Alt and Bro step into their apartment- and Alt is immediately tackled by a black yowling bolt of fur. Alt yelps and skids to the floor, then bursts into laughter. “Glitches!! Oh it’s so good to see the real you!!” He giggles as he kisses her cheeks. Glitches purrs loudly like a motorboat. Chase laughs.

There’s someone behind him that startles up with a gasp. Semi-blended into the couch with his yellow sweatshirt. “Alt?! Chase?!!”

Alt freezes and quickly gets back up,  holding Glitches in his arms. “O-Oli??”

It is Oliver, his eyes brimming with tears as he laughs wetly. “Y-you’re okay!” He pushes himself to rush at Alt and hugs him tightly. Alt is stiff but then his lip warbles and he timidly hugs Oliver back. “y-you… you were- w-why are you here?” Alt asks breathlessly.

“Last the others heard from you- you were overdosing and Chase took you the hospital and then y-you were just gone! They came rushing to our office to try to find you but we hadn’t seen you! I… I had been crashing here cuz i… I dunno I figured you might come back here and we’ve been trying to look and t-the others just left to get food and… god I’m so glad you’re okay!” Ollie cries quietly, curling his arms around Alt’s neck.

“You know I was gonna make a sarcastic ‘hey I’m here too’ comment but like- yeah this is a valid reaction.” Bro says with an awkward laugh.

Oliver laughs and this and shakes his head. “I-I’m glad you’re okay too, Chase.”

“H-How long were we gone…?” Alt asks.

Oliver lets him go and leans back to give him a look. “…you didn’t know??”

“No uh… it’s such a long story but I take it the others told you about the other guys that came here? And the rifts?” Alt asks.

Oliver nods, “Yeah… I-it’s still really confusing… all this magic stuff but… t-they tried to explain.”

“We got sucked in with them… we were going in and out of worlds with no way back. But I-it’s okay now…!” Alt says as he takes one of Oliver’s hands, “We’re… we’re okay… mostly.”

“Yeah mostly… you both look like you need to be looked at,” Oliver says with a raised eyebrow.

“C’mon Doc!” Bro tries to say.

“Chase, I keep telling you I’m not a doctor ye-!” Oliver interrupts.

Then the doorknob to the apartment starts to jingle- and 3 other heads pop in, Jackie leading the charge with a bag of groceries. He’s ruffling his hair and starting to talk, “Ol, I know you’re worried but Hen said you hadn’t been eating much so we’re making dinner instead of take ou-!”

He looks up and blinks- and Henny and Dr. J gasp. Jackie makes a pog face then drops the bag to point dramatically at Alt and Bro, “you fucking son of bitches!! Do you have any idea how fucking worried we’ve been?! 3 fucking days!! Where the hell were you?!”

Bro and Alt look at him wide-eyed- then Bro bursts into laughter. “Oh man… I missed you bud.” He goes over to pick up the bag and heads to the kitchen. “there enough in here for everyone? We can catch you all up over dinner- me and Alt’s treat.”

“What?? Chase, you know I can’t cook!” Alt exclaims.

Jackie blinks in confusion then laughs lightly, “Alright… better just make it on you then, Chase. Seems like Oliver and Alt wanna catch up together anyways.” He smirks at the both of them.

Alt and Ollie both blush and quickly look away from each other.

Henny and Dr. J chuckle behind their hands.

“Go go you two!! Dinner will be a bit it seems!” Henny grins.

Alt stammers, face even more red. Oliver giggles and takes Alt’s hand. “C’mon…”

“…you’re gonna use this as an excuse to patch me up aren’t you?” Alt mutters.

“Only a little bit. With some kisses in between- does that make it better?” Ollie giggles.

“…maybe a little-”

JJ walks out into his house. It's been a while since he saw it. How long had he been wandering the worlds?

"Mister! What happened?!" A voice echoes down the hallway. "Somet'ing spook ye?"

JJ's heart soars. He whistles, a loud sound meant for attention.

"H-huh?!"

Footsteps rush down the hallway—more than one set. And suddenly, Schneep, Jackie, and Anti burst into the entrance hall. "Holy shit!" Anti gasps. "Jameson! I-is that really you?"

"It is!" Schneep nods excitedly.

"JJ!" Jackie rushes forward, giving him a big hug. JJ laughs and stumbles backwards, returning the embrace. "What happened to you?! Was it Distorter? Was it IRIS? Are you alright?" He backs away, scanning JJ with his eyes. "You seem alright."

It's a long story, JJ says. He starts going down the corridor. What are you all doing here?

"Fucking talking about you, Jackson," Anti mumbles, following him. "You can't fucking disappear for three days and not expect us to worry."

"I do not think he meant to disappear," Schneep says.

JJ pokes his head through an ajar door and into the room beyond. Marvin's bedroom. As expected, Marvin is there, already making his way to the doorway. He stops, eyes going wide. "Jems?" he breathes. "Y-you... you're alrigh'?"

Smiling, JJ nods. I'm alright. More or less. Very exhausted.

"Oh t'ank god." Marvin collapses back onto the nearest chair, sitting down heavily. Mr. Fluffington trots up to JJ, sniffing him, and JJ bends over to pet his head. "What the hell happened?! Wh-where did you go? I waited for what must've been ten minutes, and t'en you didn' answer any of my messages! I-I t'ought—we all t'ought—"

I'm sorry to have worried you all, JJ says. But Volt is right, I didn't mean to disappear. It's a long story. But it's nobody's fault. It wasn't Distorter or IRIS or anything.

"Well what happened, then?!" Jackie asks.

"Yeah, fucking what?" Anti asks as well.

JJ laughs. It's going to take a while, I think. We should head to the kitchen. Make dinner. I'm starving.

"O'course." Marvin pushes himself to his feet again. "Let's go. I'm... so glad you're alrigh'."

JJ nods. I am. And honestly? You're all not going to believe what happened. Remember that time we went to another world? He starts to explain to everyone as they all walk down the hall towards the kitchen. This is going to take a while. And then... he's going to need some rest.

Jackie looks around. It's almost strange to be back in Frederick's house after all that. "Uh... hello?" he calls out.

Something clatters in the kitchen. "Jackie?!" Chase turns around and rushes on over. "Oh my god, you found him! Fucking finally!"

"You're welcome," Anti says, and glitches over to sit on the sofa.

"Frederick!" Chase shouts. "He found Jackie! He's here now!"

"What?!" The shout comes from down the hallway. Suddenly, Frederick is there, tackling Jackie in a tight hug. "Oh my god! Jackieboy! You're okay! Thank the heavens, thank the gods, thank fucking everyone!"

Jackie tries to laugh it off, but some tears start to line his eyes. "Y-yeah, I'm back. I... missed you guys."

"We missed you too, Jackie," Chase whispers. He hesitates, then walks on over, joining the hug.

Frederick presses a kiss against Jackie's cheek.

A moment passes. Then Jackie starts to wiggle. "Alright alright, e-enough of the—the sappy shit. H-how have things been here? Did you guys know where I was?"

Frederick withdraws, Chase right behind him. "Anti told us," he says. "Something about a rift to different worlds. He says there's a chance more of them might appear."

"Really?" Jackie looks back at Anti.

"Unfortunately," Anti says. "So I suggest you guys all stick together for a while."

"Great, I love being a third wheel!" Chase says, cheerfully sarcastic.

Jackie laughs and puts a hand on his shoulder. "Good to hear you make comments like that. Missed them, really."

"How about I make you some tea, melon?" Frederick asks. "And then, if you want to talk about what happened, we can do it over drinks."

Jackie smiles. "That sounds great."

Schneep feels the air suddenly shift, becoming slightly warmer—huh, the space in-between didn't really have much of a temperature at all. Isn't that strange? But that must mean he's somewhere else now—

"Holy shit! Schneep!"

Schneep gasps and whirls towards the sound. "Chase?!" No, not just him. He can feel—all of them. All of his friends.

