An important note about dominance...

i do not like the expectation that i will be dominant at any given time, but I do enjoy showing some dominance sometimes, in some situations. I do enjoy being a brat, when I'm not already feeling really subby but want to be put in my place.

Hell, I do enjoy hypnotizing people. A lot, actually. I've been a hypnotist (in both a purely for fun way and occasionally a kink way depending on the person) for a relatively large number of people over the past several years, including in person for a handful of people, though much less so in the past year or so. I would love to make files for people to listen to, and I totally would if I had the creative energy and a private space to record (reminder that I live in a college dorm and have a roommate — they're awesome, but we don't have that kind of relationship and have zero intentions of changing that ever).

The problem is, I get burnt out very quickly if I force myself to be dominant when my brain isn't just doing it spontaneously. How do I know? In past relationships my partners saw me as a switch, and expected me to dominate them as much as they dominated me. I really can't do that. My dominance is as much within my control as my hyperfixations — I can make good use of it when it's there, but when it isn't there's nothing I can do to force it without causing myself lots of stress and burnout.

For that reason I'm not willing to be your domme or anyone else's. Instead of seeing me as a switch, please consider me a sub who can be dominant sometimes. I can't do it on demand, and I can't promise that I will be able to do it for any given person at any given time.

sooo yeah!! next are my soft limits — things i don't necessarily love but can tolerate in an otherwise fun context. please ask before acting on these because i would generally prefer to avoid them.

hypno audios narrated by text to speech — most of them are just grating and i can't relax with them.

"brainwashing" files that are just someone saying the same thing over and over with no induction or deepener or triggers or anything to put me under. i need to be in trance before that stuff does anything.

"hypnosis audios" that have loud music, or where the script is turned into a song. i've heard it done well maybe once or twice, i've heard it done wrong a million times.

hypnosis content as long form videos, especially when i need to read text in the video. my eyes get exhausted from staring at a screen for too long. i really really prefer audio, and text is good too, but videos longer than a couple minutes are rough.

and finally, here are my hard limits. please don't bring these things up. full stop. these are non-negotiable.

the drugs haloperidol/haldol, lorazepam/ativan and promethazine/phenergan

heavy pain

blood, knives/sharps, heavy scratching/marking

being asked/"forced" (i can and will block you if you're pushy) to send pictures or videos. audio is a hard maybe and very much depends on dysphoria at that moment and vibes. but yeah pictures and videos are a no-go.

being sent dick pics. please don't. im not into that. other pics are probably fine as long as you're chill.

extended degradation with no praise (i start having genuine self image issues past a certain point - i like being degraded, having my behavior changed, and then being praised as a reinforcement mechanism)

intox play, especially alcohol and weed. it scares me because of some past experiences. this is specifically about being intoxicated in the traditional sense (drunk/high), so like for example being sedated is something im cool with (and actually love the idea of)

feeding kink stuff

and here are some of my hypnotic triggers, in no particular order

"brain goes bye bye" melts my brain and makes it really hard to think

"control goes bye bye" takes control of my brain and my body away so that i just do as im told

"memories go bye bye" makes it really hard to remember anything for a while, which mostly just shuts my brain off. these first three are all from Miss Lilith, i love her files~ <3

"sleep" and "drop" both put me under, to varying degrees of success. might take multiple uses to really take me down deep, and really everything works better with a snap

"good girl" makes me happy and a tiny bit more obedient

"look here", "listen" and "focus" draw in my attention and make it hard to look away from/ignore whatever is being shown/said to me. they also usually make me more suggestible.

"lightning" makes me feel weak and dazed and when im like that "thunder" puts me under and gets me really floaty and fuzzy

"submit and obey" makes me obedient and super duper suggestible

i have a lot more, im just not remembering them all right now. theres probably dozens in my brain from all the files ive conditioned myself with over the years

SINCE IM TALKING ABOUT BOOK BINDING TONIGHT. UHM. ^-^ heres a small collection of some books i made in school that im proud of! i dont post my schoolwork on tumblr much, so. why not now that im graduated and have a degree in book arts LOL plus one bonus letterpress print since thats a related artform!!!

firstly, non-narrative and more structure focused: my current sketchbook!!! this is a gate fold, meaning it opens up on both sides, done with coptic binding!!! literally my favorite structure to do, especially for sketchbooks. i dunno why im so entranced by this structure. its inconvenient, even, at times. i just think it looks awesome

BOUND. MY MASTERPIECE BOUND. GOD. this piece went through a lot of different stages, but ultimately, it ended up being an exploration of bondage and the human form!! the book itself gets tied up, meaning theres a very physical element of having to untie and then retie it. i did some blind embossing which i loved. its loose leaf within a container which i adore as a structure. and its just SO. FUN. I LOVED MAKING IT. i dyed the rope myself :]

ive always been a big fan of ephemeral work (for those unaware - ephemeral work is temporary, meaning it gets destroyed as part of the piece!), and i was like. severely in a way at the beginning of last year after my grandfather's death. so i did a piece where i wrote 79 pages obsessively documenting every single thought i had about his death, then dressed up in the dress i wore to his funeral and destroyed the book in front of all of my classmates! my professor was astounded but worried that i maybe did it a little too soon which. yeah. probably. not gonna subject yall to the video of that LOL but heres the last page - i had 80 pages, so this is what i put for the 80th page. this piece was more about the performance than the book, so it doesnt look great, but i would feel weird not mentioning it at least

