Cosplay on a dime

So, I have gotten a lot of compliments on my Jacob Frye cosplay I did this Halloween and I wanted to share how I put together a cosplay like that.

1) the most important step is to pick who you want to cosplay as. A general rule of thumb I use is that I try to stick to my height, hair color, eye color and skin tone for the easiest cosplays. Then all I have to focus on is my outfit. However you can find wigs that help give you a different color of hair if that's the only issue. Same goes for eye color but I don't do contacts so I try to stick with blue eyed characters, that said as long as you love the character and do your best to capture the essence of the character it shouldn't matter if you're not six foot eight, and built like a brick.

2) locate good reference images. I can't stress this enough. Don't just grab the one image of the outfit you are going for, grab other outfits and if you can find rigs, face models etc it will help you pull the entire look together.

3) start in your closet and other previous costumes you may still have. Ever since I was 13 all my costumes have been sustainable and reusable. I don't often buy actual costumes the one exception is Scorpion from Mortal Kombat because of how rare it is.

4) after seeing what you have put together a list of what you need. So in the case of my Jacob Frye cosplay all I wound up needing was one additional belt, a tie, and a pair of boots as I picked up the hat trying to do a different costume of Dr Faciliae from The Princess and The Frog.

4a) that being said sometimes grabbing something for a different costume may inspire something new.

4b) if you have family members that can help you ask. Is dad weeding out old ties, ask him if you can have a look before he donates or throws them out you can save your self a few bucks here and there.

5) always keep an eye out. I shop year round at stores like Salvation Army and St Vincent De Paul where I constantly pick up belts, pants, tops, and scarves for cosplay. I once built an entire cosplay at St Vincent De Paul.

5a) also it helps sometimes to go in what you have already to match what you need to what you have, and don't be afraid to ask for help.

6) okay so you have the costume now look back at your reference photo, does your character have scars, tattoos, anything else that you need make up or wigs for? Great!

6a) for scars and tattoos I recommend starting with the temporary tattoo pens Spirit Halloween sells, or if you are doing this after Halloween Bic sells body markers. If you are more skilled with makeup then with the scars I would recommend scar putty, it's a clay like makeup that you can use to make realistic scars and such but I suck at makeup so I cheat.

6b) with tattoos I recommend the body markers or the fake tattoo sleeves that Spirit Halloween has in one of three sections, Military, Cop or the Punk section. Party City can be hit or miss depending on when you go.

6c) there is a tutorial I found right here on Tumblr for making your own tattoo sleeves, I have a photo of my Desmond Tattoo Sleeve right here on my page as well.

7) now that you are already, it's the day of the event do yourself and anyone else who is curious a favor and take a picture of you in full get up. Yes including any makeup and extra props you need. Also keep your main reference photo on hand so you can show people the inspiration.

Lastly truly is to have fun. If done right you can have a costume/cosplay you can continue to bring out for many years to come and hopefully you didn't break the bank. Honestly the jacket for Jacob Frye was my most expensive piece this year. But the compliments were well worth it.

Nagisa: She was, and that's why she signed me up for comic con this weekend with her. (✿◠‿◠);;; But Yuzuki always goes crazy at these conventions and forgets I came with. So I'm usually left wandering on my own while she's getting photo-ops and autographs and sampling all the different stalls.

Rinka: ... So that's why you brought me along.

Nagisa: Well, no, I honestly felt bad for not doing much with you lately. You deserve better. >_<

Rinka: >/////<*** I told you it's fine. We could've done dinner later or whatever.

Nagisa: But we're always doing dinner. I thought we could change things up a bit? (✿◠‿◠);;;

Rinka: Nagisa... Dragging me to comic con is more than "a bit". >//////<*** Why am I even in this dumb costume?

