Criminal Minds Masterlist
When Hotch had notified the team to haul their asses up and drove all the way to D.C., Spencer never expected that it would also entail him having to suffer through a mini heart attack.
The series of attacks around D.C. had been dominating the 6 PM news segments in the entire country. What was initially perceived as a suspected sequence of robberies gone wrong--since the first two targets to have been hit were a bank and a prestigious auction house--soon turned into a nationwide panic as people realized that there was a bigger game at play.
After the third attack was found to have occurred in the headquarters of one of the top, up-and-coming renewable energy startups in the states, the D.C. police finally started to entertain the idea that perhaps they hadn't been dealing with their usual petty robbers at all.
And naturally, that was when the BAU had been called in.
As soon as the team entered the Metropolitan PD bullpen, they were struck with the smell of panic and the sight of chaos.
"Agent Hotchner?" A middle-aged man in a gray shirt and blue tie appeared in front of them. "My name is Detective Mills, we spoke on the phone."
"Of course, Detective." Hotch shook the other man's hand. "This is my team. Agent Prentiss, Jareau, and Dr. Reid. I have two others already at the latest crime scene. What can you tell us so far?"
"As you can see--" Detective Mills gestured towards the frenzied scene behind him, "--the entire D.C. area is going haywire after news broke out about yesterday's attack. The public is demanding the city to be put on lockdown, and I'm getting pressure from above as well. We received information that nearly half the city has called in sick today."
"A classic response to mass paranoia," Spencer noted.
"Well, paranoia or not, I just want to start getting some answers." Detective Mills began to lead the team further into the bullpen. "I have every pair of hands I could spare in this. If they aren't out there chasing leads, they're here interviewing the victims, friends, and families."
"Any luck so far?" Emily asked.
"Nothing more than what you've probably seen in the files."
Detective Mills pushed open the door to an office in the corner, away from the havoc in the center of the station.
"Lieutenant Jeffreys retired a couple of weeks ago. The lucky bastard." Detective Mills scoffed jokingly. "It's the most decent space I can spare at the moment. Think you'll be fine in here?"
"It's more than enough, Detective. Thank you," Hotch replied.
"What about the witnesses from yesterday's attack? Have you had the chance to interview them?" JJ asked as the rest of the team started setting up.
"Some of my men are with them right now. But I doubt they'll have anything useful. Just like the other two cases, the attack happened while most of the office was out. The rest left behind were DOA at the latest scene."
"They're rapidly devolving," Spencer pondered out loud as he skimmed over the case files. "They went from killing a non-compliant security guard during the first attack to executing almost every witness in the last one."
JJ raised an eyebrow. "Almost?"
"It says here there is one survivor." Spencer showed the word he had underlined in the case overview to JJ.
"Yes, there is," Detective Mills confirmed. "I had one of my men talk to her. There's not much she could give us. Thing is, she wasn't even supposed to be there."
"What do you mean?" Emily asked.
"She didn't work in that office. She was a consultant who just happened to be visiting. Poor girl's pretty shaken up. She hid in a supply closet the entire time. She was the one who found the bodies and called 911."
"So, the perpetrators never checked the rooms while they were holding the victims hostage?" Hotch questioned.
"Not according to her statement, no. See, I thought it weird myself. Do you have any idea why?"
"Not sure." Hotch hummed, deep in thought. "Perhaps our UnSubs didn't think to check because they didn't know someone was in there. Detective, you said all of the victims were the only employees of the company who didn't attend the event downtown, correct?"
"Yeah, they were the only ones who weren't listed as attendees. Why? Do you think those people were specifically targeted?"
"Unfortunately, we can't rule out anything yet this early in the investigation," Hotch said. "We need to talk to the witnesses to know more. JJ?"
"On it." JJ nodded. "What can you tell us about yesterday's sole survivor, Detective?"
"Not much. I didn't interview her personally, one of my men did. She works at a consulting engineering firm in town," Detective Mills replied. "I believe her name is... what is it called?"
When Detective Mills mentioned the name, Spencer's heart instantly crashed inside of its cage.
"What?" His hand had stopped scribbling on the board. In a matter of miliseconds, Spencer had crossed the room towards the doorway where Detective Mills was standing. "What did you say her name was?"
Dumbfounded, the detective stared at a dread-stricken Spencer before spelling out the name once more.
"Why? What's wrong?" Detective Mills asked in confusion.
JJ touched Spencer's shoulder. "Hey, you okay?"
But Spencer, either too alarmed or merely choosing not to acknowledge both questions, asked instead, "Where is she? I need to see her."
"In the waiting room by the pantry--"
Spencer didn't even wait for Detective Mills to form his complete thought before dashing out. JJ exchanged a glance with Emily following Spencer's sudden exit, perplexed by his odd turn of behavior.
"I'll go get him," JJ announced before leaving the room, chasing after a flurry of wavy hair and a wool-knitted purple vest sprinting across the bullpen.
The roaring commotion inside the station was almost loud enough to rival the intensity of your racing thoughts.
Almost.
At this point, you didn't think there was anything you could do anymore. The vivid images from yesterday's attack were playing continuously in your head. There was nothing you could do to stop them.
Rubbing your eyes from exhaustion, you mourned the loss of sleep that you failed to get the previous night. As if the waking nightmares weren't torment enough, the images had somehow translated even more cruelly into your subconscious. You could barely close your eyes for three seconds without feeling like you had been brought back to that place.
Cold, cramped, and alone. Fearing for your life in the tiny supply closet that smelled more like death than bleach.
At the sound of the door opening, you quickly turned around in your seat to hide your face away from prying eyes. The last thing you needed at that moment was having a complete stranger seeing you fall apart in the middle of a police station.
But when the voice came carrying the sound of your name, it wasn't the voice of a complete stranger you had heard. It was a voice you knew more than you probably knew your own. A voice you loved and a voice you had longed to hear for the past gruesome twenty-four hours.
"Spencer?" You turned back towards the door, seeing the face you adored most in the whole world staring back at you.
"Sweetheart."
At the speed of a lightning, Spencer dropped to his knees in front of you and gathered your broken little pieces into his arms.
Spencer's touch was everywhere. Your hair, your neck, your shoulders. As if he was checking whether you were real. That you were actually there inside his arms, and you were not a simple imagination that his mind had conjured up.
Surrounded by the safety of his embrace, you could feel the shattered pieces of yourself beginning to mend once more.
"Spencer," you uttered his name again as you pulled away, still in disbelief that he was physically there with you.
"I'm here," he promised you as he cupped your face gently.
"Spencer, what are you... How..."
"My team is working your case. We arrived half an hour ago," he explained simply. "Sunshine, why didn't you tell me? I thought you were still in Alaska?"
You had previously apprised Spencer that you would be hard to reach during your trip since you would be spending most of your time at the power plant site where cellphone receptions were scarce. So when an entire day went by without him ever hearing from you, Spencer didn't have any reason to be worried.
Never in a million years would he have ever predicted that you'd be caught in the middle of a hostage situation.
That thought alone caused Spencer to squeeze your hand a little tighter than usual.
"I'm sorry, Spence," you said sincerely. "My trip ended earlier than planned. I arrived back yesterday morning. I actually wanted to surprise you last night. After yesterday's... incident, I wanted to call you, but my phone was shot--"
"Wait, what? You were shot?"
"No! No, baby. Not me. Just my phone," you assured him. "But that's why I couldn't call. I did attempt you once using this station's phone, but it went straight to voicemail."
At the new piece of information, the colors immediately drained from Spencer's face.
"That was you? Fuck. I didn't--I didn't know. I rejected the call because I didn't know it was you."
"Hey." You stopped his guilty rambling with a hand to his cheek. "It's okay. I'm okay. I'm just glad you're here."
And then, because Spencer needed to make sure that you really were okay, he pulled you back into his arms and held you even tighter this time.
"Uh, Spence?"
The sound in the doorway snapped you both out of your mutual reverie. You looked up to see a blonde woman there, staring in an equal mixture of shock and confusion at the sight in front of her.
Spencer begrudgingly untangled himself from your arms before getting up to approach her.
"JJ, do you mind if I do the cognitive for this one?" Spencer asked.
The woman--JJ-- shifted her eyes a few times between you and Spencer. "Um, of course. I'll just go and inform Hotch. Tell us if you need anything."
After JJ's departure, Spencer closed the door again to award you both a much needed privacy.
He grabbed a wooden chair from the corner and dragged it before sitting down right in front of you.
"I need to start the interview now, sweetheart. Think you're up for it?"
Your whole body went rigid for a matter of seconds before you forced it to restart again. It was gone as soon as it came, but Spencer noticed it just the same.
"Look at me," Spencer ordered softly, using his delicate finger to nudge your face up until he was looking straight into your eyes. "I know it's scary. I don't want you to have to relive yesterday either, but it will help us catch whoever did this."
"I've told the police everything I knew yesterday. I was hiding the entire time." Like a coward. "I didn't see anything. I don't have anything else that could help you."
"I know that, sunshine. But as I've told you before, our method is slightly different. We won't be just focusing on what you saw, but also what you smelled, or maybe even heard." Spencer took your hands then, squeezing affectionately. "I'll be here with you the entire time."
The nod you gave him was hesitant, but it was a start nonetheless. You listened intently to Spencer's words and closed your eyes just as he had instructed.
"We'll start at the beginning," you heard him say. "Why don't you tell me why you went there yesterday?"
"I, uh, received a call from my friend, Nick, after my plane landed. We had been communicating back and forth since his company seeked my consultation for one of their upcoming projects," you began. "I wasn't even supposed to work because I had requested the day off. But Nick said it didn't have to be a formal meeting, so I agreed to meet him."
"Tell me what you remember after arriving at the office."
Your mind traveled back to that specific time one day prior. You remembered walking into the place and seeing its unusual state of vacancy even though there was still a good half an hour left before lunchtime.
"I just assumed everyone had gone to lunch earlier and shrugged it off," you recalled.
Spencer nodded his head. "Did anything else strike you as out of the ordinary?"
"No? I don't... I don't know. It was only my second time being there, I'm not sure what was normal and what wasn't."
"Okay. That's okay. You're doing good so far, sweetheart," Spencer quickly interjected, trying to get you to calm down before your distress could turn into a full-blown panic. "Now, what did you do next?"
"I followed Nick into his office."
Nick was keeping his promise true. It hadn't felt like a formal meeting, just two old college buddies reminiscing about the past and discussing possibilities of the future that, of course, included the company's upcoming project which you would be working on with him.
"I excused myself to the bathroom at some point," you added. "When I first heard the commotion, I thought nothing of it. It's like the idea that a group full of armed men had taken over the building didn't even cross my mind. I mean, why would it? I was on my way back to Nick's office when I saw them."
You recalled turning a corner after exiting the bathroom only to see those figures carrying machine guns and shouting at everyone to get on their knees or put their hands above their heads. You remembered sprinting the way you had come from and opening the first door you could reach that just happened to be the supply closet.
"Let's go back to the moment you saw them," Spencer urged gently. "How many people were there? Do you remember any conspicuous detail? Maybe one of them had tattoos or spoke with an accent. Anything that distinguished them."
Taking a deep breath, you tried replaying those crucial seconds slowly in your head.
"There were four of them. I couldn't see much. They were all wearing identical black clothes."
Suddenly, an unexpected piece of memory rushed to the front of your mind. You opened your eyes in shock, meeting Spencer's curious gaze that had been kept intently on you the entire time.
"I think at least one of them is a woman," you told him.
Spencer's eyebrows rose in surprise. "Are you sure?"
"One of the guys said something about... fucking this place up. And then she laughed. I heard her. It was definitely a female laugh."
"Good. That's good."
"Yeah? Do you think it'll help?"
Spencer nodded assuredly, bringing his hand to leave calming strokes on your head. "I know it will. You've done a great job, sweetheart. I'm proud of you."
The praise Spencer gave eased the tension in your shoulders. As if having been granted fresh air after decades of confinement, you were finally able to let yourself breathe again.
Spencer continued his loving strokes on your head. Little by little, the weight of his touch melted the resolve you had built into a pathetic puddle on the floor. Without its mental shield protecting you, your tears sped forward, gathering in your eyes until they spilled on the vast path down your cheeks.
"Hey, hey." Spencer's voice was laden with panic after seeing you start to cry. "Sunshine, what is it? What's wrong? Talk to me."
"I-I just... God." You struggled to get the words out in between sobs. "I'm a coward, Spencer."
"What?"
"All of those people... They died because I was a fucking coward."
Your admission tore into the air before stabbing Spencer right through his chest.
"Sweetheart, you know that's not true."
"But it is!" you cried out, pulling away from Spencer's grounding hold around your shaking body in favor of your own arms. "I was a coward. I ran and hid because I was too scared to die. Too scared to fight. If I had just tried a little harder, I could've called for help. That way, maybe all of those people wouldn't... And Nick wouldn't..."
A haunting image flashed behind your eyes. The image of Nick's limp and lifeless body on the floor, among those of the others. You remembered crying next to him, punching his chest, body, and arm despite having seen the gunshot wound on his forehead. It took you another five minutes before you eventually managed to gather yourself together, found a phone, and dialed 911.
Not that it made any difference. They were all already dead.
Spencer could hear his heart breaking at the sight of you curling into yourself, recoiling from his touch because you somehow believed you didn't deserve his affection at that moment. If Spencer could just transfer all of your pain towards him, he would. Seeing you beat yourself up that way over something that happened and was done to you was the worst kind of torture he ever had to endure in life.
And Spencer had been through more kinds of torture than the general population in the world.
Deciding that he had seen enough of your self-deprecating torment, he reclaimed your hands inside of his palms and urged you to look at him.
"Are you hearing yourself right now?" Spencer asked incredulously. "How can you even think that way? Sweetheart, what happened to those people, to Nick, it is not your fault."
"B-but, if I hadn't run away--"
"Then you would've died, too," he cut you off. "Sunshine, there were four of them with machine guns. No one stood a single chance against them. Those people were there to kill. There was nothing you could've done."
It was a hard pill to swallow, but Spencer needed you to hear it.
He needed you to know the truth no matter how unacceptable it was.
"If you hadn't hid from them, we would've found seven bodies there instead of six. And I--" Spencer took a shuddering breath, "--I would've lost you."
Your shoulders deflated at his revelation. "Spence--"
"So please--" he searched your eyes then, using his thumb to sweep away the remaining tears under your eyes, "--stop holding yourself accountable. I promise I will do everything I can to find those people and make them pay for what they did."
Spencer's vow triggered a new wave of tears that compelled you to sink into his awaiting arms. He let you stay there until you had cried your tears dry. It was something he also secretly needed for himself after suffering through the short-lived horror over the mention of your name in relation to the heinous case. He just needed to make sure that you were okay.
A few minutes passed by with you in his arms. Eventually, Spencer had to tear himself away to finish his job. He asked you to wait as he wrapped up the transcript of your cognitive interview, along with his professional report over it.
