Somedays I wish I had more control over my adhd.
I don't want to get rid of it. No. I just want more control over it. I know there are "solutions" but sometimes it would be nice to just have a magic wand that lets me turn on and off the sparkle in my brain so that I can do my homework and then turn it back on so I can have my personality when I am with friends
#adhd#vent#i dont like to vent on here much anymore but i felt like it today#again yes i know medicine and therapy helps#and i have medicine and i used to do therapy#but at some point that can only help so much#and if i hear 1 more person say “get a binder” or “just do your work its not that hard” im going to scream#because adhd means I have an impulse control deficit due to a dopamine level deficit so i seak the thrill of impulse#to try and make up the lack of dopamine#and homework takes away the dopamine#so i just doing homework is more difficult than it should be#this is something i should remember when I am a teacher#so no student of mine feels that pain of homework when they have me

1st Person POV
Getting used to him is not that easy i thought it'll be. Most of the time I just lay on his chest and listen to him talk about how many years he lived, or posing to him to draw me. Don't get me wrong, it is not like it wasn't nice… is kinda good, but is boring. I miss my old life, my friends, my family, and the more time passes, the worse this longing becomes.
Days turned to weeks, and the walls were gradually filled with drawings he had made of me. Various drawings, from sketches to elaborate paintings in color or just in graphite, in several different poses. I can't look at myself in a mirror, thanks to him, but he makes me feel so good when I see the way he sees me.
Even then, I started to involuntarily show my boredom of being locked in a small room. Was a pretty room, but there's nothing to do in there, except for being with Gerard.
Sometimes he disappeared for hours and came back with gifts. Pretty clothes, necklaces, rings, shoes… It is weird how he always chose the right things. But, again, when he got out I spent hours doing nothing. Looking at the roof and waiting him to come back, or to allowed to get out of that fucking room.
Another normal day was about to end so, like every day, I was laid on his arms, in silence, until he broke it, with his voice almost whispering in my ear.
- Are you okay, baby? - He asked in a sweet tone - you’ve been so quiet these days.
- I'm fine… but honestly, I'm bored. - I sighed, speaking with all my sincerity - like, there's nothing to do here.
- I'm not enough for you?
I shivered when his words reached my ears, feeling the kindness leaving his voice.
- I didn't mean that… I just wanna… - I kinda whine - get out a bit, y'know?
I turned my head to face him, batting my eyes a couple of times.
- Sorry, princess… - he laughed, with an obvious tone of mockery, but still with a growing sense of stress - I can't let you go out.
- So you don't trust me?
My first mistake was trying to start an argument with him. So I received what I deserve, a dry, harsh cut coming from him.
- Not at all
- Why?!
My second mistake was almost yelling.
- 'Cause you didn't prove to me that you can be trusted!
Gerard shouted, squeezing my arm that he had previously been caressing. The pain wasn't much, but it was still bothersome enough to make me stressed and try to argue even more.
- But i-
- End of conversation! - He yelled, cutting me off. His eyes got dark. Huffing he continued - You're so annoying sometimes!
I rolled my eyes and the loud silence filled the room, again. He tried to alleviate the weight of the situation by caressing my body and holding me even more tight.
I understand why he doesn't trust me, and I didn't blame him for that, but he could be a bit more comprehensive, like... he keeps me here with nothing! Not even a television! I have the right to feel bored and want to get out.
The deadly silence lasted for several minutes, but was again cut short by the unexpected sound of his voice.
- I'm sorry…
I didn't respond. I think part of me would like to just say it was okay and let it go, but I still can't get over how much his mood swings are.
- I didn't mean to yell at you…
No matter how hard he tried to sound nice, I wouldn't respond. He noticed I was still uncomfortable with him, so he took a deep breath and kept trying.
- Look… - he sighed, looking defeated, but a sort of kindness emanated from his voice - Maybe we can go out to have dinner tomorrow…
I didn't expect him to actually agree to hang out, but apparently my silence left him hurt and a little desperate for my forgiveness. Anyway, I was really happy that he gave in.
- Really?!
I exclaimed, my expression changed completely from disappointment to joy.
- I'm gonna be with you, and you'll have to behave. - He warned, severely - But if you want to…
- Yes! - more than immediately I agreed, after all any agreement would be better than remaining locked up there - Please!
- Well, well… - a small smile appeared on his lips and with a hum of gratitude he concluded - so I think we have a date, darling.
- Thanks, Gee! - I turned in his arms, coming close to his face and kissing his cheek. He blushed again…he looks so cute when he blushes. Well, with all this talk, doubts began to arise in my mind. - But… as a vampire, can we eat normal things?
- Sure - It's strange how he manages to appear calm - We don't need to, but we can…
- What about garlic? Can we eat it?
- Yeah… - He chuckled, as if I were asking something obvious. - But take it easy on it.
Apparently, he had already changed one hundred percent from crazy to good boyfriend, so I decided to get a bit far.
- Can we… Still get high?
- Not as much as a human, but yes, we can. - he responded normally, but his curiosity came across a bit harshly - Why?
- Maybe I'm asking for too much… - I made my best puppy eyes, and using my cutest tone. - But… Can we go to a bar after dinner?
He raised one eyebrow, laughing a little, making it clear that I was almost over the edge, and that he was the one who commanded.
- I'll see about that.
I smiled at him, I hugged him a little and buried myself in his body. He kissed my forehead, giving me a little hope that we could actually have a proper date night.
*** time skip ***
finally the time has come for me to start getting ready, I put on that dress he gave me a few days ago. a necklace, which matches perfectly with the promise ring he gave me. I love the way he always chooses beautiful clothes, mainly because he is an artist and understands color palettes and cuts of clothes.
He was with me in the room, I was already used to him watching me change clothes, but his indiscreet looks still made me a little embarrassed. The good part about him being there is that I was able to ask him to close the zipper on the back of the dress.
After putting on the dress, I stared at him for a few moments, while he continued to button the black shirt over his pale chest. He started to fix his collar, and I walked towards him calmly.
- Gee… can you help me, please?
I swept my hair to the side, leaving my back free so he could zip it up.
- Sure, princess!
His hands, that he made a point of touching my skin passing them over the parts of my back where the dress did not cover, while closing it. As soon as the zipper reached the top, his arms wrapped around my waist, and his lips met my neck, kissing softly.
- So beautiful… - Gerard whispered in my ear and I let out a smile. He rocked me a bit, with his chin on my shoulder.
I hummed, almost moaning, and he let out a victorious grin.
- Darling, can you help me with my tie?
- Sure, babe. - seconds after I finished speaking, I realized the nickname I used, by accident.
- What did you say?
His surprise, mixed with a bit of mockery and pride, embarrassed me a little, but I knew that sooner or later this would end up happening, taking into account my feelings towards him.
I turned to fix the red tie he had already placed around his neck, and he got closer holding my hips.
- I said ‘sure’
I muttered, focusing only on the tie. When it was finally finished, Gerard holded my chin, making me face him. His hazel eyes glowed and his lips reached mine. These little moments with him make it seem like time outside simply doesn't pass, which is ironic because even if time passes, it doesn't make any difference to us.
- Liked the nickname, by the way… - still with our lips together, he smirked and continued - But I would prefer it if you used a stronger one…
I moved away from him a little, laughing.
- A stronger one? - I asked, playfully - Like what?
- I don't know… - He spoke as if he was seriously thinking about the answer, until his expression changed to a mischievous grin - “daddy”?
It was pretty obvious he was joking, so I followed suit and took it as a joke, laughing and moving away from him to get my bag.
- Never gonna happen.
He unlocked the door and held my hand with unnecessary strength. I was already holding his hand, but his insecurity was obvious when we walked through the bedroom door.
I had never seen the living room or any other room in the house, but they all followed the same gothic aesthetic, but unlike the bedroom, which remained clean, the other places in the house were dusty, with cobwebs and many pieces of furniture covered in white sheets.
We walked to the car, and the only information I could gather about it was that it was black. Gerard opened the car door so I could get in.
- Such a gentleman
- Nothing less to my princess.
He kissed my hand while I sat in the car seat. He closed the door and went to the part of the driver, placing his hand on my thigh, under the hem of my dress. I shivered at his touch.
During the journey, the radio played an almost inaudible sound, perhaps because the only thing that was going through my mind was his hand, slowly rising and rubbing his thumb along the inside of my thigh.
I didn't ask many questions about where we were going, so I alternated between looking out the window and looking at him, who was driving with only one hand, turning the steering wheel. Looking out the window was satisfying, after all it had been weeks since I had seen the outside of that captivity.
Well, in about forty minutes, he started to park the car in front of a restaurant, a fancy one. I'm definitely not used to this, nor was I waiting for him to open the car's door for me, like he did, taking my hand and, again, holding tighter than was necessary.
Gerard led me inside of the restaurant hall. We didn't have reservations, but there were several empty seats, considering the random day we chose to go. Arriving at the table, he pulled out the chair so I could sit down and then pushed it again, placing me in front of the table.
After we looked at the menu, a waiter quickly came to the table. While he was taking our orders, Gerard seemed very uncomfortable, perhaps with the friendliness I showed the waiter, but I think that was too much even for him.
- So… how does it feel to get out?
While we wait for the food to arrive, nothing is more normal than starting a conversation, but the topic of "getting out of captivity" was not exactly what I had in mind, but considering his good mood, I think the best thing to do is to join in and continue the conversation.
- It is great… - I sighed, thinking about how to continue... I guess the least I could do after all his chivalry was to compliment him. - Actually, being with you makes this even better.
His eyes widened, and a wide smile spread across his face. I smiled back, because I was being honest. Ever since I admitted to myself that I was in love with him, I don't see myself dating anyone else.
- Wow… - he chuckled - I wasn't expecting you to say that
- We're on a date, right? - I think I've never used this kind of tone with him… I was being sweet, truly sweet - So that means I wanted to be here with you.
- Make sense… - He stopped for a few seconds and analyzed my face. I admit that I was nervous, and I was already preparing myself for criticism. - you're so pretty
- So are you… - I let out my breath in relief, and since we're handing out compliments, I couldn't hold back. - you're actually the most beautiful man i've ever seen
Again the light red painted his cheek…
- You're exaggerating…
- I'm not! Really, I always find you kinda cute…
Another thing I kept to myself, in an effort to not let him think he could control me, but at this point, there's no way to do it but start admitting this kind of thing.
- So why did you get so mad when i… you know…
He looked around, careful not to say the word, but I couldn't let it slide. I raised my eyebrow, and did a cynical grin.
- Kidnapped me?
- If you want to call it this way…. - he sighed - But speak softer, please, darling.
- Sorry… - Giggling, I start to explain. - I got mad, cause if you just had asked me out, I would have definitely accepted without thinking twice.
- Well… - he said indifferently, thinking about how to continue the sentence without making it look bad for him. - I didn't know about that. Anyways, now is too late.
- Unfortunately…
Before we could keep talking, the waiter came with our food, I thanked him, and received a deathly look from Gerard. Dude… why?
The small talk during the dinner was nice, the food was delicious and the atmosphere of the environment was pleasant. As soon as we finished, he paid and we went back to the car. The same way, he opened the door for me and drove us. His hand was again laid on my leg.
Strangely enough, he didn't seem to be heading home. Even though I didn't know the exact way, the side we were going to was the opposite of the side we had arrived from.
- So… - he cleaned his throat - you asked me to take you to a bar… I'm gonna show you my favorite one.
- Serious?!
It was a shock. It was hard to believe that he had actually agreed to extend the date.
- Of course, princess.
-Thanks, babe!
I leaned over the passenger seat, stretching enough to reach his cheek with my lips, planting a kiss on him.
He froze for a moment, taking the situation in. Within moments, a small smile painted his face, still looking forward, driving. The way a simple nickname makes him let his guard down is really cute.
It wasn't long before we arrived at a small dead-end street. The streetlight apparently wasn't working, leaving the street very dark, and the only thing visible was the doorway to the bar Gerard was taking me to.
Getting out of the car, the same awkward situation of him grabbing my hand tightly. We crossed the front door and took a seat after passing some people who were sitting at the bartender's table. The last two benches were free, so we stayed there.
- Such a pretty place
- One of the reasons this is my favorite bar. - He explained - I've been coming here for years. Nothing changed in decades. Only the bartenders.
- Make sense
I laughed, and soon the bartender approached us.
- Hey, pretty lady… What's gonna be for you?
The compliment was enough to completely change Gerard’s expression. A bit embarrassed, I asked for my favorite drink, without showing the slightest sympathy, but not being rude.
- And for you, Sir?
He turned his attention to Gerard, who glared at him with anger.
-The same as MY girl.
His arms wrapped around my waist as the guy turned around and laughed loud enough that I could hear him.
- Who does he think he is to talk to you like that?!
- It's not a big deal…
- Because you liked it, didn't you?
- Gee… don't be like that, please.
He opened his mouth to continue speaking, but soon the guy arrived with the drinks.
- Here it is. For the most beautiful girl I've ever seen… - he placed the drink in front of me,and spoke, clearly far from being sober, turning to Gerard - and her possessive boyfriend.
-Thanks - I said, softly, but careful not to sound too friendly.
- Really?! - Gerard yelled, moving his hand to grab my arm, squeezing it. - You're gonna let him call you like that?
- Gee, please...
A bit of despair took hold of me, I even understood his jealousy this time, but the more attention he gives, the worse the situation becomes. In a failed attempt to calm him down, I placed my hand on his arm, but before, the nasty guy cut me off, making the situation worse.
- Baby… - He said, looking at me. - Why don't you leave this weirdo there and let's make out back there.
He pointed with his thumb behind the table and in a hurry Gerard pulled the guy's tie, almost hanging him. Pressing his tie against the table, glaring at the bartender with furious eyes.
- You better shut the fuck up, before I kill you… did you hear me?
He spoke with an intensity I had never heard him use, not even when I decided I was going to try to argue with him.
- Take it easy, dude
The bartender scoffed, not believing it. Gerard grabbed the glass that was almost full, and threw it on the floor next to the bartender.
- DID YOU FUCKING HEAR ME?
- S-sorry
Now, he was definitely scared.
- I'm sure you are. - grabbing my arm, he pulled me hard, making me stumble but not fall, as we walked out of the bar - And i'm not paying for that, by the way.
- I think you overreacted…
-You don't know a thing! You were enjoying all of this!
- I-
- Shut up, you fucking cunt! - He slapped my face, and my eyes filled with tears… the more I feel good about him, the worse I feel when he acts this way - You wanted to come here so you could flirt with guys there! Why the hell did I believe that you could behave?!
Still holding my arm, he threw away all the delicacy he used to use with me and slammed the car door.
- I don't even need to tell you that you won't be leaving that fucking room for a long time, right?
He started driving, obviously going over the speed limit. I held on to the bench a little.
- It wasn't my fucking fault! - I couldn't stay quiet, there's no way he's blaming me. - What am I supposed to do? Punch him?
- Don't you dare talk to me like that! - He stormed, hitting the steering wheel - Not when you were all cute with that guy!
- I wasn't doing anything!
He remained silent, ignoring me. I was about to continue, but he stepped forward.
- Wait till we got home, princess - what he said could be interpreted as a sweet phrase, but the threatening tone he used was not at all romantic. - I'm gonna make sure that you know who really owns you.
Not wanting to make my situation worse, I remained silent, not daring to look at him the whole way home.
Arriving at his house, he practically threw me into the room, and I wouldn't doubt that he was about to kick me, but he gave up when I remained standing, instead of falling on the floor.
- What are you waiting for, baby? - he spoke calmly, but his aggression was obvious - Undress yourself, NOW!
- Is that really necessary?
I asked, with visible fear.
- I don't know - he growled, showing his lack of patience - you want me to tie you up and do it by myself?!
I shook my head and started to take my shoes off, and then my dress, my underwear and my necklace.
- Good girl… - a satisfaction grim grow on his face - now, turn away.
He took off his tie, and blindfolded me with that. I won't lie, while I was scared of what he would be capable of doing, every move he made made me even more wetter.
His mouth pressed against my shoulder, sucking hard and making sure to leave bruise-like marks. I shivered as his hands went around my waist, squeezing tightly.
I hummed when he buried his face on my neck, licking it up. His mouth reached my earlobe, biting, while his hands went even up in my torso, catching my breast. I moaned.
- Fucking slut - He whispered in my ear. - I'm gonna split you up.
I felt his hands move away from my breasts, going down to my waist again, and his hot breath was no longer on my neck. Soon I felt him push me forward, aggressively. After a few steps, my legs touched the bed.
- Get on the bed, whore. - He demanded
I tried to turn so that my back was on the mattress, on top of the velvet sheet that covered it.
-Besides being a slut, you're also dumb? - Before I could finish turning around, he grabbed me, preventing me from making any movement. His harsh voice made me freeze, but his next sentence made me swallow hard. - I want you all fours for me.
I did so, getting into the position he told me to. Embarrassment took over me, but it was soon replaced by the fear I felt when I heard the sound of his belt being opened.
- You're gonna have what you really deserve… - As soon as he spoke, I felt the snap and the tearing sound of the leather hitting my ass squarely. I screamed in pain - See… that's the treatment whores like you get.
He caressed my back, I thought it was enough, but soon I felt the feeling hit me again, and again, and again. The more he hit me, the more I screamed, and soon the tie covering my eyes tie was stained with tears.
- Aw… Don't cry, darling… - I would give anything for him to call me that with the passion he had used hours ago, not with this mocking tone. - The night will be long… for you.
I jumped a little when his hand brushed my hair out of my face, and kissed my cheek.
- Tell me, princess, who do you belong to? - he spoke gently, but not kindly l
- Y-you - I murmured.
- Exactly. - Suddenly, he knocked me to the side, turning me now to face him - You're MY whore.
He took the blindfold off my eyes and I could see the hunger in his eyes. Hovering on top of me and grabbing my throat, he showed his fangs with a presunction smile.
- I'm gonna put you in your fucking place. - he roared, lunging at my neck again. - Tell me again who owns you.
-Y-you.. - I felt his pressure gripping my throat, and almost out of breath I responded - You own me.
- You learn fast. - he let me go, but continued talking with his face in my neck - But there's more I have to teach you.
Without warning, he inserted four fingers inside of me, curling them to reach my g-spot.
- So needy…
I moaned loudly, as he giggled, knowing that he can make me transition between pain and pleasure in seconds.
He pumped in and out, and I started to feel myself getting closer and closer. Breathless, I tried to tell him.
- Gee… i'm gonna cu-
- Not yet, cunt. - He growled, taking his hand out of me and moving it to his jeans, unbuttoning them. Then he pulled down his boxers and took his dick out.
He held my wrists together in the top of my head while he abused my cunt. My pleasure mixed with the pain I still felt in my ass took over me. I tried my best to hold back my orgasm, with great difficulty I managed to hold myself, hearing him grunt and groan.
After a few seconds, I moaned, feeling him use my pussy as a cum-dump. I started to panic as I couldn't hold it anymore.
- P-please… - I said, and he chuckled.
- Cum for me. - He ordered, and I did what he said.
The pleasure washed me over, and he let go off my wrists, laying down by my side breathless. I closed my eyes, trying to restore my energy, and he leaned back against the bed rail.
Gerard tapped his leg, calling me to his lap, so I went, feeling like a fucking pet of his. Not diminishing my embarrassment, I sat on his lap, and he stroked the top of my head.
- All mine… - He kissed my cheek and rested his head on my shoulder. - Am I right?
I started the night completely in love with him, seeing him as the boyfriend I would like to have, but every time he acts like this I distance myself more and more from him.
- Yeah… - I said, with a bitter taste in my mouth and a fake smile - All yours.

Harvard Diaries: Chapter 1. Frankie (Scat Story)
I was a great student my entire life. I had all A’s in high school, graduated valedictorian and at the top of my class, which lead me and 2 other classmates of mine to get into ivy league schools. Marissa got into Princeton, Robert got into Yale, and I got into Harvard. I spent hours grueling and grueling into assignments, until I was able to pass my requirement classes and get into the teaching education program, and here I am now. The perfect student. All A's, perfect attendance, and about to enter my masters program to finally become a Psychology professor.
Until recently, I had what I would say the perfect life, that is until I discovered my most recent secret, something no one can ever know except myself. It all started when I was awake one Friday night, working on a 10 page paper while everyone around me was out partying or celebrating the semesters begin. I was in my pajamas on my bed, typing and typing away, when I noticed a faint ache in my lower stomach. I decided to stop my homework quickly and check if the shared dorm bathroom was available. I went and checked, only to see a line of 16 people using overflowing toilet water as some sort of weird slip in slide (really disgusting) and slowly went back into my dorm and locked the door. God, I always thought the people here were disgusting, like children.
As I was working, the stomach ache began to worsen, and I began to think about all of the things I ate today. "Ugh.. I need to focus on this paper.. maybe if I relax and listen to some music for a few minutes, I can then decide to work on some things later.." I thought as I put my headphones and covered myself under the blankets a bit more. I then felt a strong twinge in my lower stomach, and began to feel a bit gassy. "Ugh... what did I eat?" I thought as I began to slowly lift my leg up to the side. I then released a low rumbling fart, which subsided some of my pain for a little while. Although that fart helped somewhat, that didn’t stop my stomach from continuously quaking in discomfort. 1 fart turned into 2, then 3, then 4, until I was farting ever 30 seconds. However, to be completely frank, I loved the feeling of it happened, with the squeezing and the tilt ur eyes make as your about to release, and the feeling of relief your lower stomach gets as it rumbles out is phenomenal. I lift my right leg once again as a 15 second rumbling fart is released. “Oooh yeah, that was a big one.” I said as my eyes fluttered in relaxation, slowly beginning to distract me.
The truth is, I’ve always had a weird enjoyment of farting and pooping ever since I was little. I remember my friends in high school being gross and farting around me in sleepovers, and I would pretend to be grossed out, but days later I would be replaying the moment in my head while physically melting just thinking about it happening, or imagining them going too far and pooping their pants, and being mesmerized by the thought of that over, and over again. I always thought I was just a weird kid though. “Ooh, I have to fart again—!” I said as I pushed. This fart was much wetter then the last, bringing a larger amount of relief, but indicating a teaser to follow. “I really hope the bathroom is fixed at this point, these farts are getting worse.” I thought, but as I continued to hear the yelling and splashing coming from other students outside, I knew the bathroom wouldn’t be available anytime soon.