Nagisa: (☉_ ☉) Honestly, I have no idea how Yuzuki's mind works. She took one look at you and said "a Tifa cosplay would work best!" ... And next thing I knew, she dragged you off and now here we are? (☉_ ☉)

Rinka: *huffs again* >/////////////////////<*** Honestly........ How did that otaku even fall for you? She can't put her manga down for five minutes. Is even a mangaka herself. >/////<***

Nagisa: Apparently, she really appreciated that I've listened to her all this time and at least tried keeping up with a number of series. (✿◠‿◠);;;

Rinka: *rolls eyes* Of course... I dunno why I expected any different. Why did you hang out with so many of us, back in E-Class?

Nagisa: ... B-Because if I was hanging out with E-Class, I wouldn't have to spend that much time at home? (✿◠‿◠);;;

Rinka: Nagisa. You know damn well what I meant. (╬≖_≖)

Nagisa: *drags foot on the floor like a wounded puppy* W-Well... You know before dad took me in, mom was grooming me to be her second shot at what she missed out on...

Rinka: Yeah, your mom was a real bitch. (╬≖_≖)

Rinka: You know I meant your mom-mom, not Irina. (╬≖_≖)

Nagisa: Th-That doesn't make it any better!!! (⊙▂⊙✖ )

Rinka: Well, your mom shouldn't have been such a lowlife, bottomfeeding trashfire. I'm not gonna apologize when she treated you like crap. (╬≖_≖)

Nagisa: *sigh* (☉_ ☉) The point is, because of how I was being raised, interacting with girls was just... easier. The guys in E-Class were - are - great. But for that first while when Koro-sensei was getting our act together, I didn't get as much teasing for my looks from you girls. I... enjoyed being around that chill atmosphere more. (☉_ ☉)

Rinka: ...

Nagisa: You know Rio was the exception to the rule!! (☉_ ☉)**

Rinka: Yeah, I guess. -___- Some of us still speculated whether you were a guy or a girl, though. No guy had the right to be that pretty.

Nagisa: *sigh* I know, but you guys weren't as open or as frequent with the teasing. (✿◠‿◠);;; Once I hung out with Akari enough, pretty soon Yukiko got curious about me. Then Touka, Hinata... Hinano always sorta talked to me because she's... Hinano. Rio always liked messing around with me. Yuzuki tended to crack anime references around me and Akari, even used us as a sounding board a few times because she took her comedy very seriously. (✿◠‿◠);;;

Rinka: Mmm... (╬≖_≖) Yeah, I guess after a while you just had this reputation as someone we could talk to. Despite being besties with Karma, you were trustworthy and sweet about dropping everything to hear us out.

Nagisa: ... Why do you not sound too happy about that...? (✿◠‿◠);;;

Rinka: Because it was a circus when we got far enough along in our friendships. (╬≖_≖) Akari was already hogging you enough as it was. But then Yukiko hit that phase where she would drag you out to the arcade the second class let out. Even Koro-sensei was impressed at her speed. (╬≖_≖)

Nagisa: That's not... um... well... Maybe it was a bit like that... (✿◠‿◠);;;

Rinka: (╬≖_≖) Hinata was pummeling the guys more often because they were idiot perverts that couldn't be more like you. She got around to punishing the Terasaka boys for making you do that one stunt early in the year. (╬≖_≖)

Nagisa: O-Oh... (☉_ ☉) *wondered why Terasaka had been so chummy for the longest time*

Rinka: Don't get me started on Hinano and Touka. (╬≖_≖)(╬≖_≖)(╬≖_≖)(╬≖_≖)(╬≖_≖) Those two and Ritsu were... creepy as hell. Whenever they found locks of your hair, they squabbled over them. If you ever forgot something, it became this huge debate over who would get to return it to you. Not gonna touch the secret photo album they compiled during the school year... They snapped pics like damn paparazzi's. I don't even want to know how they caught certain moments of you; I swear they were busy doing other things when you made cute faces or reactions, but apparently not. (╬≖_≖) And Ritsu... I'm not sure if you ever noticed, but she followed you online and liked every single post you shared. Every. Single. One. (╬≖_≖)

