Jongho as an easily jealous bf (who is dom) 🙈
hmmm, i see that we have a possessive dom jongho enthusiast here 👀 and who could blame you really, all that strength and muscle just invites the desire to be properly put in your place by the stoic man, so here you go <3
warnings: possessive dom Jongho, jealousy, light light choking, face fucking, mean jong, degradation
now, i think Jongho wouldn't really mind close friends, but to anyone else you'd be strictly off limits. even under normal circumstances he's hard to read, but anytime he'd deem someone as too eager to get closer to you, he'd turn into an intimidating mass of muscle and sharp eyes, standing behind you like your own personal bodyguard and unnerving all the poor sods around you, while you were none-the-wiser
of course you'd notice the occasional possessive squeeze of his hands, the way he'd suddenly tightly wrap his arms around you or push you closer to his side - but he'd never be sure whether you were really just naive or whether you sometimes provoked him on purpose just to have that reaction out of him - nevertheless, most of the times you'd be blissfully unaware to all the poor excuses of guys who were clearly trying to hit on you right in front of his eyes and once in a while someone would be brave enough to try even with him staring daggers into anyone getting a little too close
like your annoying coworker right now, that's been talking to you since you came to this Halloween party, even though you were clearly here with your boyfriend - a fact of which Jongho obviously had to remind you, judging by the smiles and laughs falling out your lips at his desperate attempts to joke around and flirt
if you'd ask him, he'd tell you he's most definitely fine, he's not jealous, not even irritated - of course he's completely cool with the fact that someone thinks he's good enough to pry for your attention when that's supposed to belong to him. but he'd let you, time how long it would take you, and with every second ticking by of you not turning back to him, he'd plan another little surprise for you for when you returned home. he's not jealous, he's totally fine.
i think Jongho wouldn't be the type to make a scene or ostentatiously show off your relationship or his mark, i think he'd bide his time and watch you dig yourself deeper into trouble, jaw growing tighter and eyes colder, until you finally glanced back and saw his tense form and disapproving gaze and you'd known there'd be a long night in front of you
but the moment you'd set out to leave, his hand grabbing yours in an iron grip and tense smile that barely passes as polite on his lips while he pulled you from the little rat of a man, it would be a completely different story.
just seconds after the apartment door locked behind you, he'd be on you, immediately pushing you towards the bedroom without a second thought. once there, he'd go to grab your face, smushing your cheeks between his fingers while his eyes burst with the hidden fire he did so well to mask while outside.
"now, who was that, angel? i know you didn't just spend your entire evening with a man clearly flirting with you while i watched from the other side of the room."
"just a coworker, sir."
the fact that you always caught on so quickly and started using the honorific was one of the reasons why he couldn't shake that you weren't as innocent in this as you played up to be, but he couldn't deny how much it stoked the desire within him when you submitted so easily every time
"oh, is that right? and flirting with him is a part of your job?" but before you could even answer he'd already be pushing you down to the floor by your throat, still keeping his firm grip on your face so he could angle it towards his crotch. "no matter, pet, i think you'll find it hard to run your mouth with other guys when i'm filling it with my cock. seems like you could use the reminder of who you belong to."
it would be your job to get him fully hard, and he didn't like it when you used your hands - since you were so mouthy, it was only fair you put it to good work - and it usually wouldn't take long before he was pulling his trousers down and without any preamble pushing his hard cock into your mouth. if in the surprise your teeth caught onto him, he'd tighten his grip on your neck minutely as a warning
of course after the stunt you pulled you didn't deserve any reprieve, and he'd done a lot to train your throat (only shows how many times he had to put you in your place, you just wouldn't learn) so he'd gather your hair in a grip and start a rough pace, pushing into your throat until you were choking and gurgling around him, squeezing the tip of his cock in your contracting throat
and you loved every second of it, sometimes he'd even doubt you took this as the punishment it was for indulging flirts from other men, especially when he watched from above as your eyes rolled back and your slutty moans reverberated on his cock and drove him crazy with the vibrations
Jongho was strong, and he never shied away from using it against you, especially when he held your head firm in his grip while pumping his hips into your mouth in reckless abandon, not caring at all about anything else than his own pleasure, taking your moans and sobs in stride, and he wouldn't stop until he felt his balls tighten and his load spurted down your throat, forcing you to swallow with your nose smushed against his navel and the throbbing cock pushed as deep inside as it could go
pulling off, he'd let you crumble onto the floor with your face covered in tears and spit and cum, coughing and fighting for every breath, while he sat down on the bed and looked at you like you were pathetic
you knew better than to try and touch yourself, but sometimes you couldn't stop your fingers from pressing onto your clit through your clothes to alleviate the pulsing pleasure, only to have Jongho tsk at you and push your hand away with his foot still clad in his nice dress shoes
"no no no, angel, you've been such a slut and you think you deserve to cum tonight? i taught you better than this..."
"i'm sorry, sir" it would be no more than a croak from your abused raw throat, but he'd take it nonetheless
and it would take only a single look into his eyes and you'd see he was nowhere near done with you that night, the fire of jealousy and irritation still burning through his irises as he watched you like his prey
there we have our first ask of the hard hours!! hope you enjoyed some dom Jongho <3 you don't have to be shy, come tell me what you desire xoxo

Has anyone asked you about erisol?
If no, then what's your opinion on them! :-)
I feel like people will be upset at me for this, but a completely platonic and completely lukewarm mutual dislike... they don't really like each other, but take no great issue with each other either. The boys are not fightingggg
So like. A common thing in fandoms is taking things at face value and not really reading any deeper into them. You see this a shitton with Eridan in general - lots of people take it 100% at face value that he's a casteist genocide liker, when it's pretty clear upon further examination that he's pretty much lying about being casteist and doesn't actually want to murder his friends. So, at face value, Eridan hates Sollux, and either wants to do spadesies with him, or go ashen with him. And so this has become a really popular ship, but the thing is... at basically every turn, the story kind of goes out of its way to point out that there's actually nothing between them. At least romantically.
See, Eridan does not actually hate Sollux, at least not to the level of pitch/ashen. TWICE before Sollux and Feferi start hanging out all the time, we see Eridan commenting on Sollux in a fairly neutral-negative way - the first time calling him "a drama machine" and noting that "it is fuckin pathetic," and the second time as "the dead guy who saved [Feferi]". And let's be clear about the former, Eridan is just kind of Like That, he's rude as fuck even about people he LIKES (calling his BFF Karkat an "assblood" and sarcastically referring to Feferi by her royal titles), so that's actually one of the less nasty things he's said about someone.
Meanwhile, on Sollux's end, he LITERALLY says "not interested" to what he perceives as pitch/ashen advances from Eridan. Like, actually just says those words out loud. Not even in a pesterlog, he actually just says those words with his mouth.
So it seems to me that there's a pretty clear case to be made here that Eridan and Sollux kind of just... don't really give a shit about each other, and probably wouldn't have interacted in any substantial way if not for Feferi's involvement. Especially because Eridan's chosen method of hitting on Sollux is with casteism, something he's already faking in the first place.
If we really want to dig into this, though, it's kind of - in my eyes - a lukewarm case of the hedgehog dilemma. They're a bit too similar, and it winds up causing them both mild pain to get too close.
They're both nihilists that kind of hate themselves. Sollux's mutated brain causes him a not-insignificant amount of discomfort, his visions of the future and of the "imminently doomed" have made him lose a lot of hope, and he blames himself for killing Aradia, something so painful that he didn't tell anyone else she died, to the point where most of the team - including Terezi and Tavros - had to find out after entering the game. Meanwhile, Eridan struggles with the perceived inevitability of a lifestyle that causes him nothing but distress, and his constant, overwhelming anxiety about it leads to constant stressing over whether or not he's "good enough"; whenever he's in severe emotional distress, he starts beating up on himself.
They also both front at being more okay with their problems than they actually are. Sollux has his 1337 hacker, two cool for you persona that he puts on, and Eridan is always trying to be the big bad sea dweller. For example, Sollux goes "I'm not trolling the humans, it's beneath me," but he's in Jade's trollslum, so the implication there is that he totally did try trolling, it went badly for him, and now he's pretending that he was always better than that. And I don't think I need to tell you how hard Eridan works to try and present himself as badass and scary and totally not deep in the throes of emotional anguish at all times.
And these are the similarities that ultimately make Erisolsprite so stable. Erisolsprite speculates that maybe the reason he hasn't exploded yet is that deep down, he loves to suffer. The truth is, there's nothing between the two that's really so objectionable that they would ACTUALLY hate each other; Eridan isn't actually casteist, and Eridan never really hated Sollux in the first place.
Neither would they bring each other any comfort or joy - Eridan doesn't have any sympathy for Sollux's baggage, since, like, what, he only killed ONE person, and was even under mind control, so it's not like it was really his fault. He's a drama machine. And Sollux wouldn't have sympathy for Eridan's problems, partially because they manifest in such cringeworthy, embarrassing ways (and Sollux is highly sensitive to not being cringe, seeing as he's always commenting on other people being embarrassing or overly earnest), and partially because - I mean, fuck it, he's a rich-ass sea dweller who doesn't need to worry about being harvested to be a battery for a living ship. And also he's an idiot.
That's kind of what their relationship is to me, you know? A tepid and lukewarm dislike. They're just similar enough to each other to understand the other, and just different enough to be like "ugh, but that guy suuuuuuuucks". It's very funny, but not really a ship, hahaha.
So what you really get from that is two guys that just kind of dislike each other. Not vehemently or diametrically enough for pitch or ashen, and not a trace of the requisite pity for flushed or pale. When you throw the two together into one sprite, it won't shut up about how much it hates itself, how each part of itself is flabberghasted by the other, and how much practically the only reason it doesn't explode is a resounding "meh."
Eridan likes to validate his despair; ironically, since it's all he's ever known, it's where he feels comfortable - and nobody would provide better doomscrolling material than the doom player. Similarly, Sollux likes to torment himself, suffering his guilt in silence, and Eridan has SO MUCH to feel guilty over. Combine them into one entity, and you have a guy who can reach SUCH levels of revelling in his own misery, you don't even KNOW.
Not that it's healthy or positive for either of them... just that it would be incredibly stable. It's their worst tendencies being satisfied by each other. Maybe that's a form of leprechaun romance, but it's certainly not a quadrant.
#homestuck#eridan ampora#sollux captor#admittedly sollux is one of the trolls i'm still working on grasping#and this post should also in no way be taken as 'stop shipping them' because idfc#ship what you want who cares hussie has already been driven away with jeering and sneering#i just was always kind of fascinated by the endurance of the ship#despite pretty much every piece of canon involving these two pointing to the fact that they just. kind of dont like each other#but in a platonic way

Masturbation May - Day 3b: In the Shower (Satan)
A/N: Satan was suggested for day 3 by an anonymous sender! I couldn't quite decide the direction I wanted for this initially but finally just settled on some good ol stress relief via orgasm lol.
Featuring: GN reader || Satan x reader
Warnings: masturbation; some jealous Satan; mentions of marking and breeding (not specific to reader); just some much-needed self-assurance and stress relief in the shower~
Word count: 1411
══════════════════
Satan just needed some kind of stress relief. He knew it was just his temper, easier and quicker to rile up thanks to his sin. But it seemed like everything was going wrong lately, getting on his nerves and pushing him to the edge of exploding. Lucifer was yelling at him about something or other, his favorite cat café had to close early because of an emergency with the owner, and his brothers were all getting into silly, nonsense arguments with each other.
Normally, these things alone wouldn't be enough to make him snap completely. But to top it all off, you had gone on a trip to the Human Realm with Solomon two weeks ago, supposedly for some training and gathering some items specific to your home. In your absence, the House of Lamentation always fell into chaos, no one to buffer the ridiculousness and provide a voice of reason.
Satan knew he shouldn't blame you, or use you as a means of resolving everyone's problems. But your presence was like a magic balm, easing his spirit and always managing to wrestle the others into compliance. And now all this pent up stress was leaving aches in his muscles and gave him a near constant migraine.
