering.
Will is alive.
They wanted me, but they got Will. And Will is still alive.
The thought repeats, an agonizing chorus, messy and disorganized, confused and stuttering. Will is alive, but he might not be soon.
Will is there, alive.
But they want me.
I’d do anything to find you.
Promise?
Promise.
Tumblr media
Geoff was the one who taught me to shoot. Where, exactly, he picked up his astonishing and unnerving myriad of unrelated but useful skills, I’m not sure. Not that it matters—I’m grateful no matter where he learned to stitch wounds, shoot a bow, cook decently, pick locks, navigate everywhere he goes like he’s been there before, and do everything else he can do.
This particular skill, I don’t use often—I think Geoff used to hunt more for food, but we haven’t needed to since IA, since we’ve actually had money. Mostly, it was a nice excuse in the early days to sneak off into the woods together. He was a good teacher, patient if a little terse, and having him stand next to or behind me—laying his hands on my arms or shoulders to coax me into the right position—never quite lost its thrill.
If he knew what I was doing, he would be furious, but he isn’t going to find out.
Will would find this whole scene hilarious. “Really? That’s what you’re planning? Could you make it any more dramatic?” I can imagine the way he’d mime me pulling back the bowstring and imitate the sound of an arrow whooshing through the air.
He’d find it funny, that is, if he were here. If I weren’t doing this for him. To get him out.
Geoff may have been a good teacher, but my skills aren’t quite strong enough to hit a target from this distance, especially with twilight falling quickly. Fortunately, I’m not trying to hit a target. I just need to get a message from out here to in there.
I’d love to just send an arrow straight through one of their fucking windows, but I have no idea whose office is where. And this message is for one person in particular: Constable Baden Hatchett.
Shift change is usually quick, no pomp, no fuss. One of the higher-ups stalks past the new guard shortly after…to make sure everything’s in order, or that the bastards are standing up straight, or that their shoes are shiny enough, or whatever it is you’re supposed to care about when you wear the constabulary uniform.
And when Hatchett walks by…
It’s hard to wait, of course, but I remain still, curled in the fork of a tree towering a healthy distance from the prison walls. Nobody, not even Colette, could make the jump from here into the jail yard. I’m not trying to get inside, though.
String secures a single note tightly to the arrow shaft. It’s going to fuck up the balance, I guess, but such is the risk. As long as it gets close enough to Hatchett for him to notice, I don’t care if it’s an impressive shot.
Darkness gathers ever faster, and I know the shift change will be soon. This time of year, when the sun sets early, they switch just before the light disappears completely. Then, I will simply need to wait for Hatchett to make his rounds.
What few birds remain through the autumn grow quiet, only occasional chirps and calls breaking through the gloom. Though I try to concentrate on other things, my heart is racing.
Me and Geoff’s bow, we are the same—strung tightly enough to hurt.
Maybe I’m making a mistake. In fact, I probably am. In our family, it’s not usually me making the severe errors in judgment. That’s Will’s territory, and I’m usually the one cleaning up his mess.
But tonight it’s my turn.
Noise cuts through the air: calls and laughter, relatively quiet and deceptively innocent, as the guards perform their switches.
The countdown begins.
When the man appears, the one I’m waiting for, my vision goes white for an instant. Pure, blind rage.
He arrested my brother.
He hurt my brother.
I’ve never seen his face up close, but I suppose I will soon enough.
Two things nearly stay my hand. My inner circle, of course, but mostly Geoff—how angry he will be if Hatchett accepts my terms. The other, weaker and yet still powerful and sharp in my chest, is worry for a different group. If I am dead, will IA continue without me? If it doesn’t—and I wouldn’t blame the others if they decided to disband entirely—what will become of all the people we’ve helped over the years? Will others rise to take our place, or will they be too fearful once they learn of my fate? Will the days of stealing from the rich and giving care packages to those in need be done for good?
Undeterred by these worries, I touch the arrowhead to my lips, an unconscious wish of good luck, a wordless command to fly straight and true. These are my last moments to change my mind. Once I fire, I am shackled by a promise.
And once I make a promise, I am honour-bound to keep it.
It’s unwise to stay still and try to read his face from this distance; I must rely on my imagination to fill in what I cannot discern. I hope his expression is startled, perhaps slightly fearful, but intrigued, as he reads my message and what I offer in exchange for Will’s freedom.
Geoff is pissed off when I return. “Where were you?”
“I needed to walk.”
I stashed the bow and quiver before I came inside, and by some stroke of good luck, he hasn’t noticed it’s gone. It’s dark enough in the old cabin that I’m probably safe until morning, when I can sneak it back inside to its home in the corner.
“Thought you were done with that, Wolf.”
The hurt in his voice slices into me. “I know.” I don’t want to fight. Tonight, of all nights, I don’t want to become mired in a conflict I might never get to resolve. Or say something I might die regretting. “I’m sorry.”
He’s looking at me with worry and even suspicion. Something—I have to say something. “I think Will’s alive.”
I still don’t know if bringing it up is the right choice, but it’s too late now. I don’t want to tell him about the flogging—don’t want to put those pictures in his head. But I need to give him some kind of reason for my twilight wandering.
He blinks. Blanches, even. “Why d’you think that?”
“No executions since that first one.” I swallow. I hate keeping things from him.
Silence. Uncomfortable. Sickly.
“He must be so scared,” I say. I see Geoff’s mouth open like he’s about to speak, too, but I keep going. “I would be, if I—if it—” Fuck, fuck, I’m going to lose control again. “He’s alone in there. He probably thinks—thinks that—”
He thinks I’ve given up on him.
“And you know what he’s like.” A headache blooms and attacks immediately, wasting no time with any slowly intensifying nonsense. Instant. Violent. “He runs his mouth, he doesn’t think, he’s a complete asshole on a good day. When he’s upset…”
Sure bled a lot. Yeah, saw him fall.
“I don’t know if I can do it, Geoff.” Any more and I will tell him what I’ve done. I bite my tongue. The coppery tang of blood fills my mouth. “I can’t watch him die.”
His anger fades. “You don’t have to. No one would…”
The implication, filthy and shameful: he’d understand if I didn’t go. If I weren’t present for my brother’s unfair, unjust, untimely execution.
You don’t have to, he says. With any luck, I won’t have to. “Don’t say that, Geoff. You know I couldn’t…”
I let the unsaid words hang between us.
Geoff pulls me toward our meagre pile of blankets. There’s no bed in here—it’s set up as a resting spot for hunters, usually groups who just camp on the floor with bedrolls. “Wolf.”
Tonight, I flinch at the name. It’s wrong. It’s cursed.
“Just…” My next words might be the ones to give me away. “Can you just…” I can’t stop myself. “Geoff. Please.”
He knows. He always does. How is it that, no matter where or when, he always knows what I need? What everyone else needs? “Jamie.”
Finally.
“You would actually go, right?” I’m trying so hard not to lose it. “I can’t leave Will, I can’t, not really.” Leaving the house was one thing. Leaving town is another. “But if it was me, or if something happened, you would go.”
It isn’t a question. It cannot be a question.
“It’s different for me and him,” I say. “He’s my brother, my family, I have to—I have to at least be here. But Geoff, promise, fucking promise me you’d leave and never come back.”
Geoff wraps his arms around me, presses his face against my neck, the unkempt, wiry hairs of his beard digging into my skin, a sublime sort of torment, innocent yet lethal. “Jamie.”
His grip tightens, and mine does, too.
“You are my family.”
And I’m done, I’m wrecked. Again. After weeks of teetering on the edge and feeling helpless… Now I’ve finally done something and Geoff said my name and IA is all he has and I am all he has and—
I’m going to abandon him.
Geoff was once a secret I couldn’t tell a single soul—not just the way he made me feel, that day and every day since, but the twist of fate that brought us together that even Will doesn’t know about.
Now he is the one I am keeping secrets from.
Constable Hatchett,
If you want IA, then you want me. If the man you arrested goes free, unharmed, I will turn myself in, and Iustitia aecum will be no more.
Your move.
J. W.

my hot takes on yj s2
i really enjoyed the season! but there are a LOT of pacing problems this season that could’ve been avoided.
There were waaaay too many characters and arcs introduced this season, and I think it was a bit of a disservice. Things I think could’ve been different:
Adult Van was introduced only to have no development and no load-bearing plot involvement. Introduce her next season, and this season have Tai hitchhike to Lottie’s place while she’s off the shits and desperate about Other Tai. It’d emphasize Tai’s desperation better and give her more time and space to have her internal conflict about pacifying Other Tai/whether Lottie can be trusted/whether It is real or if they did all that without outside influence (all of which are the same conflict imo). It also would have made Tai’s (remember, Van is still oin fucking Ohio or whatever) decision to call off the psych support team make more sense - that’s the moment where Tai decides that Lottie/The Wilderness/Other Tai is right, she needs to be here, she needs to do this in order to get her life back on track.
The caves! The fucking caves! Why did you blow your load on the caves! It took away 90% of the emotional devastation of Ben lighting the cabin on fire, because now that the caves are in play, it’s a question of “when does the team get there” versus “where do they go when they’re desperate and starving and their home has been destroyed?” It ruined a lot of tension that could’ve been really good! And instead of having the question of “what happened to Coach Ben? Did we leave him in there? Where is he now?” we just... know where he is.
Officer Saracusa: unless he’s a big player next season, which seems likely now that Walter has him by the balls, I’m miffed about how much screen time he got. It was a short season with a lot of moving parts, and I hope his airtime gets justified.
Cutting Van/caves/Saracusa out of the season would’ve given us more time to see how Nat changes over her time in Lottie’s cult, and it’d give more time to see her relationship with Lisa develop. Nat’s death felt really cheap to me without those two things.
Shauna’s baby... oh, man. The biggest problem I had with s2 character-wise was the Jackielessness of it all. Jackie was such a driving force for Adult Shauna in s1 and the lack of that in s2 felt really strange, since clearly Shauna is not over it (Shauna is not over anything, ever, at all). So where is Jackie? Shauna’s baby is the new Jackie. He’s the lovechild of the two people most important to Jackie, he’s innocent, and he’s Doomed As All Hell by the narrative. I think it would’ve been a better choice to cut the long alive-baby-hallucination sequence and instead have Shauna’s grief (+ postpartum psychosis maybe?) show up as her refusing to let go of the baby/admit it’s dead, to the point where days pass and the team is trying so so hard to convince her to let go. Shauna takes Baby into the meat shed during that moment of “Jackie, I really need you right now,” cries when Hallucination!Jackie doesn’t appear. Cut to the future, next cut to ‘96 is Shauna laying the baby to rest under the pile of rocks. Shauna comes back into the cabin and hears Lottie saying “the Wilderness gave us what we asked for. Shauna lived.” And that’s the trigger for the beatdown.
Not a criticism, but woooooow how fucked up is it that they had the girl who just had a stillbirth butcher a literal child?

╬╬═════════════╬╬
The infamous rebel let out a pernicious snicker when he saw the serene and usually proper former acquaintance walk in his direction.
"Are my eyes deceiving me or is that really the pastor's prissy little daughter out past her bedtime in a college party?" He found the situation much too amusing that he just had to point it out.
"I have a name you know." The female he was referring to halted in her steps to turn her head and give him an unkind and unfriendly look.
"You have several, actually. There's goody two shoes, priss, prude, prig-"
"Oh shut the fuck up Choi San." She scoffed as she began walking away from him, already feeling annoyed by his presence.
The man trailed after her, his face donning a shocked expression as he flailed his arms around in a dramatic way.
"Guys it's happening! The apocalypse is really here if L/N Y/N has not only attended a wild party full of debauchery, but her mouth has actually uttered out cursed words!" He shouted out, the other attendants either joining in laughing at her or ignoring him in favor of the bottles or sticks in their fingers.
"I'm surprised you even know what that word means." She turned to look at him with a mocking smile, arms crossed over her chest.
"Please, I know a lot more than you have ever pretended to know." He clicked his tongue, elbow coming up to rest on the wall next to him.
"Is that why you turnt corrupt and abandoned everything you believe in?" She couldn't help but spat back at him.
"Hey at least I was honest and didn't hide it like you people who lead double lives. Preaching one thing but living the total opposite. You're all nothing but a bunch of hypocrites." The venom in his voice was unmistakable, nose scrunching up in disgust as he remembered gross sins he had more often than not had witnessed from people who claimed to be pure and holy.
"I do not lead a double life." She remarked.
"Oh really? Then why the hell are you here in a college party? Full of alcohol, drugs and walking STDs? Riddle me that princess." His foot tapped against the floor, patiently awaiting an answer from her.
Y/N swallowed the non existent lump in her throat and turned her gaze to the floor in embarrassment.
"I just wanted to see what it was like. Just once." She admitted begrudgingly, the man in front of her chuckling lowly.
"Well you sure are going to have a lot to confess on Sunday to your dad. Silly girl, walking into the lion's pit like this." He jeered at her.
"Don't get ahead of yourself. Just because I came here doesn't mean I've done anything morally wrong." She counteracted his words to which he only snorted.
"Yet."
Tired of his overly obnoxious attitude, Y/N spun on her heel to get away from him, but she spun so carelessly and fast that she ended up bumping into another classmate who unfortunately was holding a full cup of beer that ended up being doused all over her white blouse.
"Oops! Sorry, my bad." He excused himself, looking completely unapologetic about the situation.
Meanwhile Y/N looked absolutely horrified as she took in the drenched state of her shirt that now had the stench of alcohol on it. The fact San was bursting out in giggles only served to make her even more mad.
"Now tell me how do you plan on explaining that to dear old-"
"Can it San or I swear I'll gauge your eyes out." She threatened him as she stormed out the building, not caring that she bumped into a few figures on her way out.
Feeling just a bit of empathy for his old friend, San sighed softly before following after her. Upon catching up to her, he took hold of her wrist and started dragging her in the opposite direction.
"Hey! Get your filthy hands off me! I will not hesitate to scream!" She tried tugging her arm away.
"Calm down I'm not planning on kidnapping or anything like that sweetheart. I'm taking you back to my car."
She let out a dry laugh at that.
"But that's not kidnapping?" She raised an eyebrow at him.
"I have a spare shirt in the backseat that you can change into. Unless you wanna go home smelling like PBR." He looked back to see the mess one more time, lips curling up into a smirk.
Against her better judgment, she allowed him to take her all the way where his car was parked, standing there quietly as San rummaged through the backseat before taking out a clean plain white tshirt and held it out to her.
"Here. Put it on."
She looked at him with a face that asked if he was stupid.
"Well what?" He asked.
"Oh yes..I'm totally going to strip in a middle of the street and let anyone passing by see." She rolled her eyes at him.
"Oh for fuck's sake, there's nobody here, nobody is going to see and frankly I don't think anyone cares about seeing your non existent boobs." He scorned at her as he gestured to her chest.
"Ok rude and uncalled for." She felt slightly hurt by his comment, having always been somewhat insecure about the size of her chest.
"Don't look." She warned him.
"Not like I want to." He jeered at her as he turned away to not only give her privacy, but to also serve as a lookout for anyone that might accidentally show up and see the scene. He could hear her behind him tearing off her clothes and then slipping it back on.
"Ok there. I'm done." Y/N announced as she stuffed the soiled shirt into her bag.
"Not even a thank you?" San pouted slightly, to which Y/N gave a feigned smile.
"Thanks."
With that said and done, she brushed past him and started walking away, absolutely done with the night.
"Careful not to get caught sneaking back inside your house." She heard San say from behind.
"For your information I'm not living with them anymore. I moved into the dorms 2 months ago." She stated in a matter of factly, a proud look on her face.
"Well in that case....want to ride back with me?" He offered.
"Yeah no, I'd rather take my chances at being kidnapped and then butchered up. Besides, I wouldn't want to cut your wild night short." She declined the offer.
"Stop being so negative Nancy and accept my generosity. Geez."
Running over to her, he quickly snatched her up and threw her over his shoulder, ignoring her shocked exclaims and protests.
"Now this is really kidnapping!" She declared.
"Yeah I know, now shut up before I duct tape that bratty mouth of yours." San grinned mischievously as he tossed her into the backseat and shut the door before striding over to get on the driver's seat.
"Oh come on. Stop looking at me like I'm a criminal. Just because I indulge in a few sins every now and then, doesn't make me into a bad person." He stated when he saw the dirty look she gave him.
"Whatever." She muttered as she locked in her seatbelt.
San opted for just driving back to the dorms and get Y/N tucked in her bed since it was clear to him she needed it.
╬╬═════════════╬╬
"You're lucky my roommate is on vacation, otherwise I would have left your ass back there." Y/N spewed out as she threw her keys onto her dresser.
"Thanks Y/N, I always said you were the nicest and most giving person in the planet." San complimented her as he felt he should given she was letting him stay the night in her dorm after a little tiny incident with his keys dropping inside one of the manholes surrounding the university. And the administration office wouldn't be open til the morning, meaning he was screwed unless his roommate showed up to let him in, but that was a definite no since San knew Seonghwa would definitely end up in someone else's bed and come back til the next day, hickeys plastered all over his neck and chest.
"No, you always said I was the most stuck up-"
San shushed her by pressing a hand over her mouth.