Nagisa: I, uh... I think I remember something like that... (☉_ ☉);;; B-But, uh... Rinka... If you knew about "certain moments", doesn't that mean you were watching me a bunch, too??? (☉_ ☉)

Rinka: .............. >//////////////////////<*** Sh-Shut up! Unlike those weirdos, I at least respected your privacy... Koro-sensei even snapped a picture of you sleeping at home once, and everyone - everyone - hounded the octopus for copies. I told you, it was a damn circus when we got far enough along. My MCM London Experience

So my Comic-Con experience certainly had its ups and downs...somehow, I always seem to end up catching a bug like COVID a few weeks before an event I've been looking forward to for months, and then I'm left with a chronic cough and feeling like death even once I stop testing positive. I had so many plans to meet up with friends and catch up over drinks, and I ended up going to bed in my hotel room by 6pm...

But........

There were certainly some highs. Meeting and chatting with @wifeofsyril & @karnpuffs in the queue for the photo ops with Denise on Saturday, talking all things Star Wars, Andor, and Dedra (which frankly I don't get to do enough of, it's criminal)...

Meeting up and getting to play with my old saber training group, Silver Sabres, and spend half the day surrounded by fellow saber nerds...

The utter chaos that was the Witcher 3 panel. It felt a little...strange, like it was vaguely linked to it being ten years since the Witcher 3 came out, but it all felt quite loosely connected to the fact. It was more fun watching Denise slowly lose her mind over having to draw anything 😄 (I felt that, Denise. As a fellow artistically-challenged-person, I felt that. Pictionary is my idea of hell) and the conversations the cast were having about their characters. An interesting snippet from Denise was about her decision to pitch Yennefer a little lower than her natural speaking voice, to project authority and power, and I felt you can hear that in Dedra's voice too.

The lighting wasn't great so this was pretty the only picture I took during the panel which didn't turn weird...

Nearly had a heart attack when they started mentioning fanfiction. Admittedly, it was Witcher fanfiction, not Star Wars or Andor, but now I can't get the image of Denise scrolling the Dedra Meero tag on Ao3 out of my head 🤣🤣. Denise and Doug, the guy she's sat next to who voiced Geralt, and some of the other cast, also spoke about the importance of fandom and the escape it offers as they've been told by fans over the years, which I fully concur with. Fantasy has always been my escape when the world gets a little too much.

And finally, what probably had to be the highlight of the weekend:

I debated about covering my face but I'm posting this on the clock app too since I post cosplay shit over there. You should've seen the way Denise's eyes lit up when I offered her the lightsaber. Don't get me wrong, I love that Andor doesn't rely on the Sith-Jedi-lightsaber stuff at all beyond occasional references to ol' Palpy, but I think it should be written into every Star Wars actor's contract that they get to play with a lightsaber at least once. This is also my Inquisitor Dedra cosplay's debut, got some really great comments walking around MCM, and when I took the photo for Denise to autograph, she basically said she wants a black uniform like mine. Now, to work on my photoshoot skills so next time, you can actually see more than just my cloak, one boot, and one gauntleted arm 🤣😅

Got myself a GDToys The Son Of The Tooth King - Dog Demon Swordman GD97005, 1:6 action figure. Also known as Sesshomaru in a more realistic stylization (cosplay, perhaps?). Lol! I have been tempted by GDToys figures in the past, but they seem to make mostly females, and I kind of don't actively look to collect female figures, unless I want to hybrid their heads on male bodies. I've also seen their paint apps to be extremely hit-or-miss, so I knew this Sesshomaru fig was going to probably not be as perfect as their prototype. However, in hand, he doesn't look as terrible as in my extreme close up of his face.

