‘She had a whale of a time filming it (“it was all my favourite actors, in space!”) and is tickled that she has been 3D-scanned for an action figure...’

Aldhani heist modern AU for Andor Appreciation Week 2023 - Day 3: Favourite Arcs ##
(Coruscant/Aldhani Valley) Vel Sartha, society girl, implicated in last year’s Aldhani Bank heist
Leaked documents from the Security Bureau allege collaboration of political and criminal elements on a not yet seen scale.
An investigation into the claims of Security Bureau agent Lt. Dedra Meero, who assembled the leaked file using confidential security documents, has been started. Experts doubt the validity of her claim that a yet unnamed leader, code name “Axis”, orchestrated the attack - in which eight bank employees and security officers lost their lives - with the goal to raise funds to establish a broad revolutionary alliance.
The investigation into the heist, in which over 12 tons of gold and an unknown amount of legal tender was stolen, has notoriously been kept under wraps, with no official suspect being named by Aldhani Valley Police as of yet. A political dimension had not been part of the conversation about the motive for the heist up until the leak. Some of the file was assembled from confidential sources, including a politically highly incendiary illegal missive by the SB about Sarthas’s cousin, Senator Mon Mothma. Parts of the document seem to come from redacted files and sources, with no explanation how Meero has obtained these. According to inside sources, intra- and interorganizational security leaks in the Bureau are already being investigated. The document claiming to identify the perpetrators and their motive was leaked online by a yet unnamed person, going by “A friend of Lt. Meero”, who claims to “not longer be able to sit idly by while a good officer who knows the truth gets no recognition for her work”. Meero’s lawyers maintain that she herself has not broken confidentiality and did not leak the document herself. Whoever leaked the documents faces charges for disseminating confidential SB information. The file also names Karis Nemik, founding member of the Alliance of Socialist Students (ASS) and a former officer of the Imperial Army, identified only as Lt. Gorn as co-conspirateurs. Also named are Cinta Kaz and Taramyn Barcona, two veterans of private security outfits that have served in multiple military tours overseas, as well as two more men, Cassian Andor and Arvel Skeen, who have minor criminal records. There are no current criminal investigations into any of the seven suspects. Besides Sartha, none of the accused have been present in the public or on social media in the last year. Unsourced rumors that at least the accused Lt. Gorn was actually one of the bodies found at the scene have yet to be confirmed.
Meero draws alleged connections between the suspects foremost through photographic evidence. Most of this evidence is already under scrutiny by officials and a vocal crowd online, with claims of image manipulation already going viral.
Various civil rights attorneys and organizations have already spoken up about the political dimension in the accusations against Sartha - especially because of her connections to the current senate - and Nemik, who has been an outspoken political activist in recent years.
Members of the Mothma Senatorial office and Vel Sartha’s PR team have yet to comment.
Meanwhile, Sartha shared a cryptic post with the caption “Throwback to last year - I had been camping all spring!” on her various social medias.

Update Regarding the Death of Josephine the ISB Bonsai
After our investigation, Supervisor Meero and I have determined that the death of Josephine was due to someone smothering the poor bonsai in bacta gel. We are still looking for the culprit. However, Director Krennic has informed us that they stole the bacta gel from his office. He also suggested that the culprit is likely a Rebel who foolishly believed that bacta would heal the bonsai's broken branch. We are not sure how he came to this conclusion, but I am not allowed to question the conclusions of the Directors.
There is still a 500-credit reward for anyone with information leading to an arrest!
Rest in peace, sweet Josephine.
Attendant Heert ISB Central Office, Coruscant
(OOC: Credit to @fandomsniper for giving me the inspo for this idea that Krennic puts bacta on everything!)

For fuck marry kill: lieutenant Blevin, Syril Karn and Dedra Meero
Oh, this is easy lmao
Fuck: Dedra. She is simply not, nor will she ever be, marriage material. I know this. It’s debatable whether Syril knows or will ever know this.
Marry: Syril. I CAN FIX HIM. He just needs someone to love him… and someone to get him away from his mother… and someone to get him away from the fascism… I could do all of those things… 🥹
Kill: Blevin. Again, I did it for you, Dedra.
Send me three characters and I’ll tell you who I’d fuck, marry, or kill

Wandor Wednesday Wars #4 - Prelims
Who completes the Ninja Warrior course fastest and/or makes it further than the rest of the pack?
(see original post for more info if you don't know about the sport)
Heat 2 - four will advance to the semifinals
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Remember, even though you can only vote for ONE person, FOUR of them will advance from each poll. So don't just think about who you think is the fastest out of everyone, consider 2-4 as well and think about voting for one of them instead. One or two votes could make all the difference.