He couldn't even focus on his books, attempting to read through various tomes on his ever-lasting quest for the perfect curse for Lucifer, but realizing halfway through that he wasn't absorbing any of the information. He snapped the heavy book shut in anger, sending out a plume of dust that covered his upper half. Satan coughed and set the book aside.
Great, now he was both dirty and angry.
Trying to keep his boiling rage contained, he quickly gathered clean clothes and made his way to the bathroom, hoping against all odds that no one else was in there, or he'd really snap for good. Thankfully, the room was clear, and he quickly undressed as the water grew hot.
Once he was in the water, he sighed, the heat helping to relieve his aching muscles. Although he wouldn't admit it, he often wondered about taking up an offer from Asmo for a spa treatment. He was sure he needed it, and that it'd probably do wonders for his temperament, at least for a little while. Relaxation of the body is supposed to help relaxation of the mind, he figured.
Sadly, the relief didn't last long as his now unbusied thoughts kept going back to all the annoying things happening lately. He just wanted one day of peace, of not being nagged by Lucifer for sneaking in a stray cat, or not hearing the constant whine of Levi hounding Mammon for his money. And thinking of you, he hated being away from you for so long. It was unfair that you had left him, not to mention traveling with Solomon.
Although he was usually secure in his relationship with you, something still bothered him about you being alone with the Witty Sorcerer for so long. Not that Satan didn't trust you, he knew you would never cheat on him. But he wasn't always sure he trusted Solomon and his flirty, flowery words.
Just thinking of it made his skin itch, picturing Solomon trying to court you, to take you from him. Even though he knew he was completely blowing it out of proportion, the thoughts came unbidden to him. The next time he saw you, Satan resolved he'd have to leave his mark on you, to ensure no one, especially Solomon, could ever mistake who you belong to.
The more he thought of marking you, the faster his blood pumped, something ancient and instinctual waking up in his veins. He wanted to cover you in his scent, make sure all anyone else could smell for miles was him. He wanted to leave his fang marks in your skin, leave dark hickeys across your neck and chest, somewhere highly visible so no one could mistake his intentions.
Even better, he wanted to mark you with his seed, cover you outside but especially inside, as deep as he could manage, make sure it could never leave you. It didn't matter if you could get pregnant or not, the deep animalistic need still roared inside him to do it anyway. That final thought sent a throbbing pulse down to his dick, and Satan didn't even realize he was completely hard until his hand was already subconsciously wrapping around his cock and stroking.
He wanted you there, he needed to show you that he was all you ever needed. He was your mate, your lover, and everything you ever wanted, he would provide to you as long as you'd let him. He would show you, he could pleasure you a thousand times over with the way he knows your body, so that no one, especially Solomon, could ever compare.
Satan cursed. Now he was so hard it hurt, needing you in his arms, and on his cock, immediately. The rest of his body was relaxed but now all the ache sat in his groin, begging to be inside of you. You weren't due to be home for another week, and he knew there was no ignoring his erection at this point, so he settled for relieving himself for now, already formulating a plan of attack (of the pleasurable variety) for once you returned.
He shut the water off and quickly stepped out, thankful that you two kept a spare bottle of lube under the bathroom sink. He poured some on his hand as he re-entered the shower and continued stroking. He felt ridiculous, all pent up over his dumb worries and demonic needs, and wanted nothing more than to drown his worries in the pleasures of your body. Only you seemed to know how to truly relax him, but a fantasy would have to do.
He could just picture it, the moment you came back from your trip, how he'd pull you into his room and make sure you didn't go anywhere until you were thoroughly pleasured and marked by him. He wanted to taste your lips, feel your warm, bare skin against his, hear your affirmations that he was the only one for you. The next time you saw Solomon, Satan wanted it to be obvious that he knew your body inside and out and that Solomon wasn't nearly worthy enough to be your mate.
Now fueled by anger and his lust for you, his thoughts were really letting loose. He wanted you sprawled across his bed, legs tossed over his shoulders as he pounded into you, or maybe he'd have you ride him until you couldn't hold yourself up anymore. Maybe to reassure his worries, you'd take his cock down your throat, knowing how gorgeous you look when you struggle to fit him in your mouth.
He pumped his cock faster, using one hand to hold his base steady and add more pressure, chasing that sweet high. As water droplets dripped from his hair onto his body, Satan imagined pulling you into the shower with him, picking you up to fuck you against the wall, letting your moans and screams of his name echo in the bathroom to ensure everyone in the house knew exactly who was pleasuring you. He'd fuck you as long and as hard as you could stand it, making sure to reach the furthest depths within you, as long as you wanted him.
Satan was now panting as his climax approached, eyebrows furrowed in concentration. He used the last of his sense to picture bringing you to climax, eager to cum deep inside you, release all his stress into you, and feel you clench around his cock and milk him dry. Just dreaming of achieving that pushed him into that pleasurable zone, and he groaned deep in his throat as he released the first ropes of cum, moving his hand up to work the head of his cock, drawing out every bit of pleasure and cum he could.
He came a surprising amount, likely from lack of release while you'd been gone, and he felt a little sad about the waste as it washed down the drain. But now that his mind was cleared, and his body was well and truly relaxed, he couldn't wait for your return. He was going to make sure everyone knew that you were his, and relieve all his stress with you the way only you could do.

what if Yoriichi gets jealous because his s/o being flirt by other man? like, how would he react?😃
Oooooo. I've already written the opposite scenario, so it'll be interesting to see how things are from the other way around. I think I'm going to do this one in a headcanon format! I hope that works for ya~
Yoriichi as a Jealous S/O
To begin with, he wouldn't vocalize his jealousy at all. His S/O would only be able to tell he's jealous by the way he stares daggers at the other man and acts cold whenever he's brought up
It depends how assertively the man flirts. If it's ambiguous whether he's actually flirting or just being friendly, Yoriichi would let him off the hook. However, if the other man straight up hit on his S/O, he would show a shade of possessiveness by stepping in and telling the man, firmly, to never hit on them again
Generally Yoriichi controls his emotions quite well, but jealousy is one he would struggle with. His S/O would be able to tell something is off by his body language, how he shuts off at the mere mention of this other man. Then, if his S/O confronted him about it, he'd come clean about his feelings, admitting that he simply cannot stand the thought of S/O being with anyone else and he's battling these emotions every day
He would feel some guilt about his jealousy, as it makes it seem like he doesn't trust his S/O. He would reassure his S/O that he completely trusts them to be faithful, but he simply doesn't trust the man to not put his S/O in uncomfortable situations by trying to make a move on them
He would have frequent intrusive thoughts about his S/O cheating on him for this other man, and that would be what bothers him most. The idea of his S/O actually betraying his trust like that. The sheer thought of it would have him falling to the ground and folding in two, clutching at his chest. He would only be able to console himself by doing about the only thing that'd bring his mind tranquility, which is practicing his swordfighting in his garden and focusing on his breathing
If things went on long enough, he would one day tell his S/O the truth about how the other man makes him feel. It would happen quite randomly; as he and his S/O enjoy a cup of green tea together, he would tell them everything. He was usually so quiet, but he wouldn't be able to bottle his emotions up forever, so he would tell them, relaxed, without leaking an ounce of actual emotion, simply laying down the facts so that his S/O knows where his head is at
Despite how much he dislikes his S/O's relationship with this flirty other man, he wouldn't dissuade his S/O from being friends with him as he recognizes that'd be a controlling move and he doesn't want his S/O to lose out on any friends just because he's unable to control his jealousy
He'd mostly blame himself for his jealousy. However, if the man ever tried to make a move on his S/O, Yoriichi would definitely step in and scorn the man for trying to take someone who's already in a relationship, as this is a very dishonorable move and Yoriichi is all about honor. In fact, I think that's one of the things that'd bother him most of all, that the idea of someone trying to take his S/O is so dishonorable and sneaky that it makes him feel sick
Ultimately, Yoriichi would get jealous and it would hurt him, but with good communication between him and his S/O, they could work through it as his trust and devotion for his S/O would be far beyond his feelings of envy. That being said, he would step in and behave possessively if someone tried it on with his S/O ----- I hope this was a good interpretation of the situation, anon! I think Yoriichi is a really kind and reasonable man who wouldn't want to cause too much trouble for his partner, even if he was going through intense bouts of jealousy. I'm confident that he'd be committed to working things out, too. Thank you for the ask! <3

Yandere Cassian Headcanons (Romantic)
''You are everything I ever wanted and I will protect you with everything in me.'' — Cassian.
❝ ⭐ — lady l: Do I have a soft spot for him? I have. Can you blame me? Probably not. Ah, I hope you like it and forgive me for any mistakes! ❤️
❝tw: obsessive and possessive behavior, mention of murder, jealousy, unhealthy relationships.
❝ ⭐pairing: yandere!cassian x gender neutral!reader.
Cassian is very passionate and intense, his feelings are overwhelming and he needs to vent them in one way or another. Usually he does it by fighting, but he needs love. He needs you.
You are everything he ever wanted. It doesn't matter if you're his mate or not, Cassian is completely in love with you and he only wants you.
He can't remember ever wanting someone as much as he wants you. Cassian just knew that he loved you, that he needed you in his life and he wouldn't stop until he got it.
Cassian is a lovesick puppy, basically. He will follow you everywhere with passionate eyes, his wings spreading menacingly to anyone who dares to approach you.
He has no qualms about eviscerating alive anyone who dares to look at you the wrong way. You are all that matters and he will never let you be hurt. And anyone foolish enough to try will regret it very quickly.
He will do anything for you. Anything. Just order and it's yours. Do you want an expensive shoe? It's yours. Do you want a Spring Court rare flower? He'll sneak in there and get it for you. Everything, anything, just ask him.
To say he is overprotective is an understatement, Cassian is completely obsessive when it comes to your safety. Anything that shouldn't be there will be cause for concern and murderous rage. Even if it's just a broken nail, if you weren't the one who broke it, you can be sure that someone will die.
Cassian can't help but be so overprotective, he just wants to take care of you. It's his Illyrian instincts screaming at him to rip apart anyone who poses a threat to you. He's your bodyguard, basically.
He is your biggest fan. If you do anything, he will be rooting for you. If he could, he would wear a t-shirt with your face showing how much pride he has for you. He also constantly seeks your attention and approval.
Cassian would love to train you if you want, although he knows it's dangerous, he wants you to be able to protect yourself if he's not around. He would never forgive himself if something happened to you because he didn't want to teach you how to defend yourself.
Like all males, Cassian is very possessive and jealous and this is nothing new. He gets jealous very easily and generally acts petty about it. In the blink of an eye, he'll be at your side, pulling you into his embrace and staring at whoever made him deathly jealous. No one will take you away from him. No one.
He wants you to be happy with him. That's all he asks. He does not deserve? After all the shit he's been through, Cassian feels like he deserves to be happy and he knows he can only be happy with you. You are everything to him.
Cassian can be called a brute and, although he can often act like that, he is a teddy bear to you. He loves to hold you, hide you in his wings and just be by your side. He needs to always be touching you and not always in a sexual way, he just needs to have confirmation that you are real.
His touches are always soft and gentle on you, as if he's scared of breaking you. Cassian would never forgive himself if he ended up hurting you.
Cassian is a big softie for you. He would never hurt you and would always put you above everything and everyone, including his own family. You are everything to him, his life, his motivation and his reason for breathing. He would die and kill for you in a heartbeat. Cassian just wants to be loved and you are everything he loves, so don't abandon him. He wouldn't react well to that.
He would never force you to stay with him, but Cassian wouldn't let you go. He can't lose anyone else and he won't. You are his and you will always be his.

@buckysleftarm replied to your post:
After reading this, I happened across this video: https://youtube.com/shorts/-X5l5GFeg1k?si=H2lrsmx0pv60wn1h They're not in our camp anymore and I wouldn't know how to view the non companions anyway on PS5, but it feels like she definitely is taking some time off from Selune without breaking her oath full?