He's definitely not as perfect as the prototype, but I never expected him to be. I just thought this would be a good enough customizable figure, with great potential, based on one of my most favorite characters of all time (that isn't Sephiroth, but pretty close). I don't own that many figures based on him, because there are just not that many. The head sculpt in particular was what sold me to get this, I knew the paint apps weren't going to be anywhere near the prototype, but it's rare to see beautiful male anime-ish head sculpts in the 1:6 world. That are actually male, and not hybrid from dolls or females, etc. So, I had to have him, as a Christmas gift to myself (because I don't gift myself enough things all year round!). I also managed to get one with its own brown shipper! Yay!

I am still uncertain that I will be repainting him, but I knew that if he didn't look anything decent IRL, I could just attempt repainting him but still end up with all the other stuff to create my own Sessho custom figure. I did try a million years ago with a Noir De Rome Japanese fashion doll head sculpt, and a Volks Neo EB go body, but I never got far enough. I feel this one will be a close enough one for me. I'll definitely need to restyle the bangs, the hair is probably not the same as the prototype but it's certainly not as fluffy, and that's not just the styling. I'll take more "decent" than just flash photos of him, once I attempt restyling his bangs, to be closer to the prototype, because these are definitely not even an attempt on GDToy's part. DX

4. how often are you on tumblr? Way too often lol. I check it many times a day, most of which are out of boredom :p

7. can you swim? I can! No, like, 'proper' styles or super well or anything, but I can swim! The last time was like 2 years ago tho and it's way harder than I remembered lol, I think it was easier when I was a kid and much lighter :p

8. have you had water today? uhhhhhh. I. can't recall. the last time I had just normal water. I've never really like the 'taste' of it, and still don't. p much the only time I drink it is if it's summer and I was exercising and am Super thirsty, in which case cold water is great. Otherwise I'm drinking something else, iced tea or juice primarily, I do still try and stay hydrated.

14. do you admire the clouds and color of the sky? Very much!!! Clouds are so pretty and there's so many variations, I absolutely love them. I'm admiring the clouds and/or sky at least once a day.

17. an earliest obsession you remember? Hmmm I mean I'd probably say Pokemon honestly. I had so much Pokemon merch as a kid (and still own much of it in storage boxes), and I'm p sure I had a Pokemon themed birthday one year (probably 2001? 'cause we went to see Pokemon: The Movie 3 in theatres, which would've made me 7).

22. do you have a collection of cool rocks? Heck yeah I do! Primarily ones I've bought from mineral shops. I used to also just have some cool river rocks I found, but I don't think I have any of them anymore.

24. what have you learned about yourself? Gosh this is such a broad question. I love bonding with friends over the same creative hobbies (cosplay, DnD, etc), I love fashion and eccentric clothes and shoes and heels now, especially after top surgery as I get to actually enjoy how they fit me! I'm a slut in theory but not in practice u.u I'm not 100% settled on a sexuality label, but I also don't have to be, sexuality and romantic orientation are fluid and also a spectrum. I have some poor behaviours I picked up from my parents that I'm not proud of. I've definitely improved some quite a bit, but I'm also still wary there's more that I haven't realized or had pointed out.

26. do you believe in aliens? I think the universe is far too unbelievably vast for other life to not exist out there. So in that sense, yes! Same goes for sentient life. But do I believe they've visited Earth, or even our solar system? Nada.

31. have you gotten bit by a dog? Depends on how you'd define 'bit' I suppose? There's only ever been one (or two?) cases in which it was enough to draw blood. Which was shortly after I got Rowan, and I was giving him a chicken treat before leaving for work, and I looked away and he snatched it out of my hand, and accidentally bit my pinky as well as the treat. He defs didn't mean to, and I wouldn't really consider it a bite, myself.

33. a song that gets stuck in your head? Oh boy this varies all the time. Like, daily or multiple times a day. Often I wake up with a song stuck in my head. It's usually just a song I like and have been listening to recently.