"I need to run somewhere real quick. I promise to be back in a couple of hours," he notified JJ as he handed her the interview report. "Tell Hotch for me? Thanks."
Without waiting for his friend's reply, Spencer rushed back to the waiting room before leading you out to take you home.
Back at your apartment, Spencer guided you towards the direction of your bathroom as soon as you had stepped into the threshold.
"Are you trying to get me naked, Spencer?" you remarked playfully after he refused to let you take your clothes off yourself.
"Yes." The gleaming mischief in your eyes caused him to flick your nose lightly. "Just to get you ready for your bath. Get your head straight, will you?"
You scoffed at his back as he turned around to check the water temperature in the tub.
Once you were submerged safely inside, Spencer left the bathroom to give you some privacy. Meanwhile, he began rummaging through your drawers to pull out a change of clothes, a towel, and a clean sheet for your bed.
By the time you exited, Spencer had changed your bedsheets and lit one of your favorite candles on the bedside table. He asked you to sit down on the bed as he kneeled before you, helping you put on the pajamas he had picked out with little prints of sunflowers on them.
None of Spencer's touches were sexual. They swept over your skin with the care of an artist handling their most precious work. When his eyes found yours, you swore you could almost cry from the intense adoration that seemed to shine so brightly out of them.
As he guided you to lie on the bed, you were surprised to see him following suit. He got under the covers with you, pulling you close to tangle every inch of your limbs with his.
"I love you, Spencer," you admitted to his chest, heart heavy with the deep appreciation and overwhelming affection for the man beside you.
Spencer looked down at your confession, finding his favorite pair of eyes already looking earnestly at him. Instinctively, he reached for your chin with his fingers, tugging your face upward until he could capture your lips with his.
The kiss was slow. Careful. Filled with silent promises and discreet reassurances. When you both parted, Spencer didn't pull himself away. Instead, he let his forehead touch yours while his eyes stayed closed.
"Will you be here when I wake up?" you asked quietly.
"Yes, sweetheart. Now go to sleep."
Although the two of you knew his answer was a lie, you both chose to pretend otherwise. You knew Spencer still had responsibilities to fulfill, along with a promise to you that he intended to keep. You knew that when you woke up later that evening, Spencer would already be long gone, and you would be forced to bask in the traces of himself that he had left behind.
But for now, Spencer was still there, in the comfort of your bedroom, lying on the bed next to you. And that knowledge alone was good enough for you to finally drift further into the land of sleep, surrounded by the warmth of Spencer's loving embrace.
"I'm telling you," JJ insisted, looking at her entire team minus Spencer and Hotch. "There was definitely something going on between them. Why else would he request to take over the cognitive for me?"
"Maybe he was feeling generous," Rossi deadpanned, earning an unimpressed glare from JJ.
It had been a full week since the BAU team had arrived in D.C. to investigate the series of gun attacks in the city. Just the day prior, they had successfully made their fourth arrest, bringing this case to yet another satisfying conclusion in the eye of justice.
If nothing else was amiss, they should have been on their way back to Quantico in less than an hour. In the meantime, though, JJ felt obliged to gather her team members in the middle of the bullpen to share her suspicion about a certain scene she had accidentally caught on their first day working the case.
"Pretty boy did seem more emotionally involved in this case than he usually does, though," Derek pointed out.
"Right? Right?" JJ replied almost too enthusiastically. "Come on, aren't you guys at least half as curious as I am about who this mystery girl might be? Don't you wanna try finding out who she is while we're still here?"
They all stared at each other in hesitation.
"Or, we could just ask Spencer directly and let him explain?" Emily suggested, receiving incredulous looks from the other three in response. "Yeah, you're right. What did you say her name was again?"
"I don't remember," JJ answered.
"It must be listed in the files somewhere, right?" Derek immediately sprung into action, reaching towards the scattered case files that might contain the name they were looking for.
"Just to be clear, I am not taking any part in this." Rossi sighed.
"Got it!" Derek waved the offending file in hand, giving it to JJ, who instantly began skimming over it.
"Alright. Says here that her name is..."
JJ read the name aloud when unexpectedly, an answering sound sprouted from behind them.
"Yes?"
Every single one of them turned in shock at your voice. You smiled at their wide-eyed expressions, waving your hand a little awkwardly in the air.
"You!" JJ exclaimed.
"Me?"
Emily nudged JJ in the ribs, making the blonde woman wince.
"Y-you're the witness from the startup case, right?" JJ said, trying to rectify the situation.
"That's me."
"What can we do for you, Miss?" Rossi asked, stepping forward and away from the rest of the group.
"I'm actually looking for Spencer. Do you know where he might be?"
"Spencer Reid? You know Reid?" Emily asked.
Before you had the chance to reply, the man in question came strolling into the bullpen, rambling animatedly to Hotch who was walking beside him. The moment Spencer caught sight of you, though, he immediately abandoned Hotch's side and rushed towards where you were standing.
"Hey, what are you doing here?"
"Looking for you, of course," you told him, fitting yourself easily into Spencer's side as his arm went around your waist. "Hi, Hotch."
The older man called your name in greeting. "I got your message. You wanted to talk to me?"
"I wanted to ask you--well, all of you, actually--" you glanced around at the other team members, "--if maybe you all would let me treat you to lunch? As a thank you for your hard work on the case."
Hotch nodded in response. "It's fine with me. We don't have to be back until tonight, anyway. Everyone?"
Instead of replying to your offer, Emily voiced aloud the question that was circling everyone's mind.
"You know her?" Emily looked at Hotch before dragging her eyes away towards you. "And you know him? You know each other? How?"
You gazed up at Spencer's eyes, seeing them shining with the same mirth as the one you felt dancing in your stomach.
"I guess this is supposed to be the part where I introduce myself, isn't it?" You chuckled.
Extending your palm, you shook each of their hands while telling them your name, them responding back with theirs even though you already knew who was who long before you had even met them.
"I still don't understand," JJ admitted after you finished shaking her hand. "How did you know Spencer and Hotch?"
Once again, you looked into Spencer's eyes, a question bouncing around in yours. Spencer's nod of affirmation was the only go-ahead you needed.
It's time.
"I'm Spencer's girlfriend."
"She's my wife."
You turned your head towards Spencer in shock.
In front of you, Spencer's teammates were causing an uproar.
"Wait, what?" Emily stared dumbfoundedly.
"You have a girlfriend?" Derek asked in disbelief.
"You're married?!" JJ shrieked.
"Hold on a second," Rossi interjected, holding his palms out as if to tell everyone to stand down and calm themselves. "So which one is it? Girlfriend or wife?"
And that was how you found yourself sitting in the private VIP room of your favorite restaurant in the city with some of Spencer's closest people on earth.
"That's the craziest story I've ever heard," Emily pondered in astonishment.
Rossi, Derek, and JJ were all wearing an identical look on each of their faces after hearing the story of how you and Spencer met: by drunkenly getting married in Vegas after only knowing each other for barely one night when you both weren't even twenty-two yet.
"If someone were to tell me yesterday that there's another member of this team who also went to get married while drunk in Vegas, I would have never even thought of mentioning Spencer's name," JJ mused.
At your curious expression, Spencer explained, "Rossi also got drunkenly married in Vegas to his third ex-wife,"
"Why didn't you two get a divorce?" Emily suddenly asked.
It was something that everyone who knew about your situation with Spencer had questioned at one point or another. The real answer was because you and Spencer had both been reluctant to go through the nasty and lengthy legal process of getting a divorce. Therefore, you decided to part ways without doing anything about it, vowing to only track each other down if one of you ever needed to end the bond because of another impending marriage or any other urgent matter.
But that reason alone was usually not enough to appease people's curiosity. And over the years, you and Spencer had poked fun over that particular fact by coming up with the most outrageous lie you could muster up.
"She wanted to get a divorce," Spencer fabricated smoothly. "I persuaded her otherwise because I had this inkling that someday we were gonna fall in love."
Usually, any other people would coo sweetly at Spencer's statememt.
But these weren't any other people. These people were Spencer's family in more ways except flesh and blood, and even without their profiling skills, you knew they could see right through Spencer's little deception.
"That sounds like bullshit to me. Doesn't that sound like bullshit to you?" Emily asked, turning to JJ for support.
"Yeah, that was bullshit, alright," JJ claimed vehemently, prompting an innocent-looking grin from Spencer and a series of chuckles from everyone else.
"When did you two start dating, then?" Rossi spoke up from one end of the table.
"About two years after Vegas, right?" you estimated, to which Spencer nodded in confirmation. "He strolled into my place of work while he was on a case, and then he asked me out."
Derek sat up on his seat after hearing the new information. "Wait, when was this? Why didn't I know about this?"
"The beginning of my second year in the BAU," Spencer offered. "Elle knew."
"Elle? Elle Greenway? You told Elle but not me?" Derek looked offended.
Spender shrugged nonchalantly. "Elle was assigned with me that day."
"Unbelievable." Derek slumped back down in his chair. "Penelope is gonna freak when she finds out what she missed today."
"Penelope? Oh, she already knows," you told him.
That revelation earned a collective disbelief look across the entire table.
"Yeah... I, uh," you cleared your throat, "I actually just went shopping with her two weeks ago."
"You've got to be kidding me," Emily muttered.
"You told Penelope but not me?" Derek sounded hurt as he pointed his accusatory stare at Spencer. "You even told Hotch!"
"I didn't tell Garcia. She dug through my history and found it out herself. Had to bribe her with candies and chocolates for a whole month to keep her quiet," Spencer grumbled. "And I had to tell Hotch. We needed to add her number to my emergency contact list."
Despite Spencer's concise explanation, Derek still seemed unsatisfied by the whole ordeal.
"How long have you known?" he finally decided to ask Hotch.
"A while," the man answered from his seat at the opposite end of the table from Rossi. "They even babysat Jack a few times for me."
"I don't believe this," Derek scowled. "Pretty boy's got himself a girl for the last six years, and I never knew? Outrageous."
"Technically, we've been married even longer than that," Spencer responded, as if he was unaware of the imminent glower that Derek was sending his way. "Eight years since Vegas."
"That's longer than any of my marriage," Rossi remarked before sipping his drink.
The laugh that resonated upon Rossi's little comment elicited an affectionate smile on your lips.
"So, you live in D.C., then?" JJ asked, at last stirring the conversation away from the topic of your and Spencer's secret marriage-slash-relationship.
"I do, yeah. But most of the time, I live out of my suitcase," you answered. "My firm has clients all over the country. A few overseas, as well. I'm lucky if I even get to have an entire week to sleep uninterrupted in my own bed."
Even then, you truthfully quite enjoyed the work you had to do. You didn't mind having to travel some place new every other week. In fact, you somehow believed that your constant need to travel for your job, and Spencer for his, was one of the reasons why the two of you worked so well together.
Although people might think that two adults who had to travel for a living were a recipe for a disastrous relationship, you and Spencer had so far proven otherwise. Because of your respective schedules, you could sympathize more with the other anytime they had to go somewhere urgent for work. It only made you savor every single second you spent together because of how much precious each one of them became.
The rest of lunch unraveled with the same bucket of smiles, jokes, and laughter. It felt good to finally tell the few people who meant the world in Spencer's life the truth about your relationship. It was also a huge relief to see them opening their arms and welcoming you into the family without an ounce of hesitation.
"Hotch?" Spencer called out after everyone exited the restaurant. "Will it be okay if I stay in the city for one more night?"
"As long as you promise to be back for tomorrow's briefing," Hotch reminded sternly, but the meaningful look he passed over you before he entered his vehicle spoke of a thousand things left unsaid.
"It was so nice meeting you," JJ said as she took you in her arms. "And I'm sorry again about your friend."
"Thank you. And thanks for all of your hard work in catching those guys."
"Of course, it's what we do." JJ smiled as she pulled away. "Invite me and Emily the next time you and Penelope hang out, okay?"
"Will do," you promised.
You watched as every single one of them scrambled into the two black SUVs, waving your goodbye until the cars drove out of your sight.
"I think that went well," you commented before looking up at Spencer. "Do you?"
"I think it went as well as it could."
"So--" you began, circling your arms around Spencer's neck, "--we have more than twelve hours until you're expected back at Quantico. What do you wanna do?"
Spencer nudged your nose with his. "I can think of a few activities we can partake in."
"Really?"
"Really."
Just as he was a hairbreadth away from pressing his lips to yours, you suddenly tore yourself out of Spencer's arms.
"Like getting some frozen yogurts?" you asked giddily, smirking at the dumbfounded look that you managed to put on Spencer's face.
"Fine. Let's go get some frozen yogurts."
Spencer had to hide his amused grin at your elated squeals. He was more than content at that moment to let you produce those addictive sounds at the mere prospect of frozen yogurts.
But later that night, he had a whole different set of activities lined up to pull those same sounds out of you once more.
And it might or might not potentially involve an entirely different yet creative use of frozen yogurts as well.
Spencer simply just hadn't decided yet.

note: hi! this is my first fic on here :) there's def potential for a part two if y'all want it. enjoy!
You regretted not bringing a sweater to sleep in.
While it made complete sense that the weather cooled as the sun went down, you couldn’t help but complain as the cheap motel informed you all that the heating was unfortunately down in some of the rooms. Ever the lucky ones, you and Spencer stepped foot into your shared room and are welcomed with a deceptively kind wall of chilly air.
“You’d think that with all the BAU does on a daily basis, we’d get a decent room to hunker down in,” you huff, setting down your duffle bag on the farther bed.
“Just you wait until you feel the thickness of the duvet,” Spencer chimes in, which results in a dramatic sigh falling from your lips.
It was only a matter of time before you had suggested sharing a bed to gather as much heat as possible. Seeing as Spencer was a walking heater, it made perfect sense when he crawled into your bed and even more so when you huddled close together.
Despite the good doctor’s opinions on the amount of germs passed through physical contact, he found that you bypassed any and every one of those thoughts. Simply put, he didn’t mind your germs. After the three years you two had worked together at the BAU, Spencer had developed a bit of a soft spot for you, and you for him.
“Pretty boy,” Morgan smirked as he watched you enter with Spencer, treats in hand and the brightest smiles on your respective faces. “About time you two got together.”
“What?” Spencer squeaked, the heat rising to his cheeks. “No, they just brought me a coffee this morning.”
“Just you?” Derek turns to you, “What about me? I like coffee too, and don’t get me started on donuts.”
“So does the rest of the team, and everyone else in this office building. I can’t exactly afford enough for everyone,” you laugh, taking a seat at your desk.
“Not my fault the coffee machine broke down and maintenance hasn’t gotten around to fixing the damn thing,” Morgan groaned, tilting his head back.
“I’ll bring you one tomorrow, but it’s going on the company card,” you reply, flashing a smile to Morgan.
“Not a chance,” Hotch says as he passes through the bullpen.