for a more uhhh not LIGHTHEARTED but fictional take on ephemeral pieces - I LOVE BURNING BOOKS. i love burning books, i have burnt SEVERAL books (not great considering that lighters were banned on my campus but my professors never ratted me out--) but heres just one example! this was a story about a lesbian in a group of bikers, coming to terms with her sexuality and the fact that she was in love with her friend A's wife, B. i absolutely LOVED making this book, it was early in my uhhh more pyromaniac books so its not AS burned as it could be. things with claws was like FULLY BURNED THROUGH in many ways. but this was still so so fun, would love to come back to this book and remake it later

aaand finally - my bonus letterpress piece! this was for a project using gradient ink and i printed a part of in paths untrodden by walt whitman ^-^ this piece is why my professor started calling him "travis's good friend walt" LMAO i would NOT. SHUT UP. ABOUT HIM DFJBHGFJHBDJH im not entirely pleased with this piece, the gradient starts waaay too early but i do really love the subtlety :]

"what things" well.. let's talk about the next character on our list.

but enough talking about my faves. honestly.. i don't really care about isagi? which actually makes me very sad bc i found him very relatable at first but then i kinda got bored? like i can't even describe his personality, i can only say "uhhh he's friendly with other guys unless he's playing football and also. uh. he likes football"? and ig that can also be very fun and i'm usually a huge fan of characters that usually act nice but also have a very rude and mean side, but isagi is just. idk, i don't really find him that interesting and those moments when he's like, busy analyzing everything and coming up with strategies.. honestly, i just skipped them JSDKSLSLS. I WANTED MORE ACTION OKAY. i think his relationship with bachira is cute though!

BACK TO MY FAVES. i would bite kaiser's head off if i ever got the chance but he's also one of my fav characters. yeah. he's so cool, i love his design sm, i need to look like him. i want to get into his head and figure out what's wrong with him. i want to squeeze him and crush him and tear him apart, but i also love him so much. tbh i don't know anything about the new chapters, but i'd love to learn more about him, it's like, at the same time, i want him to have a backstory that's a little bit (or maybe VERY) sad, but i also kinda want him to be like that just bc he can (even though i'm pretty sure it was implied that he does have a reason for acting like that). and yes, i love his relationship dynamic with ness. yeah.

reo. another fave of mine. though i actually didn't like him that much when i first saw him, but. i knew deep down that a purple boy will become one of my faves. love this gay disaster of a man, everything that happened between him and nagi was more entertaining than every single romance movie that i've ever watched. i want him to get better and realize that he's capable of doing great things without him. i also want him to become even more dependent on him for angst reasons. it's hard. and i honestly both love and hate that moment when he decides to return to nagi right after he finally started to get some character development, because YES I WANT HIM TO GROW AND I WANT HIS PERSONALITY TO BE SOMETHING OTHER THAN "if i spend at least one day w/o nagi i will die", but also it's very realistic and as someone who was in MULTIPLE (platonic) relationships that were exactly like his relationship with nagi.. that moment was very painful. in a good way. and again, i wanna look like him.

my relationship with mikoto is very hard to explain bc it's like. in theory, i'd love to learn more about him. i'd love to stan him. but also.. i'm not a fan of how the fandom pretty much makes his DID his only personality trait? maybe i'm just on the wrong side of the fandom, but i rarely see any posts about his other traits? again, i'd love to learn more bc i have a feeling that we have a lot in common, but. but yeah. i'm a huge fan of his minigram version though <3 so silly. so squishy. so funny. (honestly, me being salty that almost all convos about mikoto usually discuss his DID is so funny to me now that after three therapy sessions i've found out that i'm most likely a system SJHSJDKDLSL like bro THAT IS YOU) about "i would push them down the stairs" i mean it in a silly playful way :) like i want him to fall down and scream in a very cartoony and funny way.

A fun story about my history of being a whump writer without knowing it.

So I play a lot of TTRPG games, mostly D&D until recently we have started to branch out. Anyway, so I had a character with a pretty whumpy backstory.

She was enslaved since childhood with basically a magical shock collar that also could cast silence to shut her up. She had eventually escaped and killed her captors before embarking on a quest to find someone to help remove her collar.

(she was my replacement after my previous character died and the party was like level 13-14 so she did need a backstory to justify her matching their intensity levels, which were HIGH)

Anyway after meeting up with the party we kinda got targeted by a god of nightmares. Who..made us relive our worst memory.

So the DM asked for us to write up our characters most traumatic, fear and pain filled memory for him to use in the nightmare sequence.

I mean he knew my backstory but was still a bit...uhhh...taken aback when I sent in my memory. Of the day my character was collared and tortured and also had her horns (she is a tiefling) sawed off.

Yeah nobody else had a traumatic memory even close to that.

Anyway im thinking about putting up her story on here as a whump fic, if it sounds interesting to you lmk and that may move it up my priority list.

