HAIKYUU DADS HAVING A CAKE BAKED FOR THEM BY THEIR KIDS
Tumblr media
FEATURING: Bokuto, Suna , Oikawa , Iwaizumi,
Genre: Fluff, fluff and fluff.
A/N: I really don't like how it is executed but I am still gonna post this.
Tumblr media
▪️Bokuto (3 years old):
Bokuto had been lazing around in the living room since the afternoon. His insides were at warmth with the relief of not having to go to practice tomorrow. He propped his feet up at the couch heads and closed his eyes in content. Soon, his snores filled the whole room. This dual colour haired spiker had already dozed off. Meanwhile, you and your 3 year old daughter were already scurrying off to the kitchen. Taking out all the ingredients and preparing to bake a cake for the birthday boy, in order to wish him on 12 o’clock. He was oblivious of the little adventure you and your daughter seemed to have. She was a giggling mess as she helped her mom in cracking the eggs, sifting the flour and putting up little pieces of decorations. The cake was baked perfectly without any hindrance and you guys barely seemed to hold your excitement in. Bokuto as a dad , did more than you fathomed. His protectiveness for you and both of your daughter was praiseworthy. The playfulness he shows whenever his daughter hosts a tea party and invites him. The way he cages you and her in sleep and always gives the goodnight kisses just warms your heart. The way he peppered your face in kisses as you gave birth and to this date, praises you often as to how good of a mother you are. You ponder that this could be the least thing to do for this awesome man in your life.
The day rolled over to night time as Bokuto headed to your shared room and you on the pretext of cleaning up a little bit more, took out the cake from refrigerator and put an owl candle on top. You had taken you guys’ daughter with you so you were sure Bokuto would come to the living area to find you both. And he did.
The lights were dimmed as the roomed was flooded with the candle lights. Bokuto stopped dead in his tracks as he heard the sweetest melody of “Happy Birthday” coming from his wife and his daughter. Her daughter jumping in your lap and grinned ear to ear while exclaiming, “Happy Birthday, Dada. I made cake” and she clapped. Bokuto went up to hug both of you and you saw the tears cascading down his cheeks. He took his daughter in his lap and peppered her faces with kisses while muttering thank you every 2 seconds. His daughter seeing Bokuto in joyful tears, took her chubby hand and wiped his tears saying, “No more cry, dada”. You guys laugh as he says, “No tears” and pulls you close. He pecks your forehead and whispers,
“I love you guys so much. This is my best birthday ever".
▪️Suna (5 years old):
It was Saturday morning when you and your 5 year old daughter got the inspiration of baking a cake for Suna on Fathers Day and surprise him at midnight. Fortunately, your daughter inheriting you maturity and kept it quiet until Suna left for practice. You guys took a tour to the grocery store after lunch and bought the essentials for baking and got to work immediately. Suna was still at gym so you guys had a clear coast. You efficiently directed her to bake the little cupcakes as she insisted on baking it alone for her “Super Dada”. The main reason behind your little mission was Suna’s off demeanor. Your eyes had always caught Sunas face whenever your daughter preferred you over him. Whenever your daughter insisted you to read the bedtime story and wanted you to feed her. Suna being the naturally quiet person couldn’t help but brood over this. All these felt okay, even for him, since he often had big tournaments and matches, but soon enough his thoughts clouded over the fact that his daughter is purposely distancing herself from him and this was no less thing to scare Suna. He loved his little angel way too much. Yet, Suna had let this insecurity brew in himself and thought his daughter hates him. But you noticed and your heart squeezed sadly at this.
And what could be the perfect moment to cut his self destructive thoughts other than Fathers Day itself? Especially when his daughter loves her dada unconditionally and often lets him rest by not pestering him. The cupcakes were fully ready almost, with little decorations of volleyball and chocolate frosting. Little sprinkles and a volleyball shaped cake in middle with blue and yellow icing that your daughter handpicked herself. You looked at the cakes that couldn’t be more perfect and anticipation bubbled inside you at the thought of Sunas reaction. By evening, the cakes were put up in the freezer to solidify the icings and next was Sunas arrival. You knew he would be a bit late so you both finished dinner by the time he came. As Suna stepped into the threshold of his home, his daughter exclaimed “Welcomeee” with a tinkling laugh that warmed Sunas heart. She gave him a hug that seeped all the fatigue from his body.
He headed to his room , freshened up and laid down a bit. Today had indeed seemed long. As he stared at the ceiling, his eyes drooped and the room filled with his deep breath and occasional snores.
Suddenly some shaking woke him up as he rubs his eyes to see his daughter sitting atop him with a toothy smile.
“Dada, wake up and come on” she said as she jumped a with enthusiasm.
“What’s up, little angel? Is it morning already?” he asks with a little raspy voice from sleep. His daughter seemed more close to him today and this made him exuberant. She slipped down to the floor from his lap and padded her way to the hallway. Suna followed suit. Light was spilling from the hallway as he proceeded there. His eyes popped open.
There you were, standing in middle, holding a tray full of cakes. A beautiful smile etched on your face. You daughter ran and picked up a cake and moved towards Suna. He picked her up and she fed him the cake.
“You know, she made his for you. Without any help.” you said. He took your hand and pulled you close to himself. You side hug him. Bringing your mouth close to his ears, you whisper,
“She loves you dearly, Rin. More than anything”
Suna was almost to the verge of tears as he hugs you and his daughter tightly. His little family.
“Alright, angel. Time for sweets. Mumma can compromise the sweet tooth today what say?” He says while nosing her cheek. She giggles in response.
“Okie, Dada.”
▪️Oikawa (4 years old):
Oikawa had a busy schedule. Balancing his work life and personal life was not an easy feat. Not when you are a star volleyball player and also a husband and father of a 4 year old. His love for Volleyball was still the same. He was still the same. The undying passion driving him to overwork. You were there to keep him grounded but still there were days he would be busy from sunrise to sunset. At his own will.
It was a stifling hot time of July when he had woken up early for his practice. You were sleeping peacefully beside him. He got ready, kissed you on forehead. He passed his daughters room. Her hands above her head as she slept with her mouth open. He kissed her for a long time and departed, skipping breakfast. Forgetting amidst all the things that today was his birthday.
You had woken up shortly afterwards and seeing his absence, you felt a twinge of sadness for him. You were pretty sure he had forgotten his birthday today and you were right. Seeing him being this worked out induced something in you. You walked to you daughter to wake her up. You enthusiastically say,
“Princess, will you help me make a cake for dada? Wake up. Up. Up. Up.” you usher her as she sprang from her bed.
It was around midday when you guys started preparing the birthday cake. You decided to make it milkbread themed, seeing as its your daughters favourite too. Inheriting from her dad. You guys finished it around late afternoon and kept it frozen. Waiting for the setter to arrive home.
Meanwhile, Oikawa had visited gym, and was hoarded by tons of wishes and cheering. His mind suddenly clicking that it was his birthday. He remembers not meeting you nor his daughter and guilt crept up in him. He looks at his phone, you hadn’t called him today. Nor there were any messages from you.