Your conversation faded away as Spencer set up his desk far from your own. He couldn’t help but stare at the little heart drawn next to his name on the cup. You were his best friend, but he couldn’t help but allow his heart to flutter at the prospect of something more. Of course, he had weighed the pros and cons of asking you out, but ultimately decided it wasn’t the smartest idea.
It was all around bad timing. You had just gotten out of a rough relationship and swore off dating for the time being. Spencer watched as men and women alike pursued you each time you’d gone out on BAU bonding nights. It made perfect sense. You were the most beautiful person Spencer had laid his eyes on, of course other people would see that too.
Spencer had done his best not to let the idea of you in relations with another get to his head. Hell, he had spent so long trying to push away his own feelings for you. It’s not like workplace relationships were prohibited– Penelope and Kevin’s relationship was given nothing but support from the beginning. To him, there was simply no way that you would ever see him in that light.
Apparently he had been wrong, specifically about what kind of feelings you had for him.
When he had woken up in the middle of the night, Spencer found that the blood not only rushed to his cheeks at the state of your position, but to his crotch as well. You had unknowingly curled up against his front, your head tucked underneath his chin, legs tangled together.
For a moment, Spencer stopped breathing. You were so calm, completely unaware of the lewd thoughts running throughout his head. He felt ashamed for wanting to pull you closer and hear your sickly sweet voice moan his name.
“Y/N? Wake up, I’m sorry,” Spencer mumbled, trying to wake you.
Instead of opening your eyes, you had moved impossibly closer to his body, placing pressure onto his already aching cock. Spencer winced, simultaneously cursing and thanking whatever god above that allowed this to happen.
“Darling, I need you to wake up,” Spencer shook you again, sighing in relief once he saw your eyes flutter open.
“Was there another murder? What’s going on?” you grumbled, rubbing the sleep from your eyes.
“You really shouldn’t be rubbing your eyes like that. It increases the possibility of small scratches on your cornea, leading to redness, light sensitivity, and irritation,” Spencer spits out, trying his best to evade his evident nervousness.
“I just know you didn’t wake me up to tell me that,” You were slightly more awake now, still unaware of your (in Spencer’s opinion) compromised position.
“I’m sorry, I just need to get up,” Spencer rushed out, gesturing to your proximity. “Right now, preferably. I-I’m so sorry.”
Eyes wide, you shuffle away from him, apologizing profusely for moving around in your sleep. In your defense, the beds weren’t exactly the roomiest, and definitely not built for two people to sleep in comfortably at once. And he was just... so warm.
Spencer scrambled to get out of your shared bed, doing his best to cover his crotch with his hands. Already embarrassed enough, he finds himself bolting to the bathroom, locking the door behind him. He rubs his hands on his face, ignoring the statement he’d spat out to you minutes prior.
Unbeknownst to him, you had noticed his evident hard on as his lanky figure stumbled into the adjoined bathroom. Knowing your history, you’d be lying to yourself if you didn’t think of the prospect of a hypothetical relationship blossoming between you two. Before you could overthink the idea, you found yourself following his lead and stopping at the door of the bathroom.
“Spence?” you knock gently, trying to listen for any movement beyond the door. “Are you okay?”
“Yep!” he replied rather quickly.
“It’s completely okay, you know. You shouldn’t be ashamed for… that,” you say softly.
“Can we please forget about it? This is highly inappropriate, and I truly am sorry for making you uncomfortable.”
“Oh, Spence. Who said I wanted to forget?” Spencer feels his breath fall short. “Can you let me in, love?”
How could he even begin to say no to you?
Unlocking the door, you’re greeted with a disheveled looking Spencer, cheeks flushed a deep scarlet.
“What’s going on there, pretty boy?” you begin, taking a step closer to him.
“Look, I’m really sorry about this. I really didn’t mean to,” he begins, “W-what are you doing?” his voice falters to a whisper, afraid to speak any louder.
You placed your hands onto his wrists, gently pulling them away from his middle, allowing the view of his clothed erection on display.
“You really have nothing to be embarrassed of, Spence,” you smile, socking your head to the side. “Do you need some help taking care of that?”
“I-I couldn’t ask you to do that,” he mumbled.
“Why not? We’re friends, yeah?” Letting go of his wrists, you bring your hands to rest around his neck.
Spencer nods, instinctively putting his hands on your waist, pulling you closer to him.
“And friends help each other out,” he groans, shutting his eyes. “Say the word and I’ll stop. I’d never want to make you uncomfortable.”
“No!” he exclaims, gripping your hips tighter. “I’m just nervous.”
“Of what, darling? It’s only me,” you pause, holding his face in your hands, forcing him to look at you. “You have done this before, right?”
“Minimally, yes, but it's not just that. This could change everything. I don’t want to lose you as a friend if anything goes wrong. A-and the team! How are we going to explain any of this to them?” Spencer rambles, trying to avoid your gaze.
“We are the ones in control of this. It’s really our own prerogative to figure it all out. Either way, you’re still my best friend,” your voice fades away, lips pursing at all the thoughts running through your head.
“I am? I thought Penny was?” he spoke just above a whisper.
“Of course you’re my best friend, dummy. You make it difficult to not love you.”
What? Spencer’s jaw drops, struggling to process the words spilling out of your mouth.
“I can understand if you don’t feel the same way–” your sentence is cut off by soft lips pressing against yours.
Following his lead, you kiss him back just as eagerly. Spencer hums into your mouth as you gently tug at the roots of his hair. You took this as a chance to slip your tongue against his, nipping at his bottom lip. He was desperate, unable to get enough of the taste of your lips. Pulling you taut against his body, you let out a shaky moan feeling his erection press against your belly.
“March 13, 2011,” he says, taking a breath. “Exactly two months after you joined the team, you didn’t seem like yourself. You were really in your head, not even Penelope could cheer you up. It also happens to be the day I worked up the courage to invite you over to mine for some wine and movies to take your mind off everything.”
You hum, taking a pause to press a short kiss to his lips. “Yeah, I remember that. It was the first time we had hung out outside the office.”
“It took every fiber in my being to not kiss you while wine drunk,” he laughs, toying with the hem of your shirt. “I think that’s the day I realized that I fell in love with you.”
“Oh, Spence,” you coo, brushing the hair from his eyes. “I probably would’ve kissed you back.”
“You’d just broken up with your partner. I couldn’t do that to you. I wanted to be a safe place, not just some guy that wanted to get in your pants.”
“I’d like to think that both those statements can exist at once.”
Spencer purses his lips, trying to hide his smile. His heart was beating out of his chest. He’d never felt lighter than he did right now.
“What do you think about letting me help with this, hm?” Spencer moans as your hands travel down his body, hovering just above his bulge.
“I don’t think we can just be friends after this,” he whispers, leaning into your touch.
“Sounds like a plan.”

Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3
“There child” Mo’at told you gently, standing over your shoulder as you crushed the herbs in the mortar. “Perfect.” You smiled to yourself. You were a decent healer, but hearing it from her directly meant everything. Kiri had always been the best healer, always would be, but you enjoyed the profession. Feeling like you could contribute with something else other than making clothes.
Alongside you and Kiri, there were two other healers in training, and everyone was currently busy helping a hunting party that had been attacked by a group of Nantang. None had been seriously injured, but there were a lot of bites and scratches to clean and bandage. They were lucky, it could have been worse. But since there were suddenly so many patients, the supply of medicines ran low. As Kiri and the other two worked on the patients, you were happy to sit in the corner, making more healing paste as fast as you could. The patients were an important part of being a healer, but the thing that had always interested you most was the science behind it. Discovering how new plants could optimize healing, which ones soothed pain, which ones killed bacteria. You had recently discovered that alternating the weaving pattern of the bandages caused more air to flow through without exposing the wounds to the elements. That way, it lessened the chance of infection.
“Emmy, can you pass me those?” Kiri asked, pointing to a pile of leaves next to you. She smiled in thanks as you gave them to her. Your real name was Emreyìte, meaning surviving daughter. It was a bit on the nose, but you liked it. You mother had labored for over two days to bring you into the world, and you nearly didn’t make it. The name was supposed to convey the strength you had already displayed coming into this world.
When you finished crushing the herbs, you put them in the water stewing above the fire. Stirring slowly, and evenly, the water slowly changed color. But it needed to steep for a little while longer. This particular mixture of herbs soothed pain very efficiently when boiled into a tea. But the taste wasn’t particularly pleasant, so you always added some sweetness in the hopes of counteracting the bitter taste. All the hunters were given a cup of the liquid to drink. They all grimaced badly, making you smile a little. It was terrible, but you were still experimenting with the recipe.
You all worked in quiet unison until all the hunters had been treated. It was well past the start of the communal dinner by then, evening setting in slowly. The other two healers went to get something to eat whilst Kiri helped Mo’at to her marui. You stayed behind to clean up. And also take inventory of how much of the supplies had been used. Hunger rumbled in your belly, but it would have to wait.
“Knock, knock” a voice murmured. A voice you knew all too well. Butterflies erupted in your stomach as your breath hitched.
You turned around and indeed. “Neteyam” you breathed. “What are you doing here?”
He shrugged, watching you with a small smile from under his eyelashes. “I saw all the other healers join the dinner, but not you. I figured you’d be here, too wrapped up in your research to eat again.” He held out a steaming bowl in front of you. “So I brought you this.”
The smell of Yerik stew filled your nostrils, making your stomach rumble again. Neteyam smirked, proving his point. “Thank you” you said, accepting his gift. But it was only when he stepped inside the hut properly that you noticed the wound on his shoulder, making you gasp slightly. “Neteyam, what happened to your shoulder?”
“Nothing! It’s fine, don’t worry about it” he assured you, but not very convincingly.
“That needs to be cleaned” you stated, setting the bowl aside. “What happened?” You looked at his expectantly until he finally caved, quirking his brow in your direction.
“I caught a tree branch during fighting practice” he admitted with a nonchalant tone. “It’s fine.”
“Did you clean it, at least?” you asked, observing the wound. You already knew the answer.
“Yes” Neteyam said.
“Well, not well enough. Sit! Does it hurt?”
“No.”
You quirked at eyebrow at him, your tail swishing impatiently.
“A bit.” Neteyam’s ears flicked as his eyes flitted between you and the bowl of Yerik stew. “Can you at least eat first? Waiting a couple of more minutes won’t kill me.” He smiled at you playfully. He was normally very reserved, the smiling Neteyam was usually saved for his family.
But you only huffed, filling a cup with the last of the tea from earlier. “Here, drink this while I eat.” As you sat down with your bowl of stew, Neteyam took a small gulp of the liquid in his cup. His brows furrowed but other than that, he did an okay job of hiding his disgust. But having known him since you were kids, you could tell when he hid the truth. “You can grimace, you know” you giggled over the bowl. “It won’t hurt my feelings. I know it’s disgusting.”
Neteyam hummed, only making a small grimace after his next sip. “It’s not the best” he admitted with a sheepish smile. “But it’s effective. And a lot better than the last time. You’re getting very good at this, experimenting with medicine.” You couldn’t help but blush at his praise.
But you had also just stuffed your mouth full of food, so the only answer he got was that damned blush you wished would go away. As soon as you finished the bowl, you go to work on his shoulder.
Your hand trembled slightly as it made contact with Neteyam’s warm skin, holding him steady while the other hand cleaned his wound with a cloth. Your hand rose and fell with each of his breaths, and you leaned in to see properly in the firelight. Eywa, he smelled so good. Always had. It was intoxicating, and also the reason why you never got too close to him.
Your family and the Sully family had been friends since forever, you and your brother grew up together with the Sully’s, but as your brother made lots of other friends, your only real friend was Kiri. Of course, Kiri came with Lo’ak, Spider and Tuk and they were great, like additional siblings. But they weren’t Neteyam. With his broad shoulders, gentle voice, infectious smile, kind heart and protective older brother demeanor, it was impossible to not gain a crush on him. That crush had lasted on and on since you were fourteen. At seventeen, even you had to admit to yourself that you had fallen in love with him. And how could you not? He was everything, had everything. He was the handsome son of the Olo'eyktan that all the women gazed after, giggled around and tried to flirt with. He was the dream you could never have. It had been clear over the years that he only saw you as a friend, as Kiri’s best friend. So you had become very good at dreaming in silence and later suppressing your feelings for the man sitting before you.
Dreams of exploring with him, laughing with him, him confessing his undying love for you and making you his mate. And also not so innocent dreams, dreams of being with him. Of him kissing you, running his hands all over your body, his mouth following suit, him pushing his cock deep into your pussy, joining his kuru with yours, finally creating that everlasting bond…
A hiss from the man in question broke you out of your train of thought. “Sorry” you whispered, your mouth and throat suddenly very dry.
“It’s okay” Neteyam whispered back. You could have sworn that his voice was deeper, throatier, but it disappeared as quickly as it had appeared. “It just stings a little.”
You nodded quietly and swallowed, desperately trying to regain some moisture in your mouth so you could get your voice back. Standing up, you took a deep breath that you hoped was subtle and went to get the Yalna bark mixture. This was exactly why you tried to avoid being too close to him. Every time those big golden orbs watched you intently or his smell surrounded you, thought and memories of your illicit fantasies caught up with you and you had to remember that Neteyam was destined for so much more than a healer who was more interested in playing with plants than helping her patients.
He was watching you right now, you could tell. His gaze burned at the back of your neck, but when you turned back around, he thankfully looked away. You had to say something, quickly. The longer you stayed quiet, more memories of last night flooded your brain. Those fantasies of him wrapping your legs around his neck before he-
“Why didn’t you come here before?” you blurt out, desperately avoiding eye contact, trying to calm the erratic beating of your heart.
Neteyam shrugged with his good shoulder, his eyes following the movement of you fingers as you dipped them in the mixture. “There were so many wounded hunters, thought you should prioritize them.”
You huffed at his stubbornness. “Skxawng” you muttered, trying to not take in how defined the muscles around his shoulder area were. “I al- we always have time for you” you corrected quickly. Please Eywa, don’t let him catch that slip up!
You dared a quick glance at his eyes, but you couldn’t read the expression there. He opened his mouth and closed it several times before speaking. “I’ll remember that” he breathed.
Quickly, you looked back down at his wound and shuffled closer to be able to apply the ointment. Too late you noticed that this position practically placed you between his legs. His knees rubbed against your waist as you leaned forward. Again, you placed one hand on his chest for support before rubbing your coated fingers over his wound.
A small groan left his lips. A groan that caused you to close your eyes and legs tighter together. Thank Eywa that your braids covered your face as you worked, if he saw the deep violet of your cheeks or your eyes that were more black than yellow, he’d probably bolt out and you’d have to dig yourself into a hole of embarrassment and stay there forever. There was nothing sexual about that groan! He was in pain, you reminded yourself. Still, all you could feel was the beating of your heart and the lightning bolts of pleasure going from your stomach to your core.
This was exactly why you needed to keep a safe distance from him! When there were other people around or you kept yourself at a respectable distance, it was easier to remember that all you would ever be was his friend. It made it easier to suppress everything.
