I got ensnared by a skincare demonstration kiosk guy at the mall the other day and I keep thinking about it.
I wonder if there was anything about me that set me out as a mark (my nice leather jacket?), or if I was just the fool that stopped.
He was clearly a practiced aggressive marketer, and I know doing this kind of work sucks. I get it! You’re an immigrant, got hired by a recruiting company or a family connection, maybe going to school somewhere around here and have your immigration status attached to your employment, and you get paid awful wages on commission, so you need to make me feel welcome, feel like I need something, feel like I’m letting down a good friend when I say no, so that you can upsell four of your products at once.
And like, I liked the salt! I’m vain enough that skincare marketing works on me! I was seriously considering buying your little 500g tub of fancy 〜exotic〜 large-flake salt imported from the Dead Sea until the moment you said it cost $120.
Like, I know how salt works, Michael. The Dead Sea isn’t some magical health zone imbued with mystical powers from the Orient, it’s a massive salt lake in the middle of the desert. It’s one of the easiest places in the world to make salt. I can by kilograms of the stuff for like $30, and that’s still overpriced.
His last-ditch effort was to reveal the scam—to offer “his employee discount” and sell it to me for $40 (down from “online”, where the price is supposedly $150)—and honestly, had he said that price at the beginning I may actually have bought it. In fact, I considered it then, out of sympathy for a guy on commission, but no, actually, I’m insulted that you thought you could sell me 500g of salt at a 300%+ markup.
When I firmly turned him down he offered to give me a business card with his name, number, and the product name on it, which I accepted, expecting like, an actual nice little card and a brand name (I think it’s Dead Sea Premier).
Instead I get a piece of thin receipt paper with a grease stain, a generic phone number, a letterhead brand name that’s not even the same as the business’s, and the word “sea-salt” under a dashed line.
What am I supposed to do with this! If you’re going to scam me at least be professional about it.
I looked up some reviews of the spa when I got home and this seems to just be their MO. “Laser anti-wrinkle treatment” is just a red lightbulb they scan over your face; multi-month treatment packages drop to half price, then to quarter price, when you decline; they give you a complementary 1.5 hour spa at the start only to suddenly start doing “twice as many treatments” in 45 minutes when they realise that you’re not buying the heavily marked-up products a couple months in.
I wish my experiences were worse so I could put in a good complaint with a consumer protection agency.

The man who killed five people at a Louisville, Kentucky, bank in April was motivated by his outrage over the nation’s gun laws, which he considered lax and hoped a bloody rampage of white victims would spur politicians into action, according to a police report released Tuesday that contained excerpts from the killer’s journal.
Connor Sturgeon, 25, gunned down co-workers inside a conference room at Old National Bank on East Main Street on April 10 after he admitted in his journal that he was suffering from mental health issues, was dissatisfied with his job and the direction his life was taking.
Eight others were injured during the shooting, including a responding officer who was struck in the head and critically wounded. Sturgeon fired more than 40 rounds in about eight minutes, according to the report.
"I have decided to make an impact. These people did not deserve to die, but because I was depressed and able to buy [guns], they are gone," Sturgeon wrote in his journal on April 4, according to the report released by the Louisville Police Department.
"Perhaps this is the impact for change – upper class white people dying. I certainly would not have been able to do this were it more difficult to get a gun."
The April 4 journal entry was the same day he purchased an AR-15 rifle for $500 used in the deadly shooting six days later, according to a receipt in the police report. He also bought 120 rounds and four rifle magazines in a process that took about 45 minutes, he said.
Sturgeon noted his surprise at how straightforward it was for him to purchase the weapon, given his mental health struggles.
"OH MY GO THIS IS SO EASY," he wrote in bold. "I knew it would be doable but this is ridiculous."
He went on to ridicule lawmakers, writing how he wanted his actions to galvanize them.
"I know our politicians are solely focused on lining their own pockets, but maybe this will knock some sense into them. If not, good luck."
Sturgeon wrote that "Democrats get rich [by] doing nothing in the name of civility" while they allow Republicans to "do whatever they want to whoever they want."
"A level of corruption that stands directly between us and progress," he wrote.
The report also reveals that investigators found a plan stored in a Notes app in which he wrote, "They won’t listen to words or protests, so let’s see if they hear this."
Sturgeon appeared to reserve his harshest criticism for the National Rifle Association.
"But let us not forget the most important player here," he wrote on April 9. "The one who made all this possible. [Let's] give it up for the NRA!!"
"I couldn’t have done this without all of your lobbying dollars! You really brought this whole thing together. This is the world you are building. One without any regard for the value of human life."
In Kentucky, Sturgeon faced no barriers to entry as a gun owner since he had no prior criminal record, which means he would have passed the federally required background check, according to the Washington Post.
The state does not have a "red flag" law, a measure to prevent people who are reported to be potentially dangerous from buying and possessing guns.
Nevertheless, such a law may not have prevented Sturgeon from buying the weapon because his mental health struggles had not been reported to authorities.
Sturgeon’s family has said they intend to sue the maker of the rifle used in the attack.
The report also contained a picture of Sturgeon taking a selfie on April 5 that showed him making a "joker face," which authorities say is a trend popular on social media.
Authorities say they have closed the investigation into Sturgeon’s actions.
He was shot dead by police later that day, and investigators determined that the actions of the officer who shot Sturgeon were not criminal.
The five employees killed were Joshua Barrick, 40, a senior vice president; Deana Eckert, 57, an executive administrative officer; Thomas Elliott, 63, also a senior vice president; Juliana Farmer, 45, a loan analyst; and Jim Tutt Jr., 64, a commercial real estate market executive. Elliott was a close personal friend of Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear. Of the five victims, only Farmer was black.

Dusk's Guide on How 2 Make Bank
A humble biography of a Lioden player who has developed a problem of having Too Much Shit.
I've been playing Lioden since mid 2014, on and off, but it hasn't been until the last year or two that I've really buckled down and gotten deep into it! For the very few followers I have right now who may appreciate the tips, here is how I've made BANK on Lioden:
Monthly Events
Really, that's all there is to it. Be aware of the monthly events that produce the most profit and keep an eye on the game market over time. Use the demand for previous months' items to your advantage! In the span of about half a year, I got enough currency and items to buy 2 First Generation Leopons, A Hexa-Dawn heir, 3 Mukomberos, more marking and base apps than I care to count, other random instant-gratification type goodies, and STILL have items and $$$ left over.
DISCLAIMER: Keep in mind, what I've done is far from perfect profit, and I've entirely skipped quite a few profitable events. All of the values I use below is using the average MAXIMUM market value for each item. Maximum market value usually occurs 6-7 months After the respective event, OR a month or two before the item returns as some items like Buffalo and lion scrotums are available in more than one monthly event.
All my event currency was collected using two accounts (my main and side). This method can be used to maximize your personal profit regardless of how much you grind, as long as you end each event with enough currency to buy some of the "token items" by the end of the month.
EVENT 1: SEPTEMBER (Locust Plague)
TOKEN ITEMS: Ochre Gnawrocks (150 JB) / Maximum Value ~60-70 GB GMO Cows (150 JB) / Maximum Value ~50-60 GB
Without straining myself to grind, I still managed to make about 3,000 JB and some change by the end of the month. I bought 10 GMO cows and 10 Ochre Gnaws, exactly. I buried them in my hoard to await the next month.
EVENT 2: OCTOBER (To Hell with Rabies)
TOKEN ITEMS: Crunchy Worms (300 BB) / Maximum Value ~50-60 GB Shadows of Death (30 NF) / Maximum Value ~15 GB Angelic Blessings (60 DS) / Maximum Value ~20-25 GB
This is where the main idea of my strategy comes into play! Personally, I split my two accounts between the storyline options to give myself access to BOTH Angelic Blessings and Shadows of death, but this works just as well if you double-down on one side.
Grind BB and NF/DS to your heart's content. At the end of the month, use your currency to buy as many Crunchy worms, AB and SoD as you can manage.
MOST IMPORTANTLY... dig up your buried Gnawrocks and GMO Cows.
In the trading center, put these items up for trade one at a time in exchange for MULTIPLE crunchy worms. I asked for about 2-3 crunchy worms per Gnaw/Cow, and that amount sold well.
By trading in most of my Gnaws + Cows for multiple Crunchies each, in addition to my own grinding, I ended October with 60 Crunchy Worms, 2 Gnawrocks, and 2 Cows. I turned my ~1200+ GB hoard into a ~3500+ GB hoard (not including the SoDs or AB from the heaven/hell shops)
Bury your worms.
EVENT 3: FEBRUARY (Aphrodisia)
TOKEN ITEMS: Buffalo Scrotums (60 HS) / Maximum Value ~45-50 GB Lion Scrotums (80 HS) / Maximum Value ~55-65 GB Yohimbe Barks (30 HS) / Maximum Value ~20-25 GB
If you don't grind any other month of the year, February is the event I highly recommend you GRIND THE HELL OUT OF! February is the single biggest cashcow event on Lioden with so many valuable breeding items being offered in the shops at one time.
At the end of this past February, I accrued about 5,000 total HS with constant grinding. I bought 120 Yohimbe Barks, 20 Buffalo Scrotums, and a couple lion scrotums at the end of the month.
Again, i dug up the crunchy worms from my hoard, and traded half of them for Yohimbe Barks and Buffalo Scrotums.
For 1 Crunchy worm, I asked for 4 buffalo scrotums OR 8 yohimbe barks.
At the end of February, I ended up with 100 Buffalo Scrotums, 160 yohimbe barks, and 30 Crunchy Worms.
My ~3500+ GB hoard had become a nearly ~10,000 GB hoard
I'm not totally proud to say that I immediately dumped about half of my yohimbe barks into failed hybrid breedings, essentially tossing 1700+ GB down the drain... but hey! It's part of the game and thrill of the gamble.
This is where I've ended my profit-maximizing and also where I decided to splurge most of my hoard on the previously mentioned expenses. I did NOT trade most of these items for their full MAXIMUM value as I did not wait for their values to increase on the market. I traded most of my hoard's potential value for instant gratification, but I'm still very happy with what I've achieved given that it did not cost a cent of IRL money and did not take so much effort that it disturbed my IRL obligations!! Keep in mind, I worked full time all while playing this game, so it's do-able!
I fully plan to repeat this process (;
Thank you to the 2 people maybe reading this, and I hope it's helped<3