He ponders whether you are angry or something. He wraps up the practice early and rushes to his home soon after evening.
He brings take away from his and your favourite restaurant as his treat and also a token of apology. He arrives home, which was empty. The kitchen was dark and so was the hallway. He gets a little nervous at this eerie silence. Soon this silence is cut off by the sweet Happy Birthday song coming from you and your daughter as you both hurtled yourselves in him. His face broke into a smile and he hugs you both. His daughter squealing in excitement at this joyous air. His insides were flooding with relief
“Daddy, daddy. I made cake with momma today.”
“Really? Did my princess grow up so big already?” he says while blowing raspberries in her bubbly cheek. She laughs in return and you chuckle at their antics.
You tug his hand to bring him to the living room and there it was,
Decorations hanging from ceiling and a “Happy Birthday Toru” banner hanging behind a table. The table had a cake which was designed as milkbread and little marshmallows in one bowl and surrounding the cake. His chest swelled in pride at what his daughter did for him.
Oikawa brings out his phones and starts clicking pictures of both the decorations and cake, small videos of his daughter and himself as he brags to the world, how amazing of a daughter he has. You stand in a corner as you mockingly exclaim,
“You know Toru, I helped too” smiling as he looks at you wide eyed. “no, its only daddy- daughter time, go away”. You scoff as he pulls you close to him.
“And world, this is my wife, who brought this little angel to life and gave me the best present ever”
You smile serenely at how content he looks after such a tiring day. He dives in for the cake with his daughter, as if he turned to the same age as her.
You look at them happily when Oikawa again broke the comfortable silence,
“Babe, I am thinking of taking a day off tomorrow and lets go somewhere for a drive and picnic, shall we? Its my treat” You lit up at his statement and exclaim exuberantly,
“Sure, Toru. God, I love you. I was about to say that. You have been working way too hard these days” you chirp up.
“Tomorrow it is then, but now lets eat the meal I bought”
The evening was pretty colorful for Toru.
▪️Iwaizumi (3 years old):
It has been 3 years since Iwaizumi Hajime became a father. And in these three years , he left no complain for anyone towards him, as a role of a Dad. He has been the amazing husband and even more amazing father you could have ever wished for your daughter. Spoiling her with everything, bringing gifts and chocolates. Being her play partner and taking part in pestering you together.
Amidst all the roles he plays, you realise he is not reverting back to the old Iwaizumi. The Iwaizumi who loved going out with his friends, no matter how irked he looked. The Iwaizumi who would go for random dates. The Iwaizumi who would binge watch Godzilla movies all day long , because that is replaced by Paw Petrol and dates converted to little tea parties your 3 year old daughter has. Not that it is something you and he complains about but understanding and knowing him inside out, you know, he misses those things somedays. You do too. He had been feeling down and this caught your attention. You felt dejected for him, wanting to do something to lift this heavy feeling from him.
And not to mention the increased added pressure his work now possess, often has him coming home and fall limp straight over you, snoring loudly. This was a similar night like this. His body was draped over you as he nuzzled in your neck and you were combing your hand through his hair. The epiphany suddenly hit you that tomorrow is Father’s Day. Well, today, as the clock stated its 12:30 a.m. Hajime had work even tomorrow and this was perfect for you to surprise him. You brought your phone close to you and saw a perfect cake for him. Even better, a perfect person to do this. You smile as you wrap yourself around him more securely and drift of to sleep.
The next morning, Hajime kissed you and his daughter before going out.
“Bye, little mochi.” he said while leaving. You daughter continued playing as you crouch down before her and say,
“Wanna help me surprise daddy, mochi?” you say. You daughter eyes you curiously as you pick her up and head outside. As planned, you buy the ingredients and return home. Your daughter squealing happily at her moms new endeavor. You let her do the work and shoot a video of it for Hajime. Occasionally , ushering your daughter to say something to the camera, targeted for her dad.
Finally, some toddler disaster later, the cakes were perfectly baked and ready to present.
Hajime arrived that evening. You guys were sitting stiffly on the sofa, waiting for his arrival. He opens the door and finds you both hurtling towards him. A grin split into his face at this warm welcome. You guys take out the cake and bring it to Hajime, he sits on the table while placing your daughter in his lap. The video you shot earlier was being played. He looked at that in awe as he saw his daughter mentions him often, saying.
“For you, dadaa” she chirps up.
You can see Hajimes eyes welling up as he holds his little girl more firmly in his grasp. You put your head against his shoulders. As the video ended, you mumble,
“How was it Hajime? He remains silent. Just holding on to his little girl and watching the baked coconut cake. His face set into a line of happiness as he interlocks one of his hands with yours and say,
“I am beyond lucky to have you both, my love”
“No, Hajime. We are lucky to get you in our life. So to show how much we appreciate you holding onto us, we are giving you a full free day with your friends. I know coach will agree on one day leave. Also, Oikawa is in town as well.”
He looks at you. Awe mixed with incredulity at your actions. He leans over to kiss you passionately.
"I would spend ny days with you two, babe" he says as his daughter now tries to feed him the cake.
"No Haji. Tomorrow is your day. Please spend this to your hearts content and be a youngster again. You'll have the whole life to be a dad, you know."
“And you wonder why you are the best wife on this entire fucking planet?”
“Haji, your daughter is right in front of you, you know” you mumble against his lips as your daughter looks at both of you with doe eyes. Curious on what her dad says.
You guys laugh at her expression before devouring on the delicious cake.
A perfect little bubble of happiness enclosing you three.

The Day | Kageyama Tobio
Category: fluff
2.4k words; 22/12/1996: A star is born
This is so late ;^; sorry baby AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Tumblr media
His hand reaches for his phone before it has a chance to belt out its usual alarm song, the one Kageyama hates so much. It’s overly rambunctious, uses way too many unnecessary instruments and the lyrics means nothing. Therefore making it quite perfect as an alarm.
A notification with your name greets him and a smile crawls up his face automatically. A tap reveals messages written in all caps with an abundance of gifs. Wiggling further into his blanket to retain heat against the winter air, he slowly reads through your texts and a soft warmth blooms from inside his chest.
The timestamp shows that you sent it at exactly midnight. He can see you on your phone, staring at the time until the second it became the 22nd. It was in the morning for you, he remembers, and you said you have an important meeting today. He wonders if it’s going well, since you stressed a lot about it, moaning “What if he doesn’t like it…” or “What if something goes wrong…” He tried his best to cheer you up but being halfway around the world makes it sort of difficult.
Starting off the day with your enthusiastic and endearing congratulations makes his birthday one of the most special days to him.
Kageyama's birthday didn't really mean anything before you came. It was the day he was born, sure, but that's more of his mother's effort than him. He appreciated gifts once he started getting them and the messages as well. But it was you who made him realise that it is a day to be celebrated.
