Who’s the main character of FNAF: Secret of the Mimic

Since Secret of the Swamp is coming up this year, I wanted to write a theory about who will be playing throughout the game. Since the newer games had protagonists with more personality than the original,

They are an adult. Presumably the same age as most adults in the franchise (Early 20s to late 40s.

They worked in the factory as a worker. The PAX demo starts in the Manager’s office, so they may be the manager.

One of the videos that talked about the PAX demo made a mention

I don’t believe that theory. For one thing, if the game actually takes place in 1979, that would mean the Michael would be the same age as Crying Child or Elizabeth which doesn’t fit the protagonist description. Secondly, why would Michael be in the factory

(Also, NotRealName if you see this post, I hope you make a Into The Pit: the Game video since you really seem to like it or a Edwin Murray video as a sequel to your FNAF dads video maybe after Secret of the Miimic because he is a interesting one)

1. Edwin Murray

It’s the most obvious choice. Edwin Murray fits

2. A Fazbear Entertainment Employee

Something that happened near the end of the Mimic story from Tales From The Pizzaplex #6 is that after David’s death and Edwin’s disappearance, a trio of Fazbear Entertainment employees check the factory and collect Edwin’s projects and costumes after he disappeared. (I don’t know if it’s after the Storyteller or the Mimic’s first half so let’s just state it’s the latter). After a few incidents and filler, it’s revealed that they are the 2nd team sent there and yeh 1st team met their ends by the Mimic, using the stuff it watched and while wearing mascot costumes (Remember that). In the end, they all died by the Mimic’s hands and in pretty disturbing ways. (IN A KIDS BOOK)

What if we’re playing as one of those unfortunate employees who was sent there by their employer

3. The guy who hit David and started all of this

Yes I know this sounds dumb. But hear me out. Throughout the FNAF games, we had protagonists who did

Michael Afton who accidentally killed his younger brother in a prank to bully him again.

Jeremy/The Bonnie Mask Bully who was there when Michael’s brother died and have a hand in it who is hugely implied to be the Fazbear technician and Cassie’s Dad (Yeah, I know that NotRealName says that would make him

Vanessa A. who was just a beta tester

Oswald’s dad from Into The Pit is implied to be the Freddy Bully. While he isn’t the main character

In the HW2 teaser, we got a puzzle showing a double-vision puzzle. If we had the VANNI mask on, we saw a picture of a factory and a gift shop which may belong to Edwin Murray. But when we take the mask off, we get….

Yep, that’s a 70s van. How can we tell?

Also, we have a Fazbear Frights story near the end where a high schooler accidentally runs over a kid while driving too fast and decides to hide it. And what happens to him? He LITERIALLY transformers into a Kids at Play sign. No I’m not kidding.

Another story of the series called ‘The Cliffs’ has a single father

If we are viewing ‘The Cliffs’ as a parallel to the Murray’s relationship with the Mimic, maybe we could view this as foreshadowing on what could happen to the aforementioned driver

I think this would be an interesting angle to look at it from. Because, most media we don’t see how it affects the person who hit somebody. Maybe, we’ll have flashbacks that foreshadowed the role in their story as a minor but impactful person who accidentally caused

As for what will happen to them? I think they will be killed. Either by the Mimic or by Edwin himself. Possibly in anger for taking his son away from him. Mimic who discovers he killed David and murders out of revenge.

If that doesn’t happen, I would write a AU where the drive is the main character and has to face the guilt of his actions. They will be a OC.

4. Somebody new that we don’t know of yet

This will possibly be the laziest but more common approach. They will make

So, to me I think that the main protagonist of SOTM will be Edwin.