I started to think about a moment where my best friend at the time, Caleb, would always have stomach aches after school and would be embarrassed to pass gas all the time, but I would reassure him that he was safe to fart around me, and I would never make fun of him. At a certain point, he felt comfortable enough to eventually let go and be open about his gas around me. I specifically remember him pushing wetter and bubblier farts around me when he felt safe to do so… and his face..as he relaxed..seeing how good it felt for him to just..do it…
At this point, I was already soft serving in my pants to the point of no return, but I was too focused on daydreaming to even realize what was happening. I was relieving myself as I thought of Caleb, completely entranced in this memory to even realize I was doing so. A few minutes later when I finally finished and began getting out of my daydream, I had realized what I just did. “What the fuck, did I just shit myself?!” I said In disgust and embarrassment. I took off my pants and tied them in a garbage bag before heading straight to the showers, ashamed. I scrubbed my skin so hard as if I was scrubbing off sins, completely disgusted myself. “I will never, do something disgusting like that again!!” I thought to myself angrily. Little did I know, this was the beginning of discovery that will change my life forever.

Hey there, can I make a request for genshin impact?
So, a friend of mine slowly started to neglecting our friendship because they have someone who they're very close with and developed feelings for them. That's why we rarely talk anymore and every time I try to reach them, they say something like "oh sorry, I don't have time, I'm meeting (random name) soon". So it's pretty painful to watch this gap between us growing more and more and sadly, I can do nothing about it.
So my request would be, can you write this scenario but with the sumeru boys (tighnari, cyno, alhaitham, kaveh) noticing reader's situation and trying to comfort them? Something like "don't worry, I'm here for you and never going to leave you". I really need some comfort because this makes me so sad..
If you have a character limit, could you at least write for cyno and/or tighnari please? ;_;
Reader can be gender neutral but personally I prefer f!reader.
I hope this is okay for you and thank you ;_;
A/N: Hii there and thank you for the request. I'm so sorry that happened to you, it must have felt terrible. If you, or anyone else reading this post wanted to talk to someone, you can add me to friends on Genshin (it ain't much, but still is sth) . There will be a second part to this story.
My UID: 720520373
---------------------------------------------------
TW: panic attack, bitchy friend
Slight spoilers in Alhaitham story!
Second person, f!reader
Characters: Alhaitam, Cyno

Prequel
It was a sunny afternoon on a Thursday. Y/n just finished her lectures for the day and happily walked towards the main building of Akademiya, glad that school was over. The sun shone through the window illuminating the stony floor. Being a student of Rtawahist definetely wasn't easy, and even if Y/n didn't have any homework assigned for tommorow, she would still have to work a bit on some projects. But that could be done later, now was time for her tradition - a girls' afternoon with her best friend, Aisha. Y/n waited for her to finish her lectures, because she was from Haravatat and it always took her longer to get to the main hall. It's true that Aisha was busy a week ago, and two, but this time it'd be different... right?
Not so long after a tall girl with almond shade skin and black hair styled in a simple updo walked into the main hall, looking around as if she was searching for someone. It was Aisha, Y/n walked over to her with a bright smile appearing on her face but the closer she got, the more she saw that her best friend's smile started disappearing
- Hii Aisha
- Hi, do you know where F/n is? They also go to Rtawahist, and we're having a girls' night
- But.. those on Thursdays were our tradition
- Oh, um yea... Maybe we could do that next week.. or sometime
Aisha quickly walked away, but Y/n just stood there in shock. In this very moment her last bits of hope disappeared. Her mind was a mess, tons of different emotions and words she wanted to say this moment overlapping in a chaotic way. Her eyes burning like they were on fire even though tears started appearing in their corners, and her lips quivering unable to let out a proper sentence. All Y/n wanted to do was run away from this place, so she did. She sprinted out of the main hall before anyone noticed. Or so she thought
Alhaitham 📖
Y/N sat on a cold tile, under the bridge in the small library leading to the House of Daena. She tried to muffle any sounds coming out of her, so no one notices her, by covering her mouth with her hand. Tears falling out of her eyes were falling to the ground, and making a *plask* sound when they hit the tiles, but no student seemed to notice. They were hurrying to get back home, or to go to the library.
Y/n wanted to scream out of anger, but her voice got stuck, not allowing her to even say anything. Her throat hurt, like it was on fire but it looked like there wasn't any good solution to solving that. Focused on trying to make her voice work again, she didn't hear footsteps behind her.
- Y/n, why on earth are you sitting on the floor here
She looked up and saw a certain gray haired tall male, who also was your boyfriend. Y/n tried to reply, but only some rough shrieks came out of your mouth. He sighed and said:
- Get up, we're going to my office
Y/n silently followed the new Acting Grand Sage. When both of you got there he told you to sit on his old chair, back from when he was a Scribe, and went off somewhere. Not so long after he reappeared, putting a mug with a liquid inside along with a bowl of fruit. Y/n must have looked confused because he said:
- Zatyun Peach tea, will help with sore throat and a bowl of fruit. Eat, I'll continue with my work but you can talk if you want
Y/n took a sip, and then words started spilling out of her. And he listened, to every single one. When she finished, he looked her in the eyes and did something he rarely does, as he isn't really fond of making affectionate gestures - he put his hand on her cheek and stroked it with his thumb saying:
- You're enough
Y/n couldn't help it, out of shock and his sudden words tears started to reappear in her eyes. Alhaitham, considering the best option after a while moved closer gently trapping you in a light embrace.
Few hours later, as the sun started to fall behind the horizon, Y/n was comfortably sitting on her boyfriend's lap, reading a book while he filled out the papers laying on his bed. The room was filled in silence, except for her slight humming (which normally would annoy tf out of Haitham but it's you, he'll suffer through), yet no one wanted to change it.
It was perfect the way it was, just the two of you.
Cyno ⚖️
Usually Y/n took her sweet time walking the way to her home, talking with the vendors and adoring the newly planted Paradisah. But today was not like any other day, she sprinted towards the only place she considered a safe space right now. Tears were building in her eyes, slightly blurring her vision, but Y/n didn't wanna have a public meltdown so she focused on running.
Then Y/n's heaven on earth appeared: a small house with white walls, green roof, wooden framings and entrance door. She quickly searched for the keys, and found them in her back pocket. She inserted them into the key lock, as the heart locket keychain swished in the air from sudden movement.
When Y/n entered the four walls, closing the door behind her, she slided to the floor gripping her head. The tears stopped, along with the sadness but something else appeared. Her lungs felt like they were wrapped in barbed wire so taking even a tiny breath hurt like hell, her hands were shaking and could not be trusted with even the tiniest tasks as helping Y/n get up from the floor. Even if it was a space she knew well, it suddenly felt big. She felt like a mosquito: small, annoying and not important. Y/n crawled over to a grey couch and took off a blanket thrown over it, which then she covered yourself with. Y/n took another shaky breath and closed your eyes.
- Y/n... Y/n, wake up!
She slowly opened her eyelids, but upon the sudden attack on her vision by the sun shining right in her face, she closed them again scrunching her face in uncomfortability. Then Y/n felt a warm hand covering her eyes. She asked the owner of the hand over her eyes - her boyfriend Cyno:
- Did I forget to lock the doors? How did you get in?
He left out a chuckle and she could hear his soft voice saying:
- You gave me the keys a month ago, I let myself into your house after I saw you running out of the Akademiya in panic
When he saw her lips starting to quiver again he added:
- Take deep breaths Y/n, slowly
He rubbed Y/n's back as she complied to his request: a deep breath in, hold for 3 seconds, and then out. And it helped, a bit but still something. When he saw her slightly calm down he moved onto the couch, beckoning for her to do the same. When Y/n joined him, comfortably leaning into him, he asked:
- Who? Do I want me to serve them justice?
She shook her head, then nuzzling it into his neck. Y/n could feel his body getting hotter out of embarrassment, cute that even after half a year he still got affected by such small displays of affection.
- Just hold me - she answered
He pulled Y/n closer, his arm wrapped around her waist, his head on hers. Then, with a bright smile on his face (which she sadly couldn't see, bc her face was still in the crook of his neck) he asked
- Do you wanna hear some jokes?
Y/n simply hummed in approval, and she heard his breathing as gears in his brain worked trying to come up with some good ones
- Singing in the shower is fun until you get soap in your mouth... Then it's a soap opera
Y/n lightly chuckled as he told her more and more of his jokes. Some were funny, some were not, but it's the thought that counts.
Soon the sun was down, and you still were sitting entangled one into another.
Simply his presence was enough.

PRINCE TIME LETS GOOOO >:D
“Miss? Sorry, but you dropped this.”
Prince turned around at the familiar voice, already on guard by being talked to so late at night.
She was met with a tall, broad shouldered teenager dressed in a Japanese highschooler uniform. Prince recognized it from other boys she’d seen using the train, but none of them walked through the tunnels at this time. And she’d never seen this one before.
He looked nice enough, his smile looking like it occupied his face often seeing how he was already getting creases at the sides of his eyes. His hair was cut short in a way boys with straight hair cut it, but his seemed to curl out at the tips, giving him a different look than others.
“Thank you?” Prince held her hand out, assuming she’d dropped a piece of paper. She held back a gasp as the boy placed the dropped item in her palm.
It was the same hair tie from the bullet train. It was even still streaked with blood. Prince felt her heart drop.
Surely she was foolish to think that all of her problems would get dropped like how she’d dropped her past life. Trying to keep herself from shaking, she looked back up with a sweet smile.
“I’m sorry, but this isn’t mine. Do I know you?”
The boy nodded. He pocketed the hair tie and exchanged it for a taser he’d been concealing in his back pant’s pocket. Prince took a step back.
“You do. You might not remember, but you do. I’m Wataru Kimura.”
‘Shit.’
Wataru lunged at Prince, who tried to block his attack but was admittedly rusty from years of a monotonous life. He easily got her pinned to the wall. She heard the sound of the taser clicking on.
Selfishly, she wanted to scream at him that she had learned her lesson. Couldn’t he see that she was different? Hair allowed to keep its regular curls, skin scarred over from surgeries, clothing layered with black to keep anyone from looking at her.
She felt the pain streak through her veins as Wataru set the taser in her neck, her muscles forcibly tensed as electricity sparked. Without even feeling it, Prince became aware that she was now collapsed on the station floor.
Spots of black began filling her vision. Wataru hauled her up, putting her arm around his shoulder and keeping her standing with his hand firmly at her side. The taser was buried in her coat, effectively hidden unless someone was looking closely. She attempted to scratch at his face but was stopped with another, shorter shock to her ribcage.
Footsteps reverberated through the station. Prince tried to look up but could only catch a blurred glimpse of a train employee making his way towards them. She felt Wataru press the taser against her, a silent threat.
“Sir? Is she alright?” Prince attempted to speak but could only cough in reply. Her throat constricted to the point she couldn’t speak. Her swaying legs forced her to lean on Wataru, her head rolling like it was on a swivel.
“Ah! Yes, she’s alright! Just a little drunk. Hime-san is my step mom!” Wataru answered with a smile. He sounded so damn innocent.
“My father knows she can drink pretty heavily so he wanted me to find her. It took awhile, but I did!”
The employee seemed to take note of Wataru’s uniform.
“You’re a student? When did school end? Why are you still in your uniform?” He asked suspiciously.
Wataru scuffed the floor with the heel of his foot, looking embarrassed.
“I didn’t have time to change. I haven’t even done my homework yet. I was just worried about looking for Hime-san…”
The look Wataru gave the employee must’ve been gut wrenching, because immediately the man backpedaled and apologized. He excused himself and wished Wataru well, even offering to drive him back home seeing how the next train was going to be awhile.
“I’m sorry Oji-san, but I couldn’t burden you like that. Thank you for offering though! Have a good night!”
Wataru used his free hand to wave goodnight as the man walked off. He waited a few seconds before restarting their trek. Prince squirmed as the tiles under her feet changed to concerete and they left the station.
Prince tried to make it so her face was visible to the security cameras which she had noticed on previous visits. But to her dismay she saw they were already taped over.
‘How long has he been planning this? When did he even have time to do this? Why hadn’t I noticed him before?’
Her thoughts were stopped with the taser at her throat, getting held down for what felt like hours. She felt like throwing up, like screaming, like doing anything before she passed out, unsure if she’d ever wake up.
“Goodnight Hime-san.” Wataru’s voice said in a sing-song way. “I doubt you’ll hold on until the morning.”
Her vision went black.

Little Miss Popular Part two
The school day passed by fairly quickly, with only a few snide comments from Jason. It would be a lie if I said I wasn't slightly dreading the Hellfire meeting tonight. If I was being completely honest I didn't know the first thing about dnd, I had a bunch of homework, and I was not up to pretending to care about whatever it was they talk about during the meetings. I only said yes because Eddie looked so happy and I didn't want to disappoint him. Regardless, I had told him I would be there so I needed to be.
I walked towards my locker to cram my english textbook in my bag. As I opened my locker I heard laughter coming from down the hall, when I peaked over my shoulder I saw Jason and his friends surrounding my brother and his friends. That's when I heard the yelling.
"Hey dweeb, where's your freak show leader" Jason laughed, I was so over all the snide comments and full blown torment that the boys had to go through.
"Hey Carver" I shouted, walking in front of Dustin and Mike "why don't you pick on someone your own size."
"Stay out of this sweetheart, we wouldn't want you to ruin that pretty face of yours" Jason said condescendingly. Next thing I knew my fist was colliding with his nose.
"You're insane!" Jason screamed, holding his nose to try to stop the bleeding.
"Leave Eddie and Dustin alone!"
"Y/n, Jason, my office now!" The principal called over the PA system.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Do you have any idea what kind of trouble you're in, Ms. Henderson."
"Pretty much" I mumbled, holding my throbbing hand. Of course, all Jason got was a slap on the wrist for bullying Dustin then was sent on his way.
"I cannot have my students punching each other in the middle of the hallway," He peered at me over his glasses "you have a 3 day suspension and detention when you return."
"Can I go now?" I sighed, grabbing my bag when he motioned towards the door. When I got out of the office I saw Eddie sitting against the wall, doing god-knows-what.
"Eddie, what are you doing here?" I asked surprised
"I heard what you did for me and Dustin," Eddie smiled, standing up and wrapping me in a hug "you didn't have to do that ya know."
"Please, it was time for someone to him in his place." I laughed quietly, my heart racing with each second we were together. "It was pretty cool though, even if it feels like my hand is gonna fall off."
"Come on, I'll take you back to my place and we can ice your hand" he chuckled grabbing both our bags and walking towards the exit.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I hissed in pain as Eddie placed the old bag of peas on my hand.
"'m sorry" he mumbled, sitting next to me on the old couch. I smiled slightly at his sweetness. I had never seen this soft, caring side of Eddie before, it made me feel warm inside. I leaned my head on his shoulder and wished i could stay in this moment forever.
"y/n," Eddie spoke hesitantly, I lifted my head up, curious as to what would make his so nervous, "I-I um, Jesus, I like you y/n. Like really like you, I have for a while now actually, god this is really hard." he laughed. That was all I needed before pressing our lips together. Eddie hesitated before kissing back, our lips moved in sync, almost as if they were made to fit together.
It felt like time stopped as we pulled away, gasping for air. I just couldn't stop thinking about how he felt the same, finally after all these years he finally loved me too.
"I take it you feel the same." Eddie laughed, smiling like he won a million dollars. He leaned forward and pressed our lips together again.
He's mine. Eddie freaking Munson is finally mine.

This Life
2019-2024 Did you ever find yourself trapped in a loop? Perhaps in ways you don't expect. Dan did. She never realized that she was trapped in a loop of love, pain, abandonment and loneliness.
Grade 6:
Was it real friends? I see everyday and find ways to make sure we have something to talk about so they dont find me boring. I fought a lot with others, I liked a boy who always asked me for help and advice when it comes to two things: His homework, and the girls he's pursuing. I got influenced into many things, got into trouble many times. Was I an introvert? A shy girl? I called myself a loser, a geek, whatever (Hah I was a theater kid if you get my reference.) Being that I am, I got exposed online-- in a bad way. I learned things I shouldn't be learning, and I was talking to people online where I shouldn't have been at that age. There was someone I met online, he understood my musical references and without thinking I joked that I've found my "soulmate". Boy was I stupid. While crushing on a classmate, I kept up my chats with this online friend. Oh it was getting bad... Chat me up, all day, all night. It was fun, I was being sneaky. Oh calls and video calls, voice message and more. Then he starts asking for pictures... Pictures Pictures Pictures. Ah so wrong what have I done? Not just that but a friend of mine was a very bad influence, I am not so sure what he was-- A friend? An enemy? I can't tell. I should have stopped myself, but oh how I liked the attention? May 14, 2019
It was class crush's birthday, it's summer and I just woke up. Oh no- mom drags me out my bed, shoves my phone to my face. The fear plastered on my face! She slaps my cheek, throws the phone to the window (I'm shocked it didn't break!) Ah bad bad bad time, she found out about Online boy. It was for the best. We didn't even love each other lol, he just asked for pictures and I...was a desperate child who wanted attention.
New Life: Mom took me out of that school, removed all my socials, and cut me out of society.
Grade 7: Starting my highschool life in homeschool
Ah it was fine, I had my own schedule. I was doing fine, I became a better student. I'm okay with this life... I have no teachers and classmates though, it was just me and the professors in the pre-recorded videos. My desk and my laptop and...Google (ahaha). Oh my, I'm lonely... But oh hey, I learned about Quotev, Ao3, and Wattpad...! Oh no. Here we go? I read, and read and read and read and read and read! This is my life now... I started hoarding books~ With that, I got into role play--(we all go through this dont act like im a weirdo) And I fell in love...with writing. I started working on an idea that based on a What If question I had at one of the sleepovers I had with my cousin (She made me watch animes and we role played together and wrote different short stories)
2020-2021
Grade 8-Grade 9: No friends like Fiction, Am I right?
I forgot how to be human, oh if you all could see... Long hair, glasses, dark clothes, nose stuck in a book, no sleep at all-- From the morning I studied and studied, at night I read til bed. Did I enjoy it? Yes. But at the present now, it is only a feeling. I don't recall what I read, I don't even remember what my brain rots were about! I continued my story ideas, brainstorming with my cousin actively (Oh which reminds me. Since I had no phone nor any socials, I chatted her through emails, hangouts, skype and pinterest--Ikr those were desperate times if I had no phone...) So yeah, we continued that story...Thats one year of working on it and it seemed pretty good. Life was okay like this...
Okay not really, so I mentioned I was into role play and that I would chat my cousin on pinterest. I was finally trusted to have a phone again but no socials still. But since I had pinterest...That meant I found someone to role play with me in that app... Goodness i'm stupid! So sneaky once again, a little bit of role play getting a little twisted and wrong in so many ways. Ah here's the shocker, I was talking to a GIRL! Oh this was the start... Of so many more problems. My mom found out about this one and once again, no phone (wahhh TT) But it was only for about what two? three...no four? I think six months yes. So how did I message my cousin? Well this was the time of the pandemic and jobs were hard to find... My dad took up a delivery job! So I wrote letters to her and had it sent weekly--It was creative and fun to do so. We traded books and wrote updates on our lives. I miss her. Back to topic, I can NOT be trusted with a phone haha. But I was anyway... and oh... no no, Homeschool was fun and all but I'm always alone. My family realized that and forced me to join christmas parties, camps and clubs and gathering... Nothing amusing for me I meet people, I laugh, they think I made a friend...I never speak to them again. Funny right? Anyway I joined an art club from my school which was online, that and a Writers Guild. The art community is in a group chat so guess what... My phone was given back to me, there I met a friend (Lets call him J) He requests collaborations with me and I was always happy to help a fellow artist. Oh yes don't worry, J is a good fellow and is still a very present and active friend to me right now. But there was a time that J invited me to join his discord server (ah yes my cousin introduced me to Discord) So I did join J's server full of other homeschool artists, it seems that it was a DnD role play group and he wanted us artists to play some roles! Oh sure of course, I agreed. I met his friend. (Lets call him Cat) Cat and I did not get along, oh no we started off quite weirdly. But oddly enough that feisty banters we have lead to something... Aha you see where I'm going? Yes Stupid once again was I! We knew each other for what...A year? after that stuff happened and...we got together and lasted...three months.
May 2, 2022
Ah it was a Sunday I'll never forget. I had a meeting with J and Cat online, J had some concerns he wanted to address. Ah...He felt like we shouldn't be together because he fears of the worst outcome for his friends... I didn't listen to him... I didn't...when I should have!!! I was supposed to continue the meeting but then my mom took my phone! (ARGH for the best but I hated it when it was so random and snoopy) She found out about me and Cat... aha again? Okay, again. But it gets worse. Oh it was a fight, she took my phone again and I stayed crying in my room until lunch time. She refused to see me, okay so in a whirl of emotions what did I do...? I was dumb so so dumb. I put on my slippers, grabbed the nearest bag and left. I ran away. (Worst case scenario, this is during Covid. I was in my pajamas, and I was wearing nothing but my bra inside my sweater. Oh and the bag I took? It had no money, nothing inside except... My old Harry Potter figurines! I had my smart watch on but it was dying!) So yes, I ran away. I walked and walked thinking, where should I go? So I walked headed towards a tower from my view, okay I'm almost there, I took an overpass and got lost. Hmmm, I planned to take a bus, oh but I have no money... Two men approached me. Oh shit. Oh they're trying to help me because Idfk where I'm going! They're asking for my destination, I say where, and one of them took their helmet, gave it to me, and gave me a ride on his motorbike. (First time to ride one by the way) I got to where I was headed, he asked me why am I headed there? I need a lie! I said I was going to meet my dad there. So he left me at the place of which I asked. As he left, I planned to cross the road, my next destination? Well my old house (Not exactly but the subdivision there, maybe I can stay at the park?) Oh but I was inexperienced, I was going to cross a main road! Right as I was about to cross a bunch of guards called out to me, told me what I'm doing would get me killed if I took another step. They lead me to an underpass. So I took that. I crossed the underpass and headed towards the place I wanted to go. Still so many problems... It was hot, I was wearing a sweater (again I can't remove it bcs I wasn't wearing a shirt under) and I didn't eat lunch, didn't have any water, and have been wandering aimlessly throughout. I was close now about....another 6-7 kilometers or so... I was stupid to think I'd reach it without passing out. I staggered as I walked, I hit a tree and a long branch fell on my head. I used it as a cane I guess. Then another man showed up, called out to me, I ignored him. He tried to give me money, I felt guilty so I refused. He tried to let me let him help me. (Wow tongue twister-I could word that better) Eventually I realized this man is a grab driver... Okay I took his offer to drive me, he offered to buy me lunch and so I ate a Mcdonalds meal. At first he asked me where I was headed. Panicked and not wanting him to know I said the address of my old school from 6th grade, which was nearby. He took me there and then asked me again. Where am I really supposed to go? Ah shoot he caught me, So I gave in. I told him to take me to a subdivision (my old place), He asked me, Why? I said I'm looking for my dad. And he told me he thought I was a foreigner, and asked for my name, and If I could understand him. Oh he fed my cover, so sure I said I was from another country, I said I was looking for my dad, and that when he asked for my name I panicked again inside my head, I saw a bike pass by with a plate number with the letters "XIAN" and so I told him my name was Xian. He took me to the subdivision, and left me at the park... Ah but he wouldn't leave me alone! He followed me even as I got out the car... goodness! He parked and came out again, he asked if I was okay, and in desperation I was walking in circles around my cousin's house (we were neighbors). So I asked him if I could borrow his phone, and he did, I messaged Cat, said my explanation and my situation, said my goodbyes and asked for one last favor.

