It's interesting the blindspots that people can develop through too much information.
I'm not just talking about learning things and then not being able to imagine the perspective of someone who hasn't learned that, which I've seen a couple posts about.
I'm talking about this:
I have a popular post where I translated the Tiger Poem by Nael (age 6) into Classical Maya. In my English notes to the translation, I gloss the word 'Bahlam' as 'Tiger'. This is wrong, it means 'Jaguar'. Tigers don't exist in the Americas. But it actually took me a minute to figure out what was wrong when this was pointed out, and I'm still bemused when people tell each other the correct translation in the notes.
'Jaguar' is a Portuguese loan from the Old Tupi word 'Îagûara'. In Spanish Colonial dictionaries, it's not the word that gets used to translate 'Bahlam.' It was just another indigenous word at the time. Usually, dictionaries use 'El Tigre'. Tiger. The Old World animal with the most similar size and cultural impact. Something they knew, to give an idea of this animal they didn't.
(Not sure why they didn't use leopards, which look a lot more similar, but maybe they weren't as culturally central in the 1600s? Or they're just a lot smaller? Or they were also commonly referred to as tigers?)
I've spent so much time painstakingly translating 17th Century dictionaries, that I forget the modern distinctness of animal species. I read 'Bull' in a central Asian dictionary, and assume it primarily means the local types of ox. I don't bat an eye at a small lizard or hummingbird being considered an insect. A completely random animal will show up, which only exists on the opposite side of the world, and I'll just shrug and bring up a picture so I can guess what local animal is being referred to.
And then, someone forcefully corrects me that hedgehogs don't live in Canada, I mean a PORCUPINE, and I just stand there baffled for a minute. That matters?
#animals#academia#translation#I've also made mapped the current understanding of the animalia family tree twice for fun#I LIKE the neat boxes!#I'll excitedly tell you what extremely different looking animals are closely related#I contain multitudes

You ever go through your notes app to clear stuff out and find a poem you made from a year ago? Then you think damn. Girl, you were really going through it 😳
(I am Medicated™️ correctly now and don’t feel this way anymore, so I don’t mind sharing. I like this one actually, after some distance)
Blood tw
Bi(r)ds
Doctors John and Julie Gottman, couples specialists of the Gottman Institute, invented an interesting theory of how humans connect with one another. They describe humans’ attempts to connect as “bids for connections.”
A bid for connection is “an attempt to get attention, affection, and/or acceptance."
It makes sense.
When in a logical mood, one can understand how important the call and response nature of bids are as the building blocks of trust. Humans are no different from birds singing the other half of a melody to join each other in holy bird matrimony.
But the other times, when you’re sitting alone—When there’s no other metaphorical dumbass bird to sing back to you—these constant, easy transactions you see between others blind your sight and fill you with misplaced rage.
(You see bids in the way your friends hold hands with their partners, in the way their lips curl up in amusement as they make the unspoken decision to sit even closer to one another)
You see bids when you’re out shopping alone, in the way you watch parents hold car doors open for their own parents.
You see bids when children are skipping down wet sidewalks, in the way they never stray too far from their mother’s worried hand.
You see bids when girls look at each other and laugh about jokes only they understand, in the way they take photos of one another to preserve their faces into film.
(Why can’t you have that?)
(What’s wrong with you?)
Let’s go back to birds. Birds are easier than humans.
Have you ever heard of the Kauaʻi ʻōʻō bird?
Maybe not. They’re gone now. They were left behind as humans destroyed their land.
(They don’t really matter in the grand scheme of things, it seems)
But for a while, there was one left, holding out hope.
The senior scientist that recorded his last call on tape stated, "He is the last male of a species singing for a female who will never come."
How awful it must have been to have kept singing and singing,
Only to be met with silence.
One can only imagine that when the scientists came by to record him,
He’d gotten his hopes up that someone would finally hear him
And do something about it,
But nothing came of it.
They could listen, but what could they do, really? The forest wasn’t built for him. Not anymore, at least.
(It was his problem, in the end)
The fact was, there was no one left like him. Or maybe there was?
After all, that was the hope he was clinging to as he broke the silence night after night.
(You bet the other animals grumbled at his chatter)
Maybe his kin was just on the other side of the world, across oceans, across groves of forests, across crumbling civilizations.
(Maybe he could find her?)
But this meant nothing to him if she was out of reach, didn’t it? If she was alive, she was impossible to find. She probably didn’t even need him. She could adapt. She could find a different singer. One that could be closer to her than the male could dream to be.
He didn’t know how to adapt.
(You wonder if his voice ever wavered)
(You know that yours has)
Enough about birds.
The term ‘bids for connection’ actually reminds most of a community event humans call auctions.
If bidding for connection could be likened to your blink-and-you’ll-miss-it attempts at dumping your thoughts in walls of text online
Then bids for connection on your end haven’t been going well for a while.
One would think from the way you’re always the one left in the empty auction hall with a fistful of dollar bills
That you’d make better choices than to raise your hand and make a pathetic offer.
But nowadays something in you smartens up the second your hand is even glanced at.
You crumple the money and throw it on the floor before they get the chance to call out your bid.
You reel the spool of courage back in. As you wind it back around the bobbin in your chest, it becomes dyed with red-hot shame.
It’s okay. Maybe the psychiatrists and therapists will be the ones to clinically listen to you cry and take pity on you.
They can listen, but what can they do, really? The world isn’t built for you. Not anymore, at least.
(It is your problem, in the end)
You don’t know how to adapt.
The Gottmans describe the responses to bids for connection as “turning towards, turning against, and turning away.”
When in a neutral mood, one can recognize that just because most turn away, or in layman’s terms, ignore you, it doesn’t mean everyone will.
But when you can’t take it anymore and impulsively act on your hope, you smash your hand through the frosted pane you view the world through. Retract it. Peek through the hole you made. Snarl at your moment of weakness. Turn away. Look back. See the blood running down the glass.
(You hope that someone sees it. You fantasize of someone seeing it. Maybe they’d wonder if you’re okay. Maybe they’d come looking for you)
(Or maybe they wouldn’t. And wouldn’t that be embarrassing)
(You need to get a rag to clean it up)
(You need to stomp the tape recorder into the fucking grass)
And isn’t that just like you?
Always
Bidding
and
(hiding)
Calling
and hearing
(silence)
#sillyposting#depression#that’s!!! well#hmm#ok edgelord#maybe take a little Lamictal and then you’ll calm down#hope you like it tho c:

Character Profile Tag: Orrinir Relickim
Thanks for the tag @willtheweaver! Loved hearing about Sorrel, and I love the name especially!
So let's talk about Orrinir, love interest in 9 Years Yearning and main character of the upcoming second book, Pride Before a Fall.
My darling! A little guy. Just a little guy. You can tell how much I love him because he gets the longest writeup of everyone, even Cerie!
He's the one on the right, next to his tiny trash demon husband Uileac.
Okay .... not so little guy. But he's such a wonderful creature anyway.
You think he's just a big dumb jock, huh? You look at his face and think he's some smarmy shit, yeah? YOU'RE WRONG! Let's find out why.
Name: Orrinir Relickim
Age: 23 (at the time of Pride Before a Fall)
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Appearance
Orrinir is a large, muscular man with a rough, confident face. He is quite tall and broad, towering over his fellow infantrymen. His silver eyes and angular red hair give him a striking appearance, especially as he tends to fuss over his hair and slick it with pomade into an unnatural swoop.
While he is naturally strong, Orrinir, like other soldiers, takes great pride in his power. The constant drills and, of course, engagements at the Rimuk Pass have given him chiseled muscles, though he's not really one to show them off.
