So to put it simply, life fucking sucks in Shadowclan unless you're Brokenstar or just... strong

Every cat has to do something, no matter what. Pregnant? Don't expect to be in the nursery unless you're actively giving birth or nursing. Can't hunt due to old bones? Get out. Brokenstar has no tolerance for cats who "lounge all day" Injured or sick? Better pray you aren't nest ridden.

Speaking about the sick & injured, since some cats can't fight due to it, Runningnose is responsible for hunting for the cats in his care. And there are a lot of injured cats in Shadowclan. He is also solely responsible for gathering herbs, but having so many cats who need treatment, and having the hunt for most of them, it's difficult to build stock.

Fights break out frequently in Shadowclan. Whether its over a piece of prey, a nest, or any reason at all (mostly due to the lack of the former things). There is no prey pile, if you want to eat, cats are expected to eat their catch. And eat it quickly because if a hungry cat sees you, they can fight you for it.

Dens are just dens now, there's no apprentice den or warriors den, sleep where you can if you can. Only Brokenstar and Runningnose have their own dens, and maybeee the nursery ? But it doesn't get used very often since kittens are taken out at around 3 moons and many cats aren't looking forward to starting a life. Dens are also not reinforced, if rain leaks through then cats affected just move to a drier place.

However, since there's been many cats going hungry (and maybe even Brokenstar himself), Brokenstar has started a system.

Since Shadowclan is in need of more warriors, any warrior who brings in someone, is guaranteed to prey.

The more the merrier. It's the reason for why cats go into Twolegplace so often to snatch up kits or even older cats (except the elderly). Passing rouges are also targeted (if not kits, then the prey they catch).
