a/n: vaped too much so I thought I would write some cheeky 420 head cannons

Gojo Satoru

Used to buy your weed, but now is just your friend who mooches

He brings snacks and movies tho!!

He really likes candy normally but gets overstimulated when high so he only really brings the candy for you

but then it works as back up candy when he’s more sober.

Definitely talks too much

To the point where his voice becomes low and gravelly

So you give him a pass for being annoying, cause at least he sounds hot when doing it

Definitely is the plug for his friends for a long time, partly cause he’s a troll so he hikes up the price (stonks) and he doesn’t want them to meet you.

He can’t handle not being your favourite

Eventually Getou out smarts him tho cause he doesn’t trust Gojo’s measurements

Gojo started visiting more cause of this

No being too friendly to his cute plug

The day his students grow up and eventually buy from you is the day he squares up

it quickly becomes high movie marathons with everyone tho

You're just happy cause you barely need to pay rent now, you have a dedicated consumer base right there

but every time you start brushing his hair with your fingers, he melts and is paralysed

Gojo might always try to be around but he’s always not buying, Getou however always does and pays in full, sometimes more

Not to say he’s efficient about it, he’s also over all the time too now

So its just you trapped between the two watching movies

They try to act like they wanna watch horror, but they prefer romcoms tbh

His tolerance is so high so he has much respect for you supplying everyone and feels the need to pay it forward

Weirdly it still doesn’t feel transactional tho, he would make ways to create a day out or even be really domestic like getting groceries and making dinner

But not that you notice, no one really could tell the difference between high or sober Getou

Every time you think maybe you’ve just always been dating? When did you stumble into a 4 year relationship?

Ok I’m going to word vomit for a bit cause I haven’t slept in over a day lol and I’ve thought about this a lot, and recently after the LBotW cover+synopsis came out it’s been back on my mind.

So I’d always just accepted without question that yeah Jem grew up in China and speaks Mandarin Chinese, and his dialogue in Mandarin is always spelled out in standard pinyin ok ok not much to question there. But the last time I reread TID it finally came to me that, wait a second, Jem grew up in Shanghai.

In the 1860s.

Someone from a Shanghainese family in the 1860s would not grow up speaking speaking Mandarin, they would be speaking Shanghainese. This means Jem’s mother was originally from another city? In fact, I’d really like to ask Cassie which regional variant of Mandarin does Jem speak, and how is he finding speaking the language in modern day China? I’m intrigued!! What is it going to be like in LBotW, seeing him in his hometown where he grew up not speaking the local language?? Aaaaah

More linguistic and historical pedantry and word vomiting under the cut sdjfkjd:

Obviously, for modern readability, none of TID/TLH era characters are going to speak in exactly the way they used to in their historical time periods. However, the point remains that there’s been far fewer changes in regional speech in England than there’s been in China in the last 150 years. And there’s far less regional difference of language/dialect in England than in China, too.

Modern Mandarin didn’t come into widespread usage in Shanghai until the mid 20th century, when the Beijing variant of Mandarin was voted to become the new standard language, and the government instructed schools to start teaching in Mandarin rather than the local regional dialects.

There were other regional dialects of Mandarin that were in wide usage at canon’s time period, too, particularly the Southwestern variant. (In fact, outside of standard Mandarin, Southwestern Mandarin remains the regional dialect with most speakers to this day.)

However, few people in Shanghai in the 1860s would know how to speak Mandarin, any variant of it. To be able to communicate with those from other areas, businessmen and government officials, perhaps, would learn the Beijing guan hua (官话, literally translating to “official-speak”) that would become standard Mandarin. The average person though, would speak only the regional Wu language, more commonly referred to as Shanghainese. Others who spoke Mandarin had to have moved to Shanghai from elsewhere.

The difference between Mandarin and Shanghainese is not like just, say, Yorkshire English compared with American West Coast English. As Jem himself says in CP, Shanghainese is practically unintelligible to someone who speaks Mandarin (which is to be expected, cause it’s literally a different language). And even the difference between Standard Mandarin and Southwestern Mandarin is pretty huge - it would also be hard for speakers to understand each other. (My dad’s side of the family speaks Southwestern Mandarin in the Chongqing dialect, and whoo boy it’s so different I still have a hard time understanding them when they talk)

The Mandarin Jem speaks is essentially just the standard Mandarin nowadays. I’m assuming Cassie just defaulted to the standard Mandarin, because 1) there isn’t really any standardized romanizations of the regional dialects or languages so it’d be harder for the wider audience to understand if she tried to regionalize Jem’s speech and 2) I honestly just don’t think she wanted to put in that much effort lol and her translators seem to just know Mandarin (though perhaps not that well, considering the mistakes and anachronisms and just like, the overall weirdness of Jem’s Mandarin in the books to me, but I digress).