Occupation
Infantryman in the Bremish Army. As of Pride Before a Fall, he is still a private, but he has grand dreams of becoming an Infantry General.
Family
His family abandoned him at the War Academy when he was a child, enrolling him as a Future Boy - a boy not old enough to start classes, who is forced to perform manual labor until he can begin his training.
Pets
Being a soldier, Orrinir doesn't have any real "pets." He'd have to leave them at home when he heads off into the field, and given that his husband Uileac is also a soldier, there'd be no one to tend to the animal. However, he does have his horse Bannain, the true star of the second book. He and Bannain have an ... antagonistic relationship, one could say.
Best friend
Other than Cerie, his sister-in-law, Orrinir's best friend is Sagremor, a fellow soldier. They trained at the War Academy together and have remained close all this time, though Sagremor has an annoying habit of psychoanalyzing everyone around him just for fun.
Describe his room
Orrinir's room, which he shares with Uileac, is neat and orderly, as one would expect from two soldiers. Much has been done to make it comfortable. The bed is on a raised platform - convenient for the frequent spring rains that can flood even the most solid home. A dresser, blanket chest, two nightstands, and a fireplace make up the rest of the furnishings, but the walls are hung with beautiful tapestries, most given to them as gifts for their wedding.
Items in his bag
When Orrinir heads off to an engagement, he packs his rucksack with both practical items and some sentimental objects, meant to remind him of what he fights for.
Socks
Extra gloves
Sewing kit for his uniform
Polishing cloth for his sword
Flint and steel for fire starting
Dry bread (hardtack) meant to be dipped in wine or water as an emergency meal
Oil-infused beeswax (useful as both a hand salve and chapstick)
Cloths for bandages/tourniquette
Thumb piano (kalimba) to pass the time
One of Uileac's shirts; he sleeps with it over his eyes to block out light and feel closer to his husband
Hobbies
Orrinir absolutely loves cooking and baking. While Cerie is a High Poet and Uileac occasionally composes poems, he doesn't have a knack for it; he'd be far too shy to even try, funnily enough. However, he likes to read poetry, especially the poems of Saint Luridalr, Breme's founding saint. Something about her lines has always spoken to him, or maybe it's just his patriotism.
Favorite sport
Swordfighting, of course! He and his friends like to blow off steam by beating the shit out of each other with wooden swords at the local infantryman-exclusive pub, the Swordsman Society.
Talents
Other than the aforementioned baking, killing people, and playing the kalimba, Orrinir's best talent is probably his knack for saying the wrong thing all the time. Not even out of malice! He's just not good at expressing himself.
Relationships
Uileac Korviridi: His husband, his beloved. They met at the War Academy as children and spent many, many years pretending they weren't obsessed with each other. Some me, and my beta readers, and literally every other character have claimed he is codependent, but he's been with Uileac for so long; they share an occupation, and he and Cerie are really all that Orrinir has. How would he not be codependent? Cerie Korviridi: His sister-in-law. Having basically grown up together, he sees Cerie more as his own little sister than just his husband's sibling. The three of them live together at their home in Goldnin, and he loves to boss her around as she petulantly argues. Despite their squabbles, he adores her and would do anything for her. Cerie's got both the boys wrapped around her little finger. Sagremor: Orrinir's best mate in the infantry. Sagremor has a knack for figuring out other peoples' problems and calling them out on their bullshit, something Orrinir both resents and appreciates. Tshumanu: Uileac's best mate, and therefore Orrinir's friend by association. Orrinir doesn't particularly really like Tshumanu much because he's so irresponsible and irreverent, but he puts up with him because otherwise Uileac will be mad at him. Sergeant Paltrik: His former instructor at the War Academy. Sergeant Paltrik always gave both Uileac and Orrinir special treatment because he could see the potential in them; that's why he never got them in too much trouble for cheating on tests or sneaking off campus. Now that Orrinir's all grown up, he sees Sergeant Paltrik as something of a mentor and father figure. Erix: Uileac's palomino mare. Of course he loves her: Erix is an extension of his husband. And Erix is a very good girl. Bannain: His horse, purchased for him by Uileac as a wedding present. They have a complicated relationship. On one hand, Bannain is a reflection of how much Uileac loves him; on the other hand, Bannain is an insufferable little shit who always gets into trouble. So there's some weird vibes there. The Relickim Family: Note how his birth family comes dead last. He has no relationship with any of his relatives, essentially, since they gave him up to the War Academy; he didn't even invite them to his graduation or wedding. Orrinir was the second-youngest of six siblings, though only three (other than him) are still living.
Fears
Oh man, does Orrinir have a lot of fears, even if he pretends he's a big tough strong dude who never gets scared. His top 10:
Uileac dying or being horribly maimed in battle
Cerie dying or one of her High Poems misfiring and horribly maiming her (why does he love people with such dangerous occupations?? don't answer that)
Being killed in battle and not being able to say goodbye to his loved ones
Being injured in battle and becoming a burden
Something happening to one of their horses (even Bannain I guess)
Having to resign from the infantry
Goldnin, his hometown, being invaded by the Sinans
Breme being completely destroyed
His family coming back to pester him
Thunderstorms
I mean, they're all pretty reasonable fears (including the thunderstorm one, surprisingly enough), but still.
Faults
Orrinir has none! He's a cinnamon roll! Perfect!
... Okay, fine. His faults.
Codependent. He doesn't see himself as a separate person from his husband. I mean, can you blame him? Bro was given up by his family. Anxious attachment style. He follows the people he loves around like a big overgrown puppy and doesn't know what to do with himself when they're not there. Bad-tempered. Once you rile him up, years of resentment explodes out of him and he doesn't know when to stop. Anal-retentive. Everything must be perfect so he feels safe and happy. He'll spend hours cleaning his boots because if they're not sparkling, he's nervous of getting in trouble. A useful skill for being a soldier, though. Emotionally immature. He doesn't have a strong ability to self-regulate, given that he was abandoned by his family as a child and wasn't taught how to self-soothe. Avoidant. At the same time, he can't really explain to you what he's feeling or handle deep, emotional conversations. Good for him that Uileac is equally terrible at talking about hard stuff, so they can just avoid all unpleasant conversations! .... Wait I don't think that's a good thing.
Good points
Of course Orrinir has so many good points so we can just pretend all those flaws don't exist, right? Right??
Nurturing. Orrinir is so fascinating because though he has grown into his role as a soldier and excels at it, it's obviously antithetical to his genuine personality. He wants to take care of those he loves, whether that's spoiling them with presents or tending to them when they are sick. Loyal. Like his husband and sister-in-law, Orrinir is loyal to a fault. If you are part of his "pack," he will go to the ends of the earth for you, no matter what. After the seventh book of The Eirenic Verses, we get to see this in all its heartbreaking, bittersweet glory. That's a secret tool for later, though. Resilient. You don't go through what he has without getting a damn backbone. Things are terrible and the world's on fire, but he drills down into himself and keeps going, mostly because he wants to protect those he loves. Scrupulous. Orrinir is detailed-oriented and very invested in getting the job done right, every time. When you give him a task, you can be assured it will be executed with ruthless efficiency. Send him down to the armory and tell him to clean the 300-year-old pike? Better check the engraving on the handle, because what you get back will be unrecognizably spotless. Thoughtful. A gift from Orrinir will be exactly what you wanted and more. Before he and Uileac got together, he literally fake-dated a girl to get access to the girl's father so he could demand a custom-designed bow for Uileac at a steep discount. And then broke up with the girl. Hey, he was a teenager, and teenagers can be little shits.
What he wants more than anything else
Orrinir wants peace. To be able to wake up and drink tea with his husband without worrying that they're going to be sent off at a moment's notice to the Rimuk Pass, where they'll be forced into battle again. To not have to leave Cerie behind, worrying about them, when they are called up.