34. when you hear “ peace ” what do you think of? I mean, if this were one of those 'answer with your first thought/off the top of you head' things, it would just be the peace sign ☮ Or the two-finger peace sign. More philosophically though, just a beautiful nature view, a river or mountains or something, on a nice day that's not too hot. Beautiful scenery and relaxation.

44. do you collect anything? Yes!! The aforementioned rocks/minerals, and also feathers that I happen to find. And shed antlers that we've found out hunting (tho now that I don't go any more I haven't added to them in years), and some animal skulls and bones~ Oh and dice. As I ponder this question and look up to see my shelves full of Chessex dice lol (I thought I had photos handy but uh. apparently I don't. and my phone's storage is too full to take some whoops)

He's really stressed and a busy man but he still tries to be a good dad towards you

Would spoil you with gifts to make up for the time he couldn't spend with you

Would do things as rocking you to sleep when he's on a call or let's you play wirh toys on his lap while he finishes paperwork

If you have a tantrum he would not have it. He wont hesitate to give you a time out but will afterwards talk it out with you and find a solution that fits both of you

If you ignore his flaws he's actually a good dad

but if there's a new anime convention he would take you there and buy you everything you want

Cosplaying together is a regular thing between you two

would not let you get dirty or ruin your skin so you wouldn't get creative freedom every child needs

your sleep schedule and diet is perfectly planned

his narcissism would rub off on you

tho he would try to keep you pure, as it makes you cuter (no cuss words or sexual things near you)

you would need to be well mannered

narcissistic parents most likely will have an impact to the child so you may need professional help in the future (would never do anything bad to you on purpose

your sleep cycle and feeding schedule is fucked up( will cause health problems later on) -tho beel helps him taking care of you so it's not that bad tho

you may bond more with beel than with belphie because of that

but cuddling with him(and sometimes beel) is like heaven

when he's actually awake he's funny to be around

you probably joined the anti lucifer league and do pranks on lucifer

satan may take care of you too when beel and belphie are busy

he may be to lazy to do many activities with you but when he does it's actually quite fun

tho waking him up when you need something is a problem

you can't really rely on him due to his sin so u turn to the others

that kinda makes him sad tho so he tries to stay awake (sometimes succeeds and sometimes not)

the overly cheerfull irresponsible dad

he would definitely take you to town to have fun with him

you two will be like best friends

it's very fun to be around him but he's not good at taking care of you

will not give you any rules so eating candy all day and being awake past your bed time is allowed

will also not punish you (if it's something drastic he will ask lucifer or barbatos for help)

because of that barbatos does most of the parenting

your probably see diavolo as an older brother or best friend and barbatos as a father instead

diavolo may unintentionally manipulate you into obeying him( like he does to everyone)

will have a lot of work to do so he can't always spend time with you

because barbatos is also very busy you often spend your time in purgatory hall or with the brothers (not that you mind ofcourse)

lucifer will be your dad 2.0(or a mother in that matter-)

you took after your dad so you're a cheerful child

but since you are also quite the trouble maker you get on lucifers nerves

you also named the little d's, which diavolo seemed to find funny (little d 2's name is jonny-)

the calm and kind father

would teach you manners and how to cook

will teach you everything you need to know about chores and stuff

he's always calm and never raises his voice at you

but doesn't have much time for you due to his duties -either you spend the time at purgatory hall or with the brothers or help him out (is not found of you helping him tho-)

the brothers (cough cough mammon-) would probably treat you like a servant so you spend more time at purgatory hall

you probably end up being diavolo's servant too

if you're serving diavolo you will not get as many hours of work as the others since you are a child (a child of barbatos on top of that)

diavolo totally favours you (of all the other servants)

Tokyo in Tulsa Master Post

Okay! I went to Tokyo in Tulsa this year and I am happy to say, I will be going next year!! This was my first time, but people told me that the way they had it set up was unusual.

-Below are somethings that happened-

They had different buildings for different things. I personally didn't like this. They had a shuttle that you could travel on for free, but I am not good with directions. Good thing my friend was. Any time we looked around I was right behind him!