Tumblr media
"You don't know why people celebrate birthdays?" You asked him that after his first birthday party with all of his friends and acquaintances. Despite a lot of people thinking he's tactless, Kageyama does understand gratitude and when to keep quiet. Or at least he's getting better at it. That's why he waited until everyone had left, leaving only you and him in his apartment.
"It's just another day." A weak argument, he knew, but that's just what he felt. It's one day out of 365 per year.
Your lips pursed and a sudden panic washed over him, dousing him with the sudden realisation of what he said. You and everyone else spent time and effort to pull this up for him, and he's basically just said that it makes no difference to him. Kageyama can hear phantom squeaks as the vice around his heart clamped down hard, and he probably deserved it. Definitely deserved it.
Scratch his thinking of mastery over tact, he hadn't even gone over the first small hill.
You stood there, silent, and his fingers twitched in an impulse to gather your hands in his and apologise until he ran out of breath or things to say. Even that wasn't enough. Kageyama's mind raced to find words to explain his thoughts, to explain how appreciative he was of this party and how sorry he was for even saying that. Even thinking that.
But you beat him to the punch, stepping in front of him and leaning forward until your head dropped lightly against his chest. His hand immediately found your waist to stabilise you but the rest of his body was something akin to a statue, rock-solid and not even breathing.
He braced himself for the anger and lecture you were going to give. He most definitely deserved it, being so ungrateful and dismissive of your efforts. You could scream at him until you lost your voice and hit him as much as you wanted to and he wouldn't be able to say anything. You've never gotten angry or even raised your voice at him, but this was looking like the perfect opportunity for the first time.
Leave it to me to mess up my relationship on my birthday.
"Well, it is just another day." You mumbled, rubbing your forehead against his chest. That was not what he expected to come out of your mouth. “One out of 365, sometimes 366. But it’s so much more than that, to me at least.” You peered up at him, lips curled into a soft smile and he had to resist the urge to lean down.
“To others, it might mean nothing. Just the winter solstice. Or maybe an anniversary. Or the day a loved one passed away. Or the day they met their partner.” You stood on your tiptoes, even with him leaning down, head knocking gently against his. “But to me, it’s the day someone I love the most in my life came into the world.”
Soft puffs of breath were exhaled against his lips every time you spoke, your gentle voice kind and loving, so much so that he thought he could melt there and then.
“On this day, 20 years ago, a wonderful person was born. The best person I know. You were born to be loved, to love, to carve out your own path in life—and you did that, Mr Youngest-National-Team-Member! Look at where you are! You held onto your lifelong ambition of a volleyball player that started when you were just a little toddler, munching away on a volleyball with your barely-grown teeth. I have photos.” He blushed, regretting the day he showed you his childhood photo album. You laughed delightedly, and it was like bell chimes in his ear.  “And now you sit at the top of the world, with everyone in awe of your strength and passion. You receive love and adoration all over the world for your accomplishments, for who you are, and I could not be more proud of you. And it’s all thanks to this day. To the one in a trillion chance that the universe decided to create you. “I know your birthdays never quite meant anything to you, and that’s okay. Just let us, all of your friends and families, show how much you mean to us. How much you mean to me. I love you so much, and I love this day because it’s the day the greatest gift in my life was created. That’s why I celebrate it. That’s why we all celebrate it.”
You finished off your speech with a boop on his nose, giggling at his starstruck face. “So happy birthday, Kageyama Tobio, wonderboy and a gift to humanity.”
He mulled over your words, digesting each and every one of them. And every single one of them was nothing but the complete truth from you, echoing from the bottom of your heart and overflowing with love. A soft and grateful smile slowly formed as he closed the distance between his lips and yours, a sensation similar to melting taking over his entire body as he drowned in this perfect moment.
Tumblr media
All of his teammates wish him a happy birthday, which he replies with a soft “Thank you” before turning to practice. Some of them asked if he would take the day off, seeing as it’s his birthday after all. He could go out, enjoy the sights, eat some new food or try whatever catches his fancy. But he politely declined, saying there wasn’t much to do anyway. Mostly because you’re not by his side.
It’s a shame you’re not here, but he can’t do much about it. Neither can you. He’s currently halfway across the world and you have a work-life as well. You can’t just drop everything and fly for hours and hours just for him, no matter how bad he misses you. Kageyama is filled with jealousy and selfishness when it comes to you, but he doesn’t want to make you suffer for it. No, he’ll just have to make do with the loving, adorable messages you sent him and hopefully a call as soon as you’re available.
You fretted over the disappointment of not being present on his birthday for the first time since you started dating him, even when he said it was okay. It wasn’t really okay, because he wanted to spend the whole day with you, preferably lazing around on the bed with you tucked into his embrace, enjoying each other’s company with no one else.
“Did she wish you a happy birthday?” Hoshiumi pops up next to him and Kageyama nearly yelps in surprise. He was too deep in his thoughts and didn’t realise his surroundings. Instead, he quickly calms his heart and nods, showing him the multiple messages you sent him. Hoshiumi’s eyes skim over them and laughs, “Your girlfriend is cute!” and Kageyama can’t help but nod in earnest. You’re probably the cutest thing the world has the fortune of having. His teammates face crinkles and he realises he said it aloud. It doesn’t matter because it’s the truth. Hoshiumi’s face scrunches further.
Training is finished by lunch to let all of them have half a day off, even though most of them will just stay in the hotel. A plan forms in Kageyama’s head: to crawl back into his soft bed to video call you as soon as he can. He never experienced back-to-back meetings for hours but they sound like hell. Hopefully you can destress while talking to him and he’ll have something so keep him happy for the rest of the day. It’s a brilliant plan.
Which everyone promptly ruins by following him to his room.
He looks back at them, questions marks forming over his head as his shifting eyes silently ask “Can I help you?” and Hirugami answers with a smile indicating “Nope, go into your room. We’re not being suspicious at all.” Or something along those lines. Kageyama thinks he’s gotten better at reading facial expressions and social cues. He wonders if you would be proud of him.
A quick key swipe unlocks his door and pitch-black welcomes him. Which is weird since he left the curtains open when he left for training. The team shuffles in behind him and he then realises that they planned this, something like a surprise party. They did it for everyone else when it was their birthday. Do I… have to play along? He probably has to, since everyone went to the trouble of doing this.
The lights flicker on and Kageyama’s brows quirk at the sight. He expected the decorations and banners with balloons since that’s what happened at everyone else, but what he didn’t expect are the mountains of presents everywhere. Some of them reach to the ceilings and he can see at least 5 piles, all covered in various either Christmas or birthday wrappings.
He turns back to the team just in time for confetti and strings to fly into his face with an ensemble of pops and screams of “Happy birthday!!” A laugh escapes him and he feels joy bubbling through his insides.