I sure did use this reply as an excuse to mash out a giant post! Hope you don't mind.
I do actually love that you've brought this up, because I keep seeing variants of it around and have been wanting to comment on it, if for nothing else than to make me feel better. The gist of it goes something like this: after killing Lorroakan, Aylin's "Child of the Moonmaiden" ability no longer shows up when you examine her character sheet, meaning her immortality has been taken away, she is being punished by her mother, has broken her paladin oath, or is feuding with her in some other way. Now... people in the comments of that video sure have takes on Selûne and on Aylin and on paladin oaths and aasimar abilities in general that make giant question marks spawn above my head.
Personally? I dislike it immensely and think it makes zero sense for a variety of reasons, both in-universe and out! To be fair, as with most headcanons and theories, I'd genuinely love to see someone get creative and do something interesting with it. But I have this knee-jerk reaction to it because so far I've only seen it in the context of people parroting it completely uncritically, just regurgitating it on endless reddit or forum or discord threads and what have you, and actually shutting down or completely derailing Aylin-related discussion. Which frustrates me, obviously, because I want cool, detailed, thought-out takes on my fave, always, and - to be really petty for a moment - since my fave isn't the fandom darling, I only get crumbs to start with! It grinds my gears because so very often I'll want to read this potentially interesting thread about a character I love, but nope, instead here's a dozen comments how "nah man she broke her oath and there's special oathbreaker paladin dialogue with her about it" - no there isn't. That's a very easily verifiable fact, my guy. You made that up, my dude. How dare you just go and make things up on the internet.
A ton of BG3 discussion has been flooded with a weird wave of statements that are just put there as well-known fact but in reality read like "I heard from a friend whose uncle works at the Nintendo Larian department and he told him Halsin went on a special mission and killed Isobel a century ago because he wanted to emotionally compromise Ketheric but then playtesters reacted badly to it and Wizards made them take it out but it's still hinted in the game, and also if you use an Elixir of Hill Giant Strength and do an unarmed attack on the cart at the entrance of the Emerald Grove you can get Mew" and I find it so grating. And then people waste time debunking this and arguing in the same circles and nobody ever moves on to more interesting stuff. I say this, as if I haven't been an active participant of internet fandom for decades and have literally anyone but myself to blame here, hah.
For instance, the way you phrased it here, as Aylin herself taking a break or trying to step away instead of the "being abandoned and punished by her mother" angle from the video and the comments? That's something I think has potential and something I want to rotate in my mind - would she do it? Could she do it? What would this entail and what would it mean for her? What would actually be enough to prompt her to even try? And it's cool that a little gameplay mechanic thingy prompted that! However - and I'm keeping it kinda vague because I don't want to spoil you on things that happen after the point you seem to be at - if we're talking purely established canon things and not brainstorming an AU or a post-game trajectory for this character, there is nothing actually in the game to indicate Aylin is taking a break from Selûne or her duties, especially not to the extent of having any of her abilities suspended. Quite the contrary, in fact. Everything we get from her and Isobel after the Lorroakan situation is handled shows she is, for better or worse, very much resolved to be her old self and very righteously angry and smiting evil in her mother's name as the Sword of Selûne and actively engaged in protecting Selûnites Realms-wide, and she has her full set of powers and blessings while doing so.
In this essay I will In the rest of this post I will try to be less cranky and I'm going to get a bit technical to try to actually explain what is going on with the "Child of the Moonmaiden" ability.
TL;DR: the buff is disabled as soon as Aylin enters the wizard tower, before any fight or backbreaking or feelings of loss and sadness, likely for the purpose of you being able to win or lose the fight no matter if you side with Aylin or betray her. It is a purely mechanical contrivance and has no narrative meaning, nor is its presence or absence mentioned or reflected in the narrative at all.
Here's Aylin in camp just before being told about the wizard:
Here she is at the start of the fight, when she is sided with:
And here she is, when you side against her:
The above is an oversimplification, however, because the actual implementation of Aylin's immortality is a bit of a mess.
There are two implementations of her resurrection active in the game, and both are implemented as a Status: "GLO_NIGHTSONGRESURRECTION" and "GLO_NIGHTSONG_RESURRECTION". Now, I don't know what was going on there and I'm certainly not a Larian dev, but that underscore situation there is... weird. I also don't know enough about BG3-specific scripting yet to come up with an explanation on why there would be two variants of it at all - if anyone does, please let me know! I'm very curious. However, these two implementations of her resurrection ability work very differently, and you can see the effects of both of them in-game.
The first one, GLO_NIGHTSONGRESURRECTION, is named "Moonmaiden's Reconstitution" and is tied to the "Child of the Moonmaiden" Passive (itself called SHA_NightsongResurrection, side note: GLO is the "global" prefix and SHA is a prefix that signifies the Gauntlet of Shar area in Act 2). This ability makes Aylin auto-stabilise when downed instead of rolling death saves, go into the kneeling stabilised animation where she can be helped up or healed just like your party members - you know the one, with the little asterisk hovering above them. Then on the start of her next turn she heals for exactly 1HP (unless she's under a healing-disabling effect, such as Bone Chill, which is why people have trouble with her in the Myrkul fight) and she has only her Bonus Action, the same as any other previously downed character.
Mechanically, it applies the "GLO_NIGHTSONGRESURRECTION_DOWNED" Status to her which modifies what happens when she is Downed to implement the above non-standard behaviour, and also does stuff like turn off her Moonbeam if she had it active.
The "Moonmaiden's Reconstitution" Status itself is completely invisible in-game: it has properties such as "DisableOverhead;DisableCombatlog;DisablePortraitIndicator" aka doesn't show up as that little text popup above the character, doesn't show up in the combat log, and doesn't have a visible indicator icon anywhere.
The description for "Child of the Moonmaiden" is:
"Blessed with the favour of a goddess, Nightsong cannot be permanently killed. When unconscious, [at] the start of her turn she recovers 1 hit point."
The second one, GLO_NIGHTSONG_RESURRECTION with the extra underscore, is a Status called "Nightsong Soars Eternal", and that one doesn't have any other Statuses or Passives tied to it, it simply resurrects her immediately when she dies, and at full health. When it triggers, you can actually see her portrait drop out of the initiative tracker at the top of the screen as if she completely died, and then she gets put in again. This one is active even when the first one isn't, so you can see it in places like camp after she comes back from Lorroakan, and after she comes back for the finale all the way until the end of the game - and by "see it" I mean since it doesn't have any Passive ability connected to it, you have to actually get Aylin killed to see it trigger (I'm so sorry Aylin, it was important for the post, I swear).
The description for "Nightsong Soars Eternal" is:
"Nightsong will be resurrected by the powers of Selûne whenever she dies."
In Lorroakan's tower, BOTH of these are disabled, and if downed, Aylin will just lie there as if she died for real with the little red skull and the "Dead" status until she gets rezzed for a cutscene after the fight or, if betrayed, you go to long rest and then come back to see Lorroakan's progress, at which point she will be up and in the cage with a total of 1HP and that "Soul Caged" status instead.
Note again that she visibly has "Child of the Moonmaiden" disabled as soon as she enters the wizard tower area, betrayed or not, before she does anything to anyone. It's a way of making sure the Lorroakan fight is actually winnable/loseable/concludable without her getting stuck in that revive with 1HP at the start of her turn loop. "Nightsong Soars Eternal" also obviously doesn't trigger. Instead she says her "I will rise again!" line and stays down. She has every other ability and buff active normally, even ones that explicitly mention coming from Selûne, like her iconic following Moonbeam, for example, or her fancy unique Smite.
Again, significantly: she does not have her immortality buffs if you fight against her, either, betraying her and causing Selûne's wrath and desire to protect her daughter to manifest physically in the room, including empowering Aylin herself with buffs that are called things like "Moonmother's Embrace". See what I'm getting at?
Interestingly, she also doesn't have it when you first meet her:
What does this all mean? Well, I'd say that if we took every gameplay/implementation thing about this game as in-universe gospel, Aylin herself would look a lot different and be far more scaly, for one.
(Makes me chuckle every time.)
In all seriousness, though, if something as big as this happened to a side but still fairly prominent character, the game would tell us about it. Or at least make a bigger deal of it than the deactivation of a passive ability visible on the Examine screen that many people sadly don't really tend to look at and read.
And here's the best thing: nobody has to take my word for any of this, you can see for yourself, without actually knowing how to unpack game files or having my frankly ridiculous amount of hard saves! I think this is super helpful in general, especially for people playing on console:
Here's a link to a truly amazing and consistently updated resource - every bit of dialogue in the game, nicely parsed and laid out and super readable (as well as some additional tools to play around with).
Here's a website where you can search inside BG3 scripts and other files and take a look at a lot of the nitty-gritty implementation stuff in a convenient way.
I recognise that I go way too deep into things and overstuff my brain with minutiae, but that's just how I work. I take forever to post anything anywhere on the internet because I just physically cannot click a post button without triple-checking everything and quoting and screenshotting things, even if it's the same thing for the twentieth time, and that's certainly a me problem. I very much don't expect people to do things my way, but I also find the games of telephone these things so rapidly become really frustrating, you know?
But my biggest problem with this particular Aylin thing - beyond the annoying preponderance of it, as I've already whined - is that in-universe it just makes no sense and I, an aasimar paladin enjoyer, personally dislike it.
Oath of Vengeance paladins abide by the following tenets: Fight the Greater Evil. Exerting your wisdom, identify the higher morality in any given instance, and fight for it. No Mercy for the Wicked. Chasten those who dole out their villainy by wiping their blight from the world forever.
Putting the rest of this post under a cut because it's long and ranty and you didn't actually ask for it.
My first problem: the common argument that Aylin is in the wrong for killing Lorroakan like she did because he has "done nothing to her yet", and that she breaks her Oath of Vengeance because she attacked him preemptively.
The man put a price on her head and sent violent mercs to beat her up and kidnap her. He tries to (temporarily) kill her and imprison her as soon as she refuses to cooperate by… demurely waltzing into the prison and putting the chains on herself? He knows exactly who she is, what has been done to her, and he wants to do it again - no, doesn't want to, he is actively doing it again. The fact that (if you side with Aylin) he fails mid-attempt doesn't make him innocent of it. He refuses to stop and, if denied, gets violent and murderous.
Player: Have it your way. I'll bring her here. Lorroakan: Good. I was growing scared for you. The last person who disappointed me is suffering for it still. Do not return without my prize. Do you hear me? Good day.
Player: I'll think about it. Lorroakan: You aren't the only one who knows what's on offer for the Nightsong's retrieval. Consider carefully whether you'd like to see your fortune in someone else's hands. Someone who might slip into your camp at any moment, or harry you through street and inn until you're run ragged and surrender. The choice is yours: fortune or imminent death. I know you'll choose wisely.
Mark my words: the Nightsong is mine. With or without your help, she will ascend to her grand fate here, in this tower.
Player: You heard me. The answer is no. Lorroakan: Pity. Then again, perhaps word of your agonising death will draw your little friend to me. Myrmidons - imperatum!
He is fully equipped for it and has set up a whole magical trap and is just waiting for her to show up to trigger it, or for someone to drag her there against her will. He says she will go into the cage "kicking and screaming" and really, this is who she is wrong for "picking a fight with" and "attacking preemptively"? Surely nobody actually thinks that Aylin is at fault here or that she actually overreacted by killing him? I don't really want to go into some people's really, really shitty attitudes towards Aylin for sadly entirely predictable reasons but… man. She went over there and threatened him with violence, demanding an explanation after he sent cronies to attack her in her sleep? Wow, what a weird thing to do. Also, he literally is the one to attack first! She is there threatening and goading him, doing her little "face me charlatan" bit, but he is the one who sics the myrmidons on her (or the player) and actually starts the fight, every time. To be clear, I don't think this is very relevant at all, but people do seem to love bringing it up.
