Not to toot my own horn but I have carefully kept my senior dogs’ weights down this whole time so even though they are 10 and 11 (and one is missing a leg) they can still bounce and run when they feel like it. I mean granted they do sleep a lot lmaooooo but like I said—“when they feel like it.” Their new vet here in New Jersey said they are “remarkable” for how active and mobile they are. Absolutely no issues with walking, running, jumping, or taking stairs up/down. Yes including the one with three legs.
#not to put my aunt on blast but her senior French bulldog is 11 too and she’s severely overweight and can’t take walks anymore#or get down the 3-4 steps from the patio down into the yard#part of that is just being a French bulldog which comes with a HOST of congenital issues#but being 40 pounds instead of 25-30 is NOT helping#she also has 1 bad leg but ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm so does my 3 legged poodle. bad as in gone. doesn’t exist. nothing there.#so if we’re looking at 2 dogs at abou the same age#with six good legs between them#and the skinny one can run jump even DANCE AROUND#but the way overweight dog has trouble even walking from her dog bed out the door to pee#like come on. what’s the major variable here.#my aunt barely even feeds kibble she just hand-feeds dog treats all day long and I wish I was kidding#like at least measure out everyone’s calorie requirements in weight-management kibble#and then hand feed that