Oh I love this because it makes my brain itch and I wanna argue with them about their choices of color model because I'm a color theory nerd 😂
Unfortunately as a human I am convinced there is actually a correct answer scientifically and not just in my heart. It's like debatable, that's the point, but I am flawed and believe there's a right answer. Or at least answers that are less wrong. (I'm not...really serious here I promise. It's not deep.)
The FIRST most correct answer is:
This is all a trick question bitches!!! cyan is a distinct wavelength according to science ask the photons!!
Tumblr media
Second correct answer: anyways green-blue and blue-green are valid designations and distinctions when you're talking about perception and not wavelength facts. (And artists use cyan as a blue in color mixing.)
Anyways, my own result:
Tumblr media
Hue angle 168, which is 'greener than 85% of the population."
I was like "okay but hue 168 by WHOSE SYSTEM?"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They're using HSL which makes me sad because I consider it to be inferior to both the CIELAB and CIECAM color models when it comes to human perception of color. CIE colorimetric models are superior literally every way in my not humble onion.
I....am dying to know why they used HSL. Like pause. In HSL green is 120 and blue is 240 which is a MASSIVE range. Like yellow and green are exactly 60 degrees apart, but green and blue are 120 degrees apart?? RGB models are so wild for this.
Hsl is a color model whose biggest known flaw is literally (quoting Wikipedia here):
criticized for not adequately separating color-making attributes, or for their lack of perceptual uniformity.
Anyways cyan 🩵!!
Tumblr media
In direct contrast to html saying "180 is cyan" if I were to pull out a paint representing primary cyan, I would pick out phthalo turquoise (PB16) or phthalo cyan (PB17). [And then I pedantically say pb means pigment - blue, here.]
The average CIECAM J,a,b values for phthalo turquoise (PB16) are: 23, -36, -27, with chroma of 44 (estimated hue purity of 52) and a hue angle of 217.
The average CIECAM J,a,b values for phthalo cyan (PB17) were: 35, -50, -46, with chroma of 68 (estimated hue purity of 69) and a hue angle of 223.
So "ur blue is turquoise and hue 168" threw me bc I'm a CIECAM bitch and the hue angle of turquoise to cyan there is like... 210-220 range! Even pb36 cobalt turquoise is still like... "The average CIECAM J,a,b values for cobalt turquoise (PB36) are: 39, -45, -17, with chroma of 48 (estimated hue purity of 49) and a hue angle of 201."
Look see!
Tumblr media
Anyways all this to say it's all relative to the model you use or whatever and how you wanna use it and for what purpose yay.
I treat cyan as a blue, and on the HSL scale, cyan is the midway point between green (120) and blue (240) at angle 180! So they say the average person says the green blue divide is around 180, which is cyan.
Personally: because I use cyan as a distinctly Blue color in color mixing (and not an in-between!), my "blue" is very greenish at 168, BUT it is actually very close to the midpoint between green (120) and cyan (180) which would be 150!
I worked on the basis of "if I'm mixing a paint, cyan performs like a blue, and therefore the blue/green divide is midway between green and cyan." I'm not actually "right" I just have big feelings in my heart and everyone else is ALSO right about their green. And blue.
They really chose such a flawed color model for capturing color differentiation though, which is why lots of people feel like it's unclear, arbitrary, or even inconsistent. The HSL model is distinctly not very good at capturing the blue-green variations with specificity. So. Yeah.
💫 yay colors
Is My Blue Your Blue? A visual perception test that judges what you call blue and green and compares it with others’ results. I am “bluer than 68% of the population.” Now do red/pink, red/orange, and blue/purple!

Cyber Sleuth! I haven't been talking about it much, but have been playing constantly. I'm around...45 hours in? Or so? And great news! I have only 37 mons left before the whole database is filled, and I think am very few away from having everything that doesn't require Hacker's Memory to complete!
"Wait, you're not at Hacker's Memory yet? How...how far in are you?" Chapter 13. ...look, I got distracted, Avalon server was a good place to level so that took like a full day but I needed to alter natures before I could get some others and Chapter 13 gave another good grinding spot and I could buy the patches so we're doing round 2 now. It's fine.
I mention all this for context and as a warning. Everything I say must be filtered through the lens of me objectively playing the game wrong.
See, Digimon feels very distinct from other monster catching games, in that the sense of collecting all of them seems to be outright the wrong thing to do. Sure, Pokemon has similar issues, but more because of version exclusives, obtuse evolution methods involving trades, and the horrors of actually catching a legendary Pokemon. Digimon approaches things a bit differently.
In part, this difference is due to two stats: CAM and ABI. CAMaradarie is a measure of friendship. You increase it by 1 every battle they frontline, and can feed them Digimeat which is exorbitantly expensive for the shit amount of CAM it provides. It caps at 100%, and some evolutions require varying amounts, usually 10% for low levels, 50% for mid-tiers, and 80% for later tiers, but 100% is needed for two monsters that fuse together.
ABIlity is a measure of...uh...evolution? It goes up when you evolve up or down, with more points being added every increment of 5 levels. ABI requires 20, 40, or 80 in most situations, though there's the rare occurrence of 100 and 120 for really high-tier stuff. Mostly your solution is to evolve up then back down repeatedly to generate ABI, because it is not getting where it needs to go off a straight shot.
As someone who has spend [REDACTED] hours grinding levels for evolutions, these two scores are the bane of my goddamned existence. ABI feels like it's the significantly harder number to work with when playing normally, because the values are incredibly small, and 80 is a tall fucking order when you've reached endgame and have like 37 points on your starter (thing that happened to my wife). When you grind, however, CAM is your mortal enemy. Man, I am not rotating around who's in the front, I have PlatinumNumemon x2 and Angewoman for we can maximize EXP yields while still having someone who can fight good. Everything else is in the back. CAM sucks ass, because it's stupid slow if you don't already have the numbers working in your favor. Needing two at maximum then fusing them together is extra frustrating.
But even worse than that is the stats demanded of some evolutions. To some degree, I understand this. There are clear evolutionary paths. Lunamon -> Lekismon -> Crescemon -> Dianamon is a very clear bunny promotion in the same vein as most other monster catching games. However, given the wild branching of Digimon evolution, you can jump ship to another form along the way, should your stats be good enough. At times, this results in just needing to level more, while at others, it is outright impossible to achieve without training. This is sometimes understandable, but without any means of showing what else evolves into the thing you're missing, it's basically impossible to tell what the intended path is at times. Like...I forget what it became, but I had this little egg with legs mon that, with enough SP and INT, could evolve into something I didn't have. Eggmon is not good at either thing, but it came close at level 99. The only means of getting to that evolution would be finding something else entirely that somehow loops to it, or forcing the issue with training.
Problem: training is incomprehensible to me. At best, I understand a few factors that influence how Digimon train. See, to train, you put up to 10 Digimon in your Digifarm, and set them to train. They are unusable during this time, though you can interrupt to swap them out.
Step 1: set the level of training. Basic takes TWO HOURS and doesn't give a ton, but it's neutral otherwise. Because the harder training also drops CAM. So god help you if you need both stats and CAM.
Step 2: Set your Farm Equipment. You can boost how much stats go up when you train by setting equipment that boosts a particular stat. This equipment is fucked expensive.
Step 3: The equipment is basically useless unless you're already training that stat. See, it ups numbers, but does not determine what everyone trains. No, they train potentially two stats at once. The first is whatever the stat of your Leader is. If the Leader has, say, Lively, great news! Egg digimon is training its SP! But this also means that even with HP boosting equipment, your Infermon you needed to get a little more HP out of won't gain fuckall unless your leader has Durable. But wait! There's another means of training a stat, and that is by your own nature! Yes, it will only train the stat you are already good in, and the stat of your designated leader! Nothing else. As far as I'm aware. Nevermind that my wife somehow managed to evenly train a ton of stats, I'm assuming that's because they were Searcher or Builder.
Step 4: come back after half an hour and losing all your CAM to find that your stats stopped increasing anyway. Yeah, turns out your bonus stats are capped based on your ABI. At 200 ABI, which is a fucking disgusting number by the way, you get the maximum of 150 bonus points. Less ABI, less bonus stats. So unless you also farmed the ABI, those bonus stats may well not even apply anyway!
If it's not clear, I despise this system. It's excessively irritating and creates multiple obtuse roadblocks to finishing the database. Systems pull back and forth at each other and nothing feels like it'll stay done when you have so many areas of need.
But this is where we have to talk about why I'm playing the game wrong. See, again, Digimon is not much of a monster catching game. It's a RPG with a massive rotating cast. Their intent, I assume, is to just use the ones you attach to and beeline toward higher stages. If something requires high ABI, well, that's for NG+. You can loop back around that way if you'd like. But you're not, I don't think, supposed to sit here grinding for ages to boost up your ABI. You're supposed to look at Lilithmon as something unattainable without NG+ to build up ABI and stats. Because yeah, Lilithmon is one of those with stats legitimately too high without training.
In essence, if I had been playing this game correctly, I would've taken my Palmon, Lunamon, Renamon, etc. and just pushed them up the evolutionary paths, accepting whatever I got along the way, and only doubling back if the next step up had an ABI block or I didn't like the look of that route. It's a little more streamlined that way, and you're less likely to encounter the three-hour progress annihilator I hit.
See, evolution and de-evolution sets your level to 1, and regardless of how much of anything you built up, without bonus stats, you are still very much level 1. For much of the game, being high tier enough offsets this. But eventually you'll hit a boss that can't be hurt badly enough and you learn that you apparently haven't saved in three goddamned hours and lost a ton of progress OOPSIE DOODLES
It's also...probably supposed to be a measure against what I do, which is try to get coverage. Like okay, Palmon's main line is all Plant stuff. But! If I go up MudFrigimon -> Meteormon, I can get a magic Ground type attack, and that's Coverage. Which...does not matter. As it turns out. The Data/Vaccine/Virus designation is significantly more important than the type matchup. There are typeless mons that aren't in that triangle, and I guess that's when the element comes into play, but it feels largely like a waste. I'm also just kinda unimpressed with buffing broadly? Like, it's fine, but is a 10% off your base stats. Which is not very much most of the time, as it turns out! So mostly, all you need is one good attack (and a lot of final forms have signature moves of a different type than their main, so you'll have two anyway), some good heals/revives, and...that's kinda it. So yes, I am willing to admit I wasted my time "optimizing" some favorites for combat.
On the plus side, the story's pretty good. Yuuko is my favorite, to no one's surprise. Really wound up liking both Arata and Nokia, too. Suedou is hilarious, kinda love this dude. And now that the Digimon are present, I'm kinda here for the conflict with the Royal Knights and everything they've got going on. I think that's a lot of fun, in the same way it was a lot of fun when Nexomon had things like the Tyrant Wars or the Abyssals.
I should get back to story, but...I gotta get these mons in the dex. I gotta. I'm so close, you don't understand. It's like right there, I gotta do it.