HOO thats a long one and i have the memory of the size of a pea so im opening Map of Runeterra for this one. Its never too much to ask just dont mind me not remembering all the people that cohexists in league of legends universe im sleepy and obsessed with THAT one character.

i'll try to give further explanation but in most cases is just for the aesthetic and not because of the lore so my apopopopologies <3

Freldjord: Braum!! Who doesnt love that big guy. Honestly, he's fun, he's cute, he's very talkative and passionate about the things he likes so he feels relatable at least for me. And he's kind to everyone! and kind to creatures! Probably one of my 'shirtless TM riot men that i actually like' list. He's just wholesome and warm.

Demacia: Ahhh uhhh ummmm yeah ahhh... demacia huh... ummm... (On my pc Morgana's little icon under Demacia's name is the old splashart pre rework i just think its fucking funny)

Poppy! I know she's a yordle and that i already said that i love them but overall demacian characters feel a bit dull to me (not all of them, but if you know, you know...). I just love her big ass hammer and her story, and how she's so convinced that she's not the hero but everyone around her clearly nows it. I love how she looks! And i love her pigtails... I also liked her old design, wich surprises a lot of people when i express it. Yes, she was sometimes uncannily creepy... but she had cool splasharts in the past, and i didnt mind her being ''ugly''. Fuck Riot's concept of beauty.

Noxus: Hhahahahahhahah im terrible but im a sucker for Kled. I love that guy i already expalined this on previous posts. Playing league is my way to cope with roughness in life and has been present through a lot of my trauma and i started playing Kled when i had some peaks of anger issues, the thrill of his gameplay made me de-stress a lot and i love his quotes. He is also very charming in quotes! He's funny, he's silly and he's old and theres something unspoken going on there, brain weasels. I love that guy and her screaming lizzard she's my baby. I love Skaarl and how she has her own personality that often crashes with Kled but she's nonetheless always loyal to him and restores her courage to save his ass. Queen.

Piltover: Hummm probably Orianna. I say probably cause im unaware if her lore has changed from 2014 to this day. I love the concept of a human girl with such a loving father that tried so badly to keep her alive as she was dying and loosing parts of herself and how he tried to keep her with him until she became just a beautifully but souless creation. Its a character i actually like having no quotes related to her lore, in the end Orianna is already very much gone, she's now but an empty metal shell that only commands the ball and speaks souless about human emotions she so used to understand when she was human. Fun fact i was a sucker for BlitzxOri ship and i still think its funny and cute.

Zaun: Twitch... he's a rat. There's nothing more about it. I would say Janna but she's technically Shuriman but either way i will briefly say that i enjoy her in Zaun, queen is giving fresh air slay pop off. Back to Twitch, i always liked him! He's silly, i have his punk skin and i adore how he looks, he's silly and stylish... I also got his shadowfeet skin cause he reminded me of my pet rat Kenny and i bought it to try and cope with his passing, i upgraded him maestry 7 on his honour. I dont know! He's cute in all of his skins not just the ones that intently try to make him cute, punk one is great, and i loooove how his head looks in Ice King skin... He's just lovely, and munches on cheese. And stinks. Its literally so me.

Targon: Soraka, probably. She's a goat unicorn lady! What else can i say? Im a sucker for most of her skins mostly the old ones. I love program Soraka, its one of my favourite skins of her, i think she's neat when i dont analize it... if i did i would set in on fire probably. I dont know her gameplay is cool and its one of the firsts supports i started playing. I used to heal the minions when you could do that back in the day. I remember my shock face first time i healed someone and realized my health bar went lower like 'OH sharing is caring!'. Unicorn lady mom.

Shurima: Renekton. Only because he's a crocodile and 'crocodile' is the word i pop up in my mind whenever i overthink to make my mind blank, and because i think crocodiles are cool. He's stubborn and resentful. Just like meeeeeeee

The Void: Kog Maw... he's silly designed and right now im VERY hungry im feeling very Kog Maw right now. I dont knoooow he's silly and i love his skins that do not portray him as cute too... I love skeleton kog maw he's amazing sack of bones. Point of all this is because i think he's cute, mostly. I want to hug him and he would puke on me and burn me in acid. cutely, though. he ate and left no crumbs.

Ixtal: FOR SOME REASON QIYANA'S ICON HAS YASUO'S ILLUSTRATION what. Uhhh i dont know why Milio isnt in the list of Ixtal champions... I think Riot's map machine broke. Anyway. Milio!!! He's a sweet kid, with a lot of preassure on his shoulders but he's so carefree and confident but not in a smug way but in a 'i have to do it for my omele' and he's so fucking adorable with his little fire dudes... I loved his lore and his short story he DRAWS pictures of his adventures and sends it to his family it makes me sob and punch the wall because he's such a sweet child he deserves the whole world. He's here to bring the good vibe on Ixtal. When i started playing him i didnt read his lore and he was talking so lightheartedly of his family that my poor ass knowing Riot i said 'Those bitches are definetly dead' WELL TURNS OUT NO and im so very happy cause if his family isnt okay i will kill everyone in this room and then myself.