"Schneep!" Jackie shouts. He rushes over. "I'm hugging you now!"

"Whoa, hey—!"

Too late, Jackie already has him in a tight squeeze. "We were so worried!"

"A-are you okay?!" Jack asks, hurrying over. Chase, JJ, and Marvin are right behind him. "You just—disappeared one day. I-it's been so fucking worrying!"

Like back then. JJ knocks on a wooden surface, relaying his words through morse code.

"I can imagine," Schneep mutters. "Ah, where am I?"

"We're all in Jameson's shop," Marvin explains. "We thought there might be some way to find you. Cause when—when neither me or him could track you, we—we sort of freaked out. Y...you're okay, right?"

"I am fine, I promise." Schneep reaches out and pats his shoulder. "It is a long story. But I am not surprised you couldn't track me. I was... in a very strange place. Multiple very strange places, actually. Ah, do you all remember those two visitors from another world a while ago?"

"With that freaky black magic magician guy?" Chase asks.

"Yes, them. Oh, I suppose Jackie and Marvin would not remember, though."

"Uhhhh..." Jackie hums. "I remember... something very strange. A... third half..."

"There can't be three halves of anything, Jackie," Marvin mutters.

"You know what I mean!"

"I do, I do."

"Right, th-that did happen when they were here," Jack says. "But what does that have to do with your disappearance?"

"I was sucked to their world," Schneep explains. "And I was not alone."

That's crazy, JJ says.

"It was, it was. Well... it was not all bad," Schneep says. "Here, I can sit down and tell you all about it."

"Let's go upstairs into the apartment, then," Chase suggests.

"Great idea." Schneep nods. He takes out his cane and gets his bearings. "Is the staircase... this way?"

Yep, JJ confirms. Let's go.

"Start telling us on the way, okay?" Jack says. "This sounds fucking wild."

Schneep chuckles "It was. And... we may see them again soon." He still remembers what that giant Sam told him, sending the feeling of the missing part directly into his mind. It will be difficult, but the least he could do is find it for his new friends.

He couldn't wait to see them again.

S2 E16 Roadkill - There's a ghost haunting the highway. the Boys help the spirit move on. This is an early example of monster empathy

S2 E18 Hollywood Babylon - Dean loves hollywood. I love dean. this episode makes me kick my feet like a little girl and i will not defend myself.

S2 EP 20 What Was Shall Never Be - all I have in my notes for this one is "Dean Djinn Dream" which was enough for me to remember the episode and get misty eyes. This is SEASON 2 my son will never know peace.

So I can usually parse at least a VAGUE idea of what something's about based on out-of-context gifsets but I'm coming up totally blank on what the hell this Haven show's about. The only thing I think I've figured out about it is that I like this Duke guy's face. So uh.... what's it about? XD (and is it worth a watch?)

Intro

Based on the Stephen King novella “The Colorado Kid”, this Canadian-American Syfy series is set in the quaint, seaside town of Haven, Maine (actually filmed in Nova Scotia, so it looks the part), where many of the local residents harbor supernatural afflictions referred to by the locals as “Troubles”. The Troubles have always existed - but have a habit of coming and going throughout the ages - and the quirky, standoffish townsfolk are understandably wary of strangers.

Main Cast

Enter Audrey Parker (Emily Rose), a spunky, beautiful FBI agent with a mysterious past who visits Haven on what she believes to be a routine assignment to track down a fugitive, only to find herself in wayyy over her head. She feels drawn to this town she has most definitely never been to before in an eerie, unsettling way, and she just can't seem to leave. Hmmm. Maybe she isn't such an outsider after all? *strokes mustache*

Immediately upon her arrival, Audrey has a run in with the local law. Meet Nathan Wuornos (Lucas Bryant), the stiff, serious, emotionally-constipated, handsome Haven PD detective with daddy issues and a rare medical condition which prevents him from feeling any (physical) sensation... neither pleasure nor pain. Can Audrey break down the walls around his carefully-guarded heart and help him feel something? Anything?

And then there's Duke. Nathan's beloved sworn enemy frenemy since childhood, Duke Crocker (Eric Balfour) is a swashbuckling smuggler and pirate (no, actually), who also has daddy issues. And mommy issues. Just... ALL the issues. He is snarky, charming, rogue-ishly good-looking... and almost always doing something super illegal sketchy, but he secretly has a heart of gold, okay? Solid, piratey gold. We like his face. We like his character development even more.

Surrounded by a cast of delightfully peculiar and endearing supporting characters, this odd throuple (BROT3? OT3? NOT3? You decide...) have to figure out exactly how they are all connected and why the universe has brought them together now, of all times.

Plot

You like a particular trope? This show's got it! There's romance. There's mystery. There's humor. There's angst. There's fluff (but a high angst-to-fluff ratio, just the way I like it). There's magic and curses. There are ghosts and monsters and shapeshifters and aliens... oh my! There's body-swapping. There are dimensional/space/time travel hijinks. There's a TARDIS in the form of an old barn. There's... reanimated taxidermy...

Anyway, it's an interesting premise with some truly stellar characters, relationship dynamics, and character development/arcs, and, as the series unfolds, there are some really good plot twists and reveals.

Caveat

(PARTIAL SPOILER ALERT: I must warn you, there is a major character death at the end of S5, and it's pretty upsetting to watch. If you can't handle main character deaths, you might not want to watch that far... or at all. Personally, I'm glad I did, even though it hurt like hell... but it will 100% haunt me forever.)

"change" for the main cast of shiido's story

change: Has your OC ever drastically changed their appearance? Significant haircuts, big tattoos, complete wardrobe swap, etc? Why? How do they feel about the change?

Uh let's see. The most obvious is probably Naru's. Though Shiido wasn't around for her biggest wardrobe change, so once she has the black dress, her style doesn't change that much until she starts experimenting in teenhood, and even then she still goes for the black dress around Waizu. It kinda ends up becoming her uniform in a way.

Beyond that... The next person to have a significant wardrobe change gets into spoiler territory, but I will say that character is a resounding yes for wardrobe change, though it's not intentional on his end. He gets his clothes made ragged and some of our island friends have to help him out. :3c He comes to like his new clothes eventually, though he's not used to them at first since they're very different from what he's used to and there's more surface area for sunburn, which an ouch he also has to account for. XD When Shiido meets this guy again it's almost like meeting a totally different person in a lot of ways. :3c

Beyond that major one, Naru and Shiido do get some wardrobe shifts as they grow up, but nothing in the category of major beyond Naru's teenhood experimentation I mentioned earlier. Thanks for the ask!

Lucifer stumbled backwards when he finally looked in the mirror. He was hyperventalating as he saw Satan in the mirror. The bedroom door opened and Satan walked in with a concerned look. The demons had swiched bodies somehow. Of course neither knowing what the fuck happened.

Satan walked up to him and Luci pushed himself back and nearly cut his arm on the dresser. "Woah woah!! Calm down!" Satan shut the door and locked it before anyone could spy on them. He went to his brothers side and knelt with him. Lucid was hyperventalating and shaking. "I can't... This... I have so much too do!!" Lucifer stumbled over his words as tears poured down his cheeks. Satan pulled the massive coat off his shoulders and draped it onto his panicking brother to try and calm him. Lucifer clutched it tight and grit his teeth hard. "Don't do that, you'll break your....er.... My teeth." Satan sat on the floor with him and gently rubbed his back. "How.... How did this happen...?!??" Lucifer tried to say softly but almost screamed, not really thinking about the others hearing him. Though Satan wasn't even worried, considering this was an emergency.

"Whatever happens, we're gonna figure it out. It's going to be ok." Satan pulled him into a soft hug and closed his eyes. "Ok..." Luci squeaked out through tears.

Punk Hazard- Sanji and Nami having body swap antics. Honestly the whole body swap thing was funny for everyone involved, but these two obviously had the best moments.

Zou- When Law just bluntly told Zoro how bad his sense of direction was.