I think we paid €176 each which us like £150 I think? But half an hour later the exact same tickets were €350+ 💀
It does require a lot of planning and saving but it's so worth it and I'm so grateful I can do that and sometimes it's even cheaper to travel which is wack??
Like I can travel to a gig an hour away and buy the ticket, transport and hotel and it would cost half the amount of a ticket in my city 😭
but also costs in the venue are INSANE? I can't even lie we always smuggle in gig sweets 😂 because the drinks can cost up to £8.50 lmaoo
And merch too like unless I really really love it I just can't justify £40+
that'd be about right if not lower, i think the value of the pound has being going down since brexit (again i only really know this from working in a gift shop in which we had to discontinue some british suppliers because of high inflation costs in the last year) so it could potentially lower overtime. it also depends on where exactly you'll be in the venue as the closest you are to the venue or at the bestest view possible you're gonna fork out more money
im pretty sure my trip to edinburgh wouldve been cheaper back then and even now to see noel fielding than if i were to travel from outside Ireland to go to a gig in dublin for instance with an artist of the same levels of popularity as him
im pretty sure it's cheaper in belfast for gig prices?? i remember yngwie malmsteem was playing somewhere in the city centre and it was pretty cheap like £20-30?? FOR YNGWIE MALMSTEEM??? belfast is cheap for food/drink and even its cheaper and more efficient travel wise to go there via bus (not my favourite but cheaper than the train, which is also cheaper funny enough in comparison to getting a train from dublin to somewhere like waterford for instance)
girl how do you manage to bring gig sweets?? what is your secret??? i worked in bars for concerts and events for a few months 2 years ago and most places forbade people to bring their own food/drink even if they were the most lenient venues possible
yes i agree about the merch, i feel like they're always at ridiculous prices in dublin even if it's the most low-key band - iirc whelan's would sell merch relatively cheap or possibly opium and/or the olympia. the judas priest/support acts tees costed like €45 and battle vest shirts costed €120... crazy money

My favorite pre-packaged safe foods
Now, I know that not ALL of these are considered “low cal” but they are my personal favorite safe foods. I tried to list all of the prepackaged ones I could think of, because everyone knows that fruits and vegetables are generally safe, depending on the person. Hopefully I can help some people find new things that they like and wont give them *too* much anxiety when eating; because I’d ALWAYS rather someone eat something instead of fast, if possible. Everything is under 400 calories, and almost all can be found at Walmart, some at Sam’s Club or on Amazon! You’ll probably see a few of these products in the recipes I plan on posting here! Hopefully this helps!

A Glimpse of the Semester...
Everyone always says how fast semesters go once they get going, and it's true once again! It is crazy to think that we are already writing our final blog posts for this class, and it feels like last week that I was creating my first Tumblr account and following all of my classmates who I did not know anything about. I am not sure whether it is the format, the class, or the layout of our discussions but it feels as if this semester has had some of the most engaging and interesting discussions while I have been at university. I find it difficult to take a whole semester of readings, course content, assignments, and discussions with peers, and pack it into a relatively small blog post… but I am going to do my best!
3 Things I Know About Human Geographic Research
1. The first thing I can say I know about human geography, is more broadly what it is, and how qualitative methods of human geography are used in human geography. The first chapter of the textbook does a really good job at outlining from the beginning what it is, and how its complexity and open-endedness can be used. What I mean by that is exactly what the textbook says, that qualitative methods in human geography are concerned with “elucidating human environments and human experiences” (Hay 2016, p. 5). Fundamentally, all of the analysis, research, interpretation, and methods employed by qualitative human geographic investigators circles back to the goal of answering questions related to social structures and or individual experiences (Hay 2016, p. 5). At the beginning of the course, this idea of tackling both structural macro questions/issues along with individual experience or micro issues was hard for me to conceptualize. At this point I have a better understanding of the goal of qualitative research, human geography, and the methods employed to find answers about social and human behaviour.
2. I mentioned the breadth of human geography in my first point, which leads me to the second thing I know about human geography. I know now how much is captured in the term human geography, or human geographic research. Not only was the idea of human geography not clear to me, but the ideas and sub-topics of human geography were not either. From the textbook readings, weekly course content, and our newest Digital Storytelling Project, some of the most prominent subtopics of human geography have become more clear to me. We have all taken a different approach and topic in our group projects; from social, cultural, economic, political, health, environment, and the list goes on (Hooykaas 2021). These are only a few subtopics, and the important thing I realize now is that human geography is everywhere we look, and it matters in order to find answers and ask more questions about the world we live in!
3. Since the topic of human geography is so broad and all-encompassing, I now know how important and diverse the use of research, knowledge, and analysis can be in the real-world with the help of human geography. The specific example from this course that allowed me to value knowledge, analysis, reflection and research most was the way we can use it to break down social barriers of knowledge. Using cross-cultural research methods, ethics, and relationships, we can impact more inclusive research methods and break down previously colonial ways of understanding knowledge (Hay 2016, p. 45). Specifically from chapter 4, we gained an appreciation and understanding of the way colonial values and power shaped our understanding of the validity of knowledge (Hay 2016, p. 76). Using different, and equally valuable knowledge like feminist and indigenous approaches to research in geography can not only further our research in human geography, but can keep strong subjectivity and equal value in different kinds of knowledge, from people, cultures and places around the world (Hay 2016, p. 85).
Tumblr media
3 Things I Am Confused By
1. I am still confused by concepts about Foucaldian Discourse Analysis in chapter 14. This might be too narrow of a topic to take for this blog, but the idea of discourse analysis still does not seem to make complete sense to me. I understand Gordon Waitt explains it as an “interpretive approach in geography… used to make sense of the world within particular social and temporal contexts” (Hay 2016, p. 288). This still teams like too large of a definition, or unspecific an explanation to make sense to me, or make me understand that it is in fact important and integral to the way we see the social structures we live in.
2. The second thing I am confused by still is in that discussion about the broad topic of human geography. I know it relates to most, if not every thing in our social and physical lives, but when is it not human geography? That may seem unclear as a question, but it seems confusing to me to try and place human geography within a boundary. Every topic or research method has parameters in which it focuses, but this seems like such a broad idea that I am not sure I can wrap my head around what is and what isn’t human geography, if it actually relates to everything.
3. The last thing that is considerably still confusing to me is the idea of universal objectivity and situated knowledges. We read about these topics in chapter 19, and I still am having a hard time understanding them individually and how they exist together. Situated knowledges is explained in the text as one of the most useful approaches to “contest universalist forms of knowledge” (Hay 2016, p. 400). This idea however, still gives me a hard time to fully understand it.