hiii waffle babyyy how are you?
omg mine is like RIGHT around the corner like any day now….already got the period knee pain going on.
classes have been good!! there was a project that I was low key stressing about a few weeks ago and it looks like I did well on it. finished the class with a B which is great. In my other class this is funny because I think i inadvertently became one of my teachers favorite students? like he talks to me directly during lectures and during demos he lets me help. strange turn of events but I flex it because it’s a 95% male class and I’m just a girl with pink safety glasses and a txt sweater.
OHHH tyun is so a soft dom sugar daddy….takes care of everything for you. seriously. pays for your classes at uni, puts gas in your car all of the time, and sets up a perfect desk set up to do your homework. he lets you do your thing and show your independence, however, the moment that you show weakness or doubts just know that he’s stepping in immediately. reminds you so much that he’s always there for you and rewards you with gifts when you do well in university. just an excuse to buy you more things!!

Thursday Night Thoughts
Nobody prepares you for your life to fall apart. One minute you’re moving into college, making all these friends, and the next you’re sitting in a doctor’s office being told you might never be able to swim again. Your family asks you how you’re doing, and you say “It’s great! I love everything about it!” but you don’t tell them that you had to withdraw from your English class because you were failing. You think that maybe being a student-athlete might work until the surgery that will end your pain will end your career.
You go to physical therapy twice a week. You do your exercises and get frustrated with your physical therapists every time they make you stop because you’re in pain. You want to cry and say that you can do more, that this is nothing, anything to speed up the recovery process. Losing your friends, your teammates, and your family seems like the end of the world. One minute you’re making goals, everything seems to be looking up, and the next you’re crying in the athletic trainer’s office relaying the orthopedist’s bad news. You don’t even care if you’ll be good again or not, you just want to swim. You just want to not have to modify lifts again. You just want to be okay again, in manageable conditions without paying money to feel that way.
Feeling like you’re letting a coach down is one of the worst feelings. They didn’t sign on for this. Bringing in a recruit, a new commit, and an ecstatic freshman should be great. There shouldn’t be problems. They shouldn’t be getting day-to-day updates from the athletic trainer on the plan for practice that day.
But hey, at least you’re doing good in your classes, right? Wrong. Having so much on my plate with classes, homework, practices, physical therapy, and doctor’s appointments, I could go on and on and on. It’s not easy. Do you have the grades to show for it? B’s, yeah. The withdrawal from English is certainly screwing you up. But you’re the oldest child—the one that always seems fine, so how are you supposed to reach out about these issues? You’re one of the only non-bio majors in your class, how can you compare to their workload?
But it’s worth it. It’s worth it to have your nightly roommate movie and tv show nights. It’s worth it to be friends with everyone in the athletic trainer's office. It’s worth it to finally see your work pay off in the classroom and the gym. It’s worth it to have your teammates care for and check in on you when you’re not doing okay. It’s worth it to say you made it through hell and got out on the other side a little scraped but otherwise fine. You made it. You’ll make it. It’ll be hard, but you’ll make it.
Your world might crumble in a matter of minutes. Mine did. It might have been minutes at a time, spread over weeks and weeks and weeks. The straw that broke the camel’s back was an orthopedist’s appointment. Getting told that I might never swim again and that he felt the surgery that could potentially change my life wouldn’t be worth it was horrendous. It felt like I was being lied to—or on a prank show. That the surgery that could fix my shoulder might make it worse. I cried on the way down in the elevator because I was so tired. So tired of more and more shit being thrown at me over the years, and this could be the worst of it all. So, I break down in the trainer’s office. I let them tell me everything’s going to be okay, that we need to make some decisions, and that they’ve got me to take all the time I need. I cry again in my coach’s office, telling them again what just happened.
I still go to physical therapy twice a week. I still break down in the locker room after kicking with my silly little kickboard for an hour. I still feel isolated. I’m still benched indefinitely while we work on my shoulder strength. I can’t tell you everything’s going to be okay yet, because I’m still fighting.

“Damn.” She looked at the clock on her computer. It was almost 8. She was so busy doing homework that she had no time to eat. She sighed and put her head down on her desk, groaning. “What a pain in the ass.” She saved her writing as a draft and threw on a jacket and grabbed her keys, opening her door. “Son of a bitch, just my luck. Thanks, Zeus.” She grabbed an umbrella and looked at the rain pouring down in the streetlamp. Sure, it was beautiful as an art form, but not when you were in desperate need of dinner. She crawled in her car, and adjusted her rear view mirror, finding a couple walking together in the rain. They were pressed against each other and laughing about something. She could only dream to have something like that at this point. At the moment, she was an overworked college student who lost track of time and forgot to eat. She sighed, and started up her car, the windshield wipers moving the rain that was being shone on by her porch light. Tonight was going to be a long night.
“Can I just get a meatball sub? Thanks.” The sound of customers and plates clanking was muffled in her ears as her mind was in a completely different realm. She needed inspiration. Something. Anything. She kept deleting her paper for class. It just wasn't working. Nothing she was writing felt right. There were some amazing writers out there, but none of her writing felt… good enough. She sighed and took a sip of her hot cocoa, looking out the darkened window, seeing people walk by holding hands with their children or their lovers, all overcast by their own umbrellas. It was beautiful, but it wasn't enough. Suddenly, she was pulled from her own mind when a man sat across from her in her booth. “Can I help you?” She tilted her head slightly and grabbed her butter knife just in case. “My name is Rohan Kishibe. You look sad, are you alright?” “I'm sorry? First of all, like the Rohan Kishibe? Like the manga artist.” “Are you a fan?” “A huge fan!” He signed a napkin and handed it to her. “And second, Mr. Kishibe, I'm not sad.” “You sure look sad.” “Well, I'm not-” “Then what are you?” He fluttered open a sketchbook and looked back at her. “I'm sorry?” “What are you?” “Your meatball sub, ma’am.” The waiter sat it across from her and Rohan raised his hand slightly, pen in between his fingers. “I'll get some fruit water, and then I can get to work.” “Yes sir, I'll be back with that momentarily.” The waiter hurried off and her eyes went dark looking at the manga artist. “That’s not going on my bill.” “I understand. We’ll split then. 50/50.” “Woah, I was just asking for you to pay for your fruit water, not a quarter of my damn meal!” “I don't mind. Anyway, as I was saying, how do you feel?” She put her face in her hand and looked back at the manga artist. “Uninspired I guess. I have a paper due soon, but haven't had any inspiration to do it. I want it to be really good, but I don't know.” “Thank you.” Rohan nodded at the waiter and then looked back at her. “Uninspired, you say?” She nodded and took a bite of her food. “I just want… something. You know?” “Oh believe me, I know. Question: do you mind if I draw you?” “Y-You want to draw me?” “I'll draw you twice. One that you can keep, and one for me.” “I-I don't mind at all!” He began sketching as she continued talking, and before they knew it, it had been over an hour and a half of just the two of them talking. “Here you go. And here’s the money for the drink. I quite like you.” She smiled and looked over the drawing with a red face. “Thank you, Rohan. This means a lot.” “And since I'm here,” he slipped over a piece of paper with his number on it. “Call me sometime. I like hearing your voice.” He walked out of that restaurant and suddenly, she had the inspiration to finish her paper in one night.

Obsession - Vil Schoenheit x Reader
I’ve been dragging my feet a bit on this one, but I really do love the concept. It would just be so easy for him. Anyway, this has a mix of yandere I think and I guess what could be misconstrued as a backwards hanahaki kind of thing...It’ll make sense when you read it.
Premise: Vil can take no for an answer, at least for now.
Words: 2,086
Trigger warning: blood, choking, pain, yandere, toxic relationship
Music Inspiration: Baby One More Time (Cover) by Annapatsu
~~~~~
How I ended up in this situation, I will never understand.
Feet beat against the stone floor as the world flies by. Lungs blaze with pain, panic overwhelming my thoughts. With each exhale, the agony spikes. The walls in my chest tighten, causing the squirming that instigates the stabbing. It’s a vicious cycle that cannibalizes itself, bringing tears to my eyes as heavy liquid bubbles in each breath.
I have to find him. I need him.
I can’t live without him.
~~~~~
Sunlight seeps between the leaves, dappling my shade with warmth that makes it the perfect spot to catch up on homework. At the moment, I’m on my own, Ace and Duece doing club activities and Grim off wandering like a cat does. There are still students passing by, filling the air with white noise, but it’s the film research club not far from me that provide most of it.
From where I sit, I have the perfect view of the scene which is quiet well done.
But what else could be expected with Vil Schoenhiet in the director’s seat.
As if he knew I was watching, the young celebrity glances over. When we make eye contact, he flashes me a dazzling smile. Nobody can deny that Vil is gorgeous, but many may not have seen his softer side. I’ve caught glimpses of it on a few occasions. I can barely begin to recount the number of times the Pomfiore housewarden has saved my hide. Between teaching me and Grim how to use magic and tutoring me through homework, I owe the young man quite a bit. He also has a tendency to fix up my uniform or appearance should something be out of place. I can’t say we’re best friends, but surely we’re comfortable enough to have a friendly conversation and joke around.
I hear my name. My gaze starts at the thirteen centimeters heals before climbing to those amethyst eyes. I’d spaced out; rehearsal is over.
“Oh, hey Vil.”
He takes my outreached hand to help me up.
“Enjoy the performance?” he asks.
“Oh, yeah. I can’t say I paid attention to all of it, but what I saw was really good.” His smile flickers. “I can’t wait to see the whole thing when it’s done.”
His voice remains even. “Well I hope I can put on a show that takes your breath away.”
“You always do,” I say brightly.
Vil’s mouth opens to say something, but he hesitates. I’ve never seen that before. He’s always so confident in his every move that I was sure he had the answer to everything. Whatever’s on his mind must be incredibly imposing for him to second guess himself.
And if I can, I want to be of help. “What’s wrong?”
What miniscule anxiety plaguing him vanishes with smile that off balances my heart. “Do you even know how beautiful you are?”
That’s not what I expected. Fire surges into my ears. “Wh-What?!”
His laugh feels like tendrils sneaking around my heart and yet it’s the most genuine I’ve ever seen on him. “Of course you don’t. Perhaps that’s what makes you refreshing. No, that’s not quite right.” Eyes drink in my visage with the hunger of a man starving. “Intoxicating—that’s a better term for you.”
“Um…Thank you?” I murmur.
My body freezes up when he reaches forward. A hand takes mine with pure reverence. Those coils snap tight in my chest as his lips ghost my fingers, lingering, before his gaze finds mine once again.
This is a problem.
“I would be honored to take you on a date.”
Oh, this is a very big problem.
Anxiety bubbles inside, wavering in my voice. “O-Oh uh…I’m sorry but I’m not interested in dating right now.”
His face blanks as if I’d spoken gibberish. I can see the gears behind his eyes working, struggling to understand my decline. Granted, I can’t imagine Vil’s had many rejections in his life, let alone from someone he was interested in.
“Is there someone else?” That voice holds even, but denial belies it.
“N-No. I just—”
He doesn’t accept that. “Is it something I said? Is it my work schedule? Surely it’s something I can work on.”
“No. Vil.” I hold up my hands before he can fire off another question. “Look, seriously, it’s nothing against you. In fact, I’m beyond flattered you asked. But I’m not from this world and I’m still trying to adjust. Between bumbling my way through magic classes without magic, learning an entirely new history, floundering through various magical scandals, and reining in my new dormmate-slash-partner, I’m just not ready to be in a relationship right now. I’m sorry.”
“Oh. I see.” And yet that desire never falters. “I…apologize for my behavior.”
Frantic hands wave before me. I just want this to end and I’m sure he does too. “No, that’s okay. Like I said, I’m flattered. But I hope we can still be friends?”
To anyone on the outside, Vil’s smile is perfect and not at all out of the ordinary. To me, it’s a red flag. “Of course. Please excuse me; I need to help the film club clean up.”
So Vil leaves and the awful, awkward situation ends. Still, something in the back of my mind whispers warnings. I do my best to ignore them though. Surely this ordeal is done and dusted—an embarrassment we’d both prefer to let die. So that’s what I strive for. In our following interactions, I do my best to pretend nothing happened, though as a professional actor, Vil does better than I do. At least we seem to be on the same page. He even proves there are no hard feelings by treating me to lunch the next day with the best frozen yogurt I’ve ever had for dessert.
A few days after, however, I begin to feel a little strange. There’s a feeling of squirming in my chest. Initially I brush it off as a lack of sleep or water or something, but when I start to struggle breathing, I consider that maybe I’m sick and take a long weekend from classes.
It doesn’t get better. No, it gets much worse.
Constricted lung capacity only continues to wither, as if something heavy is infesting my rib cage. I can’t even climb a single flight of stairs without winding myself. What aching I had initially chalked up to coughing now sears like being stabbed from the inside. When another fit ends with blood in the sink, I finally admit that I need to see the school nurse.
Though it’s the weekend, there should still be staff at the infirmary. Just as I pull open the front door, however, I’m met with a visitor.
“Vil?” I rasp with a ragged throat.
Immediately his brows rise in pity. “Oh you poor thing. You look miserable.”
I nod, preferring not to aggravate the pain.
A hand attempts to coax me back inside. “Come. Let me take care of you.”
Breaking free, I shake my head. “No, I don’t want you to catch it.”
“Don’t worry about me. You should lie down and rest.” Again, Vil attempts to redirect me back into my dorm.
“No. St—”
The writhing in my chest instigates another bought of choking.
“Are you okay? I can—”
Holding my hand up, I fight against the spasm in my chest that pricks tears in my eyes.
“I’m okay.” Purely, a lie. “I’m gonna go see the nurse, but you should go before you get sick too.”
“Hold on. Just let me—"
Another cough sneaks up on me. I do my best to back away from the young man, but his grip takes my jacket. Wracked with pain and suffocating, I’m unable to resist his pull. Then, without warning, Vil’s fingers snag my chin, forcing my face to his. Velvet-soft lips descend upon mine, hungry, greedy.
Instinctively, my fists snag his jacket to shove him off, but I notice it. Whatever squirms in my chest settles and recedes. I can breathe clear again.
The kiss breaks with a soft click, my breath quaking. Prying my eyes open, I’m met with the horrific, utter delight in Vil’s eyes.
“I was beginning to think it wouldn’t work.”
The blood drains from my face, blurring my vision and tempering my hearing. I can’t bring my voice louder than a whisper. “What did you do?”
He smiles as if he’s entirely innocent. “I simply added a little incentive to choose me when you’re ready to start dating.”
Appalled barely begins to describe how I feel. “How could you? I thought you cared about me.”
That gets a frighting rise out of him. “Don’t you see? I care so much I had to do this.” As Vil closes the gap, I back into the wall behind me. He truly believes every word he says. “No one will take care of you like I can. No one is better for you than I am.”
“Y-You’re insane!” I slip around him, heading for the door. “I have to find a teacher or the headmage or—”
The unbothered reply is unnerving. “And tell them what?”
I freeze. I have a retort; it’s clear. I would tell everyone what Vil did. I don’t care if it would ruin his image or reputation or whatever. This is sheer delusion and it’s putting me in danger.
But not a sound leaves my mouth.
It wasn’t just one curse.
His caress is so soft. “Don’t fret, my gem.” A tremor racks my spine as he pushes his fingers through my hair. “I just needed some peace of mind. I promise this pain will go away—”
The smile that pulls at his lips is riddled with obsession.
“—when you’re ready to return my love.”
~~~~~
The doorknob rattles violently without budging. Fists pound against the door, fear beginning to consume me—I don’t even know if he’s inside. Filled with torment and terror, I fall to my knees. Thoughts begin to race with the possibility that this might be how I die.
The click sounds of tainted mercy. Gentle fingers tilt my gaze. Lavender eyes glimmer with adoration. A smile of pure love graces his lips. Vil is absolutely elated.
It makes my skin crawl.
“I was beginning to worry you wouldn’t come.” There’s nothing in his voice but tenderness. “It took you much longer to seek me out this time.” He’s not even upset; he knew this would be the outcome.
Another bout of coughing stabs my lungs with thorns, the pain so agonizing that I nearly pass out. Into my hand sprays crimson, but among the blood, something flutters past my lips. Ivory petals are stained by ruby droplets: a symptom I haven’t come across before.
Vil, however, sounds pleased. “Why am I not surprised that something so pure would come from you even as you hurt so. Though I must admit—” A decisive thumb smears blood along my lips. Desire spreads across his face. “—that color looks breathtaking on you.”
A hand reaches out, clenching at his jacket. I can’t speak past the thorns, so I beg him wordlessly.
“Of course. Let me take away the pain.” His lips draw closer, but I have no strength left to take them. “Let me indulge you.”
His kiss tastes of the cruelest salvation. He speaks and acts as my savior, but only because I’m here for his transgressionhis obsession. This is the “love” I’m trapped in.
Piercing thorns recede, the vines crawling back down my throat to free up my airway. A gasping cough breaks the kiss, spilling more blood across the carpet. Though there’s relief, the weakness washes over me and I collapse.
“Oh sweetheart. Look at you, exhausted after fighting for so long.”
Everything in me wants to writhe beneath his touch, but I can’t even lift a finger. With ease, I’m lifted from the floor, carried deeper into the villain’s den.
“Don’t you worry, my darling. Just rest.”
This is my life now: to be at Vil’s mercy while suffering this parasitic foliage in my lungs. I can only guess at how long he’ll put up with my resistance before letting me succumb to my curse. Until then, I can only struggle on, resisting the pain until it becomes too much to bear.
Because this curse will only end when I love him.
But could I ever love him?
“You’re in my care now.”
Mean Rindou x f!reader
-Rindou Haitani was always so mean
Warnings: Cussing, Violence, Mean Rindou, sexual touching, Pet names, toxic dynamics, bullying
I always did hear about how mean Rindou Haitani was. Ever since they took over Roppangi, but I knew even before that he was mean. In middle school I peaked in halls watching him beat poor kids up, and his older brother standing right behind him smiling proud. I didn’t get to experience it first hand until the start of highschool.
I never understood why he did it. The first two years it wasn’t that much. The occasional means words and shoving. His stare in the back of my head. Making me go get him things but it was so small, at least it seems small compared to now.
Now he seems to be more physical and demanding. It seemed like no one wanted to be around me and when they were the next day they were gone in an instant. I never knew what I had done to make Rindou Haitani hate me.
Before the bullying I wasn’t always the best student and after it became worse. So usually after school I stayed later in the class or library studying and doing work. Hoping today was one of the days that the Haitani’s would leave early. Unfortunately for you, your luck has run out for the week.
You stayed quietly alone in the classroom. Every so often a person passing by. An hour in you felt more at ease because by now Rin would be here. I began to pack my things to relocate to the library. As I’m waking to the library I feel a tug on me. I don’t even have to turn around to know who it is.
“Where the hell have you been?!” He looked down at my with his glasses slightly down and light panting. He was in an obvious rush.
“I was here in the classroom. I needed a little help.” I tried to mumble the last sentence, knowing he’d tease me for it. But Rindou Haitani never missed anything I said. “Awww, stupid little girl can’t do her homework, yeah?” He bent down a bit trying to look me in the eyes. I looked up a bit to see his lop-sided smirk. I didn’t feel very hurt at this comment. He’s said way harsher for me to care about this one. I simply felt annoyed.
I tried to turn back around towards the library but it seemed like today he had other plans. Grabbing hmmmm harder and turning me around once more. “Nuh uh, I’ve heard heard some things about you this week let’s go.” I felt my stomach drop at that. Heard some things? What has he heard. Even before him I’ve always kept to myself. So what could he have possibly heard.
Dragging me outside towards the lunch area he pulls me in between the buildings. Pushing me against the hard wall. He put both arms on it caging me in. I shuffle my feet around a bit and play with my fingers.
“Now, I’m only gonna ask once. What did you do?” He titled his head eyes looking at me. I look down moving my feet. I don’t even know what I did. I hadn’t done anything!
“I really don’t know Haitani. Truly I’m not even lying!” I tell him with a whiny voice. Sounding like a child pleading for anyone to believe them. Except unlike a child, I wasn’t lying.
Yet he stared down at me with glaring eyes. He right hand came up to the back of my neck. He hand stayed there for second before shoving me toward. Our chest connected, I was pressed up on him.
“I thought we talked about lying. It’s not a very nice thing to do, yeah?” As his warm breath spoke into my ear it was only then that I felt tears prickle into my eyes. I remember when I used to fight back. Try to push and shove but to no avail. So now I felt just as fearful and helpless.
“Haitani-”
“ugh, you can’t even get my name right. I know you’re not that much of a dumb bitch to forget my name.” I gulped down my fears speaking in a calm voice. “I really don’t know!” I felt my voice cracked as I yelled that.
In fear I retrace my whole day. Every step I took every word I spoke. I tried my hardest to remember it all. I don’t know what he’d do. Would he make me get on my knees and beg for forgiveness? Would he pour water all over me and make me walk home with dripping wet clothes? Or would he pull my hair back and scream profanities into my face. Either way, I knew I’d hate it.
He sighed obnoxiously. Pulling my arms forward he stared in disgust, “What are these.” I looked down with confused eyes. “Bruises…?” He nodded, “Yes baby, and now where did you get these?” I suddenly knew what he was so mad about.
As I said, Rindou Haitani has been targeting me for a while. Weather it be tripping me in the halls or embarrassing me in front of my classmates he was always doing something. But I guess they didn’t realize that it wasn’t an invitation for them to bully me.
Some classmates have been bullying me for the past month now and it’s less aggravating than Rindou but still painful. Still, I don’t know why Rindou would care about it. It’s not like he’s any better.
