{ ☆ } There isn’t much of a warning, other than a quick “Watch out!” being yelled a split-second before the poor boy is tackled. Not focused on how hard she was slamming into Bradley, too concerned about getting him out of the middle of the hallway, Melissa ends up overcompensating... and causing them both to crash into the lockers on the other side. It definitely wasn’t a flawless rescue, but at least it got him out of the way of the stampeding llamas racing down the hall. Getting trampled would have been much worse than the aches she assumes he is experiencing at the moment...

She is definitely feeling pretty sore... Groggily sitting on the floor, her aching back slumps against the lockers for support as she waits for the world to stop spinning. One hand pressed against her forehead to try and help with an oncoming headache, Melissa blinks a few times before glancing over at the person she had saved (more or less). With an awkward chuckle, she jokingly says, “Heh... I’ll give that rescue a solid three out of five. Don’t worry though, I’ll do way better next time. It’ll be at least a good four point five, with no slamming into hard objects...” Humor tends to help her friends when they are dealing with stressful situations, so she figures that maybe Bradley might appreciate a light laugh.
Of course, compassion always follows soon after...
Shakily standing up, she carefully extends a hand towards the boy to try and help him to his feet, “Are you feeling okay Bradley? Sorry about the sloppy rescue. I saw the herd heading straight towards you and... Well... Here we are.” With a smile, she adds in a genuinely relieved tone, “I’m glad you didn’t get trampled...” { ☆ }

“Hey, Milo! Check this out!” Melissa calls out to her friend, cell phone in hand as she quickly jogs over to catch up to the boy. She holds out the phone so that he can have a clear view of the screen as well, revealing a picture of a rather festive looking flyer. On it details the time and place of a large carnival being held in the town. What the carnival is for, Melissa isn’t exactly sure... Why it is being held in an area that already has a theme park relatively close by, she isn’t exactly sure of that either... But what she is sure of, is that they are going.
After all, why wouldn’t they?
Many would consider Murphy’s Law to be more than an adequate reason why they wouldn’t. Or rather, why they shouldn’t... Thankfully, Melissa is not one of those many people. There’s no reason why someone as great as Milo should miss out on a carnival, simply because there is a risk of... complete disaster. Whatever ends up happening, they’ll find a way to deal with it like they always do. Besides, before anything that can go wrong will go wrong, they’re bound to have gotten to have some fun.

“I bet that we can manage to try every kind of snack, and every single ride at this carnival. Of course, not necessarily in that order...” Melissa says with a playful grin, pocketing her phone and casually resting her hands on her hips. She’s experienced first hand the dangers of going on a ride after having feasted only a few moments prior. Never again... One eyebrow quirked quizzically, she continues, “What do you say? Wanna check out this unexpected but definitely not unwelcome carnival?”