3 Things I Know About Myself as Human Geographic Researcher
1. I can’t assume that I am a human geographic researcher now, and that my road to learning, analyzing, research, reflecting, and creating is done just because this course is coming to an end. I can however, distinguish the very few things I know about myself so far, as a human geographic researcher. The first is that I know I won’t place inherent value on a specific type of research or knowledge. I mentioned it earlier briefly, but I feel that the impacts from assuming a type of knowledge or method of research is “correct” compared to another is problematic, and has the power to perpetuate age old colonial values. I know I will use the skills I have learned and will continue to learn, to provide reflection and knowledge of my own, while never discounting or taking for granted the knowledge of others.
2. Secondly, I know I am a people person. I have known this for a while, but specific to human geographic research, I will always feel more confident and comfortable having discussion, reflection, or doing research in groups, or with others rather than alone. I found that although it was a lot of fun too, this blog post forum made this class a lot more enjoyable and gave me an environment to discuss and reflect with others! This comment goes along with now knowing the power of critical reflexivity in research and discussions, and to not discount the value of discussion with peer researchers, interviewees, or during the research process.
3. The final thing I have learned about myself as a human geographic researcher is my interest in qualitative methods of human geography, over quantitative ones. Although I understand the importance of having both, I much prefer the use and methods in qualitative research rather than quantitative. This ties into my interest in group work and working with people, instead of numbers. Asking questions, making inquiries, participants in research, and listening to the stories of people (Hay 2016, p. 117-120) is what I find most interesting and appealing about this type of research method.
Tumblr media
3 Things I Need To Spend Time On
1. Having expressed my interest for qualitative methods of human geographic research, I need to start focusing and learning more about quantitative methods. I think its important to have a wholistic view and understanding of human geography, and I can’t do that if I isolate myself from an entire side of geographic research. I understand that this textbook is aimed directly at qualitative methods, however, there are lessons from quantitative research that can be used in qualitative research as well. Organizing, analyzing, coding, and surveys all can be used (as seen in chapter 18) as a means of communicating and interpreting qualitative research (Hay 2016, p. 373). Yet, these are different skills than interviewing, listening, or reflecting on the very typical qualitative methods of research. I need to spend time on the things that don’t come to me as easily, or interest me as much, to give myself a general confidence in human geographic research.
2. The second area of human geography I need to more fully appreciate and understand is the value in historical perspectives and accounts and research. I find myself interested in human geographic research now, and interested in the future of social structures and individuals. Historical geography and reflecting on the past seemed boring or unproductive to me. I discredited the research that can be done contemporarily, based on the history of social identities, and not just solely focusing on the research that has yet to be done or discovered. This specific need relates to chapter 11, when Roche discusses historical research and “archival sources” (Hay 2016, p. 226). Michael Roche even discusses interest he has had in the past “30 years of being a historical geographer (Hay 2016, p. 225). There is something here I have yet to find interest in, but again, in order to further my skills and my full research potential, this is a crucial part of human geography I need to spend more time on.
3. Lastly, I find myself rushing to get answers or skipping ahead to find the ultimate “research findings” when I am reading, or even trying to do research of my own. I need to work on my patience as a researcher, and not be so set on finding a single concluding answer in research. Instead, I need to assume that the process of research and analysis is the answer, and that the answers will appear sometimes in the wait or in the depths of research. Finding definitive answers is exciting, but especially in a field as broad and open as human geography, I need to build my ability to reflect on and analyze answers that come from the research process.
I hope this small amount of information has given you all a glimpse into my perceptions of the course, and my own learning along with it. I truly did not know the importance of human geography, qualitative research, or its actual application in the real world. I have really enjoyed being a part of this class and sharing blogs with one another every week! I hope you all have had a similarly educational, interesting, and engaging semester in this blog forum. All the best to everyone this summer!

STILL GOT ME SOBBING MY EYES OUT WEEKS LATER AT BAYEK’S MUST HAVE POKÉMON, TEECUP!
But but but I would like to add to this-
To get a Sylveon your Eevee needs to learn a Fairy-type move. So just out of silly curiosity (totally not bc I’m hyperfixated on Pokémon & Assassin’s Creed rn…) what would the evolution mechanism look like for Desmond?
Okay so taking a look at Eevee’s stats from Scarlet and Violet (since that’s the most recent Pokémon mainstream game), it looks like Eevee learns Baby-Doll Eyes at level 15, and then Charm at level 45. Which means there’s plenty of time to level Des- I mean Eevee up to get a natural Fairy-type move + raise friendship.
Now I personally have never looked into the friendship mechanic, I’m more of a “fight everyone and hit them until they’re down” player haha.
However exceptions can be made for our beloved blorbo Desmond.
*some Googling later*
Basics:
Okay so friendship goes from 0–255. Every Pokémon has a base value when it’s caught. But ooo! If you hatch a Pokémon from an Egg, it automatically has a value of 120 FP. If a Pokémon is caught in a Friend Ball, it starts with 200 FP.
Eevee’s caught friendship value is 70 (Gens 1-7) or 50 (Gen 8).
(I’m not gonna mess with Affection since that’s a whole ‘nother mechanic that I’m too lazy too research lol)
And since Desmond is already bonded to his ancestors via the Animus Experience TM, like you said he’ll already have a pretty high stat. I’ll place it maybe around 120 for his ancestors (equivalent to being hatched from an egg) and maybe 80-100 for his non-ancestors?
I can’t seem to find a solid number for Scarlet and Violet friendship levels. Which meeeans a dead end. “High friendship” is vague.
Conclusion:
So hypothetically, Desmond’s first Fairy-type move would be at level 15. If he’s with his ancestors, then we can safely say he’d probably evolve (game mechanics only, not anime-) at that level. However it’s entirely possible, as long as he has a Fairy-type move, for him to evolve at really any time.
I am all for Sylveon!Desmond and I will share it with the world.
What if we take the fact that Desmond gets an eevee in all of the Pokémon aus and combine it with the Desmond gets turned into an animal subgenre into Desmond gets sent into the past as an eevee and disregarding the need for evolutionary stones and just going off of the lore of eevee evolving to suit their habitat what eeveelution each protag would end up with
…………………
Nonny.
There’s only one true answer to this…
And it is: SYLVEON!!!
Tumblr media
There’s no way in hell that Desmond as an Eevee would not evolve into a Sylveon. No matter which protagonist it is, Desmond would definitely become their loyal and closest friend, especially if it’s one of Desmond’s ancestors!
Sylveon!Desmond is inevitable!
Sylveon!Desmond is canon!
But because it’s fun to think about other possibilities, here’s what I think Desmond would evolve into for each protagonist IF AND ONLY IF Sylveon is not available:
Altaïr: Jolteon, mainly because Jolteon is the fastest of the Eeveelutions and Desmond would want to keep up with Altaïr. Also, Jolteon’s electric moves, especially Thunder Wave that paralyzes opponents, would be something Altaïr would prefer to have as it could be used in combat and utility (With a Jolteon!Desmond, Altaïr could honestly speed up technological advancement to OP levels)
Ezio: Vaporeon, mostly because of Venice and Rome having large bodies of water that a Vaporeon could take advantage of. Not only that but Desmond would definitely go for a water type evolution on the slim chance he could save Monteriggioni by dousing the fires that would erupt from Cesare’s attack.
Ratonhnhaké:ton: Probably Leafeon to be honest due to the abundance of forest that Ratonhnhaké:ton would travel to. If I was being mean, I would pick Flareon as a reference to the burning of his village and how that tragedy shaped Ratonhnhaké:ton. (Doubly-mean would be Desmond actually evolving during the burning of his village and he’d be a constant reminder of that day and Ratonhnhaké:ton’s mother’s death)
(BONUS) Haytham: I wanna give him Vaporeon and that’s because Desmond had already evolved when he was with Edward and he’s staying with Haytham because he cares for the Kenway family. If Desmond is an Eevee when Haytham finds him, he’d probably evolve to an Umbreon instead, maybe?
Edward: Vaporeon, hands down. The whole sailing thing is the main reason why.
Shay: Glaceon because of how Shay’s Morrigan traveled to icy locations.
Arno: Espeon because of Arno’s strange almost psychic capabilities to see the memories of the people he kills. Espeon was also picked because that big red jewel on the forehead would be a symbol of the nobility that Arno is part of and surrounded when he was growing up.
Jacob and Evie: Flareon for both the industrial setup of London that focuses on fire and heat. Also, Flareon shows how many of Jacob and Evie’s missions usually ends in an explosive manner (usually metaphorically but can also be literal).
Bayek: I kinda wanna say Leafeon because there are a lot of luscious greenery in Egypt as well but probably Umbreon as a reference to the mystery that Bayek is trying to uncover and also as a reference to how his ‘memory corridor’ is always shrouded in darkness.
Kassandra: Espeon because of the weird demi-god stuff Kassandra can do is more or less sorta connected to Espeon’s psychic capabilities. Both cannot be explained as human feats.
Eivor: Glaceon because of Norway and as a reference to where Yggdrassil can be found.
As for the other Pokemon AU…
Here’s the Detective Pikachu AU where Desmond gets transported into that world.
Here's our ideas with what Pokemons AC protagonists (bonus: Desmond's sun-themed Pokemon party) and the Isus should have (bonus: Bayek's must have Pokemon XD)

