Deep sighs echo through the giant room, walls with a shiny blue sheen glowing under the light of the fake sun, shining brightly in contrast to the gloomy expressions on the faces of everyone present. "We've warned them not to go past the barrier, and most are smart enough not to disobey when they've seen what happened to our people." They shake their heads, some with arms crossed and their brows the arched with concern and fury, thinking back on the brave souls who had made it home, away from the insistent attacks from those... Pirates-- that's what those humans had called themselves.

"Konche still hasn't returned. He might be-..."

One figure turns, expression blank as he silently tries to walk out of the hall. But he's stopped with a heavy 'wait right there', and he gives a defeated roll of his shoulders, turning back to the elders of his kin.

"You don't know what humans will do if we attack them," the old man starts grimly. They are weaker by nature but stronger in numbers, they have always spoken this truth and he... lifts his head, eyes cold amethyst and pink, stopping any more words from the elder. He knew better than anyone here what they could do to them, the Lemurians. Because they knew this, knew of his failure, the pity in some and the understanding in others, he is able to walk out without another word. It is the rule of the Deep Sea. It is a survival of the fittest. If one doesn't attack first, they will become prey to bigger fish.

Luckily for them, in their seas, they had the advantage.

"Rafayel!"

A bluenette runs towards him from the direction of Whalefall city, stopping before him. Algie, her beautiful braid coming loose, looks up at him with the same look of hope and determination, fiery rage in her eyes just as bright as she steps up towards him. "Are you going up there? I'll come with you, help you distract them if you need! Those greedy humans, they deserve to be capsized and eaten by the sharks for taking my little brother!" Rafayel lets out a silent huff through his nose, much preferring this over the dull atmosphere within the hall. "No, I'll make a better distraction," he starts with a wave of his hand, watching as the woman looks ready to fight him in protest. "I need you to take Konche back safely while I deal with them." Since they don't know what state he is in.

With an understanding nod, they swim out towards the edge of the barrier where the usual sea creatures standing guard let them pass without a knock back behind the gates, rushing up to the top. Algie looks around, on high alert and scrunching her nose in distaste as thunder crashes on the surface of the raging sea. A perfect setting, and he signs, directing Algie to the side of the ship while he floats up, emerging through the waves and standing still on the surface as the waves by his feet go still under his power. The ship is already unstable, swaying from side to side as tall waves crash on its side, water filling the deck as it slowly sinks, and sinks. The sea knows, there is fury burning under his skin.

"There's something out there!"

Finally, he's seen. Tilting his head up with a languid toss to the side, he raises his hand and pulls a flute out from his sash. The sharp melody pierces through the storm, his eyes giving the shortest of glances towards Algie who climbs the side of the ship and onto deck, covered in a thick cloak as she blends in, hidden from the pirates running to stare at his show as she finds her brother. It is easy, to play a daring tune that weaves itself through the air, into the water which heeds his calls.

One by one, tendrils of water crash into men.

As soon as they are within the sea, no level of swimming prowess could save them from the water entering their lungs, pressure pulling them downwards as if the water was sentient and was punishing those who wronged its children. If only that were the truth.

The water calms as the sound of his flute ceases, the loud splash of water catching his attention and he sees the vibrant glow of scales as Konche is plunged into the sea with Algie's arms wrapped tightly around him. The ship now sways, eerily quiet in the night as pelts of rain continue to drip. Rafayel takes a languid stroll towards the ship, hand reaching up to touch the engravings on the side, another step as he stares at the anchor the size of a whale's child. Then he hears it, a spurting sound followed by coughs. A survivor, one that he looks down at and blinks slowly. Hmm... it wouldn't hurt to bring someone in for questioning.

It doesn't matter if he dies, or lives. If left here to fend for himself, he would easily be eaten up by the waves in seconds before the fish even got to him. But out of curiosity and the lingering anger running through his veins, he crouches down, feet balanced on the surface of the water as he reaches out, tilting the man's face up by the chin like one would to a pet. He was a bit ugly, but not as much as the others he saw knocked off the ship.

"Do you want to live?"

No matter his answer, Rafayel simply shrugs and picks him up by the arm, tossing him into the Deep Sea.

Run, gamble and forget about it as much as you want but you’re not going to rid of the memories of him. It doesn’t matter how much you act cheerful and happy you’ll still remember him. You cant keep ignoring it knowing that one day you’re not going to be able to keep up with bottling all these feelings inside.

Though there aren’t any canon interactions (that i know of..?) to go off of, I imagine they’ve got a volatile dynamic, which i find fun and full of potential. Taking a moment to Recall Them As They Are:

Edgeworth is probably at the top of his cunt game. This man is fresh off 10+ years of Von Karma’s teachings and certain he’s hot shit. Also he’s fucking 20. So. Repressed, stuffed full of twisted dogmas, sporting a fucked up ego, and equipped with an unhealthy conviction and ability to send wrongdoers directly into the fires of hell. He is an Experience and most probably not a good one, but one you will never forget.

>Enter Player 2: Phoenix f*cking Wright, also a bitch, but WORSE- he is a bitch BABY. No, he’s not a child or a sweet little baby boy. His emotions are still on full display while also being just about the most stubborn fucker you could ever meet. If Dahlia- DAHLIA -couldn’t gasboss gatelight girlkeep a goddamn necklace off his neck, then there is no hope for the rest of us. He saw a picture of Edgeworth at his Peak Cuntliness and a headline accurately describing said cuntitude and more or less said “I can fix him anyway”.