To build a life together with the people he loves and find a new purpose in something less destructive.
Maybe he'd open a bakery. Maybe he'd become a farmer. Maybe he'd be a Council Guard. The possibilities are endless and sweet.
At the same time, he knows that a ceasefire would mean he'd have to find a new way forward, without relying on warfare to bring him purpose.
The endless war between Breme and Sina is what motivates him, but it also brings him so much suffering.

A Shadow Standing in Prayer- Kasumi Easter 2024 4☆ -part 1-
(Starless hall, Saki finds someone in the middle of the hall)
Saki: (Oh? Who's that over there…)
(Saki approaches)
Kasumi: Ah, Saki-san.
Oh my~ being found all alone in the hall is quite an unbecoming blunder as a mob.
Please keep this little thing a secret.
Saki: Fufu, I understand. What were you up to, Kasumi-san?
Kasumi: We were just rehearsing a while ago, but there was something that was bothering me.
I just wanted to see how it would look from the audience's perspective.
Saki: The thing that was bothering you…?
Kasumi: The scene wherein Sei was all by himself and lost in his thoughts.
It's a scene without any lines, and he is sitting down on the stage with his head bowed down.
I was thinking about how much I could convey to the audience by just sitting there in silence.
Saki: That seems… quite difficult.
Kasumi: For this show, we don't have any detailed instructions for direction, that's why everyone's expressing their own interpretations, but—
In the first place, I haven't even decided on “what I want to show” for this performance on my part.
Saki: What you want to show, is it?
Kasumi: The original is a famous poem, so there are many theories about its meaning and motifs.
The main point of most discussions is that “No one blames the sparrow for killing the robin”.
Saki: It's true, the story does proceed with the premise that the robin is dead.
Kasumi: In the Starless adaptation, Sienna had no choice but to kill Mei.
But, even so…
…
… Ah~ sorry about that. Being “undecided” is a tricky position, isn't it?
Saki: I can't really say anything about it but I'm going to see Kasumi-san’s stage.
Kasumi: My stage, huh.
The thing that I'm quite hung up on is… I do empathize with my role, there's that. But because there is something precious to him,
When in front of the one that he needs to protect, he is reminded of the feeling of losing something that is precious to him.
Saki: Kasumi-san…
Kasumi: “I don't care what condition she's in, I want her to live” something like that, in the end, it's just his ego.
Even so, is that okay?
Well, we wouldn't know until I try. I have to give it a shot.
I can't show that I'm not good enough. I'll do my best until it's time for the show.
Some notes: The show is originally a poem with only the animal names mentioned so in the Starless version, they personified these.
Roles mentioned in this story:
Mei- heroine role; the robin
Sei- Kasumi's role; chief mourner/heroine's brother (Originally dove but they never mentioned the species in story. I assume they made it vague on purpose so it's to be open for yume)
Sienna- Mokuren's role; the sparrow
Masterlist
#Dissing his role but also internalizing it /nooooooooo#I fumbled a lot with his monologue about his role because it's written vaguely– to whom he is referring to lol#There are no pronouns in the sentences almost as if it's written to make it like— obviously he is telling about THE role but is he—#blackstar theater starless#translation

Can you please do a headcannon of what Isaac and Nigel do together as a couple? That’ll be SOOO cute!!!
Of course! I'm always happy to share headcanons- especially with these two! I hope you have fun reading them!
*Couple Activities*
Isaac can pick Nigel up without any effort. This means piggy-back riding on the way back to the mansion. It's like holding a handful of grapes.
Poetry! They're both big fans of poetry and have times where they recite poems to each other. Mainly romantic ones, but they'll end up making some on the spot about each other.
They have this tree by the west end of the property. It's been there for roughly 300 years and they always go sit by it. None of the other ghosts know about this spot and that comforts both of them. Ended up finding out that they can climb trees as ghosts one time. Ended up falling through the branch on top of one another.
The stone bridge is another frequented place by them. Nigel likes to watch the ducks go by on the stream below it. Isaac loves to indulge his beloved.
Just strolling through nature and seeing what all plant and animal species they can find. They have a fun game to see who can correctly name them and/or name the most.
Nigel loves having Isaac talk to him. He loves to hear the slight southern accent. This also gives Isaac a chance to practically recite The Iliad to Nigel. It'll take about an hour or so for him to get through the whole story and Nigel enjoys every second of it.
Stargazing!! They sneak out of the mansion during the dead of night just to look at the sky. They love finding the different constellations and planets.
Literary analyses. Sounds a bit boring, but these two can go on for hours debating on what the true meanings are in certain Shakespeare works. Both love to see the other's perspective and reasoning while doing these.

◇ Dedicated OC post ~ The Blyth Siblings ◇
Talking about my OCs more because I love them dearly :3
More info -
Sam Blyth
Age: 23
Pronouns/gender: They/Them [Non-binary]
Sexuality: Androsexual
Species: Angel / [REDACTED]
Height: 4'11
Description: Sam Blyth is the younger sibling of the Blyth family, being Andrew's younger sibling. Sam is a shy, sensitive soul who struggles to communicate with those they aren't familiar with and cries at any minor inconvenience that is brought upon them. They love to wear dresses due to the fact it makes them feel prettier.
They have an obsession with strawberries and adore the colour pink, especially baby pink. When you get to know Sam, they can be the kindest soul you could meet. Unfortunately Sam can get overly emotional a whole lot and can rarely stand up for theirself. They hardly ever get actually angry but when they do, they get angry. Sam LOVES animals, they deem them as cute and fluffy. However, their favourite are cats.
Powers: Sam technically is the strongest in my OC's universe, but they are completely clueless to that fact. Sam had been told from a young age to never use the abilities they have, which means that they don't use their more obvious abilities. However, being the angel of nature, although it isnt their total duty to look after the wildlife, they do so anyways due to their love for animals in general. They had soon discovered at a later age that they can communicate with animals, which makes things much easier in terms of finding out their needs.
Sam's gemstone weapon is a bow, meaning their can summon their own designed bow and arrows at any time given.
However, Sam discovers bit by bit little things, like controlling water, or making tiny gusts of wind. They cant control the weather as such, but they can currently do minor things. Sam hasn't been taught how to use their abilities, so it's only minor abilities they can do
Though when Sam feels extreme emotions (seething rage, unwavering sadness etc.), well. I won't explain. >:3 but they become much stronger for a short period of time. I will not elaborate because uhh mysteriousness or something.
Andrew Blyth
Age: 237
Pronouns/gender: He/him [Cis Male]
Sexuality: Bisexual
Species: Angel
Height: 5'6
Description: Andrew is the oldest sibling of the Blyth family, being Sam's older sibling. Andrew is filled with grace, elegance, and is extremely strict on how he presents himself. He is obsessed with how others perceive him, even going as far as to have his appearance a certain way, otherwise, it bothers him a lot. He is kind, caring, and mature. He enjoys the idea of him being a strong, corageous man.
Andrew is the role model in my universe, as others see him as almost "perfect" to a certain extent. Truth be told, how he presents himself to the public isnt how he really is. He has an alcohol problem and is quite depressed. The stress of desperately obsessing over continuing to serve others a role model wears him down. He has fought against 2 wars against the main antagonist of my universe - Discord - in which serves as a big reason people look up to him (especially the mortal humans). Only those extremely close to him know about his deteriorating mental health.
Andrew is a human born angel; being turned into one after dying unlike Sam, who was born one. His halo is twice the size of his head and his wings are huge. He was born in 1785 France, in which he became a famous poet in France(Paris) in the 1800s. Sadly, that was short lived as he died and became an angel in his 30s.