10 Best Gaming Laptops Under Rs 90K in India 2021
Tumblr media
If you are looking for a decent machine and portable, a gaming laptop is the best option you have. This is the Best Gaming Laptops Under Rs 90K pick right now , the one that I would buy for myself. Today I have compiled a list of the ten best gaming laptops available for purchase in India under the mark of Rs 90,000. Enough to download one portable gaming computer that can handle a host of other tasks at hand and offer the benefits of full functionality with the added bonus of consistent travel and solid build quality. Before I go any further I would like to lay out the basics on which laptops were chosen on what basis as we talk about the big investment here :
Things Are Remembered While Making This List
2021 towards the end of September. 1) The picture card should be about 1650, 1650ti, 1660 Ti or RTX 2060 6GB best. 2) The screen refresh rate should be 144Hz or 120Hz, according to the IPS panel preference. Although some have an LED screen. 3) A good SSD is required, with fast start times as the HDD slows down over time. 4) We've tried to get the Ryzen 5-4600H more, as it can compare to the i7, but there's an intel mix with Ryzen on the list. 5) Decent RAM, Backlit keyboard, good quality built-in priority. Tip: Bookmark this list, cos you won't find another one like this!
Best Gaming Laptops Under Rs 90K
1) Victus by HP Ryzen 7 5800H ( Ryzen 7 5800H , 4GB RTX 3050Ti , 144Hz , 512GB SSD , 16GB RAM , IPS , 100% sRGB )
Tumblr media
Victus by HP Ryzen 7 5800H This is the best pick right now , the one that I would buy for myself. The new HP offering comes with an excellent combination of 4GB RTX 3050Ti and Ryzen 7 5800H, which is enough to put this animal on top of the list from September 2021. A portable computer looks stylish, like a high-quality portable computer with a strong build and retains weight (2 kg 480 g). While playing you can expect a good backup of up to 3 hours. HP has done well to keep fan noise low and heat well, even when playing high performance. Provides a comfortable, unobtrusive, no-bleeding screen. The start time is quite fast with a 512GB SSD and 16GB RAM. You will enjoy typing on this machine, the keyboard is set back (static). The only part I didn't enjoy was the weeding and cultivating. See Cheap Price: Amazon 2) HP Omen  ( Ryzen 5 4600H , 1660ti , 512 GB SSD , 8 GB RAM , IPS display 45% NTSC )
Tumblr media
HP Omen There are so many laptops out there, we just need some research. That's how I find these hidden treasures. 1) Now, tell me where you can get Ryzen 5 & 1660ti for this price. 2) Obviously this would be our only number one choice if the display (60 hz) and battery would have been much better. As a measure of better refreshment perhaps. 3) Highly speaking, the built-in quality is very decent and the thermals are good in this laptop, which means less heat. Yes! Yes! 4) This laptop is often compared to the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 which is much better than this screen-friendly HP option, builds quality etc but is more expensive and can go out of your budget. If your blast with a 60 hz screen you can also look at the Hp Omen 144 hz, but it is very expensive. Only if the Refresh Rate was better than this !!! See Cheap Price: Amazon 3) ASUS TUF Gaming FX505DV ( The Best Laptop Right Now with RTX 2060 6GB , Ryzen 7-3750H , 16GB RAM , 512GB NVMe SSD , 120Hz Refresh Rate ,  IPS-level Panel 45% NTSC )
Tumblr media
ASUS TUF Gaming FX505DV The market has great potential by introducing new beast laptops every month, going out with older ones as soon as possible. This laptop from ASUS will blow your mind with great features at this price. The bottom line is that Asus as a laptop manufacturer has taken the Indian market by storm and laptops are a real beast. Let's talk about some of them. 1) It comes with an RTX 2060 6GB Graphics card at this low price, which you probably won't find on another laptop in this price list. 2) Comes with storage expansion options and RGB ofcourse. 3) Works well with most AAA games, as you would expect with an RTX 2060 6GB. Note that the trackpad is very large and very smooth. 4) You will love the solid quality built. 5) One pin that the Ryzen 7-3750H, will bottle RTX 2060 6GB. See Cheap Price: Amazon 4) HP Pavilion Gaming ( Ryzen 5-4600H , 512GB SSD , 8GB RAM , 144Hz , 1650ti 4GB , IPS display )
Tumblr media
HP Pavilion Gaming Although it is 1650ti and not 1660ti, I agree but this is what we have now from HP in this price range. I hope they will introduce a different 1660ti soon. 1) The best thing about this laptop is that you get a Ryzen 5 with a 144Hz refresh rate on a portable computer for less than 80k. 2) I would say that thermals are better compared to playing Dell G5 and a few other laptops, these HP games have increased air flow and a larger operating area down just before. 3) It has 6 cores of power processing, integrated with 8GB DDR4 RAM, which can be expanded up to 16GB. 4) Everything on this laptop offers stiff competition in our choice of ASUS above considering the huge price difference and other good features you may not find on other laptops. See Cheap Price: Amazon 5) Lenovo Legion Y540 ( i5 9th Gen , 8GB RAM , 1TB SSD , 6GB GTX 1660 Ti , 144Hz , IPS Panel )
Tumblr media
Lenovo Legion Y540 Another great thing out there, which is not a lot of laptops can compete with! 1) With a 1 TB SSD, you can expect some faster start times with all the best operating systems. This laptop has an amazing design. 2) The problem with this laptop is that it can overheat and the battery drains quickly with a strong stream. So remember that. The 3) 144 Hz upgrade and GTX 1660Ti (6GB) are two things that keep this laptop in the gaming laptop race on our list for less than 90k at the moment. Read also: Laptop Purchase Guide: How Can You Choose the Right Laptop? 4) Powered by Dolby Atmos speakers and reusable keyboard, I mean most people use good gaming headphones and never need built-in laptop speakers. But you still have it here. See Cheap Price: Amazon 6)  Acer Nitro 7 (1660 Ti , 8GB RAM ,  9th Gen Core i5 , 1TB SSD , 144 Hz , IPS display 72% NTSC )
Tumblr media
Acer Nitro 7 Also the highlight features of GTX 1660 Ti 6 GB Graphics and 144 Hz refresh rate. Although the 9th Gen Core i5 may be bottlenecks. Few temperature problems. Well this laptop has odd numbers and has a higher value than our picks above, which is why it is number 5 on our list. As you can see the 144 hz screen and 1660 Ti graphic card, that is already a game made in heaven for many players. Here we have a 1 TB SSD and as in our Lenovo Legion Y540 pick above, deeper if you are a lover of SSD than this is the way to go. This really does make boot ups and all programs faster. Read also: Best Gaming Headphones Under Rs. 5,000 in India This laptop is said to look good with a metal lid and the perfect quality of construction is decent, depending on your expectations. IPS shows 72% better NTSC compared to many others on the list. Few things like battery capacity, thermals can be upgraded. But that can be true of all other laptops. See Cheap Price: Amazon 7)  ASUS TUF Gaming A15 ( Ryzen 5 4600H , 144Hz , 1650Ti 4GB Graphics , 8GB RAM , 1TB HDD + 256GB NVMe SSD ,  IPS-level Panel 45% NTSC)
Tumblr media
ASUS TUF Gaming A15 The combo for this season is 1650Ti 4GB Graphics and 144Hz band rate. By that means this is our second choice of ASUS TUF on the list, some people may say it is an expensive laptop. Probably so, prices are always volatile. Another unique feature of this laptop is the 1TB HDD + 256GB NVMe SSD combination, while the SSD provides sufficient speed for applications that require faster processing. HDD gives you enough flexibility for file storage. Ryzen 5 4600H, still rigid. Some people find it much better than the i7 on the benches. Keyboard lights are great with RGB elements. All in all, I would say it is a decent choice for this price point. See Cheap Price: Amazon 8)  Asus ROG Strix G  ( GTX 1650 4GB , 16 GB RAM , 512 GB SSD , 120 Hz Refresh Rate , LED Display )
Tumblr media
Asus ROG Strix G You might be thinking that this laptop should be way above in the list and maybe you are right! You might think this laptop should be at the top of the list and maybe that's right! But one sad note is that this laptop comes with an LED display and not a single IPS, let me tell you that the IPS display has better color and viewing angles. While the refresh rate is 120 hz, which sounds good but is not the same as the one chosen above our 144 hz above. Mainly from Lenovo and HP. Some would argue that while the GTX 1650 4GB is large, it is still lower than our 1660ti and 1650ti options. One unique thing is that this laptop comes with 16 GB RAM which you don't see in most of the above options. So if you are thinking of the ASUS ROG, this might be for you. See Cheap Price: Amazon 9) MSI Alpha 15 (AMD R7-3750H , 16GB RAM , RX5500M GDDR6 4GB , 1TB + 256 SSD ,  120Hz IPS-Level )
Tumblr media
MSI Alpha 15 We know that MSI support has not been high in India, but if you are still looking for a pick from MSI in this price range. And then now this is it. This comes with AMD R7-3750H and 120 Hz screen refresh rate. Now you can imagine that 120 Hz sounds close to 144 Hz and there shouldn't be much difference. But there is a real difference, 144 Hz at another level. This laptop has high build quality and is designed to be very fun, with good keys and strong sound quality. You can be sure the performance of the RX5500M GDDR6 4GB + AMD R7-3750H has enough power in most of your AAA games. The MI dragon center works like a charm, the thermals are also beautiful. It also comes with an Ethernet system that can get you better internet speed. See Cheap Price: Amazon 10) ASUS TUF Gaming (FX505DT) Laptop: ( 120Hz , Ryzen 5-3550H , 8GB RAM , 1TB HDD + 256GB PCIe SSD , IPS-level Panel 45% NTSC )
Tumblr media
ASUS TUF Gaming (FX505DT) Laptop One of the lowest price options on the list with decent features. The CPU model is the AMD Ryzen 5-3550H with a core speed of 2.1 GHz to 3.7 GHz. The speakers are down, so you may not enjoy the sound without the headphones. RGB background light keyboard with bright ‘WASD’ keys. It has 8 GB of DDR4 RAM with a bus speed of 2400 MHz This laptop is made of plastic material, which also helps to keep it lightweight and easy to carry. Read also: Top laptops for less than Rs 40,000 in India Additionally, this one has 1 TB of HDD and 256 GB of SSD storage space. The display of this monitor comes with a refresh rate of 120Hz. You can find fans sounding great at times, even though thermals can only be considered central. The trackpad can be upgraded. On top of this, you will receive an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 GDDR5 (4GB VRAM) graphics card. Which is better for this price. See Cheap Price: Amazon I have down around 48 hours of research on various forums , searched through 50 plus laptops and picked these 10 gems with amazing features for today July 2020. As you know newer models might come out tomorrow and these models may get outdated pretty quick. My suggestion is go from top to bottom of this list and think deeply which laptop or brand are comfortable with most.
Does Color Accuracy Matter?
I would say only if your doing professional work of color editing , working at a CGI studio. Otherwise not much , in this budget these are best picks one can get for now. If your coming from a potato laptop then you will find huge positive change in these latest laptops. I will recommend buying an addition monitor for deep professional work. Good Luck! Your fave formerly Sick Kid is in the hospital for DKA!!
:readmore:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sooo, after my blood sugars being very high for about 24 hours on end (the lowest number was 288 mg/dL, the highest was 504; most of them were in the 350s [‘normal’ is 80-120 mg/dL]), I called my dad, who brought me one of my twin’s insulin pens (mine were kinda expired), and tried valiently to throw up, for like.... 4 hours on end. Eventually nurse lines told us we— and by we I mean I— should go to the ER. So I went, accompanied by my dad and partner, who soon had to leave because no visitors because Covid. My twin and my mom have also been helpful, and on a group text— there in spirit.
As of right now, I don’t have Covid, they’re thinking it’s a “general infection”, and I’m about to be moved to a non-ER room.
Also, I know no one thought DKA was a fun time, but this potassium infusion is a real ache in the arm, literally.
But. Regardless. I’m going to be okay and come home as soon as my body gets its shit together. And Nicole and I are both taking tomorrow (really, today) off work because oh my god. I just have to try to keep sleeping first and not worry too much.