Ionia: Uhhh can i get uhhhh ummm like... an interesting champion i have no problems with? /jk. Jhin :) he's iconic, so iconic riot decided to bamboozle all of us with 200 dollars chroma LOL. Okay but there was a lot of Jhin fever when he was released and the early years of his existance and those were probably the years i had the most fun on tumblr. He's memeable, but you can also take him seriously and think that the guy is fucking crazy and excentric. He paints his nails so... bonus points. His hourglass body type in project: Jhin was so INSANE it made everyone wild in this website. For once there was equality, briefly. His face reveal was kiiiind of a letdown, i expect him to be more fucked up but well i guess that what is behind a mask is another mask. In castilian dub his voice is very recognizable, he's actually the same voice actor that does Batman voice! wich is very cool, but he also does the ads of Carrefour wich is a supermarket and sometimes you can bug your own mind and imagine Jhin selling you a kilogram of tangerines, its so fun. Jhin also canonically shaves his balls wich is not a personal preference of mine nor does this add to the why i like him i just felt like i should say that Jhin canonically and confirmed by a rioter shaves his balls.

Shadow Isles: Maokai he's a FUCKING tree oh my god. I loved that little instance of Ruined King when we saw a younger maokai he looks so silly and curious... I loved his little paper on the game. Also i dont know how are they called in english... does riot call them 'saplings' to the little guys Maokai throws around and that are sitting on his hand? In Spain they are called 'pimpollos' wich is the name i call my followers on instagram, actually im going to start calling everyone my little pimpollos :)

Bandle City: Teemo... he's the first champ i've ever known. He's short, he's an explorer, i dont think he's twisted he's just smart and that scares humans for his yordle powers. But he can also be a little bit of a dummy, like in Dont mess with the yordles. He KEEPS a DIARY oh my GOD i want to read it and it also feeds my Tristmo ship cause i imagine him drawing Tristana and doodling silly stuff while she is watching her train or thinking about her... He also has wich is, for me at least, one of the bests legendary skins in the whole game being that Omega Squad. That one sent me FLYING when he was leaked and i had started playing already for 5-6 months or so. I begged my dad to buy it. I loved his old interactive page that also eventually leaked and got into official league page where you could click on different condecorations and trinkets and he would drop his quotes about other yordles and champions. That skin messed my brain scheme forever. and when they released Omega squad tristana... my ship level RISED... He's a baby, but he can bite you if he wants. I will protect him from people that says he's a trash champion.

HI fe3h anon from earlier. i started playing at like 9 and stopped at 4. did not realize how early it was until i turned the game off because i was at a good stopping point lmao. anyway!

made it to chapter 4 of the first... idk what it's called? section? i chose the black eagles (it was a sort of tough decision, because . off the bat i REALLY liked both edelgard and claude, but i liked the eagles a lot more on average which was the deciding factor). having fun so far! i was expecting to not lovee the actual like. battle mechanics but nope i was totally sucked in. really good gameplay.

as for characters. well. like i said, off the bat i really liked edelgard and claude. honestly as of right now i don't think there's a single eagle i dislike those are all my besties. if i had to pick three (non edelgard, bc she is hands down my favorite so far) characters who were my favorite eagles... right now, probably dorothea, bernadetta, and maybe caspar? but it's genuinely so hard to pick, i like them all.

as for non-eagles, i haven't gotten the chance to know them quite as well yet, so there's more a list of characters i'm interested in learning more about? top of that list is probably ingrid, marianne and hilda. OH and of the like... non-students, i've barely met her but i loveee shamir's voice and design.

genuinely i barely know anything about fire emblem somehow so. i am excited to see how the story plays out!

HIII OH MAN A FULL 7 HOURS OF PLAYING HUH? I TOTALLY WENT THROUGH THE SAME THING WHEN I FIRST STARTED PLAYING. remember to take care of yourself and get some sleep though! but i totally understand the feeling of getting sucked in fdgjdnjg the game does such a great job of doing that! BUT THE OTHER PARTOF ME WANTS YOU TO KEEP GOOOOING... IM SO HAPPY AND EXCITED FOR YOU HEHE

YAAAAY SO HAPPY YOU CHOSE THE BLACK EAGLES KDFNGFD i will warn you rn though based on the writing of edie's route compared to everyone else's..... it's so obvious that teaming up w/ her was thrown in at the VERY last second. i won't say anything just yet but im sure you'll understand what i mean if you play the other routes. and who knows maybe you'll figure it out also just by playing hers? but anyway, no spoilers! but as a heads up edie's route is 4 chapters LESS than the three other stories :/ and there's no like... real resolution to her arc / story? SO much can be accomplished in 4 chapters and they jsut.... man idk, the stopping point was terrible. bc based on edelgard and motivations? her story wasn't yet done.

BUT ANYWAY. ENOUGH OF THAT. SO HAPPY YOU CHOSE THEM AS A FIRST ROUUUTE.... and claude is such a good second choice.. his def would've also been a great starting route. although it's pretty obvious how the blue lions was meant to be the "meat" of the game yk? you find out soooo much more abt *certain* characters and just. yeah. it's sad. but! edelgards route still holds a special place in my heart, regardless of the quality, and i hope it does for ypou too! also super glad to hear that the battling mechanics hooked you in! theyve improved the gameplay from previous games (esp w/ the inclusion of divine pulse. having that is sooo nice i will say) so im happy it works well for new players!!!