“Some classmates have been messing with me, it’s not anything that bad I guess…” He started to caress the marks on my arm. Why did he seem so upset?
“Hmm, I see.” I watched him for a second as he just stared down at my arms, “I’ll fucking kill them,” he gripped harder onto my arms, “Pieces of shit think they can touch things that doesn’t belong to them. Imbeciles will wish they were never alive when I’m done with them.” He held onto my arm tighter as he said each word with venom.
“You’re hurting me Haitani, stop!” I try shaking him off as I say it but stop at his next actions
“Shut up.”
His lips were immediately on mine. I didn’t even notice it at first. My eyes widen in surprise as he stared at me with intent. He pressed down harder and closer onto my body as he moved more into the kiss.
“Shut up and say my name.”
He said between his rough kisses. I couldn’t even say anything with his lips pressing against mine. His tongue darting out to my teeth. The freshness of his breath is something I can already taste and the smell of freshly washed hair blew into my face as his hair drooped down. I felt a soft hand come onto my cheek. And a arm around my waist. A way Rindou had never held me before today.
“Please, say it.”
“….Rindou…”
He seemed pleased. Very pleased by this action. His tongue darting down my throat while his hand started to caress my cheek. He started to swipe at the stray tears running down my hot face.
“Only for me. You’re only allowed to look like this for me. Only allowed to be this vulnerable for me pretty girl.” I shook my head, “No, I’m not yours Rindou.” He chuckled with endearing eyes still wiping my eyes. “Yet like a dumb little bunny your still here. It’s not like I’d let someone like you ever leave me though.” Both hands went down to my waist massaging the skin.
“You’re so dumb you know? I’ve been acting like this for years, and you still don’t understand how I feel. No one can do what I do to you. You’re mine.” He bumped noses with me making me look at him. My eyes were still teary and my cheeks were red hot. I sniffled softly as I stared at him. He groaned
“God, don’t look at me like that.” He held my waist tighter, “I can’t stand your stupid fucking face pretty girl.” I felt a little more tears fall down my face at his words.
I never understood why he did this. Why couldn’t he be nice if he liked me. Why did he kiss me if he didn’t like me. How does he feel? The answers didn’t really matter. All I knew was, Rindou Haitani was just so mean.
Gojo Satoru x Reader
!!Warning!! This is self-indulgent fic. Sort of teacher x student relationships. Age gap. Implied suggestive theme. Character death. Fluff. If you are not comfortable, please don’t read this. As a caution, Minor please don’t interact.
[Name] 5 years old
Gojo Satoru 16 years old
Geto Suguru 15 years old
Ieiri Shoko 16 years old
"Satoru." My head poked into the class from the opened sliding door.
"Ah! My cute [Name]-chan!" Satoru grinned as he quickly picked me up. He rubs his cheek to mine, causing me to giggle.
"Satoru, your glasses hurt." I complained.
"Don't worry. Pain, pain, flies away." He smooched my cheek.
"Satoru. Let her down." Suguru sighed at his antics.
"Nope. You are just jealous that [Name]-chan likes me more than you." Satoru planted me on his lap, while still hugging my small frame.
"Konbanwa, Suguru." I smiled.
"Konbanwa, [Name]-chan. How are you today?" Suguru smiled.
"Today, our teacher gave us homework." I excitedly started telling them my day.
"What kind of homework?" Suguru asked.
"Making a flower. I am going to make a lot." I spread my hand to express how many I would make. "I will give you one later, okay?"
"That's very kind of you. I will look forward to it."
"Nooo~. [Name]-chan. You won't give me a flower?" Satoru put his head on top of mine, whining.
"Silly Satoru. Of course I will give you one." I giggled.
"Promise?" He stuck out his pinkie.
"Promise." I warped my pinkie to his. ~"~
Suguru sighs while looking at his partner's antics. This little girl is the only one he showed affection openly. Usually he will tease, flirt or taunt the opposite gender. But, that's it. He never showed any interest in them. But, this little girl has him wrapped around her fingers.
'...Does that mean…' "Satoru…" The high school first grader called his friend.
"What?" Satoru replied but his thumb was still engaged in chicken fight with the little girl.
"...You won't lay your hand on her, right?"
"..." It took a while for his friend to process what he was asking. "The hell you are thinking." He made a disgusted face. He is fond of this girl and showers with affection. But he regards her as a precious little sister. Well, that might change in due time.
"As long as you know. That's fine." Suguru sighed in relief. ~"~
"What are you talking about?" I blinked up at the older teens.
"Nothing to worry about. So, what kind of flower are you going to give me?" Satoru asked.
"Secret. You will know when the time comes." I put a finger on my mouth, making a shushing motion.
"Eeehhh~. I want to know now." Satoru whined.
"Bad Satoru." I puffed my cheeks.
"Aw. I am sorry. Don't get mad. Or I will… give you a tickle." His hand has already started tickling me.
"Ahahaha...hahaha...Sa...Sato...ru...st...stopp...hahahha."
"I will stop if you forgive me."
"Hahaha….o...okay…" I nodded.
The tickling ceased instantly. "You are not playing fair." I huffed.
"Ahahaha. Don't get mad. Here. A lollipop." He shoved the candy stick to my mouth.
"!!!" My tongue swirled around the candy. "Melon flavor." I blinked. "Ah!" My eyes shot towards the clock which showed 3 o'clock. I wriggle out from Satoru's lap.
"[Name]-chan. Where are you going?"
"I promised Yae-chan to play together." I smiled. "I am going then. Bye bye Satoru, Suguru."
"Bye bye, [Name]-chan." Satoru waved.
"See you tomorrow." Suguru smiled.
Today, Yae-chan and I are going to play tag in a park. Some of our classmates from the Sakura class are also here.
"[Name]-chan!" Yae-chan waved her hand.
"Yae-chan!" I smiled back as I waved to her.
Fun times always fly past quickly. It's 5 o'clock now. Time for us children to go home.
Few days later, Mikan-chan, Hinako-chan, and Sera-chan invite Yae-chan and I to another game of tag. Of course we agreed.
So, after school, I told Ijichi-san I am going to play tag with friends, so I won't be visiting Satoru.
"Mikan-chan, where are we going to play today? The park?" Yae-chan asked curiously.
"Hehe. Nope. We will play in a big house today." Mikan-chan said proudly.
"Big house?" The rest of us blinked.
"Yes. We are almost there." Mikan-chan said. After a twist and turn, we finally arrived at a big house Mikan-chan said.
"...Mikan-chan, are you sure you want to play tag here…?" I looked at the obviously ominous house.
"Of course. It will be so fun here." Mikan-chan talked as she was oblivious of the strange scent the house omitted.
"Hmph. Are you scared?" Hinako-chan jeered.
I frown at her. "I am not. But, Satoru said don't go near the house like this. It's dangerous." I said.
"Satoru? Ah. That neighbour onii-chan." Yae-chan said.
"Hmph. Nothing is dangerous, you stupid. There is no ghost. You are just afraid." Hinako-chan sneered.
"I am not afraid." I puffed my cheeks.
"Yes, you are. And that neighbour of yours is probably lying to you." She added.
"Satoru is not a liar!" I yelled. "Satoru never lies to me!" I told her.
"Adults are always lying. My mother said so." Hinako-chan retorted.
"Satoru is not a liar. I will prove to you that ghosts exist." I was miffed, completely forgetting the warning I had received.
"Fine." Hinako-chan stuck her chest out. Thus, the game of tag is quickly forgotten. Right now, they are going to prove the existence of ghosts. ~"~
Yae quickly runs to [Name]'s house. All she can think about is how to get to her house quickly. Fortunately, the house isn't that far. But, to a little kid this is already exhausting all her strength.
Yae panted as she arrived at Sakuya's house. She sees [Name]'s mother talking to 2 men.
"[Name]-chan's Mama!" Yae yelled, catching their attention.
Hisaki Reika, Suguru and Satoru shift their attention to Yae. The crying little girl collapses to her knees, fortunately being caught by Satoru. "Otto."
"Yae-chan?! What's wrong?" She asked the child, worry and concern evident in her tone and face.
"[Name]-chan… danger…" Yae hiccuped.
"Where are they?" Satoru asked, it's a rare case where he actually talked seriously.
"Yae-chan. Calm down and take a deep breath. Slowly… inhale… exhale…." She instructed.
Satoru shifts his hold on Yae, so Yae is being propped by his arm. Yae follows Reika's instructions, so she starts calming down.
"In what direction?" Satoru asked again.
"Satoru, don't scare her. Let her catch her breath." Suguru admonished, he knew his partner was anxious.
"Yae-chan, please tell me what you know." Reika smiled.
"...They are in an abandoned house near the park we usually play." Yae hiccuped.
"Got it." He transferred Yae to Reika and quickly teleported.
"Satoru-" He left before Suguru could say something. "Yare yare. Yae-chan. Please tell me the whole story." He smiled kindly.
Yae starts telling them their story. "Mi-Mikan-chan said she found a big house to play tag near the park. Then…[Name]-chan said this house is dangerous, she said her neighbour onii-chan said so. Hinako-chan said that onii-chan is lying. [Name]-chan said onii-chan won't lie to her….They fight with each other before [Name]-chan said she will prove to Hinako-chan that ghosts exist." Yae recounted. "...sorry...I should have stopped them." Fresh tears started flowing again.
"Oh no. Yae-chan this is not your fault. Don't worry. [Name]-chan and the others will be fine. That strong onii-chan will rescue them." She assured the little girl.
"R...really?" The little girl hiccuped.
"Yes, of course." She smiled reassuringly at the little girl.
"Then, Hisaki-san, I'll be on my way too." Suguru nodded at her.
"Okay. Be careful. I will go there after I take Yae-chan home." Reika nodded back.~"~
"Hic…"
"Sssshhhh…" I tried to shush Hinako's cry. "Don't cry or she will find us." I whispered to the other them.
The exploration starts normally. We argue as we open each door on the first floor. Of course there's nothing. And this fact made Hinako-chan more unbridled. She keeps saying Satoru is a liar. Of course, I am angry too. Satoru is not a liar.
But the deeper we go the more I smell the foul stench. On the 3rd floor. There's this one room with a particular strong vile stench. "The spirit must be here." I mumbled.
"Hmph. I am sure there's nothing inside." Hinako-chan said. Mio-chan and Mikan-chan seem to agree.
"Nee...let's just go. This room feels creepy." Yae-chan said.
"You are just afraid. As I thought, your neighbour is a liar." Hinako-chan harrumphed.
"Satoru is not a liar. I will prove it to you." I huffed. I also feel this room is creepy and definitely dangerous. But she says Satoru is a liar. I can't forgive her. So, I mustered up the courage to push open the door. The old door creaks open. We are unaware of the curse residing inside.~"~
"Are you ready?" The eerie voice echoed in the building. Hinako-chan and the others clamped her mouth tighter, afraid their cries would leak out. But a small whimper still leaks out from her mouth.
My heart is beating so fast I can even hear it. The voice and footsteps echo louder. I bit my lips thinking what should no, what can I do against that monster.
"Satoru, can you teach me how to exorcise cursed spirits?" I blinked up to the older male.
"[Name]-chan. You need curse energy to exorcise one." Satoru smiled cockily.
"So, I can't?" My mouth turned upside down.
"Well… there's one that you might can do." He drawled.
"Really?! Tell me?!" Excitement bubbled up.
"It's like this." He grinned as he taught me.~"~
"Found you."
"Kyaaaaa!!!!"
I quickly throw the nearest object I found within my reach which has no effect on it.
"Rin pyo toh sha kai jin retsu zai zen" I made a kuji-kiri. The lines I made in the air sort of materialized as light and attacked the curse.
"Let's run!" I yelled. The others and I quickly ran towards the door. Once we are out, I close the door. We still can hear clearly the curse's wail.
"I want to go home." Hinako cried.
"Let's go." I grabbed their hands and started running again. "You guys stay here and don't make a sound." I told them and closed the door. "Rin pyo toh sha kai jin retsu zai zen." I threw another kuji-kiri to focus its attention on me. I quickly ran as I was chased. I didn't run for long before I cornered.
"Are you...ready? Found you…" The grotesque curse stamped toward me.
'Scary...I...am...scared…' "...help...HELP ME! SATORU!" I yelled as I closed my eyes.
A loud crash was heard and a smell of wisteria enveloped me. "Sa...to..ru…" My opened eyes took a glimpse of white hair and sparkling blue eyes.
"[Name]-chan. Close your eyes and ears, okay? And don't move until I say so." He smiled sweetly.
"Eh? Okay." I nodded and obediently did as I was told. I can't hear or see anything except the vile smell that started to dissipate. Again, I was enveloped in a nice wisteria smell.
"You can open your eyes now." He said gently.
"Satoru…?" I blinked.
"Yep. The Gojo Satoru is here. You can rest easy." He winked.
"Where is everyone?" I gasped in realization.
"Don't worry. I found them before I found you. Right now they are outside the building with Suguru...maybe.... They are safe now. So are you." He stroke my head.
"Re...really?"
"Of course. I will never lie to you." He grinned.
"Hic...hic...Uwaaaaa!" I wailed. The tears are flowing nonstop. "Scary… I am scared…" I clung to Satoru as if he was my only lifeline.
"I am here now… no one can hurt you…" He cooed.
I cried for a good while. Now with my small hands wrapped around his neck, Satoru escorted me out of the abandoned house.
"[Name]!" I heard mama's voice.
"Mama!" I wriggled as I stretched my hands to her.
Satoru transfers me to her arms easily. "Mama!" I wrapped my hands tightly around her.
"It's good you are alright." She sighed in relief.
"Satoru saved me." I smiled.
"Thank you, Satoru-kun. Suguru-kun too, thank you for rescuing the others." Mama bowed.
"No. It was our duty. No need to thank us." Suguru smiled.
"There's no way I will let [Name]-chan get hurt." Satoru supplied.
"[Name]." Mama set me on the ground. My senses are tingling. "Didn't Satoru-kun tell you not to go inside the abandoned house?"
"...I…Hinako-chan said Satoru is a liar. I just want her to know Satoru is not a liar." I muttered, sneaking a peek at her, only to be stared down with hard glare. "Satoru…" I pleaded to the older teen. He always takes my side.
"Even though I am happy. I am quite angry with you too, [Name]-chan." Satoru smiled.
I flinch, then I look at my last resort, Suguru.
"There's no use looking at me, [Name]-chan." Suguru smiled too.
"I...am sorry…I just don't want her to say Satoru is a liar. Satoru is...not a...liar" I hiccuped, tears started flowing again.
"[Name]-chan." I heard Satoru sighed as he lifted me up. "I don't really care if they say I am a liar. I just don't want you hurt. As long as you believe in me. I will be fine." Satoru patted my head.
"[Name], you are a kind child. But Mama doesn't want anything to happen to you. If something happens to you. Mama will…" Mama choked out a sob.
"Sorry...I am sorry, mama!" I wailed. The incident was over. The rescued children were all asleep and brought back to their parents. They were told the children fall asleep after playing some kind of adventure game. The children will quickly forget after they wake up believing that was some kind of dream. The only ones who properly remember this are Yae-chan and me.
Yae-chan has promised to keep this a secret. That night, the dinner was lively. Satoru and Suguru were eating with us.
"[Name]-chan, it's time to sleep." Satoru patted my bed. Wearing blue pajamas, I crawl to the bed. "Let's tuck you to bed." He grinned.
"Satoru, don't turn off the light, okay." I murmured.
"Are you afraid?" He blinked.
"Un…" I nodded my head.
"Then, next time, please don't go to dangerous places. You should just ignore whatever they are saying." He flicked my forehead. A small 'itta' escaped my mouth. "You really worried me, [Name]-chan." He sighed.
"Sorry...Satoru… I promised I won't go to dangerous places again." I stuck my pinkie to him.
"You promised, okay. Don't break it. If you break your promise, you will have to swallow a thousand needles." He wrapped his pinkie to mine.
"I will. So, Satoru, don't leave me alone okay." I am getting sleepy. My eyes are dropping.
"Sweet dreams." With a kiss on the forehead, I am out like a feather. ~"~
Gojo Satoru, he prided himself to be strong. He didn't really understand why he should have protected the weak. This world no matter how evolved, the rule is still the same. The strong prey on the weak.
But as usual, there is always an exception. For Gojo Satoru, his exception is the little girl sleeping on the bed. This seemingly normal girl. Well, maybe not so normal. As the sole heir of the Gojo clan he is always on guard. Because everyone around him always want a piece of him.
That's why he always taunts and teases them. Just to remind them not to mess with him. But at the same time, this attitude earned him a lot of enemies. The Gojo clan praises him as a genius. So, from the moment he was born, he had to shoulder those unneeded expectations.
He used to try hard because of it, but right now he doesn't give a damn.
Well, this little girl is the first one to tell him. It's okay to take a break and just let go of those expectations. Coming from a little girl, this is quite a feat. That was the first time Gojo Satoru let out a genuine smile for her. ~"~
"Satoru." A small girl not older than 3 years old poked her head into his room.
"[Name]-chan." Satoru plastered a smile as usual. This little kid from his neighbor seems attached to him. Well, he didn't mind. She was quite amusing for her age. Trying to mimic him and all.
"Satoru. Here, kakigori." [Name] smiled as she handed the sweet to him.
"Oh, kakigori. Thank you [Name]-chan." He never declined a sweet.
"Of course. I hope after you eat it, you will become cheerful." She smiled, her baby teeth showing.
"I am always cheerful." He grinned.
"Nuh uh. You are always sad. I don't know. I just know you are sad. Don't get sad anymore Satoru." The little girl patted his head. "Pain pain goes away.." Her little palm covered his eyes before making a motion like throwing something away. "Pain pain goes away… hic… pain...pain… go..away..." She sobbed.
Bewildered, Satoru finally let out a helpless sigh. "Why are you crying, [Name]-chan?" He patted my head.
"Because you didn't cry. Sorry… I can't take your pain away...sowwy…"
"It's not your fault. [Name]-chan. Thank you for crying for me." He pulled the much smaller girl to a hug. "Don't cry anymore. I will be okay. The pain has gone away." He coaxed the girl.
For the first time in his life. Gojo Satoru knew what it was like being worried by other people. "Really? You are not lying?" [Name] hiccuped.
"Of course." He wiped her snot with a handkerchief. "I will never lie to you." He smiled. "So, don't cry anymore."
"Okay." She nodded, smiling.
"Good, let's eat kakigori toge..ther…" The forgotten kakigori has melted. "Let's go eat ice cream." Satoru lifted the small girl.
"I want bubble gum flavour. Because it's like your eyes, so pretty."
"Eh? [Name]-chan, does that mean you want to eat my eyes?" He put on a faux hurt expression.
"Of course not. Silly Satoru. I just like the colour of your eyes. They are so pretty. Because they are yours." The girl giggled.
"I see. I like your eyes too. They are so honest. Just like you."
"Hehehe, thank you."
From that moment, a genuine bond formed between them. And his affection to her too has become genuine. In other words, he spoiled her rotten, of course within limits. She might be the only one who can bend the Gojo Satoru to her will. Later, she will be known as the Gojo Satoru's owner. ~"~
After the incident, Satoru and Suguru agreed to teach me some basics of close combat for self defense. And apparently, I am not allowed to go out alone for a month. Either being accompanied by Mama, Satoru, Suguru sometimes even Nanamin or someone from Jujutsu High.
Apparently I was born with innate ability as an onmyouji. But, my necklace which was given by my late father is some kind of seal, sealing the ability to see. The seal has weakened, and I start seeing the curse. Mama has told Satoru, Suguru and Masamichi sensei my origin.
Apparently, my great great great...uh… many generations ago, someone from my father's side is a direct descendant from a Keikain, an onmyouji. She is married to a youkai. The Keikain clan died out many generations ago. Father is, what was the word, a leftover. At that time, my grandma from generations ago was expelled from clan because marrying a youkai. They took different surnames and voila, I was born after generations had passed.
When I was born, papa said my spiritual power is too strong, this kind of power is attractive to curses. They are effective in purging curses but also in attracting curses. So, he sealed my power. Hoping I will just live as a normal girl.
But alas, the seal quickly weakened, one because I hung around a lot with someone with a cursed power. Two, I have encountered cursed spirits.
"Mama, am I bad? Is it because this Papa has gone far away?" I blinked my watery eyes.
"Oh no. Of course not, honey. It's definitely not your fault. Papa has gone far away to search for a way to help you." Mama gave me a teary smile.
"Okay…" I nodded.
"...Onmyouji, huh? I am not sure how to handle onmyouji spiritual power." Sensei sighed.
"Is that different from curse power?" Suguru asked.
"If curse energy is negative energy. Then spiritual power is positive power. Though all the same it can be used like curse power. It just, spiritual power is far more attractive to curses than curse power or curse object. I am not sure whether the way of handling them are the same." Sensei said.
"My late husband had some books for spiritual power. I am not sure whether this will help or not." Mama said.
"Can I take a look?"
"Of course." Mama then led Sensei to Papa's study.
"Satoru, Suguru. Will I be okay? Is Mama troubled because of me?" I asked the older males.
"[Name]-chan…"
"Of course not, [Name]-chan. Don't worry. Nothing will happen to you. This Gojo Satoru will protect you. And Reika-san is not troubled because of you." He patted my head.
"Not only Satoru, I will also protect you. What Satoru said is right. Your mom is not troubled because you. That's why don't worry." He smiled.
"Thank you, Satoru, Suguru." I smiled.
So, in the end it's decided I will stay in Jujutsu high with Satoru because it's the best option for my safety. Mama will stay with me every weekend or holiday. My room is in between Satoru and Suguru. Someone will take me to school every morning.
Even though I have my own room, I mostly sleep in Satoru's room when he is not out. And in the morning Suguru will wake us. After school, sensei will tell me how to meditate. According to him, even though I have different power, the way of channelling is more or less the same. So, meditating is the first step. ~"~
Few months later
"Who is this little girl?" A big sister wearing a maiden shrine outfit peered down at me. I hide myself behind Nanamin's leg.
"She is a special student here." Nanamin told her.
"Kon...konichiwa, I am Hisaki [Name]. Umm… nice to meet you." I bowed and hid myself again.
"So cute." She smiled. "I am Iori Utahime. Nice to meet you, [Name]-chan." She kneeled down to my level and smiled.
"Un!" I smiled.
"By the way, she has another nickname." Nanamin said.
"Nickname?"
"Gojo Satoru's owner."
Big sister suddenly freezes. "Onee-chan, what's wrong?" I blinked.
"This little girl is what?" She asked again.
