NEW MUSIC:
Just weeks prior to its scheduled release, Creeper has postponed their upcoming album Sex, Death and the Infinite Void from May 22nd to July 31st. The reason cited is that fan participation is currently restricted due to coronavirus.
Weezer dropped their second single from their upcoming album Van Weezer, titled “Hero.” The song marks the first new music from the band since “The End of the Game,” which dropped after the Hella Mega Tour was announced last year. 
Machine Gun Kelly debuted the first single from Tickets to My Downfall on The Late Late Show with James Corden. For the live-streamed performance of “Bloody Valentine,” Machine Gun Kelly also recruited Blink-182‘s Travis Barker.
Just after the aforementioned performance, Travis Barker gave Demi Lovato‘s new single “I Love Me” a remix. Released on streaming services, the “I Love Me (Emo Version)” took fans back to their scene days.
Fearless Records started their two-hour “Fearless at Home” event by announcing that rock band Not a Toy have joined the label. The group premiered their debut single and music video, “J Cash,” during the livestreamed stream.
Volumes teased a new song called “Pixelate,” which narrates society’s media consumption, as part of Fearless Records’ “Fearless at Home.” The band caught up with each other during the event to discuss their last time touring together.
Chunk! No, Captain Chunk!’s Bert Poncet revealed the band is working on new music in a message during Fearless Records‘ “Fearless at Home” livestream. He went on to say they are looking forward to getting together again to play shows.
Ice Nine Kills contributed a Friday the 13th parody cover of Fountains of Wayne‘s hit single “Stacy’s Mom” to “Fearless at Home.” The tribute lined up with Mother’s Day and the 40th anniversary of the first film.
In addition to launching a new radio show on Apple Music titled Me & Dad Radio, Billie Eilish revealed that she and her brother FINNEAS wrote a new song. The track captures how she has been feeling in light of the coronavirus.
TOUR ANNOUNCEMENTS:
In a statement posted on May 6th, Sad Summer Festival announced its postponement until summer 2021. In March, the festival released its first statement regarding coronavirus, stating that the tour was still scheduled until further notice.
Halsey announced on social media that all of her remaining U.S. Manic Tour dates have been rescheduled for summer 2021. Initially, the North American tour was scheduled to kick off on June 2nd in Seattle.
As It Is performed during the “Fearless at Home” livestream, playing two tracks from home.The band performed a socially distant version of “Soap” from their studios, as well as a stripped down version of “The Handwritten Letter.”
Grayscale performed two acoustic songs for Fearless Records’ “Fearless at Home” to raise money for Crew Nation. Singer Collin Walsh and guitarist Dallas Molster played a stripped-down version of “Just Right” and “Twilight (My Heaven).”
I Don’t Know How but They Found Me shared a minimalistic, reimagined version of their first single, “Modern Day Cain,” for Fearless Records’ livestream, “Fearless at Home.” The band is planning on releasing their debut full-length album.
Taylor Momsen, frontwoman of the Pretty Reckless, performed a cover of “(What’s So Funny ‘Bout) Peace, Love and Understanding” by Elvis Costello and the Attractions for “Fearless at Home.” She also offered some wisdom to fans.
OTHER NEWS:
Los Angeles venue the Troubadour announced they are financially struggling due to the coronavirus, having started a GoFundMe. The venue’s operators spoke to the Los Angeles Times stating they “can’t foresee being able to ride this out.”
Twenty One Pilots broke another record with their newest hit “Level of Concern,” which soared to No. 1 on Billboard’s Alternative Songs Chart. The song took four weeks to reach its top placement and is the fastest song to hit No. 1 in two years.
Vans announced a new offer for one lucky winner to win a lifetime supply of their shoes for both themselves and a frontline worker. The company is asking participants to send in evidence of a new creative project started during lockdowns.

Richard Wayne Penniman, better known as as Little Richard, passed away at age 87 this past Saturday at his home in Tennessee. His singles were essential to the history of rock ‘n’ roll, starting in 1956 with “Tutti Frutti.”