"You dwell so much on the present image of me you drew up in your head that you completely erased the friend you had all those years ago." He slid his hand off her mouth, shoulders slumping down as he turned away from her to crouch on the floor.
"That friend doesn't exist anymore, that is if he even existed in the first place. If I recall, my friend wasn't into parties, booze, vaping, tattoos, piercings and fucking around with every whore in the school."
San didn't say anything as he heard her ramble, he just let her talk away as she started pulling out spare blankets and pillows for him to use.
"My Sannie was sweet, cute, adorable, always ready to lend people help and respectful to others." She reminisced with a sad look. Pulling her expression straight, she laid out the blankets and started arranging them neatly on the floor.
"I still am."
San's voice was so quiet that she barely registered that he even opened his mouth in the first place, but she heard him.
"Maybe if you weren't so puffed up with pride and didn't cut me off after I cut ties with the church, you'd see that I'm still the way I was. You think I changed completely because of ink and metal on my body? Because I wanted to try certain substances and yes, satisfy some perfectly normal and humane needs?"
Y/N averted her gaze from him and continued the task she was in. San let out a despondent scoff.
"Of course you do. And yet didn't I just demonstrate to you back there that I haven't changed? Giving you my shirt, giving you a ride, yeah I know, it's not much and no big deal, but wasn't those the types of things I'd do even back then?"
Y/N's tongue poked against her cheek as she knew she couldn't deny that was San said was absolutely true. He did nothing different back at the party as he used to do years ago. Helping old ladies with grocery bags, giving away some of his clothes to less fortunate kids, he was always known as being such a giving and kind person.....
No wonder so many were devastated when it was announced he had resigned as a member of the church. Y/N herself was hurt and even indignated by his decision. And after that she adamantly refused to see him or talk to him, and of course San respected her decision and avoided contacting her so as to not make her uncomfortable. He understood that their friendship was broken and he wasn't going to overstep boundaries just to try and fix it when the other party didn't want it. So he just decided to live his life as he thought was right without his conscience bothering him. And he was much happier now, he felt free, something that he had never felt before. Perhaps he was so chained down by formality, discipline, strict regulations and even fear that he didn't realize that he was miserable all that time until his eyes were fully open and he found he didn't like what he saw, especially after seeing the dark and ugly side of what was supposed to be a safe and pure sanctuary. He was let down severely and he suffered in the process. But now that was behind him and he had no regrets......
Except Y/N. He truly missed her and her company. As he laid on the makeshift bed on the floor, he found himself unable to sleep as he recalled all those fond times spent with her. The trips to the lake, hiking, first day of school, their first accident after he had gotten his driver's license. He let out an involuntary smile at that memory. Unbeknownst to him, the girl on her bed was equally reminiscing on the old days filled with her best friend. She had been so alone ever since she distanced herself from him, the world now feeling empty and cold without him. Shifting around in her bed, she whined into her pillow as she desperate tried to sleep.
"What's the worst thing you've ever done?" Her question startled San momentarily.
"Are you that sleep deprived that you're suddenly asking me to confess my worst sins?" He chuckled amusedly.
"Maybe it'll help me get actual sleep, I don't know. And.... I'm just curious." She clutched one of her plushies and started messing around with it.
"Curiosity killed the cat and I don't think your virgin mind will be able to handle my confession." He asserted confidently.
"I'm not a virgin, but oh well. Just tell me, what's the worst?" Her casual response made San flip out. He sat upright and kneeled at the front of her bed with an incredulous look.
"What do you mean you're not a virgin? When did you-?" He was so flabbergasted he wouldn't even finish his sentence.
Rolling over to where he was, Y/N smirked at him.
"Uh uh. I asked you a question first and you have to answer it before I can answer any you want."
Knowing he had no alternative, San placed his chin on the top of her mattress.
"Had a threesome with 2 of our professors." He laughed when he saw how shocked Y/N looked.
"What?! No way!" She refused to believe him.
"It's true. I won't tell you who they were since you won't be able to look at them the same way if I did...... I'll just dish this: they both got really huge tits and it's a shame they're married." He admitted with a smug expression.
"I can't believe you." She fanned her face which she was sure was now a deep crimson color.
"Ok now your turn. When did this happen? Who was it with?"
Y/N didn't even mind that San got up and crawled into her bed to lay down next to her. His face was rested on his hands as he looked at her with intense inquisitiveness. Knowing she'd have to talk about it sooner or later, she thought it would be best if San was the one to know since he would never tell anyone else and he'd understand since he was tainted as well.
"Remember when that group of missionaries came to stay over at our city for a while back in high school?"
San nodded, vividly remembering everything. Y/N blushed and smiled shyly.
"Do you remember that there was a family with a son our age? Chase?"
San widened his eyes and flopped over on his back as his hands came to hide his face.
"Oh dear lord, please don't tell me it was that Canadian boy." He groaned in pain.
"Yeah....yeah it was."
San couldn't stop cringing at the thought of his friend doing such a thing.
"How even did that happen?" He was so lost.
"I don't know! It just did ok? It happened while we were out in that camping trip. Somewhere there, we were left alone and we started talking about everything and nothing til it spiraled into talking about sex and us being virgins decided to see what was the big deal....." She bit her lower lip as the memory flashed in her mind. Looking over at San, she knew he was judging her as she expected. A tiny snort escaped his lips.
"That must have been the worst 45 seconds of your life." He joked, earning him a slap on his chest by Y/N's hand.
"It was not 45 seconds!............. it was 2 minutes."
San only laughed harder at that, nearly crying from how funny it was to him. He composed himself though when he saw how embarrassed Y/N looked about it. Feeling bad for laughing at her expense, he cleared his throat and patted her head.
"It's ok. First times are always awkward and uncomfortable. The problem was you weren't prepared and you were both inexperienced. He just didn't know how to please you."
Y/N couldn't help herself as she asked:
"And I suppose you can?"
Flipping onto his stomach, San cupped her chin with his hand and ran his thumb across her lower lip.
"Don't tread on dangerous territory little angel lest you want an evil demon to corrupt you." He warned her, and although he wouldn't actually follow through on it, he did want to tease her a little. But he wasn't expecting for Y/N to play along to his teasing, only she was not joking at all as she brought her face closer to his.
"Maybe I want you to corrupt me, show me what I've been missing out on." She brushed her lips against his, tongue daring to poke out and press on his slit briefly, leaving him stunned.
"You have no idea what you're asking for princess." San mused as he held himself back from touching her.
"I know what I'm asking for Choi San and what I'm asking for....is you." She responded with confidence.
Escaping from underneath the blanket that covered her, Y/N reclined back on the mattress, her head laying on her soft pillow as she gestured for San to come over to her, which he promptly did. Parting her legs so he could fit his body between them, he smirked softly down at her eagerness, fingers brushing against the soft skin on her thighs.
"You're serious about this?" He wanted to make sure it wouldn't be something she'd regret.
"I already messed up once, what's one more time gonna do?" She pulled him down against her, not caring when he lost balance and accidentally crushed her under him with his muscular body.
"Besides...." Wanting to further entice him, Y/N brushed her lips against his ear.
"Look at me and tell me you don't want to fuck me. That you don't want to stuff that hard cock of yours into my tight and inexperienced pussy. Bet you're itching to tear into me until I'm crying under you. Don't you want that?"
San let out a moan at hearing such filthy and depraved talk from her. It only fueled his appetite and hunger for indulging in carnal desires.
"Yes... I want that.... I want you."
Closing space between them, San molded his lips over hers, encasing them in a sloppy and wet kiss. Y/N could faintly make out the leftover scent of alcohol and nicotine as she let him taste her mouth, but she didn't mind or felt grossed out by it. She just kept her lips parted and allowed him to move his tongue freely inside her. Cupping her cheeks, San continued to roll his tongue over hers, massaging it gently with both deep yet gentle strokes. When he pulled away, he made sure to tuck her bottom lip between his teeth, pulling it towards him as Y/N let out a moan that was like music to his ears. Pausing briefly, their lips were barely touching as they breathed in each other's air. San was the first one to break into a smile, the one that had Y/N melting since it displayed his dimples to the fullest.
"Never thought I'd hear that sound come out of your pretty mouth." He teased her.
"S-shut up." She frowned, hand reaching up to smack his chest.
"It's not a bad thing. I like it. Now let's see if I can make sure you keep them up."
Stuffing his face into her neck, San ghosted his lips across her skin, tongue subtly poking out solely to hear her breath hitch slightly. Dipping his tongue into her collarbone, his lips opened up so they could firmly latch and spread wet kisses across her neck. Y/N gasped when she felt teeth sink down, head tilting back to give San more room which he took advantage of. Focusing on particular spots that he knew she was sensitive in, he sucked her skin into his mouth. Each time he pulled away, he reveled when he saw the finished mark that was now painted on her skin.
"I would love to see your parent's reaction to my love bites." He brushed a fingers across the newest spot he just embedded in her body, hand then reaching up to suddenly clasp around her neck. Y/N shuddered when his grip got tighter, her oxygen intake getting cut and making her feel hazy, but it was nonetheless enjoyable. Snaking a hand under her shirt, or more like his shirt, San swiped his tongue over his bottom lip as he started to pull the material up.
"How about I make some matching ones all across your pretty chest?"
Before he could lift the shirt any further, Y/N's hand clasped around his wrist, preventing him from moving any further.
"Don't." She begged him.
San retracted his hands away from her, fearing he made her uncomfortable.
"I'm sorry." He immediately apologized and began to move away from her, but Y/N's hands raked against his thighs to keep him in place.
"No, it's not you. It's just..... if we're going to do this, can I keep the shirt on? I don't...." She took a deep breath and closed her eyes as she admitted an insecurity of hers.
"I don't like my chest. My boobs are too small, it's unflattering and I'd rather you not see them." She slowly opened her eyes to see his reaction. San had a sad look on his face, bottom lip poking out as his fingers came up to brush against her cheek. Remembering what he had previously said back in the parking loyal, he felt terrible for saying that ill intended joke about her body. He probably hurt her and he didn't realize it.
"Y/N don't say that. Your chest size doesn't matter. You're beautiful the way you are and I bet underneath that layer is clothing there is the cutest and most adorable set of boobs in the world." She let out an involuntary giggle at his words, letting him run his hand down her clothed sternum.
"But if that's what you want, I'll respect it. Either way, my tshirt looks amazing on you." He acknowledged rather cockily.
Shifting further back, San took hold of the top of her shorts, making sure to look at her.
"Are you ok with these coming off?"
Y/N resisted the temptation to slap the top of his head.
"If you don't take them off, how are you going to fuck me genius?" She retorted.
"You'd be surprised at what I've learned." He uttered, mostly to himself than at her.
Like an expert, he practically tore her shorts down her legs, panties falling to the floor along with them. Y/N let out a soft squeal when he took hold of her thighs and brought her down so his face was at eye level with her most intimate part. San took a few seconds to admire her bare mound, lips parted and threatening to start drooling all over her thighs. Pressing both thumbs against each one is her lips, San pried her folds open, staring intently as he now clearly saw all of her.
"Oh fuck. I'm gonna need to prep you real good. I can tell you're going to be really tight."
She wanted to ask him what he meant by prep, but her words got caught in her throat when she felt his tongue delve into her core. She had never felt someone's mouth anywhere near her folds and she regretted not having experienced it before. Her eyes shut tight as she marveled at the sensation of San's tongue lapping at her bud, his lips making sure to enclose all around the flesh surrounding it before giving it gentle suckles. Shaky breaths blew out from her mouth, her legs wanting to close themselves around San's head but his firm grip on her thighs kept it from happening. He kept her knees pinned to the bed as his mouth continued to ravish at her taste, sloppily consuming her heat fervently. Her mind was so occupied in what he was doing that she didn't register the hand that slowly crept away from her thigh until she felt something poke at her entrance.
"Oh-" She gasped, opening her eyes to see what was going on.
"Relax princess. It's just my finger.....for now." He momentarily pulled off her heat to let her know what was happening before diving back in to continue his task of eating her out.
His finger inside her felt a little weird at first, sliding in slowly before pulling out only to plunge itself back into her. During one of those times where she expected him to slide back in, she was surprised when she felt herself being stretched out as San curled a second finger inside her. Keeping them lodged there, he began scissoring them alternatively so he could further spread her walls apart. During one of those movements, his fingertips brushed along her hood, making her hips slightly jolt up into San's face, who smiled against her folds as he now knew exactly where to angle his hips for later. Using this new knowledge, that was probably unbeknownst to Y/N, he slipped his fingers deeper into her, knuckles deep as he moved his tips rhythmically on the the spot he found. Y/N's mouth fell wide open into an 'O' as whiny gasps and airy moans poured out of it. San's mouth latched to her clit and his fingers working deep in her hole was producing a stirring in the lower pit of her stomach that she couldn't quite make out. But it felt good, especially since it continued to grow more and more, almost as if it was a cord about to snap.
"San- wait. I feel, I feel-" She couldn't finish her sentence as her body trembled slightly, a flood of overwhelming pleasure washing over her that was prolonged by San drinking up the juices that spilled forth out of her body. He didn't pull away until he made sure to swallow every drop she had to give.
"Aren't you grossed out?" She asked him, always having wondered about that.
"Nope. I love licking girl's pussies, especially if they're as sweet as yours." He affirmed while pulling his shirt off his body.
Y/N turned her flustered face away from him, keeping her gaze locked on the wall to her right, which was decorated with several polaroids of her with her family, friends and members of her church, some of them even had San in them, back when they were inseparable. Before she could become nostalgic, a strong set of hands clutched her chin and teared her gaze away from the pictures, forcing her to stare at the now naked man in front of her.
"Forget about that for now. Right now I want your full attention on me and what we're about to do. After we're done, that image of a good girl you have will gone." His words seemed to almost taunt her.
Although she tried not to look, Y/N's eyes fell in between San's legs, filled with astonishment when she glimpsed for the very first time at her former friend's member, fully erect and leaking at the tip as it awaited to be hugged by her warm walls.
"Like it? Maybe later I'll let you play with it." San giggled when her eyes shot up at him in surprise.
Placing himself to hover above her, he hummed lowly as he slowly stuffed himself inside her, working her open until he was fully nestled inside her warmth. Although she felt a light burn scraping against her inner walls, it wasn't unpleasant or painful like her first time. She could tell San knew exactly what he was doing as he began rolling his hips. Perfectly recalling exactly where to aim at, he made sure to angle his thrusts accordingly so each time he pushed back in, he'd hit her pleasure spot.
"Oh God-" Y/N exclaimed when he continued to brushed against the hood of her core.
"Really think it's a good idea to call out the good lord's name when I'm balls deep inside your pussy?" He asked with a malicious smirk plastered across his face.
"No baby. Tonight your only lord is me."
Pinning her wrists above her head, San continued pushing his cock deeper into her. The harsh pounding of his hips against hers was becoming louder, their bodies starting to get heated and producing sweat. Y/N couldn't do anything but whimper and wrap her legs around San's waist, keeping him firmly locked to her body. She closed her eyes once more as she felt the same familiar feeling from before start piling up, only it felt more intense and stronger probably due to the fact that she was getting railed to her bed by her ex best friend, whom she still cared about deeply. She was definitely not planning on making up with him this way, but holy hell, she couldn't deny that he was making her feel so many emotions at once. Pleasure, lust, satisfaction, happiness, euphoria, love? Perhaps that last one was definitely a stretch, but she blamed her confused thoughts on how well his cock was abusing her hole. She felt unable to focus on anything except him.
"Clenching so hard around me babygirl. Are you gonna cum all over my cock?"
Slipping one hand in between their bodies, San pressed his thumb against her clit, rubbing it back and forth so it would serve as an extra push to tip her over the edge. Y/N splayed her hands on San's lower back, nails raking against his skin, causing him to hiss.
"Fuck- am I seriously making you feel that good babygirl?" He knew for a fact he was feeling absolutely amazing, her tight warmth gripping along his shaft, making it hard for him to hold back much longer.
"Mmm yeah." She shamelessly moaned.
"Am I better than your first?" Although he already knew the answer, he still wanted to feed his ego and hear her say it.
"So much better! It feels so fucking good." She inhaled sharply when that she began to feel the sensation from before. With even louder cries from before, her body shook underneath San's, blood rushing to her head as an even greater orgasm coursed through her body. She was left speechless, a full on panting mess even after San had pulled out of her after helping her ride out her high.
"Oh geez. Shit." San's voice rasped out as he jerked himself off, his cum painting her thighs white, not stopping until he had finished coating them with everything he had to give.
Looking down at the mess, Y/N couldn't suppress a tiny giggle, one of her hands clasping over her mouth while the other picked up some of his cum and spread it between her fingers.
"Having fun there?" San grinned, finding her fascinated gaze to be completely adorable to him.
"Yeah.." She said as sat up to get a better look at the cum around her thighs.
"Well I was going to clean it off you, but seeing as you're so entertained by it, I'll just leave you with it."
