Part 6: Boy No More

The demonic cultivators stared at the Yiling Patriarch. The Yiling Patriarch stared at them back. Then he heaved a sigh.

"Fine. It is easy to mess this up. I'll tag the peonies after this meeting. Come to room 425 after six to pick them up."

Jiujiu had to hear about this! Him and Shushu and Rusong and everyone else are in grave danger!

I look around the room and spy the door not too far way. It is a bit risky, but if I'm quiet I'm sure I can sneak out the door without anyone seeing me. My heart was really pounding hard now, so a took a few deep breaths, just like Jiujiu taught me.

As quiet as a mouse, I creep over to the door. So far so good! But just as I reach out for the handle, I must have jostled my pet mice which caused them to squeak!

"What was that?" "Another mouse?"

And then terrifyingly "A BOY!"

Despite being across the room the demonic cultivators were FAST and caught me instantly. Up close I could smell the rotting eggs and meat so much it made me gag, which meant I was too distracted to stop them from placing a needle in my acupuncture point. Immediately I flopped like a rag doll, and they hauled me up in time for me to see a paper fly over and settle on my forehead.

NO I screamed in my head, because suddenly everyone turned much bigger, and the floor looked very far away.

I was now a mouse!

I screamed again and this time could hear it. This must have startled the demonic cultivator because he dropped me and I scampered away as fast as I can.

I have to get to Jiujiu! He knows about demonic cultivators so he’ll understand what happened. Even if he wasn't a proper cultivator, I know Jiujiu would recognize me whatever I look like and take care of everything.

Dodging countless shoes and even a chair, I lunged under the stage which I hoped would be too heavy for even cultivators to lift. Judging by all the bad words they shouted that seemed true enough for now. In the darkness, I look around and find an air vent.

Time to find out if the movies are right!