Whole Cake- The scene where Sanji carried Nami like a princess. Honestly I liked their chemistry throughout the entire arc.

Quick response to Mandalorian season finale

Behind a cut because, well.

Okay, yes, I am in this show for Dadalorian and Found Family etc. But I am at least as invested in the plotline this season about various factions of Mandalorians and their, for lack of a better word, sectarian disputes. Which frequently result in barfights. Because Mandalorians.

(AKA that scene where they picked up Bo and her minion was. A Delight.)

(Also, I love my girl Bo-Katan. Even if she’s very much a blunt instrument/not a politician going at this in all the wrong ways and was Very Rude to Boba but tbh I wasn’t 100% sure she was going to show up in this episode and I would’ve been Sad if we hadn’t gotten to see them meet. Either here or next season.)

(Still Sad at the lack of Sabine, though :( )

Leaving aside anything re: Gina Caranno (because that has been discussed by people much smarter and better-informed than myself), I’m kind of thrilled that the strike team was Almost Entirely Ladies.

(On that note. Uh. Does anyone else kinda. That little “Anyone else, we can take” smirk. And I just. Uh. Bo/Fennec, anyone??????)

Also the sound/almost-music when the Cylons Dark Troopers were activating was Excellent I approve.

And that Visual of the one trooper Din set on fire. ...honestly that whole hallway fight sequence was pretty Brilliant.

And the sort of...almost casual layer of the scene in the elevator. Even if these women haven’t worked together before, just that, “sure you don’t need any help with that?” “I got it. Excuse me.”

And that whole thing where Gideon was trying to Manipulate Din and he was like “...dude, I legit just care about the kid. I’ll fight for/with Bo-Katan because she’s pretty badass and I Might As Well plus she gets me what I want but I don’t...actually...Care about her Greater Cause?”

(Side note, I’ve spent a lot of time writing Bo-Katan/figuring out how her head works and literally all she cares about is Mandalore and its survival. It’s why she broke away from her sister in the first place, and has informed every single thing she’s done since. A lot of why she makes the specific choices she does goes back to the Mandalorian Civil War and her experiences there--especially since all the evidence indicates she was not with Satine and Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon. The way that separation and their different experiences of that conflict probably contributed to the eventual destruction of what seems likely to have been a Very Close Relationship before that is fascinating to me. And the subject of a fic I’ve been working on off and on for a couple years now, lol.)

(...anyway, where I was going with this was--I mean, yes, Gideon knows everything in terms of facts, but he doesn’t always interpret them correctly. IMO, Bo-Katan’s desire to rule Mandalore is less about power (for herself) than it is about Mandalore. Especially given some of what she says to Sabine in Rebels--if there was someone else she genuinely trusted to take the throne and rule her world, she’d be willing to cede her claim and be one of their generals. Especially since she’s very much not a political animal. She’s an excellent war leader, but not so much in terms of actual Governance.)

(insert long ramble about the Parallels between her and Anakin, which I touched on in one of my fanfics, lol; and will probably do more with in my BB project which involves the two of them and Padme as the main characters)

(And, yeah, she does want to fight Din for the right, but if she thought Din would be a good Duke/King of Mandalore, I think she would seriously considering swearing allegiance to him? Again, witness how she handled things with Sabine. Also she would probs prefer to avoid a third (fourth?) civil war in her lifetime. But, I mean. I love Din but he is. He is not a Leader. Not like her people need.)

(And I think the way things played out with Sabine affects her decisions here, too--she did accept the Darksaber as a gift/tribute then, but proceeded to lose it. Maybe she does need to fight for it the way Maul and Viszla did (presumably; we don’t know how he got the Darksaber; it may be something he inherited/have been held by House Viszla for a while, even if they never used it to dethrone the Kryzes until now).)

(But, then again, I mean, this has been her life for at least a decade, so...well, maybe she wouldn’t quite step aside. Even if an Absolutely Perfect candidate came along. But WRT Din specifically--given who he is and what he’s capable of, while she absolutely wants him in her camp (and on a personal level isn’t super thrilled about having to fight him like this; she seems to genuinely like this kid), my guess is she doesn’t want him ruling. Not without some more actual leadership training/experience. Because, well, he’s been either a follower or a loner in everything we’ve seen him in, and given Bo’s opinion of (possibly experience with?) the Watch/the group who raised him, and the fact that he’s consistently shown himself to have super-narrow priorities and not really caring about much outside of them...yeah, she probs has some Concerns.)

(Plus, he clearly doesn’t want it. And you have to Want It on some level in order to be an effective ruler--that Wanting can be from genuine altruism/wanting to make the world better, like we see with Bail and Padme; it can be from single-minded determination to Make Things Right, like Satine and I would argue Bo-Katan (Leia falls into either the first or second category, depending on the point in her storyline); and it can come from a desire for personal power and advancement (as we see with Pre Viszla and, of course, Skeev Palpatine himself; to be fair, rulers in this third category tend to be bad in other ways lol). But someone who genuinely doesn’t want power generally kind of Sucks when they’re unexpectedly handed it. Which I could cite several IRL historical examples of. And, I mean, obviously, this isn’t the only factor in play for what makes a good ruler/leader (see above re: Palps and Pre Viszla), but it is a factor.)

(Also, to clarify: none of these are bad qualities/traits, necessarily? Like, traits are good or bad depending on whatever context a person/character finds themself in. And in Din’s current context, with his current life and mission--even in situations where he has to coordinate with other groups in the service of a larger goal--these are excellent traits to have. But for someone who’s responsible for an entire nation? Not so much.)

(One could argue that Bo has some Issues there, too, albeit different ones, which is why I think she might be willing to step aside and cede her claim to a Genuinely Good/Better Alternative, if she found one. She’s a war-leader, not a ruler, and the two jobs require overlapping but different skillsets.)

(..........honestly? I don’t think the show would go there, but I think the two of them as a team/partnership ruling Mandalore would actually be really effective? Either on an equal footing or with one as the Official Ruler and the other as a second-in-command/right-hand. She has the leadership expertise and the actual will and drive to pull this off, and he has the diplomatic skill, as we see with the Tusken Raiders, among others.)

(Not a romantic partnership, lol, that would be Weird, but a political and probably eventually platonically affectionate one. Especially with how Mandalore feels about family of choice/adoption, and the fact that they’re both kind of alone now (whatever happened to Korkie, anyway??) even if no formal adoption is likely in their case...)

(also if there’s anyone who didn’t see Gideon trying to decapitate Din when his back was turned...IDEK what you were expecting. Like. I am All About guys like Pellaeon in the Imperial ranks, and the fact that there might be a few people who would make that offer/deal and be on the level. To say nothing of my best beloved Alexsandr Kallus. But. Uh. Gideon is. Not one of them.)

(Also, I thought it was a Nice Touch when the spear started turning red--because, no, the Darksaber can’t cut pure beskar. But it does generate heat, as we’ve seen in, say, TPM. And beskar does melt.)

Also, called it on tossing the Cylons Dark Troopers out the airlock Not Working in the long term.

While it’s not Cool or Flashy like a bomb or slicing, the Cylons Dark Troopers pounding the doors down with their goddamn fists was Cool and Terrifying in all the best ways.

Side note--I think even if I hadn’t been spoiled (forgot to mute the spoiler channels on the SW Discords I’m on before going to bed, and checked on autopilot), X-wing + Grogu perking up would’ve probably clued me in and I would’ve been SHRIEKING. I was still vibrating super hard even though I knew who was coming, but it probably would’ve been slightly more XD

(also, I mentioned this in my last quick reaction, as well as elsewhere, but I’m...still kind of uncomfortable with the continuing implication that the Jedi path is the only option other than Darkness. Not because it’s a bad one, either in the PT-era or with Luke’s reconstruction. But the idea that the only way to achieve the mindset/emotional stability/whatever needed to wield the Force without Falling is through adapting the Jedi philosophy sits wrong with me. especially the implication that you can only do so from an early age/in isolation from other influences or bonds; which is a word I’m using very specifically because there’s a difference between Attachment as defined by the Jedi and interpersonal bonds which they clearly have and I don’t want this to get derailed by that particular Discourse(tm) That doesn’t even super hold up on Earth, with a single species, let alone in a galaxy with trillions of beings of multiple different species. Basically, people and the galaxy--and by extension the Force, which is in part created/influenced by living beings--are way too complicated for there to be only one right answer.)