"Gojo Satoru's owner." Nanamin said again.
"We are talking about that Gojo Satoru, right? The annoying arrogant prick. There's no way he will listen to other's orders. Let alone a small girl." Utahime Onee-chan said indecorously.
"But, this is the truth." Nanamin said.
"Are you two fighting?" I looked up at them.
"No. We are not fighting. She is just having trouble processing that you are Gojo-san's owner." Nanamin said.
"Satoru? Onee-chan knows about Satoru's too?" I smiled at her.
"Well, no one doesn't know who he is." Utahime onee-chan grumbled.
"Onee-chan, do you hate Satoru?" I tilted my head. "Satoru is nice. He just doesn't know how to show it."
"Did he brainwash her?"
"No. It's the opposite."
"I can't wait for Utahime to come."
"Satoru, don't tease her." The door opened, revealing Satoru and Suguru.
"Ah! Satoru, Suguru." I waved my hand excitedly.
"[Name]-chan. I have come back. I bought a lot of sweets." Satoru grinned. "Ah, Utahime, there's none for you." Satoru told the girl.
"I don't want any!" Utahime Onee-chan yelled.
"Bad Satoru, sharing is caring." I scolded.
"Well, I care about you, so I share my sweets with you." He grinned.
"Then, what about Suguru?" I titled my head.
"...well, I will give him one then."
"Nanamin too."
"Ok, one for Nanamin."
"What about Utahime onee-chan?"
"Utahime doesn't need it. She is dieting." Satoru whispered (loudly) to my ear.
"I am not!!" Utahime onee-chan yelled.
"See what I mean." Nanamin sighed as he would rather go outside to exorcise curse spirits rather than being in the same room with Satoru.
"Ah, Nanamin." I called. I grab a few sweets from the plastic bag. "Thank you for accompanying me today." I smiled.
"...you are welcome." A slight smile curved on his lips.
"Ah! Nanamin smiled. Let me get a picture." Satoru exclaimed, taking out his phone.
Quickly as it came, Nanamin's smile disappeared. "Then, I will be on my way." Nanamin left.
"Onee-chan, let's eat sweets together." I smiled.
"Ehh~ [Name]-chan. I thought this is our quality time." Satoru whined.
"The more the merrier. Let's ask Shoko too." I clapped my hand.
Shoko finally arrived. We are already waiting for her as we munch the sweets. Utahime onee-chan ate some too. "Shoko, you are late." Satoru said.
"Shoko, I saved your favourite." I waved.
"Thanks, [Name]-chan. Looks like even though you spend a lot of time with Satoru, your personality is still intact." She patted my head.
I… don't understand a thing she said. I blink and look at Satoru. "Shoko, that's not a nice thing to say. I am just fine." Satoru said.
“Satoru.” I called.
“Hm?” He hummed in respond.
“What is owner?” I asked curiously. Satoru blinks owlishly at me.
“Nanamin said, I am Satoru’s owner? What does that mean?” I munched a pocky stick.
“That means, [Name]-chan can ask me to do anything.” He grinned.
“Anything?” I blinked.
“Anything. What do you want me to do?” He smirked proudly.
"Then, Satoru, can you open this for me?" I asked as I handed him a pocky box.
"Of course." Satoru smiled as he used his cursed technique to open the box.
"Amazing." My eyes sparkled.
"Is it? Because I am the strongest." Satoru laughed (cockily).
"You are so amazing, Satoru. I hope I will become like you too." I clapped my hand.
"Yep. But I will be way stronger by then." He smirked.
"Is that so? Then, you will protect me, right?" I smiled.
"Of course. Leave it all to Gojo Satoru." He grinned. ~"~
While the others are still eating without batting an eye. Utahime is gaping. That Gojo Satoru is acting nice in front of a little girl. She was quite skeptical when she heard [Name] is Gojo Satoru's owner. She did tell him to share his sweets and he complied. But, she thought it was just to humour her. Utahime never thought he was so whipped. She can clearly see his affection is genuine.
Utahime looks at Shoko. "This is the usual." Shoko munched her sweets.
"Eehh…" Utahime is processing the scene in front of her. ~"~
"[Name]-chan, it's your bedtime." Satoru lifted me up.
"Eehh… I want to play with Shoko and Utahime onee-chan too." I pouted
"No can do, young lady. It's 9 o'clock. It's time for sleep. Reika-san will get angry if you sleep late." Satoru said.
"...okay… bye bye Shoko, Utahime onee-chan, Suguru." I waved.
"Bye bye." They waved.
After changing into my pajamas, right now I curled in Satoru's bed. "Satoru… Bedtime story." I am excited for bedtime story. Satoru always has some funny stories.
"Well… long long time ago, there was a strong sorcerer named Gojo Satoru…" I giggled at his opening.
"He is so strong that no one can win against him."
"How strong?" I blinked.
"Hmm…. I can win with just one finger." He smiled.
"Really?"
"Really really." He nodded. "Then, one day. Some old geezers came to challenge him."
"Who are the old geezers?" I asked.
"Annoying people." He answered.
"Oh."
"So, the old geezers challenged him and lost miserably. The end." He grinned.
"So fast." I pouted.
"It's time to sleep." Satoru slipped into the bed too. I quickly snuggle to him and out like a feather. ~"~
A year later
I am running on the street, searching for a familiar curse energy. I feel it just now, so he won't be far. "Suguru!" I yelled. "SUGURU!" I yelled out loudly. Finally the said stops moving and turns around to face me. "Don't go, Suguru." I cried.
"I can't. I have lost faith in humanity." He smiled sadly.
"Then, why are you so sad? You don't want to go, right? Then don't go! Stay with us!" I cried not caring how ugly my appearance was.
He shakes his head. "I am sad maybe because I won't be seeing you ordering Satoru around." He patted my head.
"Please don't go. I will work harder, I won't slack off anymore. I will cut my sweet. I will properly sleep in my bed. Hic...don't go...hic."
"If you do that, Satoru will be lonely." He sighed helplessly. "Please stay with him, okay." He smiled
"Su...gu..ru…" As soon as he touched my forehead, I felt sleepy. 'No...I can't…'
Suguru catches the unconscious girl. He brings her to the nearest park, takes a photo and sends it to Satoru. After that, he leaves some of the cursed spirit to guard her.
Satoru, just as he has received the picture from an unknown number, quickly teleports to the park. Fortunately [Name] is unharmed. "Don't...go...Suguru…" A lone tear escaped her already tear-stained cheek. ~"~
~Few years later~
[Name] 15 years old
Gojo Satoru 26 years old.
This happened before my promotion to a semi-second grade sorcerer. I was staying over in Satoru's house because Mama is out for vacation.
"Breakfast is ready." A cheerful voice said.
"Good morning, Satoru." I rubbed my sleepy eyes.
"Good morning, [Name]-chan. I have made your favourite." He grinned. Satoru is wearing a casual black long-sleeved shirt and white slacks. His sunglasses perched on top of his nose bridge.
On the table two plates of omurice are placed, complete with the tableware and two glasses of milk.
"Go get freshen up before the breakfast goes cold." He ushered me to the bathroom.
"Ummm…." I nodded.
After breakfast, we are just lounging around in the living room. Watching horror movies. No matter how terrifying they made the ghost, it doesn't phase me a bit. I have been meeting a lot of curses in any shape. This one that is shaped like a human seems more human.
"[Name]-chan." Satoru called.
"Hm?"
"Why are you not scared?" He asked.
"...Because it's not scary…?" I tilted my head.
"...But, this movie guarantees that everyone will be scared if they watch it…" He pouted.
"Then, Satoru, why are you not scared too?" I asked back.
"Because I am the strongest jujutsu sorcerer. Gojo Satoru." He smirked.
"Then, I am not scared because I am Gojo Satoru's owner." I said flatly.
"...the nickname seems stuck with you." He sweatdropped. "But, I like it." He grinned. "But, I like it more if you are scared and cling to me." He wrapped his arms around himself. "Kyaaa!!! Satoru, it's so scary." He said in a very disgusting high-pitched voice. "Don't worry, [Name]-chan. I am here." He said in his voice again.
"..." I looked at him for a while and ignored him, focusing my attention on tv.
"[Name]-chan has become so cold." He fake-cried. "Where is my cute [Name]-chan that always clings to me and calls me Satoru."
….There's a reason why I act like this. This guy is unbelievably popular. Whether it's a little kid, teenager, career woman, married woman, even grandma will act like a girl with her first crush just by seeing his face.
And there's one time the commotion happened in my school. I think I was in 5th grade. That time he substitutes my mom coming to school. It's a parent-teacher conference. I still remember how happy I was, until this guy showed up without his blindfold. You can imagine the commotion he caused. Everyone, by everyone I mean everyone. From students to teachers to parents. They are ogling at him. He knew and enjoyed it.
And so, going home from school, I banned him from wearing his sunglasses when outside. He has to stick with a blindfold. At least, with blindfold, no one pays attention to him. In other words, it's just the jealousy of a hormonal teenager. But, there's no way I will tell him this.
"Satoru… you are creepy." I deadpanned.
"[Name]-chan." He whined.
"...So, you want me to act scared or not." I sighed.
A wide grin with his hands stretched out is the answer. ~"~
Right before summer vacation, the whole class is going to do a test of courage. You know this is some kind of matchmaking. They will choose some of that was not scary at all. Pair the class into girl boy pairing and they have to walk around the designated perimeter together with just one flashlight. The scared girl will cling to the boy, and the boy will assure her they will be alright. What a scam.
They have agreed to meet in the old school building entrance tonight. "Will something pop out there?" Yae asked.
"Old school building? I have long exorcised the curse spirit over there." I answered.
"As expected from onmyouji. So, what progress have you made with your 'Satoru'?" Yae teased.
"...There's no progress to report. He is older than me, like what? 11 years." I sighed.
"But, you like him right? As in you want him to ravish-"
“Let’s stop before our conversation steered away to unknown territory.” I cut her off. “Besides, that’s not love. It’s called lust.” I mumbled, cheeks tinted pink, because my mind dangerously hovered on a certain image she said.
"You think I am 3 years old?" She rolled her eyes. "Love and lust are always together. Love is just more glorified than lust. Because if you love someone then you want everything they are physically and spiritually. While lust might be because they like one or more aspects they have."
"Yae… how come you know this?" I blinked.
"Anime and movies are the source. Unlike you who only watch horror genre and can even laugh at it." She snorted.
"Well, it can't be helped because it's not scary. Their movements are funny too. Cursed spirits don't move like that. They-"
"So, do you like him or not?" She asked.
"...of course I like him." I mumbled. "But, I am sure to him I was just a little sister." I said.
"Did he tell you that?" Yae asked.
"Umm...Few times when I was in grade school?" I blinked.
"That is hardly a proof. I mean, if he showed interest when you were a grade schooler, doesn't that make him a dangerous person?" Yae snorted.
"Well… I can't deny that." I nodded.
"Besides, it's just an 11 years age gap. Did you forget there was a time when a 40 something old man married an 18 something girl. That's what we call a cradle robber." Yae raised her brow.
"It was in the past…" I mumbled.
"Not really. There are some cases like this too right now. Well, all you need is to wait until you are 18 and then eat him in one swoop." Yae grinned.
"I...am not going to eat him. By the time I am 18, he might already have a girlfriend or wife." I grumbled.
"....with that kind of personality? I don't think so. I think only you can handle him. Or at least he is tamer with you." Yae smirked.
"Don't talk like he is some kind of pet." I sweatdropped.
"Oh, but he is. You are his owner. You do know your nickname on going in those circles, don't you?" Yae laughed. She is enjoying this.
"...Gojo Satoru's owner…"
"Yep. You should use that to your advantage." Yae giggled.
"...How should I use it?" I tilted my head.
"...Think for yourself." Yae rolled her eyes.
"Eehhh?"
"So, are you coming for the test of courage?" Yae asked.
"No. I have a job tonight. Nothing dangerous will happen there." I shook my head.
"Then, I am coming with you." Yae said.
"Hm? You are not going with them?" I blinked.
"What's the point? Megumi is not there." Yae rolled her eyes.
"Megumi is in a different school though." I sweatdropped.
"That's why I don't want to go. I'd rather watch you exorcise cursed spirits." Yae reasoned.
*Bzzzz* My phone vibrated. I fish out my phone from my skirt's pocket and see a notification from Satoru. I open his message.
"Tonight, Megumi will go with you. (ノ≧ڡ≦) Teehee~!"
"I see…"
"What's wrong?"
"Megumi will come with me tonight." I threw my phone to her, so she can see the message.
"Coming with you is really a good idea." Yae giggled. “I will tell class rep we won’t be participating.” She smiled.
This girl will do anything just to see Megumi. Her infatuation is really something. Megumi… I think he might have a crush on her too. And Yae is good at playing pull and push with Megumi. I am sure Megumi has no idea about this. Truly, a copy of Satoru. Sometimes I wonder if they are related to each other.
Who would've ever thought that sweet Yae grew up to be like this. I sigh, this is Satoru's fault. I heard their conversation when I was in 6th grade. Satoru was teaching this girl how to attract Megumi. The content of the conversation is so scary that I ran straight to Megumi's temporary room and told him not to grow up like Satoru.
10 o'clock. Yae, Megumi and I are in front of the cursed building. "Megumi, here. I made too much. Eat them later with Tsumiki-san." Yae dropped a small pouch of cookies on Megumi's palm.
"Thank you very much." Megumi said.
'It's definitely a lie. She must have made it just now.' I sweatdropped. I sigh, "Megumi, let's get this finished quickly and eat some ice cream." I called the younger boy.
"...We have no supervisor? What about Gojo-sensei?" Megumi blinked.
"Our supervisor for today is Ijichi-san. As for Satoru, he said he has business."
"No can do, [Name]-san. You shouldn't allow your pet to roam without you." Megumi said flatly.
"....He's not a pet though…" I sighed.
"But, you are his owner. Please control him." Megumi said.
"...Shut up… talk later. Let's finish this quickly." I huffed.
"Then, I will lower the curtain." Ijichi-san said as he made a hand seal. After the curtain is lowered, we enter the building.
Megumi summons his Gyokuken (Divine Dog) a pair of black and white dogs, while I summon a shikigami, Tanro, a Honshu wolf. "[Name]-san, I will take this one. So, you take the other one." Megumi said.
"Okay. Call me if you need anything." I nodded as I mounted Tanro. I quickly arrived at the second cursed spirit's location and easily dispatched it. This building was haunted by some 4th grade cursed spirit. The weakest one in the hierarchy.
The mission is over quickly, dispatching some 4th grade cursed spirits are hardly what we call a mission. This is more to let us accumulate experience.
"It's over." I stretched my hands up as we exited the building. "Ijichi-san. You can raise the curtains. We have finished." I told the older male.
"Thank you for your hard work." Ijichi-san smiled.
"No problem. Megumi, we are going for ice cream. Will you come with us?" I asked.
"...Sorry. I still have homework to do and Tsumiki will get mad if I stay out late." Megumi said. Yae's smile drops considerably. "Maybe next time. I will definitely join next time." Megumi said.
"Okay. You promised." Yae smiled.
'Ah, the push and pull.'
In the end, only the two of us are having ice cream. "Why don't you call Satoru-san?" Yae scooped her parfait.
"He won't be back until morning it seems." I showed her the message.
"I'll be back late. ʕっ•ᴥ•ʔっ"
"We should go home too, after finishing this." I gazed at the window.
"Can't wait to sleep in his bed?" Yae smirked.
"...I sleep on my bed. I have my own room."
"You can use this chance to sleep on his bed." Come the suggestion. "You guys are used to sleeping together anyway. I am sure he won't mind."
"That was in grade school. I...am not a child anymore." I mumbled, a slight blush coating my cheeks.
"The question is whether you want to or not."
"I...want to…" I muttered softly.
"Then, easy, just do it. You used to do whatever you want anyway." Yae sighed.
"I know… it's just…" I remember the words that that woman said to me.
"I pity him. He has to babysit you so much he can't even have time for himself."
I was so angry at that time. But, now I think about it, she is right. Almost 24/7 I stay with him. Satoru might not say anything. But, maybe because he's afraid of hurting me.
"So, what happened exactly?" Yae sighed.
"Yae… you remember I told you about that woman I saw with Satoru, right?" I opened my mouth to speak.
"Ah. I remember you told me about an old hag hanging around him. Yep. I remember." She nodded.
"You see… that woman told me…" I recounted the tale and the words she said to me.
"I see. What a load of bullshit." Yae deadpanned. "And, you are an idiot too, for falling for her words." Yae flicked my forehead.
"Ittai." I rubbed the sore spot.
"That woman probably just wants to get to his pants. But, was rejected. And she shifted the blame to you. Don't worry much about what other people think. Just think about what you want to do." Yae said.
"What I want...to do…"
"If you keep pushing him away, he might really go away. Satoru-san's personality is unrestrained. He might slip away. Do you want it to happen?"
"I don't want to!" I answered quickly.
"Then, you know what you should do, right?"
"Be more honest with what I want." I nodded.
"Good. You have the entire summer vacation to do it. You are going to Jujutsu high anyway." She smiled.
"Yeah. Thanks Yae." I smiled gratefully at my best friend.
"Of course. You owe me a cake from Sweets Bakery." She said.
"No worry. I will buy it." I laughed. The two of us share a laugh.
*Bzzzz bzzzz*
My phone vibrated signalling an incoming call. "Moshi moshi, [Name] here."
"[Name], where are you right now?" Hinako's voice transmitted to my ears.
"We are eating ice cream at Kinoko's family restaurant." I answered.
"Can you come to sanchoume. We are having kimodameshi here…" She said.
"What?! Aren't you guys in the old school building?" I frowned.
"The thing is, Yuriko told them about this abandoned building in sanchoume. They said it seemed interesting and changed their location. Now they are inside and haven't come out yet. It's almost an hour." Hinako cried. "You are an onmyouji, right? I remember you were the one who help us back then. Please help." She pleaded.
"...Listen. Don't let the others enter the building, okay. Not even to search. I will be there soon." I hung up.
"What's wrong?" Yae asked.
"Those idiots went to an abandoned house in sanchoume. Hinako said some of them have gone inside and haven't come back. I will go and check on them." I grumbled. "I will smack them so hard after I rescue them." An annoyed tick appeared on my forehead.
I put on my jacket and speed dial Satoru's number. "Moshi moshi, my cute [Name]-chan. Have you finished your mission?" Satoru's playful voice came through the phone.
"Satoru. There's an emergency. Idiots from my class have gone to an abandoned house in sanchoume for kimodameshi. Cursed spirits might be there. I will go there right now."
"Is Megumi with you?"
"Megumi has gone home. We have finished our mission. Right now it's only Yae and I."
"Understood. I will take some time to arrive. Don't do anything dangerous." He said seriously.
"I know." I hung up and sped through the street. I want to use Tanro, but this will shock people, so I can only use my feet.
Time like this is how I envied Satoru. He can teleport and fly in the air. Arriving there, I can see Hinako is trying to block them from entering.
"Hinako!" I called.
"[Name]. You are here." She smiled in relief.
"So, who is inside?" I asked without beating the bush.
"Yuriko, Mio, Higashi-kun and Takeuchi-kun." She listed out the most troublesome people in our class.
"Tsk. Stupid idiots. I hope they are still alive so I can smack them so hard they will fly back to their house." I grumbled.
"Please save them, [Name]." She pleaded.
"I will. As long as they are still alive." I said grimly. The stench is too much, my nose scrunched up in disgust. 'This might a first grade.' I gulped. I have only ever fought with second grade and that was under Satoru's supervision. 'Fine. Bring it on. If I keep being like this. I won't be a first grade onmyouji/sorcerer.'
I step into the house. "Tanro." I called for my shikigami. "Let's locate the human scent first. Can you do it?"
"Awooo." He howled. Tanro then speeds through the building. Tanro stops in one of the rooms. "Awoooo!" He howled.
It seems like they are here. "Tanro, bust open the door." I commanded. With a roar Tanro tears open the metal door.
"Hiii!!!"
"Kyaaaa!!!"
The screams from inside the room prove that they are still alive. "Hi-Hisaki…?" Takeuchi-kun lowered his trembling hands with a pole.
"Wh...what are you riding?"
"Kyaaa! A monster!!!" Yuriko screamed.
"I will smack you all later. For now, let's get out of here." I dismounted Tanro.
"Be-behind you!!"
The cursed spirit is blocked by Rokuson. Another shikigami I have called. A deer. "Bukyoku." I called another one. This time it's a samurai.
"[Name]-sama." He greeted me.
"Tanro, Rokuson, take them out. Bukyoku, we will hold it here." I commanded.
"Yes!" Bukyoku charged to the cursed spirit, which I am certain is a first grade. "Bind." I made a hand seal, glowing light warped around its neck and limbs, sealing its movement. Tanro and Rokuson crash the windows in this room to get outside. The easiest method.
"Ki...kikiki!!!" The cursed spirit gets angry. The room distorts and suddenly all exits are blocked. The binding spell has been broken.
"Domain expansion… this is bad…" A bead of sweat rolled down my temple.
"Kikikikiki!" It sounded like he was having fun.
"Sorry, but I am the hunter and you are the prey." I glared at it. "Rentei!" Another shikigami, this time a koi fish shikigami. "Transform." Rentei transformed into a katana, Nenekirimaru. "Bukyoku!"
"Ha!" Bukyoku and I took a swing at it. I am actually more of a supporting role, as my sealing and binding technique are much in higher level than my almost non-existence offensive technique. That's why I use Shikigamis. But, my supportive skills are weakened in this domain. My sword skill is really average. So, I didn't actually do much damage to it.
Bukyoku falls down to his knees. I can't call back Rokuson and Tanro because being blocked by its domain. The only way to counter domain expansion is to make my own.
I have tried a few times, but I always fail. This time… if I fail I will definitely die. "I won't die. I promised Suguru that I will stay by Satoru's side. Besides, as his owner, I can't die easily."
I released Rentei and made a hand seal. Chains start coming out from every direction, chaining the cursed spirit.
"Domain expansion, Shikigami no Hyakki Yako." In an instant the space around me changed shape again. This time, it's almost like a giant shrine. We are standing right on the Torii gate. The shrine's door opened. White mists spread out from the door, and something no, human skeletons fly out from the door, each skeleton wearing an onmyouji garb and forming a circle, trapping the cursed spirit.
"Harai tamae kiyome tamae, kyu kyu nyo ritsu yo." The skeleton shikigamis made a hand seal. Another layer of binding spell is casted. Sphere of lights concentrated above the cursed spirit, it took a shape of a giant spear. The light spear pierce down the cursed spirit and completely annihilate it.