EDIE AND CLAUDE ARE SUCH GOOD CHOICES<3 AND THE BLACK EAGLES TOO<33 dorothea bernie and caspar are such good choices too btw.... glad you weren't annoyed by bernie at first bc my brother really was gkdfnjg CASPAR IS MY BOY.... IF YOU ENJOY THEM NOW YOU'RE TOOOOOTALLY GOING TO ENJOY THEM AS THE GAME PROGRESSES AND AS A EVERYONE GETS MORE DEPRESSED!

its not the same as playingthe route as the house those characters are in, but you'll get to learn more abt them through talking w/ them in th emonastery! i also def recommend like. recruiting the characters you wanna learn more about asap and going throuhg their supports w/ other characters if possible.... i also just HIGHLY recommend recruiting your non black eagles faves. bc uhhh things certainly happen later in the game. but yeah<3 those non eagles chocies are very good.... ingrid is. an interesting case. bc i understand why ppl hate her but i also went throuhg the supports that made ppl hate her and lik e? i understand why she thinks the way she does? and she actually becomes... self aware in her B support w/ him? but still. you;ll understand once you play the blue lions route im sure. but yeah i jus tcant help but have a soft spot for her idk. i just think shes neat and i love projecting onto her for certain things lol.... also lorenz is along the same lines as her in relation to claude and yet hes barely shat on? like HMMM I WONDER WHY :/ ANYWAY. WHY THE LITIGATION TEAM IS SUPER COOL AND AWESOME AND STUFF

ok so in the lore of the funny toontown game the Litigation team is a group of specialized cogs (thats what robots are called in this universe. the capitalist ones anyhoo) that were hired to help the CLO (that women with the glasses in the above picture) not get her ass kicked by funny cartoon animals. yes its as weird as it sounds yes it goes hard as fuck

so as such their entire thing is that they can beat up toons by using these sick ass strats of theirs. but uhhh thats not the main focus its about found family stuff

FOUND FAMILY STUFF well ok we dont know a lot about the team but there are a buncha implied/i guess just obvious but not directly spelled out dynamics within the team

there's mundie, he's the teams leader and he thinks hes hot shit, i'd argue in the found family sense hes probs the dad/weird uncle/whatever that kind of category is given that he.... has old fuck vibes to me, at least. also hes the leader and there are fanworks out there that have it correlate to the found family. look here he is he is so proud of his team

he does often hype them up in the in-game dialogue that happens before the battles. ofc its all formal like "we can do our job well we're the litigation team" but hes got the spirit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

tbh i will state the team are at each other's throats a lot. kilo and mundie fight over shit in the in-game dialogue, and in general there is A Lot Of Them Being At Each Other's Throats, but at the same time its not like super super hatred if you ask me its like found family who like to play fight if you ask me. im not brushing off how mean all the team members can be to kilo btw- for any corpclash fans reading this- but tbh the team has been kinda stagnant character-wise/we dont know a LOT about them outside of the given cutscenes so theres like development potential and a lotta ppl enjoy writing it!!!!! and i totally see it too

tbh if you want my opinion in this propaganda i say that they're the type of found family thats like comically fighting each other for fun. fistfighting behind the arbys and thats family bonding. a "im going to throw you into the sun but if anyone else lays a hand on you they are no more" kinda deal if that makes sense.

should note that barry cannonically like. barely speaks/its like scary as shit or something when he does???? its not really told why its such a tense/worrying thing (like at some point in the comic barry opens his mouth to speak after being asked by his boss if. well. he can speak. and the entire team is tensing up like "HOLY SHIT DUDE" and then he just. says normal ass words and theyre like "PHEW") but its implied its because he. yells all the time. so like. yeah that probs means something

BUT LIKE DUDE THEY RAN AN INSURANCE COMPANY TOGETHER................................... THEY GIRLBOSS TOGETHER......

its unknown what exactly they have but whatever it is real caring about each other moments

Typical work acquaintances that ended up caring about each other a little more than they originally anticipated. Still kind of rude to each other, but what family doesn't argue?

Listen, listen,,, sometimes a family can be a boy, his bestie, his adoptive pig father, said pig father's bestie with a violent history, that guy's therapy cat, and a freeloading scholar who definitely totally isn't married to the pig father mhm mhm

ahem. screams so, the mk found fam are just all around wonderful and just are a family. the show itself makes it obvious that Mk and Mei are not romantic interests and in fact are just platonic best friends, and dare I say, siblings. Tang and Pigsy are just married, its not canon but, c'mon, its obvious if you look at them. They're also just the dads of the group, Pigsy outright raising Mk and Tang calling himself "kinda like a father figure" to Mei. Sandy is Pigsy's old friend and now he's the uncle of the group and the crazy cat lady at the same time, Mo is his therapy cat and is always with Sandy, do not separate them. Not much of a rant but tbf all that's in my head when i think about themis just "EUEUEUEU".

Hey all! So I got some anon asks about the Halo stuff from yesterday, and I figured I’d answer them all in one post so I don’t spam your dashes. Here goes!

So how is that legal aren’t the characters owned by someone? Like I know ao3 protects their writers specifically because it’s *unmonetized* fan fiction, that’s why you can’t even share links to your fundraising pages..? Either way congrats! I’ll buy it!! This fic saved me. But you should really put this on ao3 I saw it on Twitter that’s the only reason I know. Im sure there’s others like me who went through a period of needing to read certain chapters more than once. I’d be a nasty shock.