What that means for me - in terms of understanding Jem as a character and headcanons and what-if’s for AUs even:

So we know Jem’s family moved to Shanghai (from London implied) because Jonah was offered the job as head of institute (and btw what’re his qualifications, why this random white Englishman for the Shanghai institute???) Jem learned Mandarin from his mother, which means his mother is likely originally from somewhere that spoke Mandarin. Maybe Beijing? (I remember Jia Penhallow nee Ke is from Beijing, right?)

Because if Wen Yu did speak Shanghainese, why wouldn’t she teach her son, when they had no reason to believe they would ever move away from Shanghai? Was Beijing Mandarin then already the shadowhunter standard in China long before the mundane government standard? If it gets clarified in LBotW that Wen Yu is from Shanghai but somehow she doesn’t speak Shanghainese then Cassie better give me a good explanation lol

But what of Jem’s tutors when he was growing up? Did they know how to speak Shanghainese? Did Jem pick up bits and pieces of the language, did he eventually gain a passing understanding of it despite not being able to speak it?

What would it mean for Jem if he actually full on cannot speak or understand Shanghainese, growing up in a city that spoke pretty much only that language? He wouldn’t be able to roam the city or visit markets or converse with local mundanes. He wouldn’t be able to connect. It would make for an even more isolated childhood, on top of being the only child around. There’d be a huge disconnect there, even more than him in London with British mundanes. It would also add different meaning to when he thinks about missing his hometown. What does he miss? The buildings, the scenery, the food. But not the people then. And it would mean more shadowhunter aloofness toward mundanes. What would that say about Jem’s upraising and personality development?

Other option: What if Jem is able to understand Shanghainese though can’t speak it? Who would he have learnt it from - a tutor, local Shanghainese shadowhunters, local mundanes?

Jem learned many languages while he was a Silent Brother (I think is what’s implied). What if he took this time to finally learn Shanghainese, to reconnect with his roots?

Jem’s Mandarin is understood to be the Beijing dialect for more meta reasons, but what if he actually speaks the Southwestern dialect?? Wen Yu killed a bunch of Yanluo’s demon kids lol in Lijiang, a city in Southwest China. What would it mean if his mom was actually originally from Southwest China and spoke that dialect, and passed it on to his son? Would Jem have learned and adapted to current standard Mandarin during his years as Silent Brother? There’s a crackfic here somewhere in which Malec and co. get to Shanghai and expect Jem to act as guide and translator BUT NO ONE IN SHANGHAI CAN EVEN UNDERSTAND WHAT HE’S SAYING -

Final note on Shanghainese and the current Shanghai:

After Mandarin was established as the standard national language and the Beijing dialect the standard pronunciation in the 1930s or 50s, there was a huge push for getting people to speak (only) standard Mandarin. There was a period of time in 70s/80s when schools would be overzealous, and teachers would even ban the speaking of Shanghainese in classrooms. A lot of people from the last generation would grow up not knowing how to speak their parents’ language, or they would neglect to teach their children the language in favor of teaching only Mandarin. This caused the current generation - including me :( - to be mostly unable to speak the language. Most everywhere in Shanghai will speak standard Mandarin, though cab drivers, streetside food vendors, etc, might still be more comfortable speaking Shanghainese. There’s a push now for reeducation, because they fear the language will start to die out at this rate. My grandparents and my mother are all Shanghainese, and they can all speak the language. I can understand Shanghainese fully, but I can barely speak it. It makes me quite sad tbh.

Final final note lol: all this is just me, word-dumping from memory. This is what I remember of the language history of Shanghai, from what I learned and what I’ve heard from my family. This is not academically researched, nor have I fact-checked every single thing, so please don’t take anything I’ve said as absolute!!

On top of this, coming to terms with his own childhood, and dealing with a lifelong recovery from a massive accident in his youth. However, things seem to slowly improve as he unexpectedly grows closer to Grillby, and feelings turn towards the romantic. But there are still things lurking in the Underground that would do them harm.