Is Aylin brash and reckless and clearly struggling after her captivity, dealing with rapidly flaring up anger and outbursts of violence - only ever, may I emphasise, towards actually horrid people, and she is really rather shockingly forgiving and tolerant of the player character messing with her? Yes! Does she seem to have that classical aspect of "she might go too far one day" or "she might lose herself in the anger and vengeance if she focuses on it exclusively"? Absolutely! Do I think she could have been, say, a Devotion paladin before her imprisonment and it might have been the betrayal and century in the Shadowfell that made her change to Vengeance instead? I love that idea! I also think it's likely she has just always been a very zealous, very smitey and offence-oriented Vengeance paladin, called Selûne's sword for a very good reason, fulfilling a very important role in the ongoing struggle against Shar.
And the whole problem is… Lorroakan will, as we've seen, not stop trying, and people like him will always be around and never stop coming after her especially now that the cat's apparently out of the bag after Balthazar, and Aylin needs to live with this, forever. That is why she is so messed up about this one rando wizard she's never met before. That is why this specific incident is so triggering for her. She has just escaped torment on a timescale that's not something the normal human mind can really grasp. "In this moment, I want for nothing." ended up lasting, indeed, barely a moment! Her mum is a powerful god and right now it seems that what Aylin actually gets from it is having a target painted on her back and, to quote Isobel, she can be hurt just like anyone else, she just gets to suffer longer! She keeps being dealt these shit hands and, yeah, it'd make anyone go… why? Seems unfair, right? What exactly is the point of this?
The various dialogue options you have while warning her about Lorroakan's intentions and which include trying to convince her to just leave him be include her being so, so frustrated, and so understandably, it makes me feel horrible for her.
She always ultimately goes to confront him, because she has no other real choice. He will keep coming after her, he will keep sending people after her, and she will never, ever get a bit of rest, and she's, what, supposed to go live in hiding somewhere if you convince him she's dead? Until the jig is inevitably up or this guy dies by someone else's hand? And there's also the element Aylin herself will point out if you keep her in the dark about the plot and Aradin and his cronies come to attack your camp: how long until someone hurts Isobel during one of these attempts or actively goes after her as a bargaining chip?
I guess I just genuinely do not understand the arguments about this guy who has been deliberately constructed to be a horrible, hateful piece of shit with exactly zero redeeming qualities, to an almost comical extent. He beats his apprentice and uses his assistant for target practice! He's a sick, sick asshole! His life's dream rests on kidnapping and enslavement! The guy is conspiring and trying to ally with Ketheric and Balthazar of all people:
Lorroakan,
I have responded out of respect to my counsellor, Balthazar, who advises me that you may prove a loyal ally in the coming fight. I understand you wish to know about the soul cage which binds the Nightsong to me. Details, I cannot and will not provide. But the magic itself is necromantic in nature, designed by my aforementioned counsellor. I hope your curiosity is satisfied.
General Ketheric Thorm
This is who people think a vengeance pally will break her oath over? Over what, a technicality of who struck first? "Desecrating a corpse"? No, it was Ketheric she did that to, and nothing happened. She just finished this guy off in a violent and dramatic fashion.
While you can play a paladin yourself and kill so many people in so many ways without anything happening, this is more of a consideration if you play Oath of Devotion or Ancients. It's also one that makes parts of the game harder - comically evil cultists torturing and executing prisoners cannot simply be attacked out of nowhere, and instead you need to announce your challenge first. You need to walk up to them and start talking, establish their villainy, and then fight "fairly". This is also partially an issue arising from the implementation of hostility flags and game logic, by the way. However, Oath of Vengeance gives precious few fucks about this and is a really hard oath to break. In fact, in a very similar situation to the wizard tower, in the House of Grief, you break the Oath of Vengeance if you spare Viconia - at that point lying on the floor soundly defeated and bleeding out much the same way Lorroakan was. Viconia who, may I note, never "did anything to you" but did harm a friend of yours.
Also, and this is a whole separate discussion, but... it's a FR DnD game. You kill bad guys in it. You kill vaguely morally grey, or even good guys in it. You and your friends kill so many people before this point. Multi-act quest arcs conclude with "go to place and kill someone". You mete out "justice" personally, repeatedly, and can harp on that fact, especially if you're playing a paladin. You don't exactly call the guards on people instead, even in the middle of the city. Ludo-narrative dissonance or no, why would this one wizard suddenly be different, and why would this one woman be singled out for a thus far completely typical approach and set of actions?
My second problem: a great big "Selûne wouldn't do that". I understand Forgotten Realms "lore" is a giant unwieldy self-contradicting mess of a beast and I'm not saying people should be scholars of it to participate in the discussion, far from it, but I would like them to engage with what is presented in the game itself at least.
For the most succinct possible example, look at what Selûne does when Aylin is betrayed. She buffs her in order to enable her to violently and zealously win that fight. Literally empowers Aylin to smack her enemies around more and with greater strength and also burn them alive in holy fire. Not after she's imprisoned and well and truly "wronged", but during this fabulously absolving "mere attempt" on Lorroakan's part.
Also, may I point out the sweet little shielding- and healing-focused cleric of the same goddess is actively disappointed that you and Aylin won't let her come with to hit the guy a few times herself! This goes for the entire party of assorted weirdos, goody-good or otherwise, who firmly believe Aylin should just obliterate that guy. Like, c'mon, my man Wyll! (Super sad and touching exception: Karlach, if you've killed Gortash already. When she begs you not to tell Aylin about any of it at all and go deal with the wizard yourselves, just so Aylin can have a bit more peace and keep her sword sheathed for just a little while longer. Ow, my heart.)
In summary, basically, my twofold beef:
"Selûne punishing and abandoning her daughter for over-zealously defending herself" - nonsensical and uninteresting. Stops people from actually delving into and discussing the complexities of that relationship.
"OoV paladin broke her oath by killing an evil wizard who is actively trying to do horrible things to her and attacks her" - nonsensical and uninteresting. Let's instead actually engage with the material and discuss Aylin's trauma and how she might deal or not deal with it in good or bad ways. What would recovery even look like, for her. How does the way she intrinsically ties her entire being into being a smite-happy moon-magic knight play into it. Let's actually consider the weight and role of duty in her life and the wombo-combo of being an aasimar paladin, an existence with a very "purpose-made" aspect to it. You know, the good ol' Being A Sword thing, including being born into it. Combined with being rather suddenly rather intensely humanised by a loving relationship with a mortal woman, with all sorts of ticking clocks, unique challenges, and both past and pending tragedy there.
Or let's talk about the dissonance present in Aylin's cool and badass scenes of smiting deserving evil. Scenes that go into very violent and very over the top territory, that make you both cheer and cringe, that make a point of showing the other characters reacting in shock. Because I genuinely feel so bad for her and deeply worried for her, all while my silly little brain goes fuck yeah smite him shiny lady! Ooooh look, a flashy Aylin scene, ripping a deserving villain to pieces! But at what cost to herself? Feels so good to have someone deliver some justice! But if I think about it for 5 seconds I don't actually want her to - no, no, I do. I don't want her to have to, is the thing. (It's kind of like that one Gundam meme.)
I will conclude this mess by doing a salty little yeah. It's fine, this is fine, this is sadly pretty much part of the standard experience of liking a female character in fandom. God forbid women do anything indeed. Outside of a few select, narrow and highly dedicated circles, half the (scarce) posts about her are something that's either flat-out wrong, or just assumes the absolute worst of her and reduces her to two and a half shitty stereotypes, and half the fics tagged with her are actually about fandom's favourite two dudes and barely feature her at all.
And on that note, I'm off to actually be a positive force and poke at my own fic some more.
#dame aylin#baldur's gate 3#bg3#long post#and i mean it this is one long-ass post wow#also touches on stuff like#lorroakan#selune#paladins#oaths in general (my beloved)#will also put it under#datamine

Something always confused me about the messages Cayde left to his 'killers'. Like, while he could be annoying at times, I just don't see, say, Ikora or the Guardian killing him. Could you clear it up for me?
not sure what prompted this ask, but i would LOVE to talk about Cayde let's go
to me, the thing about Cayde that a shockingly small amount of people seem to understand is that this guy is deeply self-loathing. the best way i've ever seen it summed up is "he was a terrified man who was mostly terrified of himself." (you can read that post here btw.)
Cayde blames and guilts himself for so much. Andal becoming the Vanguard, Andal dying, Taniks not staying dead, making up Ace and his Queen, not remembering Ace and his Queen, probably the Red Legion attack on the Last City (i think it might have been written somewhere that satellites/security was his job, but don't quote me on that) - he's constantly running away from his problems and responsibilities, and when he isn't, he's doing everything he can to try and fix them himself (e.g., one-man suicide mission plan to kill Ghaul.)
moreover, his entire jokester persona is so deeply ingrained into his identity that he genuinely doesn't know if anyone even knows him. in his message to Ikora he says he wasn't even sure if she ever liked him, and Ikora confides to the Guardian that she considered him one of her closest friends.
as such, i think it's completely reasonable within his character for him to assume, somehow, that there could be a reason for Ikora or the Guardian to kill him. he doesn't consider himself integral to the Vanguard "team," and, by extension, to the City. he would like them to like him, of course, but even if they like the lax, aloof, jokester persona he puts on - he doesn't know if they like him. he doesn't even seem confident that anyone would like the real him.
so, if they had to kill him for whatever reason - "the good of the City," because he messed something up, because he did something terrible, some kind of Darkness-corruption (him or them), maybe even if he was just that insufferable and they'd finally had enough - he thinks of himself so lowly that he wouldn't really be able to blame them. (in most of his audios he even sort of has a reason planned - he pissed off Eris badly enough, Zavala had to kill him for the good of the City, the Guardian saved him on Nessus so he "owed it to them anyway" - i think that he carries so much guilt and exhaustion, especially with regards to everything that happened to Andal, that, on some level, he feels like he deserves it.)
so, in regards to your question, sure, WE can't imagine Ikora or the Guardian killing him, but we are the audience, and Cayde doesn't have any idea as to how anyone else might feel about him when the chips are down.
(in fact, life on the line, if someone had to die, i doubt Cayde would even let it be anyone in the City but him. i have a whole post planned about Forsaken + themes of sacrifice, but his whole "Not if I get there first," followed by personally sailing down into a deadly explosion (even with a Ghost) is very indicative of this and a much broader sort of self-sacrificial-ness, but that's... a much longer post.)
#i wrote this in like 20 minutes and im REALLY fucjing tired so i hope it makes sense but#i think he just. finds it so easy to blame himself. it started with ace and only got so much worse with andal#destiny 2#cayde 6#cayde-6#long post#analysis#mine

Before I tell you about my request, I have to acknowledge that you are so FREAKING amazing at writing!!
Don't know if you've already done these before, but Jameson's POV of when he first met Avery, during the will reading, when he first snuck into Avery's room, and when Avery was leaving Will Blake's ranch in tfg. It's probably a lot, but I've been wanting to read about these for a while and I also know a good writer who is capable of doing that. Also, just know that I'm probably going to request you many more things to write about.
first of all I'm HONOURED. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TRUSTING ME. second of all, i really hope this satisfy you and is enough 😭😭I'm no jlb, this is completely of what I think jameson would have thought from my understanding. if you think otherwise please do let me know. again, it's completely from my understanding of jamie's character. also sorry it took so long.
NOTE: all four parts are here. pretty long. some copy pasted dialogues!!!!!! hope you enjoy.
Jameson meeting Avery for the first time.
It was not easy for the Hawthornes, everyone grieved in their own way. But for some reason the grievance was put aside today by everyone, Jameson would like to say he has put it aside as well but the bottle in his hand and the obvious intoxication would say otherwise. It is not a good idea to get drunk during an important time like the reading of the will of the great Tobias Hawthorne, and it's definitely not a good idea to leave your family hanging while one sits at the edge of the balcony, only supported by the railing. But that's exactly what Jameson Hawthorne did.