“They’re all sent from your fans!” Nicholas indicates to the piles. “We had to sneak them in. So hard since there’s so many! Deve ser bom ser famoso.” Kageyama’s hands skim over some of them, overwhelmed by the amount and the thoughts. Everyone pats him on the head or gives him a slap on the back, teasing him about how nice it must be to receive so much. And it is. He’s so grateful for every single one of them, but the biggest thought in his head is how much better it would be if you’re here, by his side. He wants to run over to his laptop and connect to you, to show you the spectacle before him. He wants to open every single one of them with you.
“Ah, the cake is coming! Kageyama, cake, cake!” But maybe later, after he’s spent time with his teammates. You always said to show gratitude. Hoshumi drags him to the centre of the room while everyone stands behind.
Before he can ask what they’re doing, a small voice singing the birthday song travels down the hallway. Kageyama freezes instantly because he recognises the voice, and everyone else snickers at his reaction. His eyes fly over everyone, who just responds by either winking or smiling. A weird sensation takes over his body, like his heart is thudding in his mouth or somewhere in his throat, as the voice grows closer and closer.
A flicker of flame appears first past the doorway, followed by the cake. Your face pops in, smiling joyfully, and Kageyama swears his heart stops. His hands tremble by his side, lips quivering in disbelief and ecstasy because you’re here. In front of him.
“Happy birthday to you~” You stop in front of him, cake in your arms and nothing but adoration in your eyes. The team claps and cheers behind him, but he can barely hear them. All of his senses focus on you, standing less than a metre away from him after weeks of being apart.
He wants to hug you, crush you in his embrace and bury himself in your body, in your scent and your love. He wants to shower you with kisses and spill out his heart in the form of words, cover you with them until you fall from embarrassment. He wants this moment to be just you and him, away from everything in the world like his first birthday party.
But he just stands there, unable to do any of them, feeling his chest swell and his eyes sting. The outlines of his sight turn hazy and your exclamation of surprise isn’t enough to break him out of his stupor.
Your arms wrap around him, cake gone somewhere, and he nearly crumbles right then and there. A combination of his friends’ shouts of “Don’t cry!” and you faint giggles makes him laugh as well.
Kageyama thinks he must be a mess; rivulets of tears are flowing down his cheeks, ears red with embarrassment and small hiccups are the only things that come out of his mouth, rather than confessions of love and repetitions of thank you after you travelled all this way for him.
But he opens his eyes when you delicately wipe away all his tears, and he’s greeted with nothing but gentle fondness shining on your face, like you’re cherishing this moment to keep for the rest of your life. You grace him with another smile, leaning up to press a soft kiss onto his lips.
“Happy birthday, baby. The whole world is sending their love to you.”

Ok time 2 get serious
On my website I am copying and pasting from there to here to tell you what's been happening with me for the few weeks I haven't been active:Sorry it’s been a while since I last posted anything but let’s just say its been quite an ordeal for us Marchbank’s. Some friends and family know about it and the year we have had hasn’t been easy for any of us. I have been effected by it like we all have since anyone that we know that has heard about it. I have a hole in my heart from losing my grandpa a while ago now but still recent and raw for all of us. I have been crying on and off now but since it happened everyday including the lead up to Saturday because it happened on Saturday sometime in January I have been messed up ever since even as messed to go to a psychologist it is helping but I have yet to heal i might have more to struggle with in life that’s coming for me I have my dance work starting up again soon. I might get more effected then by it but also have to keep dancing without having a grandpa to turn to tell him I am still dancing it will be the hardest time but somehow I want to convey the pain and hurt I’m feeling into the work I am working on also someone else wants to work with me and we are building something together something to do with TRUST which I am really looking forward to. I also have had my birthday and now I am 27 years old now and that's another sad moment in time because I didn't get a hug and a present from him and he won't be around to do so in the years to come in life we had to bury his ashes net to his wife my grandma Gwendolyn "Benny" Frearson now they can soar together today another week starts Monday. Today I have done my morning routine that should include a workout which I did at home because let's just say my chocolate/ screaming for any food at all stage of being a girl "oh the joy" housework and hanging out with my family and looking after mum lazing around the house and cooking tuna patties with mum then went home to lash out on food I was screaming for because I hadn't had any food since lunch had a nap then had a lot more food including dinner had Indian didn't really like the chickpeas at all so all i had was chicken and nutrigrain bar watching ANT Farm oh yeah I have a new obsession "new artist" but this one is actress/singer China Anne McClain she has acted in a number of movies Tv Shows:
ANT Farm which I am still re watching,
Tumblr media
Descendants: Wicked World
JONAS
Tyler Perry House of Payne,
Sing Your Face Off
Paynes
Veggie tales
K-Love Superstars
Black Lightning which I am currently still re-watchingI have been listening on repeat and watching on repeat every Disney Tv show on Disney + and soundtrack she is featured in. I have been learning and mastering Young Guns for singing lesson including the rap from The Messenger but I'm convinced its Gabriel McClain her brother rapping in the song. Another highlight popped in my mail just now that me and Talitha someone I met while working together in our first Dance Film Workshop we clicked right away and knew that we are the friends that we are now our own family she invited me to a open rehearsal at the beach a while ago Annette came with me and now wanting to work together it's meant to be so I really hope we get it i would be like jumping up and down inside out when we both find out. The time now is 5:39 and just having my dried out grapes for afternoon tea now and when it's 6pm dinner time until 6:50 I'm going to have the rest of my dried out fruit, spinach and an apple not a solid meal but it might knock my weight down let's see mum told me in her serious tone about how worried she is about my weight and how I was at risk of diabetes a long time ago with my hyperthyroid problem and will have to inject myself into oblivion in the present day to manage everything along with the life stresses along with my loss of my grandfather is weighing down on me mentally, emotionally and physically which has my weight gone flying up again I'm not this person. I'm the kind of person who would have a say and say NO and be good like how I used to be fit and vigour and ready for anything not the girl who is down and depressed with the loss of her grandfather I guess I will just have to sit with it until I get there in the end and be that person again and I will forget that girl ever existed throw her to the sharks but for now just enjoying and basking in the limelight of life waiting for a job to come along because Mum and I are applying and finding more work for me to keep me busier in the days of the weeks so my life is more balanced to not rely on people to hangout with me everyday which I am still doing now until then. Read from the beginning/where it’s originally posted here
Story description: They say curiosity killed the cat. But it cando a whole lot more than that. [In which Marinette falls into an unfamiliar place with strange inhabitants.]
Chapter description: Marinette meets one of Chat’s most precious friends, and Chat gets roasted more than once.
Rated: T (because there’s some violence that may not be suited for some audiences.. this chapter is really tame save for a panic attack that character has at the end)
Chat was silent for a while after they left Nathaneal’s, not even commenting when Marinette broke away from his side to touch a save point, though he did seem to stiffen a little. Marinette wasn’t uncomfortable with the silence. It wasn’t something heavy, and when she looked over at him, the little crease between his eyebrows told her he was only thinking hard about something.
Just as they were nearing a shop, Chat stopped them, his hand tightening his hand on hers. “I know that you intend to stick to your crazy plans of saving the Underground,” he started, looking her in the eyes. The tone and sound of his voice was careful, as if he had carefully chosen each word before speaking them. “Before I say anything else, I want you to tell me how you plan to do that.”