Not forgetting that he was merely a guest, San slid himself off her bed and plopped his tired body onto the blankets on the floor. Closing his eyes, he was thinking he would finally be able to sleep, but he found his plans thwarted when he felt a pair of hands graze across his chest. Looking up, he found Y/N straddling his lap, biting down on her lower lip as she grinded her wet folds along his softened dick which was now becoming hard again thanks to her.
"What in the world are you doing you crazy girl?" He sucked in a breath, not expecting her to suddenly pounce on him.
"I wanna try that again." She pleaded, grinding her hips harder on him.
"Oh my- did I accidentally turn you into a nymphomaniac?" She chuckled at his joke and although he groaned as if he was frustrated, he obliged to her wishes and sat up.
Clasping her waist with his hands, he lifted her up and guided her so she could easily sink herself down on his length. Not letting go, he slowly rolled his hips up, burying himself deep in her body once more. Since they were both still riled up from their previous session, it didn't take long for both of them to start spewing out a clutter of moans and grunts as they once again get lost in a mist of lust that clouded their minds. San drunk up every expression on Y/N's face. Every twitch of her facial muscles, every shuddering breath she exhaled, each time her eyelids shut close, he marveled at seeing her enjoy the experience. He loved seeing her indulge in such an intimate practice with him, more so given how special she was to him, one of the most important people in his life aside from his family. Looking down at her torso, his fingers brushed along the hem of her shirt.
"Please...." His urging caught her attention.
"Please let me see all of you. I want to admire every inch of you and your beautiful body. I promise I won't laugh or judge. I just want to worship you."
Y/N hesitated briefly, still afraid to let him see what was hidden under the shirt.
"It's ok if you don't want to. I won't force you." He shot a kind smile at her as he focused back on making sure to drive his cock up into her.
Feeling safe and knowing she could trust her lifelong friend whom she thought of as a soulmate at one point, Y/N reached for the bottom of her shirt and peeled it off her body. Coming face to face with her bare chest, San groaned in ecstasy as he slid his hands up her body.
"Just as I predicted, you have very cute breasts."
Pulling her chest to his face, he opened his mouth and took one of her nipples in it, swirling his tongue around it before sucking on it. Y/N's fingers raked themselves through his hair, harshly tugging them when she felt his teeth sink themselves into her flesh.
"Aren't they too small?" She inquired.
Letting go of her breast with an audible pop, San cupped her chin.
"No baby, they're absolutely perfect. They're gorgeous, just like every other part of your body. You're gorgeous, absolutely stunning and holy fuck, you're driving me insane honestly." He confessed, his mouth diving into her other breast so it wouldn't feel left out from being tenderly kissed and sucked on.
His words sunk deep in Y/N's heart. He really did found her beautiful, attractive and it spurred something in her. Feeling a newfound passion, Y/N unconsciously began taking over their movements. Pushing against his thrusts, she began to set her own pace, rutting herself on top of his dick. San of course took notice and was happy about it.
"Oh wanna take over now baby? Well go ahead."
Laying back down on the floor, his eyes stared up at her with lust.
"Fuck yourself on me darling."
Encouraged by him, Y/N began bouncing herself on his cock. Finding an angle that she liked, she sunk down on his length over and over, her head thrown back as she used his body to push her down another spiral of immense pleasure. San just relaxed and admired the way she lost herself and gave into her deepest desires. He loved the way she rode his cock, and he loved feeling her walls tighten once more around his shaft.
"Oh shit- Sannie." She cried out his name as she quivered on top of him, her juices spilling out onto his cock once more.
Knowing fully well she was probably aching between her thighs, San gripped her hips and helped her ride out her climax so the feeling she was going through wouldn't go away just yet. He made sure to be gentle, easing her up and down his cock with absolute tenderness. Once he knew she was satisfied, he pulled her of him and set her down on the floor before sitting up above her body. Just like before, he took hold of his cock and began pumping his cum out of his body, plastering it all across her inner thighs and even splattering some on her stomach. Looking up, Y/N had the same giggly expression as before.
"Does my cum really make you burst into a fit of giggles?" He questioned her.
"I can't help it. It's just... I don't know. Maybe it's the fact it's so dirty and wrong, and then to have you spread it all over my body." She explained, which made San chuckle.
"Maybe I should baptize your thighs with my cum more often." Although he was joking, Y/N was more than willing to take him up on that offer.
"Will you?" She looked up at him with puppy eyes.
San studied her for a moment, before a wicked idea popped in his brain.
"How about you let me baptize and stain that pretty face of yours?"
Getting a hint of what he meant, Y/N got up on her knees while San stood up right in front of her, cock in hand as he brought it up to her lips.
"I hope you weren't planning on going to morning services tomorrow because I'm going to keep you up til morning until your knees hurt."

(Technoblade x Reader)
Read me on AO3!
You are on a journey. But what if your journey goes differently from what you planned? You wanted loot but you found yourself a mate for life... Oops.
~~~~~~
Sweat dripped down your face, as you trudged through the nether. How any living being could live here was beyond you.  Your boots tore through the netherack, as you traveled. The heat was becoming unbearable, and the water in your canteen dried up as soon as you entered this place. As much as you hated the nether… It was a necessity to travel through, to get to the ever-elusive woodland mansion.
 You had only ever heard of the mansion, through random whispers, so you decided to buy a map from one of the villagers. Though… Traveling through the nether was difficult for you, and you were starting to run out of obsidian. Making portals to the overworld, only to find that you weren’t even close to your destination.
 Sighing, you place down your nether portal, lighting it. You took a peek at the hellish scenery behind you, and you step through, vowing that the first water source you saw would be dry after you got a hold on it. When you opened your eyes, you felt relief at the cool breeze on your skin. You stepped out of the portal, your eyes landing on a lake just a few feet ahead of you. Needless to say, you drank as much water as you could without getting sick, before you went on your merry way through the birch forest you found yourself in. You walked hours, not really wanting to go back into the nether but at this point… The map in your hand still didn’t make sense to you. You followed that magic icon on your map, but it never seemed to budge.
Sighing, you take out your obsidian once more, recreating the portal and lighting it. When you stepped into the portal you walked into the blue forest on the other side. You cursed at your surroundings, while the forests were very pretty… They just slowed you down with how dense some of them were. Enemies could use it to their advantage too. You tightened your bag around your shoulder and walked forward, boots digging into the warped nylium.
 You were cautious, hand twitching for your bow and arrow, at any and all sounds around you. Cutting the warped wart in your path you found yourself in a small clearing. It made you hesitate, but you didn’t see anything to be worried about, so your shrugged and kept moving. Making your way to the other side of the clearing you pulled your sword out to cut at the wart in your path. Well… You didn’t get far. The sound of a crossbow string being pulled back, hit your ears and you whirled around.
 Another… Human…? No… Not a human. But something in between that of a piglin and a human. Tangled long pink hair spilled down his shoulders, a golden crown adorned the top of his head. A tattered red piece of fabric pooled to the ground. He wore the garb of a piglin brute, and you could see the golden axe hang at his back. His golden eyes pierced through you, daring you to make any type of movement. You didn’t hesitate, you pulled your bow forth notching your arrow, and pulling back the string.
 It was only a few seconds, but it felt like a lifetime. The two of you stared each other down, through your weapons. Hearts pounding, you felt your shoulders rise and fall, your hand shook where he was calm. He finally spoke, and you didn’t understand him.
 Unbeknownst to you, the thing that caught his eye… Was the golden ring on your index finger, glinting at him. ‘Friend?’ He thought lowering his crossbow, you didn’t do the same. He could see you were scared, and he approached you slowly. Even if you yelled things at him that he couldn’t understand. He didn’t care, a measly arrow wouldn’t hurt him, not after all the fights with the other brutes he’d had to become their ruler. Hell, he didn’t even think you could hit him with how bad you were shaking.
 He reached out, pushing your bow down, as a way to show he was peaceful. You backed up into one of the trees, as your bow and arrow slipped from your hands. He knew you weren’t of his kind. But to submit so freely? He felt pity for you. You tried pushing away from him when he got too close, but he caught your hand with the ring on it. He fiddled with the tiny ring, almost enthralled with it. You felt his calloused hand cover yours and you could feel the heat rise up to your cheeks.
 “D-do you want it?” You said it to get him away from you, to appease him. “You can have i-it.” You grabbed the ring off your finger and held it out for him. “Here…” He looked back and forth between you and the ring, before he spoke again… He sounded as if he said, ‘For me?’, which caused you to nod your head at him…
 “Mate…”  It was really unfortunate that you couldn’t understand netherspeak… Because as soon as he fit the tiny ring on his pinky finger… It was sealed. The two of you were bound together forever… at least in the piglin world, and piglin’s never left their other half. After he was done studying the ring on his pinky, he got down on one knee, grabbing your hand pressing his lips to the back of your hand. You let out a squeak turning a shade darker before you bowed your head saying your goodbyes to him.
 What you didn’t think would happen was… that he would start following you… Wherever you went… You let out a sigh for the umpteenth time. He followed you like a puppy, but you couldn’t keep him. You had no idea what he said to you, he kept calling you something, it was a word you couldn’t pronounce yourself. To him you were his mate, and he would follow you anywhere.
 You found yourself panting before too long, the heat was starting to get to you again. You had to sit for a minute, and he sat with you, watching you pant, and rub the sweat from your face. You tried to fan yourself as your eyes finally settled on him. He seemed concerned for you, speaking his own language. Calling you his wife once more.
 “Why do you keep calling me that? What does it mean?” You said it more to yourself than to him, you sighed, “You can call me by my name…” You went through the motions with him teaching your name. He seemed to catch on quickly. He tried doing the same with you.
 “Technoblade?” You knew you were butchering it, but that’s what his name sounded like in Netherspeak to you. You just couldn’t get his name right. You opted to just keep calling him Techno. He seemed to have an easier time understanding you, learning from you. You pulled out a book from your bag, teaching him how to read your language, it was an old mythology book you had looted from a mineshaft a while back. It was a good thing to have if you were bored. You watched in awe as he seemed to grasp everything you were teaching him. He turned to a random page in the book.
 “”Persephone has eaten the fruit of the Underworld,” Hades said coolly, “she must return and rule it with me.”” You marveled at him, while he made some mistakes, that you helped him with, in reading, he really was a natural. When he didn’t know a word he asked you, to help, and he would relish in how close you got to him when you needed to lean over and read the word in the book.
 “Here Techno, you can keep this.” You said it slowly, “You can remember me every time you read from it.” He held the book close to his heart.
 “…” He watched you get up and dust yourself off. You waved your hand at him, and that caused him to get up himself, and follow you. You put your hand on his chest.
 “You have to stay Techno…” You tried reassuring him, he grabbed your hand at his chest his grip tightening on you. “I have to keep going.”
 “Stay.” His deep voice rumbled out, and his eyes pleaded with you. You weren’t sure you liked hearing him reply back in your own language… It made things harder now.
 “I can’t…” You whispered pulling your hand from his. You couldn’t bear this anymore. You made another portal on the spot; your lack of obsidian be damned, and you lit the portal. Techno growled throwing himself in between you and the portal, his golden axe at the ready. Was he… Protecting you from the portal? A few awkward seconds passed, and nothing happened, and you walked around him putting a hand on the portal. “Techno… This is my way home.”
 “Home?” You nodded explaining it to him. It took a few tries until he got it. “Home.” His hand landed on your shoulder. You shook your head, still not getting the fact that he had claimed you as his mate.
 “Your home is here Techno. I am not your home.” You stepped into the portal, and you gave him a pitiful look as he reached toward you. Hoping he wouldn’t follow, you disappeared through the portal in front of him. He panicked looking everywhere for you. His mate had suddenly vanished, and he hesitantly touched the purple substance in the portal, his hand going through. He stepped forward as you had. It was a rush, emotions hitting him all at once he fell into the overworld, his arms hitting the ground. Nausea hit him all at once, and he looked around at the foreign world before him, the world spun around him.
 “Oh gods… Techno.” He felt relief at your voice. You worried for him, usually when piglins left the nether, they zombified… You put your hand on his back, as you kneeled next to him. You didn’t want him to turn in to a zombie…
 Techno was fighting to keep consciousness; bile rose to the back of his throat and his mind started filling with voices. They were so loud… Why were they so loud? They spoke to him in netherspeak. Were these the voices of piglins who had already met their fate? Did you hear these voices too? His body burned in the sunlight, not to an extreme extent but it felt hotter than all those years in the nether. He could pick your voice out through the voices filling up his mind. His head hurt and he finally collapsed on the ground. You really didn’t know what to do. He reached for you.
 “Mate…” He weakly sputtered out reaching for your hand. You stood from him, as he passed out, disbelief lining your features. What did he say to you? You stepped away from him, turning from him. You didn’t make it five steps before you stopped to look back at him… You couldn’t just leave him there… You didn’t have the heart to.
 So… You pulled him to a shady area, and you watched over him. Relief flooded over you as you felt his pulse. He was well past the time of becoming zombified, at least for a normal piglin, could hybrids zombify? You had no idea. You just sat with him for hours, until he woke up.
 When his eyes cracked open you gave out a sigh of relief. He pulled you to him wrapping you in his arms as he warily looked around the two of you. It had gotten dark, so you set up camp for the night, building a fire for the both of you. You were in the middle of cooking baked potatoes for the two of you.
 “Home?” He asked, his chin resting on your head. You hesitated… Remembering how he had called you home earlier. Now you knew what he meant.
 “Not exactly.” You pushed yourself off of him, your eyes looking anywhere but him. “I’m far away from my home.” He seemed to process your words… He could understand you better, but only because a voice in the back of his mind translated your words to him…
 He just sat and watched you for a while, as you poked at the potatoes on the fire. He was curious, the food smelled delicious to him. It was then when you held out a potato for him to take, did he get to taste the cooked vegetable, let’s just say… He loved it. The expression on his face made you chuckle, and you offered yours up to him, after you put more potatoes on the fire. He wasn’t done with his own potato.
 “Take mine.” You offered to him. “I’ve got more coming.”
 “Eat.” His voice got serious. “Mate, eats first.”
 “Techno…” You sigh, “Why are you calling me your mate?” You looked in his golden eyes that softened every time they looked at you.
 “Gold,” He held his pinky finger up in the air showing the ring you had given to him. “Rit-ual,” He looked as if he was listening to someone, and they were telling him what to say. You were stunned at his words… Because you gave him gold… You were now his mate… The thought made your head spin.
 “Okay…” You didn’t know what to do at this point. Maybe you should have just left him? Maybe you wouldn’t be in this predicament. “If I hadn’t given you that ring, would you have killed me?” He looked away in thought.
 “Yes.” The thought of it made your heart sink. “I will pr-otect you always.” You couldn’t help the flutter in your chest… He had already gone this far for you… Leaving the nether was a huge risk and he was lucky he was hybrid, or he would have been a zombie.
 “What happens when a piglin loses their mate?” You asked. “Like if they die?” It took Techno a second to respond.
 “We join them.” He said it so casually, you bit your lip. “Nothing will happen.” His words brought a smile to your face.
 “Technoblade never dies eh?” You joked with him, and he nods.
 “Technoblade never dies.” He loved your name for him, and he would cherish it forever.
 ~~
 Technoblade didn’t know what he was doing wrong. He wanted so badly to give you the affection you deserved, but you shut him down almost immediately. He gave you the things you wanted, pretty ‘flowers’ as you called them. He made sure you were taken care of. He studied your reactions, and while you were resistant to his affections… He knew that he had an affect on you. He could read it on your face, or even smell when he aroused you. But you were still resisting him. He hated it.
 He continued trying to please you, and you were too wrapped up in the mansion to notice. It wasn’t like you ignored him, quite the opposite really… You just didn’t want to reciprocate feelings, at least not yet. But you loved teaching him what things were, teaching him how to speak properly. He listened to every word you taught him. You loved brushing through his pink tresses as well.
 The voices were immensely helpful at times, even if they were annoying. Telling him what to say and reminding him what things were when he couldn’t remember. But… They started calling for blood. They were aggressive… And he took his aggressions out when he hunted for meat, which helped, but his bloodlust always came back. He feared they would turn on you next.
 He followed you blindly, days turned into weeks and the end of your journey came. The two of you stood in front of the mansion. After all that time… You were now standing in front of the mansion. You were going to burn it to the ground after you were done. The two of you went through that mansion, killing enemies left and right. Well… Mostly Technoblade. You sat there on the top floor of the mansion as you watched him go ham.
 He was the most graceful fighter you had ever seen. He had grown on you, and you found yourself thinking about him more and more. You wanted to be with him, and in that moment, everything clicked for you. Taking down that mansion went quickly. You had gotten a few totems and you realized that… You didn’t even want the loot anymore. You wanted Techno. When the two of you searched the place through and through you lit it all on fire. The two of you stayed to watch it burn.
 “What do we do next?” Techno asked his golden eyes flicking to you.
 “We go home.”
 “Home?”
 “Yup.” You turned toward him, a blush spreading on your cheeks. “You’re my home now Techno.” You hoped to get loot from this trip, but as it turns out, that wasn’t the important part of this whole journey. You wrapped your arms around the back of his neck, stepping on your tip toes to boost yourself up. You pressed your lips to his, eyes fluttering closed as you felt his arms wrap around your waist to pull you flush up against him.