As soon as you could, you bolted from your position as if you had just been burnt. Clearing your throat, you look away, letting your braids hide your face again. “Okay, you’re all set” you murmured under the guise of putting everything back at its rightful place.
You could hear Neteyam standing up behind you, shuffling about a little. “Thank you, Emreyìtre. I appreciate it.” It was so rare for someone to call you by your full name. It caused a flutter of your heart that made you feel both happy and sad at the same time. “Are you staying here long?”
Why did he want to know? Did it matter what you did? “Probably not” you answered slowly, finally turning around to face him. “We used up a lot of Mo’at’s supply today. I was going to forage some more for her so we can all start fresh tomorrow.”
“Now?” he questioned, gesturing to the setting sun outside of the tent. “It will be dark soon.”
You crossed your arms, tail swishing slightly. “So? I’m not afraid of the dark.”
Neteyam’s ears flicked upwards along with his tail. “I know” he smiled. “But I don’t want to see you get hurt.”
You sighed… You wanted to say something derogatory to distract him from the real reason you didn’t want him accompanying you. It’s not like you could tell him you wanted the alone time to cool off and maybe shoot a couple of arrows in between gathering. But when you looked into those hopeful, determined eyes of his, you couldn’t lie. Damn him! “Fine. As long as you remember that I’m perfectly capable of taking care of myself then you can make yourself useful and help me carry everything.”
You thrusted a satchel bag into his hands. Neteyam snorted and slung it over his shoulder before accepting the large pile of smaller containers that you had woven for this very purpose. You gathered the same equipment for yourself before also armoring yourself with your daggers and bow and arrow.
As you walked, you tried to stay a couple of paces ahead of him, both to show him the way but also to give yourself some space to think. As eclipse slowly set in, his tanhì would illuminate more and more, creating that perfect canvas of speckled light. He had always been so beautiful in the dark, his features somehow more prominent than during the day. Over the years, you had spent many evenings around a campfire with him and his family. Carefully watching him out of the corner of your eye, you had decided that nighttime was his best look.
But you couldn’t think of that right now! If this was going to work, having him accompany you, then it couldn’t be awkward. You had to treat him the same way as you would anyone else helping you. And that meant no ogling! Hence why you were walking ahead of him.
Neteyam walked diligently behind you, not saying much, just following in your footsteps. Eventually you stopped in front of a clearing.
“Here” you pointed towards a patch of green. “See those plants with the rounded leaves?” He nodded, stepping closer to you to observe the plants. “Dig up the roots, clean them and put them in one container. As many as you can fit.”
“What do they do?” he asked curiously as he sunk down to his knees.
“They calm anxiousness” you answered immediately. “They can also help people sleep if prepared properly.”
As Neteyam worked on the roots, you used your knife to gather the same herbs you had boiled earlier today. Neteyam proved to excel at this, like everything else. He quickly filled the woven bag with roots and immediately asked for a new task. You set him to work as much as you could, both to get the work done faster and because you secretly wanted to see that pleased smile whenever he showed you his collection of plants. He was like one of those yellow canines Jake had showed you on a computer once. The ones that existed on earth. He had that same eagerness to please and do well.
It warmed your heart that he genuinely wanted to help. Yet you also had to remind yourself that this eagerness was not singled out for you. He probably wanted to help everyone with the same fervor. He was the next Olo’eyktan, after all. If the people were supposed to follow him, then he had to show he would be there for them with the same loyalty.
But as the evening went on, Neteyam followed you more and more, asking you to tell him about each and every plant you collected. And it was nice to have something to talk about. Something that you could sink into without feeling self-conscious. So, you happily shared your knowledge.
“See this one?” you sat down in front of a plant with thick, pointy stems and sharp edges. “Kiri and I discovered the use of it a while ago. It soothes burns, produces a cooling sensation.” You broke off a piece of the stem and cut it in half. A clear, gel-like liquid oozed out. You collected some on your fingers and you could swear you heard your foraging partner swallow. But before you had time to process whether he did, you reached for his arm to stroke some on it. “Feel that?” you smiled up at him.
“Yeah” he murmured before looking up at you. “That’s incredible.”
“I’m experimenting with it, to see if I can make turn it into an ointment somehow.”
Neteyam looked at you with hooded eyes. “If anyone can, it’s you.”
A blush spread across your cheeks. He had given you so many compliments tonight, it was hard to believe that this wasn’t one of your daydreams. Even harder when you observed the way his tanhì glowed in the moonlight, the way his braids fell to perfectly frame his face, his gentle smile, his golden eyes looking up at you from under his eyelashes again. The urge to be closer to him was overwhelming. Every fibre of your being longed for him, to feel his lips against yours. But you had to stay strong. He was forbidden territory. Kiri’s brother, the future clan leader, and most importantly; he wasn’t interested. And making any kind of move would ruin whatever it was that you two had.
So you cleared your throat and stood up. “After we get some of these, we should be set to head back” you said quietly, turning away from him.
The two of you quickly gathered the last plant and began walking back. But before you had gotten far you stumbled upon some of your favorite materials for making clothing. A small squeal of happiness left your lips as you bent down to scoop up some of the pebbles.
“Do these have a medical purpose?” Neteyam asked you curiously and picked some up himself.
“No” you admitted bashfully, placing the small white pebbles in your bag. “I use them to make beads and other decorations for my chest coverings.”
“Oh…” Neteyam’s eyes flitted downwards for a moment before he bent down to scoop some more pebbles into his hand to examine them further. “Is it hard to make beads out of them?”
“No” you shrugged. “Just time consuming.” Neteyam nodded slowly.
The two of you walked the rest of the way in silence. It had been such a nice evening and you desperately tried to remember that it was simply an outing between friends. You couldn’t get your hopes up over this one thing. He just came along to make sure you didn’t get lost out there…
“Hey” Neteyam stopped you with a hand on your elbow when the village appeared ahead. “Thank you for letting me come with you. I really needed to clear my head for a bit.”
Your ears perked in interest. “Oh?” His mood seemed to have dampened somewhat, judging by the way his eyes suddenly had darkened and his tail swished slightly when he looked at his family’s marui. “Can I ask why?” you probed gently. “Or is it too personal?” Whatever it was, a part of you really wanted, needed, to know.
Neteyam rubbed the back of his neck nervously. “Mom and dad have been trying to have a conversation with me for a couple of days. A conversation I don’t really want to have.” He looked at his home, his cheeks a bit more violet than usual. You nodded gently for him to continue. He cleared his throat and refused to meet your gaze. “They want me to start looking for a mate.”
And just like that, you could feel cracks appearing in your heart. “Oh…” you whispered, now avoiding his gaze, as well. You had always known this day would come, but mentally preparing and being slapped in the face with it were two entirely different things.
“And it’s not that I don’t want a mate” he added hurriedly. “I do. I just don’t want to be rushed into any big decisions. Whoever I mate with will have to burden a lot of responsibility and I don’t want to force that on anyone. I know what’s like to have so much responsibility thrust upon you that you didn’t ask for.”
You nodded slowly, blinking furiously. Tears prickled at the corners of your eyes, but they had to stay away! You would not cry over the news that a friend was supposed to celebrate. Be supportive! “I’m sure whoever it will be will make a great tsahìk one day” you murmured, clutching your bag closer to your chest. “Since we’re here, I can take the bags to the healing hut.”
“I can help you with that!” Neteyam offered immediately, making you want to cry even more. But not now, not yet!
“No, no I’ll be fine” you lied, your voice a lot shakier than you would have liked. “Go home, Neteyam. I’m sure your parents are wondering where you are.” He reluctantly handed you the bag he was carrying. You gave him a forced smile. “Goodbye.”
You started to walk away before he could answer, desperate to get away. He called after you. “Goodbye Emmy!”
The tears finally spilled over. It felt like a ‘goodbye’ in more ways than one…
Let me know what you think!!!

Denial of Infatuation.
(Arkham Games) Edward Nigma x F!Reader
(Declaimer: I don't condone or approve of the actions taken in this story. It is purely a work of fiction.)
Word Count: 837.
Contents: Very Suggestive content, Kissing, Obsessive Behavior, Intensely Possessive Behavior.
Edward found these thoughts he often had of you troublesome and quite annoying. The fact that he couldn't keep you out of his mind and it was starting to impact his work was pissing him off. What exactly made you so special? Why did you deserve such a huge part of his thoughts? He wasn't sure, and if there was one thing he hated more than his work being disturbed, it was him not being aware of something.
There were some nights were he found himself walking into your room during the middle of the night, simply so he could stare at you, watch you sleep and rack his brain trying to come up with an answer to these... feelings he had.
Ultimately, he came to a conclusion that overall satisfied his need to know. He concluded that these pesky feelings weren't anything like... love or infatuation, no, he was too important of a man to feel those pathetic things! It was obviously acknowledgment that you, as his assistant, were almost his equal, as close as anyone could come to being that is, and as a result he clearly felt a desire to treat you better than he treated everyone else, maybe even reward you for all your hard work.... he decided that perhaps some compliments were in order.
"... You look adequate today..."
"Huh? Um... Thanks, I guess?"
"The fragrance that your body is currently giving off is surprisingly pleasant..."
"... Do you mean the soap I use? I'm not really wearing any perfume right now, so...."
Needless to say, his attempts didn't often go too well. He was just so used to degrading people that he viewed as beneath him that he genuinely struggled to give decent compliments. He didn't need those to show you his... appreciation, though, maybe actions would assist him where words failed?
He started leaving you little metal flowers that he made out of scrap parts for his contraptions. His heart would beat rapidly in his chest whenever you'd find them. It was an annoying and unfamiliar feeling for him, but he slowly grew to like it.
So, of course, how else was he supposed to react when you told him that some guy asked you out on a date? How dare he! No one.... no one else deserved you, no one other than him. He couldn't allow this to happen, not on his watch. Some idiot wasn't going to just waltz in and lay claim to someone that Eddie viewed as His.
He got rid of the foolish man without any real difficulty. However, the fact that you kept getting asked on dates boiled his blood. So he kept disposing of any man who tried to win your heart, and every time you'd be in tears, wondering why those men always stood you up, and he'd take every chance to comfort you, which shocked you each time because of his usual behavior. But he'd wait, sooner or later you'd realize just how lucky you were to have earned his... interest.
"You know, you don't need those archaic Imbeciles! I mean... you already have a perfectly eligible bachelor right in front of you..."
"H-huh? What do you-"
"Me. Why don't you just put to rest all of these... foolish ideas of being with some boring, unintelligent, incompetent man, and be with me instead?"
"E-Eddie... I don't know... you're my technically my boss, wouldn't that be a bit weird?"
He stared at you in silence for a few moments before resting his hand on your cheek, caressing it surprisingly gentle.
"I promise you, My dear.... that it'd be perfectly fine... in fact, I'd make sure you were happy with me.... trust me..."
"Okay then.... I guess I could um... give it a try?"
You were then startled slightly by his lips suddenly crashing into yours, a desperate sense of need, passion, and repressed desires evident with how forceful and rough the kiss was, his tongue lightly ghosting over your bottom lip, almost demanding that you open your mouth for him. You're too dazed to really respond, though, which leads to him reaching up and yanking harshly on your hair, causing you to let out what sounded like a mixture between a gasp and a whine, he took this opportunity to slide his tongue into your mouth, exploring it thoroughly, as if trying to map out everything. After what felt like quite a bit, he pulled away, wipping a bit of saliva off of his lips. His gaze met yours, a somewhat concerning glean in his eyes as he pulled you closer to him, his breath fanning your neck as he spoke.
"Say that you love me, tell me that I'm the only man that deserves you!"
"Y-you're the only man that deserves me, Eddie...."
You let out a surprised yelp as he picked you up in his dirty, grease, sweat, and dirt covered arms, quickly carrying you towards his room. He clearly was hoping that tonight wouldn't just end at a kiss for him.

No longer you
Adam x F! Reader
Warnings: mild OOC because it's my first time writing for this prick.
Song used
Adam begrudgingly walked down the long heavenly hallway, Lute was left behind to prepare for the extermination that would take place later that very day.
Paintings decorated the walls, ones of his time in Eden with Eve, He wished he could just grab them off the wall and smash them to smithereens but unfortunately he couldn't because Sera would be on his ass about it, as would the folks who painted them.
Eventually he arrived to the door at the other side of the door, immediately pounding on it.
"Hey, Sweet cheeks, I'm here open the fuck up!" He called out.
A loud sigh was heard before the door cracked open, a dove-like cherub flew out.
"The prophet is inside, do keep your voice low as-" the poor cherub was interrupted by the first man,
"Yeah yeah, I know We do this every fucking extermination." Adam proceeded to walk pass the Cherub and walk into the dim room.
You were sat in some fancy looking chair, a floral tea pot infront of you, the light outside shined onto you, you looked positively ethereal through the translucent veil covering your face.
Adam couldn't deny that he got fucking lucky landing you as his wife, and if he could he'd pepper you in kisses and more but alas, he couldn't unless he wanted to get scolded by Sera, not here at least.
In this room you were a prophet, someone who gave him an idea of how each extermination would go, obviously it'd be the same as every other time, they'd kill a bunch of fuckwad sinners and come back, like every other time.
Adam couldn't even open his mouth to say anything before you began to speak.
"I am the prophet with the answers you seek,"
You looked towards him, normally you'd bring a decent vision, but with what you saw, you couldn't state it outright.
"Time, I've unlocked it,"
Adam immediately grimaced at the look of pity you held in your eyes, the last fucking thing he needed was to be pitied, not by you of all people.
"I see past and future running free," you gestured for him to take the seat in front of you.
"There is a world where I help you get home," you picked up the tea pot, you poured the tea within into a matching floral teacup.
Adam sat down the chair creaking from the force he used, he picked up the cup muttering a "Thanks"
"But that's not a world I know," you didn't dare make eye contact with him.
"What?" You heard the teacup get placed back into the table, a droplet flying out and staining the white cloth that covered the aforementioned table.
"I see a song of current romance," you closed your eyes as the visions replayed in your mind, you had a vague idea of who they were having caught a glimpse, The princess of hell and a former exorcist.
"I see the sacrifice of woman,"
So, so many exorcists would lose their lives, and even if you didn't approve of the whole extermination thing, you didn't think they deserved death.
"I see portrayals of betrayal," the image of the day Lute tore Vaggie's wings and eye out flashed.
"And a snake's final stand," Poor guy, he never stood a chance.
You took in a breath, opening your eyes to look Adam in his.
"I see you on the brink of death," you heard Lute's scream, it sent cold shivers down your spine.
"I see you draw your final breath," that smile, that stupid, goofy soft smile of his, that would only be reserved for you usually.
Adam looked unimpressed, not taking your visions seriously, him? Dying? Because of little miss hell's princess? What a joke.
"I see a man who gets to make it home alive, but it's no longer you" It wasn't Adam, but the fallen angel who had stolen away both of his wives.