Completely spent, my domain vanished, I can't even maintain Bukyoku. "Haa...haa...haa…" I panted. "I will become stronger. Strong enough so Satoru won't worry about me." My legs gave out due to exhaustion.
"Otto. Worrying about you is my job, [Name]-chan. No matter how strong you are, I won't stop worrying." Smell of Wisteria flooded my nose.
"I did it. Domain expansion." I gave him a weak smile.
"I know. You did a good job." He smiled, unlike the usual teasing or mocking smile. He gave me a genuine smile. A smile reserved only for me. "But, next time please exorcise it without injuring yourself." He said.
"...I am going to ignore you for the rest of the week, Satoru." I grumbled.
"Eeehhh~." Satoru whined.
Satoru gives me a piggyback ride. "[Name], are you alright?" Yae asked worriedly.
"....Except exhaustion, I am fine." I smiled weakly.
"Hisaki, are you alright? Did that monster get you?"
"I won't be here if it got me, idiot." I rolled my eyes.
"Hisaki, that was so cool. What was that deer and that wolf? Call them one more time."
"Hisaki."
"Hisaki."
They keep calling me, it's annoying. "Hai~" Satoru called out. "[Name]-chan is tired right now. So, no more questions." Satoru smiled.
"Hey, why are you wearing a blindfold?"
"Don't tell me he is your boyfriend. A blindfold? Is he blind? Lame."
"...Satoru, don't you dare lower your blindfold, or I am really going to ignore you." I muttered.
"Oya, don't tell me my cute [Name]-chan is jealous." He teased me. He knew exactly what my reaction would be. It usually will be, "I just don't want to handle another commotion. You stupid idiot." With deadpanned eyes and slightly blushing cheeks.
But, this time I promised I will be more honest with myself. "Un. I will be jealous. you are not allowed to look at other girls or women without your blindfold. No sunglasses too." I mumbled softly, just soft enough for him to hear.
It's only for a split second, but I feel his whole body freeze by my unexpected reply. "And don't add -chan to my name anymore." I jumped down from his back.
"I promise I will smack you guys. So, which idiot changed the location?" I looked at them.
All of them start looking at each other. Cearly no one wants to say anything. "You guys are lucky I am nearby. What if something happens to you guys? Think what your parents would think if you guys died earlier than them."
"You...You are an onmyouji, right? Then you have the duty to protect us." Yanagawa Yuriko stuttered.
"I-"
"We saved people who accidentally caught up in this mess. But, we are not obliged to save someone who courts death." Satoru said.
"H-Hmph. This is not your business, blindfold guy."
"Oh, this is my business. As an adult, I have the authority to report a group of kids who trespassed a forbidden entry building." Satoru flashed a smile as he showed them the number he called. 110
Their faces went pale. "Oi, you kids! what are you doing here? This is a forbidden entry building!" Local polices have come.
In the end, except for Yae and I. They are all being questioned by the police and writing an apology statement. After that, they are allowed to leave.~"~
Outside police box
"So… what advice did you give to her? She has become much more honest." Satoru looked at the girl beside him.
"I just told her to be more honest to herself or else you will slip away." Yae grinned as she looked at the newest picture of Megumi.
"Is that so? She was cute before. Right now, she has become cuter. What should I do?" He grinned.
"Well, I did manage to get from her, why she is not as clingy as she was as a kid." Yae put her phone in her pocket.
"Oh? Do tell me. I will get Megumi's sleeping face for you." He grinned. He knows of her infatuation with Megumi.
"Deal!" Yae exclaimed happily. "So, do you remember which woman that hung around you when we were in 6th grade? Apparently that woman told [Name] she was pitying you, because you will have to babysit her every time and hardly have time for yourself."
"A woman….?...Too many unimportant people hang around me."
"So, I told her it was just that woman's bullshit. She was definitely being rejected by you when she was trying to get into your pants and she doesn't need to care what other people are thinking, but what she wants."
"So, that woman was the reason. If not for her, then [Name] and I will be much closer already." Satoru whined.
"You are calling her without -chan. Why didn't you do it when you were calling for her?" Yae blinked.
"It's an adult's circumstances." He flashed a smile.
"....At least, wait for her until she is in legal age, okay." Yae sighed.
"Will try." ~"~
"Sorry for the wait." I exited the police box. The policewoman was kind enough to clean and bandage my wounds. Even though most of them are just scratches.
"It's almost 1 o'clock in the morning. What will you do?" Satoru asked Yae.
"I will sleepover in [Name]'s house." Yae yawned.
"I don't mind. Let's go." I smiled.
They start walking, but I still root on the spot. "[Name]-chan?" Satoru called.
"I can't walk. My legs hurt. Piggyback." I held out my hands.
Satoru grins widely. With a few large strides, he kneels down showing his back to me. His arms are around my knees and my hands loop around his neck. Smell of wisteria is flooding my senses. I start feeling sleepy. "Satoru…" I called.
"Hm?"
"I am not bothering you, right? ...You won't be angry if I am clingy, right?" My eyelids are starting to drop.
"Silly [Name]. I like it when you bother and cling to me." He laughed.
"I see… then,...I am...glad." I fell asleep as soon as I got it out of my mouth. ~"~
The whole month passes away in blur. Yae and I spent my whole summer break in Jujutsu High, just like every other year in the past. And I have been promoted to semi-second grade sorcerer by Shoko. Satoru celebrated it by buying sweets. Which is welcomed by us.
Now back to school. The rumour that I am an onmyouji has spread. Everyone will stare at me like I am some kind of rare animal in a zoo. And a lot of pointless requests flood in. 'I feel like I am haunted' or 'the hair of a Japanese doll in my house is getting longer' this kind of thing. In short, nothing is associated with cursed spirits.
Unlike when I was in school grader, where I was being driven to Jujutsu High after school. I was deemed good enough to live at my house again at the start of my middle school. So, no more Ijichi-san after school to escape from this rowdy crowd.
Hinako, Mikan and Sera started having lunch with Yae and I again after the whole kimodameshi fiasco. "[Name]-chan. That blindfold guy… don't tell me, is he the one that helped us in grade school?" Hinako asked.
"...I don't really remember that whole incident. But, I remember a pair of very handsome blue eyed onii-chan and black eyed onii-chan at that time." Sera said.
"Yes. That blindfold guy is the one from our grade school incident." Yae nodded.
"...Huh? Wait a moment. Was he your neighbour onii-chan back then? The one who Hinako called a liar?" Sera blinked.
"Correct." Yae nodded.
"....Was he also the one that came to your parent-teacher conference that time?" Hinako asked excitedly.
"Ah, yes. The very same." Yae nodded happily.
"...Why is Yae-chan the one answered?" Mikan sweatdropped.
I have long dropped into an annoyed mood. "How come this guy still causes trouble without him being here?" I grumbled.
"But, why is he wearing a blindfold? Did he have an accident?" Mikan frowned.
"Nope. He is wearing it for personal reasons." Yae laughed as she sneaked a glance to me. The rest of the girls are also shift their line sight to me, who is chomping on lunch, looking like someone ready to murder a certain someone.
*Bzzzz bzzz*
My phone vibrates, I frown as I unlock my phone. "❤ (ɔˆз(ˆ⌣ˆc)"
My phone vibrates again before I could type an answer. A familiar playful voice comes out from the phone. "[Name]-chan, I want a ki-"
"Satoru, as I thought, I am going to ignore you for the rest of the week.” I sulked.
“Eeeehhh? [Name]-chan~ don’t be so mean.” He whined.
“If you behave well, I will act scared when we watch horror movie."
"Roger. I am always well behaved." I can hear his grin from here.
"Is that so? Then, why are you still causing trouble without being here?" I raised my brows.
"It's because I am the most handsome Jujutsu sorcerer, Gojo Sa-"
"I am going to hang up."
"Wait! [Name]-chan. Don't be hasty."
"I am eating lunch."
"Aw, Is my cute [Name]-chan jealous again?"
“Geee….” The rest of the girls are staring at me.
"Yes. I am jealous. You do remember when you were in high school, you attracted a lot of people, from little girls, teenagers, carrier women, married women, and grannies. That's why I told you to wear your blindfold." I mumbled softly, so they won’t hear.
"Okay, [Name]-chan. I will behave really well. I will buy a lot of sweets for the movie night. Rather, I am going to buy them now. See you later." He hung up, I could clearly hear his proud big grin from here.
"Pffft." Yae trembled in laughter while the other three looked dumbfounded.
"Shut up." I chomped on my lunch, trying to ignore the burning feeling on my cheeks.
"[Name], what kind of kinky play you did?" Yae asked amused
"We are not doing some kinky play. We are just going to watch a movie." I retorted.
"...Why need to act scared? To you, a horror movie is something like comedy though." Yae raised her brows.
"If I don't do it. He won't stop doing some disgusting high-pitched voice." I replied.
"[Name]-chan, is he your boyfriend?" Sera asked.
"Soon to be. Well, they practically are. Just waiting to be labelled." Yae mused.
"So,[Name]-chan. Which part do you like from him?" They grinned slyly.
"I...don't want to answer." I dodged the question.
"Ehhh? You are no fun." Hinako pouted.
“Then, is that why he is wearing blindfold? Because [Name]-chan is jealous?” Mikan asked excitedly.
“Half of the reason. The other half is because his eyes are sensitive to light.” Yae conjured the lie.
“Well, I will be jealous too if he is handsome like that. I don’t want anyone look at him too.” Hinako said.
“Tell us your love story.” Sera exclaimed.
“No.” I refused.~"~
So, the graduation day has arrived. After receiving our diploma. We are at the school entrance, taking a picture with friends and family members. I have already decided to go to Jujutsu High, Yae and Hinako are going to the same school. Sera and Mikan are going to an all-girls school. We promised to hang out if we have time. Yae promised to spend all her school break in Jujutsu High, just for Megumi apparently.
Some of us (read: Yae) have received flowers from our juniors, and confessions from junior or classmates alike. Yae shot down everyone that confessed to her. "Yae-san, [Name]-san. Congratulations on your graduation." Megumi said as he handed us small bouquet of flowers.
"Thank you, Megumi." I smiled.
"Thank you, Megumi." Yae shot him a brilliant smile.
"By the way, [Name]-san, you are going to Jujutsu High, right?"
"Yes." I nodded. "Megumi also will be going there after you graduate middle school, right?"
"Yes. I plan to. By the way, [Name]-san, please put a leash on Gojo-sensei. He's annoying." Megumi deadpanned.
"....He is not a pet. But it's true he is annoying." I said.
"Hisaki-san!!" Someone called out.
I blink as someone I don't recognize is walking to me nervously. He is holding a diploma, that means he is also a graduating student.
"Yes?"
"Please go out with me!!" He said, quite loudly I might add. Might be due to nervousness, because his whole face and neck are red. Now the whole students are staring at us. The chatters stop as if waiting one of us to speak.
“Accept him.” One of the students said, maybe his friends?
“Accept him. Accept him.” Soon, all of them are cheering. Yae looks like ready to murder someone. “You all-“ Megumi quickly grabbed Yae’s hand and shook his head. He secretly motioning his head to a newcomer.
"Sorry, I-" I was wrapped in wisteria scent as I was pulled back to a familiar embrace.
"Sorry. This girl is my wife to be. Can you back off?" a playful light-hearted voice said.
"Eh?" (Me)
"Ha?" (Megumi)
"Ara… how quick. Congrats, I am waiting for the wedding." (Yae)
"EEEEHHHHH????" The whole students.
I tilt my head up to look at him wearing sunglasses, paired with a long-sleeved white t-shirt and pair of black slacks. His collarbone obviously exposed with the top button unbuttoned, and to finish off, he wears a more fashionable shades. His obviously grinning mischievous blue eyes stare back at me. "...Didn't I tell you not to wear sunglasses?" I raised my brow.
"But, I am meeting my [Name]-chan. Not some other girls. I have to show off sometimes too. To scare some pests." He grinned slyly. His mischievous bright blue eyes peeked out from his glasses.
"...."
"Congrats on your graduation." He patted my head. "As for your graduation gift…” He bent down so his mouth is next to my ears. “It will be me." He whispered in my ear.
As expected, right now, the female population is exclaiming how hot he is and is speculating our relationships. Didn’t they say he was lame last year? The boy in front of me too is frozen like a statue.
"You are saying this now?” I frowned.
“Hm?” He blinked at my quite unexpected reply.
“…Satoru… Aren't you already mine from the start. I mean, I am Gojo Satoru's owner." My lips curled up to a smile.
His face broke into a grin. "...Indeed." He laughed gleefully. "As expected from my wife to be."
"...Since when?"
"Eeeh? Didn't you say you will marry me? I was waiting." He whined. "Satoru, when I grow up, I will be your bride." He made that disgusting high pitched voice again.
"Maki, do you hold playful cloud. Can I borrow it. I want to smack it to Satoru's face." I am already in phone with Maki.
"Send the picture to me later." Maki said.
"[Name]-chan. You are so mean." The overgrown child whined.
"....Please talk about this kind of thing in a private place." Megumi said.
"Megumi, you are here too?" Satoru grinned.
"I will seriously punch you." Megumi said. "[Name]-san. Please control your pet."
“Truth to be told, Satoru’s entrance is quite normal.” I said.
“Which part of him is normal?” Megumi deadpanned. “But, considering his personality, this is really count as normal.” Megumi nodded.
“What kind of entrance you are thinking he would make?” Yae asked.
I look at the overgrown man, who put his head on the top of my head, casually leaning his weight to mine. “Actually, considering his personality, I was thinking he will come in holding some kind of musical instrument bag and say something let’s go home [Name]-chan, today I will have you master “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.” Something like that.” I said.
“I see. This is more convincing.” They nodded.
“By the way Satoru, you are heavy.” I tried to free my trapped body.
“Nope.” So, the four of us are talking like the usual, completely ignoring the looks we are getting. And I too, completely forgotten I haven’t replied to the boy who has confessed to me.
“I am sorry. I can’t accept your confession. There will be someone who is better match for you. The world we are living is different.” I bowed a little.
“Eh? Ah. Yes.” He replied absentmindedly, obviously still shocked.
“Yae, Megumi. Let’s go home.”
“I will celebrate with Megumi alone. Satoru-san looks like he wants to take you to somewhere important.” Yae snickered. “I will celebrate with you later.” She smiled. “Let’s go Megumi.” Yae dragged the blushing boy away.
"Let's go home, Satoru." I sighed, dragging him away. He shamelessly intertwined his much longer fingers to mine.
I might not want him to attract annoying people. But the sight of Yuriko's face is refreshing. My lips curl to a smile.
"Are you happy that the gift is me?" He smirked.
"...Satoru… I am going to ignore you the whole week."
"Don't forget your promise, [Name]-chan. Tonight is movie night." He giggled.
"....I will try to act scared." I sighed. “So, where do you want to take me to? How come Yae know it?”
“You will know when we arrived.” He answered in a sing song voice. After a series of twist and turn from branded boutique to make-up salon. We have arrived in our destination. A high-class restaurant.
“…Why are we here?” I blinked.
“To celebrate your graduation of course.” Satoru chuckled at my dumb question.
“I thought we are having a movie night?” I looked at him. Again, he is drawing attention. “Haa…” I sighed.
“Don’t worry [Name]-chan, we are in private room.” He laughed as if he knew what was I thinking. I bet he knew.
We are guided to the private room. No, rather than private room, it’s more like a back garden. My eyes lit up, I take a few steps ahead. The garden is decorated beautifully. It feels like I step into some kind other realm. “You like it?”
“Yes.” I nodded, a delightful smile plastered on my face.
“That’s good.” we were seated in the middle of the garden. “You told me once you want to have dinner like this.” A cheshire cat grin on his face.
“I did?” I titled my head.
“Yep, you did.” He nodded.
“….” Who is this mature Satoru? I look at him blankly. “Satoru, did you eat wrong medicine today? Are you sick? Or perhaps you were cursed by cursed spirits?”
“How mean~. I am purrfectly fine. There’s no way I am cursed. I am the strongest. I just want to congrats my cute [Name]-chan for graduating middle school.” He pouted. His maturity has disappeared somewhere in the void.
“Thanks, Satoru.” I giggled. ~"~
[Name] 16 years old
Gojo Satoru 27years old
Geto Suguru 26 years old
"What… Did you say…?" I looked at the Masamichi sensei.
"Suguru is discovered near here and Satoru has gone to hunt him down." Sensei said one more time.
"...Satoru is hunting who…?" The world seems distorted. I put my hand on the table to steady myself. "No…" I whispered. I don't want them to fight. I don't want them to get hurt.
Few years after the incident of a star plasma vessel and the masacre in a small village. I understood why Suguru is doing this. Even so, I just don't want them to fight. Why… Why can we be together again? Just like that time. Before everything spiralled out of control.
I run out from the school. "Ijichi-san, take me to Suguru's location."
"I...am not sure where he is…"
"Then, just take me to the downtown." I said urgently. And to the downtown it is. I exit the car and start running. To where? I don't even know myself.
I don't know how long I ran. My feet seemed to bring me back to Satoru's house after aimlessly running on the street. "Satoru!" I threw open the door.
I panted as I tried to calm myself down. Satoru has just come out from shower judging by the wet hair and towel on his head. I ram myself to him, arms wrapping around his waist.
"What's wrong, [Name]-chan?" He patted my head. The usual Satoru will start teasing how much I miss him. The usual Satoru will grin and smirk at the sight of me coming to his house. The usual Satoru will… my body trembles, the tears I have been holding start flowing down, wetting his shirt. "Why are you crying again, hm?" His voice is getting softer.
"Because...hic...It's because… you didn't cry. Hic...so, I will cry… in your stead. Hic…" I hiccuped.
"...Thank you… for crying for me…"~"~
After a bout of crying, I freshen up in the shower. Even though we are neighbours, I think I spent a lot of time in Satoru's house. Half of my things are in the house. And no, we didn't sleep in the same bed anymore. I have my own room. So, the guest room became my permanent room.
"Let me dry your hair." Satoru grinned as I stepped into the living room. I sit on the couch, between his legs as he starts working his magic. Drying my hair.
The sound of the hairdryer died down. A pair of long arms wrapped around my shoulders. "Satoru…?"
"...Let me stay like this for a while… I will be back like the usual Gojo Satoru tomorrow. So… let's just stay like this for a while." Satoru murmured. His voice sounds so...broken. I have also noticed some tremble from his voice and his hands.
"Okay…"~"~
Gojo Satoru knew that Geto Suguru was lying. He knew it yet his hand shot through his friend's chest before he could stop it.
"If you didn't finish me now. The next target will be [Name]-chan. She has grown, hasn't she? The last descendant of Keikain onmyouji. I am sure she will be a great asset. At least her spiritual power is." Suguru sneered.
At that time Satoru only saw red, he must kill Suguru before he could do anything to her. And so, when he came to his hand has shot through his former partner's chest.
Suguru slump on his shoulder. "Listen well...Satoru… Protect [Name]…. As she grows up...her power...will attract...a lot of...trouble… Some...disgusting...old farts...higher ups… also consider her...to bear some...children…for them… Don't...ever let...them...lay hand...on her…. Or...I'll...come back….as cursed spirit...to haunt...you…"
"I promise… I won't let them lay hands on her...ever."
"That's...good...I'll...be...going….first...partner…" Geto Suguru breathed his last.~"~
[Name] 17 years old
Gojo Satoru 28 years old
I sit on bed, frowning. I have a feeling something really bad will happen soon. It makes me feel restless and anxious. "[Na~me]-chan. What are you thinking about?" Satoru poked my forehead.
"No...it's just I feel so uneasy and restless these days. I just have a feeling something bad will happen. I feel like I won't see you anymore." I bit my lips.
"I am not going anywhere." He sat down beside me and pulled me to his lap. His sunglasses are gone. "Even if by chance I go somewhere, I'll definitely be back to your side." He pressed a kiss to my forehead.
"...Aren't you supposed to say you are going to take me along." I pouted.
"Well, I can't take you along if I am going somewhere dangerous." He laughed.
"Hearing this from you makes me mad." I huffed.
"Eeehhh?"
"Because it feels like you are saying, I am weak." I mumbled.
"Well, you are weaker than me." He grinned. In retaliation, I pound his chest, which only serves him to laugh harder.
"But, I will certainly be back to your side. This is a promise and I am not lying. You do know I will never lie to you." He flashed me his cocky smirk.
"I know. I just don't like it if something were to happen to you." I rested my head on his broad shoulder.
"Nothing will happen to me. I am the strongest jujutsu sorcerer, Gojo Satoru." He laughed, his arm slipped under my shirt and was resting on my bare stomach.
"What are you doing, Satoru?"
"The mood is perfect." He grinned. His bright blue eyes are sparkling with mischief. "I have endured well all these years. So, I think it's time I get my reward, don't you think so?"
"Then...close your eyes." I muttered shyly.
"...." Satoru only looked at me with amusement.
"I know your six eyes will see everything, but just close your eyes." I grumbled.
"You do know that's a really pointless request. Since I can see anything, why not let me see." His smirk is back.
"S-shut up! Just close your eyes." I stuttered. My face is all red. I don't need a mirror to know.
"Okay." He relented and closed his eyes anyway.
For a good pointless measure, I cover his closed eyes with my palm and press a quick kiss to his lips.
"Y...you can open your eyes now." I stuttered. I am fidgeting right now. My eyes averted his.
"That was quite a different reward than what I had in mind. Surely, you have thought this much wouldn't satisfy me, [Name]."
When Satoru called me without any honorifics, it sent shivers down my spine, in a lot of ways. I know he wouldn't be satisfied. But, I am afraid… what if my body shape is not to his liking, what if my breasts are too small. I become self conscious. I am still wearing clothes, but I feel like I am already stark naked under his eyes. Is this some kind of Six Eyes special ability too?
"You are worrying about strange things again, aren't you? Don't think about anything else. Just think about me."
Without any warning, his lips crash down to mine. Eagerly devouring and claiming what is his. His slick tongue forced my cavern to open. "!!!" Without wasting any chance, he slipped into my mouth. "....nnn…" His slick muscle explore everything he can touch.
His scent, the familiar wisteria scent flooded all my senses. It makes my senses go into overdrive. I can't see, feel or smell anything except for him. I feel like drowning in his essence. My hands clench to a fists, grasping his clothes in my hand, making wrinkles on his perfectly ironed shirt. I stopped breathing some time ago, and now my brain is in need of oxygen. My hands are pushing him away to let me breathe.