(the fic mostly focuses on Sans’ childhood trauma dealing with a apathetic Gaster, an mysterious “Accident” he can barely remember in his near-childhood, his developing feeling for Grillby, and their awkward relationship developing and reacting to situations around them. the plot is paced slowly, but I wouldn’t call it a slice-of-life story as there are larger things at play and get slowly revealed as things move forward)

Thunderstruck

Ship?: Reader / Underfell Papyrus

Setting: Classic Timeline with Underfell Sans and Papyrus

It’s the classic timeline, and monsters have been on the surface for almost 2 years already. In the Skeleton household though, Sans and Papyrus have acquired two tag-alongs in the form of Underfell Sans (Red) and Underfell Papyrus (Edge) who have come from a much more violent and desperate timeline with no way of going back. This wouldn’t be so bad, but a lifetime of being on constant alert and being intimidating and scary to everyone, where it once had Edge be the most respected of monsters as Captain of the Royal Guard, now sees him severely emotionally and socially crippled. Unable to make friends due to his learned behaviour of being scary and permanently angry, unable to find work because most monsters AND humans find him too hard to handle, and struggling to find his place in his own family unit, with his relationship with his own brother awkward after so many years of pretending to be “boss and henchman”, a strained relationship with Sans who does not trust him (for admittedly good reason) and with the only person he seems on good terms with being Papyrus (who also represents everything Edge could have been but have no hope of achieving).

Things change when caught in a pretty bad thunderstorm, Reader (you) finds him hiding in an alley outside your apartment. And lucky for him, you’re crazy enough to let a terrified stranger into your home until the weather improves, and even crazier, as you decide once he starts yelling, that you’d like to stay in contact with him.

The story is a slowburn Reader-insert romance, but it’s almost much more than that. Told from Edge’s perspective, it’s a recovery fic more than anything. Recovering from a lifetime of trauma, violence, learned survival behaviours, mending relationships with family, learning to fit into a world that at first seems completely incompatible with you, and finding a place in life. Lots of self reflection, sometimes self loathing, pining, confusion, frustration, brief arguments over stupid petty things, arguments over really IMPORTANT things, and a lot of tenderness, even if you’re not someone to go for Reader-insert stories, I highly recommend this one if only for the characterisation and emotional and psychological exploration, especially for Edge and his relationship to to his brother and the world at large. It definitely sold me on his character in a way I’ve never really considered.

Panic Room

It’s been years since monsters broke the barrier, stormed into Ebott, and forcefully took over, place Toriel as the monarch and cutting the city off from the outside world. Ebott has become a dystopian dictatorship, where humans are second class citizens who can have incredible luxury depending on how useful and accommodating they are to their new monster rules, or simply be exterminated if stepping out of line. Reader (you) have been imprisoned for almost a year, living in torturous conditions, scarred from beatings and with no hope or future to even think of. But due to your spirit of Perseverance, you continue to live, to not give in to despair. One day, Swapfell Papyrus (Rus) wanders into the prison, looking to “buy” himself a human (for reasons unknown to you) and, for whatever reason, picks you.

He brings you home, has you cleaned up, healed up to the best of his ability, and then has the hurdle of trying to present you to Swapfell Sans; the Lieutenant of the Royal Guard and Alphys’ right hand man. On the verge of throwing you out, Sans allows you to stay and work as the maid in his meticulous home. A hard job, but you accept, unwilling to try your luck on the streets of Ebott. And so your new life begins with the brothers, and the longer you work there, the more you learn. You learn more about the very touchy but at his core good-hearted Rus, you learn more about the terrifying and ruthless Sans, and the sadness and desire to show kindness behind his mask, and you learn more about Ebott. About the constant servailence, the propaganda machine, the injustice, the violence, the broken system ruled by the blind and terrible queen.

You don’t know what sort of life or future is in store for you now, but it’s better than the prison (ANYTHING is better than the prison) and just at the edges of reality, where you can’t even see or notice them yet, a change is coming. Invisible and far in the distance, but slowly approaching.

Dirty Laundry

Reader (you) have recently moved to Ebott for a change in life (it being monster central may or may not have something to do with that). It’s been a few months since monsters were freed, and many are integrating with society slowly but surely. One day, while at the laundromat, you find yourself watched by a scary but ultimately nervous and “I don’t know how to laundry!” Swapfell Papyrus.

In time, a friendship forms. He’s a really sweet guy, anxious but eager to please. It would all be very cute if not for the fact that his asshole brother doesn’t seem very pleased with you (or anybody?) “worming their way” into his baby brother’s life. Nevermind that their therapist said they needed time apart! Nevermind that Papyrus has asked him for some space! He’s going to make sure his little brother is safe! Just as he always had.