Friday

I didn't dress up in my full cosplay There weren't many panels I was interested in and I wanted a good look around. I cosplayed as Uraraka and it was really fun! It's great to see so many people in the same fandom as you.

Friday, I was really nervous and to scared to take photos with people. I did however want a photo with at least one Toga. My wish was granted when this cute bean popped into my line of sight.

I may have been shy to talk to people, but they weren't shy to me. I got many people who said they loved my Uraraka and wanted a photo. This made me really happy! This was my first time cosplaying and it really boost my confidence!!! I gladly took photos with them, I just wish that I had enough guys at the time to ask them for a photo.

Saturday

I dressed in her full uniform! Many people showed up that day. I went to many panels and took several photos.

The first panel we went to was My Hero Academia: The Forbidden Episode that was hosted by WhateverGoes. I personally loved their Shigaraki. Their hand was attached to the wig where they could just flip the hand over their face by shaking their head. They had a short game where you could 'date' them, sadly I was still to shy. I didn't get a photo with them either.

The next panel we went to was Bakugou vs Deku UA Games hosted by SquareOneCosplay they actually have a YouTube channel! You should really check it out!!! This was my friend's favorite panel! They had games and prizes, and even included the audience as a whole. At the end of the panel they said that they had extra prizes and that they would love some photos with us. My friend headed to the prizes, but I went straight to their Bakugou with a plan in mind. I got up to them and shook their hand. I made eye contact and somehow was able to say "These prizes are great, but I would like to take you home." They didn't know what to say, but their Uraraka stepped in and told me that they were with them. I took a photo with that Bakugou, but my hand was shaking after realizing what I said. The photo is a little blurry.

I also wanted to ask what makeup they used, but was to nervous and ran back to my friend. He handed the prize he grabbed and it was a card with Bakugou on it.

We went to the Manga Library for a bit and I read The Seven Deadly Sins. I realized that I need to catch up on the anime!!!

We then went to a panel called A hero's trip to the 80's hosted by Asher. Sadly we had to leave that one early as we were hungry and would miss the next panel.

After we ate we realized that we were a little late to the panel You Can Be A Hero Too hosted by Midnight Party Owls. The plan was to just sneak in and sit in the back, but when we got there we say a Bakugou and Deku talking right outside the door. One told the other that they were to pretend that they were late and to stay in character. All while this was happening my small brain was starting to piece together what was happening. They then slammed open the door and I heard a "Bakugou? Deku? You're late!" My friend and knew that if we were to sneak in right after their show of being late, all eyes would be on us. So we didn't go.

We just walked around bought a few things. My friend bought a necklace he didn't want because the vendor had an aggressive marketing strategy and he collapsed under peer pressure. He now has a 40$ dice necklace.

Sunday

I had a plan and we were running late. I couldn't find any ring pops in the store or any vendors.

We went the panel My Hero Academia hosted by Dawn Bennett, Chritopher Wehkamp, and Had Saxton

At first I thought this was going to be like the other panels, but I was pleased to find out I was wrong. The Dub voice actor (season two and onwards) for Aizawa was there! He was really chill and stated that he booked many cons this summer! I was going to get an auto from him, but someone said that they will also be signing things in another open room later. Noticing that we might run out of time we decided to get an autograph later. We never did. I couldn't find them in any rooms.

The last panel we went to was Doki Doki Dating Panel hosted by SquareOneCosplay

I wasn't actually going to this panel until after their amazing BNHA panel. The Bakugou from before was cosplaying Yuri. I told my friend that I was going to propose using the kinder Joy egg I bought. He laughed at me and said that I won't win. We got in the room and when it was Yuri's turn my hand shot up like a bullet. All shyness went out the window. I got chosen and took the third seat. After a few questions I was chosen as the successful blind 'date'. I pulled out my egg and apologized for not having a ring pop. I then proposed to them with a Kinder Joy "because they are the Joy of my life." I sat down after they took the egg and all of the DDLC members took a turn, they went another round. Realising I might loose them to a Toga that won the second round I stood up from the audience and said, " My love do not forsake me. For I have another Kinder egg!" I then handed them my second Kinder Joy. After the panel they went outside to take photos with everyone. I got a group photo!