The second photo is of a pink left hand, with the 4 fingers tucked in, and the thumb is closest to the camera. The background is beige hospital floor and a green printed hospital gown. There is a needle sticking out of the person’s hand at a 45° angle, and it’s secured to their hand with tape and tegaderm. End ID]

Air Conditioning Booster

Abstract
The study trying to utilize and allows to harness the natural and free solar energy gotten from the sun by converting the additional free enthalpy gotten as thermal and kinetic energy likewise into useful power; on other words the main concern is increasing the COP.
This type of AC will use as much solar energy as is available and convert the solar energy directly to replace the equivalent amount of AC power from the mains provider. Under optimum conditions, this can save up to 25% – 45 % of your mains power usage during the summer.
This will be most recent innovation in standalone power saving which is partially free of charge by the Sun.
The study aims to renovate the traditional refrigeration system which is normally known as compression refrigeration cycle everywhere in our buildings, so that it can be developed to take advantage of the free solar energy without complicated changes neither a completely demolishing.
Keywords: HVAC; Solar radiation; R 134a; Thermodynamics; Momentum
Introduction
Jordan is among of the most enthusiastic developing country to promote utilization of renewable energy, as very well known the solar radiation in Jordan average within 4500 Wh/m2 to8000 Wh/ m2.
More than 300 sunny days in Jordan driving us to think more seriously in renewable energy resources and somehow reduce dependence on oil consumption.
Basic thermodynamics statement that as a greater temperature difference between substances the faster heat flow, so once the refrigerant gas temperature increased then a heat rejection is higher; same what happened when the ambient temperature increases, less heat can be rejected from the air-cooled condenser to the hotter ambient.
Adding an extra heat to the cycle in order to increase ΔT between condenser and surrounding environment. Not quite, but the future will be for renewable energy, however the first step should be renovating the transition phase of the hybridized types by paving the way for the renewable sources, as there is no doubt that renewable energy does not match in any way the traditional energy that we are accustomed to in term of cost neither the required efficiency.
Methodology
Heat transferee calculations:
a) Qh = mh x Cph (Thou t-Thin) Versus b) Qc = mc x Cpc (Tc out-T c in)
Equation a here represent water system versus equation b for refrigeration cycle.
Where Q = heat energy (Joules, J) m = mass of a substance (kg) c = specific heat (unit’s J/kg∙K) Δt is a symbol meaning “the change in” temperatures
Tcout = Outlet refrigeration temperature from heat exchanger.
Tcin = Inlet refrigeration temperature from heat exchanger.
Thin = Water Inlet temperature from the solar collector to heat exchanger.
Mpemba Effect on the Refrigeration Cycle
The basic advantage is a quicker phase change from gas to liquid leading to a better sub cooling and that to less flash gas then more cooling capacity at the evaporator and with the control of the unit then to the original cooling capacity at the evaporator but with less compressor work. All the known formulas in thermodynamics can’t explain, because there is really none for the phase change except the amount of heat transferred at phase change.
We gain here 15 KW using our selected heat exchanger); Now a gas coming from a higher temperature has a much higher kinetic energy of the molecules and they kick much more into them as a result they can develop much quicker the interconnecting Vander Waals forces and as a result they liquefy quicker. Since the gas gets quicker liquid, the remaining way in the condenser is used to cool down the fully liquid further.
Where a & b are dimensions to be experimentally found. p = pressure, n= number of moles, T = temperature, V = volume and R = universal gas constant. Hence Its value will be nearby to general gas equation the given gas is at low pressure and high temperature.
PV = nRT; V = As x L, as the selected exchanger is 0.311m height,
P @ 90 C = 10 bar = 9.9 atm; V= 0.5 m3
R = 0.082 lt. atm /deg.k.mole
10 x 0.5= n x 0.082x 363
So n= 0.2
However as very known from
P1V = n1RT …; P2V = n2RT … Considering the volume is constant (Isochoric) as the heat exchanger is a small closed tank so: P2 X 0.5= 0.2 x 0.082 x 363 k ; So P2 =12 bar
Discussions and Ideas
Based on the below equations and numbers, a rapidly increasing in momentum during of heating the refrigerant gas R 134a:
As an estimation each pressure drop in heat exchanger 4m/ 100m and we have a 10 meters pipes so we have a 0.4 bar =4079 kgf/m2 (kg per sq. meter); let us multiply the factors as below:
0.2 kg/s (refrigerant flow rate) x 4079 kg/m2 x 0.02 m3/kg (specific volume @ 40 c & 2 bar) = 16 kg.m/s
This unit is a momentum, so let us try to get the momentum @ 90 c & 10 bar:
0.2 kg/s (refrigerant flow rate) x 4079 kg/m2 x 0.3m3/kg (specific volume @ 90 c & 10 bar) = 245 kg.m/s.
This is mean each change in momentum is a new specific impulse on other words this is producing a thrust force which is also a gain for the cycle.
Conclusion
• The system clearly shows that COP is increased from 4.3 to 5.5, by converting solar thermal energy to sub cooling additional for the refrigeration cycle.
• The system adds more 2 bars to the refrigeration cycle consequently increasing in the entropy as mean a quicker phase change due to quicker set-up of intermolecular bindings because of v Van der Waals forces yielding additional sub-cooling.
• The most important is we don’t have to increase condenser surface. It is very well capable to remove the additional heat, the Formula Q = alpha X surface x delta T. Alpha is heat transfer coefficient and does not change, If Delta T increases due to higher temperature of the refrigerant entering the condenser, the condenser just transfers more heat. The environment as the heat absorbing media is capable of taking up that additional heat. For more explanation, let say what happened with radiators: if you flush water with a temperature of 45 °C through the radiator, it does not provide that much heat as if you flush water through with a temperature of 90 °C so the radiator is capable of doing the job.
Basically W (KJ/Kg) = ∫p*dv, however the dv in heat exchanger considered zero by other words it’s an Isochoric Work When V is held constant and P changes W = 0 Because gas is not doing any work but as surrounding adds energy to internal energy of gas That’s why Cp is always greater than Cv Specific heat capacity at constant pressure is always greater than Specific heat capacity at constant volume, now once the gas goes through the condenser a quicker phase change occurred there cause When gas expands it has to do work to push environment to create space for its expansion by spending energy from its internal energy that’s why suddenly Gas cools down.
Addendum
Data Analysis
The below study shows if reduce refrigerant up to certain limit could be useful for COP, however should we not reach to the maximum temperature of 120 c which is the critical temperature, however power consumption is reduced accordingly (Table 1).
The below are a figure out and illustrations using Mollier diagrams which is a very common for systems with fixed compressor speed = fixed mass flow. DC Inverter units with variable mass flows and many changes in circuit offer wide range of mollier diagrams will be a high improvement for the proposed system .