(Also, it...doesn’t really hold up with the core message of Star Wars, which is about Choice? If the only way you can be a Good Force Adept is by meeting this extremely narrow set of criteria, most of which are outside your possible control......but I should probably save this for a separate post, lol.)

(The point is, I mentioned earlier in the post how much I’m LOVING the throughline in this season about different factions/sects among Mandalorians, and I think it would be Great if we got more of that with Jedi/Light adepts.)

Right! So that was an Experience! Overall, I liked it. Looking forward to how Din and Bo handle things moving forward, in particular! Because, like I said, I’m in this series for Dadalorian (so IDK how I’ll feel with it no longer being the Core Story since Grogu left with Luke) and in this season for the Mandalorian factions/sects and how they interact.

I’m also not sure how I feel about three interconnected series leading up to a Major Finale Event? Disney’s Star Wars has not had a super great track record with giving all the information needed to follow things in the core product (see: the ST worldbuilding lol, and also some of the cameos/appearances in this season, even), so I’m Skeptical of how well they’ll do explaining what is Necessary in each of the three series, in case someone only watches one or two.

Omiri: Help me....

[A/N: I... Don’t really know how to explain this oneshot? I’ve been playing the game Omori lately, and god damn it’s, I’m relating to it a lot more than I thought I would, mainly in how the protag is. So as per my norm I ended up writing this after the scene in question happened.

Note, I, didn’t really think of using the protag(Sunny I’ve seen people call him? I named him Mono in my file so...), as with most games I tend to, insert a version of myself into it or use a oc to better help me figure out their headspace and how to write the world so to speak, plus I DID see there was concept art of a female Omori/Sunny, so I’ve, sort of used that here and tried to expand on a verse where I guess Sunny/the protag was a girl? With a fair amount of differences and my own additions I will eventually explain in a few cases? However I came up with my own designs for this character’s IRL form and dream self I’ll share later and she’s got her own name.

To keep this somewhat on track and so people don’t hopefully get mad at me if I title it Omori, I’ve decided to call this verse “Omiri”, as it wasn’t until after I decided on that name that I realized Omori is from the word Hikikomori, and since I believe a character swap au where Mari and Sunny swap place for one reason or another(I’ve been avoiding spoilers as best I can so I don’t fully know why) is the Hikiki verse, or something, soo Omiri works so hopefully people don’t get mad?

Anyway, the protag’s name is as follows, note I may change her real world name as I went for my default one involving part of my URL I normally use until I figure out a different one. IRL: Alira Omi Dream: Omiri

Note she is still related to Mari like Sunny is. Scene is when you’re over at Basil’s house for dinner. And with that I shall shush and let the fic speak for itself XD]

Alira froze when she heard Kel tell Basil she was moving, head immediately snapping up from her plate to look at Basil, who had completely froze, his hand dropping his spoon back into the bowl as he looked at Kel.

Kel, you dummy…!

“W-What? …” Basil’s tone was that of pure shock, expression one of a forced smile, and it made Alira want to hug him. “Alira’s… m-moving...?”

Kel, ever the oblivious one, continued. “Oh yeah! I thought I already mentioned it…” He took another bite of his food before going on. “I must have forgot.” Another bite. “She’s moving in… three days, I think?” He took another bite, but paused and gave an apologetic smile to Basil. “Sorry... I thought you already knew.”

“O-Oh… Uh...” his voice and smile were shaky, fragile, hardly holding it together. “No, I guess I must have missed it…” His expression cracked, just the slightest. “S-Sorry… Umm…” He pulled his expression together enough to make an embarrassed smile.  “M-May I be excused? I… I have to go to the bathroom.”

Polly gave him a nod and he quickly got up from his seat, rushing to the doorway to the rest of his house, but he paused and looked back at Alira, expression one of him close to tears, before he bolted into the hallway out of sight.

“What’s up with him?” Kel asked to no one in particular as Alira stared after her best friend, heart beating painfully in her chest as something painful gripped her heart. “Well, that’s just how it is. When you gotta go, you gotta go!”

“...If there are any leftovers, put them in a bag please, I like this.” Alira softly said as she quickly stood up, bowl still having some of the soup, and rushed after Basil after she put his photo album he gave her in her bag.

She looked at the door she remembered led to the bathroom and saw the light was off, regardless, she went over and entered.

“Everything is going to be okay…. Everything is going to be okay….” Even with the lights off, she could still see well enough to see Basil, gripping at his head, and shaking as he stood there, desperately saying to himself. “Everything is going to be okay… Everything is going to be okay…”

She could also see what looked to be a dark shadow on the floor, in the shape of vines or roots coming from a tree, pulsing beneath his feet. Her mind immediately recognized it as something like, the thing haunting her….

The door behind her shut with an audible click as the knob slipped from her grip, causing Basil to whirl around to look at her, clearly startled as he said shakily. “O-Oh… It’s you… Alira…” He forced a smile. “You’re here… I’m so glad…”

She stepped towards him in concern as he then asked. “You… You can see it too, can’t you? Something… behind you….”

She felt the hair on the back of her neck, with her hair currently up in that loose bun Basil had generously done for her earlier, standing up on end at that as she felt that familiar feeling of her Something right behind her.

Her expression quirked in fear, and she forced herself to not look at the mirror behind Basil as she walked up to him, and where he got a better look at her expression, which he was quick to ask about as his own quirked in concerned fright. “Alira… W-Why… Why do you look so scared?”

She felt her hand shaking as she brought up her hand to bite on the side of it in an attempt to calm herself, shutting her eyes as she shakily tried to will it to go away. “It’s not behind me it’s not behind me…” She breathed in, calming down just enough to open her eyes and walk up to the bathroom mirror. It was not going to be there, it couldn’t, it shouldn’t, she told it to go away...

“It’s not there... it’s not there... it’s not-” The desperate mantra she was uttering stopped, when she spotted that black mass, with the one eye, peering at her from over her shoulder. Staring, haunting, judging-

She inhaled sharply as she stepped back, eyes filling with tears without delay, and she spun around before crashing into Basil, almost knocking him over as she latched onto him in the form of a hug, shaking like a leaf like he was.

She couldn’t speak, her throat shut with fear and fright, but despite this Basil was quick to react and latch onto her in return, grip almost like a vice and tight but also… Gentle.

She tried to catch her breath, tried to force herself to calm down, but it wasn’t working, that THING WAS BEHIND HER-

“Alira…” Basil’s voice, she latched onto that sound, trying so hard to focus on that instead of the thing behind her.  “Everything is okay now, isn’t it?”

She took a few moments to breathe, and nodded once she felt she calmed down a bit. “I… I think….” She certainly calmed down enough to speak at least.

After a few moments, she let go of Basil, stepping back to give him room once he very reluctantly let go of her, still holding onto her hands though. Her hands, delicate like his own, but thinner clearly.

She smiled at him shakily and opened her mouth to say something, but all she let out was a strangled cry as she felt something wrap around her neck and pull tight.

She gasped for air as she ripped her hands away from Basil’s to claw at her neck, Basil backing up in alarm and fright as he saw that thing behind her wrap some part of itself around her neck, jolting her back as she clawed at it and struggled for air. She couldn’t breathe…!

It was trying to.. It was trying to…! No…!

