Ever wonder what blogging professionally is like? Here's my entire editing process for my 18+ blog Queer Earthling:

•Write the thing. Go over it a couple times. Send it to partner. Fix whatever they found. Put it away and don't touch until tomorrow.

•Open the thing. Edit a bunch. Remove a ton of semicolons and ellipses. Shorten some sentences. WHY ARE YOU SO LONG-WINDED? Put it away.

•Think about a funny thing you should put in there while you're in the shower. Frantically open it before you forget. Rework an entire paragraph around the joke. Put it away.

•Open it again. Do another thorough edit. Wonder how you're still so long-winded. Make sure it's exactly what you want. Put in links and make sure your affiliate links are correct. Plan where to include photos.

•Paste it into the blogging platform. Edit again because things look different in a different font. Put in those photos, do alt text for accessibility. Put in your content warnings and your ending stuff with your links and Patreon links. Mark your sponsored links in the HTML unless you forget.

•Post it. Feel a sense of relief. Do all of your social media links so people find your new blog post. Try to remember if you forgot any social media. You probably did.

•Open it again to look at your hard work. Read it in its entirety, trying to read it as though you were a new blog reader and not yourself.

•Find three typos.