🔮 THE STORY 🔮
Sci-fi is like dream, aside from stories in this classification utilize logical arrangement to explain the universe that it requires place in. It for the most part incorporates or is focused on the assumed impacts or repercussions of PCs or machines; travel through space, time or imaginary worlds; outsider living things; hereditary designing; or other such things. The science or innovation utilized may or probably won’t be completely explained on; stories whose logical components are sensibly point by point, well-informed and viewed as generally conceivable given current information and innovation are regularly known as hard sci-fi. Writing that objectives posses, criminal associations that give a degree of association, and assets that help a lot bigger and more specialized criminal exchanges than an individual criminal could accomplish. Criminals will be the subject of a few motion pictures, especially from the period somewhere in the range of 1930 and 1960. A restoration of criminal sort films happened since the 1990s with the blast of hip-jump culture. Dissimilar to the sooner hoodlum films, the more current movies share comparative components to the more established movies yet is more in a hip-bounce metropolitan setting. An experience story is around a hero who excursions to epic or removed spots to perform something. It could have a considerable number of other classification factors included inside it, since it is an open type. The hero incorporates a mission and faces hindrances to get to their objective. Additionally, experience stories as a rule incorporate obscure settings and characters with valued properties or highlights.
At first proposed as a classification by the makers of the pretending game Children of daylight, dieselpunk alludes to fiction propelled by mid-century mash stories, predicated on the style of the interbellum period through World War II (c. 1920–45). Like steampunk however especially observed as a the ascent of oil power and technocratic discernment, fusing neo-noir factors and sharing subjects more clearly with cyberpunk than steampunk. Despite the fact that the striking quality of dieselpunk as a classification isn’t totally uncontested, portions which range from the retro-advanced film Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow to the 2001 Activision computer game Return to Castle Wolfenstein have been recommended as quintessential dieselpunk works of fiction. A style when an entertainer acts before a live crowd, talking straightforwardly to them. 🔮 COPYRIGHT CONTENT 🔮
Copyright is a type of intellectual property that gives its owner the exclusive right to make copies of a creative work, usually for a limited time.[1][2][3][4][5] The creative work may be in a literary, artistic, educational, or musical form. Copyright is intended to protect the original expression of an idea in the form of a creative work, but not the idea itsDemon Slayer the Movie: Mugen Train.[6][7][8] A copyright is subject to limitations based on public interest considerations, such as the fair use doctrine in the United States.
Some jurisdictions require “fixing” copyrighted works in a tangible form. It is often shared among multiple authors, each of whom holds a set of rights to use or license the work, and who are commonly referred to as rights holders.[citation needed][9][10][11][12] These rights frequently include reproduction, control over derivative works, distribution, public performance, and moral rights such as attribution.[13]
Copyrights can be granted by public law and are in that case considered “territorial rights”. This means that copyrights granted by the law of a certain state, do not extend beyond the territory of that specific jurisdiction. Copyrights of this type vary by country; many countries, and sometimes a large group of countries, have made agreements with other countries on procedures applicable when works “cross” national borders or national rights are inconsistent.[14]
Typically, the public law duration of a copyright expires 50 to 100 years after the creator dies, depending on the jurisdiction. Some countries require certain copyright formalities[5] to establishing copyright, others recognize copyright in any completed work, without a formal registration.
It is widely believed that copyrights are a must to foster cultural diversity and creativity. However, Parc argues that contrary to prevailing beliefs, imitation and copying do not restrict cultural creativity or diversity but in fact support them further. This argument has been supported by many examples such as Millet and Van Gogh, Picasso, Manet, and Monet, etc.[15]
🔮 ADAPTATION 🔮
Sarah Paulson is my top choice, yet this film isn’t her best. I trusted that months for this will come out and I’m left asking why I was so energized. The trailer parted with everything. You knew the entire story before it even began. There was practically zero character improvement and everything just felt like it was 0–100 with no pacing at all. Likewise, the cosmetics office for Sarah’s last look-the hellfire would you say you were folks on when you thought of this? I really snickered when I saw her. It was an alright film. One that you’d be pissed on the off chance that you burned through cash on. Nothing new, normal, worn out acting. Additionally, no one realizes the proper behavior an asthma assault. This film had so many plot openings that it seemed like a parody. The mother can simply take an infant from the clinic? She harms her little girl for quite a long time and no specialist actually sees this during her regular visits? How did she manage the postal carrier’s vehicle? No one minded the postal carrier was absent? For what reason did the girl never get one of the numerous sharp or gruff articles around her and hit her mother? The mother leaves all her significant reports in a container sitting out and marked? For what reason would she tie up her girl’s wheel seat and not her girl? This is the means by which the entire film goes. The main redeemable nature of the film was Sarah Paulson’s very frightening acting. Likewise, this story has been done so often. I would not burn through my time watching this. Run is unsurprising and not extraordinary. The acting is phenomenal, while the story is fair. The story makes a magnificent showing of being exciting, yet it chiefly doesn’t go anyplace. I knew all that planned to happen despite the fact that I knew nothing. Nonetheless, There was one scene I appreciated where Clare says, “you need me.” The acting was only exceptional in that particular scene. In general, it’s a one time watch that you’ll most likely fail to remember. This is another film on Hulu by Aneesh Chaganty (and co-composed by Sev Ohanian), following up their realistic presentation Searching (2018) with a spine chiller including a mother and her 17-year-old little girl brought into the world with a few confusions (arrhythmia, hemochromatosis, asthma, diabetes, and most effectively loss of motion).
I will say that it’s conceivable this film is superior to I preferred it, yet in the event that so it would be for its coordinating and acting, and less so about the composition. I felt like there were openings all over the place, and maybe an excess of is tossed at us too early for us to appropriately think about the characters and their circumstance. This sort of film has been done previously, absent a lot of new added to the table short the wheelchair perspective. There were a ton of components set up for what might have given a more grounded finishing conveyance and punch, yet the greater part of those beats were one-note and spent prior in the film as opposed to associating a solid inward weaving as Searching had the option to do. I went in visually impaired, and it’s possible better that I did given that the trailer is fairly uncovering. I don’t think it had a sufficiently high roof in any case to overshadow any wild absence of desires I previously had. My solitary desire was in the possession of the makers, and the most saving grace this film will probably have on crowds is I expectation they become mindful of Searching and see it sooner or later… which is the thing that I expectation the greater part of all of you can detract from this. That was my #1 film of 2018, and Run will tumble to the wayside as fairly convincing yet totally forgettable. The story and pre-assembled relationship just needed more squeeze once the credits rolled. This film was average, best case scenario. Try not to accept individuals giving it 8 or 9. The plot has been seen ordinarily, it was excessively unreasonable, and the closure failed. They attempted to showcase it as a loathsomeness/spine chiller however nothing about it is exciting. It’s a dramatization completely. I will say however, the entertainers did astounding with what they were given. Sarah Paulson was her standard sDemon Slayer the Movie: Mugen Train, great, not honor commendable. Be that as it may, Kiera Allen truly captured everyone’s attention. She made the film (which delayed for what seemed like 2 hours) watchable. In the event that you appreciated The Act or have nothing else to watch, give it a go. What’s the point of messing with this poop. It resembles a low lease endeavor at a spine chiller yet you definitely know the closure. The faltering endeavors at tension are more irritating than anything. It’s a terrible lifetime film to be straightforward. Furthermore, I like lifetime motion pictures! It’s additionally excessively coordinated, the music is exhausted and the acting isn’t incredible.