Adam scoffed, "This can't be,"
"We've slaughtered and sailed through the toughest of hells," He waved his hand around in a circular motion.
''Now you tell us our efforts fail now?" You sigh as you slip out of your seat, standing up.
"I see her hotel covered in gold," truthfully you saw it in rumble, but the angelic golden blood was spilled up on it.
"Faces of sinners who had long believed you invincible," you saw them cheering, cheering at the fact that the first man, the man you loved for some reason, was dead.
"I see your wife with a man who is haunting," you saw him, no longer as he was now, no longer a winner but a sinner like those he slaughtered each year.
Adam on the other hand immediately thought that you meant Lucifer.
You prayed that he wouldn't break the porcelain tea set that rested on the table, it was gift from Emily.
"A man with a trail of bodies," "Who?!" He stood and shouted with such anger that a normal person would flinch, but you simply pointed your finger to him.
He visibly relaxed at that, still on edge on whatever you could mean with the word choice of haunting.
"I see a song of past romance," you saw Eve relaxing on a beach, or who you thought was Eve.
You moved, taking Adams hands in yours, locking eyes,
"Adam, I see the sacrifice of woman, I see portrayals of betrayal," he turned away from you,
"And a snake's final stand," you moved to pull his head towards you.
"My love, I see you on the brink of death, I see you draw your final breath," the faint trace of tears filled your eyes as Adam rolled his.
he didn't believe you for whatever reason, was it the over abundance of confidence that he had in his exorcists? The very ones that would perish, that would lose their lives and their friends.
Adam scoffed, grabbing your face taking the chance to plant a kiss on it.
"Relax Sweet cheeks, it'll be like every other extermination, we go down there, fucking slaughter them then come back and party like every other time,"
"Adam, did you not hear a single word of what I was saying?"
"Yeah, yeah I die or whatever, which is impossible because if you forgot, I'm the first fucking man, dickmaster sixty-" a knock was heard at the door, causing you to snap your head at it.
"Sir Adam? Lieutenant Lute told me to tell you that it's almost time." The Cherub from earlier called out, causing Adam to groan, "Adam, please-" "You got nothing to fucking worry about Sweet cheeks, see you later." He booped your nose for whatever reason before leaving, slamming the door behind him.
You watched as the remaining Exorcists returned, injured, traumatized and without Adam.
You sighed as leaned against the window frame in the house you shared with Adam, glancing out the window at the night sky you fiddled with his Halo.
"I see a man who gets to make it home alive," you tossed it onto the bed before looking back at the window.
"But it's no longer you."
Oh you were so going to tell him 'I told you so' the moment you saw him again.
Good evenin' folks! Surprise surprise I actually posted on Wednesday! Now I do hope you enjoyed this little thing with Adam, it did not come out as angsty as I would've liked, but I got another future seeing reader fic slow cooking in my WIPs only that one is a TAD bit more angsty! As always thank you for tunin' on in! Thank you and goodnight!
Psst! Join our discord, it's kinda dead rn!

For That One Guy on Tumblr part 7
Chilchuck x !fem !halffoot reader
*minor spoilers for Marcille's backstory if you are an anime only person. It just involves one of her parents. It's in the paragraph that starts with "yeah sure"*
Senshi and Izutzumi stopped talking and everyone glanced around quickly and then looked at Chilchuck.
Marcille raised her staff, and Laois put a hand on his sword.
"Look around you!" Chilchuck said brusquely. "We're in a fucking labyrinth!"
Marcille groaned. "Reeeeaaaalllllllyyyy? I thought that was lower down!"
"Well the thing about a labyrinth is that it *moves*" Chilchuck said.
"I know that!" Marcille snapped back. "everyone knows that! But not usually whole floors right??"
Laois interjected. "This must be because of the changes we've seen in the dungeon! Whole floors must be shifting up and down. We can't expect anything to be the same."
You noticed Senshi looked a little pale.
"Anyway, everyone keep behind me now." Chilchuck said. "Things are about to get real dicey. Izutzumi that goes for you as well."
Abruptly, he turned to you. "You can help, just stay behind me as well until I can see you know what you're doing. I don't want to get skewered because you didn't catch a spear trap."
"Yeah sure." Little fucker. You knew how to spot a fucking spear trap. Even newbs knew how to spot a fucking spear trap. Whatever, he was probably genuinely pretty competent and he'd had to deal with these blundering other races for so long he'd probably forgotten what other halffoots were like. I mean even the elf looked like she was half tall-man, so she was probably more solid and clumsy than a regular elf.
You slipped your shoes off, there was a decent chance you'd need to be ready to spot pressure traps and you wanted to be prepared. Plus the floor looked smooth, without any sharp points to cut yourself on anyways. You hadn't had a chance to get some fabric to make your regular ankle brace wraps and you felt kind of naked without them.
"Hey hang on." You glanced up to see Chilchuck sorting through his pack. He grabbed something, pulled it out, and thrust it at you. Two neatly rolled long strips of white fabric. "You'll probably need this. I didn't think of it before. Do you know how to wrap your ankles?"
"Of course I do." You snapped. Again only a base newb wouldn't know to do that. Even as early as you entering the dungeon that had been standard procedure for whoever dealt with traps. You sat down and started to put them on.
The others waited around impatiently while you quickly wrapped your ankles. You felt uncomfortable doing it with an audience, and they probably didn't understand the necessity, but if you had the choice you were not going to go without ankle protection. No fucking way you were going to turn an ankle again and have to limp along for days, half useless.
While you were getting situated, Senshi quickly and expertly cut up the mushroom and wrapped it in some kind of leaf, muttering happily to himself about how lucky they were to find such a flavorful ingredient. This also seemed to remind him about your revival sickness, and he pulled out a flask and made you drink some more broth once your wraps were on.
Finally, everything was set up and the party set off again. They moved slowly, you stayed slightly behind Chilchuck as he had requested.
At first everything seemed clear. The plan was to stick to what seemed the main passage and try not to go off from it.
Then you stepped on a tile and felt it start to shift.
You threw your weight back on your other foot, thanking all the gods you'd still been stepping carefully, and said "hey! We got something here!"
Chilchuck immediately froze and looked around at you, and most of the other party members seemed to take it with varying degrees of seriousness, but Izutzumi just brushed past you. "Why are we so worried? Who cares if there's a few traps, I'm tired of waiting around."
She stepped on a tile just in front of you, and you heard a soft *click!*. In a fraction of a second you pieced together trigger tile + holes in the wall at head height. Arrow trap. Maybe an eighth of a second delay.
Reflexively, you dove forward at Izutzumi in a low tackle, driving your shoulder into the back of her knees. You threw your whole weight behind it, and it worked. She collapsed on top of you as the arrows sailed harmlessly just above the both of you.
She hissed and violently untangled herself from you.
"THAT" you gasped out, winded by her elbow in your stomach. "IS WHY WE WORRY."
"Izutzumi!" Chilchuck looked more pissed than you'd ever seen him, but stayed frozen in place. "stay the fuck back! We can't do our fucking jobs if you're in the way and it'll be a hell of a lot faster if you just stay back!"
"I would've been able to dodge the arrows on my own!" Izutzumi snarled back. "Y/N just-"
"Like hell you would! Y/N saved you from being skewered by arrows, now learn a lesson from this and STAY. BACK."
She looked like she might be about to argue the point but Marcille put a hand on her shoulder. "Why don't we let Chilchuck and Y/N do what theyre good at, it wouldn't be good to have to ressurect you. You can walk back with me if you want?" She said hopefully.
Izutzumi grumbled but sulked back into the back of the party with Marcille, who looked pleased.
Chilchuck turned to you and huffed, rolling his eyes at you in a "can you believe who I have to work with" way. "Come on, come up with me. You do that half of the corridor, I'll do the other half. Everyone else, ONLY step where we step, got it? ONLY where either ME or Y/N steps, okay? Tell me, OUT LOUD that you understand."
Everyone except for Izutzumi nodded and voiced various expressions of assent, and Marcille firmly linked elbows with her. Ah well, that would have to do.
Chilchuck seemed to think so as well, and jerked his head at you, moving carefully to the left to allow you to come up beside him on the other side of the corridor.
Together you continued to carefully work your way down the corridor.

Scenerio: You and Bullfrog go on separate missions without informing each other, you both secretly attend the same party, switch clothes, and try to blend in so you can kill the same guy. Until you both finally noticed the other.
A/n: I couldn’t help myself. This idea stuck to me for a few days now. I was planing to write more but yeah… I am leaving this like this to you guys.
Hehehe, Jelly Bullfrog~
Masterlist
Warnings: curses, alcohol, mention of killing of course, might be a bit suggestive :/ (this is a bit more lean to female reader so... heads up?)
Words: 1.6k
Taglist: @blorbostation @eateableworm @livelaughluvvfaithyy @darkchanx @astoraa @shiroisotto64 @kalemwoof @sleepyscribe @oneofthesillies @lpsyumy-chan
Everyone is welcome in the tag list
Dear anons; I would really appreciate it if you could choose an emoji while sending your asks and requests (and stick with it) so I can tell you apart. Thank you~
Bullfrog adjusted his tuxedo in front of the mirror. Why did he enter the party like this? He could find a way in and take advantage of a good moment. But there was too much risk. Someone might notice. And this man was better protected than he thought. He would have to look out for a moment when he was alone at this party. It was his only chance. His own home was much more sheltered. The only way was to join this party is like this. Of course, since he didn't have an invitation, he would enter this way. It made him feel a little lucky to have hybrids around... as waiters? Eh, not much of his liking but his own comfort was out of the question right now, he had to use what worked for him. He took a deep breath and placed the mask on his face. When he thought he looked decent, he came out of the restroom. He looked around carefully with the tray under his arm and left when he didn't see anyone. Okay, act normal. You are a waiter. You are a waiter. This is not a normal party either, of course it isn’t, he needs to look quite formal here.
The music getting louder and louder proved that he is going to the right place. He carefully adjusted the wrist of his right wrist, when he felt the sharp object a soft smile appeared on his lips, confirmed that it was still there, and continued forward. It was starting to get crowded around him. His eyes were carefully searching for his target.
When he finally saw him, he changed his path but stopped immediately. The waiters around him were distributing drinks. Those whose trays were empty went to get new ones. It would be very strange if he walked around empty handed like this. He immediately followed someone and went to get a few drinks on his tray himself. After a short while, he returned with a few glasses of drink. When he saw his target again, he moved towards him.
"Hey, you. Get me a bottle of red wine now."
He paused and turned towards the voice.
"What are you staring at? Go and get me one!"
"Of course, sir." He muttered and scoffed when he turned his back on him. He sighed this is gonna take longer then he liked.
────────────────────
You laughed along with him at his jokes and sighed, "Oh, dear. I don't even remember laughing this much in my entire life!" You laid your head on his shoulder with the sweetest smile you could muster.
He wrapped his arm around you with vodka in his other hand, "Your smile is like a revelation to my ears. Let jokes be your slave, babe. As long as you ask, I will play all my cards on you from morning to evening." You muster everything in you to not roll your eyes at this.
Finally you were waiting for this moment, he was drunk too. Perfect moment. You used your most seductive look and voice, slowly turning to him and took your mask off, "Oh, really? I would love to hear more about those..." you traveled your hand on his chest and leaned to his face, "cards you can pull." You breathe out.
He bit his lip, definitely getting excited, "If so... let's get inside my room so I can show you all my tricks~" You can't believe how easy this was.
You grinned happily, you were nearly at the point of sitting on his lap. God, finally!
"Yes!" You acted giddily, bouncing on his legs as he grunted hungrily, holding your thighs tightly.
He smirked, "Mm, slow down a bit, dear. I want to order one more drink then I am all yours."
He put his finished glass down on the table, stealing a kiss from your neck.
You playfully sighed, "Mm, be quick. I can't wait for you~”
"Of course." He egoisticly responded.
He made a hand movement to one of the waiters nearby, not getting a response caused him to scoff, "Newbies." You heard him mutter. You laid your head on his chest to ease him up.
You notice him relax and speak up, the waiter must finally understand and approach like he asked. "Get me another vodka. The strongest we have. You want something sweetheart?" He softly muttered to you.
You hummed and gently sat up, thinking of an excuse, "No, thank you, I think I am good. The only thing that gets me drunk tonight can be you, honey~" You flirted, your eyes landing on the waiter that in front of you, the smile on your lips dulled. His honey colored eyes glaring deep into the man holding you.
The Fuck He Is Doing Here?!!
The man's cocky laugh seemed to be deafen to your eyes as his arms tighten around you. Bullfrog's eyes gazed over you only for a second. You knew him more than anyone. And you know for a fact that he was holding so much back from just killing him at that second. And throwing so many questions at you. He knew you were an agent. But you never told him you choose to lure your prey like this.
Getting inside a party as a waitress to kill his target? That's not much of his still either. Is he here to kill the same guy? Seems highly possible. You quickly cleared your head. You can talk to him about this later. Just finish your job first.
"Alright, bring me a vodka then we can go to my room."
You give one last glance at Bullfrog as your eyes meet. You both stared as if communicating through it. He sighed, hesitated and walked back. You smiled up at the man.
"Yes." You gently caressed his chest. "Will you excuse me a bit, please? I need to freshen up my makeup a bit for the night. Wait for me here, don't leave anywhere~"
He groaned and held you tighter, "Come on you are already good like this. Don't leave me now~"
You gently push him away, "Ah, come on. It won't take long. We are already going to your room after this~"
He finally accepted and let you go. You get up from his lap and send a kiss. You turned around and walked away. What an idiot.
Now, where is Bullfrog?
Before you can even start to search someone pulled you inside a restroom. You quickly get out of their grip but halted before you can start fighting.
"Oh god damn it. You scared the shit outta me." You heaved a sigh.
He quickly took his mask off, "What are you doing here with that guy?"
You scoffed, "Isn't it obvious? I am here to kill him."
He took a deep breath, "Yes, of course." He sighed, "A heads up would be nice..."
"No, you are right. Sorry about that..."
You muttered after a bit of silence, "So... we are here to kill the same guy?"
"Pretty much."
You smiled at him, "I already got him under my finger. It's easy to convince him to let you in also. Wanna kill him together?"
He breathed out a sarcastic laugh, "Yeah I can see that... there is nothing for me to do here it seems! S'il te plaît. Go and do your job, my job, madame. Freshen your pretty makeup and please go onward." He bowed. Something ached in your heart to see him like this. He was definitely upset. Maybe more than upset.
You sighed, "Come on, don't be like that.” You gently caressed his cheek, “I already said sorry. You know that I love you and only you, right? So, stop worrying. We don't have much time. Tell me, are you gonna follow along or not?"
He sighed, he is not gonna act childish about this, "Let's get this over with."
You gently grabbed his mask from his hand and placed it back on his face, you bit your lip, as he pressed his cheek to your warm hand, enjoying the kind touch, "Is anyone told you that you look so good in a suit." You gently fixed his tie.