Marinette thought for a second, biting her lip. In her dream, the woman had said to just continue her path of forward, and considering she had said that their goals were now the same, she might as well mean that Marinette’s supposed to be doing that to save the Underground. Which is sort of what she wanted to do anyway. Go forward, find a way for everyone to be satisfied. She didn’t think Chat would accept such a vague answer, though, so she decided to call upon the advice Tikki had given her what seemed like so long ago.
“A friend I once knew told me the best way to solve conflicts was to talk it out.”
A smile twitched on Chat’s face before disappearing completely, and Marinette wondered if she had imagined it. “So you plan to walk into the palace, go straight to King Plagg, and give him a stern talking to?”
“I imagine it’ll be more of a two-way conversation than a talking to, but sure. That’s the plan.”
He let out a sigh that almost sounded like a laugh. “Yeah, that’s what I thought.” Bringing her scarred hand up to his lips, he gave her knuckles a light kiss before looking back up at her. “I’ll help you, Marinette, and I’ll protect you so that you can talk your way out of everything.”
“But you still think it’s crazy.”
“Oh, I know it’s crazy.”
She pushed his face away from her hand, giving his hair a light ruffle. “Thanks, Chat.”
His throat made a small noise that sounded like purring as her fingers ran through his hair, and Marinette pulled her hand away, giving Chat a surprised look. Chat’s eyes widened, and he cleared his throat, looking away from her.
“Anyway,” he said, his voice cracking a little. “This shop is run by an old friend. We should go in to pay him a little visit so I can introduce you, and also stock you up on some food.”
When they walked into the shop, Marinette was so surprised by the most human-looking akuma she had ever seen, that she stopped walking.
Behind the front counter stood an old man, totally normal in appearance except for a bright red and very tacky Hawaiian style tourist shirt and a large turtle shell on his back. As for the aura he gave off…
Marinette had never really felt an aura around akumas, and she had no idea if what she was feeling truly was an aura, but it felt so unbelievably powerful that it took her breath away. The power seemed to roll off the serenely smiling old man, and the combination of unfamiliar sights and feelings made her stop by the door, completely motionless.
“Hey, Fu,” Chat said, immediately walking up to the counter to lean on it. “How’s it going? This is my friend – what’s wrong?” he asked, finally noticing Marinette’s frozen figure still by the door.
Finally, she shook off her alarm enough to walk closer. Though she was still wary of the man that Chat had called ‘Fu.’ “Nothing,” she said, eyeing Fu to try and figure out why he felt so different from other akumas. There was of course the flow of energy practically suffocating Marinette, but she found that if she tried to not to think about it, it wouldn’t be so bad. But his appearance also seemed off. Normally, akumas resembled humans to an extent, but there was always something big that differentiated the two.
The only thing about Fu was his turtle shell.
Fu seemed to notice Marinette’s careful scrutiny, though he didn’t seem bothered by it. “Hello. You’re a new face, aren’t you?”
“I’m new here,” Marinette said, feeling the magical power of Fu roll off him in waves as she stepped closer to him.
“Well, I’m sure that by now you’ve already seen a lot of the Underground, but welcome to the Underground,” he said, smiling at her. “I trust Chat has not been too much of a nuisance?”
Chat scowled at him. “Why are you always like this with my friends?”
“No, he’s been a nuisance,” Marinette said, and Fu laughed. Chat looked at her in betrayal.
“I’m not sure I expected anything else, to be quite honest.” He paused, looking over Marinette with a gleam in his eye that she wasn’t sure if she was comfortable with. “But I definitely didn’t expect to see a human so far deep in the Underground in this sort of age. You deserve a hearty congratulations.”
Marinette blinked. So far, the other akumas she’d actually had a conversation with hadn’t seemed to notice that she was human. Fu knew right off the bat.
“Who are you?” she asked, unable to stop herself from taking a step back.
“A friend,” Fu promised. “I didn’t mean to alarm you.”
“Well, you did, and I’m very alarmed.”
Chat stepped in between her and Fu, his hands held out to her like he was trying to calm a panicked animal. Marinette glared at him. “Bug, there’s nothing to be suspicious about. Fu’s one of my closest friends” – he casted a pointed look back at Fu – “though sometimes he’s too upfront with what he knows or figures out.”
“Excuse me for being suspicious,” Marinette said, still not convinced enough to stop being angry and sounding more than a little sarcastic and rude, “but most of the time when people know I’m human, they try to kill me.”
“Fu’s not like that,” Chat soothed. “He’s too old to fight anything.” Marinette heard Fu laugh a little. She still wasn’t convinced.
“If it makes you feel a little better,” Fu interjected, peeking out from behind Chat, “I’ve been here for a very long time. Before the king decided to implement the ‘hating humans’ plans, an idea I was and still am much opposed to.”
Marinette stepped out to see Fu better, still giving him a wary glare. “How’d you know I was human?”
“I’m a smart man,” Fu said with a shrug. “And I’ve heard some news that the palace has found and is trying to locate a human wearing spots.” He tapped an ear as he said this, and Marinette wondered if he was referring more to her earrings than her sweater. “It also makes sense that Chat would bring you here, since he always introduces new friends to me.”
“How’d you know I’d be his friend?”
“Chat likes to get into trouble, and making friends with a human is a great way to get in trouble.”
“You make me sound so bad,” Chat interrupted. Marinette noticed that he didn’t deny it.
“Okay,” Marinette said, finally relaxing, if only a small amount. “Sure. I trust you. A little.”
Fu observed her still tightly wrung posture, the way her fists clenched and unclenched, the way her feet shifted back and forth, as if ready at that very second to run. “Perhaps,” he said, watching as her eyes bored into him, “it would help to converse over a cup of tea.”
“It’s really great tea,” Chat offered, his eyes pleading with Marinette to relax, for goodness’ sake. “Calms you down.”
Marinette didn’t take long to decide what she wanted to do, but that didn’t mean that she liked it all that much. Fu lead the two of them to a back door of his small shop which opened up to a small cave-like dwelling that was neat and orderly, if somewhat cramped.
It seemed like the entire home was all in one room, and everything looked to be sort of squished together, but it seemed very lived in. Despite the fact that Marinette was still on edge from the power emanating from Fu, she still found somewhere inside her to observe the surroundings with a fond feeling nudging at her gut.
There was a small wooden dining table pushed right up to the edge of the kitchen counter tops, and Marinette heard the scream of an overheating tea kettle. The scent of the house was something warm and herb-like. There were gemstones embedded into the uneven walls.
Fu rushed to the tea kettle, maneuvering easily around the furniture, and gestured for Chat and Marinette to sit. Chat sat down first, looking a lot more at ease than Marinette, who remained standing and watched as Fu gathered three mismatched cups and began pouring the hot water into them.