His mind was all over the place looking for something, something that would give him the thrill more than sitting at the edge of the balcony, drunk. He might have been wrong, but there was a two out of ten chance that he may be right. He refused to look away from the brown haired girl who was standing in the backyard, completely mesmerised by the Hawthorne backyard. As she took in the view he took in her features and movements. He finally decided to interact in the only way he knew to find out what she is.
“If yes is no and once is never , then how many sides does a triangle have?” His words slurred but it got her attention. She looked up to him, bending her neck backwards.
“You’re going to fall.” She told him.
He smirked. “An interesting proposition.”
“That wasn’t a proposition,” She said.
He offered her a lazy grin. “There’s no shame in propositioning a Hawthorne.” Jameson’s smirk grew a bit wider when she noticed that he was shirtless.
“You must be Mystery Girl,” he said.
“I’m Avery,” She corrected.
She looked at him like anyone who knew what recently happened in the Hawthorne family would look at him, wondering why his face was anything but filled with grief. He wouldn't blame her for being a little judgemental. He is very good at grieving in his own way and an expert at hiding it.
“Whatever you say, M.G.,” he retorted. “Can I call you M.G., Mystery Girl?” He was trying to taunt her at this point.
She crossed her arms. “No.”
He brought his feet up to the railing and stood. He wobbled, he could see her thinking about something with worry and panic when he put one foot in front.
“Don't!” But he didn't listen to her. He twisted and grabbed the railing with his hands, holding himself vertical, feet in the air and dropped. He landed right next to her.
“You shouldn’t be out here, M.G.” He told her.
“Neither should you.” He can tell that her heart is beating fast. It was so obvious. Janeson’s heart was racing too, he told himself that it was because of the stunt he just pulled.
“If I do what I should no more often than I say what I shouldn’t”—his lips twisted—“then what does that make me?”
She sighed like she just realised who he is. She was taking in his features to make sure, especially his eyes, and his abs.
“What,” he repeated intently, “does that make me?”
“Drunk,” She said. Jameson was about to say something else, he was ready with a comeback but she added two more words. “And two.”
“What?” Jameson Hawthorne said.
“The answer to your first riddle,” She told him. “If yes is no and once is never , then the number of sides a triangle has… is… two .” She didn't explain her answer, she didn't have to.
“Touché, M.G.” Jameson ambled past her, brushing his bare arm lightly over mine as he did. “Touché.” He was impressed and intrigued.
Two out of ten, this time the odds were in his favour. And now that Jameson Hawthorne got the answer he wanted from this Mystery Girl, he has no plan to leave her alone. That moment he knew she was special. And his grandfather brought her here for a reason. He will find out why.
The Will Read
Jameson made his way to his wing and managed to find himself a shirt and suit jacket. He checked himself in the mirror once before heading to The Great Room. Once he was inside his eyes looked for a specific pair of brown eyes but he realised Avery hadn't arrived yet. He went further inside and stood with the rest of his family. Soon he watched Avery make her way inside and made eye contact with him. He immediately gave her a cheeky smile and a salute, he can also noticed Grayson stiffened at his action through the corner of his eyes.
Once the lawyers made sure everyone who is mentioned in the will was in the room they started. First, they handed an envelope to everyone in the family and to Avery as well. They were asked to open the letters after the will reading. Jameson is already curious about his letter and what the old man has to say to him and to Avery Grambs. His eyes were fixated on her envelope for a whole minute before focusing on the reading prudently.
“Mr. Hawthorne stipulated that all of the following individuals must be physically present for the reading of this will: Skye Hawthorne, Zara Hawthorne-Calligaris, Nash Hawthorne, Grayson Hawthorne, Jameson Hawthorne, Alexander Hawthorne, and Ms. Avery Kylie Grambs of New Castle, Connecticut.”
Everyone's eyes including a pair of green ones were on her. Avery Kylie Grambs.
“...To my daughters, Zara Hawthorne-Calligaris and Skye Hawthorne, I leave the funds necessary to pay off all debts accrued as of the date and time of my death.” Mr. Ortega paused before speaking, he looked directly at Zara and Skye then back to the will.
“Additionally, I leave to Skye my compass, may she always know true north, and to Zara, I leave my wedding ring, may she love as wholly and steadfastly as I loved her mother.” Another pause, more painful than the last.
“Go on.” That came from Zara’s husband.
“To each of my daughters,” Mr. Ortega read slowly, “beyond that already stated, I leave a one-time inheritance of fifty thousand dollars.”
Jameson wanted to smile but he knew better, just like how he knew that his mother and aunt won't be the one holding the old man's entire fortune. It's not a surprise, none of them should be surprised that the person who would be taking the fortune would be the heir apparent, his brother, Grayson Devenport Hawthorne.
There was a mini quarrel between Zara and Skye on how Jameson and his brothers became the old man's favourite, how Skye gave them to him so that her sons would have the inheritance.
“Now, if I may continue…” Mr. Ortega looked back down at the will in his hands. “To my grandsons, Nash Westbrook Hawthorne, Grayson Davenport Hawthorne, Jameson Winchester Hawthorne, and Alexander Blackwood Hawthorne, I leave…”
“Everything,” Zara muttered bitterly.
Mr. Ortega spoke over her. “Two hundred and fifty thousand dollars apiece, payable on their twenty-fifth birthdays, until such time to be managed by Alisa Ortega, trustee.”
Everyone heard Alisa’s audible shock. Unlike his brother Grayson who was utterly shocked and threw knives for the word ‘what’ Jameson Hawthorne thought that this is getting interesting.
The old man didn't leave everything to Grayson like everyone thought the old man would because of the way he was groomed. Or to Nash, or to Xander, or to me. There is only one person left in the will. There could be two things happening right here, and if his guess is right…
“The remainder of my estate,” Mr. Ortega read, “including all properties, monetary assets, and worldly possessions not otherwise specified, I leave to Avery Kylie Grambs.”
And it was indeed right, if you're smart you would have seen this coming right after they read that Tobias Hawthorne didn't leave his fortune to his daughters or his grandsons. The only blood related heirs. But now? A new heiress. Not blood related as far as he knows. She is not a random girl. He knew his grandfather too well to know that he wouldn't randomly write his entire fortune to a stranger. This is something. He doesn't know what she is yet. But he will find out.
Everyone's demeanour changed, especially Skye and Gray's. Not surprised. Even Avery’s, she is in utter shock, he can only say that much.
“...I assure you, there is no mistake.” Mr. Ortega met my gaze, then turned his attention to the others. “And I assure the rest of you, Tobias Hawthorne’s last will and testament is utterly unbreakable. Since the majority of the remaining details concern only Avery, we’ll cease with the dramatics. But let me make one thing very clear: Per the terms of the will, any heir who challenges Avery’s inheritance will forfeit their share of the estate entirely.”
“No will is that ironclad,” Constantine said, his voice acidic.
“Not when there’s this kind of money at stake.” “Spoken,” Nash Hawthorne interjected, “like someone who didn’t really know the old man.”
“Traps upon traps,” Jameson murmured. Trying to look into the old man's mind about this context. Trying to look into her mind. “And riddles upon riddles.” He looked right into Avery's eyes looking for something.
“I think you should leave,” Grayson told me curtly. An order. Typical Grayson.
“Technically…” Alisa Ortega sounded like she’d just swallowed arsenic. “It’s her house.”
“I don’t understand,” She said.
“My daughter is correct.” Mr. Ortega kept his tone neutral. “You own it all, Ms. Grambs. Not just the fortune, but all of Mr. Hawthorne’s properties, including Hawthorne House. Per the terms of your inheritance, which I will gladly go over with you, the current occupants have been granted tenancy unless—and until—they give you cause for removal.” He let those words hang in the air. “Under no circumstances,” he continued gravely, his words rife with warning, “can those tenants attempt to remove you.”
Oren stood between us and her.
“Oren!” Zara sounded shocked. “You work for this family.”
“I worked for Mr. Hawthorne.” John Oren paused and held up a piece of paper. It took me a moment to realise that it was his letter.
“It was his last request that I continue in the employment of Ms. Avery Kylie Grambs.” He glanced at her “Security. You’ll need it.”
“And not just to protect you from us!” Xander added to her left.
“Take a step back, please,” Oren ordered.
Xander held his hands up. “Peace,” he declared. “I make dire predictions in peace!”
“Xan’s right.” Jameson smiled, he knew it and he knew that he is not wrong about this. A random girl picked out from a random place far from home to be The Hawthorne Heiress, this isn't something regular, this a game. One of the old man's games. “The entire world’s going to want a piece of you, Mystery Girl. This has story of the century written all over it.” He reminded her about the media and how the world is going to talk about her.
Avery didn't say anything, she walked outside. He wanted to follow her but instead he opened the envelope that was held by him.
Jameson going to Avery’s room through the secret passageway
Avery didn't stay at Hawthorne House that night, he assumed her bodyguard and lawyer took her to one of the hotel's that was owned by Tobias Hawthorne and now hers. He saw her later the next day solving the keys, yet another game that proved that she is special, she solved it faster than any Hawthorne to start with. That night Jameson read his letter again and again, it took him one read to realise it was a clue, he can't help but read it again to see what it says, where it leads. But he also knew this would be nothing without the major clue, a walking brown eyed clue.
If he was a normal person he would have knocked on her door. Jameson Hawthorne is anything but normal. He walked into her wing and moved a picture frame to solve a simple puzzle to release a handle that popped two inches away from the drawer nearby the picture frame, he pulled it and twisted it four times to make the drawer and the wall it was attached to open.
Secret passageway. It was everywhere in Hawthorne House.
He made his way inside and made his way to his grandfather’s room, now owned by Avery. Once he was close to the fireplace he heard nothing, almost thought she wasn't there. But he gave it a shot anyway.
“Pull the candlestick.”
He wasn't sure if she heard because it was dead silent. So he spoke again “Pull the candlestick on the fireplace, Heiress. Unless you want me stuck back here?” His tone was frisky.
“Pretty sure this qualifies as stalking.” His lips curved into a smile once she said that.
He can tell that she was just pulling it. “Don’t just pull forward. Angle it down.”
She did as he asked. Once he heard the click and saw the gap below, Jameson lifted the fireplace up to the mantle to go through the opening. Once he was in the room he positioned the candlestick back to it's original form.
“Secret passage,” he explained to know if it intrigues her. “The house is full of them.”
“Am I supposed to find that comforting?” She asked him. “Or terrifying?”
“You tell me, Mystery Girl. Are you comforted or terrified?” He let me sit with that for a moment. “Or is it possible that you’re intrigued?
She didn't say anything but he knew the answer. She didn't ask him what he expected her to ask.
“You’re not asking about the keys.” Jameson offered her a crooked little smile. “I expected you to ask about the keys.”
She held the keys up. “This was your doing.” Not a question, he noted.
“It’s a little bit of a family tradition.” He said with a motive. He has done nothing but think about the will reading and raise questions to himself, whys and hows.
“I’m not family.” She tried to make a statement but wasn't sure herself.
He tilted his head to one side. “Do you believe that?”
“I don’t know.” She thought before she spoke. Does she know something? That was Janesons first thought.
“It would be a shame,” Jameson commented, “if we were related.” He spared another smile for me, slow and sharp-edged. “Don’t you think?” Jameson is good at a lot of things, flirting is definitely one of them.
“I think that you already have more family than you can deal with.” She crossed my arms. “I also think you’re a lot less smooth than you think are. You want something.”
Points to Heiress. She's quick.
“Everyone is going to want something from you soon, Heiress.” Jameson smiled. “The question is: How many of us want something you’re willing to give?” He spoke in a way that would make her want to give into him. But her resistance was stronger than he thought.
“Stop calling me Heiress,” She shot back. “And if you turn answering my question into some kind of riddle, I’m calling security.”
“That’s the thing, Mystery Girl. I don’t think I’m turning anything into a riddle. I don’t think I have to. You are a riddle, a puzzle, a game—my grandfather’s last.” He spoke and looked at her very intently. He didn't care how it sounded to her, he was sure of what he believed to be true.
