Grab a cuppa and get comfy, ‘cause Sketchbook Session time has arrived once more! ☕✏️
Today I wanna do some doodling and catch y’all up on how 2024 has been going so far – (Spoiler: it’s been a bit of a mess but I’m muddling thru sgdfdfgh 🫠)
Y'all, I cannot wait. Look at these idiots! I love goofy vampires so much and that no one is taking this super seriously and it's just fun and all the playfulness but also the little touch of serious behind it all. And the familiar faces! @absolutebl Pulp. Absolute vampire pulp.
POOR GABRIEL MONTEZ! YOU NEVER SAW THIS COMING DID YOU? ALL YOU WANTED WAS POWER. SECURITY. SAFETY. & THATS EXACTLY WHAT YOU GOT! JUST IN EXCHANGE FOR YOUR BODY. LETS JUST HOPE NO ONE FUCKS THIS UP. LETS JUST HOPE YOU WONT HAVE TO CLEAN UP THE MESS.
Saw your Mishanks bodyswap art! Very cute and fun! (Mihawk with a genuine smile on his face so so fun)
I imagine Shanks whould have trouble fighting in Mihawk's body at first since it's been years since he's had two arms
yes absolutely, i imagine that too! conversely, i think mihawk would have a little bit of trouble adjusting his balance and reach with a body missing one arm, as well. it's interesting to think about how they both would be forced to change their fighting style, and whether or not they would exchange swords.
mihawk's been seen using yoru with just one hand so he could probably pull it off with shanks's body. also interesting to think about shanks tripping up on having two arms until he naturally slips into his old fighting style again--or would he? because there's also the question of muscle memory, right? would mihawk's body automatically do things that shanks isn't predisposed to doing, and vice versa?
the other thing i find intriguing about body swapping in one piece is the question of whether or not your haki powers would switch as well. they say haki is spiritual presence, so presumably your haki switches if your spirits switch, but if it's the kind of spirit that's tethered to the presence of the body? then consider mihawk having the strongest conqueror's haki out on the blues, or shanks being able to use observation haki at mihawk's level, practically being able to predict the future--or mihawk, able to counter with shanks's haki-kill technique. food for thought!
#UndertheSkin2, starring Tan Jianci & Jin Shijia, also announces return of Zhang Bojia, Zhu Jiaqi, Lu Yanqi, Qin Hailu & Fang Zibin for 2024 Tencent Video Drama Party [x]
"Yeah yeah, they're getting as many of those Coral-aug'd guys on this as they can - nothing higher than fourth gen. Nothing but old tech. ACs? They just stop. Drones? Don't come back, and if they do? Can't get anything useful out of them. It's bad enough that the PCA's willing to cut a deal with the corps - 'cause word is? Rubicon-Three's haunted."
THIS WAS. MEANT TO BE A ONE-OFF FUNKY LIL' ASTRONAUT AU. NOTHING WAS MEANT TO HAPPY BEYOND hehe iguazu in funny space suit
anyway,
G5 Iguazu, on loan from the Red Guns because he gets no fucking say in anything, is on a dinky little space station with some suits and techies as they work out how exactly they'll use him as a lab-rat to approach the now, 'haunted' planet. No machinery has made landfall and no signals have gone in or out of the place since an incident three years ago that turned Rubicon-3 into a maelstrom of Coral.
The suits had tried. He'd had a good laugh or ten about how futile their efforts were with Volta. Not that that lasted long - augmented humans were catnip or some shit, and he'd drawn the short straw of being one of the few naturally marinated lab rats around.
So he's stuffed in this shitty suit that he's sure came from a museum and then thrown out of airlock like fish bait. And what do you know? He starts bloody hallucinating. That's the only thing he's willing to call it, cause none of this shit is showing on the cameras or sensors, beyond a rise in coral levels.
The nerds are excited though. 'It's promising!' and 'we're getting closer!', but all Iguazu knows is that these are like fucking aliens or ghosts or some shit, and there's something about that freak in space with all their little buddies that makes him want to punch their face in.

Clickbait title: SECRETS FROM THE HAUNTED RUBICON-3! 7 THINGS THE PCA DON'T WANT YOU TO KNOW.
Despite everything, Iguazu's actually pretty dedicated to making sure every safety procedure is completed before he goes out, but he also tends to make small mistakes; the most common is him not tucking all of his hair under the cap whoops.
The PCA does not have contact with their coral weapons on the ground and it Concerns Them Greatly.
A large stock of inactive Gen-4s had disappeared sometime around when Rubicon-3's situation - this Also Concerned The PCA Greatly.
The guinea pig from Arquebus' side is O'Keeffe and he is also Not Very Happy About It.
The situation on the station is full of intrigue that Iguazu absolutely does Not care about, but it's safe to say that even he recognizes that it's a tense situation of decidedly un-jolly cooperation.
The planet seems quite volatile; threads of coral escape from the atmosphere like solar flares before being drawn back into the storm.
Is Rubicon-3 Actually Haunted? Who Knows, But Iguazu's Definitely Seeing Something Out There!
hello! quick question, i know this is very soon after you posted the comic of young lime trying to bully mochi, and i’m sorry if a question like this has been asked before, but when mochi sees the candy bits and is able to recognize what spells they could be used in and the effects they have, is that from studying magic a lot or is it like a natural identification ability/instinct that she has? thank you!! i hope you have a good day :)
oh thats a great question actually!!!! it comes from studying!!!!
as a kid she was already trying to be a very diligent witch-to-be!! she would spend a lot of time with her mom while she was making spells, so between reading a lot of spellbooks + hanging out when her mom was making potions + wanting to be like her mom, shes good at spotting things that could be used in spells even from an early age!!
(that being said, as a kid she still messed up a lot on the right ingredients. shed bring home random items and be like "I got us spell ingredients!!" and tiramisu would be like "Oh!! Thanks sweetie!!" and didnt have the heart to tell her that whatever she brought home was some useless piece of grass or something jkldj)
I'm hearing a lot online about the Dracula manga, but scarcely anything about the Dracula Choose-Your-Own-Adventure book.
Taking on the Adventure-book format from games like Death Trap Dungeon, you play as either Jonathan, Mina, Dracula or Seward (RIP Arthur, Quincey, and Van Helsing) and play through either an altered version of the book, changing depending on your actions, or a completely new series of events (Dracula's pre-undead life, a full-on murder mystery on a train for Van Helsing) depending on which character you choose.
i should’ve paid more attention to who it was before i tapped the notification and it went away, but to the person who replied to the world tour announcement post (and seems to have quickly deleted) and said “who cares about diversity…”
i do. so many phans do.
my tag about hoping the remaining cast is more diverse is not to undermine anyone who has already been cast because they surely deserve it. it is in the hope that the casting team will continue to do something that should just be happening, especially in 2024. everyone deserves a fair shot and representation on the stage and there’s been a clear pattern of that not happening as much as it should’ve across theatre! representation is so important.
this was only announced today and i have gotten a few messages about the principal cast being overwhelming white thus far. it’s not just me making a comment to make one or trying to be a downer or whatever.
so yes, i (and i’m sure pretty much everyone else) am very happy and excited about the casting and i also hope that the production has cast more people of color in its ensemble. both can be true and one doesn’t take away from the other! <3