“Can I ask why you’re upset, Marinette?” Chat asked, his voice low and sincere as he tugged on Marinette’s hand to try and get her to sit. She conceded after a moment, still keeping her hand on Chat’s.
“I’m not upset,” Marinette said, her voice slow as she tried to place what exactly it was she was feeling. “I just feel very overwhelmed? On edge? There’s something about your friend that makes little alarms go off in my head,” she said, tearing her eyes away from Fu as he took out a box full of tea bags and carefully chose three different ones to put in the cups.
Chat thought for a moment. “I’ve been around Fu for as long as I remember, so I can’t exactly understand what you’re feeling.” His teeth worried at his bottom lip as he thought for a moment. “But I do know that Fu isn’t the average… akuma.”
Marinette didn’t fail to notice the pause before Chat called Fu an akuma. She didn’t comment on it.
“He’s very old, and he’s very powerful,” he continued. “I don’t think akumas tend to mind so much since they can feel magic all the time, but for a human inexperienced with such potent sort of power, I suppose it could be overwhelming. But he’s not going to hurt you. That much is a promise.”
Fu carefully held all three cups in arms, performing an almost impressive balancing act as he carried them to the table. He distributed the cups to Marinette and Chat, handing Chat a plain black mug with what looked like cat whiskers on it and Marinette a delicate looking tea cup with a pink cherry blossom design reminiscent of Chinese-style artistry.
“As always,” Fu said, regarding Chat with a crooked smile as he took a sip from his own mottled green cup, “you’re not as good at whispering as you think you are.” Marinette stiffened. “Take a page from Marinette’s book,” he said, giving her a wink.
“Leave me alone, old man. It’s just because you can recognize my voice.”
“It’s also because your voice still cracks like you’re a pubescent teenager.”
“Does not!” Chat exclaimed, his voice cracking as he said those words.
Marinette found herself snorting a little as she toyed with the handle of the tea cup, her eyes flicking over to Chat’s horrified and offended expression. “Apparently it does.”
“You’re supposed to be on my side,” Chat pouted.
“I’ll be on whatever side I please.”
Fu’s eyes twinkled as he regarded Marinette once more, but there seemed to be an edge there as well. Marinette wondered what she had done to put it there. “As for what you two were so conspicuously whispering about, I must say that Chat is right on all accounts.”
“A rarity,” Marinette commented. Chat gaped at her.
“Indeed.” Chat sunk low in his seat, giving both Fu and Marinette looks. Neither of them paid attention to him. Fu continued without a hitch. “I am old. I am powerful, if I do say so myself. To people who have been around me for a long period of time or akumas with magic as an everyday experience, the extra magic energy inside me doesn’t bother anyone.”
“I fall under both of those categories,” Chat interjected. “You fall under neither.”
“But I’ve been around magic for a long period of time,” she said, taking a sip of the  tea and finding it to taste almost like chamomile, but with a hint of something sweeter. It seemed to calm her down a bit. “Granted, not as long as everyone else here, but still enough to be experienced with it, right?”
Chat brought his mug up to his mouth, taking a sip and making a face. He shot a glare at Fu before turning to Marinette. “Honestly, it isn’t so much about how long you’ve been around it. Humans who’ve been able to take on Fu’s stupid amount of power really have just been in the presence of magic for some of it to seep inside them. The magic’s a part of them, even if they don’t realize it.”
“But I have-” She stopped herself, tightening her grip on the tea cup in her hands and looking at Chat helplessly.
“I’m very much aware that you have SOUL inside you,” Fu said gently, reaching over the table to lay a light hand over hers. He and Chat shared a look that seemed to be filled with unspoken confirmations, and she glanced between them confusedly. “I was able to sense it the moment you walked in.”
Marinette looked down at Fu’s hand over hers, and she lowered the tea cup, not making moving her hand away from Fu’s grasp. “If you understand that much, then surely you must be as confused as me? I have a SOUL inside me, and that’s pure magic, right? It’s a part of me.”
Fu leaned back, taking his hand away from Marinette’s and stroking his beard thoughtfully. “To me, it’s seems as though it’s untapped power in you.” He paused, seeming to examine her a little more. “When Chat and I described the humans with magic in them, we were referring to magic that they use, no matter how small. Little magical actions caused from exposure to magic often don’t get noticed enough.”
“Magic is an emotional force,” Chat said, swirling the tea in his mug absently. “Humans who’ve had magic come into them without their knowledge can sometimes have their emotions lead their lives a little more than how they were previously. Sometimes they’ll perform little magics without realizing it. They’re not akumas, but one breakdown, and they will be.”
“And you’re saying… I’m not like that?”
Chat looked at her, the weight of his gaze taking her breath away for a split second. “Definitely not.”
“You’re aware of the fact that there’s magic inside you and how deeply connected to it you are,” Fu said, taking a sip from his own mug. “But it seems like you’ve never used this power in any way.” He paused, and Marinette got the feeling he knew more than he was saying. “You have it inside you, and that’s it.”
“Which is a good thing,” Chat muttered.
“So you’re saying that if I had used more magic, I wouldn’t be so affected by you?” she asked, and both Chat and Fu nodded. “I’m not sure if that’s good or bad,” she admitted after a moment. “I don’t even know how to use magic.”
“Good,” Chat said with a very sure nod of his head. “If you don’t know how to use it, that means that you’ve never let it get to you. It takes years to learn how to properly wield it without getting too emotional or having it affect you in a negative way. Even then, it’s still extremely difficult to put a wall between your own emotions and the force that manifests your emotions into power.”
“You seem as though you’re speaking from experience,” Marinette said, eyeing Chat for his reaction.
He only shrugged. “Fu’s old enough to share a millennium’s worth of stories, and every akuma has to go through therapy, remember? It’s to teach them how to use magic in a way that doesn’t get to them.”
Fu looked between Chat and Marinette before setting a moment’s worth of a disappointed gaze at Chat. He turned back to Marinette, and she wondered if she had just imagined it. “I’m sure you came into my shop looking for something in particular, and now that the serious conversation is out of the way, I’d be more than happy to help.”
“I wasn’t looking for anything in particular,” Marinette said with a shrug. “Just maybe some food? I’m running a bit low.”
“Hm,” Fu hummed, tapping a finger to his chin. “I normally sell old junk, so I’m not sure how much I can help you with that sort of thing.”
“You could make something,” Chat suggested. “I would recommend your crab apple.” He turned to Marinette. “It looks like a crab.”
“That’s a wonderful idea!” Fu exclaimed, and he got up from the table to buzz excitedly around the kitchen, collecting ingredients Marinette would never have expected for just an apple.
Marinette turned to Chat. “Where do we go after this?” she asked, watching as Chat took a sip of his tea and once again made a face at it. “And what’s in that tea that’s making your face like that?”
Chat set down his mug, pushing it away from him. “Fu likes jokes. I made fun of his tea once and he never gave me actual tea ever again.” He glanced into the mug warily. “I think this is a blend of cat nip, dirt, and sprinkles.” He stuck out his tongue, rubbing it fiercely on his glove. “Maybe a bit of dog residue.”