“Why do you think this house has so many secret passages? Why are there so many keys that don’t work in any of the locks? Every desk my grandfather ever bought has secret compartments. There’s an organ in the theater, and if you play a specific sequence of notes, it unlocks a hidden drawer. Every Saturday morning, from the time I was a kid until the night my grandfather died, he sat my brothers and me down and gave us a riddle, a puzzle, an impossible challenge—something to solve. And then he died. And then…” Jameson took a step toward her. “There was you.” He tried explaining to her how Hawthorne House is, how his grandmother was. Why his grandfather chose her wasn't random.
“Grayson thinks you’re some master manipulator. My aunt is convinced you must have Hawthorne blood. But I think you’re the old man’s final riddle—one last puzzle to be solved.” He took another step, bringing the two of them much closer. “He chose you for a reason, Avery. You’re special, and I think he wanted us—wanted me —to figure out why.”
This point he was convinced that she was a puzzle to be solved or a clue that would lead him to something. Something his grandfather wanted him to find, to know. Because the old man knew damn well that Jameson Hawthorne could never resist a game.
“I’m not a puzzle.” Her heart was beating faster because of their closeness or because of what he's saying.
“Sure you are,” Jameson said. “We all are. Don’t tell me that some part of you hasn’t been trying to figure us out. Grayson. Me. Maybe even Xander.”
“Is this all just a game to you?” She put her hand out to stop him from advancing farther. He took one last step, forcing her palm to his chest. That touch shouldn't have excited him, even if it did, he didn't concentrate on it.
“Everything’s a game, Avery Grambs. The only thing we get to decide in this life is if we play to win.” He reached up to brush the hair from her face, and she jerked back.
“Get out,” She said lowly. “Use the normal door this time.”
“You’re angry,” Jameson said. Making her angry isn't helpful, if she's angry with him she may not help. Or see that this is a game, and she is a piece of it.
“I told you—if you want something, ask. Don’t come in here talking about how I’m special. Don’t touch my face.”
“You are special.” Jameson kept his hands to himself, but the heady expression in his eyes never shifted.
“And what I want is to figure out why. Why you, Avery?” He took a step back, giving her space. “Don’t tell me you don’t want to know, too.”
She does, she wants to know. She must.
“I’m going to leave this here.” Jameson held up an envelope. He laid it carefully on the mantel. “Read it, and then tell me this isn’t a game to be won. Tell me this isn’t a riddle.” Jameson reached for the candelabra, and as the fireplace passage opened once more, he offered a targeted, parting shot. “He left you the fortune, Avery, and all he left us is you.”
Avery coming out of Vincent Blake’s mansion (tfg)
Jameson wouldn't forgive himself if something happened inside, if someone happened to either of them. Avery and Grayson. Especially Avery because he let her go inside, knowing the kind of man Vincent Blake is. His heart could pop out any second, it was beating that fast. He tried to keep it cool with all the paparazzi outside. He kept looking at the gate, waiting for her. For her to come out alive and bring his brother, maybe Toby even. Whatever is happening inside, he prays that she is winning. Somehow she must.
His heart skipped a beat once he saw Avery come out with Grayson and Toby. He wanted to run and hug her, he didn't care that they'd cause a scene. but he stopped himself because he saw Toby talking to her, he slowly made his way to them and the car. To let her know he was there. He also let her have her moment with Toby.
He didn't know what happened inside, but from the look of it he can tell that Avery won. Whatever game they played, however she played, she won. And she was safe along with Grayson. That's all that mattered to him at that moment.
When she made her way to him, he didn't ask her what happened. “The knight returns with the damsel in distress,” Jameson declared. He glanced toward Grayson. “You’re the damsel.”
“I figured,” Grayson deadpanned.
“What are you doing here?” She asked Jameson. He can see the victory in her eyes, she was more open with him now that the first time they met. It was getting easier to tell what she was thinking.
“I thought you could use a ride home,” Jameson told her. She looked past him, expecting to see a helicopter.
“Pretty sure you aren’t allowed to land a helicopter there,” Grayson told his brother.
“You know what they say about permission and forgiveness,” Jameson replied, then he focused back on her with a familiar look—equal parts I dare you and I’ll never let you go. “Want to learn to fly?”
Avery smiled and took his hand. He still didn't ask her what happened, he just enjoyed her victory in the air. Just Avery and Jameson.

I am not naming any of her victims out of respect for their privacy and safety, but if they wish to come forward in the comments, they are free to do so. I've been informed that @angelbabyspice has gone through her feed to delete the posts she has made for the sole purpose of mocking and bullying people, which doesn't surprise me. I do not condone doxxing bullies or threatening to contact their employers (except in extreme circumstances where local law enforcement should also be involved, e.g. terroristic threats, stochastic terrorism, intentionally driving a person to become suicidal). I hope @angelbabyspice sees this message, because I want to tell her a few things: 1. "I don't want to see it" Nobody is forcing you to see it. You are free to scroll right past it, just as we are free to blaze a post if we so wish. We all see things we don't want to see, but we are smart enough to know that we have the ability to look away and move on with our lives. You are making the choice to not only look at art you don't like, but to obsess over it to the point that you spend hours of your time harassing those who create and share it. You are choosing to do this to yourself when you could have just kept scrolling and forgotten about it. This is on you. Don't blame other people for YOUR issues. 2. You had said in another post that people should at least lust after someone "fuckable" like Gojo. I looked him up, and he is as generic-looking an anime character as they come, in my personal opinion. But that's all it is: my opinion. I would never mock you or anyone else for being a fan. If I don't have something nice to say, I don't say anything at all, because I know how it feels to be mocked and ridiculed for my love of a fictional character, and unlike you, I DO NOT want to make other people feel the same way. 3. So, you're really tired of getting messages from people who claim you're "trolling", eh? You ARE trolling, in fact you're straight up bullying with the sole intent of trying to make people ashamed of their own completely harmless hobbies and interests for no reason at all. You. Are. Trying. To. Hurt. People. Where on earth did you get the idea that what you're doing is even remotely okay? Where did you get the idea that your victims are demented and YOU'RE the rational one? 4. WE'RE really tired of YOU making dozens of posts about us in order to mock us behind our backs. It doesn't need to be a direct message. What you are doing is cowardly and cruel. There is NOTHING to be gained by treating people the way that you do. You are literally complaining about the fact that we are standing up for ourselves against your smear campaigns, which we are all well within our rights to do. You have a lot of nerve trying to make yourself out to be the victim in all of this. YOU made the choice to be a bully; you can make the choice to stop, own up to what you've done, apologize, and move on in a healthier direction in life. Wouldn't you rather have friends and allies than enemies? 5. I have no idea who doxxed you, but I know it's not the person you suspect, because we are both very much AGAINST doxxing. I am sorry that happened to you, but honestly, what did you expect? You have done nothing on Tumblr but go out of your way to treat other people like garbage. You have proudly made it your mission to hurt and humiliate them, and you know this. Where on earth did you get the idea that this wouldn't backfire on you? 6. Actions have consequences. Respect must be earned. You are bullying innocent people whose hobbies have NO effect on you whatsoever. There are so many horrible things happening in the world today: war, famine, hate crimes, animal abuse, child abuse, etc. etc., but total strangers sharing their love for fictional characters is the hill you are choosing to die on? Really? Churchill once said that a person is only as big as the things that make him mad. Think about what this says of you.

I'm just ranting about DBS' anime under the cut again don't mind me I'm having a Time
I was so confused about why Goku Black/Zamas is such a popular skin in Fortnite and then I learned that Toei once again missed the whole point of that arc. Both of them. One is Vegeta being inescapably confronted with how loved he is and how much he loves his family, which we knew Toei was never going to allow, but my god, Zamas??
The point of Zamas is that he's a wildly privileged chronically online 4chan fascist deciding an entire way of life which he does not participate in, has a surface-level understanding of, and is not personally affected by, is morally disgusting. Like, that's it that's his whole character. He's a young god with every possible comfort deciding that anything that is not like him is immoral and should not exist.
It has nothing to do with Trunks or anyone, it's solely because he's a shitty little Light Yagami kinnie in his extremely sheltered bubble of (perceived, not lived) experience. Dude is intolerable in the manga, and that's the point. His justice is not justice. His reasoning is outright fascism.
But they also missed the point of Trunks being Alone in the future (save for Mai) and Bulma not being there at all (her murder and subsequent absence in the future timeline is a vital component of the arc's emotional weight for Vegeta and Trunks, in fact, which of course they made about Goku instead :))) y'all really work so hard to pretend goku has any kind of social heirarchy and that scenario wouldn't play exactly the same way with anyone goku loved, but it's too late! we have the freeza saga on your own show to show you he would)
There's no militia, there's no resistance, there's no Help. Trunks is isolated and out of options, his Time Machine only has enough fuel for one trip and he has to take it without Mai. He didn't leave anyone behind, he thinks she's dead. He got out because he thought it was the only thing he could do. He didn't try to bring Goku and Vegeta back, he didn't think there would be a back. He was just keeping his promise to Live, for his mom.
Trunks has no one else in his Timeline. Just him and Mai against Zamas, who has murdered Bulma while she went out to do routine maintenance on their power supply. And Zamas isn't even actively trying to kill Trunks until that point. He's purposefully keeping him alive as a way to make himself stronger. He doesn't hop a ring and go to the AU. He's chillin at his cabin. He's enjoying the cat and mouse game, and is stoked when Goku and Vegeta show up for the same reason. Zamas is abusive and corrosive and DEEPLY self-obsessed (as most fascists are), he panics whenever he starts losing (as most supremacists do), and blames everyone but himself for his situation (as many extreme narcissists do).
And of course this arc wouldn't be complete without Toei's classic 'take everything that was about Vegeta and give it to Literally Anyone Else, just throw him under the bus and completely rewrite how his only time referring to himself as the prince of all saiyans was to goad and distract GB while Trunks healed Goku because Vegeta told him to heal Goku instead of himself for their best chance at winning,, Trunks has to ask Vegeta to go with him to fight Zamas?? Vegeta was like "I'm gonna beat this man to death" the second he found out he killed Bulma lmao be so fr rn!! so this can be about how Goku is morally righteous and a very normal person' but it's fine it's whatever why would I be mad that Vegeta and Trunks aren't doing the intense emotional bonding that losing Bulma would force them to do when we can have (checks notes) Yajirobe be a part of things, for some reason
like i don't--
And Toei just. Nah. We're gonna focus on his power ups and his being mean to Goku, Specifically, is what makes him a bad bad man. "His power is unstable he has complex emotions-"
No he doesn't.
No he absolutely does the fuck not.
He wants every mortal to die and he's having a breakdown that three mortals are standing in his shitty little way. That's it. Very simple emotions. He's behaving like a spoiled brat because he is one.
bruh they even changed it to Vegeta taking an unconscious Goku back to the Present, I'm aksjdkaj
That was fully Vegeta, who snapped at Goku for leaving Trunks behind. (And again, Bulma just??? Being mad at Everyone?? And going to the future?? When in the manga she's running support on the home front?? and then talking up Goku and Vegeta getting mad, despite Vegeta also being like 'i want this mf dead in my hands but Kakarot's our best shot' in the manga?? Adding to his whole motivation in Super of wanting to be strong enough to Not Have to Rely on Goku to protect his family, since his whole thing is consistently not being enough to beat the bbeg? And wtf Little Trunks being super jealous over tiny Mai even though that ALSO is not a thing? He's just "Tiny Boy Laments because his de-aged 42yo Crush has a crush on a 30yo Version of Him after showing No interest in child him because he is, in fact, A Child")
And then had it be Bulma, Trunks, and Mai's fault the seal didn't work when Goku did the ma-fu-ba and accidentally brought one of Roshi's Girlbar coupons instead of the seal?? God Toei's team is really allergic to anything being Goku's fault. Don't think I didn't see you skip over the part where Buu failed his written exam and Goku only barely passed with a 50% and then got mad at Vegeta for suggesting a written exam.
god everything I learn about the anime is the worst thing I've ever learned about the anime aksldjsal
First deciding that ALL of the Z-Fighters, including Gohan and Piccolo, would get their asses collectively beat by Ginyu, who has been a frog for a decade (a frog which was used for the sole purpose of him not being able to switch out of that body, mind), because apparently being a frog is way harder than idk fighting cell and majin buu and beerus, and despite the strongest guy in Freeza's army being Roughly as strong as Cell was, but okay -- just so they could rewrite Gohan's baller action scene of kicking ass and saving Piccolo into Picowo Dead Pls Daddy Save Me I'm Not Stwong Enough Despite Toei Deciding Piccolo Died in Front of Me and My Whole Thing is Rage-Induced Beating Everyone's Ass Syndrome U_U,
but also that Goku Black is doing this because ... Trunks? Upset the timelines? And that, of all the thousands of years of fuckery and 5+ rings from others doing the same shit and having watched a tournament in which one guy's whole thing is altering time, is what we're gonna use to try and drag out this fight and validate Zamas?