 This world was foreign to Techno, but kissing you felt like the most natural thing to him. You were his, and he was yours. No matter where you went, he would follow. He loved you, loved how you taught him things, loved how you brushed through his hair every morning. You set him free. Free from the fiery gates of hell as you put it.
 He wanted to explore this world with you. Even as you pulled back from him, he savored in the fact that you never pulled away from him. Not even as the two of you found yourself wrapped in each other’s arms for the night. It felt right. This world was where he was supposed to be because you were here. He was home.
The Sister’s Return
Summary: (Y/N) has reunited with her family with Dream’s looming threat...
Pairings: SBI x Sister! Reader
Warnings: Minor Fight scene, mentions of blood, mentions of past manipulation and present manipulation
A/N: This is a part two to The Sister’s Happiness
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(Y/N) hesitated outside the tundra home as Techno went up to the house first.
“You promise he’s not mad?” (Y/N) whispered to Tommy.
“He…was mad for a while,” Tommy admitted. “We all were. It took us all a little while after…what he did to me to forgive you.”
A crow swooped into the window as Techno looked at the younger pair as Ghostbur hummed floating into the house.
“Phil! We found little note!” Ghostbur announced, making (Y/N) wince hearing her brother’s old nickname for her.
“Play the song again please Wilbur?” The twelve-year-old girl begged as Wilbur looked down at his guitar.
“Mmh, only if you sing it with me. My throat’s getting tired.”
It was a lie. He just liked singing with his less annoying youngest sibling.
        “Ok.”
“Here we go little note.” He smiled, giving a small strum to his guitar.
“Even if he was mad, you can’t hide now.” Tommy huffed, following after.
(Y/N) looked down at Fran, who had followed them all the way, before walking up to the house with shaky legs. Before she even got to the door, Phil came out, a soft smile on his face.
“You’re ok.” Phil laughed quietly before coming over and taking her shoulders gently as she froze. “I’m so sorry angel. I-I should have been there and I’m sorry.”
“Daddy’s girl.” Tommy mocked from the top of the stairs.
He really hadn’t changed after everything.
“It’s ok Phil, I should be saying sorry, I—”
“No, it’s alright. Let’s get you inside.” Phil told her, looking around the area before putting a hand on her shoulder.
He led her in now, Fran trotting in behind them. Once the door closed, (Y/N) had a feeling she hadn’t felt since she had been with…Dream. She…felt at home…
Ghostbur floated as he hummed, taking some potions off a brewing stand as Techno rested his axe on the wall next to the door as he went to stop Tommy, who was already digging through his chests. Phil went to help with potion brewing as (Y/N) stood there.
She felt like a stranger though.
“Just because I’m letting you back in my house, does not mean you can dig through my things.” Techno scolded Tommy as he pulled him away.
“Come on blade. If I’m going to help, I need some gear.”
“You have your own gear and Dream’s gear!”
“Technically Tubbo has half his gear!” Tommy pointed at him.
“Come on Techno, don’t you want to help your favorite siblings?” (Y/N) grinned motioning to a sixteen-year-old Tommy, who put an arm around her.
“Yeah, big man! Just a few things for the poor?” Tommy motioned to a fifteen-year-old (Y/N).
Techno rolled his eyes at his siblings' shared mischievous grins. He knew he should have hung out with (Y/N) more, Tommy had been too much of an influence on her.
“You think there will be a fight?” (Y/N) asked, everyone, looking at her.
“Yes.” Phil nodded. “I got a message that…he wasn’t very happy you were moving on without him around.”
“You can say his name. It doesn’t affect me as much anymore.” (Y/N) told him quietly.
“Good because Dream is a bastard and we’re going to beat him again.” Tommy cheered. “The Sleepy Bois and their little sister are back!”
(Y/N) smiled lightly and Tommy froze slightly, surprised by the smile. “Yeah, we are back.”
Tommy stood there before grinning as he came over, throwing an arm around her shoulders.
        “Yeah! Look out bitches!”
        “Fucking pricks.” (Y/N) followed suit.
“We’ll show them who’s the best!”
        “And have whatever we want!”
(Y/N) actually gave a laugh after they recited the bit they always use to do. Tommy was grinning widely. He had missed his sister.
“Fuck yeah!” He punched the air.
“Alright you little bastards, get your gear somewhere you can get to it quickly,” Techno told them.
“I got an ender chest in my old room, come on.” Tommy let go of (Y/N) before sliding down the ladder.
She followed after him, Fran making home next to the fireplace.
“We’re not going to actually make (Y/N) fight with us, are we?” Phil asked, not wanting his youngest to be around the masked man again.
“No. Ghostbur,” Techno said, the ghost zoning back into the conversation.
        “Yes, Technoblade?” Ghostbur smiled.
“Why don’t you tell (Y/N) what you remember? She hasn’t seen you in a while.”
“Oh yes! That’s a very good idea Technoblade!” He nodded before following after the younger pair.
“You got crows scouting?” Techno asked.
“I’m not idiot Techno.” Phil gave a joking scoff. “I’ve been doing this longer than you.”
        “Good. Then let’s get ready.”
(Y/N) raised an eyebrow around the odd room as Tommy went to the ender chest, pulling out a few pieces of gear.
“So, this is where you went when you went missing.” (Y/N) muttered.
Tommy paused, gripping the edge of the chest lightly. “Please don’t talk about that.”
“Oh shit.” She put her hands over her mouth. “I’m sorry Tommy. I—Shit.”
“It’s fine, you didn’t do anything during that time it was all Dream,” Tommy said, putting his armor and weapons on his bed. “We just need to be able to read each other again too I suppose.”
“Well…after everything you still seem like you so I don’t think that will be too hard.” (Y/N) tried to lighten the tone.
“I’ve changed a lot! I’m a bigger man.” Tommy crossed his arms at his sister.
        “Sure.” She teased.
“Alright, listen here you prick.” Tommy started until Ghostbur floated down.
“(Y/N)! We haven’t talked in so long, we should talk.” Ghostbur said to her excitedly.
“I uh. Sure. If you want to Ghostbur, I just…” She looked at Tommy’s gear. “We got a thing to possibly do.”
“Well, if it’s only possible we have some time.” Ghostbur grinned as he took her hand, making her shiver at the cold contact.
“Oi. Ghostbur, let her get her things first.” Tommy told off the ghost.
        “Oh, ok. Get your things.”
(Y/N) went into the ender chest, taking out her armor, bow, and sword.
“Is that your old bow?” Tommy looked at it surprised.
“Yeah…I put a mending enchant on it before we got your discs back.” (Y/N) grinned. “So, it’s still in action.”
“…I think it will be perfect for fighting Dream with again.”
She paused before nodding; the grin still wide on her face. “I think so too. We’ll fuck up his shit again.”
Tommy nodded, deep in thought for a minute.
“Hey, Ghostbur, wait up there for her, she’ll be there in a minute,” Tommy told the ghost.
        “Ok!”
He floated up the ladder again and Tommy shifted awkwardly for a moment.
“Did you…did you like doing all that stuff with him?”
(Y/N) gripped onto the bow, taking a shaky breath.
“I thought I did. I told myself I did…but every time I saw your face…I hated it. But he told me…he told me it was for the better and I believed him.”
“We’re what’s best for you because you’re our family, and don’t forget it, alright prick?” Tommy crossed his arms, looking away.
“Thanks, Tommy.” She smiled lightly. “I won’t.”
She went to leave but he stopped her again.
“Hey, if you…want to talk about it too, I get it,” Tommy said quietly.
“I’ll keep that in mind.” She nodded.
Then she finally went up the ladder, Tommy passing through the room quickly to go to the main room, and Ghostbur held out a piece of blue to her the second she got up.
“Oh, uh, thank you.” She took it.
“There’s so much to talk about! Techno said we should talk about what I remember. I remember a few things about you!” He grinned, clapping his hands together. “You use to sing music for me and I wouldn’t make fun of you for being a child because you could be really mature.”
“Oh…you don’t remember a lot of things?” She asked, sitting.
“No, but that’s ok. I remember a lot of happy things!”
“So…you don’t remember Dream and me?”
“Mmh, I remember thinking about how nice it was to see you next to Dream when we were making L’Manberg, even though I thought about how unhappy you looked.”
(Y/N) stared at the wall as she stood to the back of the group. Wilbur was at the top, looking down at her in shock and she looked away.
“I would like to know though Dream, how you managed to get my little sister on your side.”
“She saw past your stupidity.” Dream answered simply.
He’ll just use you for power.
Dream’s voice echoed in her head, making her jaw clench.
“Alivebur didn’t think you and Dream were very good friends. He often scolded Tommy if he brought it up.” Ghostbur hummed, before whispering to her. “Dream is a bit of a bad guy.”
“Yeah…yeah, he is Ghostbur. That’s why me and him aren’t friends.”
“Oh, that’s a shame, but now you can hang out with us again!”
(Y/N) thought about the times she had caught Wilbur’s glare across a battlefield or simply across the open area. She had thought he hated him but had he suspected something was wrong?
        …
“She’s a bitch now! Fuck her!” Tommy shouted at Wilbur.
“Don’t say that about her Tommy.” Wilbur snapped. “She…looks so unhappy. Dream holds too much power, we can’t get to her easy, we need to figure something out to get to her.”
        …
“What the hell did you guys let happen to (Y/N)?” Techno motioned to above the ravine where Pogtopia was stationed.
They had just run and his own little sister had just tried to hunt them down with the rest of the mob of Manberg citizens. Her downfall though was Techno had taught her himself. Yet, there was just such a cold look in her eyes…
“She did it to herself.” Tommy scoffed.
“I don’t know, I haven’t been able to talk to her in a few years. I can’t get her alone no matter what I tried, that’s not the problem right now.” Wilbur paced.
Techno thought it was a huge fucking problem though and decided he needed to figure out what was going on, on his own.
        …
Techno heard the crow before it flew through the window. It gave a flap of its wings to Phil and Phil nodded, looking outside.
        “He’s close by.”
The pair had managed to get (Y/N) alone and they had seen through the façade when they talked to her and tried to subtly get it out of her. They thought they could get another chance when she left but then Butcher Gang came and Dream visited Techno’s home.
Sure, they had been mad about her betraying their trust by telling people where Techno’s home was but when Tommy came to them, they weren’t mad for long. They were the first to understand what must have happened to her as well.
Phil put on his last bit of armor as Tommy came up to them, paling slightly.
        “He’s here already?”
“He’s close.” Techno nodded. “Get ready, we’re not taking (Y/N).”
Tommy hesitated but nodded. He didn’t want Dream near his sister again. As the young boy put all his gear on, Techno picked up his axe with his crossbow on his back and Phil grabbed his own bow. He managed his gear on when Techno saw Dream walking through the snow.
        “Let’s go.” Techno nodded.
The three went out, weapons at the ready and Dream grinned behind his mask.
“Sorry Dream. I don’t do charity cases for the homeless, gonna need you to leave.” Techno told him, shouldering his axe.
“Are we really going to go through this again Techno? Are you going to talk to your voices again too?” Dream laughed. “I know you have what I want. So, either, send her out now, or I’ll kill all of you.”
“You can try, you green bastard, but I finished you once! I’ll do it again!” Tommy shouted.
“But here I am Tommy! You can’t stop me. I got out of prison and now here I am. Back again!” Dream took a step forward and Phil aimed his bow. “You won’t, no, you can’t kill me, Tommy. Come on, we were friends, weren’t we?”
Techno put the axe in front of his brother as Phil shot the arrow in front of Dream when Tommy’s breathing picked up slightly.
“You’re not getting anyone today,” Phil told him. “So, we’re going to give you one chance to say you failed and leave.”
Dream merely smirked behind his mask before going straight for Techno. With ease, Techno blocked the sword with his arm, the sword sparking on his armor before Techno swung his axe right for Dream’s side and the masked man jumped back.
“A fight it is then.” Techno grinned, the voices going into a chant.
Tommy pulled his sword and Phil switched for his sword as well. The fight was on.
        …
“What else do you remember?” (Y/N) asked the ghost. “About…me.”
“You were an awful lot like Tommy but you could calm down and be little note with me.” Ghostbur smiled. “It was always nice seeing you and Tommy play together though. And when you two become friends with Tubbo, it was meant to be really. It always made Alivebur smile and it makes me smile too!”
“It seems a lot of things make you smile though Ghostbur.” She laughed quietly.
“But there’s so many wonderful things we get to do and see!”
(Y/N) smiled lightly. Ghostbur seemed to be all the good things about Wilbur…but she missed the bad stuff of her brother…
Both the ghost and she jumped though when they heard the sound of fireworks.
“That doesn’t sound good,” Ghostbur muttered, taking out a piece of blue.
(Y/N) leapt up, as she now could hear the cawing of the crows and metal on metal. Dream was here!
“Shit, shit, shit.” She panicked, throwing her armor on.
        “(Y/N),” Ghostbur mumbled.
She looked at the ghost of her brother as she put her helmet on. A panic was in her eyes but there was the spark of a fire that brought good memories to Ghostbur. Memories of when she’d practice sword fighting and archery with Technoblade or when she’d scream at Tommy’s bullies or when she was taking lessons with Alivebur to learn guitar. He smiled lightly as he saw the real (Y/N) that had been missing.
        “I love you.”
“…I love you too Ghostbur.” She gave a light smile before grabbing her one arrow, sword strapped to her side.
She got outside to see Techno loading his crossbow with another firework as Tommy was dodging a sword swing from Dream who had a cracked mask with slightly singed clothing while Phil was dashing to go in for a low blow. Everyone had minor wounds as armors had dents and scratches. (Y/N) felt her breath catch in her throat as she gripped onto her bow before raising it.
“I never throw away my shot.” She muttered before letting the arrow fly.
It caught Dream’s mask and it flew off his mask. (Y/N)’s arrow reappeared on the bow as she pulled back, her infinity enchantment doing its work to bring her arrow back as though it was never gone even though it pinned Dream’s mask to the ground.
        “STOP!” She commanded.
“(Y/N)!” Dream grinned ducking from Tommy’s sword swing before knocking the boy down, winding him as he parried Phil’s attack, pushing the older man back. “I’ve been looking for you everywhere! Where have you been my friend?”
        “Drop your sword!” She demanded.
“(Y/N), come on. It’s me, Dream.” He smiled.
She clenched her jaw as Techno looked between the pair as the other two of her family stayed where they were. Then she changed the direction of her bow and it snagged his pant leg, pinning the fabric to the ground as another arrow appeared in her bow.
“Leave my family alone.” She told him.
“Your family?” Dream laughed. “They haven’t tried to talk to you in almost three years! Now, they thought they had power over the two of us because I was locked away; they tried to use you! I broke out to save you.”
His voice was creeping back into the back of her mind as she gripped onto her bow.
“YOU BASTARD!” Tommy’s voice broke through the voice of Dream.
Dream hissed as Tommy snagged a weak point in his armor, drawing blood.
“How dare you say I’d use my sister!” He shouted, pushing the man back, jumping back as Techno quickly aimed his crossbow.
Dream dove out of the way as the firework went off where he had been.
“I won’t let you use my sister like a puppet.” Techno put his crossbow away to replace it with his axe.
An arrow landed in front of Dream’s face and (Y/N) pointed her bow to the ground.
“I never miss, so take the friendly warning. Leave and never speak to me again. Leave this land.”
        “You…you can’t…” Dream gave a laugh.
“She can do whatever she wants mate,” Phil said, all three of them standing in front of (Y/N). “And you’ll have to go through us to even think about her. I suggest you leave.”
“You’ll regret this.” Dream spat at them before getting up and ender pearling away.
A weight was gone as (Y/N) teared up when the three looked over at her.
“Oh dear, you need some blue.” Ghostbur came out now and gave the girl a piece of blue.
“Thank you.” She sniffled wiping away her tears.
Tommy came over putting an arm around one side of her shoulders as Techno went on the other side as Phil put a hand on her head.
        “We won!” Tommy cheered.
        She had missed her family…

Blissfield Butcher x reader
Requested: “hi! I recently watched Freaky and I love your Blissfield Butcher stories! 💕 I was wondering if I could request a fluff story (or smut if you're comfortable) of a shy reader confessing her feelings for him? Thank you so much!” -By Anon
Warning: Non, fluff
(Hello! I am so sorry for the long wait. I hope this is to your liking. I wanted to do smut but I didn’t have much motivation for smut but I did do some fluff. Its not a whole bunch so if this sucks just let me know.)
*****
For the short amount of time you had known him, you always had feelings for him. Though having feelings for a murderer is wrong in every way you still somehow grew feelings for him. Of course, you never told anyone about this "friendship", if you had told someone then you'd be considered crazy. Crazy was exactly what you were. You loved a murderer for Christ's sake. You even thought about what he would say, how he would react, what he would do if you were to tell him. None of the outcomes in your mind came out good though. And every time you went over how you could say it, it always out all jumbled up and in a mess.
You had been at home all day long. You had woken up pretty early. Got some coffee. watched some of your gfavorite movies and the occasional episode of a show you had to get caught up on. You had passed quite alot of time. You had decided to get up and do something productive. Like some house work. Clean up the house up wouldn’t hurt. You had just got done sweeping and gathering the dishes that were forgotten on you coffee table. You walked over to the sink and went to turn the hot water on.