With the legal stuff, that’s why I’ve been editing it. All the names have changed, a lot of their backstories (especially Robert’s) have changed, place names have changed, etc. All the mob stuff was obviously my stuff anyway, so that can stay. But I’ve tried to take “Emmerdale” out of it as much as possible. 

As for posting it on AO3, that’s where things get tricky. If I say there why I’m pulling it, I risk losing my account, which I very much want to keep so I can write more Robron stuff in the future. So... yeah. 

From my other ask.. you should also notify people on the Robron tag. Really! I’m in an great place now, but half a year ago if I saw this fic was just gone I would have fallen apart. When I say it saved me it honestly did.. I was in a really bad place of SH feeling dirty and worthless and this fic made me feel worthy of help. A therapist that was actually paid for through a child victims program that I didn’t think I deserved to use before reading this. So SO happy it will be a book for others!

OHHHH dang okay. So I SAW this ask a while back then forgot to actually answer it.

Since I’m p much incapable of not rambling about shit, I’ll just shove this under a Read More. I doubt the majority of my followers are here for my ‘me’ stuff, and I can respect that. (i am doing fingerguns here. you cant see them but they are here.)

Should probably start off by saying that I haven’t been able to get into any good books in a while. Like, actually sink my teeth in and live vicariously and all that. Not since leaving college. Work and all that. Maybe I’ll pick up some audiobooks or something though. 

And as much as I’d like to get pretentious and list some classics of philosophy or political theory, I can’t say that those are my favorites. I just like being made to think, and they let me stretch whatever grey matter I had back in the day. 

And I wish that I had some good queer literature to suggest, but the best I can do is recommend the graphic novel Fun Home. Not sure if that counts as a ‘book’ or not, but. Eh. 

And everyone knows about Lord of the Rings. That’s like. Real fuckin mainstream. Also I feel weird saying anything from that series, since my sister is the True Fan of the household. She incorporated it into her law school applications ffs. As much as I like the series, it never really felt like it was mine. Not in a Representation way because I can picture the characters however I fucking want, text be damned, but in a ‘Yeah I Compare Myself to Other People Way Too Much’ way. 

I guess for like... Narrative Fiction, I really liked the Redwall series as a kid? Martin The Warrior was the first book I read that had a bittersweet ending, and I’ve been chasing that melancholy ever since. But the series was overall pretty light-hearted and enjoyable. If you ignore all the death and killing and wars and political intrigue. Focus on the adorable woodland creatures!!

Like sure, I read plenty of books outside of Elementary school, but I think those were the ones I enjoyed the most. Got a lotta nostalgia. Kinda wanna go back and read those and get stupidly-hungry for the vegan feasts that were constantly happening and getting described in excruciating detail as a 5th grader version of me eyed the clock to see how much longer until lunch.

UHHH so TL;DR: Read the Redwall series, if you want a nice, hefty stack of books to consume semi-mindlessly? 

There were probably a lot of things that went over my head, but they were a fun read OKAY?? im too defensive im sorry

On another note, I think that the next book I consume is going to be Dawn, by Octavia Butler. I’ve heard a lot about her stories, and they sound REALLY INTERESTING AND GOOD. So. If I end up reblogging a bunch of stuff related to that, you can be assured that I ended up reading it.  👍

My sister has been reading a lot lately, and has a lot of love for the Court of Thorns and Roses series. It’s a fantasy-romance-court-drama-smut series that apparently gets into some themes surrounding trauma and abuse? I don’t know- I only have her word to go off of. She really wants me to read it, as long as I don’t judge her taste in smut. I don’t know how I feel about reading the same smut as my sister. And knowing that my sister has read said smut. It feels Weird.

i have a lil canon divergent trans vanya story that’s been on the slow cooker in the back of my mind, here’s what i’ve got so far. his name is ivan bc vanya is a diminutive of ivan and also ivan is a cool name that slaps hard

- he sits down to write the book and does actual introspection for the first time in his life and he’s like ohhh my god im not a girl. idk for sure what i am yet but it sure as hell isn’t a girl. so he calls up diego and is like “hey so you’re trans” and diego is like “.......hello to you too” and ivan’s like “okay so fun fact! so am i” and diego is popping bottles

- diego comes over and mayhaps they both get a little drunk and diego’s like so what’s up? and ivan is like “okay so i was writing this tell all memoir about our childhood-” and diego goes i’m gonna stop you right there. no you absolutely are not. so the book doesn’t get written, ivan and diego get a lot closer, and ivan doesn’t burn bridges with the rest of his siblings

- after a while ivan is like fuck it......hrt time. he goes to the doctor and the conversation goes a lil like this: doctor: are you on any prescription medications? :) ivan: uhhh yeah 500000 milligrams of fuckshit, take twice a day and supplement as needed :) doctor, picking up the phone: okay so we’re checking you into the hospital right now immediately. also i think you need to fire or maybe kill your psychiatrist 

- so he gets off the meds way sooner! this has two major impacts: he learns about his powers, and he gets more in touch with his emotions. his powers scare the hell out of him but he’s got diego, and klaus too when he’s reachable (he/they solidarity)! klaus is the one who puts it together that allison must have rumored him and it’s a good thing she’s on the other side of the country bc in that moment ivan may have killed her. but she’s not, and he has time to calm down and process how he feels about it.