And then giving Kale lipstick and making her transformation about a Man? And not about Caulifa getting beat to shit by Freeza to have Kale go 'I thought you'd hate me if you found out I was strong' and Caulifa go 'yo that was fucking rad are you kidding me shine on you crazy diamond'??? Toei that shit was already Highly Lesbeans you didn't need to make it fucking weird and centered around Cabbe and Goku??? FUCKS sake, my man.
I remain so glad Toriyama took Daima away from those writers holy shit lmao Just rehauled the entire thing
and you know what even if I hate it I know it'll be better than whatever the fuck Super's writer's room was on in 2018.
#Toei crawl out of Goku's ass challenge 2024#skimming the manga and retconning everything that isn't riding goku's money-printing dick into the sunset i guess!!!#but looking back it's a long tradition of absolutely trashing toriyama's writing in favor of rampant misogyny and main character worship#even though the manga is much more. ensemble in nature. like goku's the lead but the whole cast contributes a Lot to his ultimate success#because the whole. series. is about love and friendship and growth and redemption. not “Goku is Cool” (spray bottle) Stop it. Stop that.#Let goku be a goofy chaotic little weirdo you goddamn cowards he is NOT the straight in this series. Sexually or Comedically.#haterade#media crit

After a binge of 'The Bear', I don't understand why so many characters in the show say there is something exceptionally strange about Carmen. If anyone, Sydney should get it without knowing anything about his history.
He's an exceptionally gifted, creative guy, and they're Like That.
And by like that I mean that creative people are self absorbed. Or, maybe not self absorbed the way narcissists are, who are literally pondering the genius of them - they don't feel they have to share anything with the world but their supposed awesomeness, in a reality show way. (Like what do these people like the Kardashians even do?) But the creative types want something to exist, want it to be Right, and that has something to do with how they interact with the world. How their self interacts with the thing they're doing. What that results in, what they make, brings joy to those it is for. A lot of joy. Carmen is a three Michelin star chef. What he makes is out of this world good. It is a way of spreading so much love.
But you can't do it if you pour yourself fully into other people. It interferes. You need to make your art, your food, your world record, caring for other people comes second place. It simply does. You do it when you're on a roll, when your first gift gives you so much back that sure, your cup runneth over, you can pour yourself into other people too! And maybe there are people who can do both, but a lot of the time, you're a star chef first and a brother second and Sugar, you can be mad about it all you want, but if you'd take the cooking away from him, he wouldn't even be a brother third.
So many people pour all of themselves in a few other chosen select people. We see that as moral and right and just, and we don't expect any feats of genius. But Carmen is the type of genius who can't do both. You want love from him? You get great food and whatever else he may have left to spare. And it will be less than any other random person who can't do what he does. There is a reason people's relationships with him improve when they join him in his world. He doesn't have to step away from the most important thing to his brain, he has so much more to spare for the people he loves. Of course he pours out his love to Syd while fixing a table, because he doesn't have to choose then.
And, well, is that sociopathic? Yes, if you feel that it's the wrong way to relate to people, if you feel you need to be able to leave something like that behind to go shopping, or watch a game or do things everyone enjoys. But it's not how they work. If you let them show love through what they do, they have more time to watch the game after. Or watch the game at his restaurant and let him serve you the best burger you have ever tasted during, with homemade beer and vanilla coke and fries to die for. Yeah he will come up with a new use for spinach during but so what? You'll also get to talk about what you're up to, how he can help. It's completely legit if that isn't enough and you need to find someone to pour more of themselves into you, but don't blame him, it's no use. His love is in his output first. If you'd have asked Leonardo to stop scribbling for three seconds, for your friendship you might have been fine without the Mona Lisa, but the likely result would have been 1, no Mona Lisa, and 2, a miserable Leonardo. Maybe stop trying to be friends with Leonardo then and find a buddy who isn't obsessed, if this bothers you.
One thing Carmen probably shouldn't do is have kids. That's not fair. He'd only be half a parent. But he's made thousands of lives better in other ways: he's elevated the careers of everyone at the Beef. He gave cousin Richie a purpose within a week. He's going to get Syd her star if it kills him. Poor Sugar is getting the short end of the stick for now, and maybe he can't do much for her in general, but those future birthday cakes are going to be epic. Any food intolerance? He's on it.
Who says that isn't love?

Endings and Beginnings
"You sure about this?" Raph asked. They were on the rooftop of police headquarters, looking down at the streets below. Raph had his foot propped on the parapet, elbow resting on his knee, and was looking at his brother as his toothpick went from the left side of his mouth to the right.
"I am." Leo waited with crossed arms as his backside leaned on the same parapet.
"Chief is goin' to have a stroke." Raph chuckled.
Leo just shrugged. "If she wants our help, she humors me on this."
They both grew quiet as the rooftop door opened and the head of the police department and her aide walked out towards them.
"You wanted to see me?" She asked as she stopped in front of the duo.
"I did." Leo looked at her for a long moment, trying to guess her mood. That is, until he decided that it really wouldn't matter one way or the other. "I'm going to get directly to the point."
"Uh-oh." Raph muttered quietly. He very well knew that tone in his brother's voice. Leo was about to come down hard.
Vincent Raised a brow at that, but Leo didn't give her the time to ask. "I reviewed everything you gave me." His tone was calm, deceptionly reasonable. "Your collection wasn't complete."
"We have ev-"
"No, you don't." Leo almost glared at her now. "Chief Vincent, to put it bluntly, I am pretty certain that the legal system, school system, and military system created this monster that you now can't control."
"Excuse me?"
"You heard me." Leo began dropping files on the ledge. "Her school files. Somehow these didn't make it into your main file. Look it over and tell me what you see."
As soon as she picked that folder up, he dropped the next. "This is the police report and file on the man she killed. Donnie figured out her link to the man. Did you know that he molested her? And the girl he murdered was a close friend of hers? And he never was made to face accountability for what he did to her personally?"
Vincent shook her head no as she read the file she was holding. Jade was looking over her shoulder.
"Of course not." Leo dropped a third. "Did you dig deep enough in her background to learn that she was raped in the army, and the perpetrator was cleared of the charges against her?"
"What are you getting at with this, Leonardo?" She was beginning to look angry.
Good.
"What I'm getting at is this. This woman has literally suffered since she was a child. Bullied, raped, molested, been through hell on deployments, her husband left her and her children with next to nothing. She struggled raising those kids, but she did the best she could. And instead of getting some kind of assistance, her children are taken from her. There is more, but I think you get the point."
"I'm beginning to think you are blaming me for her actions."
"You personally, no." Leo recrossed his arms. "The entire system, yes. So many times has she been let down, hurt, disregarded. Not once did any single agency actually help her. Then, her children are taken away from her. Because of a housing issue. But, did anyone help her? No. She was given the run around. She lost the most precious thing she has. On top of everything else, this was the straw that broke the camels back."
Chief Vincent let out an exasperated sigh. "None of this changes the fact that she is a dangerous individual that needs to face custody and her actions."
"Like those who pushed her to this point are?" Leo raised a knowing brow. Of course they weren't, and everyone on that rooftop knew it. "I've always believed that helping instead of harming was the whole point of all these agencies. And yet, here we are with a very dangerous woman who places the blame on all of those supposed helpful organizations."
"Ya might as well break it to her, fearless." Raph straightened. "This conversation isn't gonna get any prettier."
Leo nodded his agreement. "Chief, you asked for our help, and we will. But only under the condition that she stays in our care, along with her children."
"What!?" The Chief's face was turning an interesting bright shade of red.
"You heard me." Leo's face and voice was stern. "Do you honestly believe that any cell you have can actually hold her?"
"It held Bebop and Rocksteady." She was glowering at him now.
"They're also dumb as shit." Raph rolled his eyes. "She's a hell of a lot more smarter." He paused. "And besides, they still got loose."
"Because the transport-"
"It doesn't matter!" Raph cut her off. "They're out there! Ya'll dropped the ball on that!"
Leo held out a hand to calm his larger brother. "Those are the terms. We get her, or you catch her yourself."
"You can't just take a fugitive in your care!" Vincent almost screeched. "There are legal proceedings that need to be done!"
"We'll take care of that part too." Leo gathered up the paperwork, obviously getting ready to leave. "She won't go unpunished. So, what will it be? We get her or she destroys a few dozen more squad cars?"
Chief Vincent looked at him with a mixture of helplessness and anger. He just met her gaze with his calm one. then, her shoulders slumped in defeat. "Fine. We'll do it your way."
Leo nodded, then laid a hand on her shoulder. "I'm sorry to do this to you. I really am. But I honestly believe this is the best and safest way for everyone.
"I hope you're right." Vincent sighed.
"He usually is." Raph grinned before they both leapt off of the building

Can you please write First Christmas as a couple prompt - 20. trying to buy the moon for their S/O because everything else wouldn't be enough, for 616 Stephen Strange? 🥺
Hope you like it💓🫶🏻
Would you even like it?
Pairing: Doctor Strange x Fem!Reader
Doctor Strange & Wong & Fem!Reader & America chavez
Summary: Coming up on Christmas, Stephen has practically no idea what to get you. Unexpectedly, Wong gives him a crazy idea.
“You need to calm down, Stephen.” Wong's cool voice did not calm the sorcerer at all.
“What if she doesn’t like it, though?” Stephen’s voice full of fustration made Wong look at him with concern.
“I’m sure she’ll like it.” The sorcerer supreme assumed that it wouldn't be too difficult to go shopping with Stephen, but he was so terribly mistaken.
The ex-doctor never really enjoyed shopping, to be honest. Stephen didn't like shopping for clothes or jewelry or spending hours looking around for something he might like. Although it was difficult to find something beautiful or worthy of you, you did deserve something from the sorcerer. All he accomplished was to aggravate his headache, but hey, it's Christmas.
The fact that it was in two weeks wasn't important; it wasn't the point.
So that's why they were out in Paris looking for presents at 10 in the morning, which was way too early for them both. They might not have been so exhausted if it weren't for the fact that night had fallen in America, but let's ignore that.
Why was it so much simpler to buy anything for America or Wong? It was so unfair.
“Look, Stephen. We have been already going throughout this city for at least two hours. I’m sure that she’ll like the necklace.” Wong added, just wishing that Stephen would actually want to go back to the Sanctum. He was exhausted and he really did need to sleep at least 6 hours.
“I don’t know—it’s kind of a cliche.” Stephen started to pace around “Don’t you think that it’s like—very basic?” Without even glancing at Wong, he ran a palm over his face.
Wong eventually stopped even listening to the neurosurgeon when he began to ramble on senselessly. That was absurd. Given that Stephen will give it to you, it stands to reason that you would enjoy it. Sometimes, the two of you were too madly in love to even acknowledge the outside world.
“Are you even paying attention?” Stephen interrupted Wong's train of thought by yelling at him.
"Honestly, no" Can anyone really blame him, though? “Stephen, if you are really going to stress over this, you might as well buy the moon for her.”