“N-no! You’re not…!” Basil sprung forward, hands over the pitch black thing around her neck, grasping onto it, and while he felt his own Something stirring beneath his feet, he still managed to wrech the thing away from her neck, allowing her to gasp for air as she stumbled back, eyes wide with pure fear and panic as she visibly shook.

Her eyes filled with tears as she began backing up towards the door, crying out pitifully in a tearful tone. “I… I don’t want to…”

“W...Wait… P-please, Alira…” Basil tearfully begged her as she backed up, reaching out for her. “Don’t leave me… Not again…”

“I…. I… I don’t want to go…!” She sobbed out, her Something pricking at her back and making her cry even more. “I-I want… To stay…! Please, please don’t make me… leave him…!”

She didn’t want to leave, she realized. Not just now, not now when Basil clearly needed support, but to leave at all, she wanted to stay in Faraway, she didn’t want to move when had her mother ever talked about moving she couldn’t remember but she DIDN'T WANT TO-

Despite herself, something in her made her turn around, open the door, and leave despite her best friend’s and her own pleading.

- How I feel about this character:

I love her! She is amazing! I love that she is very patient and warm but also won't let anyone hurt the people she loves. She's a badass. She can fight her own battles and has a strong will and resolve despite her kind attitude and her desire to solve things peacefully and I think that is a great combination of characteristics. I love that she's always there for her students and is super understanding. I think she's a great headmistress.

- All the people I ship romantically with this character:

Griffin. They know each other so well and understand and respect each other. Let's be real, that would be the perfect relationship.

Hagen. I have only seen the two minutes of interactions they had in "Secret of the Lost Kingdom" so you can pretty much blame @trashcankitty12 for that since it started from her fanfiction. I just realized a few days ago that they are the sunshine and raincloud trope and I kinda like that, though, it could've been done better.

Griselda. Idk, I've seen this and I think it would work as well. Honestly, I would be more sold if we'd seen more of their relationship but I guess we'll just... have to die. 😑

- My non-romantic OTP for this character:

Griffin. Like I said, I live for this friendship. They have so much history and not all of it is pretty but they are still as close as ever. I love the fact that they've had major crises in their friendship but they still managed to get over them and trust each other. And Faragonda is so supportive of Griffin, I can't. Not to mention that they're both super protective of each other.

- My unpopular opinion about this character:

I think Faragonda is more selfish than expected. What I mean with this is that she would totally sacrifice herself for the people she loves, just as well as she would sacrifice everyone else for the people she loves. This would make sense if you look at her past, too. She most certainly went through big rejection when she discovered she was a fairy. Not only from her family, but also from pretty much everyone else in her life. So the few people that stuck with her mean the world to her and she can't afford to lose them no matter what it means for anyone else. And Marion and Oritel's death only exacerbated that thought process.

- One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:

I wish we'd learned more about her family and the time she thought she was a witch. I think that would've been really interesting and could have brought up some magical lore. Like, more about the fairies and witches and how  light and dark magic came to be (also, am I the only one who thinks we should have gotten more emphasis on Mirta and maybe seen a conversation between her and Faragonda since Mirta is the only one we know of who's been through the same thing Faragonda has?). I reaaaaaaally want to know how she handled that period. (Spoiler: I might have an idea about that and it might be morphing into a fanfic instead of the set of headcanons it was supposed to be.)

Uh... Can I skip this question? 😅 Honestly, I don't really like him. He has some qualities that I like but just... No? I don't feel it.

Honestly, I don't care about his romantic life. I would say Bloom, but they are the only canon ship that I really don't give a damn about.

- My non-romantic OTP for this character:

Brandon. As much as I hated their idea to switch identities in season 1, that's a sign for some strong friendship. You don't just do that with anyone and I like the fact that he's so close with someone who was supposed to be just a servant to him. We haven't seen anything about his life as a prince but I'm willing to bet he didn't have many real friends so it's good to see him have a genuine friendship.

- My unpopular opinion about this character:

I don't like his relationship with Bloom. I feel like they don't fucking communicate, like, at all! At least half, no, wait, at least 70% of their drama would've been avoided if they talked to each other and he trusted her to tell her shit. Imagine how much cooler it would have been if he'd told her that he was actually prince Sky and he was engaged but he likes her and doesn't want to be with Diaspro. And then Bloom could've sneaked on the Day of the Royals for support and because she wanted to see Diaspro and the two of them could've actually talked which would have provided an opportunity for character depth for Diaspro. Maybe she would get to tell Bloom why she loves Sky and Bloom would feel bad bc apparently Diaspro's feelings are genuine but they aren't reciprocated and we could have some quality drama there with Sky and Bloom both trying to let Diaspro down easily and after a period of adaptation they could have all been friends. Now i want to write this. *exasperated sigh*

- One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:

Get some goddamn backstory! I know I say the same about all of the characters, but that's because they have the same flaw in getting no fucking backstory. How are we supposed to get this character when we have no idea why the hell they are like that? I feel like Sky could be a great character if they'd delved more into what makes him like that. Why did he feel the need to swap identities with Brendon? They said that he wanted to see what not being a royalty was like but why? Was he tired of being a prince and just wanted to be normal (in which case some backstory would have fit right in) or did he want to see how ordinary people get treated so that he could get them better for when he became a king? Just give me something about this character's life gdi!

Tecna:

- How I feel about this character:

Pretty meh tbh. She is so underdeveloped, it's painful. We don't know anything about her except that she's good with technology and smart. That doesn't make up an entire personality and it doesn't make her very relatable for me.

- All the people I ship romantically with this character:

Timmy. We get to see some emotional reactions from both of them when they're together and I like that. I just wish they'd done more with them even if in the context of their passion of technology. Just let them go on a super cute nerdy date where they go look for computer parts at a second-hand technology store or something. If they're only gonna have one characteristic, at least expand it to the point where it's believable that it's taken over their lives because they are so interested in it. There were so many possibilities.

- My non-romantic OTP for this character:

... Error 404: File not found. Honestly, her relationships with the others are so non-existent that I don't really... have anything for this category. Like, who is she closest to? I have no idea. I'm gonna say Musa, though, because: a) I think music and technology together can make some pretty cool things and b) Musa seems prone to hiding her emotions and Tecna is a bit detached from her own feelings so I feel like that could be a bonding point while they can also learn something from each other. (Man... I feel like exploring the possibilities now... Gdi! I have no time for that.)

- My unpopular opinion about this character:

I feel like Tecna's powers were very underestimated. And not just on a magical level. She is super smart and inventive and she should've been given a bigger role in a lot of the missions. Also, if any of the magical realms are anything like Earth, then Tecna could be super useful and vital to missions since everything is so technology-based. None of that was well utilized. None of it.

- One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:

I wish she'd gotten her Enchantix differently. Faragonda said that to get Enchantix they had to sacrifice themselves for someone from their planet. Yet, Tecna sacrificed herself for Layla's planet and still got her Enchantix. Now technically, there might have been a Zenithian on Andros at the time, so in saving the planet Tecna saved that Zenithian as well but that is totally not what Faragonda meant there, I'm sorry. Also, if they'd gotten her to save someone from her own planet, we could have learned something more about her and her backstory. I think it would've been better.

Darcy:

-How I feel about this character:

She's my fave Trix! I've loved her since I was little. I love that Darcy is more collected and controlled than Icy and Stormy but she can be just as terrible when she's raging. I like that her composure doesn't make her more stable than they are and she can totally flip from calm to mad in 0.03 seconds. It makes her unpredictable and allows her to fit in with the temper of her besties while she also remains different from them. I love her powers! They're so cool and I wish we'd seen more of them. I'm sure they could've made something amazing if they had messed around with her power of illusions. Come to think of it that fits well with her character, too, since she isn't patient and calm but only gives the illusion of that.

- All the people I ship romantically with this character:

Riven. Look, I know that relationship was as unhealthy as it gets, but they looked cute gdi! In an AU maybe they could've been the perfect couple.