Just then you hear a knocking on your back door. You only knew one person who came to your house through the back door. You went over to the door and before you could grab the knob you noticed the tall shadow in the glass. You only knew one tall ass person. You straightened your clothes out and proceeded to open the door. And there he stood. He looked the same as he always did and somehow didn't smell this time. "Well hello, gorgeous!" He says as he walks in past you. You smiled and walked past him to the living room. He had been calling you gorgeous for a little while now and it was only now that the butterflies had simmered down a bit. Though any compliment from him was like gold for you. He rarely did it but when he did it was like hell froze over.
Just then you hear his heavy footsteps carrying him into the living room. As he does a news report goes up about yet another Blissfield butcher murder. You look behind you and see him looking at a trinket on your coffee table. "And of course, you come here to hideout." He looks up to you and shrugs "Do I hear you complaining? Because if I remember correctly you said I could come by anytime." You roll your eyes "Oh yeah I forgot. Especially after you've murdered someone. I mean why not?" He tilts his head and smirks "Would you rather me leave? Go and risk getting caught by those, pigs?" He says as he starts toward the front door. "Wait! Jeez, don't get all butt hurt I'm just teasing you." He raises an eyebrow at this. "What? Can't I tease someone I like-" You slap a hand to your mouth and go wide-eyed. You had messed up. It was all fun in games till of course you ended up saying the wrong thing at the wrong time.
He walked closer now, stalking you almost like he would his victims. When he's standing mere inches from you he brings his hand up under your chin and makes you look up at him. He smirks and leans down close to your ear. "I like you too." He then leans back only to come back in to kiss you. It was unexpected. All the scenarios that would play in your mind of how this would go down. This was not one of them. His lips were chapped but claimed your own. His other hand was holding your upper arm. When he pulled away your eyes were still closed. Trying to understand what just happened and still trying to savor the feeling. He chuckled. "See I knew you like me being around. Now you have another reason to have me around." You open your eyes and raise a brow "Oh yeah, and what would that be?" "Well, id like to think this is your way of telling me, you want to be with me. And I couldn't agree more." He says looking down at your lips again. You smile and blush as he does. He leans in and kisses your cheek instead. Making you turn away. "Come on now. Don't get all shy on me now y/n." "I'm not shy, I'm just happy." He smiles this time grabs your hand and pulls you over to the couch in your living room. He sits down and pats the seat next to him. "Let's watch something until I have to leave, yeah?" He didn't have to ask twice till you were already sitting next to him flipping through to the movies. When you finally picked one, he wrapped his arm around your shoulder and pulled you close. You felt so happy and so content. So safe and secure in his arms. You didn't want this to end. This was your dream come true.
*****
(Hello again, I hope you liked this and if you did any kind of feedback would be amazing. I hope you have an amazing day/night and stay safe out there in the world.)

Speak Now
This is a purely self-indulgent fic cause apparently that’s how I process emotions. So do with that what you will. But anyways.
It's been months since the last time Sirius and Remus saw each other. But in a week they leave for college on opposite sides of the country. They reunite one last time, to say goodbye and confess some secrets.
THURSDAY
Sirius (8:52pm): hey when do you leave for school?
Remus (8:55pm): The 26th, why?
Sirius (8:55pm): oh good i leave the 25th
Sirius (8:56pm): i’m trying to see everyone before i leave. wanna hang out this week?
Remus stared down at his phone for a long moment. He and Sirius hadn’t seen each other since graduation, since Sirius had left the week after, traveling across the country to visit family against his will. They hadn’t talked much since then, and Remus couldn't figure out why. But he missed him.
The fact that he was also in love with him was unrelated, of course.
Remus (8:58pm): Sure
***
They set plans for that Saturday evening, at Remus' house in the country. His parents were away, up the coast for a friend's wedding. Secretly, Remus was glad they wouldn't be there; it guaranteed fewer questions. Plus, he liked having the house to himself every once in a while and, after all summer with his mom working from home, he was glad for a little peace and quiet. Not that Sirius Black could ever be described as peaceful or quiet.
The knock on the door came far too soon. With a deep breath, Remus steeled himself and opened the door.
Sirius stood before him, very much real and not just a figment of his imagination.
"Remus!" he exclaimed, and hugged him tightly. "I've missed you."
"Missed you too," Remus muttered into Sirius' shoulder, subtly breathing in the familiar smell of fresh air, leather, and his mother's perfume.
Sirius pulled back with a wide grin, and Remus was frozen all over again. He'd thought it would be easier this time, that time and space would have lessened the want in his heart. But it only seemed to make it worse, as he asked how Sirius was and he immediately launched into a story.
It was like no time had passed at all. Sirius talked and suddenly Remus was 16 again, realizing he was in love with his best friend and not knowing what to do about it. It wasn't easier at all, it was harder. It was so much harder. But he pasted on that mask, pasted on a smile, and pretended he wasn't falling apart inside.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?" Remus demanded some time later, watching Sirius trying to start a fire, and completely butchering it in the process.
Sirius looked up from his pile of sticks with a guilty smile. "Starting a fire?"
"That is so not how you do that."
"Okay then Mr. Expert, how do you start a fire then?"
"I'll show you," Remus snipped, and he snatched the matches from Sirius' hand, fighting back a fond smile. The banter always had come easy to them.
Carefully, Remus cleared the fire pit of ashes and coals before grabbing a few newspapers from the nearby pile.
"You have to shake them out and then crumple 'em back up," he murmured, demonstrating. Sirius watched, smiling. Once the newspapers were crumpled, Remus set them in the middle of the pit, the taking a few small sticks from Sirius' hand. "Now you use the kindling." He began laying it down across the paper. "And create a pyramid. Once you have that done, you can add some bigger pieces." Sirius readily handed over a few larger sticks, and Remus placed them next, careful not the knock the whole thing over.
"Can I light it?" Sirius asked eagerly.
"Sure. Make sure to light the paper."
Sirius gave him a nod. "Yes sir."
Remus just rolled his eyes. But Sirius did as instructed, and soon they had a crackling fire going. Once the wood had caught, Remus added a few logs to keep it going and sat back down beside Sirius.
"How'd you learn to do that?" Sirius asked. The night was quiet around them, save the pops from the fire and the hum of insects.
"My dad taught me when I was little."
Sirius seemed to hear the sadness tinging his voice. "D'you miss him a lot?" he asked. Grief wasn't something Sirius was familiar with, not this kind. He didn't care about his family. Not that Remus could blame him. But still, he'd done everything right when Remus' father had passed six years before.
"Yeah," Remus admitted, voice soft. "I wish he was here. Big things happening, y'know?"
"Yeah. I can't believe we're leaving."
"Part of me wasn't sure we'd ever make it."
"I'm gonna miss you."
Remus looked over at Sirius. He stared resolutely at the fire, shadows dancing across his face. "Me too."
"Remus," Sirius started, "I need you to know something."
"Okay?"
"Okay." Sirius took a deep breath. He didn't look away from the fire. "You remember I had a girlfriend last summer?"
Remus frowned. "Yeah?"
"Right. Well. That was fake. I'm actually gay."
"Oh." Remus had not expected that. Although, in truth, he'd suspected for a while. One did not look at Sirius Black and think "straight", generally speaking, of course. But Sirius didn't need to know that. "Well. That's great, Sirius. Thanks for telling me."
Sirius just swallowed. "Right. Yup. That's not what I need to tell you."
Now Remus was getting concerned. Sirius never acted like this; the last time he'd been this squirrely, Remus had found out his mother abused him. He tried not to panic. They may not have talked in months before this but he'd never stopped caring.
"Sirius, what's going on?"
"I like you," he blurted. Then, "Shit."
"Oh."
It was all Remus could think to say. He'd imagined this happening many times, imagined what he'd say, what Sirius would say. He'd thought up a hundred different scenarios. But none of them had prepared them for his fantasies becoming real.
"I'm not expecting anything else back, obviously," Sirius rambled. "I just wanted you to know. Clear the air. I-"
"Sirius, stop."
He shut his mouth with a snap.
"I'm not upset at you." It was all he could think to say. Sirius didn't say anything. Remus swallowed. "And I... I like you, too. A lot."
Sirius stared at him. "That's not funny."
Remus felt his heart begin to shatter. "It's not a joke."
"That's not funny?" His voice broke.
"C'mere."
Conflicting emotions flashed across Sirius' face, but he stood and walked over. Wordlessly, Remus opened his arms and Sirius sank into them.
"I'm not kidding, love," he whispered. "I've liked you for like, three years now. I was just too scared to say anything."
Sirius pulled back and looked Remus in the eye. He didn't say anything for a long time, just looked. Remus couldn't look away, mesmerized by the emotion in those grey eyes. But after a while, Sirius leaned forward again and kissed him.
It felt as though the whole world stopped and started again in a single instant. It felt like fireworks went off. It felt like everything had righted itself.
The kiss was by no means perfect; it was messy and wet and awkward. But Sirius tasted like smoke and vanilla, and he was holding Remus close. And when he kissed Remus a second time, more sure this time, it was even better.
Remus didn't know long they spent like that, kissing in the fading daylight, the fire crackling along beside them. All he knew was that Sirius was warm on his lap, and his mouth soft and sure. He didn't ever want to stop. Luckily for him, Sirius didn't seem to want that either.
"Stay tonight?" Remus asked in a whisper, and Sirius just nodded.
***

Sandor Clegane x reader (Reason 1)
Tumblr media
Requests are open
Warnings: Death, Murder, hanging, swearing and prostitution
Word count: 1230
Part 2 (Reason 2)
Part 3 (Reason 3)
Part 4 (Reason 4)
Master list
A daughter of a whore, raised by nuns, became a thief, ran away to Braavos and was trained as an assassin. That just about summed you up.
You had fought your whole life to get to where you were, to prove you were worthy enough to be apart of a world filled with shitty people. Despite all of that, you still found yourself  laughing at the situation you found yourself in.
"(Y/n) fucking Hill"
Your head shot up at hearing that name. You hadn't gone my Hill since you went to Braavos.
"Ah, so you know our little sparrow do ya Clegane?" Thoros said nudging your side as he sat beside you.  When he saw the look you gave to the former guard he dropped his joking demeanour.
"The Fuck you doing here?"
Sandor stared at you for a moment before turning to the 3 men behind you. The men were stood on 3 small barrels, hands tied behind their backs and a rope around their necks.
"Chasing them. You?"
"Hanging them" Berec retorted.
"They're our men. Or they were. They attacked a nearby septor and murdered the villagers, why do you want them?" Thoros asked.
"Same reason. I was helping build it. They killed a friend of mine."
"You have friends?"
"Not any more" Sandor said, his eyes darted to you for a second before walking up to your group "They're mine."
"It's the brotherhoods good name they've dragged through the dirt-"
"Fuck your name. They're mine," Sandor said through gritted teeth. " I've killed you once before Beric and I'm happy to do it again."
At the corner of your eye, you saw another one of your group stretch his bowstring and aim an arrow at him.
"Drop the arrow," You said clearly so that everyone could hear and stepped closer to him.
"He's not going to hurt US... you can have one of them."
The look you got wasn't one of surprise or shock. He was thinking. The other men around you weren't surprised at your boldness, you'd been with them for years and had quickly earnt the respect you were given.
"... Two" Sandor said looking at you.
After a moment of silent deliberation, you nodded to him in agreement.
Just as Sandor was about to plant his axe in one of the traitors heads, Thoros stopped him.
"We're not butchers..."
"Speak for yourselves" you mumbled under your breath with a smile.
"... We hang them"
With an annoyed look, Sandor replied "Hanging? All over in an instant. Wheres the punishment in that?"
"They die-"
"Thay all bloody die. Except for that one" Sandor said motioning to the one-eyed man behind him. " I'll only gutt one of em"
By this point, you had taken a few steps away to get a better view of the scene. The men that were about to die were part of your group once but their twisted sense of right and wrong had lead them to do awful things. They deserved what they were about to get and thankfully others thought the same.
"No" Beric said.
"Chop off one hand?"
"We gave you 2 of the 3 out of the respect of your loss. That's generous."
With a sigh, Sandor dropped his axe " You're all a bunch of Nancies... There was a time I would've killed all 8 of you just to gutt these 3."
"You're getting old Clegane" you chuffed
Suddenly, Sandor kicked the barrel out from under one of the man's feet, sending him falling a short distance to his slow death.
"He's not" Sandor said doing the same to another of the man.
That's when you moved to stand in front of the last man. His eyes wide with fear. You'd admit that you enjoyed watching the fear grow as you let kicked away his barrel too.
When you got back to camp, Beric told Sandor that he was born a fighter and no matter where he went a fight would always find him. How everything happens for a reason Bla bla bla.  It was true that Sandor was a fighter, he had gutted his first man when he was 12 years old and didn't regret it, but that didn't make him a fighter. What made him a fighter was how he continued to live his life and grow stranger with every passing day and by the way he looked he had continued to do so. Beric also said that Sandor would be useful in the brotherhood. How it needed strong men to help is win the upcoming war and how he could help more people he's hurt.
You saw something change in him at that moment. It could have been how he sat or the look in his eye, you weren't sure... but something did change.
That night when everyone was supposed to be asleep, you stayed awake to keep the fire lit. While stoking the flames, thoughts swam around your head like a fish in a shallow pond. The flames shone like a beacon in the pitch-black forest. The occasional snore and animal sounds echoed off of the trees. The stars above were the only thing for the company.
At the corner of your eye, you saw someone lumbering their way towards you. You weren't scared, you knew he wouldn't hurt you.
"Cant sleep Clegane?"
"Not with all these cunts snoring like dying pigs"
"It good to see you haven't changed" You said, eyes gazing into the fire.
"and there's no point in trying to save face, I know you're still angry with me,"
"And for good fucking reason. You kissed me took the gold and pissed off to Braavos the first chance you got." he quietly seethed. when he put it like that it did sound like an awful thing to do.
With a sighed "Sandor, what am I?"
"I'm not playing guessing games (Y/n)"
"What am I? I'm a bastard, born to a whore and gods know who. No money, no parents, hell not even a name. From the moment I was born, I had to fight for myself because no one else would. I pissed off because after your father died and that brother of yours became the lord, you became the princes bitch in the red keep. There was nothing for me in Westeros, so I left,"
"And what of that kiss then ey? You left that out of your little rant" he said cockily.
You looked at him without a speck of fear in your eyes. His whole life he had never met anyone who looked at him like that and it rendered him speechless.
"That kiss was the only thing of worth I could've given you to remember my by. I knew full well that if I died you'd be the only one in Westeros to remember me ... we were friends once Clegane and you couldn't even tell me you were leaving so I did it first." You said taking a deep swig of ale from a pouch on your hip and then passing it to him.
"Was that the only reason?" He asked taking the pouch from you.
"No. but its the only one I'm brave enough to admit to right now" You joked earning a smile from the man.

81 years had passed since Bucky had last gone dancing, and he felt as though his eardrums were going to burst. Adrenaline shot through his veins, the alcohol having no affects. Sam nodded his head with the beat and Bucky groaned. Is this really what music passed for nowadays?
It took several punches to the arm for Bucky to realize that Sam was trying to get his attention, and he whipped his head around so fast they almost knocked each other out. Sam yelled and smacked Bucky’s metal arm, before screaming in pain.
‘Serves his right for dragging me to this hell’, thought Bucky. He watched as Sam pulled out a photograph and waved it in front of his face, “We’re looking for this girl. She’s undercover. Locate her and contact me on coms.”
Bucky yanked the photo out of the air and stared at, memorizing the girl’s face. He vaguely remembered her, but he didn’t know why. Her Y/H/C hair was tied in a lose ponytail, with striking Y/E/C eyes and a distinctive smile. Her arms were wrapped out Sam’s shoulder, while Steve’s arm rest on her shoulder. Bucky tried to ignore the youth of his friend and chose to focus on the fact that the girl was pretty. The natural kind of pretty that all the girls wanted but compensated with layers of makeup. Bucky tucked the photo into his jacket with slight reluctance. It was the type of photo where he would have cut the girl out and tucked it into his army uniform, reminding himself what he was fighting for.
The pair separated, Sam heading towards the dancefloor and Bucky the bar. A beacon of escape, Bucky decided. Sam had said no drinking on the job, but fuck Sam, if he wanted to drink, then he would. Bucky was immune to the addictive buzz anyway.
The bar was empty aside from a man in a suit at the end, but he seemed a little distracted, a girl on his lap, giggling at something that probably wasn’t very funny. The girls in this club knew how to make their living. Bottles were stacked almost floor high, dirty looking glasses and a few dripping taps. A girl stood at the end, scrubbing a smeared flute with a grubby cloth. Bucky tapped his fingers and she sauntered over, “What can I get ya, pal? Looking a bit lost there…”
“Well, I don’t really fit in. You see a lot of faces here?”
“As a bartender? More than I care to count. Need help with something?”
Bucky pulled the photo out, folded out Sam and Steve, and slid it across the wet bar, “I’m looking for this girl. Have you seen her?”