He chuckled, "I heard lots of stuff today. But you are the first." He glanced up at you with a smirk.
You pulled him in by his tie, he didn't resist as you both leaned in for a hot kiss.
You break the kiss pressing your head to his, "... I am sorry. I should have told you everything. Will you be able to forgive me?"
"Je fais but only in one condition, I want to kill him myself." He smirked.
"I thought you weren't the revenge type of guy?" You laughed.
"I am not. I'm just doing my job."
You smiled, "I would like to watch you kill that asshole. Please go ahead. But first lemme freshen my makeup and you should go ahead and pick a drink." You walked towards the mirror with your bag.
He grumbled over the door, "Poisoning that guy would feel really good right now. It would be much easier too." He pouted.
"Too bad you don't have poison then." You smirked while doing your makeup.
"Why do I feel like you have one?" He raised a brow, smiling.
"Not at the moment." You informed with a smile, "Maybe for our next target~"
He laughed, "This never happened before. We both having the same target?" He hummed, "I hope we encounter this much more, I like it. Though a heads up from both sides next time?"
"Sounds good. We shall inform each other more often."
He chuckled and opened the door, "Bonne soirée, mademoiselle." And left you smiling.

suspenders: on ao3 here.
2011.
A wolf whistle stopped Carlisle mid-step as he walked down the second-floor hallway.
“Someone’s getting lucky,” Emmett sang, his signature heavy footsteps coming up quickly behind Carlisle.
“That is the hope,” Carlisle said quietly, eyes fixed on his freshly shined shoes, mindlessly twisting his wedding band.
“I’d fuck you,” Emmett chuckled, his strong hand briefly landing on Carlisle’s shoulder as he used the leverage to push himself forward.
Carlisle’s brows furrowed as he looked over at the young man. “If you were a woman and my wife, of course?”
“Don’t be weird. I’d do it as me,” Emmett frowned as if Carlisle was broaching the confines of their relationship with his suggestion.
“Oh, thank you?”
“Anytime, Buddy,” Emmett elbowed Carlisle’s arm as the two began to resume their walk down the hall. “She’s been gone what, a month right?”
“Two months, three weeks, and six days,” Carlisle responded a second too quickly to seem normal.
His wife had been offered the opportunity of a lifetime, lead designer and contractor of a historic restoration project. The original architect had been one she had admired for nearly a century, and the chance to fully restore his work had been one she under no circumstances could refuse, even if the project required her to live on-site.
“Not that you’ve been counting,” Emmett chuckled.
“Of course not. I support my wife in all her endeavors, even the ones that require her to live in a different country for two months, three weeks, six days, and seventeen hours.” “That was almost believable,” Emmet said as they reached the staircase.
“Good, I’ve been practicing.”
“Have fun,” Emmett grinned, punching Carlisle’s arm one last time, before jumping over the railing onto the first floor — an act he was strictly prohibited from doing while Esme was home — and bounding out the front door.
Carlisle made his way down the stairs in a dignified manner, futzing with the drape of his sweater as he walked. He stopped in the first-floor foyer, examining his reflection in the entryway mirror. He ran his fingers through his hair once, twice, a third time. The lock at the front of his hair refused to stay gelled back, stubbornly falling on his forehead. His wife once remarked it made him look like ‘Clark Kent’s’ alter ego, he thought it made him look like a bum.
“Someone’s dressed up,” Rosalie said from the living room.
“Do I look alright?” Carlisle asked, turning to face her, holding his arms out at either side.
“Better than you usually do, but that’s not saying much,” she said from her spot on the couch. A disassembled speaker lay on the coffee table in front of her. A soldering iron in her hand as she pieced two parts back together.
“You know some people do find me half-decent looking.”
“I am painfully aware. You forget Esme and I are friends,” she sighed, turning her attention back to her project.
Carlisle took the move as a sign the conversation was over and turned back to the entryway mirror. His focus was fixed on his tie this time. It was light blue floral silk. Esme had bought it on one of their first trips to Paris, remarking it complimented his eyes.
“Speaking of Esme,” Rosalie said, dropping her voice so the rest of the house could not hear her unless listening intently, “did you know she enjoys a high-waisted pant?”
“Does she? I feel as if most of her pants have a reasonable - Oh, you are referring to my trousers.”
“I did not say that,” Rosalie said but he could see in the mirror she was nodding her head. “I did not say she thinks a pant like you used to wear in the thirties are becoming or quote accentuates your hips.”
“Good to know,” Carlisle said, turning to walk back up the stairs, appearing to be nonchalant. “On other news, I believe I forgot something upstairs.”
He was halfway down the hall when Rosalie quietly called after him, “Suspenders.”
“Suspenders?”
“Yes, but wear something over them.”
“Thank you,” Carlisle said, resuming his walk toward his bedroom.
“I didn’t tell you that.”
“Of course not.”
Once in his bedroom he fetched a pair of dark brown high-waisted wool trousers from the very back of his closet and tried them on. He examined himself in the floor-length mirror, turning and posing. He supposed they did accentuate his hips. Was that a good thing? He clipped on a pair of suspenders and slipped a slate blue sweater over the ensemble. With one more glance in the mirror, he admitted he did look better.
He switched the pants he had previously neatly tucked in his duffel bag for two pairs of high-waisted trousers that he had not worn since 1974 when Alice broke the news they were dreadfully out of style. Another set of suspenders was thrown in the bag, just in case.
Truthfully he did not need to primp as if he was courting her again. His wife would surely arrive at the private airpark smelling of construction crews and latex-based paint, in a pair of dusty stained coveralls. Yet, there was something exhilarating about the preparation, a giddiness similar to the first time he asked her to accompany him on a hunt. As close to a date as they could manage back in those days. Hopefully she still found him as charming.
Two at a time he made his way back down the stairs. He looked over to the entryway mirror one last time, running his hands through his hair, brushing the lock of hair back, it promptly fell when he removed his hand. With a sigh, he turned away from his reflection.
Before leaving he popped his head into the living room doorway, Rosalie had been joined by Edward, Renesmee, Alice, and Bella. Bella and Edward were tucked into an armchair reading from the same book. Alice was scrolling on her laptop. Renesmee sitting on the couch next to Rosalie, picking up a piece of the speaker turning it over in her hands, and then putting them back in the wrong place on the table.
“I’m off to the airport,” Carlisle said. “We will be back soon. Do not burn down the house, please.”
“Can I go with you?” Renesmee pleaded in a manner that was not age-appropriate, but he suspected was a result of being raised by nine adults she had wrapped around her finger.
“Yet again, no you may not,” Carlisle said.
“Why not?”
“Because I said so.”
“Ugh,” Ness groaned, slumping in her seat. “I haven’t seen Grandma in months. I have so much to tell her.”
“I assure you she will want to hear every detail when we’re back in a week.”
“A whole week?” Edward asked quietly, looking up from the book he and Bella were reading.
’You have absolutely no room to talk. How many times I have served as a babysitter?’ Carlisle thought with a raised brow.
Edward nodded in concession, pressing his lips together as he returned his attention to the book in his wife’s hands.
“This outfit of yours is awful,” Alice complained. “Why do you never wear anything I buy you?”
“Your last purchase was a lobster-patterned three-piece suit,” Carlisle said.
“It was nautical.”
“I think he looks fine,” Rosalie said, glancing up briefly.
“That’s quite a compliment, coming from her,” Edward teased.
“Thank you, Rosalie,” Carlisle said, picking his keys up from the entryway rack, and opening the front door. “Goodbye, don’t cause any chaos, please. And if you do… I am begging you, don’t call.”

Got Game? Haikyu edition !
Ranking Hiakyu characters on how good they are at hitting on people. Basically does your fave has rizz or nah?
A/n: there are sooo many haikyu characters so if I forgot your fave I'm sorry feel free to add them in wherever you want & if you disagree be nice about it or I'll bite you this took a long time there’s SO MANY OF THEM
33. Mad Dog
He’s scaring hoes. No explanation needed.
32. Aone
He was dead last until I remembered mad dog existed. He is scaring hoes as well. But like if someone could give him a chance I think he does have a good heart. He really needs to be introduced to someone or something, bc cold walking up to someone is never going to work for him I fear.
31. Ushijima
More intimidating that scary, but still makes people nervous. He’s just like super dry and has bad social skills. Does not know how to be flirty at all. He’s cute so I think on occasion there’s girls that want him enough to look past all that but honestly he will almost always strike out unless he has a wingman (Tendo) to help balance him out.
30. Sakusa
Bro is mean and grumpy. I also feel like he doesn’t really care for random hook ups anyway so he is not trying to pick up people a lot. On the occasion he does see someone he wants to approach, I just struggle to see him being flirty. Like you almost get the sense he is judging you when he’s talking to you. Which, to be fair, he probably is. He is another person who would benefit from having a wingman, though he won’t admit it. He’s getting past Ushijima by the skin of his teeth just because he isn’t as imposing.
29. Kita
Another one who I don’t see trying to approach too many people. I think he would come off as disinterested even if he did find you cute. Would probably try to flirt by asking weird philosophical questions. Does better than Sakusa bc his energy is slightly less intense.
28. Yamaguchi
He’s just too awkward. He gets super shy and flustered around anyone he thinks is cute. Sometimes gets lucky when he goes for someone who finds his shyness cute, but often is shit outta luck.
27. Tsukishima
Of course Tsukki and Yams are next to each other. Tsukki is another grumpy one, but not as intense as Sakusa. He too doesn’t approach too many people, but more than Kita or Sakusa would. I could totally see him being one of those dudes that relies on being tall for getting girls. Like he thinks he doesn’t have to try that hard since he is over 6 foot💀 I think he flirts by being mean but it comes off too mean or condescending at times. Definitely tries to be more selective with who he approaches though, won’t approach anyone he doesn’t think he has a good chance with.
26. Goshiki
Talks a big game in front of his friends, but gets really nervous in front of the person. Blushes like crazy and trips over his words. Can get past that at times, but flirting definitely doesn’t come as naturally to him.
25. Tendo
Tendo is fearless, which does help his success rate because he just will walk up to anyone he thinks is hot. Doesn't really get nervous at all. However, he is a little weird (I say that affectionately) so he's definitely not everyone’s cup of tea. Strikes out a decent amount bc of that, but honestly it doesn't really bother him at all. Will just move on to next one. He’s really just there for a good time.
24. Yamamoto
Gets very nervous around girls he thinks are hot. He gets loud when he is nervous which can freak people out. Tries his best, but either comes on really strong or really stiff. Sometimes can get past that if gets hyped up by his friends beforehand.
23. Kunimi
He’s okay at it. He’s quiet and a little snarky, which doesn’t alway connect well. I think if he is able to break the ice and get a conversation going, he has a good success rate. But if he isn’t able to get the person hooked into the conversation quickly, he fizzles out.
22. Asahi
He is like 50/50. He’s the guy who comes up to you and you get super excited because he’s cute, but he can fumble it. If he is in a nervous mood, it is really hard for him to get a convo going and be natural. Those days he is striking out more. If he is feeling confident that day, he has a really good success rate. Again, 50/50.
21. Oikawa
I know this is low but hear me out. Because girls were crazy over him in high school he really never had to try to get someone to like him. Therefore he really doesn’t have good skills in that area, especially when just approaching someone random. I think he would learn fairly quickly, but it would be a tough start.
20. Kenma
He’s kinda shy and doesn’t like approaching people bc he’s a lil lazy( but mostly nervous). However, he’s super smart and if he can figure out a way to get you to approach him, he’ll definitely do that. Can have trouble standing out to people since he is on the quieter side. But circling back to the smart thing, I think he is good at zeroing in on his type & what will get that person hooked on him. Definitely spends some time observing you before he makes a move. His success rate does go up a lot if he has a wingman, but he doesn’t NEED one like some people on this list.
19. Tanaka
He’s very similar to Yamamoto, but I think he is just a bit better at staying calm. Just a bit. Definitely is nervous to start& can come off a little strong at first, but if you give him a chance he’s able to show he’s a good, genuine guy. Also feel like if he is with a friend his success rate goes up like crazy. Like he doesn't need the wing man to intervene for him, it’s more like having his friend there makes him feel confident and takes away his nerves. This is why he is always begging Nishinoya to come out with him.
18. Matsukawa
Middle of the road guy. I feel like he is bad at opening conversation, which hurts him. However, if someone gives him a chance for a longer conversation he does a lot better.
17. Daichi
He’s not bad, but he’s also not amazing? Like I don’t really see him as someone who gets very nervous around people he finds cute. However, he’s not super flirty and can struggle to hold people’s interest if that makes sense? Just kinda mid tbh.
16. Koganegawa
He has like puppy dog vibes. He has a lot of fun flirting. I feel like he is a lil bit of an air head, so he doesn’t even realize he should be nervous. But since he has such positive, easy going vibes it’s super easy to talk to him. His down fall is that he can be a little too spacey and forget to follow through, ex forgets to ask for your number or tell you he thinks you’re cute.
15. Kageyama
He’s not super flirty either. But I feel like as he gets older he grows in confidence and gets better at approaching people. Let’s be honest them beautiful fucking blue eyes has him picking up most people he wants. His weakness is sometimes he’s too reserved and the other person thinks he’s not interested. Either than that a pretty solid success rate
14. Akaashi
Honestly bro is so fine he really doesn’t have to try that hard. Similar to kageyama in that he can struggle with coming off too aloof. Still, I think he’s super polite and engaging which makes him charming without even really trying
13. Lev
He also has some puppy dog vibes but I think he is more in control of it. Especially as he gets older he mellows out more. Being a professional model gave him a lot of confidence, but he still is a lil goofy on the inside, so it never comes off as cocky or anything. I could see him trying a little too hard to be suave at times that it works against him. Like it comes off a little disingenuous. But he’s a 6′4 model, he’s not struggling THAT hard to get numbers lets be real.
12. Nishinoya
He’s higher than Tanaka bc I think he comes off slightly less strong. Maybe it’s just because he’s small 💀. But he doesn’t feel intimidating even though he does come on strong. He’s able to do it in a way that’s very endearing. Also once he gets talking he’s able to reel himself in more. He’s also super funny which helps his success rate a TON.
11. Kuroo
Idk why but I can see him wanting to use like pick up lines 💀 like he thinks he’s being smoother than he really is. Kenma tells him he’s being a dork(which he is). He’s hot enough that most people will give him a chance, though. Once he gets past that he genuinely charming and doesn’t struggle to get someone’s number
10. Bokuto
Another one that can come on strong but in a way that works for him. I can deadass see him just walking up to someone and flat out telling them they’re gorgeous. And it feels so genuine(bc it is genuine) and not just like someone trying to get in your pants (even if he is trying to get in your pants). If he strikes out tho it totally kills his mood and it’s hard for him to recover.