Maybe Flora a little bit. Don't ask me why, I don't know. I just remembered I had some thoughts on this but I can't quite piece it together yet. I think that could have some cool symbolism, though, because in a way Darcy's powers are the opposite of Flora's since plants need light to survive and Darcy's powers are... well, darkness. Also, nature doesn't pretend and Darcy's magic is literally focused on deception so...

- My non-romantic OTP for this character:

Icy and Stormy. They've had less than graceful moments in their friendship but they stuck together through it all and I actually like that. It gives them some depth (which, let's be real, they were very lacking of) and I appreciated it. I feel like I prefer her relationship with Stormy since they are more on equal ground while Icy separates herself as the leader of the trio (and the worst of them tbh).

- My unpopular opinion about this character:

I think Darcy is actually a lot like Musa but their approach to feelings is different. Musa will erupt when she reaches her boiling point while Darcy is more calculating in that regard and is more likely to hide her feelings if she's after something that exploding will get in the way of. So basically, you could say Musa is more genuine while Darcy is more for pretense in the name of her goal. Musa's feelings find outlet in the harmony of her music while Darcy's cause chaos and it's an interesting opposition to work with, especially considering that sometimes their reactions can overlap. I can see how Riven can be confused as to which one of them would be better for him.

- One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:

I wish we'd gotten some backstory. What was her life like that it made her want universl domination? How did she meet Icy and Stormy and how did they become friends, considering that neither of them are exactly open to bonding? How are they connected to the Ancestral Wicthes (I mean, they can't be direct descendants so what is up with that) and how did  they get their hands on the Whisperian Crystals (also, where the hell did the Crystals go after season 1)? So many questions and no answers.

This was so fun! I got so many new thoughts! So... Ask box is still open! 😁

I’m cracking up, this is very On Brand for Glyph. You’re stuck figuring out how to smoke signal ‘nudes’ as a concept back to her. In the end, you just manage to send back “ ( . ) ( . )” and five minutes later you get a “omw” XD

Yep, Addy = AD, aka the Annoying Dog! >:Dc and Hades... well, Hades = HD, aka the Helpful Dog! IE, AD but from a Swapped perspective >:)c  And frankly, the ladies all break into something of a cold sweat if you ask them whether they’re monsters. Theoretically... no......? Right? But uh, no monster’s actually confident in that. They definitely seem a little more than most dogs, ever, but it’s hard to nail down to what degree...

Yeah, best to not think too hard on that one, everyone ends up deciding. They’re part of this messy delight of a found family, either way. X)

Ahaha I think it’s probably one of the first things they figured out once they adjusted/accepted the whole ‘oh I really am in a whole other timeline and also they’re on the Surface’ situation. It’d be pretty damn natural - wondering the how, when monsters had been stuck down there for millenia. Even the girls with less of the militaristic/Guard perspective would want to know.

That said, there’s some [spoiler] factors that have them interested in certain aspects more than others. Also, especially for the fell-type sisters & HT sisters, they’re very, very aware of the fact that there’s so many different variables that it’s not exactly.... 1-to-1 replicable.

Plus, they’ve been here... for a couple years now. They don’t talk much about it these days, but... in the backs of their minds they’re all very aware of the statistical likelihood of ever seeing their home timelines - even if none of them say it aloud.

Honestly, a lot of them could use some good ol’ therapy. They end up debating a lot about this, Blade and Twist included - the conversations are definitely... varied, but a lot of good points are brought up, pros and cons both. In the end though, they had to acknowledge that a therapist from this world just... couldn’t cut it. For pretty obvious reasons, they wouldn’t be able to talk about the whole, well, cannibalism thing, and too much in their life in the underground wouldn’t mesh with this world’s. It’d end up being a moot point, really.

But that’s not to say they don’t do their best! A lot of the girls have tried to work on being better members of their own lil support system, especially since some of the darker stuff they can’t talk about with anyone else. But they’re not perfect; in fact, the one that’s actually best suited to therapist proper is Glyph. Once a month the girls get together expressly for the purpose of some group therapy, though they split into two groups (the sister groups, basically) to both better talk about stuff and allow them to sort through some complicated sibling feelings too.

Essentially it’s just a guided vent & talk fest, but it helps a lot since it’s natural for all of them to shove the darker problems down. Even if they don’t have a proper therapist to turn too, the group sessions help keep them on a healthier track.

Ohhh, well, frankly all kinds, not to mention the potential for a lot more.

Everything from unexpected clashes or, hilariously enough, alliances when some of the guys are swayed by the girls’ opinions... to the absolute nightmare that was the ‘control of the kitchen’ situation, to the way the girls... shall we say reacted to finding out about the HT bros’ situation-

Not to mention, the unexpected complications of having so many skeletons, now including ladies, in one concentrated area. Sure, they were isolated, but everyone still at least sometimes went out into the nearby towns. The more varied skeletons that started appearing, the more people would slowly start to take notice; mild rumors of a skeleton clan nearby or something, any number of things. It could spiral so easily, innocuous talk turning to a rumor or social media post that could catch on too quickly-

No, stars no, it was risky to say the least. And everyone was getting more on edge from the restrictive nature of having to all hide out. Here they were on a surface, but they couldn’t go out and... properly enjoy it that much, could they?

Just one of many reasons (or a group of those reasons, heh) that the ladies collectively said screw this and decided to separate and make their own way far enough away from the guys that there wouldn’t be population overlap.

WIPs and Ideas

This is kind of a collection of things I’ve been working on / ideas that I have. Some have been posted, some haven’t been. This list is *just* going to be projects I have in mind for BNHA and will not include other fandom pieces that are in the wings. This is because BNHA is basically consuming my life and until I return to a modicum of ‘balance’ it’s probably the only thing I’ll be writing consistently for.

Burden to Bear [Here]- Most of you know this one! Bio!dadmight, Izuku has a mutated quirk alongside one for all. Izuku continues on his path to follow in his father’s footsteps, and Inko is... unhappy that both of the people she cares the most about have no sense of self preservation.

Currently we just finished Kamino Ward. Ah, I can say without providing too many spoilers that I have up to the internship arc planned with some stuff that has to happen after that, so there’s a significant amount left in the story.

Wingbeat of a Butterfly - TodoDeku; bio!dadmight time travel AU. Adult pro heroes Duality and Deku are hit by an unknown quirk and they disappear from their world, only to wake up in the bodies of their teenage selves. They begin preparing immediately for the horrors that await them in the future while struggling to prevent anyone from catching on that things are not what they should be. Chaos ensues eventually. This is planned as my primary project after Burden to Bear.

Brittle Glass Beneath my Skin - Kidnapped!Villain Izuku, possible bio!dadmight, possibly not. Izuku was gifted a quirk by AFO, but also is under the influence of a number of quirks and carefully managed handling to ensure his near-complete loyalty. By the time he resurfaces it may be too late to save him, but will that stop All Might from trying? (No it absolutely will not). I’m considering adding a level of pain and memory sharing soulmate to this AU, but I haven’t actually.... decided that.

The Secrets Between Us - This is an extremely dark soulmate AU centering on Todoroki and Midoriya. It's loosely (very loosely) based on the premise of Kimi no Na Wa ("Your Name") in that they swap bodies with each other when they sleep regularly. The similarities basically end there. This story will explore a heightened level of abuse in the Todoroki home and the effects that has on Shouto as well as on Izuku who is forced to keep those secrets too. 

Razor Thin Line - This is a project that is actually the first thing I thought of when I started watching BNHA, somewhere around the Stain arc. I’m biding my time on it because I don’t know if I can do it justice. It’s meant to be a series of short(er) fics that examine the thin line between heroes and villains and between good and evil. The first installment is intended to heavily feature Shouto/Endeavor/Touya(Dabi). I’m open to suggestions of other heroes/villains/ideas to explore!

Rise from the Ashes - Vigilante Todoroki Siblings (all of them!). They are free from Endeavor, but only for as long as they can evade capture. Basically Touya takes his siblings with him when he runs away, and they grow up a little rougher than they may have otherwise, but together.