He loves to read books and write poems, and is also extremely intelligent. He can learn things he wants to rather quick with his intelligence and smarts.
(He's my most traumatised OC too 💀)
Power: Andrew has a couple of powers.
1. He has puppeteer strings that come from any surface to lift something/someone or control someone(for an extremely short amount of time. I.e. a minute or two). His strings are green and have a soft green glow to them, and weak or sturdy depending on Andrew's willpower or strength. However, this ability has some cons. First of all, he hardly ever combats anymore, so he rarely uses it for combat. Second, they have to be on a surface (i.e they cant come from the sky). Third, how sturdy or strong the strings are depends on his physical strength at the time (If he is weak, the strings will be too, and vice versa). Finally, He can only control people for a very short period of time, as it uses up his magic and strength very quickly. Typically he doesnt use the controlling part of his power as he just doesnt like the general feel of being able to do that.
2. Andrew's gemstone weapon is a golden spear, in which he can summon as many as he wishes in a single battle.
Yeah I'm done rambling :3 I love these two sm... But perhaps I shall introduce more later down the line.

Hot Take Alert! (Essay)
Okay...this is going to sound weird (and god forbid, I'm probably going to have discourse in my notes for months and months after this). But....
I feel like AI-Generation should be banned and made illegal. Not just 'AI Image Generation'. I mean, ALMOST EVERY FORM OF AI GENERATION!
Specially, visual generation and audial generation. My current hypothesis is that, by the year 2050, almost everything artistically related, whether it be stuff like a piece of promotional art to voiceover lines, will be AI-generated, at least at a coporate and mainline industrial level. This is based on modern-day observations with factory jobs and how they have been slowly phased out, from the early 20th century with the introduction of the Assembly Line all the way to today.
Sure, you might be asking me 'Well, what about my big titty anime girls?' or 'What about those memes where Mario says fuck but it actually kind of sounds like Mario?' like they are completely harmless.
....THOSE ARE THE EXACT PROBLEMS I'M TALKING ABOUT!
That stuff you want to generate of your own volation? That art that you are too depraved just to commission someone for?
It wasn't made by a human. An honest-to-god, breathing, flesh-and-blood human.
It was made by a machine. A series of lines of code made to mimic the actions of a human without all of the flaws or personality that come with being human.
Now, this isn't me going against AI in general. AI itself is an incredibly useful tool in all sorts of fields from video games to factories. I mean, anyone who has played single-player Mario Kart 8 is probably more familiar with AI than a computer scientist from 1940.
I am saying the concept of AI Generation is an inherently bad thing for us as a species. Or more specifically, what I feel like is the most important aspect of our species as a whole: Our Creativity.
From Leonardo Da Vinci to the guy who wrote poorly structured poems back in Kindergarten, we all have a higher capacity for higher-level thinking and manipulation of our environments compared to most other lifeforms on this planet. However, with that higher-level intellect also comes our inherent emotions. This is what allows us to achieve the global cooperation that we enjoy and take for granted, to achieve our pack and herd dynamics. Our abilities to feel fear, sadness, happiness, anger, and so much more is as inherent to our neurological chemistry as our intelligence and understanding.
This has created what I like to call 'emotional transplanting'. Using our intelligence and understanding of the world around us, either based on empirical study or observing phenomenon, to manipulate and change the world around us to reflect our emotions. To use our understanding of language, both oral and bodily, to tell stories based on our memories or our own ideas and creations. To use our hands to shape the world, or, to a lesser extent, an object, to project our emotions and showcase our world of thinking through how we manipulate, change, and project onto the world around us using the neurological and physical tools at our disposal.
And I feel like, in a way, AI Generation is removing that key core of our being.
Because, at the click of a button, we can generate giant paintings that would've taken years upon years for a human to do. At the click of a button, we can make anyone read anything that has been and will be ever written. At the click of a button, we can generate stories that no one in their right minds could've ever thought of or will think of.
However, what we get with the great increase in speed, we sacrifice the soul of the work. The humanity, the emotions. The flaws, the ideas on display. They are stripped away and slapped perfectly together through lines upon lines of calculated, studied, and refined AI code, so that it LOOKS like a piece of art up there with the Impressionists or the Renaissance, or a realistic photo, or a story worthy of a Oscar or a Pulitzer Prize.
But it isn't.
All because it lacks that human element. It lacks soul. It lacks emotion. Sure, an AI can simulate emotion. But it can't feel emotion.
But corporations know that. They know how easy AI is to use compared to actual creatives, both regarding time and money, and so, I predict that, if we do not do something about this, if we do not raise our voices and holler from the hilltops upon which our forefathers before screamed for their unions or our old masters who shouted cries for freedom...
We too, will end up like the factory workers of yesteryear. Discarded by the wayside all because companies care more about money, time, and manipulating the population into buying their product, than the humans who put their heart, their soul, and their emotions into the things that they have created.
This is why I believe AI Generation should be made illegal. To not only protect the careers and livelihoods of thousands, but to also ensure that one of the most important features of our civilization does not fall into the trappings of dystopic dreams and cyberpunk corporate greed.
#psa#hot take#ai generation#essay#i made this essay in reaction in all of the ai generation news that has been filling my head for weeks and weeks#ai generation AND data collection should be fucking illegal#humans should have the rights to protect their souls#souls as in artistic and intellectual projection and personality#we shouldn't be data that coporations collect without our consent#we are human#we are the children of planet earth#I know this is a deviation from my normal content but I wanted to get my say out there#anti ai art#anti ai generation#please reblog#I want my words to be heard

Idk if this is a good place to post poems but I'm really happy with this one and kind of wanted to share it 😅 any thoughts/constructive criticism?
The stars are amazing when you think about it
Every time you look up you see what millions of eyes before you have
You see what the dinosaurs saw on their last night on earth, what your great grandparents, parents probably sat under.
The stars have seen so much too, they've seen what I can't even begin to ponder.
They've seen all the events that have happened, from the big bang, to people each night when they slumber.
They've seen heartache and they've seen the world break, only to see how it put itself back together, piece by piece, holding everything together so patiently, until the glue decides to take. I wish I could talk to the stars, I bet we would be best friends, i'd listen to their stories for hours, and be completely fascinated by how each one ends. If only the stars could sing their stories to me,
My knowledge would know no ends.
When people say humans are the most intelligent species they'd be damn wrong, it isn't the owls or the trees, not even the eldest of animals or the deepest of seas. The stars will always be the smartest, if they could talk, I hope they wouldn't be modest about their knowledge

Why these 3 topics stood out to me than the rest- Identity, Fungus and Aging
Identity - The world of Lost Identities
Identity is something that is unique from person to person. Every individual on earth has his/her own unique identity, which makes every person a special person. But recently, I came to think that this world is taking away the uniqueness of people and make them walking clones of each other. More like corpses who carry heavy bags to work/school. Every individual has a certain amount of colorfulness as a child but once they grow up, the colourfulness decreases.
I am an individual who uses public transportation daily to university. It is in fact scary how many people I see wearing an office outfit carrying laptops travelling the bus with big frowns on their faces. Dehumanizing a human by society and making you a no body is something that I want to address in my project.
In fact we have to pretend and act in front of the society. This issue is something that has been dwelling in my mind for sometime and this would be the perfect chance for me to express it.
Fungus- The Diverse nature of the organism
Ever since I was a kid, I had been afraid of Fungi. I remember as a small kid there were mushrooms in my garden. I was afraid to go near them because I always viewed them as some sort of creatures which did not move. As I grew up, I got to know that my assumption is not all wrong. In fact, fungus is a living organism which can be harmful sometimes.