9. Atsumu
He’s the opposite of bokuto where him calling you gorgeous sounds like he’s just trying to get in your pants 💀 but he is SUCH flirt oml. I think that can hurt him at times bc he’s laying it on a little too thick. But usually finds a good balance. Can charm the pants off most people if you give him enough time.
8. Aran
Solid flirter. Confident enough to approach you and make conversation without being overbearing. Chill and easy to talk to. Even if you don’t end up going out with him after, you still enjoy the talk you had. Also doesn’t make it weird if you decline him.
7. Sugawara
Suga is so good at getting your guard down. He’s just sweet and genuine you feel at ease with him (it’s those big brown cow eyes). So easy to talk to and is surprisingly funny. Plus when he tells you he works with kids it makes him seem even sweeter.
6. Terushima
And then we have to total opposite. Honestly he should be lower. He comes off strong to the point of being cocky but somehow makes it work. Let’s be honest it’s the tongue ring(he definitely makes suggestive jokes about it). I also hc that he’s super tatted as an adult. I think he does well because he’s superrrrr good at picking out the girls who would be into his vibe. Also like who doesn’t wanna hook up with a bad boy every now and then?
5. Hinata
Listen. This may be high but I truly believe Hinata has good game. So good that at times he doesn’t even realize the effect he is having. I think his favorite way to flirt is getting you to do something competitive with him. Has no issue walking up to you at the beach to ask if you wanna play volleyball with him or even just asking to play beer pong at a party. He doesn’t even really have to try once you agree because he is super good at everything he does (which is a turn on) and you have a lot of fun. Great at asking you on a date without even realizing you’re being asked. Like he’ll say you should go get something to eat after playing together and you immediately agree. Then you’re like wait a second... this is totally date. And you’re very happy about it.
4. Semi
I feel like we don’t know that much about his cannon personality, but he has such a cool vibe. Liken effortlessly cool so you’re naturally drawn to him. Plus he’s super good looking like come on. Really just knows how to curate his look. He’s someone expect to be a little mean but he’s actually a sweetheart. Has you head over heels in no time.
3. Osamu
Atsumu is punching the air rn. He’s got Atsumu’s confidence but is able to keep from being too much. Subtle flirt, but super good at it nonetheless. Loves flirting with costumers who come to his shop because it gets him extra tips but also you keep coming back to order shit just so you can talk to him more. He knows he’s got you right where he wants you. He gets soooo many numbers left on receipts and absolutely will call them if he liked you.
2. Suna
God. This man. He was born to flirt look at him!! He’s so fucking smooth. He’s sorta aloof but he is really able to work that to his favor. Definitely confident enough to just walk up to you and start a convo. He is a good talker but he almost doesn't need words??? Like he can just look at you a certain way and god you’re sweating (in the best way). Easily gets anyone he sets his sights on.
1. Iwaizumi
Iwaizumi has the best game idc. He’s equally hot and approachable. Has plenty of confidence but is never cocky. Truly has a kind, warm aura that makes you feel so comfy talking to him. He’s super smart and funny. Like you just feel like you’re having a conversation you don’t even realize he’s flirting with you but you’re absolutely developing a huge crush on him. The type you talk to and immediately feel like you’ve known him forever. He truly never strikes out. It’s a gift.
Bonus: Coach Ukai
It didn’t feel fair to compare Ukai to everyone bc he is a few years older and definitely more experienced but I couldn't leave him out. He has INSANE game. Like just look at him. He’s fine, a lil bit of a bad boy vibe, has a heart of gold (LOVES dropping in that he is a volunteer coach with kids). I think he would be sexy n fun flirt like it’s just too easy for him.

You should do a fic where reader is like a female version of Sweeney Todd or sm and mrs.lovett is like obsessed with them
:)
~~~~~
~𝓜𝓻𝓼. 𝓛𝓸𝓿𝓮𝓽𝓽 x Fem!Sweeney!Reader~
(Headcanons + Mini-Oneshot(s))
SWEENEY TODD BUT LESBIANS? YES.
Note(s): Female Reader, it is mentioned that the Reader likes to sketch, "(L/N)" stands for "Last Name", I occasionally switched between using "Nellie" and "Mrs. Lovett" to keep it fresh, Reader overall has Sweeney's personality and backstory
Warning(s): Dark themes, Cannibalism mentioned, Blood mentioned, Mrs. Lovett is a yandere, Delusional mindset, Unhealthy + Codependent relationship, Manipulation, Mention of being hanged
How long it took to write: 4 hrs, 30 mins
~~~~~
𝓜𝓻𝓼. 𝓛𝓸𝓿𝓮𝓽𝓽 set down a plate in front of you, next to your parchment of which your pencil had been scratching on for the last hour. On the plate sat a piping hot fresh meat pie. She put her hands on her hips and tilted her head, watching you intently, waiting for you to take a bite. You glanced at the pie, remembering how horrific the last one she fed you was. Your eyes flicked up to her briefly, expression unreadable. You then returned to your drawing.
She sighed in exasperation, letting her right arm fall to her side. She nudged the plate forward with her index finger. "C'mon, y'haven't eaten a thing all day. Promise this one's good." Nellie's gaze lingered softly on you as she added, "...Put a lot of love int'it, Ms. (L/N)," she added gently to guilt trip you into taking a bite.
You decided to humor her, praying that this one wouldn't do anything too terribly awful to your gag reflexes. Her stare made you uncomfortable as you took a reluctant bite. Lucky for you, this one was decent- delicious, even. You paused your chewing, taking another hesitant look at her. Did she just feed you one of the victims? You had no desire to try human for yourself. Mrs. Lovett quickly shook her head no. "Chicken. It's chicken, I swear it," she promised.
You thought it over momentarily, muttering a "Thank you", then taking another bite. Mrs. Lovett smiled proudly, giving your shoulder a pat. "O'course, love." You had expected her to leave your personal space, but rather, she lingered. She continued to hover beside you like some sort of maid awaiting a command. One more glance from you gave her the hint to leave. She took a hesitant step backwards, murmuring an awkward, "Oh- right." Nellie walked away, throwing one more secret look at you from over her shoulder.
She began to wipe down the counter, cleaning off imaginary crumbs as an excuse to keep an eye on you. She occasionally looked to see your reaction to the pie, you seemed to be enjoying it. Nellie certainly knew the way to a man's heart was through his stomach-...well. She hoped it worked for ladies, too. Mrs. Lovett looked down, pretending to focus on cleaning up the kitchen. She hummed as she worked, all while contemplating her future with you.
The business was running smoothly, and she was worn out by the end of each day from running to the cellar, collecting and chopping the "meat", baking, taking orders, serving, etc. She certainly had her work cut out for her. It would all be worth it, she knew, for one day, she'd live a cozy life with you. Perhaps not like she was imagining, but you and she could get by. The money was certainly piling in with the customers that came every day. Soon, she could finally live comfortably. But she couldn't live comfortably without you. She wished you'd open up eventually.
~Mrs. Lovett is so in love with you that it's disgusting. If she were given the chance to inject your blood into her veins just to feel you closer, to know a part of you is pumping through her to keep her alive, she would. But this wouldn't be enough- she wants to be part of you, as well. If she gained the bravery to do so, she would cut her own hand open to allow her blood to drip into your next meal, watch you eat it, and be satisfied that a part of her was inside of you, connecting you to her by blood.
~Of course, this is all wishful thinking. Mrs. Lovett tries to be somewhat normal with you, while still making it very obvious that she's in love with you. In public, she casts glances at you from the corner of her eye and makes a point of standing close enough to you that people grow suspicious that you may be a couple. She always makes something for you to eat, taking an extra long time on it so it's perfect (note that she can, in fact, cook delicious meals, she was only unable to before because there wasn't money for high-quality ingredients). She checks on you so often that it becomes a chore for you to tell her "I'm fine" multiple times a day, etc.
~Nellie sees herself as being the only person who can tame you. She thinks she needs to gently coax you into opening up to her. She finds ways to manipulate you into thinking that the world is cruel and she's the only warmth you'll find in it. Nellie believes she's the best option for you, and you're the best option for her. You were born for each other, your hearts beat in sync every second of every day, she's sure of it. Mrs. Lovett sings about you, sometimes purposely around you to show off her voice, and so you know that you're the only person on her mind.
~She'll eventually grow very lonely and desperate for you if you deny her for a long period of time. Nellie gets rather touchy-feely with her affection, brushing her hand against yours, kissing your shoulder when she walks by, fixing your hair far more than needed, and giving you a few pet names.
~But, Mrs. Lovett isn't always so lovey and adoring. She's refreshingly cheeky and exasperated. She once pretended to be inconvenienced when she spotted a cut on your hand from your barber shears. She patched you up and scolded you to be more careful, while you sat and humored her, knowing full well you could do it yourself. Nellie is very happy to be taking care of you, even if it's just the smallest opportunity to do so, and even if she plays hard to get about it.
~Somehow, her clingy behavior, the way she looks at you so deeply, and how she's always insisting on planning for the future with you, begins to get into your head and heart. She's such a unique lady, you've really never met anybody like her. Nellie always looks so perfectly disheveled, you've started taking a liking to her messy hair and her cheeky remarks from across the room to fill the silence. She's a quick-witted lady, any suspicions from a customer would result in an easy cover-up explanation from Mrs. Lovett. She works quickly and efficiently in her shop, trotting about to get the work done. All of her strange little personality quirks became home to you. Nellie infuriated you in more ways than one, and really, you wouldn't have it any other way.
~By this point, you and Mrs. Lovett are completely codependent on each other. You couldn't imagine a life without her. This was all her idea, anyway, where would you be without her? Poor and alone, that's where, perhaps even back in prison. The same goes for Mrs. Lovett. She'd continue to be alone in her empty shop without you. She most likely would've gone mad (although, she's gone quite mad already) with her lonesome life.
~Nellie couldn't be more satisfied with the way everything turned out. The business was flourishing, the money was coming in, and she had the love of her life by her side.
𝓜𝓻𝓼. 𝓛𝓸𝓿𝓮𝓽𝓽 had quite a tiring day. She was busier these days than she had ever been- she was grateful for the customers, but she was undeniably exhausted. Going up and down the steps of the cellar had done a number on her knees, she had been in such a hurry that she'd burned herself on the furnace a few times, and to top it all off, one of the customers had been infuriating. When she finally had time to sit down and enjoy a cup of tea, she'd fallen asleep.
You quietly went down the stairs to the first floor of the building, Nellie's pie shop. You spotted her lounging back on the chaise lounge, the dying fire crackling softly, her tea cold without even a sip of it gone. You reckoned she must've been exhausted, doing most of the work, while you simply stayed upstairs slitting throats and sending them down the chute. You had the easy part of the job, you realized, as you made your way with silent steps over to where she lay.
Nellie felt you coming toward her even in her sleep. She turned her head in your direction and muttered something incomprehensible at you. You didn't respond verbally, but you gained the courage to lean down and give an affectionate peck to the top of her head, your breath gently ruffling her unkempt hair. Mrs. Lovett immediately opened her eyes and looked up at you. She scoffed when she saw that you were walking away. "Y'can't just kiss me an'walk away. Come back, love," she called after you, her voice sounding raspy as she had just woken up.
Mrs. Lovett sat up to make room for you, while you hesitated before walking back to sit by her. She rested her chin on your shoulder, looking up at you with rich dark brown eyes. "Ms. (L/N)," She murmured tenderly, waiting expectantly for you to kiss her lips. "Don't be shy," Nellie added playfully, hoping that you would follow through.
All of her dreams suddenly came true when you cupped her cheek tenderly. She wanted to rush it and kiss you already, after all, she'd been waiting months for this, but she knew it would make the moment far less special if she gave you a hurried kiss. Nellie's eyes fluttered shut, as did yours. You felt her tender lips against yours moments later, your body melting into her like soft butter on warm toast. Neither of you had kissed anybody in years. This felt like a first kiss for both of you, full of adoration and pure unadulterated devotion.
Just as yours had, her body melted, as well, in relief. She was finally kissing you, after so long of daydreaming about it. Nellie softly ran her fingers down your jawline, her other hand busy tracing the back of your soft neck. You could feel her smile against your lips. Once the kiss was broken, she looked up at you sweetly. You caressed her cheek with your knuckles, causing her to lean into your hand as though she had never been touched so gently in her life.
You and Nellie had an unspoken agreement that night. You'd stay together forever, until death do you part- whether from natural causes, or from the noose you'd hang by should society ever find out the secret ingredient in Mrs. Lovett's meat pies.

Scarecrow helping his partner in overcoming their trauma and fear of doctors....
Imagine being so afraid of doctors and hospitals that you refuse to step foot in one. Now imagine dating Jonathan Crane and him helping you overcome that fear. (I honestly think he'd love to help his partner overcome their trauma, it's a chance to study you hahah)
I think firstly, he'd do this in a neutral environment, maybe your apartment or a coffee shop. He'd pull out a sleeve of medical equipment for you to study and look at safely without worry of it being used on you. Maybe he only brings out one tool out at a time, letting you hold (if possible for you) and touch the tool. He teachers you how it's used in a surgery or whatever it's needed for in the medical environment. He may not be a medical doctor, but he's quote knowledgeable of it's practices. Which is nice.
You may feel uneasy, but somehow he makes it feel safe. You know that despite his evil demeanor, he's NOT going to inject you with that needle in his hand. There's no toxin present either. The no needle in the syringe so you can even hold it and examine it safely. He might jokingly pose you with the tip of the syringe though, he's gotta have a LITTLE fun!!
Once you are comfortable with the various tools, and anything that may bring you distress, the next best thing for your therapy is to go to a real hospital. Maybe even talk to a doctor, Jonathan has connections after all....
Jonathan drives you to Gotham General Hospital and parks out front, giving you time to do some deep breathing and sike yourself up for walking inside. Gentle words of encouragement escape his lips, he actually acts like a decent human being.
He reassures you that this is a simple tour, no procedure will be done, nothing to be afraid of. You are lucky, you see! You get to go being the scenes and see more than what the average patient sees! He even lets you hold his hand if you get scared, wow!
Imagine walking down the halls, your feet shaking and yet, you are not very afraid. You know he will be there for you, he's always supported you. It will be okay.
and. It IS okay. You learn a lot, you see someone undergoing a CT scan, you look into a door's window and see a surgery happening live. The whole place seems safe, for once in your life. Nurses are kind to you, doctors shake your hand. It's not so bad, you think.
You're no where close to being able to go in alone, but now you know that you're NOT alone. You have Jonathan. And that's enough to ease your fears. Maybe you can overcome your trauma, just maybe.

Summary: You are just a Serf, and one day gain the attention of the Captain of the Second Company of Ultramarines. It's not a good thing. Just what did you do to upset him so?

You were born and raised near your family's farm on Calth. You had grown up hearing about the Glory and Wonder of the Imperium and how very Lucky you and the other citizens of Ultramar are to have the protection of the Mighty and Noble Ultramarines.