I then got a photo with Yuri and they got an egg out of their bag to take a photo with me.

Now that all of the panels were done, we couldn't find the voice actor, and with nothing else to do, we did the unspeakable. We went to one of the other buildings. We were going to go to the PO Center, but my friend told me that the artists are actually at an abandoned Hobby Lobby. We went to the Hobby Lobby instead. We both came here with one thing we wanted to buy, and with little to no money left it seemed impossible. My friend found a weapon and got really happy. I wanted either a Bakugou cardboard cutout or action figure. After finding a 45 dollar action figure we wanted to take a look around to see if we could find a cheaper one (I was 5 short). We found someone selling cardboard cutouts, but no Bakugou. While looking around we realized that the things that we bought were actually a lot cheaper here. I found a Bakugou action figure for only 40 dollars. And we went home happy and broke.

This last weekend (+Thurday and Friday) was Comic Con Portugal, and I have things to share!!! This was the first time in Lisbon (better said, Oeiras, as they kept repeating because the “mayor” wanted some points), which to me worked much better because I do not have to spend money in hotels or long distance trains... The space was huge and outside, so it was very good they changed it to September :) But in terms of the organization, they really need to decide better who they put interviewing people, there was one guy that was just really bad, and I know Joe Reitman can’t do them all (but his with Dolph Lundgren was so great - he was just so happy and excited), but can’t you bring in Mário Augusto to do some of them (not just the Disney panels).

First of all to the Americans, there will be this short movie making some festivals in the US, called Sleepwalk by Filipe Melo, and I want to tell you if you have the chance, check it out!! It’s a beautiful story inspired by a comic I read either last week of 2017 or first one of 2018, I had gotten it for my Dad as a Christmas present; I’m not sure if the comic has been translated, but the movie is fully in English and the story is very related to America.

Continuing on what I got to watch, I watch The Passage!!! Probably my favorite thing of the all Comic Con, I’ve been hearing about it since the episode “Red Queen” of The 100, and then all the press Henry Ian Cusick has been doing for it - I was very curious and I was blown away... The show did not look like something I would like, I just wanted to look at Ian (and I must say seeing him in a big screen is pretty awesome), and his performance was great, but then the story is really interesting and they leave open so many questions in the pilot, that I’m intrigued. But the best thing was the girl’s performance, Saniyya Sidney was adorable and so funny in all the interviews I had seen, but she was great in the show - she was fun and sweet, she could also really hold herself in moments of emotional pain... Really looking forward to January and the rest of season 1 (and still hoping that this show does not mean the dead of Marcus Kane, because it’s not good enough to forgive that).

Also watched the pilot of Outpost and Siren, which I know has been out in the US, they were okay, but did not intrigued me to continue watching. Also watched the movie The House with a Clock in Its Walls and it was not great - the story was not that good... and the acting from the kid was not excellent, and Jack Black was not a funny character... so I would only advise if you’re in love with Cate Blanchett - she was very good!!

This part is over and I want to talk a bit about the panels. Dan Folger (Jacob from Fantastic Beast) is one of the funniest people ever, he just couldn’t stand still and he would get up and yell at nothing, and tell jokes - he has a podcast and he’s going to put both panels he did in there, so check it out :) It probably won’t be as funny as with the visual, but still pretty good.

Then my favorite Dichen Lachman (Anya from The 100 and in the picture above), she was so sweet and nice, and I was really close to the front, so I could really see her!! And I really love the way she talks about Anya, it seems to be a character she really enjoyed playing, and she really wished that there could have been more, she feels that it’s a character with a lot of unfinished business and she would like a “Grounders” prequel. She also talked a lot about Reileen from Altered Carbon, so I’m starting the show now!!

