I'm a little late for WIP Wednesday but I haven't knit since Wednesday so it still counts right?

I have absolutely smashed this underarm portion of the back panel, on row 153/160 (95%!!!). However. My goal for the underarm length is 24 inches. And I'm currently at 22. T-T I will Increase My Total (168 will probably work but I'll report back when I have motivation)

I'm already looking ahead to the upper back portion, which will be about 64 rows based on my gauge. Plus a couple more rows for shoulder shaping.... I'm Actually on row 153 out of 238. 64% finished.

I'm usually a Process Knitter but this is very much a Product Knitter's project. I keep daydreaming about all the lace shawls I could be knitting (but never wear). But the Evil Pink Cardigan.... My precious...

As for why Wolf has purple eyes (in case anyone was wondering lol), his eyes actually used to be brown when he was younger, but he was experimented on and and augmented to adjust to living in space- including his eyes, so that's why they're purple bc they're cybernetics

(ahahaaaa john being difficult all day in one of his stubbornly independent moods, running his mouth and getting on gale's last nerve bc he's learned exactly what buttons to press to get the ever–patient man to snap. except even in his annoyance, gale knows exactly what john's doing so when they get home he lays back and puts his arms behind his head and tells john "go ahead baby, put your money where your mouth is if you wanna run it all day." doesn't lift a finger, makes john struggle to get his clothes out of the way, pretends to be bored and unaffected while he watches john fluster himself/get himself worked up without gale even touching him, has john do all the work of prepping the both of them, john continuing to run his mouth all the while, but it's hard to take him seriously when every other word ends on a whimper. gale lets himself relax and watches john wear himself out riding him until john's thighs start to shake from the effort and the constant stream of words quiets, and john's legs give out as he sinks down with a defeated whine of gale's name. he makes john ask nicely– "i thought you don't need my help with anything, doll, what happened?", coaxes a frustrated "i do gale, i'm sorry, can y'please just help me–" and cuts john off with a rock of his hips and a "since you asked so nicely." and john goes boneless on top of gale, folding in half to slump over his chest, face pressed to gale's neck gasping out the prettiest noises and "thank you"s while gale gives him what he's been needing all day xoxo)

POST THE DOUBKE PARALLELS PLSPLSPLS

HNGH OKAY SO,

First of all just some General Visual Parallels (ones that while I don't have any particular Thoughts or Deep Analysis on they're Neat :) (also they fit more into the overarching smoking trio parallels since Kazui has a matching one too) I'm sorry Kazui my blog is so biased orz)

Mfs when they hold the left side of their face while forcing out a pained smile (Although with Mikoto it's just his general lying/trying to brush off his own suffering while with Shidou we're looking at him at his most painfully honest) ((Also they both have phone calls in their songs which I think is Great))

Cool eye shots :) (Am I the only one who thinks Mikoto's eyes are very pretty :sob: ((Also now the entire smoking trio has one of these close up eye shots, I also love that Mikoto and Orekoto both get individual shots nobody gets left out (Ignoring the fact that they Disbanded)))

Okay but time for. My Actual Shitty Parallels Analysis bear with me guys here this is gonna get Messy,

Idk if I talked about this Before but Shidou and John (I'm sorry guys I Need to adjust to it I'm gonna call him John here) are both obviously extremely tied to their "purpose" of protecting people, specifically their loved ones (Shidou's Family/Mikoto). However they obviously go at it very Differently, John's method Is harmful (violence/killing) while Shidou's is supposed to be the complete Opposite (treating/healing).

There's also something interesting about their victims. I can't say for sure from Double if Multiple people were Actually murdered, but it seems to be portrayed that way by John at least; he and Shidou both portray themselves as having multiple victims, and they're also portrayed completely differently than their loved ones (Flowers/Tags, Mannequins, they're not entirely portrayed as people and have little to no identity, their lives were set aside to protect/save the ones they cared about)

(The environment in Shidou's MV is also very sterile and clean looking while John's is covered in blood. They're both surrounded by their representations of the lives they took)

From what we've seen this purpose is currently what basically makes or breaks their will/reason to live, these people are their entire worlds, if they can't even save the ones they care about they may as well have nothing, and what happened with that purpose of protecting?

Shidou's fails to protect/save his family and John fails to protect/save Mikoto, and their arcs with how they go Forward with this failure completely Kills Me

I fucking. Hrmghsdflbds these shots at the ends of their respective mvs are the shots that pretty much prompted this post. Shidou reaches out and, despite his failures, tries to push past his self-hatred and resolves to continue living and protecting others. Meanwhile, John closes in on himself with renewed self-hatred, and decides that it would be better off if he disappeared/went dormant.

Shidou and John's arcs are going in completely opposite directions and that Breaks my Fucking Heart Man oh my God get me Out of here Get Me Out (I hope these shots also helps articulate that parallel I tried to make earlier about the different ways they go at protecting people? Shidou puts on new white, clean gloves meanwhile John's hands are completely coated in blood and just. Man,).

i wanna get back to *most* of the writing projects I've dropped recently, but more than most i really can't stand that I've slacked off on that echo fanfiction... I really did like the characters I came up with for it and I'd love to get what I have in my head down in writing but there's still a big list of stuff to do before I start it up again. I definitely want to reread Echo at least, and I was hoping to have a few routes of the smoke room finished by now too for reference, but that bit definitely won't be going down any time soon. Doesn't even look like I'll be able to read George's loose cannon builds since they're seemingly only for pc atm. Ugh, I'm just gonna brute force my way back onto the writing desk eventually but it won't feel as clean lol
