and even then super mario 64 came out on inferior hardware and ended up being one of the greatest video games of all time, just for how much of an actual achievement it is. it still feels good to play after nearly 30 years, which isn't something i can say about any sonic games i've played, but as i've said, sonic and mario both have different priorities as video games. comparing any sonic game to mario 64 is just unfair.