Nicholas Hoult (the Beast from X-Men), he was so sweet!! He hugged a girl and she hadn’t asked, she was just wearing one of those free hugs signs and he just offered and it was the best thing - the girl was just so shocked!! And he talked about Skins a lot, because that show was huge here!! And I think he said one of his favorite scenes to film was when they stole Chris’ body and drove across the town - they did not close the streets, so they saw funny reactions to driving with a coffin through the streets

Then Dolph Lundgren (Ivan Drago from Rocky IV), he was just so awesome!! His stories about Rocky were just so excellent!! And him sharing stories about his own life was just so good - did you know he has a degree in chemical engineering? I’m super excited for Creed 2!!

Finally, Elyes Gabel (Rakharo from Game of Thrones), but sadly there was only one Game of Thrones related question, everything else was Scorpion talk, which I know nothing about...

I also cosplayed this year, only in the weekend (the other two days just used fandom shirts - The 100 and Star Wars), I went with Drusilla Blackthorn from The Shadowhunter Chronicles, specifically from The Dark Artifices - she’s my favorite character of that particular series, and overall in the entire Shadowhunter world, she’s the one I most identify with, the way she talks about her body rings so true and it’s not something I normally see in media, especially fantasy. And then on Sunday, Clarisse La Rue from Percy Jackson and she’s my favorite - I LOVE HER!!! And these two girls, dressed in Hogwarts uniforms, actually asked to take a photo with me!!!

And to end this very long post, here are some of the things I bought!!! First the tote bags (Indiana Jones and Star Wars) were free, being given out by the channel “Hollywood” during their awesome concert of movie music (also a Mission Impossible tote bag, but I gave that one to my dad)

Saga (Volume 8) by Brian K Vaughan and Fiona Staples, it finally came out here!!! I’m so excited to read it!!!

I actually got some fanart this year, this “Leia and Han” one is so beautiful and I regretted not buying it last year :) And it’s by an artist going by Little Black Spot - they have a website, www.littleblackspot.com!!!

Then these two beautiful stickers - Leia and Poison Ivy - by Inês Barros (inesbarrosillustration in instagram). If you follow me, you’re probably a asoiaf fan, and if you like Sansa Stark and/or Daenerys Targaryen, check her out, because she has these beautiful prints of them!! (I really wished she had some of Arya - I found no prints of Arya at Comic Con...)

Two Daredevil comics and they were 6 euros each!!! 6 euros, guys!!! 12 total!!! That’s was so cheap.... they are in Brazilian, which I do not love, because it’s confusing at time, but I’ll take it for the price. Also they have Elektra and Medusa!!!

Three mugs - they are not all for me... I saw the Battlestar Galactica and I had to get it for my brother (BSG has so little merch...), and then they had a deal of three for 20 euros (one is 8 euros) and I was taken... The Winterfell one is obviously for me - it’s so beautiful!!!, and the Batman and Superman one is for my dad

Then I wanted some Lost merch, because I’ve just been deep into the show lately. There wasn’t much, actually two POPs - cheaper than usual - Kate and Jacob, but I only get POPs for characters I really love, and while I have a few favorites in Lost, the only one I would consider buying is if they ever make a Penny one, because I LOVE her so much!!! But I got this Dharma pin with all the stations!! It was between this one and a Dharma beer pin...

And then a Martell pin, because I lost the one I got last year... and my Stark one was feeling alone. I need everyone to know where my allegiances lie :)

Also got a lot of Japanese food for my brother, but by now he has eaten everything!! (And one of the drinks, he didn't even remember to let me take a sip...)

This post is actually done now, to conclude this it was an AMAZING for days, and my favorite was definitely Friday!!! Not too many people, or too little, Saga came out, I watched The Passage and I had the panels with Dan Folger, Nicholas Hoult and Dichen Lachman!!!