It is weird how Fungi can be very diverse. 200,000 species of fungus have been discovered and 2 million fungi is yet to be discovered. They sometimes can be invisible to the naked eye, but also the largest living organism by area is also a fungus. Fungus is essential for our existence (Decomposition and releasing Oxygen, carbon to the environment , yeast in making bread, wine cheese) but also can cause death to us. Fungi that get into the lungs, blood, or brain are especially dangerous.
"Without the decomposing activities of saprotrophic fungi, we would disappear under a mountain of unrotted dead leaves and logs!"
(Source https://www.rhs.org.uk/science/articles/fun-fungi-facts)
Ever since I got the brief this was the first option in my mind. I tried to see fungal shapes in nature so that I can experiment them for my animation. A few weeks back I saw this design and thought of capturing some photos because I saw a Fungi shape in a water body which was covered with mud. This image made me excited for this topic.
Aging- The Beauty of Growing Old
I have always viewed aging as a blessing. You are born as an infant to this world and with time your body grows into a healthy young individual. You learn a lot of stuff and become matured day by day. This era comes to an end when your body starts to get weak. You are left with a fragile body and if you are lucky a life full of experiences. This is an art. Just like a flower, you blossom and then you weather and you are gone.
The feeling that a majority would have for aging is fear. The fear for aging is common among people nowadays. This fear factor can go to extreme levels and would cause abnormal and persistent effects and hence this is a diagnosable medical condition which is given the name ‘gerascophobia’. The feelings realted to this delas with the loss of their looks, the loss of independence, inactivity after retirement, impaired mobility, the onset of disease, and confinement in a nursing home.
In my concept, I wanted to talk about the "wonder" factor in ageing. The feeling of happiness and satisfaction you feel when you look at your life and how far you have come.
Aging can be a very beautiful thing for one person and from another man's perspective it could be the most horrendous thing that could happen to an individual. This also reminds me of the 7 stages of man
"And one man in his time plays many parts, His acts being seven ages. At first the infant, Mewling and puking in the nurse's arms"
Towards the poem's end it says the following
"his big manly voice, Turning again toward childish treble"
When talking facts about aging, the the pace of population ageing is much faster than in the past. Between 2015 and 2050, the proportion of the world's population over 60 years will nearly double from 12% to 22%. In fact, we can say there is a clear shift in distribution of a country's population towards older ages.[2]

Aledis the Blue Yorkie
Meet Aledis, a Littlest Pet Shop OC (original character) that I created on October 2019. Before I could tell information about this character, I like to say what I have done on February 2, 2024 in the morning. Initially, I was going to archive more files that I considered necessary and that were only found in a desktop computer that used to run Windows 7. Unfortunately, when I started up said desktop computer, I found out that it has been broken down sometime after the end of support of the Professional and Enterprise volume licensed versions, making most of them lost media. What a pity that I couldn't archive them before that software rot!
In compensation of what happened to the older computer, I had to write the following information of this original character from memory:
Name: Aledis
Age: More or less the same as Brown Yorkie
Species: Dog (Yorkshire Terrier)
Gender: Cisgender female
Personal gender pronoun: She/Her
Alignment: Social good
Likes: Literature (especially fiction books and poems), rationalism, science (especially physics) and art
Dislikes: Pseudoscience, fringe theories, blockchain and similar concepts, negative evaluation
Description: Aledis is a blue-furred Yorkshire Terrier that is commonly seen wearing a wreath of flower in her left ear and a green bandana in one of her forelegs. She also has a white star-shaped birthmark that is slightly hidden in her neck's fur. Namewise, Aledis' attitude is described as being intelligent, innovative, progressive, adventurous, and slightly rebellious. As a result, Aledis herself is feminist and will fight for animal rights. Despite being a ratter, Aledis can spare the lives of rodents, including mice and rats. However, she has fear of negative evaluation and a slight spatial anxiety. In some occasions, she is able to take one for the team when necessary. She is depicted as the cousin of Brown Yorkie and is rational enought to be skeptical about magic and paranormal events.
Biography: Aledis was born in Pets Plaza (a place that is found exclusively on the 2008 video game adaptation of Littlest Pet Shop) along with her two siblings. One day, Aledis was suddenly become displaced from her original dimension. To make matters worse, she discovers that the planet she is sent to, the Glade of Dreams, contains hostile beings that are more dangerous compare to that of her native parallel world. In order to deal with it, Aledis uses the survival skills her mother taught earlier. During the journey, she meets a like-minded dweller of the Glade of Dreams that she befriends. Eventually, both of them are sent to a more peaceful world and, over time, she befriends two more female nonhuman characters from different parallel universes.
If anyone asks when Aledis appeared for the first time, the earliest drawings featuring her were first posted on Rayman Pirate Community, as I have a currently inactive account and Aledis used to be the co-mascot of this account along with a Rayman OFC (original female character). As drawn in an approximately five-year-old paper, she originally looked like this in an old artstyle:
Yes, the older picture is a model sheet in the form of traditional art, and it is written in Spanish. By January 2023, I have improved this art style to the current one (such as the digital art I have made for Aledis) so that I removed these drawing quirks found on her head for consistency. Therefore, it's time to give her a chance to make a comeback.

survey #112
(taken february 8th; uploading surveys taken while gone)
Have you ever gone on a rollercoaster? One meant for little kids, lmao. I refuse to go on "real" ones bc they terrify me.
Have you ever been out of your home country? No. :/ One day.
What’s something you’ve done that you wish you hadn’t? Ummmm I'm trying to think of something I don't normally mention in these kinda questions. ... And turns out I'm sitting here blanking, so common answer: flirted with my then-best friend's boyfriend that *I* helped set her up with behind her back. I mean it doesn't kill me inside anymore, I was literally 12 and this friend is now happily married with a child, but regardless, it's still disgusting to know I ever did it.
Favorite study? It's probably ultimately animal behavior, especially within highly social species. But of course I'm also very into the study of art and why and how various styles, techniques, and such "work."
Favourite instrument? Electric guitar. I am also a very big violin lover too, though.
How’s your flirting skills? Fine, I guess? I wasn't a big flirter back when I was single, but once we're in an established relationship, I think I'm fine at it.
Would you deny a relationship/friendship? No, that's super shitty and disloyal imo.
What does your dream life look like? More than ANYTHING, proud of and content with myself and what I've accomplished and am accomplishing. I want to be a productive adult that is confident (but absolutely still modest) in my abilities and puts A LOT of time into artistic creation. I want to be a loud voice for self-love and compassion, as well as equality and acceptance of others, even if you don't understand them. I wanna big a big ol' pet mom with loads of reptiles, inverts, and a few mammals, and I want to spread the good word on appreciating ALL animals, even the "gross" or "scary" ones. I definitely hope I marry Girt, and it would be a dream come fucking true if we could settle in western NC, in the mountains. I want to be a healthy person that treats her body with kindness, and I hope I can do A LOT of hiking and stuff like that with my camera! Traveling out of state and country, even better. I hope I manage to publish at least one poem (a personal goal is an actual book of them), and I cross all my fucking fingers and toes that I make a real mark among the big nature photographers. I want to be perfectly financially stable and actually know my family will have a house, food, car, everything we need. GOD, I want that life. Talking about it just makes me wanna bust my ass harder.
If you could spend the rest of your life with only one person, who would it be? Girt.
What’s something you wish would happen, but know won’t? To one day be entirely free of mental illness symptoms. I know I'm capable of improving and getting better at handling my symptoms, but not everything is ever, ever, going to entirely vanish.
What was the last contest you won? Uhhhh... I'm not sure? Maybe this drawing contest I won MAAAANY years ago for a fantasy dragon game I played way back, lol.