- he gets a lot more confidence and self esteem and starts going to Real Therapy. he becomes much closer with his coworkers at the orchestra, he gets second chair, the kids he tutors LOVE him. one day he and allison are able to have a (mostly) civil talk about it and they start rebuilding that bridge together, allison even invites him to a couple movie premieres. there are still setbacks and bad days and things aren’t perfect but they’re getting better and god they could be so much worse 

- so all in all things are going pretty well! the Conflict would come from reginald somehow realizing that ivan’s off the meds but like i don’t actually have any more details, i just think it would be interesting

- i think the apocalypse could still happen, but it would be a result of reginald himself trying to contain ivan rather than what actually happens in s1. it would be interesting though bc five wouldn’t have ivan’s book in the future and wouldn’t know anything about what happened after he left

well...i had to take my drivers test but i had no idea how to park so i mean obvs i was gonna fail 💀 so i got super anxious and then had a breakdown in the back seat when it was getting closer to my turn 😭 my parents had to reschedule it and take me home. i felt like such a disappointment. so it started off absolutely horrible, fortunately the rest of the day was a lot better but oof 🤪

[i don’t have the wiki pulled up or anything so obligatory disclaimer that i might misremember some things. also, im gonna throw all of this under the cut because this is going to be more of a stream of consciousness than an actually coherent thing]

SOUL SANCTUM

let’s just get this out of the way first - love love love love love the music holy shit. it’s not something i’d listen to when i want to chill out, but oooohhhhh those organs. and when the whispers are in there too?? and “Mage Under Glass” with the laughter??? yesss

Anyway. In general, I’m a sucker for unethical laboratories in stories and games. There’s so much potential for fucked up and creative ideas within canon and in the fan characters/interpretations (I’m looking at you, Fraught. i love you, you fucked up spider <3). 

How do you get soul? you harvest it. and you get on the king’s bad side in the process of course. and the watcher’s too, im sure. lurien’s like, ‘hey wtf those bugs are citizens under my watch. stop it’ and ‘well fuck you, im gonna point my telescope right into your office window, you soul bastard. i can read all the notes on your fucked up experiments now. whatcha gonna do now?’

How unethical were the experiments before the radiance’s insidious presence became a factor? Even if the Sanctum started as a safe place of learning, I think it wouldn’t have taken long for at least some of the bugs to start doing questionable things. Not everyone needs a moth to nudge them to cross the ethics line. But when the soul master changed course, set the scholars to study immortality, what did they focus on? improving the body so it won’t slow and cease its function as time passes? prolonging the stability of the mind so age doesn’t corrupt memories or cognition? focusing on a bug’s own soul to do something that way? any combination of this could fuck up the stability of the mind and/or body of the subjects. That’s where we get the mistakes/follies, right? too much soul for some that cause melting pretty quickly. for others that don’t have a negative reaction right away, maybe a dependency on soul is built up and must be maintained to stave off negative effects of withdrawal, then of course there’s a shortage. you can’t harvest bodies forever. maybe the souls of the infected bugs aren’t viable, maybe the infection taints them, spreads the infection to whatever bug absorbs it. there are options here.

There’s also the soul warriors. They have dream dialogue where they say something about not remembering how they have these moves or how to fight or something like that, right? so what if those bugs had souls of trained fighters like city sentries implanted in them? they suddenly have new instincts for situations that they themselves didn’t experience or train for. i kinda get neuromod vibes from this concept (from the game Prey). 

Also, the parallels between the soul master and the pale king are neat. they both have corpse pits. they both think they’re hot shit (and to be fair, they are both powerful even if they’re in different leagues). the radiance directly fucks with both of them. neither of them admit defeat in their final dream nail dialogue. (iirc, arty-cakes has made a similar observation about the parallels, but i noticed this long before they made their post. still, it’s a good observation)

...skitter skitter skitter skitter...

i feel so sorry for anyone who has arachnophobia and couldn’t enjoy the game because of this area. that sucks. this is one of my fave areas specifically because of the skitters and clicks and snaps and wibbly music/sound effects that occasionally made my skin crawl. 

im a fan of spiders and centipedes, and deepnest delivered! 

i have a lot of headcanon stuff for deepnest society and beasts that has little to do with the game or established lore, so i’ll leave that for another time. But for more game-related stuff, let’s see...

i think nosks and corpse creepers and grub mimics, if not different life stages of the same species, are at least related. like how wild cats and cheetahs and panthers are related but not the same. nosks have the most developed shape shifting capabilities, and they have a sort of pocket dimension that they can fold their body into so they can fit into smaller disguises (how else do you explain how large the infected nosk actually is compared to the much smaller knight that it ran around as to lure the player in? magical dimension powers is what i’ve decided)

the weaver’s den showed much more development of architecture. more metal and arches and stuff. i can’t recall to what extent the basic shapes and materials reflect parts of hallownest, but i think that place was a more recent development compared to the rest of the Beasts’ infrastructure.