Wong didn't believe he would regret saying anything, but when he saw Stephen's expression significantly alter, he did. Oh boy, he recognized that expression on his face.
“You're the best, Wong.” the sorcerer spoke before creating a portal and disappearing through it
He really wasn't going to try to take the moon, was he?
He couldn't pretend that he wasn't initially scared. Even though what he did was rather insane, it eventually turned out okay.
Not only that, but a star is literally a huge, slowly revolving cloud made entirely of hydrogen and helium. Of course, casting a spell to make it little could have caused a lot of issues to occur.
But he made sure it was secure since he wouldn't want you to get injured because of him. Of course, as the star itself gets hotter and denser, a protostar in the shape of a ball results. However, he was able to place it in a transparent comparison.
Stephen checks the necklace while feeling somewhat proud of himself. He didn't truly believe he crossed a line with this. Even if he did missed two nights of sleep, it was still definitely worth it.
Additionally, the spell he created didn't completely obliterate the yard from Kamar-taj, so that’s a bonus.
Uh—In a sense, Maxim Primer's book really did save his life.
He could not deny that the genuine star he placed in the necklace was anything less than fucking spectacular as he grasped it in his hands. Since he has run out of ideas, he is genuinely hoping that you would like the necklace as a gift.
He was back at the Sanctum and as soon as he had finished wrapping your gift, you walked into the bedroom.
“Hey, what’s that?”Even though you were aware that it was one of the Christmas gifts, you still asked.
The small item vanished into thin air with the snap of his fingers as he turned around and grabbed your hand, pulling you ever so slightly closer to him.
“That was your gift.” A smile growed on his face as you pressed a kiss onto his lips, sweet and tender and a bit slow. Once the two of you parted, a shy smile appeared ok your face as you asked “And you’re not going to tell me what’s inside?”
“You're going to have wait till Christmas like everyone else is” he said as he clasped your hands in his and gazed into your mesmerizing eyes.
"What a pity" you uttered in a pretended sorrowful tone.
Even though the second kiss from him was equally brief as the first, it satiated both of your wants.
You let out a small laugh and Stephen thought that he was going to melt right away over how sweet you sounded.
“You’re going to need to stop because you’re going to make me spill the surprise I have for you” Stephen gave you such a loving gaze that it made your heart race.
“Would it really be that bad?” You said as you began to lightly run your finger over his chest.
“Yes, it would.” His head was now leaning over your shoulder and as he leaned closer he released your hand. A smile returned to your face as soon as Stephen's hand touched your own back. Like only a lover could, you were so close to him. You were nearby mentally as much as physically.
You knew Stephen well, he trusted you with his secrets, and you did the same. This clossness was something else, it was intimate, even though the two of you weren’t pressed to each other, bare skin on skin, you two became one. This feeling was so much more.
“So you really won’t tell me?” You asked as he hugged you tighter.
“Not even a chance darling.”
Thanks to America yelling, both of you are awake. At 8:00, you and Stephen both needed to get out of bed. The girl was so excited to be finally celebrating Christmas again after so long. Since she hasn't received gifts for six years, you, Wong, and Stephen made sure that she will be given everything she has ever wanted this year.
But of course she wanted to open the presents right away, she didn’t even want to have breakfast.
Reluctantly, you tore the warm covers off of you and got out of the cozy bed. As you two moved down the corridor, Stephen, who had already gotten out of bed, brought you a cup of coffee. You walked into the living room as you started to hold hands with him and sat down on the couch, seeing America already ripping the paper from each of her presents pretty fiercely.
While America was still concentrating on her gifts, Stephen seized the chance to snap his fingers, causing a small box covered in gold paper to materialize in his hands.
He handed you the box and said, "Merry Christmas, sweetheart."
You carefully removed the golden wrapping paper and exposed a little black box. You lifted the lid to show a stunning gold necklace that had something sparkling so brightly, but you weren't sure what it was.
You were perplexed as you watched Stephen scratch the back of his neck, perhaps out of embarrassment, though there was really nothing he had to be embarrassed about.
“It’s um— a star.” He stated as he looked straight into your eyes.
“Like a real star? From our galaxy?” you looked at him as you quite didn’t believe his words.
“Yep.” Stephen said, popping the ‘p’ which gave away how nervous he actually wad.
“You’re insane.” You smiled brightly at him, not really believing what he has done as you kissed him on the cheek. “But I love it.” He then ran his hand down the lenght of your face and kissed you tenderly on your lips.
Both of you heard the sound of a camera and stopped suddenly looking at America as she grinned looking at her phone. “I hope you both know that album I was making last month, is still in need of a lot of photos.”
“How many exactly?” Stephen asked as he looked at a girl with a soft smile.
“Well the page of Christmas 2024 is literally blank right now so I can take as many as I want.” America said as she got on the floor next to where you two were standing and took a quick selfie of the three of you.
Gosh, you loved your little family, even if it was a little strange.

A while ago I made a theory on Project Edens Garden and with Chapter 1 coming up I thought I'd share some more thoughts as my original theories have shifted slightly.
This will include spoilers from the demo (specifically from WeebyNewz's video) so you have been warned.
I'm going to make a tier list of least to most likely to die characters in this post just to try and visualise how I feel at the moment with information we have. Keep in mind this almost definitely will not be accurate when Chapter 1 does release.
Like many others, I originally theorised that Cassidy would be the one to die in this chapter, but honestly it's so in-your-face that it seems like a red herring. Ingrid also gets a lot of screentime in that little segment at the start, but it's less obvious and while it's unlikely that either of then will die yet, it isn't something that can be ruled out at the moment. There's a strong possibility, but it may be a red herring.
I also want to rule out characters who have barely been given any attention (Desmond, Ulysses, Jett, Mark) as since they haven't had much time to shine, I doubt they'll be victims this chapter (blackened is a possibility, but none of them seem to have a motivation to kill currently).
I also want to rule out Diana and Toshiko, Diana because she seems to be being set up as a support to Damon, as she defends him and goes against Wolfgang and I think if she were to die it's more likely for her to die once the despair truly kicks in, as she knows that a murder is possible but doesn't seem to be motivated from what we see. Toshiko seems too plot relevant to die in the first chapter, plus I doubt anyone in the cast would stoop so low as to kill a child, if she is to die it would be late game and probably as a blackened.
Also I should've mentioned this at the start but I'm completely ruling out Damon and Wolfgang, again they're just too plot relevant and I doubt Damon will pull a Kaede, he's not stupid enough to risk it and Wolfgang is in complete denial, he wouldn't kill anyone at this stage, nor would he be an easy target.
In terms of characters I think might live but there's also a strong possibility of then dying are Kai, Eloise, Jean and Wenona. I have my reasons so just hear me out. Kai and Eloise are two charaxters with clear motive to get out as fast as possible (Kai with his career and Eloise with her mother) which makes them decent candidates for becoming blackeneds. I can honestly see Kai as a victim, since he's both an easy target and not many members of the cast like him. Wenona has her buisnesses but her rivalry with cassidy would be interesting if one were to kill the other, but she seems as if she has room for development and I can see her as a mid to late death. Jean also seems to be getting quite a bit of spotlight this chapter, ehich raises some death flags, especially since he and Tozu seem to be at odds as he discovered the secret area. I wouldn't be surprised if he were executed by Mara.
And now for the characters that I think are most likely to die. I think Eva and Grace are both very likely to die. I think Eva could become a blackened to use the groups distrust of her to make herself seem as if she were framed, then use that to pin the blame in someone else because its never the most likely suspect, is it? In the Bible, Eve is the first to fall to temptation, I think Tozu will make her an offer to act as motivation. Or, she could attempt murder and someone will kill her in self defense.
For Grace, there's an audio file in the trailer that includes a distorted version of her screaming "get me out of here" in the first trial, sounds suspiscious right? Grace has also already had a brush with death once in this game, she wants to get out as soon as possible. She's stressed and in a bad place, and she might do something drastic.
Anyway here's the tier list
Anyway this is all speculation, have a good day
And thank you to the devs for making such an amazing fangan!

“I’m not ready to get hurt again.” + Brettsey
Let's do something from 11x18 but with a small twist cause I can't write unhappy endings 😚
He watches as she leaves the bar, unable to look away.
It's happened twice before.
The first time after Gallo's story about his crazy rescue when he watched her leave, stammering a reply about needing to see a friend.
The second time was the night of Mouch's celebration when he decided to follow her and tell her how he truly felt about her, how he was in love with her and nobody else.
He wants to do it this time too, longs to tell her he misses her on a near daily basis, how he still finds some of her things back at the house in Portland - a random sock here, a hairpin there, a sweater in the back of his drawer. Little things that remind him constantly of what slipped away but things that he couldn't throw away so he kept them in a box in the back of his cabinet.
He's too late, he thinks. She's with someone else, someone who will hopefully give her everything she wants and deserves.
If he were being completely honest, the trip back to Chicago wasn't all for work. Sure, a major terrorism threat in his hometown was reason enough to jump on a plane and make sure local law enforcement, federal law enforcement and first responders were up to speed but part of him wanted to see her again, to maybe get a feel of their situation.
His time in Portland would be over soon and distance not falling out of love was what caused their split in the first place. If distance would no longer be an issue, could they mend what was broken? Could there be some future where they could get back together?
No, he thinks, sighing. He shouldn't do this to himself. He reminds himself that she was with someone else. He can't live in a world of should've, would've, could've forever. He needs to push forward even just in inches, to another future.
He orders another margarita, trying to take his mind off her. He didn't need to brood anymore tonight. He takes a seat at the table Sylvie vacated, observing the merriment all around. It was a night of celebration after all. He should at least try to stop sulking.
Cindy spots him some thirty minutes later, smiling as she walks over to his table.
"How are you, Matt - really," she says in the motherly tone she usually reserves for her kids.
He chuckles, putting on his most easygoing smile. She didn't need to hear about his problems, "doing good."
She raises an eyebrow at his, as if detecting something false in his words. Her lips purse together but she lets it go.
"Anyone keeping you busy?" She asks, a curious tone in her voice, like she was trying to confirm something for herself.
He didn't lie when he told Stella he dated in Portland after the breakup. He did and he tried to get past his relationship with Sylvie but like years ago when they were on the cusp of something, it was hard to forget her and being with someone else made it even worse, lonelier.
He couldn't let it go, let her go - maybe after tonight, he will. Maybe all he needed was to see her and realize that she was doing well herself.
He decides it's best not to tell another lie. Stella had seen right though the first one. He blames it on his panic after that talk with Sylvie. He didn't want it to be an awkward conversation so he just blurted out that he was seeing someone too.
He instead says something that's between a truth and a lie.
"I’m not ready to get hurt again."
It stung like a bitch to be dumped but part of it was his own fault. He could lick his wounds all day and things wouldn't change one bit.
He glances at Cindy, at her expression that he could only describe as 'wise'. He watches as her eyes go to the door.
"I don't think that's happening again any time soon," she tells him sagely, patting his hand before getting up.
She sends him one last wink before walking off to find her husband.
"Hi."
He stiffens, thinking that he must have downed more margaritas than he realized because he thinks he can hear Sylvie's voice.
He turns towards the voice, blinking to validate that he wasn't hallucinating because Sylvie is standing in front of him, blue coat in hand, tentative smile on her face.
He wants to ask her what she was doing back a Molly's so soon but he doesn't. It might scare her away, make her think he didn't want her here.
Because he does. He really, really does.
"Is this seat taken?" she asks, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, looking at him hopefully.
He shakes his head. She lets out a soft, musical laugh, maybe catching onto his sudden nervousness at her reappearance.
"Can I buy you a drink?" He asks, finally finding his voice.
She says something about a jalapeño margarita, smiling in thanks.
It sounds crazy but her words are like some mad hope to him, paving over the cracks in his heart.
He realizes as he's grabbing their drinks that the first time he didn't follow her out of the bar, the second time he did and this time around, she came back to him.
He smiles to himself. Maybe there would be a future where they could get a version of their happy ending.