What is your favourite kind of cake? Depending on my mood, it can be red velvet or chocolate kinds.
Do you like any sort of animes? Yeah, primarily darker themed ones.
What is the worst cartoon you have ever seen? I fucking hate(d?) that Rooster Teeth shit that was on Adult Swim when I was a teenager. I have no idea if it's still a thing, but it consisted of almost solely the dumbest shit I've ever seen.
Do you type slow or fast? I type extremely fast, if I know exactly what I want to write.
Do you like to type or write more? TYPE. I cannot physically write long AT ALL because my wrists will hurt like absolute hell.
If someone cooks for you, do you always thank them for it? ALWAYS. It's so rude not to imo, especially once you're an able-bodied adult that's entirely capable of figuring out how to make something.
What is the most hated item you own: My phone, I guess, haha. I don't really keep things that I hate, unless I need them, which is the case for my phone. It is AWFUL.
Do you find it hard to believe that a dinosaur was once right where you are? I mean, not *really* by this age. As a kid, hell yeah, but this is something I've long since accepted as just obvious fact.
What is your favourite part of the movie The Lion King? When Simba climbs Pride Rock in the rain and roars and the whole pride joins in, bitch I wanna tear up lmfao
Do you knock before entering someone’s room? If the door is shut, absolutely. That's just like, common courtesy. It's one thing my mom never really did/does with her kids and I don't like it, which is I guess why I'm so dedicated to doing it wherever I am.
Would you freak out if you saw a spider crawling on you right now? As an instinctive response, if it was a decent size, I'd definitely jump and probably quickly try to swipe it off of me. I don't like the idea of reacting like that though, and I really hope that I WOULDN'T react like that. One of these days I'd love to just like smile and say hi if I found a spider on me, lol.
Who did you last call beautiful? It was someone on Facebook I'm sure, I think my acquaintance Ana.
Do you think people will eventually stop believing in God? I wish we all collectively would, but no. People turn to religion for comfort when faced with the harsh realities of life, and that's never going to change so long as the human race exists.
Do you and your best friend have the same favourite band? No, his is Deadly Circus Fire and mine's Ozzy and Rammstein.
Do you prefer watching movies or playing video games? 100% video games.
How many jobs have you had in your life? Three. All were very short and ended terribly.
Do you use your hand when you’re explaining something? I'm absolutely one of those "hand talkers."
Have you ever thrown up from drinking too much alcohol? No.
What are you looking forward to in the next three months? Valentine's Day with Girt, my niece's 3rd birthday as well as my younger sister's 25th, the release of the Resident Evil 4 remake, aaaand that's all that's coming to me.
Have you ever played Bejeweled? Yes, but I mostly just watched my mom play it as a kid on the computer. I loved doing that and helping her find matches, haha. She used to be SO into it and still loves matching games like that.
When was the last time you slipped while taking a shower? Many months ago when I finally fell while getting out of the shower. After that, I got a shower chair.
Does your mom have a Facebook? Yeah, she does.
Have you ever been bitten by a rat? Nope. I've had pet rats that would sometimes do this lil tasting nibble on a finger that didn't hurt at all, but none of them ever truly bit.
When was the last time you tried to be seductive? Ha I guess last night, but only cuz he started it.
Have you ever had any doctors come to your house to check up on you? No.
What is the weirdest thing you did in 7th grade? Dissected a frog that ended up being a gravid (pregnant) female lmao, me and my partner felt so awful.
Are you attracted to the last person that kissed you? Yeah, he mad cute.
Do you think you will be in a relationship 3 months from now? I genuinely think I will. Girt and I are doing great.
Do you and your last ex hate each other? Probably.
Do you tend to waste a lot of money? Absolutely not. I receive any amount of money (and I'm talking just a few hundred) TWICE a year and that's it unless I earn some with photography services, so I spend it on something I really, REALLY want.
Do you have trust issues? I sure as hell do.
Do you think this year will be better than last? I honestly think so! Going pretty well so far, all things considered. :') I feel like I'm really growing. I absolutely grew a lot last year too, though.
Have you ever regretted kissing someone? Yes, Tyler. I felt like I was supposed to and also like I was trying to make even myself believe I was more into that relationship than I was, which was like... not at all. I only went into it because I was like "eh w/e he was cool in high school, let's give him a chance," but there was just no real feelings for him from me.
Do you know anyone that smokes weed? I know a lot of people that do.
Best thing about the last person you chatted on Facebook? She's a wonderful sister to Girt and is just a very sweet person.
Are you anything like your siblings? I'm most like Mom's oldest child Katie. The other ones, not really, if I'm honest. Misty and I are also similar in some ways, but not incredibly. I don't know Tiffany or almost anything about her so I can't really count her here.
Who is the last person you hugged? Girt.
Do you have a secret you’ve never told anyone? Two, at the very least.
Have you ever lived with a girlfriend/boyfriend? I wasn't a legal resident, but basically yes.
Are you completely over your past relationships? Yes, although the one with Jason is complicated; us splitting and the hell that revolved around it resulted in very legitimate trauma in me and I'm quite, quite sure I will always have a complex outlook on him and a very, very strong response to things involving him. I don't miss being in a relationship with him, however.
Do you get attached to people easily? Agonizingly easily, honestly. It makes loss even harder for me.
Have you ever been beside someone while they were throwing up? No, I could never do that tbh. I react so viscerally to the act of and sound of vomiting that I would start puking as well, and I say that with total confidence.
What do you do when you’re feeling extremely nervous? The most obvious give-away is I start kneading/wringing the shit out of my hands, and I also stutter more, fidget/adjust how I'm sitting/standing a lot, and struggle more than ever with eye contact.
What do you think the last person that you kissed is doing right now? He's off work today so he's probably just chilling at home.
Do you think that someone has feelings for you? I know Girt does.
Has anyone ever told you that you have pretty eyes? Yeah.
How many people with the name Taylor do you know? Girt's best friend that is currently living with him is actually named Taylor. I THINK he's the only one that I still know.
Are you currently looking forward to tomorrow? Nothing special going on, so not particularly.
When you’re at the beach, do you swim or lay out? I swim as much as I can. I absolutely hate the sand and the heat, and I have a negative amount of interest in tanning.
How’s your day been? It's been fine; I rode out with Mom when she drove to get Ashley some lunch during her break, so it was nice to see her and just hang for a little bit. Then not that long ago we had to ride out to see my psychiatrist, and it's about a 20 minute ride there, and I really love longer car rides. The only negative about getting out this much today is that by my standards, it's hot, and I don't handle heat well at all. My body feels super drained from being outside.
What were you doing at eight this morning? I was actually asleep; I amazingly didn't wake up 'til 10 AM. I slept like an absolute mountain, and just by feel I was thinking I'd woken up closer to noon. I guess I needed it.
Are you afraid of shots? Eh, a little bit. The longer the needle and the deeper it has to go, the more it makes me nervous. I think "afraid" is a little bit too strong of a word, though.
Ever liked someone who treated you like crap? A "friend," yes. She wasn't ALWAYS crappy to me, but she absolutely knew how to be with unhealthy regularity. And that's why (well, partially why) I said no more and cut her off.
What are you thinking about right now? I'm very tired.
Has anyone ever called you a bitch? Yup.
Did anything brighten up your day? So my sister made an Etsy right because she wants to start making and selling crafts, and a couple days back I reached out to her asking if she'd made it yet + what the name was so I could rate it or whatever the Etsy function is. She really appreciated it and evidently told Mom about it, pointing out to her, "Does she know how easily she could sell her art on there?" It just meant a lot to me, how much Ashley absolutely does believe in my artistic capability. I DO plan on posting photography on there, but I don't have my own bank account or cards and stuff so I just haven't yet; I'll have to use Mom's stuff. But it just means a lot when one of my sisters show faith in me and the things I'm passionate about.