"Breath through your nose, [Name]." He separated our lips to say that before he went back devouring it. His thumb is caressing my stomach, while the other is firmly around my waist, preventing me from escaping.
After what seemed like eternity, the kiss ceased. I pant for the much needed oxygen. My eyes watery and hot blush is coating my cheeks. The silvery string of broken saliva is the only evidence of that heated kiss, and the first evidence of many to come.
"Satoru…" I panted. My own pink muscle lolled out for him. I can clearly see every emotion he holds for me. Desire, lust, possessiveness, greed, gentleness and the glorified love. He wants to drown me in his essence and he will. "Satoru…"
"Hm?" His hand came up to hold my face. Thumb swiping my swollen lips.
"...please, be gentle with me."
And….I unknowingly set off the caged beast inside him.
Omake
How is the movie night is actually going.
First half of the story.
“Sa-Satoru, I am scared!” I clung to his arm tightly. We are sitting on the couch with sweets littered on the coffee table.
“Don’t worry, [Name]-chan. It’s not scary at all. You see, the protagonist will be stabbed by the ghost.” He grinned fully enjoying this,”
“Why are you spoiling the story?” I hit his arm.
Second half of the story.
“Satoru, will the ghost die or the heroine die?” I asked as I munched a pocky stick. Our position has changed. Somehow, I am now sitting between his legs, still on the couch.
“They will die together.” He grabbed my hand with pocky stick and moved it to his mouth.
“Satoru, take your own sweets.” I rolled my eyes.
Credits rolling.
I have fallen asleep in that position, not caring how the story ended or post credit scene. One good thing about Satoru is he is nice makeshift pillow. I vaguely heard a good night and a forehead kiss, before I completely fallen to deep sleep.
Sometimes being a teacher was hard. You had to make your own lesson plans, grade all the work you assign and make sure your students are well engaged enough to get it and want to ge there. Which they both knew, they really didn’t want to be there. So like any teacher, [Name] would always try to make her lesson plans fun and not give monumental loads of homework assigments and papers. Especially since the biggest class she taught was straight out of Mr. Tomioka’s P.E. class and he absolutely worked them to the bone.
[Name] sighed as she retired for the day after her last student left for extra help, and headed off to her favorite cafe to continue grading her papers. Not like she made them write a ten page essay or anything, but boy were these terrible. The headache already setting in as dragged herself out of her car and into her favorite coffee/tea shop.
The bell at the top of the door rang, signaling her presence as she made her way in. It was in that moment that she stepped through that her eyes grew double in size at the scene painted in front of her.
Mr.Tomioka sitting alone at one of the booths with possibly the biggest cup of green matcha ice cream, a dollop of whipped cream with the most cutesy sprinkle decorations. He was shamelessly stuffing his face as if it were his last meal. Melted green matcha melted from one corner of his mouth with sprinkles plastered on the other side. [Name] covered her mouth in complete and utter astonishment. She didn’t know whether to laugh, scream or cry.
Giyuu had felt as if someone was spying on him and low and behold, Miss.[Last Name] was peering down at him with the most bewildered expression on her face.
“Hello, Miss.[Last Name]. Odd seeing you here.” He spoke nonchalantly as he took another bite of his icecream. Giyuu was completely unbothered by her presence, mostly because it was a teacher and not a student who had interrupted his gluttonous guilty pleasure.
“I-I didn’t know you were such a sweeth tooth, Mr.Tomioka.” She stammered. [Name] really didn’t know how else to react to Giyuu just sitting deadpanned as he gazed up at her. It wasn’t too out of character for him since she had saw him munching on raisin bread on the staircase quite often. She made it a point to avoid him as to not embarrass him. His cerculean eyes bored into hers and it made her an ounce more self conscious. Did she have something on her face? Her teeth? Or worse a stain on her blouse?
“Yes, well, I do find myself coming here from time to time to relax after a long day at work.” His gaze shifted back to his mountain sized pile of icecream and took another large bite. She could’ve sworn he blushed as he did.
“You mind if I join you?” She asked almost timidly. Giyuu was intimidating to say the least. Well to [name] he was. His casual attitude always seemed to throw her off. He hummed in acknowledgement and she smiled as she slid in the booth across from him.
“Oh, I didn’t know you had a lady friend, Giyuu-kun~” A server who seemed to show up out of nowhere sang as she set the spoon down with a napkin. Giyuu froze at his name being said so informally in front of [name] and she was just as shocked to hear it.
He didn’t say anything as the server skipped away. It was so quiet that if a pin dropped you could hear it.
[Name] couldn’t help the laughter that erupted from her lips as she watched as Giyuu sulked in shame. “G-giyuu-kun?”
“Fine, maybe I come here everyday.” He muttered as he took another bite. Now he was miserable, but [name] shook off his embarrassment. She didn’t want to make him feel bad in his comfort zone.
“No, no. I was only teasing. It’s kind of nice that you come here and give this mom and pop your business.” She picked up her spoon and scooped a small part of the untouched side of his ice cream and hummed in delight when it reached her taste buds. Her tongue grazed across her lips and at the spoon again to lick it clean.
“Damn, that’s really good!” She cheered. Giyuu did not take his eyes off her lips for a single moment. He gulped his icecream too quickly causing him to have brain freeze. He groaned in pain as he held his head. [Name’s] expression quickly faltered into a state of panic as she watched his face contort in agony.
“Oh my gosh, are you okay?” The pain subsiding as he waved her off.
“Yes, I’m fine. Just brainfreeze. Anyways, what are you doing here?”
[Name] sighed as she pulled out the stack of papers from her bag and placed them on the table.
“Ah, essay season, I see. I saw Mr. Renguko with his stack earlier. He was buzzing right through them. Said they were all awful but he appreciated their ‘blazing’ efforts.”
[Name] laughed melodiously and it made Giyuu’s ears perk up in delight.
“That’s Mr. Renguko for ya, huh? Yeah, mine were pret-ty terrible, too. I don’t what’s gotten into them. It’s like every thing I teach goes through one ear and out the other.” Her spoon clinked against the glass again as she depressing grazed at the ice cream.
“Well, it is almost summer break and you do teach the upperclassmen. They’re probably having a case of senioritis.”
Giyuu mentally chuckled at thought of her upperclassmen students tripping over thin air when he asked them to run 10 laps around the gym.
“Are you smiling?” It just slipped out of her mouth. She hadn’t intended to let it, but she honestly couldn’t help it. It was the first time she had ever seen him look--happy and it was undeniably cute.
“I was just thinking of my upperclassmen tripping.” He didn’t bother hiding his smile at this point and it was glorious. [Name] found herself blushing at how heavenly he looked. Giyuu had seemed to caught wind of her staring at him in awe, and cleared his throat.
“Sorry,” [Name] abashedly spoke as she looked away. “I should probably go and get these finished.”
She started to get up to dismiss herself and gathered her papers after shamelessly gawking at him.
“You don’t have to leave. I could use the company.” Giyuu had worked up almost every nerve to let those words flow out. She was nonplussed at his words.
“Y-you sure?”
“Yeah, maybe I can help with those papers.”
“I’d like that.”
[Name] smiled as she sat back down and he held out his hand to take the stack of papers from her hands. Giyuu’s face quickly twisted in contempt as he skimmed over the first paper.
“This is ass.”
Her eyes dilated at his choice of words and he realized that he let his guard down.
“I mean it is.” [Name] laughed loudly at his brash statement. She didn’t know he was such a clown.
“There’s like zero sentence structure and no punctuation. Also, they’re using run on sentences.” He pointed to the the first few paragraphs. Her eyes twinkled at his sudden sharpness.
“Oh, you’re right! Thank you, Mr. Tomioka. I didn’t think you’d be so good at catching these mistakes.” Giyuu felt his face fluster at her flattering remark.
“Well, I did say I could help you.”
She gazed up from her student’s work to Giyuu’s ice cream coated lips. It didn’t make him any less dreamy to her because all she wanted to do in that moment was use her finger to lap up the remains and swirl her tongue around her finger. And for once [name] let her intrusive thoughts win. She murmured in delight. It tasted even sweeter coming from his lips. The look of disbelief on his face as the heat rushed to his face.
“You’re sweeter than candy, Mr.Tomioka.”
[Name’s] face faltered along side Giyuu’s at the realization that she wasn’t living in her head, but that she had in fact, really done it. Giyuu wiped his mouth with the stack of napkins besides him, wondering how and why he deserved something so delightfully embarassing.
“I’m so sorry--I”
“You should be.” He put his napkin down. “You could’ve told me that I had ice cream on my face.”
[Name] didn’t know whether she should have felt humiliated or not at that point. Did he just completely miss the part where she just indirectly licked ice cream off his face or...?
“So, back to the papers.”
“Ah, y-yeah. The papers!” [Name] scrambled for a moment handing him a small stack. “You work on these to start out and I’ll get started on these.”
Giyuu tried his best to dismiss the trembling from his hand as he took small heap from her hands. His heart beating out of his chest as he kept his cool demeanor from slipping.
“We should do this more often.” He said it without thinking (head empty head ahhh).
[Name] visibly relaxed when those words left his mouth. She didn’t expect him to even help her, but now he was practically asking her to hang out with him more. She flashed him a big smile that made his heart skip a beat.
“That would be a big help, Mr. Tomioka. Thank you.”
He looked down to hide his agitated state.
“Don’t mention it.”
Aged 14, sometime in September.
Mason Anderson was the biggest dick she had ever met. He was petty and jealous and he picked on her just because. She just wanted peace, quietly resolving the homework she had spent an entire week working on. The library was empty, safe for a couple of other students when he barged in and robbed her of her papers.
He claimed he needed it more than her, he was the one almost flunking out of the class. She demanded her homework back, but he ran towards the boy’s bathroom with her work. It wasn’t the first time that sullen feeling of despair had been planted on her by Mason Anderson, it still didn’t make it any easier.
She sat in front of the boys bathroom, hugging her knees in an attempt to find comfort. She kept thinking that she could do it again, she had done it once, theoretically it would be faster to do it a second time. Light footsteps echoed through the hall, her eyes found their way to the source of the noise.
Jason Todd was a tiny kid with a big brain and an even bigger heart. He had helped her with English more times than she cared to admit. Sometimes she would see him walking towards the alley near the Academy, holding an extra package of chips to the little kid that stayed there sometimes. She liked Jason Todd, considering him the only alley she had inside the cold walls of the Gotham Academy.
“What’re you doing here?” he asked, delicately, sitting beside her. “I thought you were gonna finish Statam’s paper today.”
“Mason Anderson stole it,” her eyes were cast downwards, looking at the seams of the floor with an almost inhuman interest. “He wanted to copy it, and I wouldn’t let him so he decided to flush down the toilet instead.”
“I’m sorry,” he muttered to her, sitting next to her on the floor.
“It’s okay,” she shook her head, stretching her legs in front of her. “I just,” she sighed, trying to find the words, “I spent one week working on that, and I really needed the grade, you know? But he just didn’t care, he just thought of himself.”
Jason looked at her, softly. His eyes held a certain fire behind them, something she could never really describe what it was. It was entrancing, it calmed the pace of her heart. He didn’t say anything before getting up and marching towards the boys bathroom.
She didn’t hear anything going on inside, her mind imagining all sorts of scenarios where Jason would emerge from the bathroom beaten and defeated, Mason walking out completely victorious, with a shiny top grade Literature paper in hand. Her blood boiled at the image, more so than it did before. She got up from the ground, determined to help Jason win the fight, even if her papers were already down the plumbing.
But the door flung open, her friend walking out calmly, clutching her homework delicately. He offered her a smile, and as the door closed behind Jason she could see Mason on the ground gripping his nose in pain.
“Here,” the papers were completely dry to the touch, her confusion deepening. “He was copyin’ it.”
“I can’t believe you got this back,” she whispered, shaking her head in disbelief. “I thought… I thought I'd have to redo it.”
“Nah,” he smiled shyly, “I would’ve helped ya.”
“I can’t really depend on you for everything, Jason,” she replied politely. “It’s not fair.”
“I got your back,” he affirmed, “ya don’t need to worry.”
And it meant the world to her that he did.
Aged 16, October 12th.
Jason Todd and her became friends after the Mason Anderson incident. She didn’t know what Jason had said to him, what had he done, all she knew was that Mason never bothered her again after that.
It was the night of her 16th birthday. It was late, probably past 3 in the morning when Jason carefully landed on the fire escape that led to her bedroom. He carefully carried a small box, wrapped neatly with a blue bow. He had chosen the gift lovingly, his heart warm with her. Jason hadn’t expected her to be such an integral part of his life, but just as quietly as she arrived, she placed herself in his heart permanently. She was his friend, true friend, she didn’t expect anything other than his company and support, something he was glad to provide.
His knuckles lightly grazed her window, making the softest noise. Her shades were partially open, he could see her body lying comfortably on her bed. She moved slightly, her body turning towards the window. Her hands rubbed her eyes delicately, seeing Jason smile awkwardly at her. She got up and dragged her feet towards him, opening her window to him.
“What’re you doing here?” her voice was slurred, intoxicated with sleep.
“You know, you should really lock your windows,” he commented, “Gotham’s a dangerous city.”
“Jay,” she warned, “what’re you doing here? It’s…”she searched for her clock, “fuck, 3 in the morning.”
“It’s your birthday,” he responded clearly, as if it was the most obvious reason why he was on her fire escape, on a cold October night only wearing a light jacket.
She blinked at his blunt response, confused on what to say to him. “You’ll see me tomorrow, Jay, I don’t understand why’d you come all this way just to see me.”
“Because it’s you,” he shrugged, stepping into her bedroom silently. “You really thought I wouldn’t see you on your birthday?”
“I don’t know,” she whispered, looking down at her feet. A soft breeze came in through the window sending shivers down her spine. Jason closed the window for her and she sent a silent thank you towards his way. “I thought you wouldn’t bother.”
“Well,” he extended the little box to her. Her fingers brushed on his softly, a shock sent on his skin at the touch, “I couldn’t not see you.”
Her hands hugged the box carefully, hesitant on what to do with what was given to her. “Open it,” he urged her.
She eyed him suspiciously, undoing carefully the blue bow that decorated the gift. Opening the box, a tiny robin pendant next to two tiny stones pendants, an opal and an onyx: her birthstone and his. “Wow,” she breathed out, her heart racing inside her chest. Suddenly, she didn’t feel sleepy anymore. “Jason, this is… You didn’t have to.”
“Of course I had,” he stated, his eyes soft and loving, lingering on her more than they should. “You mean a lot to me, darling.”
Her eyes glinted underneath the pale moonlight streaming through the half closed curtains of her room. Jason’s breath hitched quietly at the sight of her, disheveled and sleepy and yet the most perfect person to grace his life. She was at a loss for words for a few moments, opening and closing her mouth, not knowing how to react. Her eyes trailed frenetically over the pendants, trying to find meaning in those.
“Why a robin?” the inquiry startled Jason. He wasn’t expecting to explain himself, much less explain why he had given her a robin pendant. She had no clue what he did when the night fell, who Bruce actually was and he intended to keep her in the dark about that aspect of his life. She didn’t need to know anyway, and telling her would only put her in danger. That was what Bruce made her believe.
“It reminded me of you,” he answered, simply, his eyes fixated on her angelic face.
It wasn’t untrue. Robins were friendly and protected over, birds that should never be harmed. Jason made sure of that, he had her back, always, and he knew she had his. But mostly, he wanted her to have a piece of him everywhere she went. If something were to happen, he wanted to guarantee he wouldn’t be a footnote in her life. What a magnificent life that would be, he knew.
Her eyes ran on his face, looking for a hint that he wasn’t sincere, that he was just messing with her. The thought was more heartbreaking than she anticipated. She found nothing malicious in his face, in his eyes, and smiled back at him. “Thank you, Jay,” she kissed his cheek delicately, her lips barely brushing his skin. It was enough to send both of them into a frenzy of feelings, a thousand thoughts running through their heads.
“Here,” he extended his hands, his eyes clear and full of emotion for her, “I’ll put it on for you.”
She handed him the box, turning around so he could clasp the hook of the necklace. Jason was considerably smaller than her - she guessed it was because of the years of malnutrition he endured when he lived on the streets - so she sat on her bed to meet his height. His fingers brushed slightly at the back of her neck, sending goosebumps on her body.
It was when she turned to look at him again that she realized that maybe Jason wasn’t just a friend to her. Maybe the interest she had in Jason, or how her heart raced when she saw him for the first time in the day weren’t because he was her friend. Maybe it was because she had decided to love him with all her soul.
Aged 16, April 28th.
It was ironic how sunny it was in Gotham that day. It was like nothing had happened, the world hadn’t gotten the memo that it was supposed to be gloomy and sad outside, to match the pain she felt inside.
On the deep green grass of Gotham cemetery, stood her and Jason’s family, listening to a priest preach something meaningless to her. Nothing mattered to her anymore, her friend, best friend, was buried deep into the earth, 6 feet under. She would never get to see him again, hear his laugh, take in his smile. She would never have another birthday with him, give him his favorite books, tell him she loved him. Her eyes were fixed on the fresh dirt lain over his shiny coffin, her hand fidgeting on the robin pendant Jason had gifted mer months before. It wasn’t an open casket, she couldn’t even see him for the last time.
The call was the most confusing moment she had ever gone through. He didn't even tell her he was going after his mom. He didn’t even get to explain that to her. Jason just burst through her window late at night, saying he was leaving Gotham for a few weeks, anger seeping through his pores and contaminating the room. His knuckles were badly bruised, as her fingertips lightly brushed he hissed. She didn’t question him, it didn’t even go through her head. He had said he wanted to find a part of him, and she nodded, wishing him luck.
Looking back, she wished she had begged him to stay, to find that part of him in Gotham, with her away from the perils of foreign bombs. Tears sprouted in her eyes as the thought passed through her head. It wasn’t her fault, she couldn’t predict a tragedy would have happened. It had become a mantra to her, and sometimes repeating it to herself didn’t help at all.
Bruce Wayne stood next to her, stoic, his face stony. It almost didn’t look like he had lost a son. But she saw how his jaw tensed, how it was similar to when Jason was upset and didn’t want to tell her about it. She could see how broken he was inside, how angry and desperate. She felt that too.
The priest stopped talking and the four people standing on that lawn let out a stuck breath of relief. Jason’s brother approached his Father, walking away from her. She stared at the stone, cold like Jason’s body, with the engrave ‘Jason Todd, beloved son and friend’. It didn’t make justice to what Jason actually was, he was much more than just a son and a friend, but it was what they used to describe him. If Jason had decided what his epitaph would be, surely would be a dramatic quote from Shakespeare.
Her name was called out in a posh british accent and she turned toward the person. What she saw was an older gentleman, holding a black umbrella to protect his baldness from the sun. A thin mustache hung over his upper lip, molded into a sad frown. “I’m Alfred Pennyworth. Master Jason talked a lot about you,” he commented with his left hand behind his back.
“All good things, I hope?” she joked quietly, her eyes trailed to her black shoes, wet grass glued to the sides of it.
“The best things, I assure,” his voice was firm and calm, his accent oozed her security, something she was eager to cling on. He reached for the inner pocket of his blazer, pulling a crisp white card. She furrowed her eyebrows, accepting the card. On it, it had Alfred’s name, his profession underneath and a phone number. “If you ever find yourself needing anything, I’ll be happy to help.”
She nodded, her thumb lightly brushing the expensive paper on her hand. “Thank you Mister Pennyworth,” her eyes found the old man, the wrinkles around it making his stern stance seem gentler. “Thank you.”
“Would you like to come over for some tea?” he offered. “I’m sure Master Bruce wouldn’t mind having his son’s friend over.”
She wanted to, a force inside her compelled her to accept his offer. But her heart was broken, and she didn’t know if she was ready to enter what used to be Jason’s home so fast after he was buried. At the same time, maybe she didn’t have the nerve to say no to such a kind person. “I--,” she hesitated, “okay, I’ll have some tea.”
Aged 18, mid-August.
“I don’t know what to do, Alfred,” her hands fiddling with the necklace Jason had given her long ago. “It feels like I’m at a crossroads and every sign points to the direction my heart doesn’t want to go.”
The old butler poured her mint tea - her favorite, as he had learned over the weekly visits she paid him - calmly and firmly as she ranted. “What is holding you back?”
She looked at Alfred, her eyes confused at the question. She hadn’t lingered on the fact of why she didn’t want to accept the scholarship on Metropolis. Her brain told her it was only logical, she would miss her parents, her weekly meeting with Alfred, her hometown. But Alfred was always one step ahead, he had a sixth sense as she had come to learn. “You know,” she replied softly, her eyes lingering on the beautiful teacup in front of her.
He said her name, getting her attention. “Master Jason isn’t here anymore,” he stated simply, laying cookies on her plate, “you don’t have to stay behind for him.”
“I know,” she picked up the spoon and twirled it between her fingers. “But,” she hesitated, not knowing how to phrase her feelings, “Alfred, I can’t even think of it. I can’t wrap my brain around leaving him.”
“You are not leaving him,” his voice was calm and gentle, softening her panic. “You are moving on.”
She shook her head, her eyes shut close tightly. “It doesn’t feel like it,” she whispered, “I feel like I’m meant to be here, Alfred. I can’t really explain it.”
“Well, if you do decide to stay in Gotham, I hope we can continue our weekly teas,” Alfred said, a tone of hope in his voice.
She smiled at him, her eyes filled with kindness. “If I do decide to stay, I’d love to keep our weekly teas,” her smile stayed as she uttered the words. “I appreciate our time together, Alfred.”
“I’m honored,” he said to her, bringing the teacup to his lips.
Heavy footsteps sounded behind her and she turned around to see who it was. Turning around, her hand bringing the teacup to her lips, she saw a disheveled Bruce Wayne walking towards her. His eyes were barely opened, prominent bags under his eyes cast a shadow on his features. His tie hung untied on his neck, his shirt over his pants, the sleeves folded up to his elbows. It was a stark contrast from the Bruce Wayne she had seen at Jason's funeral, two years back, the one she saw frequently splattered on the news front pages.
“Oh,” he stopped on his tracks, his hands falling limply to his sides. His jaw tensed and, suddenly, a mask fell on his face, the vulnerability he displayed a few seconds before gone. He wasn’t anymore Bruce, a guy who had just woken up and wanted something from the kitchen of his oversized home, he was the Bruce Wayne, now. The velocity of the transformation haunted her. “I didn’t realize we had visitors.”
She rested the teacup pack on the counter, and got up from the stool. “I’m so sorry Mr. Wayne,” she muttered, extending her hand, introducing herself. “I am, was, Jason’s friend.”