You had heard stories of how some of the stronger boys in your farming community were blessed with the chance to become Ultramarines. But that had been a few generations ago when the farming community had a poor harvest and they had to give people as part of the tithe more than finished and raw farming goods.
You bite your lower lip a little as you continue to pull weeds and tend to the section of the fields You had assigned to you to work on. There has been a bad drought that has made the usually high yield farm rather lacking. You have heard your parents and the local town leaders talking about it.
With the Tithe Coming within a few short weeks, and a lack of agricultural goods. They had been arguing over who to send as tribute and part of the tithe. As a farming community it was heavily encouraged to have multiple children for a variety of reasons.
The families with more children got tax breaks and help from the centralized government for Healthcare, child rearing and daycare. As well as cheap, decent quality education and help with feeding and funding Children born and continued growing. You were one of seven children and are among the middle of the pack.
You are full grown, but due to circumstances still stuck at the family farm, working on it rather than having your own place to live. While volunteers are preferred a lottery was going to be set in place for the whole community to gather and those of a certain age range were going to be the most targeted for the Tithe-ing.
You are in that age range, you aren't sure if you want to be one of those chosen to go. Whether it is into the Astra Militarum, Chapter Serf, or into a different part of governmental service. If it happens, you will do your duty and say your goodbyes to your loved ones.
The sinking sensation that you felt proved true five weeks later when your name was called as part of the Tithe to the Imperium. You were just barely able to say goodbye to your siblings. Before you were whisked off to be assessed and put into quarantine with your fellow Calth-ites. After quarantine and skills tested, you were given the uniform of Serf.
And to your greatest joy and honor. The colors of the Ultramarines, denoting which holy chapter you had been chosen for. You whisper in gratitude to the God Emperor for his mercy and wisdom. You swiftly change into the uniform And follow after those who were chosen and head to the proper disembarkation point.
One of the higher ranking serfs explaining the rules and consequences for breaking them. As you walk by, you and the rest of the Serfs have to flatten yourselves against the walls when Astartes in Blue and Gold Armor go walking by, you keep your head lowered out of respect, even as you peek at them from the corner of your eye as awe and dread grips your heart. You had only ever heard of the Angels of the Imperium before. And now… you get to serve them, what an honor.
Even if it makes you anxious, one of the Ultramarines brushes past you, he has a stern expression on his stunningly handsome face. You swear you feel his eyes flicker over and stare at you ever so briefly before snapping back in front of him towards where some of his fellow Angels are.
Once they leave the hallway you and your fellow new Serfs are hurried along to their destination as the Serfs who’ve been there longer and are in charge continue to go over the rules, regulations and consequences of disobedience.
Over the next several months you learn of the complex social and political hierarchy of the Serfs. Or at least, you do your best to do so as it seems a tricky, complicated and almost arcane nature. Far more complex that a simple farm hand turned chapter serf could comprehend at times. Although you did your best to do your duties swiftly, promptly, quietly, and with as little impact on your higher ups as possible.
You are carrying some clothing from one part of the ship to another when you sense movement out of the corner of your eye. You stop and shift out of the way when you spot blue and gold ceramite armor and an Ultramarine Space Marine comes walking over. You dutifully flatten yourself against the nearest wall to give the massive man more room.
The Ultramarine pauses and stares down at you. It was the same one that had briefly looked at you all those months ago when you’d first come aboard the ship as part of a tithe.
“Serf,” He barks at you.
“Yes, Lord?” You say trying not to jump.
He scowls at you and your heart sinks and you feel like you want to cry. “What the fuck is that accent?”
“I-I am sorry my lord?” You try as you carefully try to enunciate Low Gothic properly.
One of his eyes twitch and he scowls down at you, “Speak properly or stay silent. Serf.”
You nod, even though you feel hurt, welling up, and confusion. He was the one to start to speak to you. “Yes, Lord.”
“Hrm. Barely better,” Cato sneers down at the country bumpkin now blessed to become a Serf of the Ultramarines.
They have the same fucking accent that, Prissy bastard Captain Ventris gets when he’s talking with his uppity giant bastard of a Sargent Passinius. He’d had yet another disagreement with the Captain of the Fourth Company over tactics and Calgar had barked out orders that the pair of them needed to break it up and cool off before coming back to the meeting.
He had meant to go to the training salles to cool off as he seethed in his wrath when he spotted that one far too pretty looking Serf that had come aboard McCragge’s Honor a few months ago. Not that he had noticed them at all. Or that he’d been, for some reason, tracking them from time to time. Not that he’d sought them out while he was in a temper because of Throne-cursed Ventris.
Their large eyes staring up at him, with tears starting to gather at the corners of their eyes. Tch. Pathetic. Even as something else shifts in his hearts at seeing their emotional reaction to him. He’d hardly said much and they were already acting like he was being a Bastard. So he scowls down at them some more and snarls that they need to be tougher to survive as a Serf serving Astartes.
"Leave," He barks and you bow and scurry off and away from him as you continue to do your duties, trying to figure out what it was that you did to upset the Second Captain of the Ultramarines.

3 pitch pearl
cw: panic attack
3. cold hands in warm hands | pitch pearl
The Honors English 3 class shuffled into their first period, the students bundled up from the chilled December air. Wet shoes squeaked against the linoleum after braving snow and ice outside. The air was thick with tension and exhaustion as the junior class was just barely surviving their final exams before their holiday break.
Danny found his way to his seat, hoping, praying for the best. This was an important semester after all - college applications were just around the corner. He had to do well or risk his chances at getting into a decent university. Sure, he’d gotten by decently with his higher-than-average intelligence (it was a Fenton thing), but this year’s courses had been rough. If he didn’t pull out of this class with at least a B…
He took a deep breath, and tried to calm the butterflies in his stomach, ignore the ache in his head, and steady his shaking hands. The first part of the English exam was multiple choice - he was confident enough in that. The second part scared him slightly - writing essays wasn’t his strong suit, but he’d seared the entirety of Catcher in the Rye into his mind. He could do this. He had to.
“Alright students, phones off, clear your desks,” Mr. Lancer announced with a stack of papers in hand. “I want to get these passed out to you as soon as possible so you have the full amount of time to complete it. A reminder that there are two parts - don’t forget to do both of them.”
The teacher looked around the room. “Best of luck to all of you, and enjoy your break.” His smile did little to ease Danny’s nerves. He grabbed his lucky pencil (it was hardly more than a nub at this point) and placed it on his desk, then dragged his sweaty palms against his thighs.
Mr. Lancer reached his desk, gently setting down the exam, and gave Danny an encouraging smile, which he tried his darndest to return, but probably gave more of a grimace.
Danny took a final breath, then dove in.
The first section did some good for Danny’s confidence - he only had trouble with a small handful of the questions, but at least he could take an educated guess. Now onto the essay section.
Three prompts were provided. He only had to answer one.
As he scanned through the list, his heart gave a drop. No, he shook his head. Just gotta read them again. Carefully. I can do at least one of these.
Yet as he read through them again, then again, and a third time, Danny couldn’t help but feel absolutely screwed.
His breathing picked up, hands shaking once more. His thoughts began spiraling until he couldn’t finish one before picking up the next. Danny was panicking.
He nearly jumped out of his seat when he felt a hand on his shoulder. Mr. Lancer looked down at him with a concerned expression. His teacher made a nod to the door, and guided Danny out into the hallway.
“Take a minute, Daniel. Come back inside when you’re ready,” he said with a smile.
Danny leaned against the hallway and slunk down against the wall. How humiliating. He crossed his arms and leaned his head forward. Now I’m gonna fail the test and everyone saw me freaking out about it. Fuck fuck fuck.
He wasn’t sure how long he sat there before a soft “Danny?” interrupted his mental spiral. He didn’t move though. He couldn’t.
“Danny, whats wrong? Are you hurt?” the familiar voice said.
Danny still didn’t answer.
The air around him became colder as the presence approached him. Icy hands grasped his arms and unfolded Danny from his cocoon. Now he was looking into the burning green eyes of Amity Park’s own ghostly hero.
Phantom kneeled in front of him, grabbing Danny’s hands in his.
“I don’t know what happened. But I know you’re upset. I know you’ve been stressed, and working so hard the last few weeks.” As he spoke, Phantom gave Danny’s hands a comforting squeeze.
“I’m gonna fail,” Danny croaked.
Phantom’s face hardened. “Don’t say that. You don’t know that. As long as you get back in there and finish what you started, you cannot fail.
“You’re the smartest person I know, Danny. I’m so proud of you. And whatever happens, you should be proud too. Now can you just take some deep breaths for me?”
The two sat in silence, hands still intertwined, as Phantom watched Danny steady himself. It wasn’t a cure-all, but Phantom’s presence was doing something to bring Danny back to earth.
“Okay,” he said, a little shakily. “I’m gonna go finish my exam.”
Phantom leaned his forehead forward so that it was touching Danny’s. “You got this babe,” he whispered, then planted a kiss on Danny’s cheek before swiftly disappearing.
Danny swallowed, stood up, and went back inside.

kurt kunkle x dom male reader
I'm still working on requests but I wanted to post something. Hopefully this is at least decent, I'm like, half asleep right now 😵💫
cws: sex on camera, oral (reader receiving), mean reader, degradation, no prep, edging, aftercare
"Kurt." You say flatly. This is the third time he's stopped in the middle of sucking you off to check the view count of his stream on his phone.
"Sorry, sorry." He says, barely taking his eyes off the phone.
You sigh and roll your eyes. Eventually, you get fed up with it, and he moans quietly as you grab his chin and force him to look at you.
"No one's going to watch your stream if you're just reading the chat the whole time. You want to be a good boy, right?"
He bites his bottom lip, his face becoming flushed. He nods, giving you a desperate look, going back to sucking your dick, taking as much as he could into his mouth. You move your hand from his chin to his hair, holding his head in place. Everytime you see his eyes drift off to the side where his phone is, you give his hair a small tug, making him whimper and draw his attention back to you.
You grunt, starting to thrust into his mouth. You eventually close your eyes and throw your head back, getting closer to orgasm. The feeling quickly fades though when Kurt pulls himself back off of you, thanking someone for donating. You stare down at him, and he laughs nervously when he notices.
"Sorry. They uh– they want you to fuck me." Kurt says, avoiding eye contact with you as you stand.
"Get up." You respond.
He does, messing with the front of his jeans where you can see his erection, pressing uncomfortably against his pants.
"Pants off and on the bed. Now." You say. Kurt responds immediately, kicking his pants off and laying on his back.
You stand between his legs, pulling him closer to you. You spit into your hand, using it to lube up your cock before lining it up with Kurt's hole.
"W-wait– you aren't going to–" He starts.
"You're lucky I'm even doing this, so you better fucking take it, Kurt." You growled.
You start to push into him, barely giving him a chance to adjust before you thrust into him roughly. He gasps and whines, gripping the sheets underneath him.
You grip his hips tightly, not caring if it leaves bruises as you slam into him. That turns him on even more. The thought that you don't even care, just using him like he's just a toy for your pleasure.
He shuts his eyes tight, tears forming as he lets out sobs. His moans go higher in pitch, and you can tell he's close so you slow down before stopping completely. Kurt whines, panting heavily.
"You wanna cum? Beg for it." You demand.
He starts pleading with you, but you interrupt him, grabbing him by the hair and pushing his head so that he's looking at the camera.
"Not me."
He glances at you, and when you gesture towards the camera, he looks back over at it.
"P-please, I'll be a— a good boy, I need to cum, please!" He begged, crying. He knew it was pointless, his chat was way more harsh than you were.
You look over, reading some of the messages. You make a humming sound, and then look back at Kurt.
"Sorry." You say, shrugging.
You move your hands back to his hips and thrust back into him slowly, only pushing the tip of your cock in before pulling out. You repeat the action, driving Kurt crazy. He whines desperately, trying to push himself back onto you but your grip on him is too firm.
You press yourself back into him, fully this time, but you don't move. Instead, you wrap your hand around his cock, stroking lightly. A sob falls from his lips, writhing in your grasp.
Kurt gasps, getting closer again and hoping you'll let him cum this time but you pull away right before he can.
You lean down, hovering over him and pulling him into a kiss. He whimpers softly and desperately kisses you back, leaning into your touch and when you pull away, he gives you a needy look. His face is flushed and hot, tears still streaming down his cheeks.
"I need to c-cum..please.." He whines quietly. He can barely think, your thick cock filling him and distracting him from everything else in the room.
You ignore him and start to thrust into him again, groaning at the way he clenches down on you. You grab his chin roughly, making him look you in the eyes as he moans.
"You should be embarrassed with how much of a slut you are, getting off on these people watching you. It's pathetic." You growl, your thrusts speeding up.
Kurt moans, his hips jerking forward. His eyes squeeze shut as he claws at the sheets. He pants heavily and grabs onto your arms, digging his nails into them.
"Pleasepleaseplease–" He whines.
You stop abruptly again and Kurt chokes out a sob.
"If you really want to cum, beg for it, and you better put as much effort into it as you put into whoring yourself out for your fans or you aren't cumming at all tonight." You demand of him.
"P-please," He wastes no time. "I'm– I'm sorry, I d-don't deserve your cock, but I'll be so– so good for you, I promise!"
You chuckle, amused. "Yeah?"
Kurt nods frantically.
"Who do you belong to?" You ask.
"You! I b-belong to you– I'm yours!"
You pin his hips down roughly and start to pound into him at a relentless pace. Kurt cries out, tightening his grip on your shoulders and clawing at them.
"F-fuck, 'm gonna– gonna cum!" Kurt chokes out between moans and gasps. He pleads desperately, sounding mostly incoherent. You start to stroke his cock again, and you lean down to kiss him.
"Go ahead, cum for me." You encourage. With your permission, Kurt finally cums, his eyes rolling back and screaming out your name. It's an almost unnatural amount, covering his stomach and your hand.
His ass clenching down on you pushes you over the edge as well, your thrusts becoming uncoordinated as you empty yourself deep inside of him. Kurt pants heavily, body shaking and cock still twitching weakly. As you come down from your high, you also breathe heavily, putting a hand over one of Kurt's hands which is still weakly holding onto your other arm.
You pull out as Kurt lays there, still trembling with his eyes closed. He opens them slightly as you say goodbye to the chat, ending the stream. You leave the room, quickly coming back with a glass of water.
Kurt smiles weakly when you sit next to him and stroke his hair gently.
"You okay?" You ask softly. He blinks up at you, not answering for a short moment before nodding.
"Yeah..yeah, I'm fine," He pauses shortly as you hand him the water. "Did they like it?"
You chuckle and nod, helping him sit up. "Mhm..You did so good, Kurt."
Kurt glances at you, the blush returning to his face while he looks away from you bashfully. He leans into you a gives you the water, and you set it aside before wrapping your arms around him.
Pressing a kiss to his forehead, you squeeze him tightly and he nuzzles into your chest, sighing contentedly.