Andor (TV), Star Wars - All Media Types
No Archive Warnings Apply, Dedra Meero, Character Study, Gender Identity, Gender Dsyphoria, but NOT in the way that you think!, Imperial Culture, the performance of the removal of feminity in a gender neutral culture where gender neutrality presents as masculinity, let me cook!!!!!
There is no neutrality when a culture is devoted to ignoring immutable aspects of its own inherent binarism. There is no equality if you must choose to be either a frigid bitch or an incubator. There is no choice when you do not have agency.
Every day, Dedra wakes up and goes to work. When she comes home, she stares at the ceiling until she falls asleep. In the liminal spaces between wakefulness and sleep, home and the office, cracks begin to show.

No Archive Warnings Apply, Dedra Meero & Armitage Hux, Dedra Meero, Armitage Hux, Character Study, Pre-Star Wars: The Force Awakens, when you look at someone younger than you and you realize they have no idea how much their existence is an insult to you, Cultural Differences, Homophobia, Misogyny, Imperial Culture
"No one understands," says Lieutenant Armitage Hux, eyes fervent and teeth bared at the infinitely young and incandescent age of twenty-four. "I can do it. I'm different. They must listen to me. They will see I am right-- that the First Order will be built under me-- that I can win this cold war with a single fucking shot."
Senior Intelligence Officer Dedra Meero, exhausted and bitter in her pity role she refuses to retire from out of sheer spite, listens to the boy in front of her and stifles the urge to scream.

Or, the irony of seeing someone else get exactly what you wanted by being everything you were not.
send me a title + a pairing and i'll give you the fic i'll never write

[Concerning Andor and some of the problems of revolutions]
Think about it. The empire works because there are significant parts of the population that support it and a significant number of people who are willing to work for it. If the Rebellion succeeds, those people don’t just disappear. The Rebellion will need to decide what to do with them.
Yes, people like Lieutenant Dedra Meero and Doctor Gorst can just be executed or locked away for life. But what about Syril, and Commandant Beehaz, and Beehaz’s family, and the garrison on Aldani, and Mon Mothma’s driver, and the Shoretrooper that arrested Cassian, and the wardens at the prison who survived, and the stormtroopers that fired into the crowd an Ferrix, and the people on Ferrix who gave information to the Empire for a reward. They all supported the Empire in some way.
So what can be done? Mass executions? Probably not. Reeducation? Small punishments based on their level of culpability? How do you integrate them into the new society? Perhaps with an informal “don’t ask, don’t tell”, where they can pretend they have no past with the empire. Do you give them political rights? That may risk the Empire coming back through elections. Do you exclude them from the political process? That contradicts the ideals of democracy.
I wonder if Nemik’s manifesto says anything about this.

Andor Ep 4 "Aldhani"
Luthen takes Cassian to the planet Aldhani, asking him to join a robbery mission there. Cassian is reluctant but eventually agrees. Luthen asks him to use a pseudonym among the rebels, and Cassian chooses 'Clem'. Vel, the rebel group's leader, introduces him to the rest of the group but keeps Luthen's involvement a secret. They explain to Cassian that they intend to steal the payroll of an Imperial sector from a key Imperial supply hub, taking advantage of a rare natural phenomenon in Aldhani's sky to escape since their getaway vehicle is slow. Meanwhile, on Coruscant, Luthen, posing as an antiques dealer, meets with Senator Mon Mothma, and they discuss challenges in keeping their opposition to the Empire hidden. Karn goes to live with his mother after being castigated and fired. Imperial Security Bureau (ISB) lieutenant Dedra Meero seeks access and authority over the Ferrix incident, but is opposed by a colleague and a senior officer.
The design choices shaped the narrative as much as the main character’s story arc. Luke Hull would sketch something up immediately, and Sanne Wohlenberg would participate both creatively and with budget constraints. “I’ve never had that experience before,” Gilroy says. “We couldn’t do it another way.”
Hull says much of this arrangement was forced by Gilroy’s intricate writing style. “Every space has to have a reason, has to tell a story, has to have a context,” he says. The home of Andor’s mother, Marvaa, for example, was designed to look like it had been neglected. “You want to feel that she’s slightly lost her touch of home because she’s lost her husband, and things have gotten on top of her,” Hull says. “We had endless conversations about every set, and they were always character-led.” ‘Andor’ is a triumph of cinematic world building by Jesus Diaz