She gave him a look. “There’s no way that’s true.”
“Do you want to taste it?” he asked, offering the mug to her. She caught a glimpse of small particles of something she couldn’t identify floating around in it.
Just as she was about to take the mug from Chat to prove a point, Fu spoke up from the kitchen. “Ah, Marinette, I think it would be best to drink only from your own mug. You wouldn’t want cat germs, now would you?”
Chat scowled in the general direction of Fu, still offering the mug to Marinette.
“Fu’s right,” Marinette said, grinning cheekily at him. “I think I’d rather not have cat germs.”
He once again set the mug down and pushed it away from him. “I’m always the butt of the joke here.”
“I just think you’re a butt in general.” Marinette heard Fu cackle, and she snorted a little at her own joke.
“What are you, a second grader?” Chat demanded, pouting more than a little.
“Maybe,” she said, sticking her tongue out at him.
“Anyway,” Chat said pointedly, trying to steer the conversation away from him. “After we leave here, I think the lantern area is next.” He thought for a moment. “There’s the ferry stop, but that guy is always way up in Hotland until someone hitches a ride back. Really there’s nothing interesting until we get through a couple more areas.”
“You’re supposed to be the overenthusiastic tour guide. Make it interesting.”
“Sweetheart, you expect too much from me.”
Fu walked back over to the dining table, holding a crab-shaped apple on a stick. The apple itself seemed to be covered in a lot of substances Marinette couldn’t recognize. “Oh,” Fu said, wrapping the apple in a sheet of plastic. “I didn’t know you two were involved that way,” he said, shooting a wink at an instantly red Marinette.
“Not yet, my friend,” Chat said, seemingly unaffected by the joke, rather relishing in it. “But in time.”
Marinette slapped his shoulder, fuming in her thoughts that maybe he was right and hating herself for it. “Not even in the next decade.”
“Then the one after that,” he said with a shrug, giving her an absurdly hot smile. “I’ll be counting down the minutes until then, bugaboo.”
“I hate you.”
“Young love sure is nice,” Fu said with a smile.
They chatted a bit longer before Fu finally led them to the front to where the shop was. Looking around, Marinette realized he had been telling the truth with what he had said earlier. There really was just a bunch of junk for sale on the shelves and counters.
She slipped her yo-yo back in her pocket from putting Fu’s crab apple inside, turning back to Fu. “I’m sorry with the way I acted earlier,” she apologized.
“No need for that,” Fu replied easily, waving away her apology. “I understand I can be a bit overwhelming to new people.”
Chat smiled before turned to Fu, his expression serious. “Has anyone come by to ask questions?” he asked, and Fu nodded grimly.
“Alya stopped by just before you two came along.” Marinette stiffened. “You must understand, though,” he said, turning to Marinette and giving her a pleading look, “Alya isn’t as bad as she seems.”
Marinette sighed. “So I’ve heard.”
“Why, I remember when she first arrived here, all filled with this childish wonder,” Fu continued, a fond look passing over his features. “Alya loves the Underground and the people in it. She’d do anything to protect it.” He paused, giving Marinette an apologetic glance. “I know that if the both of you were to talk, she’d come to care for you just as she does with everyone else here.”
“If only she’d take the time to talk.”
“I never said it would be easy. Alya’s extremely hot headed. It’ll take her a bit to cool down to finally realize how good of a person you truly are.”
“She’s got to cool down to warm up to you,” Chat said, almost to himself, and Marinette glanced over at him as he snorted a little at his own ‘joke.’ “But Fu’s right,” he said, clearing his throat. “I know Alya, and she’s really a nice person at heart.”
“I trust you both,” she said after a moment. “This isn’t something I’ve never heard before.”
“In the meantime, though,” Fu said, putting a hand on Marinette’s shoulder, “I would want to steer clear of her.” Marinette nodded. “Stay safe, Marinette. I know you’ll be able to accomplish what you want to.”
Surprisingly, Fu hugged her, and Marinette found herself hugging him back. “Keep your heart in the right place,” he whispered into her ear, and Marinette pulled away somewhat confused.
“I will,” she replied, although she wasn’t sure what he meant by it.
Fu turned to Chat, and they murmured a few things that Marinette couldn’t quite catch to each other before coming together in a tight and meaningful hug. Fu seemed to whisper something in Chat’s ear, and whatever it was seemed to mean a lot more than what he said to Marinette because Chat squeezed his eyes shut and buried his face in Fu’s shoulder.
The moment was something that Marinette felt like she was intruding on, and she turned away, somewhat uncomfortable.
After a moment, Fu and Chat pulled away from each other, and Chat came to stand by Marinette’s side. “See you soon, Fu,” Chat said, and Marinette saw there were tears glistening in his bright eyes.
“Be safe, you two,” Fu said, waving as they exited the shop.
Outside, Chat sniffed, pressing the heels of his hands into his eyes. Marinette stopped walking and made Chat stop, too, using one hand to push his hands away from his face and the other to cradle his cheek. “What’s wrong?” she asked, watching as Chat blinked fast and hard.
He took a deep breath and seemed to gather himself. He didn’t push Marinette away though, instead leaning into her hand. “Fu is… someone very precious to me. I always introduce him to people as my friend, but he really is more like a father to me.” He paused, and a said smile pulled at his lips. “He was there for me when I was going through a rough time, and he’s always known the right thing to say.”
Marinette traced her thumb over his cheekbone, smiling at him softly. “I’m glad I was able to meet someone who means so much to you.”
“Yeah,” Chat replied, his voice thick with emotion and meaning. He leaned down to bump his forehead with hers. “I’m glad, too.”
They stayed that way for a moment, and Marinette closed her eyes, taking in the feeling of Chat’s forehead against hers and her hand pressed against his cheek. She blinked her eyes open, and she saw that Chat had his eyes closed. He was almost unbearably close.
She pulled away. “We should keep moving,” she said, and Chat opened his eyes, regarding her with a look that made her breath catch in her throat.
“Right,” he said, his voice soft.
The next area was passed in a comfortable silence as Chat rubbed circles onto her hand with every step they took. The area was a beautiful one, shrouded mostly in darkness save for the soft glow of blue mushrooms and tall tree-looking structures that emitted the same glow that the mushrooms did.
The area itself seemed to be a maze, but Chat led her through it easily as if he had traversed it hundreds of times. Which, she thought, was an entirely real possibility.
As they reached the end of the area, they reached a sign saying something about Home and crystals. Marinette ignored it.
“Wait,” Chat said, pulling her to a stop. She looked back at him, and as she stared at his face, the light around her from the mushrooms and the jewels on the path started to fade. Chat looked around, seeming to wait for something, and the entire area fell into a darkness so deep, Marinette couldn’t even see her feet.
Her breath came quicker almost instantly, and she reached blindly for Chat, the hand still in his squeezing painfully. “Chat,” she whispered, her voice breaking, “Chat.”