How popular is MadaSaku in context of other Madara’s and Sakura’s ships? Part 1
@madasakuweek
For MadaSaku Weekend, in addition to fics, I wanted to make something different, something that always interested me. Wait for it, wait for it… statistics!! Ok, I know that this post has just lost 90% of readers this very second. Lol.
I’m not a popular author, but even I tend to get messages “why do you write madasaku, no one wants to read it anyway”. Organizing this event was a huge effort from the side of @purple-possibilities (thank you for that!!) and spurred me to look into the question just how popular MadaSaku really is?
I will break down this analysis into 3 parts: AO3 (coming today), ffnet, and an attempt on counting the real number of MadaSaku works (not so trivial).
I decided to write it in a really scientific (i.e. stiff, boring and indigestible for most) style in order to describe all my steps as accurately as possible. Every method of analysis has its limitations, biases and certain number of false positives and negatives that it generates. But I aim to describe everything precisely and point out all the weak points. This analysis was done as objectively as possible, and if there are any inaccuracies, I am more than happy to correct them.
With this preamble, let’s dive in!
Let’s start with AO3, because it is supposed to be easier thanks to the tagging system. The key word is, unfortunately, “supposed to”, because since I cannot write data-scraping scripts, I had to approach the problem manually.
The section below contains a detailed description of methods used. If you’re not interested in technical details, skip to Results.
Methods
After choosing a character, a menu appears on the righthand side of the page that allows the user to choose ratings, categories, etc. The same menu allows to see which relationships appear most frequently in the context of the chosen character (example shown in Figure 1.)
Tumblr media
Attention: This menu doesn’t provide with neither Top Ten most popular ship for a given character nor with actual number of any of the ships listed, because:
a) Many ships listed in the menu involve platonic pairings (“&” relationships according to AO3 nomenclature) and while one can argue whether those are ships or not, the aim of this analysis was to find the prevalence of romantic ships.
b) Many ships listed involve characters different than the character of interest. For example: Senju Hashirama/Uzumaki Mito is the third most popular pairing written in the fics that contain Uchiha Madara as a character.
c)  Not every author tags character in question when tagging him/her as part of a ship. For example: Senju Tobirama/Uchiha Madara features in the above menu with 1173 fics (at the moment of writing this text). When the ship “Senju Tobirama/Uchiha Madara” is chosen through clicking into the tag, AO3 provides us with 1250 fic. I.e. in case of 77 MadaTobi fics, Uchiha Madara was not tagged as a character. Therefore, to obtain the real numbers of fics for any given pairing, one has to always click directly into ship tag.
The ships listed in the righthand menu can nevertheless provide orientation and hints about which ships should be inspected manually in order to get true number of fics for a given ship.
In case of Uchiha Madara the menu features only three romantic ships involving Madara, namely:
Senju Tobirama/Uchiha Madara
Senju Hashirama/Uchiha Madara
Haruno Sakura/Uchiha Madara
How to find out more ships featuring Madara?
I tried two approaches:
Method 1
I excluded one relationship from the list of ten most popular and iterated the search excluding the first most popular relationship only, the second most popular relationship only, and so on, together 10 searches.
During every search I noted the “new” romantic relationships involving Madara that popped up in the list.
In the second step, I excluded 2 most popular relationships simultaneously and again, searched all possible combinations, together 45 searches because it is combination without repetitions:
Tumblr media
Again, during every search I noted the “new” romantic relationships involving Madara that popped up in the list.
When excluding 3 relationships I would need to perform 120 searches to cover all combinations. Therefore, I limited myself with searches: excluding 1st, 2nd and 3rd ship; excluding 1st, 2nd and 4th ship; excluding 1st, 2nd and 5th ship; etc.
All things taken together, this method proved to be very laborious, and didn’t bring expected results, i.e. “new” romantic relationships were showing up very rarely in relation to the workload.
Therefore, a different method was employed:
Method 2
I excluded increasing number of ships from the list of ten most popular relationships. I.e. I excluded 1st most popular ship and checked for appearance of “new” ships. Then I excluded first two most popular relationships (1st and 2nd) and checked for “new” ships, then excluded 1st, 2nd and 3rd most popular ships etc…
This method proved to be both efficient (i.e. new ships appear relatively quickly in respect to the workload) and much less error-prone.
This was therefore the method of choice for this analysis.
Figure 2. illustrates an example where the most popular ship (Senju Tobirama/Uchiha Madara) was excluded (Figure 2.a.) and a new ship (Uchiha Izuna/Uchiha Madara) appeared during the search. (Figure 2.b.)
Tumblr media
Table 1 summarizes the romantic ships of Uchiha Madara found using Method 2. Data was collected on 22.10.2019. 40 most popular relationships written in context of Uchiha Madara were excluded sequentially, and new ships were noted in order of their appearance. The searches that didn’t brought any new romantic ship involving Uchiha Madara were omitted from Table 1. (for example: excluding 1st and 2nd most popular relationships didn’t bring any new romantic ship for Madara, therefore this search was not listed in the Table 1.).
Tumblr media
Disclaimer: the order of appearance in Table 1. doesn’t necessarily reflect the ship’s popularity. Because of the fact that the list is composed using ‘exclude’ filter, the order of appearance is heavily influenced by which pairings are written together with which other pairing (as AO3 allows tagging multiple ships in one fic).
The list of ships in Table 1. was used to obtain final, numerical results for popularity of the ships of Uchiha Madara (see: Results).
Additionally, I manually checked popularity of several other Madara’s ships, and two of them (with Pein and with Kakuzu) ended up scoring high enough to be included in final results.
Same approach was used to find most popular ships of Haruno Sakura.
Sakura’s righthand menu lists 5 romantic ship involving Sakura herself, namely:
Haruno Sakura/Uchiha Sasuke
Haruno Sakura/Hatake Kakashi
Haruno Sakura/Uzumaki Naruto
Haruno Sakura/Yamanaka Ino
Haruno Sakura/Uchiha Itachi
To find further ships for Haruno Sakura I employed Method 2 as described above. Table 2 summarizes the results.
Tumblr media
Additionally, other ships of Sakura where manually examined, and ships with Senju Tobirama and Uchiha Obito scored high enough to be included in final results.
Limitations of the used method
The employed method of searching for popular ship has its limitations. Due to the mechanism of finding the ships to check for popularity (usage of ‘exclude filter’) it cannot be excluded that certain ships have been overlooked. Four such cases were actually detected through manual checks: Method 2 failed to show Madara/Pein and Madara/Kakuzu as ships qualified for checking for actual fic number, but when those ships were checked, their respective fic number was high enough to earn them 14th and 17th places among Madara’s most popular ships (see: Results). Haruno Sakura/Senju Tobirama and Haruno Sakura/Uchiha Obito scored high enough to be Sakura’s 20th and 21st most popular ship even though neither was detected via Method 2. This is entirely possible that certain other ships remained ‘undetected’ and therefore not included in the final results, but the risk of non-detection concerns mostly the less-prominent ships.
Due to AO3 tagging system, if a ship is tagged as “background” or “past” it will also be detected, and not differentiated from proper shipping fics. Possibility of tagging multiple ships in one fic causes collections of multishipping fics to be counted multiple times (which skews the numbers when percentages are concerned - see Figures 5 and 6). From this perspective, the relatively meager tagging system of fanfiction.net brings cleaner results.
Results
Numerical values of fic numbers for every given ship were collected on 26.12.2019.
Romantic ships of Uchiha Madara are shown in Figure 3.

Romantic ships of Haruno Sakura are shown in Figure 4.

Discussion
Sakura is the third most popular Madara’s ship partner, and his most popular F/M ship, however it lags far behind the more popular “Founders Cluster” ships. Sakura is by far most popular F/M ship of Madara, next being OFC with 54 fic and Mito with 34 fics.
Madara’s fics are very focused on ships with few partners (Tobirama, Hashirama and Sakura), to the extend that various “exotic” ships rank high enough to appear in this breakdown (OC with 101 fics, OFC with 54, Reader with 41 and Harry Potter (LOL) with 10 fics).
Madara is Sakura’s eighth most popular ship partner (or seventh if you don’t count the polyship Sakura/Sasuke/Naruto as both Sasuke and Naruto feature already on the list as separate ship partners). One has to take into account that Madara appeared on-panel in February 2008 (i.e. almost 9 years after Naruto started publishing) and in person in the story in October 2011 (12 years after start of publishing). Nevertheless, MadaSaku accumulated more fics than many characters with much longer on-panel time, and that even though Madara is considered villain of the story.
When one takes under consideration the total number of Uchiha Madara fics (3913 at the point of writing this text) and Haruno Sakura (13397) it turns that MadaSaku fics form 5,3% of all Madara’s fics and 1,6% of all Sakura’s fics (Figures 5. and 6.).
It is surprising that Sakura, being famously (and infamously) shippable character, has as much as almost 40% of fics where she is not part of a romantic pair. Such high percentage of “other fics” may also mean that she is part of great number of very rare ships that were not investigated in this analysis (the analysis was stopped after excluding 40 most popular ships).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Outlook
Employing a direct data-scraping script would eliminate risks of non-detecting of certain ships. Such script would potentially also allow to examine ship’s popularity development over time.
Since this analysis was done before MadaSaku Weekend, it will be interesting to re-examine the data some time after the event to see if our participation influenced the popularity of the ship.
OK, so who managed to the end??? No one? So I thought, lol