So basically to me they have the delightful dynamic of immovable object vs unstoppable force. I want to see them clash and cause comical chemistry lab explosions that singe their eyebrows and come out of it furiously making out.

WELL this one was supposed to be released by now but I have had the absolute delight of needing to write confronting truths to the worst sorts of people. Menace is a way of life. I bring you this. I don’t know what to title it. Weeping Lizards? Sodden Hole? Muddy Salt? Help. I blame @emmg for its creation this is your fault. We’re in Hossberg and Emmrich is crying over a muddy hole that reminds him of Worne (Rook).

“Now, please, I have to see to Emmrich, shoo. Everyone’s off.” Rook motioned it with a flick of his hands this time; well aware he might have better luck physically urging the ground below to trot on before budging the Qunari. Thankfully Taash needed no further encouragement and long strides were soon taking them past Emmrich. They paused at a shout from behind.

Rook, calling like a concerned parent, “And get something nice for Lace first!” Taash waved back, looked over their shoulder, regretted that once the Warden started mouthing further instructions, what was he saying? “Floooowers.” And he was pointing at himself, and at Emmrich and. Taash rolled their eyes. Took a moment to turn and mouth back an exaggerated but silent, “Nooooo.”

Rook flipped them off, they sent two back. Rook’s eyes went wide, and he pointed a stiff finger at them. Taash groaned and rolled their head full round. Mouthed a “Fiiiiine.” And finally disappeared down the path back to Lavendell.

The Warden quickened his step. Emmrich hadn’t moved in the time it took to send Taash away for errands. The mage remained locked in place, red and wet faced, staring long at a muddy hole.

Rook didn’t question it, did his best to not startle him, that hazel gaze was far, far away. “Emmrich.”The hushed tone was followed by a soft touch. Fingers entered at waist, trailed up the spine until they went up to hold that opposite shoulder steady, gave a firm grip, a gentle pull towards the rogue. The necromancer was trembling, Rook eased into a shape that fit close, that first touch a needle of first stitch, and like thread he pulled them flush together.

Emmrich didn’t startle, seemed to expect him, subtle movements meeting Rook as he settled into the Warden’s hands finding their way to their places. Still, he kept a bit tense, hands tight together in front. White knuckled as he spoke sniffing,

“Rook. Darling, it’s…look, I…” and then Emmrich laughed, piercingly loud, a wincing crack that made Rook flinch to a confused smile. But the noise was manic prelude, and it was swallowed in the sob that drove it free. The mage’s eyes welled, wet trails provided easy paths for fresh tears as flood resumed. He turned his head down and into Rook, lips quivering to recall words. Shine on his face wrenching the rogue’s gut, Rook listened, attentive as possible, but the necromancer’s trembling smile stretched the sounds.

Emmrich’s hands unclenched from each other and dove round Rook in a desperate clinging embrace. The Warden answered with whispered soft ‘shhhh’s’ and diligently caressed the tall man’s back. They held there for long moments, Rook bearing their weight as the quivering necromancer eased into fewer wails and more whimpers.

Blubbering, mumbling, further shuddering chuckles, but eventually, helped by Rook’s firm embrace, calming touch, and steady pace of lungs, the breaths came even enough for thoughts. Emmrich squeaked out, “...it reminded me of you.”

He gestured towards the filthy hole. And then a lizard popped its head out. Mud obscured its sight, some kind of weed stuck to its chin, and its big dumb face was wide, letting nary a thought bother its whim. Emmrich snorted. Then started weeping again.

Still losing my absolute mind over the whole bathroom thing with regards to transgender people. “Ew we can’t let this woman who was born male but otherwise is entirely a woman into female restrooms, what if it’s secretly a man preying on the women??”

You’re hilarious.

1. I have been harassed more time outside of a bathroom by cis man than I ever have a trans woman in a ladies bathroom. I know that based on personal experience however I think you’ll find that’s a majority-favoured experience.

2. Your statement, when picked apart, shows that trans women are not the problem. I’ll break it down for you. You are scared of someone with male genitalia sneaking into a bathroom to SA women or otherwise attack them. That is what a cis man dressing as a woman with an ulterior motive would do. That is not what a trans woman would do. A trans woman would go into the bathroom, do her business, wash her hands, and leave. You are afraid of men breaking into a bathroom, not a woman trying to use a restroom.

3. Let’s prove this further, shall we. By putting action in place to stop trans women using bathrooms and forcing them to use the wrong bathroom, you are intentionally putting them with cisgender men that you have fed the bullshit lie that these women are dangerous. They will now be more likely to be attacked because it will look like a woman has walked into the wrong restroom.

4. Lastly, and most important. You are worried that a man is going to sexually assault or otherwise harm women in a private space. That is an illegal act. Why the fuck do you think making it illegal for transgender women (not even the perpetrators) going into the bathroom is going to stop anyone? They’re already committing an illegal act by hurting the women, why would they care if they aren’t supposed to be in there? These laws are specifically being put in place to endanger transgender women.

It is absolutely mind-boggling how stupid this argument is when you pick it apart, and yet here we are. Also how are they planning on enforcing that? Telling people to drop trou before they can go into the shitty mall restroom? Because hey guess what, that’s a government-sanctioned criminal offence!