Sins of the Father [Here] - This was not supposed to be a multi-shot but uh. What can I say except my brain ran with it. Angsty Dad for One. All Might becomes acutely aware of the fact that his nemesis has a family. Enjoy the slight cliffhanger oneshot and be happy in the knowledge it will grow at some point. P:

Untitled Fantasy AU - Inspired by an AU that @thatfunkyopossum talked about with me one day (because I came forward with tododeku fantasy askldjfsdkljf xD) Prince Shouto, Genie Izuku, Rebel Leader Touya. Vague premise is that Shouto receives an ornate box with a puzzle lock as a birthday gift and he eventually opens it to find... a tiny genie Izuku who offers him the standard three wishes. Things get uh, Interesting.

I’ve also got some plans for a TodoDeku Swan Princess Au. But it’s just a vague.... idea right now.

We Are Not Alone [here] - Painsharing Soul Mate AU pieces. Additional one shots will probably be added to it sporadically. They are mostly play pieces tbh and are a little choppier because I tend to write them in one or two writing sessions and release them.

Well, that certainly was ah, uh... one of these things? Right, a finale. Yeah, that was that thing. Wah.

Yes, the finale… And I have so much to say that I think if I put everything I have in my head it will end being a looong post… Eh, I will be doing a long post anyway, just shorter than the original long post I have in mind… You get that, right? ^ ^’

I think it’s been a while for people not being spoiled so, no spoiler tags and here I go.

I didn’t know they will air both episodes Divide and Conquer at the same time. I’m one of those people who prefers to have their weekly things, because I know that if we get all at once, the material will end and I’m almost sure the hiatuses become longer. I dunno why the decision if each episode lasted 22 mins. Well, it wasn’t a bomb so it’s better :3

Now for the first episode, Divide.

We start the episode with a missing Queen Moon and we can see Star should take her obligations right away. I never thought we will see this situation in show. I liked that. We could see how Star takes it and how she experiences by herself the level of her mother’s work.

Marco really takes his *squire job seriously*. I don’t know why but, in this moment, I could feel that reason more like an excuse than ever. Here he felt like he uses that to be with her… more than in other occasions for some reason.

I was wondering where River was. Then he was there. Offering emotional support ^ ^I really wonder why in situations of missing queens the king can’t take some responsibility. Politics sucks sometimes ^ ^’. All the weight goes over an inexperienced teenager… just like when Moon’s mother died.

Yes, the part when Star was overwhelmed with responsibility was something. I specially liked when she went to Glossaryck for counseling like old times but he only gaves her a helpless look. Ouch.

And well, there was a meeting to talk about the situation. They let us know that Mina already fought with Meteora and lost… Why they skip those epic moments…? >.

Also, we can see that Star sure is mad with the council members now. Too bad for Dad Rhombulus…

Then after all this and Star almost making a hasty decision, we have this… Dude!

Marco offered himself to handle the situation. He sure rocked there. Looked so cool. 

Yes, despite me having troubles with all the time skip situation and wondering why he still has a 15 years old mind, it’s really nice that they referenced Marco still has the abilities he learned. It’s WAY better than swapping that under the rug. We never know that before, I suppose he remembered them while traveling with Hekapoo again, closing portals.

But anyway, Marco looks on pair with Star now, he can kick magic and stuff ^ ^

Being honest, I didn’t like at first that he resisted Spider with a top hat but then I saw that those are friggin 16 fighting experience years, 16! And Star is on pair with that :3

I loved the zoom out of the battle. They, face to face panting… taking a breath. Two skilled friends having a wonderful match.

And then Star checking her good friend too… Just checking :3It’s interesting that Marco already knew what she was checking for XD

The episodes had many moments between them both and I specially liked how Star tried to look tough but ended accepting she was scared and wanted some confort. And what’s better than a hug of your best friend whom you have feelings for :). Of course it was easier for Marco to accept he was scared too.

After this we go through spaghetti and they trying to look as two cool best friends in front of other people but failing miserably. Yeah, we love to see those dumb heads in denial. You’re not fooling anyone… stop. Ok don’t stop, it’s funny  ^ ^

The following part of the episode is the division of both of them, hence the name of the episode. Marco will try to delay Meteora and Star will search for her mom.

I need to say that I liked the team. It was a bit strange not seeing Rhombulus there tho.

So Hekapoo has a crush on Raventalon… Neat. Less Marco harem’s vibe is fine by me >:) *cough*

And yeah I noticed Tom has an attire that looks like a fire nation one. Nice cameo :PNot much to say here besides the assembly and the beginning of the fight.

We switch to Star into the magic realm. She finally founds Moon following the traces of dark goo she leaves. At first I didn’t notice but then I saw that she was “Washing off” the dark magic corruption in the magic waters. I have to say that Moon looks cuter without all that pompous make up.

You know what? Whatever the case, I felt good for her. Being queen with so many responsibilities and with the task of taking hard decisions since a young age, I can see why she’s so serious and strict. So, it was nice to see her so relaxed and carefree after all that time. I know she enjoyed that despite not remembering her own family. Well, I mean, she spent time playing with her daughter after all :)

Yeah, Star went in with a contingency plan but making it short, it didn’t work. She ended playing carelessly in the dimension while their friends waited for her. Portal shuts down. That would be a nice cliffhanger for next week but oh well, not complaining ^ ^

We have Conquer right away.

We take where we left and then we know the magic realm has some kind of upside down waterfalls that work like portals to other dimensions. I wonder if that would play some important role in upcoming happenings. I think they will. 

I mean, what is this? Why are they showing it? Is this Hekapoo dimension or something?

They also got into a barrel that is shut and we never know what’s outside… I mean, it should be something more there, right…?

Here’s something a bit weird. After Star failing miserably with all her attempts to remember and go out with her mom, this dude appears…

And just says that they shouldn’t be there and transports them outside. I wonder what was that… but also, I wonder another thing. Star is transported to her room and appears sleeping, so she thinks it was just a dream until she’s fully awake and then concerns. Yeah concerns about her mom because she’s not there! So, Ok, Moon shouldn’t be there, but where she should be then if not her home? Where is she? It doesn’t look like she ended in her castle. Lets’ hope this leads to an interesting story.

Ok, switch to the battle. And yes, I must say that I loved it. Finally a fight! I really missed that in Battle of Mewni. They skipped the fights and that was a really lame decision. I mean, if Star vs Toffee was something near this, I wouldn’t have any complaining!

That teamwork, I love teamwork! ^ ^With the exception of Ponyhead who got defeated quickly because she couldn’t see with the dam helmet on. You can have anything on your head now and that’s all you do?… Ah, Ponyhead, I don’t dislike you but you’re a difficult character.

Also, as I said the team was really good but if I have to choose the best guy there, that’s Tom ^ ^. For sure! He went overboard with everything. He even looked like the most skilled person there.

Dam, he sent Meteora to the underworld! Sure it didn’t last long but not even a council member of I dunno how many years old, made any move in the dire situation.

Of course, that couldn’t be all. If that were the case it would be interesting but sure unfulfilling.After all that, we see how Meteora defeats each one of them and we are left with just, yes, Tom and Marco. Marco with his experience in the other world and Tom being Tom… Yes, for sure he was something.

So, the moment under the rock when they think everything’s lost. Two things I liked from it: First, Tom not looking so stuck anymore, he was such a nice guy even acknowledging Marco’s his best friend now.Second, Marco already confessed Tom about the kiss after feeling guilty cause all the support Tom gave him. Yes! No secrets and hidden things drama! That thing’s over!  Also, maybe that will make people raging about the kiss change their minds a bit. I always say that we should wait for the next episode before going nuts. I want to think this is the case :3

Ok, what was I saying? Oh, yes, did I say Tom was awesome in this episode?

I’ll say that again :)

Dude! Tom was awesome in this episode!