The girl lifted it up gingerly, letting it drip. As she analyzed it, Bucky gave himself a chance to look at her, weighing her up. Her hair was black with green highlights, ending on her shoulders. Her eyes were the same as the girl’s in the photo but the smile, it wasn’t the same. This wasn’t who they were looking for.
The girl slid the photo back, “She’s pretty, but I’ve never seen her. I think I’d remember her if I did.”
Bucky tucked the photo back into his jacket. The girl straightened up, a crease forming across her brow, “Are you sure you don’t want anything? A dry martini?” the girl looked up at him almost expectantly, but Bucky shook his head, “I’m good. I’ll probably be here till closing time, so if you see her, pull me over.”
 -
“We can sink no lower…” mumbled Bucky, the toilet creaking dangerously below him. Sam hushed him quickly, “The girl is here. We have to stay ’till we find her.”
“And that means hiding in the toilets?” snapped Bucky, meriting another hush from Sam. Bucky frowned, “Hey, this is your fault! This was your idea! She never turned up, we could have come back another day, but no, we’re here, hiding in this hell hole.”
A thump from outside silenced him. Carefully, Sam left his cubicle, closely followed by Bucky, and propped open the door, enough for them to see and hear what was happening.
“Club’s closed boys. You need to leave…” the voice of the bartender echoed around the room. Several guffaws responded, “We weren’t satisfied with our service.”
“Not my problem. I run the bar, not the brothel.”
“I don’t think Batroc will be very happy with that. He employs you, does he not?”
“Yes…” the bartender’s voice trailed off nervously, “What are you going to do to me?”
“Show you what we do to unwilling workers. Grab her and strap to the table… That one, in the corner…”
Without hesitation, Bucky grabbed onto Sam’s arm, mouthing, “I can’t listen to this. We have to help her!”
Sam’s hand flew over Bucky’s mouth, “We’re not here for her… Stay put!”
Bucky pushed against Sam, trying to free himself from the Falcon’s grip, but Sam held him fast. A brief squabble broke out, Bucky and Sam fighting against each other, until Bucky used his metal hand to break free, rushing through the door to shocking sight.
The bartender wiped her lip, staring down at three men, “Touch me again, and I will fucking kill you.”
“Fuck…” thought Bucky, ‘I should not be this turned on…’
“Hey, pretty boy? Pretty boy? Pay attention to me!” the bartender’s voice snapped Bucky out of his daydream, “Meet me in the alley in 5 minutes. Bring Sam.”
 -
The dingy alley smelt of piss and sick, but the bartender seemed unperturbed, flinging her arms around Sam’s neck, “Oh, I’ve missed you Birdie!”
“I’ve missed you too! We’ve been looking for you all night! Where have you been?”
“At the bar! Your friend approached me, I thought he would recognize me, but no, and when I said the words, he didn’t reply with the code!” the bartender shot Bucky an angry glance. Bucky snapped, “What words? I wasn’t told of any words. And why would I recognize you? I’ve never met you in my life! This is so stupid!”
The bartender huffed and pulled on her hair until it come off in her hand, revealing Y/H/C underneath. The black hair was a wig. Next, she pulled out the photo from Sam’s pocket and pulled up to her face and copied the smile. Bucky saw the resemble immediately, “It’s you…”
“My name’s Agent Y/N L/N, I’m undercover here. You probably don’t remember me, we didn’t really meet, but I helped Steve and Sam disappear in 2016. I saw you from a distance, but you were kinda wiped out, no metal arm and longer hair. As for the words, I was told to offer you a dry martini, and you should’ve responded with ‘I don’t like my martini’s dry’.”
“I hate martini’s altogether! And I gave you a photo of yourself!”
“I’ve had 4 people give me a photo of myself today alone! The people after you are on your case!” Y/N’s chest heaved with anger and frustration, “Baltroc will be in the old Sokovian church tomorrow at midday. He’s made several attempts to take over the Sokovian people after the country fell with Ultron. We’ve tried to enlist the help of Wanda Maximoff, but we’ve had no response.”
“She’s gone MIA… No one knows where she is…” responded Sam slowly, “If what you say is true, not that I am doubting you, then we need to get moving now. You are relieved of your duty. Where will you head?”
“To New York. I’ll go to the compound.”
“Well, I’m looking forward to seeing you there…” Sam pulled Y/N into a tight hug before turning to Bucky, “We leave in 10.”
Bucky nodded his head and looked down at Y/N, “I’m sorry I didn’t recognize you.”
“Not your fault. I’m sorry I lost my temper.”
“Not your fault…” Bucky shifted awkwardly. Y/N smiled slightly, “Do you miss him?”
Bucky’s eyes widened almost comically. He hadn’t expected that from her, the mention of Steve. He noticed the way her shoulders slumped at the question, her eyes losing their sparkle slightly. He wondered how the snap had affected her, and, for the first time, wondered what an Agent like her was doing here, in the burned ruins of Sokoiva. He tried to match her smile, “Everyday… It’s hard… I know that he is still alive, but the whole world believes him dead, and I don’t actually see him very often now, so sometimes, it’s like he’s dead to me too. It just never stops, this life. It’s fast and hard.”
“I understand…” Y/N nodded her head, and Bucky spied a tear, and felt a pang in his heart, “Did… Did you love him?”
“Oh God no!” gasped Y/N with a chuckle, “Me and Steve were more like siblings or best friends. He helped me and I helped him… I wasn’t snapped away, so spent the last 5 years with him. I trained with Natasha, and when Scott came back, Steve sent me away. To protect me, he said. I don’t doubt him, but I wonder, if I stayed, would’ve I been able to stop him from leaving?”
“No. He had his mind set on it…”
“Why’d you ask if I love him?”
Bucky cheeks reddened, “Well, after I messed this up so bad, I wondered if once I got back to New York, you’d like to go for drinks… or not?”
“Sargent Barnes, are you asking me on a date?”
Bucky shivered at the use of the title, but tried to cover it, “Would you be opposed to the idea?”
 “No…”
Bucky smiled at her as Sam yelled at him to hurry up. There was another moment of awkwardness before Bucky turned on his heel. Y/N stood still for few seconds before gasping, “Bucky! Wait!”
 “What?”
It was Y/N’s turn to blush as she pecked a kiss on his cheek, “Be safe. Baltroc has a rep for maximum of casualties.”
“I promise, doll…” Bucky smiled at took her hand in his, “Never thought the night would end like this. And now, I must really go.”
 -
Sam frowned as they stepped onto the Quinjet, “How do you do it, man? 5 minutes ago, you barely knew the girl, and now you’re going on a date with her?”
“It’s called charm, Birdbrain, you should try it some time.”
“I have charm! And a wingman.”
 “Redwing does not count.”
Sam huffed and sat down in a seat, “He so does. Besides, when she realizes you have a cyber-brain, she’ll be gone.”
“Nah, I’ll just charm her again.”
“Not with that grouchy face. If the wind changes, your face will be stuck like that.”
“I hate you…” muttered Bucky. Sam burst out laughing, nudging Bucky’s shoulder, and the man let out a small snort, smiling gently.
It might never stop, but Bucky couldn’t deny, when it did, it was nice. Steve was gone, but he had Sam and now, Y/N too. Yeah... All was good.

the sheridan tapes  📼  part two.   here and under the cut, you can find over 130 lines of dialogue from the horror podcast the sheridan tapes, specifically from episodes four to six, edited for roleplay purposes. some of these focus heavily on survival, war, science, and spooky stuff, but a lot can be used by anyone.  tw:  war, unreality, a mention of cannibalism, implications of manic behaviour.
❝  god, i hate snowstorms like this. not just getting caught in them, but the storms themselves. it feels like the earth’s trying to bury me alive every time it locks in like this. like nature’s rightly pissed off at all of us and doing its level best to crush us to death.  ❞
❝  that’s what yom kippur means:  the day of atonement.  ❞
❝  that wasn’t the first time i’ve caught him in my office, going through my stuff.  ❞
❝  normally i’d be annoyed at someone calling me young lady.  ❞
❝  thank you… you are so warm… thank you for letting me in.  ❞
❝  suddenly, everything fell into place. i made more progress than i had in about half a year.  ❞
❝  the thing i remember most was catching disapproving glances from my father every time i went to the library.  ❞
❝  why does time only run forward?  why does cause need to precede effect?  ❞
❝  no one knows if they can trust me with casework or not.  ❞
❝  i didn’t say i was interested.  ❞
❝  [he/i] was taken off duty and sent for psychiatric evaluation the next day.  ❞
❝  coffee. i was making coffee.  ❞
❝  i didn't mean to get stuck out here.  ❞
❝  that just goes to show how small humans really are in the grand scheme of things:  take away our tools and our toys and our technology, and we’re still just as vulnerable as we ever were.  ❞
❝  she was good at that:  making you feel like you were safe, like you could open up to her.  ❞
❝  i’m just going to cover that one up. no harm in keeping it out of sight for the moment.  ❞
❝  maybe there was someone in the stairs.  ❞
❝  i think i did the lion’s share of the talking, which almost never happens.  ❞
❝  i couldn’t get to sleep... i figured i’d get a head start today.  ❞
❝  i’m afraid i don’t have all of the details of your involvement with the… tragic events in [place]. and i don’t think i’m the only one.  ❞
❝  i’m still not sure i understand the whole tradition.  ❞
❝  whatever it is, it’s chasing me. i can hear it’s footsteps in the snow, i can hear it—  ❞
❝  when you work nights here, the less you really think about them, the better.  ❞
❝  honestly, i just can’t get it out of my head.  ❞
❝  snow is one of nature’s simplest and most effective ways of killing you dead if you aren’t prepared for it.  ❞
❝  i wish you’d tell me what you’re doing here. i could lose my job if anything gets broken or if you end up getting hurt in there…  ❞
❝  would you say you… considered her a friend?  ❞
❝  would you mind saying your name again?  for the recording?  ❞
❝  if that was true, then there was something—and as a scientist, i hate to say this—supernatural going on in that lab.  ❞
❝  most of them didn’t make it. a lot of them died afraid and alone, too.  ❞
❝  i know you don’t like listening to these things, so i just wanted to help you out with…  ❞
❝  if i could sleep, then trust me, i would.  ❞
❝  i’m guessing the new owners are trying to make this place seem less creepy than it already is.  ❞
❝  my schooling was expensive and unremarkable.  ❞
❝  a lot of them died afraid and alone, too:  ideal conditions for the making of poltergeists, in my experience.  ❞
❝  look, i’m sorry, but this really isn’t a good time for anything, so if you wouldn’t mind…  ❞
❝  basically, i was picturing a slightly creepier morticia addams. i couldn’t have been more wrong.  ❞
❝  now i have to deal with [name]’s aspirations to write drama..  ❞
❝  i promise i won’t get you sacked.  ❞
❝  i’ve never been very religious, but for some reason… it made me think of hell.  ❞
❝  i think it may have been a thank you.  ❞
❝  i’m working the graveyard shift and i noticed the lights were on.  ❞
❝  i shouldn’t be here. no one asked me to come in this early.  ❞
❝  everyone around here looks at me like i’m some kind of leper.  ❞
❝  i had to go home for a few hours. i’m already on thin ice around here, and i didn’t want to get in more trouble for screaming obscenities up and down the wall.  ❞
❝  it was… darkness. no, that doesn’t do it credit, the whole place was dark. this was just... void.  ❞
❝  if i’d seen her anywhere else, i’d think she was an athlete or a backpacker.  ❞
❝  better scientists than me have been bashing their heads into that particular wall since 1927.  ❞
❝  i just want you to know that… whatever you really are... you’re safe here.  ❞
❝  goats being goats, it would just come back the next day looking for food.  ❞
❝  i would like you to leave my office now… and i’ll ask you not to tamper with evidence in the future, understood?  ❞
❝  no, of course, i don’t have signal out here, so i can’t just call triple-a.  ❞
❝  what are you doing in my office—at four goddamn thirty in the morning?  ❞
❝  you ever wonder where the line is?  you know, between human and not?  ❞
❝  the funny thing i’ve noticed about war:  no matter how terrible the fighting is, there always seems to be too much waiting. too much quiet. too much sitting around, bored to tears between fits of chaos and violence, lost in routine while waiting for the other shoe to drop.  ❞
❝  a lot of people condemn them for that. we’re so sure we’d never resort to that—that we’d rather die than cross that unspoken boundary.  ❞
❝  i’ve been at the [workplace/institution] for ten years now. that’s long enough to know that the ones who ask questions are the ones who can’t cut it.  ❞
❝  the program blew every fuse in the lab. including the lights.  ❞
❝  it was soon after they left that i began to have trouble sleeping.  ❞
❝  perhaps we never knew each other as well as most friends do, but… we cared for one another.  ❞
❝  most of her questions are a bit above my pay grade.  ❞
❝  i’m trying, i’m trying! i can’t get the door open!  ❞
❝  i don’t know why she needed my help:  i think she had a better grasp of it than most science fiction writers.  ❞
❝  we both had places to be afterwards, so we kind of rushed. i really wish i’d taken the time to say goodbye.  ❞
❝  i guess some things just… don’t want to stay buried.  ❞
❝  it was completely against orders of course, but no one really noticed or cared that far from the front.  ❞
❝  i offered to buy him a cup of coffee.  ❞
❝  newspapers praised them at the time:  saw them as heroes of exploration and paragons of pioneer courage.  ❞
❝  i signed a lot of big, scary nda’s during my time there.  ❞
❝  i did the only thing that came to mind:  i took a grenade from my belt, removed the pin, and threw it.  ❞
❝  i doubt this storm will last more than a couple of days, and once it lets up we can sneak out of here and get going again. very, very carefully.  ❞
❝  given enough time, everything will rot away to its elementary components, and that, you can’t reverse.  ❞
❝  i really can’t see anything from inside the van.  ❞
❝  i knew there were a few experiments that dealt with some pretty high-level theoretical concepts, but i wasn’t directly involved with any of them.  ❞
❝  it’s a strange choice, but then again, he’s a strange man.  ❞
❝  i know, it sounds ridiculous. trust me, i’ve done everything i can think of to make that conclusion go away.  ❞
❝  scared the bejeezus out of a bunch of skiers, but they were nice enough to let me in after deciding i probably wasn’t a ghost.  ❞
❝  please… it burns my skin… please…  ❞
❝  i forgot how fast storms blow in up here.  ❞
❝  it’s not like i felt out of control:  it felt more natural than breathing.  ❞
❝  i didn’t know what i was doing, not at any conscious level. but one step seemed to lead to another, then the next, and then the next.  ❞
❝  it’s called a butcher’s shop in some places, but a mortuary in others. as much as i’d love to imply there was some sweeney todd style recycling going on here, i think the place has just been a lot of things over the years.  ❞
❝  god, these things are creepy as hell.  ❞
❝  if you wouldn’t mind, please, tell us what happened? in your own time, of course.  ❞
❝  it took a few long, nerve-wracking days to work up my courage and visit the section again.  ❞
❝  it’s not that odd to think that people ate each other out there.  ❞
❝  i didn’t think there was a ghost in my room or anything like that, i just kept hearing noises whenever i was about to fall asleep.  ❞
❝  i downed half a dozen energy drinks at 6 and called it dinner—i know, i know, it’s a nasty habit i picked up in grad school.  ❞

❝  i mean, [name] was a pain in the ass, but at least he didn’t…  ❞
❝  my schedule was full, but i had something else fall through at the last minute. i had your number on my desk, so i thought i may as well call.  ❞
❝  i wonder if it was afraid, or if it even realized what was going to happen. it probably didn’t.  ❞
❝  i need to get more coffee. or punch someone. whichever’s more convenient.  ❞
❝  god, if that’s really how i sound…  ❞
❝  people think i write horror, but i don’t really think that’s true. i just write fiction with all of the comfortable little lies taken out of it.  ❞
❝  i have loved the stars too truly to be fearful of the night.  ❞
❝  i think he felt something about this place… some influence or power that needed to be destroyed, so he tried to do it the only way he knew how.  ❞
❝  well, it’s a tricky thing. the more realistic you make them, the more… unreal they start to look. i think it’s something about the eyes.  ❞
❝  i offered to stay late, just to smooth things over.  ❞
❝  maybe i can get some writing done while i’m stuck here…  ❞
❝  no child could grow up in a jewish home surrounded by books and not read at least one story about golems.  ❞
❝  i just wasn’t a good student, despite my love of reading.  ❞
❝  i have to say, i like your jane doe.  ❞
❝  she was a scientist herself.  maybe not formally, but her way of thinking, her insight, her methods... they were scientist’s qualities.  ❞
❝  seriously, what do i need to do to get a little privacy around here, a little dignity?  hang a  ‘ do not disturb ’  sign on the door?  change all my locks?  ❞
❝  maybe it was stupid, but i figured, ‘ hey, early december, not a cloud in the sky—should still be fine, right? ’  ❞
❝  jesus, [name], i wasn’t born yesterday.  ❞
❝  maybe doing this while it’s still dark outside isn’t the best idea.  ❞
❝  more than a century and a half have passed, and this place is still just as dangerous as it was then.  ❞
❝  now, [mr./ms./mx. name], i’m sure you know why you’re here.  ❞
❝  the [event] was a bust—only about a dozen people showed up all afternoon.  ❞
❝  i never put much stock in the idea of inspiration, but for the first time in my life, it felt like i wasn’t pushing myself through the muck of miscalculation and guesswork towards a solution. i was being pulled towards an answer that already existed.  ❞
❝  it felt like i was a few steps from finding out something fundamental. some truth about our universe that no other scientist had ever dared to dream of.  ❞
❝  huh. that’s… that’s weird. i could’ve sworn there wasn’t a sculpture back there before.  ❞
❝  apparently, no one had told them what i was doing, and i wasn’t actually cleared to leave.  ❞
❝  maybe he’s trying to make amends. keeping watch over these half-living things to make sure no harm comes to them.  ❞
❝  i expected the building to be wreathed in shadow and overgrown with cobwebs, but it's actually really nice.  ❞
❝  sorry, i was trying to get my recorder working, but it froze up on me so i had to find a tape for this old…  ❞
❝  okay. just… don’t get me sacked, alright?  can’t exactly retire on this salary.  ❞
❝  but if it was real—i don’t know if i somehow created it, or if it was feeding me information about itself before it appeared.  ❞
❝  i’ve never had a manic episode before, and i was well below the level of caffeine needed to cause intoxication. as far as i can tell, there isn’t a medical explanation for what happened.  ❞
❝  i don’t get the appeal of meeting real celebrities. it’s just a cheap shock of recognition, and nothing more.  ❞
❝  whatever this… thing was, it sounds pretty dangerous.  ❞
❝  are you familiar with temporal asymmetry?  ❞
❝  i just want to make that abundantly clear:  this /wasn’t/ the plan.  ❞
❝  right then, now let’s get started. please state your name and rank for the record.  ❞
❝  though my soul may set in darkness, it will rise in perfect light.  ❞
❝  a cracker of a book, young lady.  ❞
❝  no wonder they’re keeping them in storage. they’d give anyone nightmares.  ❞
❝  i was just going to finish out my shift unless… you want me to stick around?  ❞
❝  i went to the university, but don’t remember much of the years i spent there.  ❞
❝  having to study textbooks and essays day in and day out took all of the joy out of reading for a long time.  ❞
❝  we call paradoxes paradoxes for a reason:  no matter how plausible they seem, they can never really happen.  ❞
❝  i don’t know what happened to me that night. i still don’t even know if what i saw was real.  ❞
❝  when we look into the void for too long, we find the monsters instead.  ❞

Both is good
Summary : you have to babysit for a friend but unfortunately this only leads to Butcher being more stressed out
Word count : ca. 1800
You didn't even had to reach the last step or the stairs down to your hideout to see the lost faces of the boys.