Besides... if he doesn’t, what else is there for him to do? Leave Papyrus alone? Leave both of you alone? Accept that Papyrus doesn’t need him any more? May not even want him any more?

...would that make him happier?

Fired Up and Bone Weary (Series)

Word Count: various

Complete

A collection of short stories and oneshots, documenting the everyday life and events in Sans, Grillby and Papyrus’ lives, starting underground and early dating, and working its way to surface life and marriage. Mostly just fluffy, slice of life settings, only now and then undercut by misfortune or drama. Dealing with Grillby’s complicated family, trying to manage Sans’ fluctuating depression, and Papyrus’ role and desire for a family. Most of it is just small, everyday happiness though. And the fear that at any moment all of it could disappear with a reset is (most of the time) not thought about.

(I haven’t finished the series myself just yet. I got stuck on the third last story in the series, the one with the most chapters, due to personal reasons. I do plan to finish it at a later date, but at this point in time it hit a little too close to home. I still recommend all of it whole-heartedly, as I doubt other people will react to it the way I did.)

There are also a few oneshots as well as fics I’ve mentioned before (like SSLL for instance which I STILL love and you guys should STILL read!!) but these are the main ones I’m reading/have read at the moment!

If you guys want I can make a list of oneshots too. Just let me know 8′D I also didn’t include people’s tumblr names just in case they didn’t want it spread around for any particular reason, and I didn’t include more than one fanfic per author, I may add some of their other work in another post at some point. But I wanted to give each author equal exposure in this post.

Favorite time of the day: Hmmm… I think late night or really early morning, when you’re awake and nobody else is and it’s just really quiet and calm, and it almost feels like the world is holding it’s breath. When the stars are coming out, or that point when you can still see Venus just before sunrise; either right after or just before the birds finish/start singing. It just feels so relaxing and soothing to me in a way (Wahhh poetic as - I’m gonna leave that there cause people should read that)

My answer : During daylight savings, at a particular place where I used to live for like a year, the time between 4-5 ish and just it was completely golden hour and that was beautiful. The time before the world wakes up too - just before. Shepard’s delight too.

Okay so initial early tribe assessment: Alex: really strong player, kinda scary kinda gentle. likely first boot if we lose. Looking at the cast list I know literally no one lmao. The only person I recognise is Madison who i played a mini with and we literally sent two messages to each other. I'm hoping that not knowing anyone might work in my favour because it means I'm willing to work with anyone. I just really need my tribe to win this first immunity because I fear that I won't have time to form any bonds if we lose and I might be a first boot.

I'm screaming, why is this cast so iconic. Like this tribe is amazing and I have no idea what will happen if we have to go to tribal. Here are my initial thoughts on my tribe: Alex: We have only talked socially in groups, never one on one, but he is cool. Autumn: Love, an icon, a true fave, but also a dangerous player because she is sneaky but if I can get her on my side now, I should be fine for a few rounds. Jay: Queen, another icon, love. This is the first time we have ever really talked but she is one of the nicest people in this community and I want to work with her. Just have to be wary if her, Emily, and Francie get on a tribe together because they will be a power trio (an iconic one, but a very dangerous one). Rebecka: Oh god, seriously another icon. This tribe is too good, she is a strong player and strategic. We need to win immunities when in this tribe because this is a strong group of people and who knows what will happen if we have to go to tribal.

I'm just saying this rn. If I end up on a damn tribe with Alex Crooks, I might lose my mind. He irritates me beyond belief and I really don't want to put up with him. I'm super happy I really only know Madison on my tribe because I want to make new connections with people and not be stuck with the people that I play every game with all the time. I've had it with Emily and Francie joining games together. I love them so much, but like byeeee. I feel like I won't make it far in this game bc of who is in it, but such is life!

Wow. This game started off a bit oddly, especially with all of my inactivity the first day. Despite that, I'm shocked at how the first immunity challenge went! My first immunity challenge ever in soarsa ended badly because of inactivity, but this time we are safe and I get to relax a little and get to know some of the people I'm playing with. Heather is incredible and Emily is so sweet. I trust Brian and Jacob and I wish we communicated more. The tribe is a bit more quiet than I'm used to, and I hope we bond more. I feel very good about this game especially since it's set in Guatemala. If a lot of the hints and challenges are in spanish, I think that I'll be breezing through. Hopefully I can use my knowledge and language to leave an impression on the people and the game itslef. Cheers to a good game!!