“Yes, yes,” he nodded, “I remember you.”
Alfred looked pointenly at Bruce as pulled a mug from a cabinet. He poured coffee for himself, and leaned against the counter next to Alfred. She stood there next to her stool, paralyzed in his presence. Everytime she was present in Wayne Manor, Bruce was either too busy to ever grace them with his presence, or away on some business trip she never bothered to ask what for. “We have weekly teas, Master Bruce,” Alfred said, his tone laced with something deeper than announcing their weekly traditions.
Bruce’s jaw tightened somehow and his blue eyes rested on her. Her eyes drifted to her teacup, her tea getting cold. She was itching to grab it and drink it, but she felt uncomfortable even moving a inch from her place, much less feeling the liberty to resume her previous behavior. “Really?” his eyebrows shot up, his head tilting slightly. “Please, seat, pretend I’m not here.”
She hesitated before sitting back down. Her hands hugged her teacup, the warmth of it seeping through her skin. It was hard to pretend he was not there next to her, looking at her with judging eyes. She wondered if he remembered her from the funeral, if he had thought of her when he was thinking of Jason’s legacy, what his son had left behind. Her eyes looked up at Bruce before quickly darting back down to her tea, “Yeah, I don’t really wanna go to Metropolis,” she whispered, resuming her previous conversation with Alfred. The air in the kitchen was tense and awkward, she couldn’t look any of them men in the room in the eyes.
“I’m certain Gotham U will admit you,” Alfred reassured her, “You’re a brilliant person, they’d be fools to let you go.”
“Thank you, Alfred,” her eyes were focused on the tea, like it was the most important thing in that kitchen. “They usually don’t take this long to send the letters, it’s making me nervous.”
“Gotham U, huh?” Bruce chipped in. “What’s your major?”
She looked expantly at Alfred, trying to see if he knew any of Bruce’s intentions. But she often forgot how impassive Alfred was, how in control of his emotions he was, something she lacked. He didn’t show her anything, she assumed he knew of something, like usually. “Applied physics,” she responded, quietly.
“Wow,” Bruce breathed out, “impressive.”
She offered him an awkward smile in return. It was hard to find a response to the reaction of others when they became aware of her major. It was highly uncommon, and usually those who followed that path were men. When people discovered what she wanted to do with her life, they almost always reacted like they had found an unicorn.
“Well, when you do graduate, look for me, I can help you get a job,” Bruce politely offered, his tone kind. She looked up at him for the first time, his expression almost fatherly.
“Thank you Mr. Wayne, that’s very kind of you,” she bored her head, looking down at her tea once again.
His phone rang, and he picked it up from his pocket. Her eyes trailed over to his expression, his jaw once again tense. “You’re welcome,” he replied, feigning happiness and comfort. “If you’ll excuse me,” he left the kitchen in broad steps, his shoulders tense and determined.
That was the first time she came to the conclusion that Bruce Wayne was a strange man.
Aged 22, end of May.
College was an excruciating experience, but finally she had left it all behind. With her diploma in hands, she finally felt a small semblance of freedom, something she had longed when isinde the four walls of her old dorm in Gotham U.
She stepped into the ground floor of Wayne towers, her shoes clicking nervously on the floor. She had made sure to dress properly to meet Bruce Wayne, unsure of what he’d think if she showed up dressed like a broke college student, something that she very much was. It was the mentality of fake it till you make it, aim a bit higher and maybe you’ll get there. She desperately wished she’d get there.
One of the receptionists let her in, indicating the floor in which she should go to. Her hands sweat gripping the folder with her recommendations and her resume, she gulped looking at the elevator intently. Her free hand found its way to the tiny robin gently resting on her neck. She wished Jason was there to help her, give her tips on what to say to his Father to make him glad, and what to avoid doing so that he’d hire her. She could imagine him if she closed her eyes, next to her, barely taller than her, smiling at her wishing her good luck. The elevator dinged, bringing her back to reality. Jason wasn’t next to her, and she didn’t have anyone to give her tips on what to say to her potential boss. She was alone, just like she had been for six long years.
In spite of the hundred floors of the building - quite literally - the elevator ride was fast. When the doors opened, it revealed a small greeting room, with a couple of couches and a tall window illuminating it. She eyed directly in front of her, the double doors with a tiny plaque with the name Bruce Wayne engraved on it. Her eyes lingered on it for a couple of moments, as she walked towards the lonesome couch next to the big window. She took a deep breath, trying to calm the beating heart. She wondered if Bruce was already inside the room, if he remembered what he had offered to her all those years ago, or if he had just been polite and did not plan on following with it at all.
After that strange meeting with him four years back, she had barely seen him again. A couple of times she had seen a shadow passing through the corridors while she was heading out of the Manor, someone she assumed for the sake of her mental health it was Bruce Wayne and not a ghost. The notion that he was a strange man only intensified, adding the perception that he was hiding something. She knew he was a good actor, but she could see tiny cracks and slips, an ability gained from years of loneliness. It was hard to say what it was that he was keeping a secret from everyone, but there was something there.
Her name was called and she saw Bruce Wayne standing underneath the frame of the double doors that lead to his office. She got up promptly and walked towards him, her grip on her folder tight. His hand was extended and she shook it professionally, pretending like she wasn’t panicking inside.
“I have someone I’d like for you to meet,” he stated, guiding her inside his office. The office was probably four times bigger than the small room she had stayed previously, the large windows providing a beautiful view from Gotham. You could almost pretend it was a normal city looking out from that window. “This,” he motioned to the man sitting on a cozy nook in the back of the room, “is Lucius Fox.”
The man was big and well built, his round glasses standing on the tip of his nose. He smiled at her, crinkles forming beside his eyes. His hand found his glasses, taking them off and putting them in his pocket. “Nice to meet you, Miss. mr. Wayne has talked a lot about you,” he stated, his hand extended for her to take it.
She looked back at Bruce, confused. After all, he remembered her and he remembered his offer. She turned back to Lucius and shook his hand, a determined expression on her face. “Nice to meet you, Mr. Fox.”
“Lucius Fox is the head of our R&D department, and has agreed to take you as his personal apprentice,” Bruce explained.
Shock overcame her, her eyes wide. She looked between Lucius’ kind smile and Bruce’s stoic stance, unable to believe the opportunity was real. “Really?” she uttered incredulously.
“I have some personal projects and I’d very much need the help,” Lucius explained, calmly. “Mr. Wayne has talked highly of you, I’m eager to see what you’re capable of doing.”
“I--,” she shook her head, trying to get rid of the hesitation, “thank you, sir.”
“You’re welcome,” Bruce responded, a small smile gracing his lips. “I’m sure you’ll do great.”
Aged 24, April 26th.
The humid air of the cave made sweat drip down her face as she tinkered away with a broken gadget she had designed for Bruce’s night time activities, as she had so dearly called it.
It was a new development, the cave and the capes and the vigilantism. The two years she invested working with Lucius all served a greater purpose to Bruce. She was to be the next Lucius Fox, help provide Batman, or rather Bruce - in her head it was still confusing to assume that the guy who had given her a job was the ‘Dark Knight’ - with gadgets capable of doing everything that his physical capabilities couldn’t. Lucius was old and reaching retirement, and even if he loved his job, he was reaching his limit. She was beyond grateful for his guidance, she had learned so much. But he had left her a fucking weird job. There was no other way to describe it.
The cave was quiet, Bruce had left sometime before, she could only hear Alfred quietly talking to Bruce through the comms and the drip-drip of water falling from the ceiling and hitting the small lake underneath her. She had settled in a little abandoned nook, her tools all scattered on top of her table. She rested the screw driver she was working with on the table, lifting the magnifying lens. She rubbed her face, tired of looking towards the tiny malfunctioning screen.
Her hands remained on her face, concealing her emotions. The robin pendant always felt especially heavy on the 26th of April. It had been 8 years since she had seen Jason, and as pathetic as it sounded, she never really got over the loss of him. They always felt particularly lost, she couldn’t focus on anything other than him, running circles around any problem presented to her. Looking at the gadget, it felt nearly impossible to find a solution to it, her mind foggy with sadness and grief that she could never really shake off, even with years between her and the day he had died.
The knowledge that Bruce kept everything as Jason had left, and even made a little homage to his Robin days in a secret corner of the cave, hidden from view, was heavy in her heart. She struggled to keep her eyes trailed to her task and not at the memory of Jason. She took a sharp breath, trying desperately to sew herself together. It was truly pathetic how much it still affected her, how open the wound still was.
A sharp motor sound echoed through the walls of the cave, disturbing the few bats that hung from the ceiling. A guy built like a fucking brick wall parked his bike on the platform, taking long strides towards where Alfred stood. He adorned a cracked red helmet that glistened in the white lights that illuminated the pathway. His heavy footsteps echoed through, her eyes unable to escape from him. She approached silently, praying that that loose panel near the little stairs that lead to the main computer wouldn’t scratch underneath her weight.
“Where the fuck is Bruce?” he growled, his hands balled into fists next to him. His leather jacket was worn and old, its sleeves bunched up near his elbow, exposing his veiny forearms. The cracked part of the helmet revealed his blue eyes, sparkling in a familiar way. It tugged her heartstrings, her hand instinctively went to her robin. It couldn’t be, Jason was dead.
“He’s on patrol, Master Jason,” Alfred said calmly, his eyes trailed to the screens in front of him. Alfred acted like this man’s fits of anger were completely normal.
Her brain repeated that it wasn’t Jason, it was a mere coincidence that this man’s name was the same as her dead best friend’s. Jason was a tiny and scrawny kid, he wasn’t tall and thick like this man. Jason wasn’t bitter and prone to anger fits, even if he was angry most of the time. He was silent and kind and sweet, this man looked to be the opposite of it.
“He promised, Alfred, where is he?” he growled, his fist slamming on the table. “He fucking promised.”
“I’m sure he’ll arrive soon, if you’d like to wait,” Alfred motioned to the medical bay, the gurney sitting there on its lonesome. The man huffed, marching to the gurney, otherwise ignoring her presence a few feet away.
She approached Alfred quietly. “Who was that?” her voice laced with curiosity and fear.
Alfred looked at her serenely, knowing something she didn’t. He smiled at her, teh crinkles around his eyes appearing generously. “Why don’t you find out?,” he responded to her camly.
She took it as an order, and made her way towards the small infirmary area. Her footsteps were light and determined, her hand clutching the robbing resting on her chest tightly. Her brain ran over scenarios on how likely it was that this person had almost every physical attribute to her best friend Jason, if he had taken steroids for the past 8 years. It wasn’t likely, but in light of her new knowledge, of how close the supernatural was to her, it was very much possible.
“Do you want me to take a look?” she asked quietly, shifting the weight from her heels to the tips of her toes. She felt so small in his presence, something she didn’t feel with Bruce, oddly. Maybe it was because Bruce didn’t give off such menacing vibes when he was near her, or maybe it was because her brain was unconsciously comparing this man to her Jason, who had always been smaller than her. “At the helmet, I mean.”
He eyed her surgically, analyzing everything about her. His eyes rested on her pendants, widening slightly in recognition. It took almost everything in her to control her beating heart, to control her brain trying to say that in fact that man before her was her Jason, and it wasn’t her brain playing tricks on her.
He gently took his helmet off, revealing his crisp black hair cooly laying on his forehead. His eyes focused on the helmet, his arms extended to give it to her gently. Her eyes would leave his face, a face she had longed to see for eight excruciatingly long years. His eyes had remained the same, after all: kind and sweet. His face, however, told a story of hardships and pain, hardened by whatever he had been through all these years. She didn’t know how to feel, if she should feel betrayed he hadn't trusted her enough to say that he was alive, that he was six feet under anymore, or if she should feel elated that Jason was alive and she could finally tell him all the things she wanted to.
Her fingers brushed him slightly, as she picked up the broken helmet from his hands. His hands still felt the same, her heart noticed, picking up a beat. She looked at the crack that exposed half of his face, the electrical parts fizzling dangerously. Her eyes focused on Jason once again, her lips shut painfully. The tears that came to her eyes were inevitable, trembling fingers reaching at her robin pendant, clutching it tightly. “I’m so sorry,” she whispered.
“Don’t,” he shook his head gently, “it’s not your fault.”
She could see he wanted to touch her, but something held him back. She wouldn’t find out what until much later.
Aged 24, August 16th.
Jason had promised her he would show up, and he never broke his promises. That was what she repeated to herself, late at night. She had prepared everything for his birthday, bought a present for him and baked a cake. She had said that he was supposed to appear at seven. It was well past midnight, the cake had found its way back to the fridge, the present was back in her closet, and he hadn’t showed up yet.
A part of her kept telling her to give up, her best friend had stood her up: Jason changed fundamentally, he wasn’t the same boy he was when she met him and it was foolish to hang on to that notion; it was perfectly plausible that he had the habit of breaking promises now. But she was well aware of that, she saw it in the tiny things how much Jason was transformed, it still didn’t change the fact that she knew he valued loyalty above all else, and that included loyalty to his words. He wouldn’t break his promise to her.
She changed out of the cute dress she was wearing, feeling foolish and sad that she was about to give up most of the hope that he would show up. Her pyjamas welcomed her comfortably, a safe space to let the heartbreak settle on her. He won’t break his promise, she repeated mentally, he won’t. The mantra did little to soothe the growing dread inside her, the notion that maybe she didn’t know him as well as she did. That he didn’t tell her everything that day, that he didn’t trust her anymore. It hurt more than she anticipated.
Sleep was almost consuming her when she heard a loud clang outside her bedroom. She shook awake, throwing the covers off her instinctively. Her hand grabbed the baseball bat that rested beside her bed, bringing it up and close to her. With slow steps, she approached the window. Her fear settled when she saw the familiar red helmet staring back at her, begging to let him in. She dropped the bat on the floor, opening the window.
He got in her room awkwardly, struggling to pass his huge frame through a tiny space. She reached to help him, offering her hands. He took them, butterflies running amok on her tummy. “You’re late,” she commented, trying to mask the hurt in her voice.
“I know,” he said, taking off his helmet and dropping it on top of her bed. “I’m sorry.”
She hummed looking at him underneath the moonlight seeping through her window. She hadn’t gotten used to how big he became, and how smaller she felt in his presence. She was by no means a small woman, but his entire being could encapsulate her with a simple hug, and not the other way around like it used to be. “Why are you late?” she moved to sit on the bed, the helmet rolling off the bed delicately.
He looked at her, sitting down next to her gently. “I don’t know,” he answered, rubbing his hands together, his elbows resting on his thighs.
“Why do I feel like you’re not being honest with me?” her head tilted, looking at his beautiful profile. There was a scar connecting his right temple to the corner of his upper lip, and it made him even more beautiful than he already was. He fascinated her to no end, his brain, his looks, his entire being was what made her keep going, the light on the end of her tunnel.
His eyes trailed over her face, looking for something she guessed he wouldn’t find. “Why are you always so nice to me?”
“What do you mean, Jason,” she breathed out, confused at the inquiry. “I’m your friend, I’m supposed to be nice to you.”
“No, you’re not,” he shook his head, his hands balled into fists and his eyes closed. “You’re not supposed to be kind to me,” he got up, his back towards her.
“Stop it, Jason, you’re scaring me,” she whispered, her voice shaking a bit.
“You’re supposed to be angry at me. I abandoned you, left you alone, and when I came back I didn’t tell you, I didn’t look for you,” he continued, trying to manipulate her emotions.
“Why are you saying these things, Jason, they’re not true,” she got up, her voice no longer shaking, determined and focused.
“Because I don’t deserve it,” he turned to her, his eyes tortured and sad. “I don’t deserve your kindness and friendship. I’m not worthy of it.”
“Jay, I--” she started, but Jason interrupted her.
“Don’t, please. I’m not worthy of anyone’s love,” his voice was heavy with emotion. She discovered that Jason was often ruled by two main emotions: sadness and anger. In that moment, she could only see those in him and a part of her broke.
“That’s not true, you’re worthy of mine,” her voice was so honest and raw, it caught Jason by surprise. She didn’t know what he expected out of her at that moment, maybe to give in to his spiral of bad thoughts and self flagellation, but she refused to let him believe those awful things. “Jason, you really don't know?”
He remained in silence, his eyes wide and shocked, focused on the ground. His jaw was tense and his hands balled into fists tightly. She took a hesitant step towards him, reaching for his hands. They relaxed under her touch and she threaded her fingers through his. It wasn’t hard to notice how perfectly they fit with each other, like to halves of a whole. “I’ve loved you ever since I was 14 and you marched into the boys bathroom to get my lit homework back from Mason Anderson,” she whispered, her eyes focused on his face, while his were focused on their hands together. “I’m sorry I didn’t say it before, I’m so sorry it took me so long to say it, Jay. But I can’t let you believe all those horrible things you said. Not when I love you more than anything in this world.”
He stayed silent for a couple of moments, her heart beating erratically inside her chest, fearing she had screwed up their friendship for good. In a way, it was worst to know he was out there and didn't want to speak to her because she dared to tell him about her love for him. “Please say something,” she begged him quietly.
His eyes finally found hers, his hands breaking the link they formed. He rested his hands on her cheeks gently, and she dared say, lovingly. Her heart started beating excitedly, the fear slowly dissipating as his gaze got more intense.
His lips brushed against hers, her eyes fluttering closed at the contact. He kissed her gently, a love delicate and fragile, just acknowledged between them both. His grip on her was firm, his thumb grazing delicately on her cheekbones. Her hands thread through his soft hair, still slightly humid from the sweat caused by the helmet. The air was charged with want, tentative kiss toeing the line between what it was and something more.
She wished to stay like that forever. She prayed to whatever was out there in the Universe, to allow her that happiness. To stay kissing her love tentatively in the dark for as long as she could, as long as he’d let her.
Jason broke the kiss, his forehead resting on hers. His fingers found their way to the back of her head, cupping it softly. “I love you,” he whispered, his lips almost brushing with hers. She reached for his lips once again, like a magnet finding its match. “I love you so much,” he reassured.
They kissed once again, not intending to break apart any time soon.
Chapter 1: Caleb Widogast Wants to be in a Purple People Sandwich
Caleb Widogast was just harmlessly sitting in the bar of Yasha and Beauregard Lionett. He had met Beau during university she worked with the Cobalt Soul during the day and ran a gay bar with her wife at night. Caleb had just finished lesson planning for his next classes, working at the Soltryce Academy was both a blessing and a pain. The teenagers he was teaching were bright minds but his fuzzy stain ridden cardigan and four shots of espresso because marking their transmutation homework was a bitch.
“Hey Caleb how’s it going,” Beau asked, her hands on the metal tin of a shaker.
“Good, tired… The Martinet has been up my ass about marking the finals for a class that isn’t even my own. I could use a distraction,” he sighed.
“Well good news for you bud Yash has some friends who are moving to town, I think one is going to be here tonight.”
As Beau said that the door of the bar flung open with a streak of maroon and holographic panelling entered the bar with the sound of like ten jingling bells.
“YASHA! LOVE?! ARE YOU HERE!?”
The voice was bright and joyous, lilting with a pure and radiant sunlight energy. They brightened the room not just with the reflection of the leds from the reflective material on their coat. Caleb felt the warm energy wash over him. His face both brightened in this person’s mere presence but also blushed profusely as a lavender tiefling with the most dazzling eyes he had ever seen. Red like the deepest, most sparkling rubies. Caleb immediately turned to Beau trying to hide his blushing face from the room.
“Beauregard. Who. Is. That?”
Beau laughed, punching Caleb hard on the shoulder, “That’s Molly. Been friends with Yash since they were kids. Fucking asshole but good people.”
“I heard my name,” the voice sang, walking closer and swinging their legs over a seat next to Caleb at the bar.
“Hey obnoxious one,” Beau smiled.
“Unpleasant one, how have you been treating our angel?”
“Like a gods damned national treasure, what else Tealeaf?! Oh shit you should meet Caleb, this nerd here,” she said pointing to Caleb, “is like my brother. He works at Soltryce but trust me he’s nothing like the fucks there.”
“Well pleased to meet you Caleb, Mollymauk Tealeaf. Molly to my friends and any friend of my quippy pseudo-sister in law is a friend of mine,” they smiled, fangs glinting in the orange bar light.
Caleb stammered out a response, “It is a pl-pleasure to meet you Mollymauk.”
——————
The next day Caleb woke up incredibly hungover but buzzing with a warm happy feeling in his chest.
Beau had decided to join them for drinks later in the evening, letting Marius work behind the bar, it wasn’t that busy anyway. He spent that night drinking and talking to Molly and listening to Beau curse out dickheads who were being gross to people at the bar and a few bar fights.
He learned that Molly was one of three siblings, the middle one of course was him. They used he/they pronouns and worked as a tarot card reader on the side of being a moderately successful artist. He used to work at a daycare in the town that they had moved from. He had met Yasha early in their childhood. It was a very pleasant conversation Caleb and Molly trading stories about the kids they had met.
——————
Caleb sat again at the bar, Beau pushed a bottle of cold beer across the table. He had a particularly hard day, the Marient had been hovering around his class and harassing students about his lessons that he had to go to Headmaster Margolin to literally kick the Martinet out of his general vicinity. He took a long swig of beer, this was probably his fifth drink of the night and he had not eaten at all and he had drunk some with Veth after classes so he was getting progressively hammered. He heard the door swing open accompanied by familiar jingles and chatter of multiple people.
Caleb sloughed into the bar, he was most certainly drunk. He looked passingly at Molly who was wearing the signature maroon coat but a black mesh shirt with moons and stars dappled across the sleeves and strangely striped shorts.
——————
“Beauregard, Beau how do I ask Mollymauk to let me spoil them,” Caleb was doing a weird half whisper towards Beau, his face was incredibly flush.
Beau gave her pseudo older brother a look as she saw Molly curled up in Essek’s lap, “You can ask if their poly but his current partner is kind of fucking intimidating.”
“Who is their partner,” Caleb asked, a brief wave of melancholy hitting his face.
Beau grabbed his face and directed it to the both in the back where Jester, Fjord, Essek, and Molly were sitting.
“The drow he is literally draped over, Essek is a research professor at the University he just got transferred to the dunamancy department.”
——————
Caleb’s eyes were filled with figurative stars looking at the two. Essek had snow white hair that flipped adorably in front of his violet eyes. He had a more plum colouration to his skin than Molly who was lavender. Essek’s gentle Rosohnain accent made Caleb blush profusely. Caleb could feel his heart skip a beat. All Caleb wanted more than anything in that moment was to be in a purple hot people sandwich.