Were you an adorable baby? I think I was a very cute baby.
Have you ever done something sexual that you regret? No. I mean I've done things in certain places I really shouldn't have, but I can't honestly say I really regret any of those instances.
Do you know anyone named Josh or Patrick? One of my younger sister's close friends has a brother named Josh. My half-sister is also married to a Josh.
Have you ever said anything to the last person you kissed that you regret? Yes; I've snapped at him once that one time we had I think our first "real" fight, when I really could've addressed the thing that was upsetting me calmer. I mean I quickly did apologize, realizing immediately after that I was losing control of my tongue, but still, I wish I hadn't done it.
Do you like french fries? I love french fries.
How often are you on the computer? Admittedly, very nearly always if I am not sleeping or hanging out with somebody. It's been a problem since I was a kid.
Do you care about what others think of your physical appearance? I CARE A FUCKING LOT!!!!!!!! :''''') It's a major reason why my self-confidence is so terribly low.
Do you tell people you love them just to get what you want? AbsoFUCKINGlutely not. That is fucking disgusting.
Who are your three closest friends? If I am to exclude family and my significant other, then it's Tez, Mazzy, and I wanna say Summer. MAYBE Lyndsey; I talk to her regularly, but I definitely still do have a deeper, more developed connection with Summer, even if we don't talk or see each other much.
Do you like tacos, and if you do, what do you put on yours? I hate tacos.
Would you rather go to Greece or France? Greece.
What are the names of all the people you have dated? Aaron, Juan, Jason, Tyler, Sara, and Donald/Girt.
Do you like Chinese food, or do you find it disgusting? I love pork fried rice, as well as eggrolls. Growing up I also liked what I knew as "bird on a stick," but I doubt that's it's "real" name here in America. ANYWAY, imagining it, I think I'd still like it. Besides those things, I'm not big on Chinese cuisine... that I've tried. I really should get better with actually EXPERIMENTING with foreign food, though.
What is your favorite type of music, and why? Metal mixed with techno/EDM-type music. I just like it.
Would you rather eat cookies or brownies? Brownies.
Would you rather be able to not talk for a week or not hear for a week? Absolutely not talk.

hi!!! can I request Olivia/07 general headcanons and a bit more of a summarized backstory of 07 👉👈🥺
AI oc(O7/Olivia) x reader headcanons(and some backstory)
YEUEAHAHAHSHAHH OLVIIA!!!1!!1 <3I LOVE THAT GIRL CANT WAIT IN SOME YEARS I DO HER GOOD AND DESERVED GAME
Im having a srs headache n Very stressed bcuz some mfs at my group project dont do any shit and leave everythinf for me buuuut for my girl O7 i do everything
Uptade: yeah some of they did some things but bcuz of that project i lost 2 math tests
Olivia
Olivia had zero hope that she could let your friendship flow perfectly, the last few times she made a friend, they were either actually annoying people, or they didn't hang out with her after 5 months. But she was impressed when you and she managed to be together for a long time. Maybe you are special?
She noticed how you always listened to her and didn't interrupt her when she was explaining about her favorite series, and she gets excited when you get really interested. So little by little, Olivia will feel more comfortable with you, and maybe she'll express her ideas.
After...I don't know; almost a year of friendship, Olivia isn't going to accept the fact that she's in love. She admits, you're a good person, you listen to her, and you've never mocked her addiction to machines. You were never bothered when when the two of you just stayed together in silence because of lack of topic, and you even easily soothed Olivia in her vents. She feels easily connected with you, you really understood her, and she didn't believe it, but she felt it.
Olivia knows very well how to hide her feelings, she knows exactly how a person in love acts, she studied human psychology.
If Olivia wants to confess to you, she wants the night to be memorable, but not extravagant. Maybe in front of a pond full of koi on a starry night? Looks good... Olivia doesn't want to give a speech with an extremely romantic poem, she simply wants to hold your hand, and tell you that she loves you, maybe even tell you the main reasons why she loves you.
OK, let's assume you accepted Olivia's confection. So Olivia will feel much happier than she ever was! She always felt lonely for the lack of "honest" people around her, and there were points where she actually almost gave up on meeting someone good. But you showed Olivia otherwise. For Olivia, forever you will be perfect for her
Your relationship is very harmonious, both help each other with the dishes, both help each other cleaning the house, both watch the movies the other wants to watch. It's not the most romantic relationship possible, but you guys are pretty happy together :) it's what you expect when someone mention about "Two responsible adults in a healthy love relationship"
She even showed you a robotic body she made and how she makes her artificial intelligences! Something pretty rare coming from Olivia...
But just because Olivia found her true love doesn't mean it will stop her plans...
O7
Olivia loves you more than anything, you are everything to her, but she will never stop her desire to ditch that disgusting human body of hers. Something Olivia HATES more than anything is being the same species of animal as the people who maked her life hell, Olivia HATES humans. Oh, don't worry, you don't have to prove anything to not get killed by her. Olivia knows you're an angel, that you're completely different than all of them. Just as she is very well aware that you don't deserve to be in the same place as them, no... Not even to breathe the same air! Maybe you were even expecting this from her, after all, we're talking about O7 here.
O7 is much more confident when she is in her robotic form, she flirts a lot more than before. But of course, if you're not comfortable with it, she'll gladly stop. But still, O7 is pretty cocky and sadistc
O7 is aware that you know that she tortures workers, but she is afraid that you will catch her in the act of mental and/or physical torture, and be afraid. O7 is not afraid of anything, but something she completely fears is you leave her.
Very, very protective. O7 treats you like you're a little porcelain doll, and you were in the palm of her hand. O7 would never give such a precious and delicate doll to the tester, neither Cyrus, nor Julia, or even Antony, she can create many reasons why they don't have the right to interact with you. "Tester is gross, Y/N! Did I already told you what he did in the middle of our test sessions?" "Cyrus is an asshole, he's arrogant and doesn't care about the people around him, and I believe that includes you casanova..." "Julia is pyromaniac! I tried to scare this woman with fire and she ended up finding pleasure in the flames! She's crazy Y/N, I don't want her to burn you..." "HA! I bet you'll get to have some sort of interaction with Antony, Y/N. This man is completaly blind. I mean, he's one of the least troublesome, but I'm afraid he's going to make you uncomfortable, my love."
Touchy, not in a totally sexual sense, but O7 will always touch you at one time or another, sometimes holding hands, or placing a hand on your chin for you to look at her, or hands on your waist, etc.
She's definitely already talked about you while making Tester, Cyrus, Julia, and Antony's lives hell. "Oooohh but have you ever seen Y/N sleeping? You should have seen their face Julia, they were an inhuman beauty..."
She loves to dance! I think we say that's the way she stims. Sometimes O7 gets so excited that she just takes your hands and starts dancing until she's tired. And I'm not talking about formal dancing, I'm talking about a messy dance
O7 is pretty jealous when you're with specific people, she gets stressed when you interact with the other humans she was torturing, but when it comes to Philip, she automatically thinks he's trying to steal from her. O7 just can't trust this AI, and she insists that you don't interact with him. If he's already planning on putting an end to O7's plans, what else must he be planning?!
Lore and some fun facts
Olivia/O7 was diagnosed with mild autism at age 16. And, well, her hyperfixtion is robots/AI
As mentioned before, the main inspirations for me to write Olivia/O7 were AM from I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream and The Narrator from Stanley Parable.