Omg I love and hate the lake already haha. I really like the cast and my tribe but the game is off to a rocky start since we lost the Duolingo challenge. I know it's not my fault but I feel like I made a huge miss steak. WHY DIDNT I JUST USE GOOGLE!!! I'm proud of myself for earning so much xp in such a short amount of time but I made it so much harder on myself and easily could've gotten those extra 300 points that would've put us in 3rd place. It's ok though Atitlan is lit and we shall overcome

ALSO I LOVE MY TRIBE!!?! It really feels like a wholesome beautiful Athena reunion and seeing Jay and Timmy again is awesome. And then Rebecka is bae so you really can't go wrong. WE WOOON WOOHOO!!!! I got the best score out of anyone, which is cool in a way but also could be perceived as threatening. I can see the same path that I went down on isle of skye spread out so clearly in front of me and I’m trying to change that. Fuckin tribe mates wouldn’t stop praising me and being so nice and calling me queen when I really didn’t want them to. I tried to deflect because I do NOT want to be seen as the leader again. That’ll probably just lead to an early merge demise once again. Idk how to stop it tho! Julia wasn’t going to be able to contribute much so I just tried to do as much as possible to make up for her and francie and nick were not that far behind. I regret sending my XP score I thought everyone would but they didn’t. I like 4/5 people on the tribe going to tribal so I hope it’s the fifth that goes hope (alex) but while it would break my heart, getting out one of the 4 icons on that tribe would make my life easier. Francie seems to be my closest ally at this point but also Sammy. But idk if I trust francie completely like she’s made it so far on Mongolia and did an awesome idol play and shit and she’s obviously really good at the game. However that could mean that if I’m her closest ally that’s good for me! But emily is also in this game and everyone knows how good she is. And also her and francie are f4 in Mongolia right now and seem to be closely working together so that poses a serious threat to me being francie’s #1. It’s going to be weird playing with heather and Tim because I’m good friends with both and would love to work with them but if I blindside them/they do it to me would it affect our relationship? I’d like to think no. AnnMarie and I left on super great terms in ios so there’s potential there. And then there’s Madison who everyone and their goddamn mother has worked to apologize and appease her in the reunion chat for voting her out but it’s like girl COME ON you could try to be a little less bitter about it. I never once apologized and tbh I do not regret voting her out in the slightest and I hope I get to do it again this game! I know some people viewed it as a not smart move but it was helpful to us and boosted our confidence and whatever! Doesn’t matter anymore. But I know she still holds a grudge towards me somewhat and I’m gonna either get my throat cut by her or work with her so we’ll see how that goes. And there’s also jay, my host mom. Idk man she said she’s here to play and play without limits or hesitation and I feel a really close bond with her but I know that has to be set aside for the game. There’s people here I’m totally sure she’s closer to so I’d have to appeal to her on a game level on why we should align. But maybe we won’t. On one hand, she said this is the last one she’ll be playing for awhile and I’d LOVE to see her win and do great because I love her and want her to do well as my friend!! On the other hand I want her to go pre-merge on a tribe I’m not on so that my biggest emotional threat and also probably the biggest threat in the game can be gone without the blood on my hands. I’m just glad I won’t be first boot. If our tribe goes to tribal it’ll probably be nick but it may be Julia because of the challenge but who knows about the next one! Oh my god, what happened?? Are you okay?

...I guess? Apparently I had really low potassium so they couldn’t just blame it on “oh ur a girl haha it’s just stress chill out” as a result of low magnesium, which...on one level is absurd considering how many magnesium-rich foods I regularly eat, but then again, with a little interwebs digging I did discover that modern foods and produce - even the healthiest varieties - can have 20-80% less magnesium than they did half a century ago due to poor soil maintenance. Even super-healthy folks may need to supplement. (And, um...I’m actually already taking a 300mg magnesium capsule with breakfast every morning, so. Like. What even.)

So they gave me a mag sulfate drip and a bunch of oral potassium and a little Ativan because I was still feeling shaky and awful several hours later, but they were like, “Welp, we tested everything and it looks fine, so just go see a doc and kthxbye!”