He thought Marco was lying to him to make him leave. Then he discovers he wasn’t lying and he doesn’t lose it, just stays there protecting his best friend. Also that trait of having hundreds of demons inside makes him practically immune to Meteora’s soul sucking. Someone please tell me Tom sucks, I want to laugh XD

Of course, Marco will not stay there waiting for his friend to get soul depleted, so he acts anyway and we end with a soul less Marco.

Tom carries Marco and only Marco to Star. The moments when Star realizes Marco is gone aren’t particularly detailed as shocking but we can see how Star reacts and feels, even more when she decides to go to heal him to the sanctuary. It doesn’t work and yeah, this episode has many endearing moments, so hug for Tom too and we can see how is he trying to fulfill the promise to Marco to keep Star safe. But yeah, Star has gone for a big character growth so she will not run from his problems anymore.

Interesting thing there, is that just as Star didn’t know about Tom’s tail, Tom didn’t know about Star’s butterfly form. Every time we’re shown how not that close they are :/ Tom’s a nice guy, I knew he will going to be the Jackie 2.0 of the relationship. Oh well.

Final scene and we got our DARN FINAL BATTLE. Finally! I’ve always said that the writers learn from mistakes of previous seasons and this is not changing my mind. Tom as the other love interest got plenty screen time and development and the villains weren’t dispatched with an unfulfilling and fast deux ex. I wish they could’ve done this earlier. Look at that scenario and action scenes! X)

Then the moment many of us liked. Before a defeated Star we see how Eclipsa comes in (She was missing before, I must clarify) takes the wand and it goes to its Eclipsa form! That shows that the wand can go to his other forms if the bearer wants. Moon grabbed the wand several times but it stayed in Star’s form, so it was a bit confusing.

Ok, I was saying… That woman is too OP… plz nerf! Maybe it’s because her daughter didn’t counter attack but besides that, Meteora always looked so resistant but she comes in, blasts her a couple of times and then encloses her easily in some sort of bubble. Done.

For sure, this moment was heavy…

It’s not like I cried a bit or anything… *cough*

And yeah, defeating her restored everyone to their true self.

Again, lovely Starco moment when she jumps to catch Marco and only Marco. Then this.This episode is full of them ^ ^

Yeah, it was interrupted by Tom but I didn’t mind at all! It was a cute moment between those three. I wonder what does Tom thinks after all this… He knows about the kiss, he of course knows about the Blood Moon, he witness those moments. I hope they don’t take long for him to say something about that. I mean, how can the writers stretch that in a not annoying way? Can they…?

Well, after looking at a sad Elcipsa that seems to have lost everything, Star gives the wand to her… Some people were shocked by it but I thought she will do that since the trial when she knew she’s not form the royal bloodline.It was whoa. Eclipsa even accepts the wand after discovering that his daughter is alive, just deaged to a baby. Then they left, leaving a confused Star and Marco there. I know I’m not the only one puzzled by the happenings. 

Oh, and yes, Glossaryck is fine and was pretending all this time or something. Was he? If so why? What’s with this dude? “I’ve been trying to tell you about Globgor” Yeah but why couldn’t you talk like a normal person before?? -__-

I have to mention the voice actor change here. They even made a pun in show. Well, it doesn’t sound as good to me. What a shame… I hope it grows on me tho. But Adam said that the new opening will grow on me because it was just that we got used to the previous one… and it didn’t. The current one just doesn’t go as well with the music and is not that lively as the previous one. It’s good… but not better. Let’s see if it’s different with Glossy.

Ok, ok, I think this really has been a long post so, I’ll try to not extend myself so much more.

That final scene was something. Eclipsa entering to the place where her husband is and saying “Hello, my love, we’re home…”

What will happen after this? What are they hinting? Eclipsa doesn’t look like a schemer but this gave a vibe of her planning something against all odds.

She doesn’t look like the evil queen people talked about… at all but we ended with her in front of a BIG crystallized monster. Does that mean something? Is he evil? If so, will Eclipsa join him or maybe will she be controlled by his beloved hubby?

I just know a thing: This cliffhanger is like 10 times better than the one in season 2. Well done SVTFOE crew! I will be expecting nice things for the last season (Ah, that sounds a bit sad ^ ^)Now, hiatus, come to me! I don’t fear you!

( Well then. Uh...It looks like people are actually interested. Now I have to think of something to say without spoiling it too much! xD )

( I guess I can show this. This is the design for OC Swap. It will probably be changed in the future and the colors aren’t final but here we go. )

( He’s a modern wizard and as you might have noticed he looks to have skeletal features. Normally those are hidden using glamours. A short explanation is that, he’s literally a walking talking skeleton and he uses his magic to hide that. He’s a salty lil funker on a quest to find his mother and keep his life together without people finding out he’s been turned into a skeleton. How and why this happened? That’s a spoiler! Also as you can see his fashion sense is....interesting. It’s so hard trying to design a character that’s suppose to have a shitty fashion sense when you want it to be perfect, let me tell ya. and the colors! thg4ugwtg I really need to fix the colors, also he’s gonna have several outfits. Like a hoodie and jeans. He lazy sometimes )

( His story is still in the very basics of being made. I have no idea what it will be about in the end and everything is subject to change at this point. But at the moment I do have characters. Saul has a mother and father based off of Swap’s parents, as well as a sister based off of Serif.  )

( Fun facts! Saul and his family have Hawaiian genetics! Saul is a dork that loves edgy things like MCR. He’s always trying too hard to be “cool.” He has a girlfriend but no one believes him when he tells them that because they think he’s too much of a dick to ever get one. )

( So yeah. This is a bit of what I have. I’m still developing things but I have enough to write the set up of the story or the start of a webcomic, which I’d love to do. Too bad I can’t draw. But maybe I can find someone to help me bring Saul’s story to full glory. I have so many ideas for this and I’m really excited about it. There are a lot more characters that are still being developed as well.  )

Yeah well I wouldn't just call it “in the second series there is a lesbian couple“ because like... (spoiler alert?) in that one place they swapped the whole society and the whole power structure around? The woman do all the work (well they have always been doing that irl, too, but you know it's still pretty cool with the historic background of the books), they're the leaders, they take care of everything and... uhh... only let a few males into their society and only because they need them to reproduce? So I think it's a bit more than just one lesbian couple! :'D

But you know just the few rebloggs and stuff you've been posting about the books recently made me realize how much cool stuff I missed while reading it the first time! Yeah well the last time I reread them was uh... 5 years ago? And I think I hadn't even fully grasped the concept of being gay or bi back then soo this is had been like... really “eye opening“ for me! XD

Really makes me wanna reread them again, tho, so I can finally understand them even better now! x3

The Black Magician Trilogy

ok so these books are good. An easy summary for somebody who hasn’t read them:

Similar to harry potter (in general plot but that’s it) except:

main character is an androgynous poor girl

doesn’t beat around the bush (instead of there being snobby magicians who don’t like “mudbloods”, there are magicians who just straight up hate poor and queer people, for example.)

so far no forced romance (i’m on the second book)

ONE OF THE MAIN CHARACTERS (sort of analogous to remus lupin in that he was bullied and ostracized for a thing) IS ACTUALLY QUEER. THEY’VE BEEN HINTING AT IT (gee other magicians have something against him, antagonists will occasionally imply it in insults. Unsure whether that’s just a general “people use queer to insult” deal or if actually directed at the character’s sexual orientation… but then yes. actually yes. they are queer. and so far it looks like the series is doing a good job of depicting homophobes as notgood while maintaining a realistically shitty heteronormative society) AND I READ THE WIKI BECAUSE I DIDN’T WANT TO BE LET DOWN AND IT LOOKS LIKE HE ACTUALLY COMES OUT IN THE THIRD BOOK.

idk and the writing is so good. 

IDK it’s like everything harry potter COULD have been but wasn’t. I feel bad even comparing the two but i realized the comparison last night and can’t stop. In a gleeful way.