,,What the hell Y/N?'' asked Hughie with furrowed brows, after a moment of weird silence.
,,What?I forgot something.'' you said casually while approaching them playing stupid on purpose for that stupid reaction. Not aware of the fact, that you just stepped into an argument between Butcher and the rest on his lacking interaction with Ryan.
,,I meant that baby. What happened?'' asked Hughie.
,,Did someone never taught you about the birds and bees.'' you said now with a low giggle, while turning the baby in your arms carefully that it could face Kimiko, who slowly had walked to you all fascinated by the baby.
,,This little cutie is Daisy, she is one year old and my former roomates baby. She has some appartment inspections today and asked me to babysit while she is gone.'' you explained finally and adjusted her little cap.
,,This picture is just wrong. You with a baby?'' said Butcher in a mocking tone.
,,Why?At least I can keep my dorm clean. Those empty asia food boxes are from last weekend and I bet Hughie hasn't managed to write his application documents for a job at Neumann's Office yet.'' you said while walking past him, after you had the baby handed to Kimiko.
You could hear Hughie groan behind you.
,,Was Y/N all the time this – parenting?'' asked Hughie.
,,No she's just in her role now, like always.Last time she was a fucking IT- Pro just because she could fix the TV.Y/N is just immature.'' said Butcher.
You and the rest of the group ''shhed'' Butcher for his choice of words at the same time.He gestured Kimiko to give him the baby instead, he didn't seem to like your uneasiness with it.Kimiko might belonged to Frenchie, but that did not change the fact that she was still dangerous.
,,I think both is good.Who doesn't want a mom, who is also still a bit of a child.'' said Hughie, giving you a bit more confidence after Butcher's critic.
,,I think Y/N would make a good mother.'' said Frenchie while taking Kimiko in his embrace to sooth the daring glance on Butcher.
,,Thanks.'' you said, giving him a brief but generous smile before you turned around again to search in your bag for the coziest scarf for Daisy and gloves for you. Even though Daisy wore a jacket, gloves and a cap you wanted to make sure she wouldn't freeze while being in the park with her.
,,What about you guys?Don't you have something to do today?'' you asked while searching. They explained to you that they had nothing to do currently besides waiting for some new information from Grace Mallory.
,,Why did you took the baby from Kimiko?'' you asked Butcher with a concering eyebrow lift when you were done and faced the group again.
You knew that this question put him on the spot but you rather felt for Kimiko in that moment.
,,You can't just hand the baby to every possible person, just keep it by your side. She is a supe after all.'' he said while he handed Daisy back into your embrace. His voice was clear, he had nothing to hide.
,,What happened the last time you had a baby in you arm?Three people got killed.'' you said while adjusting Daisy on your arm.
,,No one said I would be the better option love.'' said Butcher.
,,Well obviously not. You're always so critizising and serious, no wonder you just stay the same.'' you said. You two exchanged a daring stare.
The athmosphere was far too tense to let someone utter, what everyone thought. This scene was almost like a fight between mommy and daddy.
,,Then why don't you gather up your stuff and -.'' Butcher said but you interrupted him.
,,Fuck off.Yes just what I was thinking.'' you said in a low voice while covering Daisy's small ears.
,,Alright.I will be in the park if someone wants to join.'' you said before you walked to the door. You only noticed some weird noises behind you instead of a proper answer. With a curious look you turned around before you shoot at everyone a daring look not sure what that was about.
The entire park was covered with powdery snow, that glittered in the sun and crunched underneath the shoes.Unfortunately for you no snow fell from the sky, but Daisy still seemed to be amazed by it.Her little head turned around all the time, trying to see as much as possible.
A memory from your childhood crossed your minds.
,,Daisy?Shall I show you a magic trick? You know, I can let it snow.'' you said to Daisy before you started walking to a fir until you stood directly underneath it.You waited until you had Daisy's full attention at your hand, that had reached for a lower branch.Thats when you pulled it down and a gentle snowfall came down on you.Daisy's high pitched noises and kicking made you giggle, she clearly wanted a bonus.
You were far too occupied with her that you didn't notice how Butcher stood some meters away on the sidewalk and watched you. Then you would have noticed his poorly hidden smile due to how warm you made his heart feel at a sudden.
Instead you met Butcher's grumpy face, when you turned around after the third time you pulled on one of those snow covered branches. On his hair and shoulders laid a good amount of snowflakes. While Daisy showed her amusement merciless you could not really laugh at all.
,,What do you want here?'' you asked.
,,Thought you offered us to join you.'' said Butcher.
Some moments later you three sat down on a bench.
,,So what's the matter with shaking the snow from the threes?'' asked Butcher, who seemed to struggle with finding his words.
,,My mom always used to do this with me.She always called it a magic trick.'' you said back in this memory and Butcher snorted.
,,What? Was that already to immature again?'' you asked a bit annoyed by now.
,,Then tell me your favourite memory of your childhood?'' you said , when you got the feeling what topic Butcher might needed to talk about.
He thought about this for a moment.
,,I don't know.Maybe the days when Lenny and I went out fishing, he was into that stuff.Spending the entire fucking day on a lake waiting for nothing.'' Butcher said, but still his lips curled up in a smile.
,,Sounds fun.'' you said despite his uncomfortable tone.
,,Honestly. My dad also used to do this before he cheated on my mom and left us.Maybe you should try this out with Ryan.'' you said earning a sharp glimpse from him.His fists were balled.
,,Why does everyone has to come up with this fucking topic?'' he asked. That was the moment when you decided to not just accept Butcher's stubborness.
,,Butcher!'' you said now gesturing the Daisy, the second time of him cursing was enough for your liking.Normally you wouldn't mind.
,,Because you clearly need to talk about it.Why else would you come to me after we had a discussion? You normally just ignore it until I decide to do as well.'' you said starting to occupy Daisy with your hands, wiggeling and clapping casually around.
Butcher nodded a bit defeated.
,,So great father than?'' asked he.
,,Seems to be a thing more frequently.'' you said bitterly.
You started to talk about your childhood, when Butcher finally found the courage to explain his latest attitude. You both talked about your own messed up childhood , seeing that the both of you seemed to have a fair amount of similarities.
,,Laugh at me as much as you want but those little things like the magic trick , are sometimes the only thing someone has to prevent them from doing something far more stupid. If you don't want to do it for yourself or Ryan, do it for the rest of the world. He's a supe after all.'' you said, your voice sounded still bitter, cause your mind was still in some old memories.
You covered Daisy's face with your hand, when a cold gust of wind came around.
Butcher said nothing.Instead he looked you deep into the eyes, like he tried to find something in it that you just have let shine through.
,,I know I don't belong into this and I also believe in you.. but if you need help, I would love to be there for you... both.'' you said carefully but hesitated to reach for his hand. But before you could draw your hand back to yourself Butcher took it and caressed it gently.
,,Thanks.'' was all he said but there was no need for more words. He gave you a brief but honest smile, that even reached his eyes. You knew how much Butcher hated it to accept help in certain matters. So you gave him a reassuring smile and enjoyed the moment of peace between the two of you.
,,You know that I like you having with me and that I like you just as you are.Not just when I need your help.'' he said a bit lower, since you sat closer to him by now.
You had just let those words pass without a comment and shifted a bit in his arms. You liked Butcher but you knew he was good in manipulating people.
,,Honestly Y/N.Please know this.'' he added, when he seemed to know what you had on your mind.
,,You're sometimes really sweet Butcher.I miss this.'' you said not quite sure if you meant this current moment as well.
,,You know I can't always be like that.'' Butcher said honestly.
,,Never said I don't like your other said. The only thing I really don't like is your cunt attitude.'' you said in a whisper to still keep Daisy away from those words.
This seemed to put a smile on Butcher's face.It almost felt like a deal you just had made.
The scene got interrupted by a bang behind you. With no hesitation your turned around, while keeping Daisy near against your breast only to see Hughie, Frenchie and Kimiko approaching you.According to Hughie's smirk you had a feeling who had thrown the snowball, the last bits of his remains still clang on the bench.
There it was again.Butcher's tense fists, even though it was Hughie. His arm around you shoved you closer to him.Even though you liked the fact that he looked after you, you would need to keep this thing between the two of your going.Butcher might needed some comfort but also someone to show him his boundaries of his struggles.
You freed yourself out of his embrace and gave him a smirk before handing him Daisy over, who luckily hasn't mind the bang at all.
,,Maybe you can keep her for a second? That would be a good start.Just need to teach Hughie a lesson.'' you said ironically and started to make your first snowball before you ran towards him.
Butcher looked after you.The view of you falling into the snow due to your attempt to bring Hughie to the ground, made him chuckle. You might were not the most mature person now and than, but you still could take responsibility over something he still had to learn.Maybe that was the reason he liked you. Both was good.

Chapter 3: A Little Party Never Killed Nobody
Word: 3.6K
“Haz are you okay mate?” Tom asked, seeing Haz freak out, they were about to land at Heathrow, on their way back from Dublin.
“No, I just heard from my neighbor that Henry never came home last night. With everything that happened yesterday, I’m just worried. I hope he is not lying in a ditch somewhere.” Harrison explained.
“He probably crashed at ours, everything will be ok.” You said as you comforted Haz. Oh boy, were you wrong.
Back at home, Parker awoke to his impending death once you and Tom, his parents’, find out what happened to their beautiful mansion. One party did all this damage. The curtains were torn down, there was red party cups everywhere and all the liquor bottles were displayed on the table. One amazingly epic party did all that.
“Bloody hell! That’s it I’m dead. I’m dead. I will never be allowed to leave this house ever again.” Parker said to himself. Picking up his phone he noticed 4 missed calls from you. Each one had a message and if there was one thing he knew about you is that you only left more harsh and frantic voice messages the more you called.
He only played the most recent one, you sounded really peeved “PARKER JACKSON HOLLAND! Please call me, I’m worried about you. I can’t get in touch with the staff either. I will be home in 20 mins, you better have a good fucking explanation for everything.” Parker’s eyes nearly flew out of his head when he saw that was sent 15 mins ago. Any moment now he would hear the Rolls pulling into the driveway.
The poor kid could only move so fast, he quickly gathered the liquor bottles and threw them into a plastic trash bag along with all the red solo cups that seem to be multiplying. All the meanwhile corralling all the squatters, from last night, who crashed there. He found some people by the pool and others passed out in the dining room. Running like a madman through the house, he caught a glimpse of what would be the reason for his demise. The door to Tom’s office was open. He swore to god he locked it, someone must’ve broken in. They could’ve taken anything, all the information about the mob was stored in that one tastefully decorated room. Parker quickly shut the door and hoped nothing would happen, he couldn’t live with himself if this one stupid party cost his family their livelihood.
“Rosie? Henry? Where are you guys? Mum and dad will be home any minute, I need your help.” Parker called out throughout the house. He didn’t expect Rosie to show up because of their fight last night, but where the fuck was Henry.
You and Tom pulled up along with Harrison in the black Rolls Royce, coming to a screeching halt. You all walked along the cobble stone path to the two large, intimidating front doors. You all simultaneously freaked out when you saw the door was ajar. Tom and Haz pulled out their guns and made it a priority to keep you safe by shoving you behind them. You all had no idea what you could be walking into.
Tom whispered to Haz to split up, Haz took the East Wing while Tom checked the main rooms. Rounding the corner he could her footsteps.
“Darling, stay behind me. I don’t want you getting hurt,” Tom whispered and you nodded in response.
“On the count of 3. 1, 2, 3,” Tom screamed as he jumped out, holding his gun straight ahead. He found his son disheveled, carrying grocery bags filled with empty beer cans and liquor bottles.
“DON’T SHOOT! DON’T SHOOT! Holy fuck! Dad is that you?” Parker screamed, dropping the bags to the ground, glass shattering and raising his hand up in innocence. Scared for his life her quickly caught his breath when he realized who it was.
“Parker, what the hell? Why the fuck was the door opened…. wait? Did you have a party!?!” Tom thundered as he realized what his son did. His voice gradually growing more furious. Parker just stood there with a shameful look on his face.
“Mum, dad. How was Dublin?” Parker sneaked to quickly change the subject.
“Don’t try to get out this, explain now!” You scolded, just as furious as Tom
“I’m sorry. I don’t know why I did it, I just needed to blow off steam.” “What the fuck do you think a sorry is going to do? I run a fucking mob, Parker. Are you a fucking idiot? Parker, for fucks sake, anyone could have stolen some information from my office or gotten into the gun room. What the fuck were you thinking?”
“I’m not that much of a div, I locked your office and I don’t know,” Parker explained.
“You’re not as dumb as I thought. Hope you were smart enough to lock the liquor cellar too,” Tom concluded.
“Yeah…about that,” Parker mumbled as Tom ran off to his liquor room. A loud clash and curse sounded throughout the house when he laid his eyes on his ransacked priceless collection.
“Mum, say something?” Parker pleaded with you as you just stood there in silence.
“2 months. You’re grounded for 2 months. No dates or parties, just school and home. I don’t think you understand how lucky you are that nothing serious happened here.” You said, your voice drenched with disappointment. “I know, I’m sorry. I’ve been thinking about what dad and you asked me and —” Parker whispered as he was soon cut off by Haz walking in.
“Did you find Henry?” Haz interrupted.
“No, I’m going to check upstairs. Will you check on Tom?” Harrison nodded as you ascended the staircase. Making your way through the halls, coming upon Rosie’s room.
“Roo, honey you awake?” You said walking into Rosie’s room
“AHHHH! Oh my fucking god! Rosie!” You screamed at the sight in front of you. Your sweet, slightly bad tempered daughter asleep with a boy in her bed.
“Darling? You alright?” Tom yelled from downstairs after hearing your scream.
“Mum, what are you doing here?” Rosie exclaimed frantically.
“Hi, Y/N.” Henry whispered, praying he wasn’t going to be berated. You were a mother figure to him after his own mother left his father and never looked back. “This is my house and hi Henry. What the fuck is Henry doing here in you bed? What the fuck are you doing here?” You questioned bouncing between the two of them to get some answers.
“I can explain. But, firstly are you gonna tell dad?” Rosie inquired.
“The fact that he is already fuming downstairs, no. Not right now. And please explain, you have 5 seconds, but first you need to get Henry out of here.”
“Thank you mom, I just don’t —.“
“Ehh, eh, eh! Shut it, I’ll deal with you later,” you barked.
“Henry, I suggest you take the window and your dad is looking for you,” you said.
“Shit! Thanks Y/N… I mean Mrs. Holland” Henry said as you shot him a glare.