The last time I was hospitalized was when I had epic stomach flu in the third grade. I do not have health insurance or Scrooge McDuck’s gold pile, so I did NOT want to resort to this. But I’d been feeling great in the morning - I even had breakfast, and some Saturdays mornings I’ve skipped breakfast to get a head start on grocery shopping with no consequences!! - and of course I was doing my errands in the cool of the day, so no major exertion or sweating, and I always take water with me everywhere I go. (Take a kriffin’ sip, babes.) Didn’t have more coffee than I ever usually do (a small latte early in the morning, a small cold brew a few hours later). By midday I was starting to feel a little tired but I was like, I always get tired pretty easily, especially right after my work week, nbd. Then I was a little lightheaded and weird, but I still thought, eh, I’m almost done, I’ll go home and eat lunch and veg on the couch for a while and recover. While Mom was cooking lunch, #well that escalated quickly. I was feeling very lightheaded, weak, shaky with major chills, and my heart was going like 200mph. The overstimulation even gave me a couple of stomachaches in a row and I had to almost crawl to the bathroom to go deal with that (but no diarrhea, thankfully). I really couldn’t stand up without wanting to feel on the verge of passing out. I was pretty sure if I went to an urgent care clinic they wouldn’t be able to do much for me on the spot. So I finally made the decision to have Mom call 911 - and believe me, I felt reeeeeeally stupid doing so even considering how horrible I felt - and my heart rate was between 130-150 when the paramedics/firefighters were checking me. (Not the most extreme, but that’s totally abnormal when I’m horizontal on the couch and then just barely standing up.)

So yeah. Not the most terrible thing ever, but it was scary as hell and it turned out I did have a legitimate medical need (and yeah, electrolyte imbalances like this are definitely things you don’t wanna screw around with, they can be lethal).

They said I wasn’t anemic or diabetic, no infections, weak positive on clotting factors but a chest CT scan for pulmonary embolism came up normal, and thankfully my blood pressure was fine too. (TBH, though, I’d want a second opinion on the diabetes, since Mom has it full-blown and I cannot handle carbs well at all - I can’t believe I’m not insulin resistant/prediabetic to some degree. But that’s a whole other pickle.) All they found was the low mag/K.

They acted like I should feel better right away once they finished treatment, but I still feel crappy and not myself. : / I’ve been exhausted all day today and I’ve had headaches on and off, and my pulse has consistently stayed in the 90+ range instead of chillaxing (my normal rate is mid-upper 70s). I didn’t want to, but I did ask to have the day off from work tomorrow.

Like...this just pisses me off. I see so many other people around me who can freely trash their health, eating whatever they damn well please and they’re fine. They’re great. (For now, anyway.) I can’t even enjoy the simple pleasure of a small piece of cake or even a delicious sandwich with hearty crusty bread, or a little ice cream cone. On top of that, I already regulate my diet a lot and am very careful and eat plenty of vegetables, dark leafy greens, legumes, local farm eggs, whole fruits in modest portions (because even though they have fiber and nutrients it’s still sugar), antibiotic-free chicken, grass-fed beef, tuna and salmon, minimal dairy, organic coffee in moderation, yada yada yada. And it’s still not enough.

Just...fuck. Fucking fuck me. And now I have to deal with the financial fallout from this one little incident. I’m supposed to go get established with a doctor, but I honestly don’t want to do that before I know how much I owe and what kind of payment plan I can work out with the hospital (and I’m really just expecting a doctor to say, “oh ur a girl haha it’s just stress chill out” and I’d rather not fork over $100+ for that).

In the meantime, I’m self-medicating with a supposedly more bio-available magnesium supplement that I picked up today along with my prescription potassium. If that’s all it really is, $12 is a hell of a lot more affordable than a doctor visit. I’ll see how it goes.

1. What was your first fic and could you stand to reread it today? I’ve written my very first fanfic like 15 years ago. It was some Harry Potter crap and I’m just glad that thing is gone for good. But honestly, I’ve reread some of my old fanfics and IT WAS A HUGE MISTAKE

2. What’s your most recent fic and how far do you think you’ve come? I guess it’s Burial at Sea and Barriers to Trans-Dimensional Travel (and How to Break Them), both a Supernatural/Bioshock crossover. I’m stuck on chapter 3 so far and ugh I’m a terrible person.

3. In your opinion, what’s your best fic? Oohh, that’s a hard one. In this very moment, I’m very fond of my messiah!Sam verse and I can’t wait to write more about it.

1.) What’s better, having high expectations or having low expectations? Low expectations. That way if shit goes south you expected it but if it actually works out it’s a pleasant surprise.

2.) Would you rather go without junk food for a year or go without TV for a year? TV, if by that you mean no watching TV shows since I barely do that anyway. If you mean go without using a TV entirely, probably junk food.

3.) Describe your perfect man/woman. I honestly don’t have one. Just someone I click with who can be my best friend and will take the good with the bad, because there’s a lot of bad unfortunately. I suck lol.

4.) Thoughts on school dress codes?
