Favorite Things: Brewing Love
This show had so much to love about it! A unique male lead that is empathetic to a fault. An independent bad ass for a female lead. Complex characters that grow and learn to treat themselves better. The pretties male cast in a Kdrama. Some HILARIOUS bromance. Brewing Love was a great mix of quirky comedy, sweet romance, lots of cute, and a bit of heartbreak.

Here are some of the posts about the series that we've loved (spoilers ahead):
Just like @ofredribbonsandpreciousgems, we found empathy to be an interesting character trait for the male lead. They did a great job of creating a unique character and story centered around this.
The scene at the funeral where Min Ju cries and breaks the dam Young Ju was using to hold back her own tears was so devastatingly beautiful and well done. Here's screen shots posted by @factorygirlsstuff
This edit of the funeral scene by @i-got-the-feels is 😍! So many feels!!!
Enjoyed this post by @kangsongpyeon with thoughts on the early characters. It's fun looking back at the beginning of the show because the characters grow so much. Really well done story.
Min Ju was so real in this moment... thanks @ryoun
The male cast in this show was ridiculously pretty. We couldn't make it through a single episode without saying it out loud at least once.
The fascial expressions, drunk pouting and bromance jokes were epic in this show. We loved them so much! This was just a few that we couldn't get over, but we could have made a post like this for every episode!
We agree with @dramatictrajectory 😍 The bromance was seriously bromancing. These two were EPIC! The writers were hilarious. We are fans.
This entire scene, the words, the tears. Killed us. They declared a truce 😭
What did you think about Brewing Love???

Dr. Romantic: The Way to a Dream Come True
Tumblr media
Dr. Romantic is made up of three seasons with a lapse of 4 years between the Season 1 and Season 2 and a 3 years lapse between Season 2 and 3. The first season we are introduced to the regular Doldam Hospital and new arrivals: Kang Dong Joo and Yoon Seo Jung. Master Kim helps these two young doctors and his regular staff to sharpen their skills and find realize their dreams. We see their growth as professionals and as human beings, while healing people and fighting to keep the hospital open. This first season ends with Kang Dong Joo and Yoon Seo Jung heading to new challenges but leaving a hope for their return.
Second season, Master Kim and his regular staff are still healing people while fighting to maintain the hospital running. We are introduced to three new doctors: Cha Eun Jae, Seo Woo Jin, and Yoon Ah Reum. In this case we have doctors returning and a doctor from a capital hospital, Park MinGuk becomes Holdam Hospital director as part of Chairman Do's attempt to take Master Kim down. But at the end we leave the hospital with a secure standing (no one can touch the property) and Dr. Park decides to partner with Master Kim and work together towards making Master Kim's dream come true - have a trauma center in the hospital.
Season 3 seems to be the conclusion to his story. Now they have the trauma center building connected to the old part of the hospital and they are about to open, but they need government funding to help run the center since this is a non-profit hospital. The staff is divided into two areas and those working at the trauma center will need to deal with their new director. Master Kim's Plan B - Dr. Cha Jin Man, who is also Dr. Cha Eun Jae's father and later Plan A - Kang Dong Joo.
I must admit that I was so excited to see Kang Dong Joo back and to see that Yoo Seo Jung returned, along other doctors that were part of the staff in the previous two seasons. It is satisfying to see Master Kim's dream come true: have the trauma center ran by his students.
You would've thought that he would want to run the center - after all, it was his dream - but he decided to stay in the old part of the hospital and have the another person run the trauma center. I loved the love stories and the new young characters. It was a really sweet way to bring this story to an end.
This story is one of my favorites on the doctors-drama category. A most watch, the three of them. I would watch them back to back, that way I would catch on things I probably missed since I saw them when they came out and time has past between each viewing.

Brewing Love
South Korean - Romcom
youtube
Staring: Kim Se Jeong & Lee Jong Won
Chae Yong Ju is a former special forces baddy that puts her all into everything she does, especially when it comes to helping others. So when her branch of the brewing company faces closure, she will do what ever it takes to recruit brew master Yun Min Ju. But she has her work cut out for her if she wants to win over Yun Min Ju, an empathetic introvert that lives a quiet, rural life to avoid becoming overwhelmed by the emotions of others.
This show was brilliant. Who would have thought we would love a story structured around brewing beer?!? But when a story is well written with great characters and plot, it was impossible not to get sucked in. It had a surprising amount of depth and great character growth. Plus, it was funny and ridiculously cute and sweet. We definitely loved this series and think you will too.
Ending: Our favorite, sweet and happy
Tears: Quite a bit of sadness throughout the show.
Main Couple: Straight
Side Couple: Official side couple is straight, but there are some hilarious bromance moments and a hint of an established lesbian couple that we greatly enjoyed
Romance Scenes: ridiculously sweet
Flavor of Scenes: vanilla
Heads up: toxic parenting, dead parent, death, attempted suicide, combat PTSD
Tumblr media
These two ladies had us rolling. We want to be them when we grow up!

Kendisine en net The Beauty Inside dizisinden aşinayım.  İkisinin de ayrı ayrı trajik hikayeleri arka planda ilerlerken küçük hastanenin hastaları, hastane içinde olan olaylar diziyi götürüyordu. Doktor dizilerinde her bölüm tanıştığımız hastalar asıl hikayeyi şekillendiriyor.

It is so wild to see the revival of the Namsoon/Heungsoo feels among people, but it be caused by Saint/Shin and High School Frenemy, a show that I'm not watching and whose viewers maybe haven't watched the original. Like, if you were there for School 2013, you know how subtly yet intimately queer Namsoon and Heungsoo's story felt, and that too at a time when South Korea had yet to include actual queer characters in pretty much any shows! From what I can remember – it's been over a decade since I watched School 2013, so I may be misremembering – Namsoon and Heungsoo's friendship never seemed like it was written with queerness or the LGBTQIA+ community in mind (not in a homophobic way, though! Just the feeling I got back then). Like, these were just two high school guys whose platonic love toward each other was so intimate and heart-aching that their friendship seemed to transcend all of the dynamics that male friendships in Korean dramas hitherto had had, without ever seeming to be intentionally written as such.
These characters were played by two incredible actors who brought so much rawness and depth to their characters and the story, and throughout the show, Namsoon and Heungsoo's friendship seemed so... accepting? and gentle with its depiction of a close male friendship, yet it simultaneously felt so open to and understanding of possible interpretations of the more romantic kind. And seeing as how, even today, close male friendships easily end up as targets of the shipping culture, Namsoon and Heungsoo's friendship just seemed(/seems) so refreshing and almost ahead of its time in a way.
There is so much that I'd want to say about how significant Namsoon and Heungsoo's friendship felt to me in the K-drama landscape of the time, but, alas, my memories of the show and their story have become blurry with time and currently only exist within me as feelings of immense warmth and gratitude to the writers (Lee Hyun Joo and Go Jung Won) and the actors (Lee Jong Suk and Kim Woo Bin), and thus I can't fully express myself by actually providing concrete examples to justify my feels, or by giving proper references to that time of K-dramas and portrayals of friendships, same-sex friendships in particular. Anyway, I guess what I'm trying to say is, thank you to High School Frenemy for introducing the story of this friendship to a totally new audience in a totally new country and also an arguably much different drama landscape (here I'm referring specifically to the abundance of QL stories in Thailand).
TL;DR: I hope everyone new to the Namsoon/Heungsoo (Saint/Shin) story – assuming their dynamic is the same in this remake – is as insane about their arc as I was back in 2013, lmao. And to those who were there for School 2013 and are now watching High School Frenemy, how are you? Are you okay?