PK reeeaaallllyyyyy wanted to get a tram all the way across deepnest, didn’t he? we get one tram to the eastern edge which conveniently takes riders to the ancient basin below where most of hallownest’s citizens are. but then the failed tramway that heads for the distant village. could it have been one of the lesser conditions of herrah’s and pk’s agreement? but herrah would be asleep so she wouldn’t need the tram to visit the palace or have hornet visit her. but why else would a tram be intended to cross to there? idk that one doesn’t make much sense to me. maybe i’m forgetting a detail, but whatever.

deepnest is a horrible maze that i will continue to get lost in.

[bonus - okay i’ll share this:  one of the made-up swears i use for my beast character is “writhing mass” in reference to the skittering, scuttling pit of writhing things found as an area hazard in lieu of acid. like “bloody hell” or something haha. also it’s just fun to say.]

MANTIS VILLAGE

Alas, i don’t spend a whole lot of time in this area. I think the mantids are cool and honorable, and i apologize for my weaverlings attacking friendly mantids, but sometimes a little deepnest should be allowed to cause mayhem in the mantis village, okay?

mantis lords/sisters of battle are great boss fights. the choreography and smoothness and reflexes and aaaahhhh yeah

i seriously wonder what’s up with all the giant spikes though. like. not even deepnest has giga-spikes like that. ......actually. i wonder if those spikes are there in case the beasts overrun the village. they’d certainly be painful obstacles to beasts trying to climb out of the village and into the fungal wastes.

I think it would’ve been cool if there had been some bit of dialogue or a lore tablet that hinted at the mantis traitors. i know there’s the broken throne, but i didn’t notice that; it was pointed out to me after i’d already played once or twice through the game. don’t get me wrong- it’s a cool little thing to look back on and be like ‘i see what you did there’. environmental storytelling or whatever. but i’d like a little more anyway.

i wonder how the fungal folk feel about the mantids. i imagine they occupy their own sections of the fungal wastes and just mutually don’t bother each other. i wonder how diplomacy would work between a mantis of individual mind and a mushroom of shared consciousness? they make a nice contrast in a sharp and cutting/soft and bludgeoning way as well as a swift and silent/energetic and noisy way with how they attack and stuff.

OH MY GOD THANK YOU OKAY OKAY I HAVE SO MUCH UHHH okay first ill talk about my recent project im doing, and it’s a suprise DND game for two of my irls with our characters!!!! ill be dming the game and im making the plot around our own character plot!!! WAWAWA JFDKLSFJ its taking so much out cause ive never dm’d before lmao but also the research is so fun??? like idk i have like two or three pages of notes already and now i have the base of a map done i just need to add like landmarks and just bbbbbbb okay okay uh . i can infodump about the actual characters i suppose! they’re called the “Royal Rebels”, or the RR for short. The four characters are named Ryan, Star, JC, and Mia! in the dnd compain here are theyre classes and races -Ryan: Paladin Tiefling -Star: Cleric Fairy -JC: Sorcerer Human -Mia: Rogue Changeling in their canon the reason they all have these certain powers and races, is cause ryan lives with his grandparents, who are a priest, hence the paladin class. in the canon, ryan is essentailly born with a demon possesson type deal, and so i choose a tiefling to give him that ‘demonic’ kinda look! star is the daughter of the mayor, and so i made her a cleric. the fairy idea i stole from one of the irls cause the picture i used was great (if i remember ill reblog this with some images?).  jc is a fire witch (there are multiple different types of witches in this universe, like time, fire, nature, necromancy, water, ect), and so i made her a sorcerer so she is natually able to just do magic ! and then human cause she just fit the bill and finally, mia. her bloodline was cursed so the women couldn’t have children and that they’re bodies can tear itself apart painfully. But! the women found a loophole to still have children, but the curse seemed to be genetic. thats why Mia is able to shapeshift! so! i made her a changeling in the dnd game! and i made her a rogue because she’s sneaky.

okay hmmm what else okay okay uhhhh i suppose i could talk about the man in my pfp, percy de rolo the 3rd! i love him so much he’s wawawa i dont actually have any thoughts on him its like the pondering the orb no think meme lmao he’s just rotating in my mind he’s from a show called the legend of vox machina, imo it’s very good BUT IT HAS A LOT OF TRIGGERING TOPICS like a lot. so if any of yall reading this wanna watch it be warned it gets very serious at times

okay okay ill talk about this a guess im currently attempting to like write my own original book! (you can find some of the chapters out already on @adudelolwriting cough couhg). It’s called Last Generation, and it’s essentally like a post apocolypic world where the main characters, Solace, Zoya, and Nieko all live together. I won’t get much inito the plot cause i dont wanna spoil it, but its gonna be found family >:]

speaking of orginal books, i can talk about my other one along with LG (Last Generation), I’m also writing another book called The Powers Within (TPW for short). This one has been in the works muuuuuch longer than LG (which I started this year, I think? I’ve been trying to write TPW for about five or six years now). I’ve never been quiiiite happy with how it turns out, buttt oh well lmao It’s a mystery story about a group of kids who live in a school. They’ve always lived there, since they have powers, or as the school calls them, ‘gifts’. Each student has different powers, and a certain group of kids come together once they figure out somethings up with the school principal...

and uhhhh yeah i think thats it ! i can’t think of anything else to talk about rn buuut oh well lmao. you can actually probably see some of the TPW characters in @adudelolocinfodump but im not sure which ones as i havent updated it in forever lmao fjkdsjk