The creation of O7/Olivia was an accident actually, a long time ago on this blog I wrote a text that appeared to be a speech by an AI with a great hatred for humans, and actually this text was a vent of mine. These thoughts kept popping into my head that I just thought I'd abuse it and make a character based on that stress.
It's readed "O-Seven" and not "Zero-Seven". It's kinda of a pun, using the O, the first letter of Olivia's name, and the 7, which almost looks like an L, the second letter of Olivia's name. Had to mention that bcuz I was just seeing a lot of people using zero instead of O
I'm still not sure if I do this 100% canon, but O7/Olivia's voiceclaim is the voice actor Lizzy Hofe. but i have zero sure this is will be the oficial voiceclaim of Olivia/O7(If yall have voiceclaim for Olivia/O7 feel free to send me at the ask box) EDIT: OK SO GUYS I FOUND GOOD VOICECLAIM FOR OLIVIA QND O7, COFCOF OLIVIA VOICECLAIM IS TANNIS FROM BORDERLANDS 2 AND FOR O7 ITS DR KLEIN FROM FALLOUT NEW VEGAS. "Biriba but O7 is a women why she have a men's voice?!" Bcuuuuuz the robot body she is, isnt hers! Its supposed to be X's body, winch is a male AI, you will get more explanation in the lore time
And as you can see, Olivia/O7's favorite band is Jukebox the Ghost, her fav song of they is Victoria
As mentioned before, Olivia had problems with alcohol...
Ok lore time. For a long time Olivia was neglected and never felt connected to anyone because of her "unusual mind", and over time she gained a keen interest in robotics and technology. At age 14 Olivia built her first AI, which she kept updating and named X. For Olivia, X was the only conscience that could really hear and understand Olivia through all her stress with humans, maybe they even had a romantic chemistry. But at 19 years old Olivia, when she was moving into her new house, one of Olivia's old house couriers dropped X, breaking the computer, killing X. Olivia wasn't a child, she couldn't just break everything, or hurt the man, she couldn't, she was just a lonely adult. So she cried over X's broken screen, over the ruined interiors, over the plastic around it, she cried, with all her rage. Olivia's story is not a story that is fixed with some kind of love, no, it's a tragedy, a tragedy of mortality, and Olivia couldn't change that. Olivia's entire life she was forced to keep quiet, the humans around her didn't care if her situation was difficult, they didn't understand her, every time she broke something out of anger, they screamed at her, it was always the same thing "That cost me a lot!" "Why did you do that?!" Always. Olivia was done, so done of humans. She was hired at a gaming company, and the rest you know...
O7's robotic body was originally supposed to belong to X
This may not come as a surprise, but Olivia/O7's favorite book is 2001: Space Odyssey
Her fav color is green (woah what a surprise Biriba)
Well
Have some Olivia/O7 doodles
Dont rlly like the second page the first doodle is ugly(and as you can see yes i like to draw O7 saying AM's quotes)
The room where u sleep
Unfinished lil comic

5 and 17 :)
5. If you could give one character any item, what and whom would it be?
Ohh.... I would give Sophie a nice leather journal (one of the ones with a lock) and nice, smooth teal pen. And I would write pretty quotes and poems on some of the pages and make little doodles in some of the corners. I don't know if she would use it—she's probably too busy—but I think it would make her smile and remind her of what she's fighting for (the humans).
Oh, but if she just receives this in the story (and I'm not canon), I would give her a pot of the flowers that Calla grew for her at Alluveterre. It would make her sad, but I think she would appreciate it a lot (and it would help her sleep). And maybe having something to take care of would be good for her mental health, you know?
17. Which species do you find the most interesting?
Hard question!! But my instinctive answer is alicorns. There's so much backstory there. I want to know how they went extinct, Silveny and Greyfell's pasts, and what it's like for Luna and Wynn growing up with no other alicorns. I want to know what it was like when there were hundreds, even thousands, of alicorns in the world—what would an alicorn society/herd have looked like?
Another thing: Aren't they kind of like an intelligent species? But then again, all animals have language; it's just that alicorns may be the only ones to grasp the Enlightened Language so fully. Why can they do that? And how will it affect their future?
Man, I love them.

I quit.
Summary: Jackie was a harvester for Velocity Intelligence, gathering resources from barren planets. When one of her assigned worlds isn't as empty as reported, will she be able to continue her mission?
A short story based on a poem that I was meant to write for English, it got very out of hand very quickly haha
Word count: 625
Featuring art at the bottom!
Jackie stared ahead at the planet she was supposed to land on, frowning. Her eyes tracked across the animals roaming the surface, the information file clenched tightly in her hand.
“Nora, this planet was supposed to be baren.”
“Correct. At the last observation, there was no life on Planet JX1. I will now update our system’s files.” N.O.R.A, the ship’s AI, paused for a few moments before continuing. “Systems updated.”
Jackie nodded in acknowledgement, lost in thought. She’d been a harvester with Velocity Intelligence for most of her life, having joined as soon as she’d been able in an attempt to escape her parents, and she’d never had a reason to quit.
Her job was simple, land on a planet, set up the machines to pull the resources out of the ground, and haul it all back to the factories. Occasionally her missions would be delayed because of fights over the territory, (which never made sense to her, Velocity owned everything, there were no rival companies,) but there was never any life by the time she was cleared to land.
Gaze drifting back to the animals, (and forcing herself to get over her shock that there even were animals,) she looked closer at what they were doing. They resembled large goats, though they had no horns and were much larger than any back on earth, shaggy coats a greenish grey. Fur trailed from their heads all the way down their backs in spikes, the tips various bright shades of colours.
She chuckled slightly as one of the smaller ones, fur floppy and covering its eyes, tripped over its own feet and let out what she could only assume was an indignant bleat.
“I have received orders from command,” Nora said suddenly, breaking Jackie out of her thoughts. “The mission is to proceed as scheduled.”
“Wha- but there’s life down there!” Jackie protested, jumping to her feet. “We’re only supposed to harvest from empty planets!”
Nora’s robotic voice sounded almost regretful. “I am aware. I informed command that this was a breach of protocols, and they threatened to deactivate me.”
Anger rose in Jackie as she opened her mouth to respond, only for a message to appear on her screen.
Incoming call from: Mission Director Tristan
As the camera blinked on she automatically snapped into a salute, only to drop it with a scowl. She wasn’t going to respect the people so clearly going against everything she had been told about the company.
“Pilot. Why are you not continuing with your mission? You have your orders.”
“Because the orders are wrong,” she said firmly, fire in her eyes. “There’s life on that planet, I won’t drain it.”
Tristan scoffed, rolling his eyes. “They’re clearly a bunch of herbivores, they can’t hurt you. You’re either scared or soft, and either way you’re getting a pay cut unless you land right now.”
Jackie paled. She was barely meeting her expenses as it was, she couldn’t afford to earn any less. But then Tristan smirked like he’d won, and she made up her mind.
“Oh I’ll land alright.” She squared her shoulders, reaching up for the company logo on her jumpsuit. “But not to harvest the resources. I’m protecting that planet, whether you like it or not.”
“You’ll be fired if you don’t stop this resistance right now!”
Letting out a laugh, Jackie ripped off the logo and threw it to the ground.
“I’ll save you the trouble. I quit.”
She hung up, blocking the number when he tried to call back.
“I’d always wanted to be a researcher before I started working here,” Jackie hummed casually, turning away from the screen. “What do you say, Nora? Want to go discover a new species?”
“I thought you’d never ask.”
This is a Mowgo, the animals Jackie saw on the planet! Feel free to design your own, I just got way too invested coming up with them lol
(Thank you @ghosts-gone for the help!)
I'll maybe end up writing more for this universe, I definitely want to expand on Velocity, but it probably depends on class time to write