The moment Henry was in the clear, Tom barged in with his gun in hand. Someone needs to tell this man to put it down. All morning he has been traumatically scarring his kids for life, first with Parker and now Rosie.
“What? Is everyone all right? I heard a scream.” Tom exclaimed out of breath.
“Umm, yeah. I just saw a spider.” You stuttered.
“Oh love, you can kill a man in cold blood but can’t handle an itty bitty spider,” Tom joked as he pressed a chaste kiss to your forehead.
“You're afraid of them too, Thomas.” You quipped with a side eye. If looks could kill, yours definitely would.
“And for you missy, you’re grounded along with your brother.” Tom said, looking down on Rosie. “Me? What did I do?” Rosie asked in a high pitched voice. “You attended this party correct? And since this is also your house, you threw it by association. Am I right?” Tom inquired.
“I guess so,” Rosie huffed.
The twin’s exile was worse than they prepared for. Not only were they responsible for cleaning up the entire mess but they were given a list of chores to complete. This was no ordinary list. It was devised by you and Tom along with inputs from the maids and capos.
On it read:
Wash the Rolls
Clean the guns
Reorganize the pantry
Mow the lawn
Re-order all stolen liquor and stock the liquor room
Drain the pool, clean the pool, fill the pool back up again…
The list was never-ending. Each task more pointless than the next. It went on forever. The household staff was happy for their load was to be lessen for a couple weeks, unlike the kids. Harrison even forced Henry to partake in the chores.
The kids were only a couple days into their quarantine and were already going stir crazy. Parker was having withdrawals from Charlotte, missing her even more. The boy was whipped for her, really smitten. They would talk the night away. Some nights never getting any shut eye as their conversations would prolong hours.
Parker couldn’t believe this was where he was now. One night of unadulterated juvenile fun equated to 2 months of misery. Today was Charlotte’s birthday and he was supposed to take her to the London Eye on a surprise birthday trip, but all his plans were ruined the moment his parents came home and grounded his sorry ass.
“I can’t believe your parents grounded you. Assholes.” Charlotte said over the phone, fuming he couldn’t celebrate with her.
“I can’t go babe. I really wish I could but I’m grounded for life remember.” Parker said, the cold shoulder Tom and you had been giving him was killing him.
“Parker its my birthday. You have to come,” Charlotte pleaded
“There’s no chance in hell I’m allowed to leave.”
“Geez you just threw a party, it’s not like you killed someone,” Charlotte added. He might as well have. If he killed someone he wouldn’t be burdened with this punishment, probably praised instead, carrying on the family tradition.
“Just sneak out. Come on, we are all going to this nightclub downtown. It’s gonna be awesome. And I’m such a good girlfriend, I can’t let you miss it.” Charlotte pleaded.
“Alright, Char you wore me down.”
“I knew it. Pick you up at 11 tonight.”
“Park around the block, I’m going to have to climb out my window. Remember my house is like a fortress.” Parker said. He wasn’t lying.
Meanwhile, Tom was in and out of meetings in his office all day. He received one odd phone call in particular from his dad, Dominic Holland. “Hi dad, how are you” Tom said as he picked up the phone.
“I’m fine son, so how did the talk with Parker go. I’m excited to teach him all my mobster tricks,” Dom exclaimed. “Actually dad, he reacted like I did.”
“Oh well, he will come around just like you did” Dom said encouragingly.
“I don’t know if he will. Anyway it wouldn’t be so bad if he had his own path in life.” Tom murmured trying to stick up for his son’s decision.
“Tom, you know what will happen to this family if that happens,” Dom yelled.
“I know dad. I just don’t want him to feel trapped, like you did to me,” Tom exclaimed growing more annoyed by the minute.
“What I did to you got you to where you are today. Your life is thanks to me son and don’t you forget it,” Dom said with a stern, menacing voice.
“Understood sir,” Tom quipped. “Maybe Parker needs a push, in the right direction.” “Dad, I swear to god, don’t fucking do anything. Y/N and I are handling this” Tom yelled. “We’ll see how that turns out” Dom ended the phone call. Leaving Tom frustrated that his father sees him as his own puppet.
The night soon fell and Parker’s plan had been put into motion. He bribed a few of the Tom’s men with his allowance to let him sneak past. He jumped out the window, carefully walked on the roof as to not slip and make any noise. Finally on the ground, he scaled the iron fence to be met with Charlotte’s ice blue eyes. She was dressed in a pink party dress that hugged her figure perfectly.
“Wow princess, you look *chef’s kiss. Happy birthday baby,” Parker said while making his way back to the ground.
“Thanks doll. Now come on, before someone catches us,” she yelled whilst hopping into her silver Mercedes.
Arriving at the nightclub, everything was in full swing for 11 o’clock at night. Parker, Charlotte and her other friends were treated like royalty the moment Parker let his name slip.
“Right this way Mr. Holland and I will have someone bring you a bottle of champagne, on the house of course,” the hostess said as she sat them at their table.
“Oooo fancy, you should drop your name more often,” Charlotte whispered in Parker’s ear.
“Oh it was nothing, love.” Parker said while pouring himself and Charlotte a glass of bubbly. “Seriously Parker, how’d you do this? If I didn’t know any better I’d say your dad owned the club or something,” Charlotte said dumbfounded, causing Parker to choke on his champagne at her remark.
It was amazing what power could do. Having enough power to make your enemies disappear was unimaginable. Parker knew what turning down his father meant. He would have the name and the look of a Holland, but he wouldn’t be one anymore.
How could he give all that up. He enjoyed his cushy lifestyle. Sure it was day after day of worrying about your image but, he felt as though he belonged in that world. How could he go on being a kid for two more years knowing there was a metaphorical expiration date on his life.
He desperately wanted to want to be like them, his family. You, his mother, are the strongest person he knows. Having you in his life keeps him grounded, literally at the moment. Also his dad, Tom is a very loving and amazing father. He was there at all the football games (English football) cheering him on and at the spelling bees, also when he felt his first heartbreak, Tom was there.
Family has been the one constant in his life. Now it was being eclipsed by power, a power that could ruin lives or affect change. Turning his back on his family means they would never get see his future.
No one would be there at his graduation from college or when he first child was born, only Charlotte would be there. The girl he hoped to marry and have his kids. He couldn’t give up his future with her, no way. Parker eyes glanced at her, mesmerized by her beauty. He thought to himself, “This was it. This, she is all I’ll ever need, my princess.”
Most of Parker’s pet names for Charlotte were derived from Tom. He had heard his dad refer to his mother as: princess, queen, doll, darling, love. The list goes on. As long as Parker had his princess he knew he would be ok.
They danced the night away. Song after song. Feeling like the only two people in the room. Getting more drunk as the night progressed and other guests started to fizzle out. Leaving Charlotte and Parker alone on the dance floor.
“Char, I think it’s about time we head home. We are the only people left,”
Parker chuckled.
“Just two more songs please,” she muttered with her head nuzzled by his neck.
“It’s two hours til sunrise!” Parker exclaimed.
“Just a little while longer, I don’t want this moment to end.” “Me neither baby, I want to stay in your arms forever” Parker said. In a moment of love, coupled with champagne and a few tequila shots, Parker whispered, “We should get married.”
“What? Are you serious? Do you mean now or in like 5 years?” Charlotte asked as her voice slowly diminished
“Umm… yes and now. I love you,” Parker murmured. “YES! I will marry you!” Charlotte exclaimed pulling her boyfriend into a deep, passionate kiss. Parker’s dream was coming true and all he had to do was leave his family.
Just then a group of tall, stocky men, all dressed in black, funneled through the door of the club. They didn’t bother with sitting down, they just stood there blocking the only exit.
One of the men spoke up, “Parker Holland? I have a message for you.”
“Can’t it wait til morning, just tell him I’m sorry and he can ground me even longer,” Parker replied thinking the message was from Tom.
“It’s not that kind of message,” all the noise drifted away as the other man drew his gun. Both Charlotte and Parker grew tense at the sight of his pistol.
“Charlotte, get behind me,” Parker whispered, scared for both their lives.
“Boy, it’s not from your daddy,” said the leader of the men. “Do you know who my father is? He will have all of your heads if you so as much lay a finger on me,” Parker responded
“So the girl is up for grabs?” “Charlotte, RUN!” Parker Screamed
“Eh, not so fast. I’m going to enjoy this one.” The guy said, seizing Charlotte in his grip and motioning for this associates to grab Parker. Two arms holding Parker back from protecting Charlotte.
“LET GO OF ME! CHARLOTTE!”
“Why you hanging out this rift raft? I’m sorry but he needs to atone for his mistakes.” “Parker..” Charlotte whimpered.
“Such a pretty girl and such a waste” the man snickered as he pressed the gun into her abdomen. Tears slipped down her face as she felt the cool metal against her.
BANG
It was the shot heard round the room. Everything stood quiet as Charlotte collapsed to the floor. The leader of the men shouted he need a drink. “NOOOOO! ” Parker screamed as he was let go and raced to Charlotte’s side
“Hey, hey, baby look at me. Look at me,” Parker said as tears flooded down his face.
“I’m sorry, we should’ve left.” Charlotte whispered with labored breaths while blood poured out of her wound. “Baby, you have nothing to be sorry for.” Parker cried while rubbing his thumb on her cheek. Blood pooled around them and he could only be focused on one thing, the love of his life dying in his arms. “Parker, it hurts so much,” Charlotte cried. The pain was mind-numbing. Threatening the life inside her.
“I know, love. Just keep your eyes on me love, keep’em open”
“I’m so tired Parker… I want my last words to you to be I love you. I love you ok? So much.” she whispered, then broke into a coughing fit. Blood filling her mouth and running down her chin, scaring Parker.
“Don’t, don’t fucking start that now you, hear me. You’re gonna be fine, we’re gonna get married and have kids and grow old together,” Parker exclaimed as her eyes threatened to shut.
“You said yes, Char. You have to be okay. You said yes. I asked you to marry me and you said yes.” Parker cried as tears refused to stop coming. Charlotte’s eyes growing more and more to a close.
“Please, don’t leave me baby. Charlotte don’t leave me. Don’t fucking close your eyes. You hear me. Don’t.” And with that, the hand Parker held so close to his heart was limp. Her eyes had closed and heart stopped beating. She was gone.
“No! No, no no, hey hey hey, come on, come on baby stay with me. Stay with me please.”
“Wake up, darling. Please. I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. Just come back to me baby. , I need you,” Parker whimpered. He burst into a fit of sobs and hugged her close to his body, not wanting to let her go because then it all became real.
The woman who changed his life, no longer walked this earth. The love of his life was gone. All the bubbling life inside of her, vanished like it had never existed in the first place. Parker’s demeanor flipped like a switch. His sadness became infused with anger, he was out for blood.
“You bastards! Why did you do that? She had nothing to do with this?” Parker thundered as blood coated his knuckles. “I’m sorry kid, but it had to be done” The leader spoke.
In a fit of rage, Parker grabbed the empty champagne bottle and smashed it over one of the guy’s heads, knocking the muscular guy unconscious.
“Big mistake, kid. Thought you were smarter than that.” The leader said as he stood in front of Parker and delivered him a swift punch to the jaw, flooring Parker.
“She really wasn’t enough of a message? Want her death to be in vain?” He spat as he kicked Parker in the stomach.
Several kicks followed, two more to the stomach, one to the groin and one final blow to the head, demobilizing Parker. He laid on the ground coughing up blood, trying to gather enough strength to get home.
He looked once more over to the girl he had loved, lifeless with a whole in stomach, knowing if it weren’t for him she would still be alive. Charlotte was the only thing on his mind as he succumbed to all the pain and everything faded to darkness.

Follow up, #6 from the caretaker dialogue prompts. I messed up already!
hello! thank you for the ask! <3
from these prompts
read on AO3
6. "Who gave you permission to fall asleep?"
Anakin presses his gloved hand to Obi-Wan’s head, trying not to think about the blood seeping through the cracks between his fingers or the mangled mess of flesh and bone under his palm. The ground is hot beneath him. He counts sixteen broken rocks until the urge to throw up passes, then presses harder, fingertips digging into a firm scalp and curling through damp strands of dirt-streaked hair.
It must hurt like hell.
“Sorry,” Obi-Wan slurs, and if it was anyone else they probably wouldn’t be able to make out the word at all for how terribly he butchers it in his mouth—but Anakin knows sorry is Obi-Wan’s favourite word, and hates it all the same.
“Don’t,” Anakin says, the word sharp where he shapes it behind his teeth and upon his lips. Too sharp, then, for Obi-Wan winces and spasms weakly in his arms, the clever quip waiting to be used now turned incoherent as it tumbles from his chapped lips.
And then it’s Qui-Gon all over again, a padawan holding a master, and Anakin cannot breathe in time to hear the next words Obi-Wan says. He holds Obi-Wan’s body close, grounded by the metallic smell of blood and the prickling, burning heat, until he remembers words are precious now—because words mean Obi-Wan is awake, and Obi-Wan awake means Obi-Wan is alive, and Obi-Wan alive means—
“—late,” Obi-Wan whispers. “N’akin. Too late—”
“Shut up,” Anakin says. Kriff the words. “Save your breath.” He doesn’t mean for it to sound so harsh, but it’s only fitting that his words are harsh; harsh to fit this planet, harsh to fit this scene, harsh to fit the nature of his head and his heart and his hands.
Obi-Wan trembles, and Anakin shivers with him, until he realises Obi-Wan—Obi-Wan is laughing, and now holding him tighter is no use—it only accentuates the tremors, until Anakin can almost hear the hollow rumble of a breathless laugh in his own throat, before he snaps, “This isn’t funny.”
“Sorry,” Obi-Wan says again.
Anakin brushes his hair aside, leaving a streak of bright red in his wake, and another over Obi-Wan’s closed eyelid when his fingers slip. Without thinking, he rubs at the sticky trail, only managing to smear it further.
Before Anakin can think of something else, something harmless to say, Obi-Wan’s head lolls against his chest, his hand falling from its place on his stomach, skinned knuckles brushing against the burning ground. A ragged sigh tears itself from his chest. It cracks in the hot air, splits like his chapped lips and brittle nails.
“Obi-Wan, open your eyes,” Anakin says, hoping Obi-Wan isn’t as desperate as him. Where is the evac? He needs to check, but his comm is too far away, blinking silently where he dropped it in a haste to get to Obi-Wan, who has finally given up trying to talk, which could be good or bad or stuck somewhere in between, and now lies heavy and bloody and limp in his arms, a dead weight to remind him what exactly might happen if Kix doesn’t arrive soon—
“Hey,” Anakin warns. “Who gave you permission to fall asleep?” There’s a cramp in his fingers where they’re wrapped tightly around Obi-Wan’s wrist, so stiff he probably won’t be able to move them for a good ten seconds after he lets go. He won’t let go, though.
“Not funny,” Obi-Wan whispers.
“It’s not supposed to be.” There is too much blood on his chestplate. He would be more reassured if the blood was his. “Obi-Wan. Open your eyes.”
Obi-Wan blinks, eyelashes fluttering. “Anakin.”
“Don’t fall asleep.” A featherlight brush along a quivering jaw, gloved fingers scraping at dried dirt caked into soft skin. “You’re not allowed to fall asleep.” When the air grows still again, he pulls Obi-Wan closer, tucking Obi-Wan’s bleeding head against his own shoulder.
“Not easy,” Obi-Wan breathes, into the hollow of his collarbone.
Anakin swallows. The shallow breaths against his neck are evening out. He can almost feel the blood dripping from in between his fingers, down his glove, as he presses desperately against the wreck of blood and bone he outright refuses to look at.
“I know,” he whispers, even though he really doesn’t. “They’re almost here.” He hopes they are, and hopes he’s saying it to reassure Obi-Wan more than he’s saying it to reassure himself. The urge to hold grows pressing, and Anakin slides his other hand over Obi-Wan’s forehead in retaliation. It is muted through his glove, but he knows the strip of skin beneath it is hot and clammy.
In a flurry of dirt and sand, the speeder stops five feet from where Anakin kneels on the ground. His cough rakes at his chest when when he breathes in a lungful of dust.
“Come on,” Anakin whispers.
There is no reply from the body in his arms.
“Obi-Wan,” Anakin says, louder now, and if Obi-Wan were awake he would tell Anakin to keep his voice down, to lose that frantic tone that isn’t doing anyone good; but Obi-Wan isn’t—he’s not awake, not really asleep either—somewhere in between, maybe, somewhere Anakin will never reach but he can try—
Kix jumps off the speeder with a hypo in one hand and bacta spray in the other, and somehow manages to use both simultaneously as he pushes a blood-slick glove away from the mess it’s buried in. Anakin falls back, watching them drag his master onto a stretcher, a trail of blood painting a messy line across the rocky ground.
Helpless, Anakin thinks. He’s helpless.
Kix is shouting—at him? For him? Rex’s face is closer—oh, that’s close. That’s very close. Now Rex is shouting. Why is Rex shouting? General, Rex mouths, snapping his fingers in front of Anakin’s eyes.
Anakin looks down at his hands. They glisten.
He wipes them on his tunic.