“Marinette,” he whispered back, and something inside her calmed at the fact that he was still right beside her. “Breathe.”
She took in a shaking breath, still trying to find him with her other hand. He stepped closer to her, and she felt her free hand hit his arm. She gripped onto him like he was a lifeline, trying to look up and see his face, but finding she couldn’t. The gnawing fear inside her increased.
“It’s so dark,” she heaved, her grip on him tightening until it created an aching feeling in her knuckles. “So dark. Can’t see.”
A brilliant light blinded her for a moment, and she blinked fast, trying to regain her vision. She looked up at where the light was coming from, and her eyes met with Chat’s glowing green eyes.
The area around them was still shrouded in a darkness so thick it seemed as though it could be cut with a knife, but she could see Chat’s face, and she could see her own feet.
“I’m here, Marinette,” Chat whispered. “I’m here.”

A Journal by: Paola Marie Zuniga
December 16, 2019
A community blast!
Exactly 5:45 AM, I jumped out of my bed and prepared myself up. Today’s the day for our community visitation and survey. I will not deny that I kinda got excited with the thought of going out for a community immersion in a place I have never been visited.
All set! We had so much fun (or maybe only me) riding the trike to Brgy. Paraiso’s Sitio Salkan. I loved how the trike go up and down because of the rocky kind of road there – although, a part of me is kinda worried since I sat at the back part and I am undeniably heavy so, I was thinking about our tricycle getting stuck because of me. I was so excited about the ‘hiking part’ but it all disappeared when I felt my body getting heavier than it was used to be. I got tired easily and I can only think of two reasons why did that thing happened; first, because of how high the place is and second, that was the day I had my exercise ever since December started.
Everything went well, fortunately. We had interviewed 3 participants from different houses and we also had a chance to stay up on a hill and watch those eye-warming trees surrounding the whole place. We even took our lunch there and of course did some photoshoots. That is something we cannot forget, to be honest. Oh well, so much for this day. I am kinda tired with all the hiking and walking and running and stuffs and now, your little girl here needs her sleep. Ciao!

“Happy another-step-in-reaching-death Day slash legality day”
To be very honest, I wanted not to open my eyes. I mean, I know it’s my birthday and I have to be thankful for this another year being added but, who would like to celebrate their birthday without their mother? But oh well, my body betrayed me and it moved on its own plus I still need to open the boutique and do kinds of stuff there.
Tons of ‘Happy birthdays’ and such were received both personally and In social media. I am thankful for those people because I felt special with their birthday greetings and all. It made me soft and think, maybe it’s not that bad to celebrate my birthday after all, even with the absence of my mother. Also, speaking of which, my mom called me and I tried not to cry. I joked around while she cried on the other line. Ah, it hurts to hear your mom cry aye?
To be very honest, I cried while I was in the boutique – cleaning and arranging dresses. This was supposed to be a very happy and special day since I just turned 18 and here I am, doing work and just spend the entire day watching anime. Nothing special, really.
Ps: my churchmates and my tita prepared foods at the church. It lifted my spirit a little and I do appreciate the effort.

“Church thanksgiving and Christmas party!”
So far, this is the most awaited day for me. I am just ready to receive gifts and stuff from peeps in the church. Also, I am kinda excited about the prepared foods. The party started with a blast! We had the victory got talent and it was epic I must say! Every participant did a very good job and that includes my sister and two cousins who won first place in the said event.
After that segment, the most awaited part had arrived and it was EATING TIME! I only ate meat at that time and avoided rice hehe – I did not even touch the cake but then I kept on eating the fried chicken. I honestly can not stop myself at that time since I was craving for that and I know we need to feed up that craving and be happy for the rest of our lives with the help of these foods!
Receiving gifts for me is the highlight of the party- I received gifts from my Ates and Kuyas and also from my Ninongs and Ninangs. So for those who posted on Facebook about their godparents who were missing in action, I really can’t relate to your posts as of the moment (ooh, arrogance at its finest oho).
It was a great night actually, although, after the party, we went straight to the wake of my grandmother who passed away just right before my birthday. We stayed up late until 4 AM just to play lucky 9 and Bingo. I am kinda new to the card game (Lucky 9) and don’t even know a single thing so my cousin had to teach and guide me from time to time just for me to participate in the game. It was fun actually.

“A Happy Christmas”
We started this day with a dawn service in our church which for me is the best thing to do. I mean, it would be nice to start your day worshipping and praying to our creator. After the service, we had hot Choco and suman prepared by our pastor and we had fellowship with our co-members in church.
The moment we reached home from church, I found myself sleeping on my bed again. I woke up at 3PM actually and I took a bath immediately – after hours of sleeping and enjoying the dream I was having, back to the same routine again. Do some household chores then indulged myself to anime.
As the darkness finally took over, we started to become busy preparing food for the Christmas Eve. We don’t have much food for the celebration but being together, eating in one table is so much better than having lots of food but there’s no one to talk too. I kind of like being alone but I love being with my family.
Our house was filled with my music and shouts from my cousins the moment the clock struck 12. Exchanging of ‘Merry Christmas’ were heard inside our house as the 8 of us gathered around the table. We prayed and did a video call with my mom who was celebrating Christmas alone in her dorm in Cebu. ‘Twas sad honestly, seeing your mom on the screen of your phone, alone, while you’re with the rest of the family, eating together. I kind of felt sorry that she had to go somewhere far from us just for the sake of our future. But hey! It’s Christmas, we obviously does not want to break the joy we were having in our hearts, and so, we still laughed and joked around as we have our small celebration.
It was indeed, a happy Christmas.

“Mini reunion”
Every family gathering, I have always felt uninvited. Maybe because our family was known as one of the most problematic among the others and that made me feel uncomfortable every occasion.
Early in the morning as we prepare ourselves for church, my tita told me that we will be attending the reunion after church. At first, I said I am not going to show up in that gathering because I am pretty sure I will be left out, yeah – I am that negative. But after our church service, my cousins did convince me to attend the said reunion and even blackmailed me and left me no choice but attend the reunion.
The world seemed so dark to me at that time, sitting on the corner, frowning while I watch my titas and titos laugh and do crazy stuffs. At first, I really am not in the mood but when they called us out because we are about to eat, my mood changed a bit. Food can really change the world, yes. Well, I ate a lot. One thing I liked when we have gatherings is that the food being prepared are way too delicious that it made me forget how grumpy I am earlier. And since the food enlightened me up – after eating, I started to mingle with my younger cousins, they would kiss me in the cheek then we’ll sing along at the karaoke. It made me think that it wasn’t really a bad idea joining this mini reunion. The kids had their parlor games which was facilitated by me (lol) and it made me realize, kids can really wash away those negative cells you have in your body.
Guilt was slowly eating me at that time. How can I enjoy listening to their funny talks and even enjoy the presence of the kids where in the first place I was so negative about this gathering and even talked bad things about them inside my head. But here’s what I had realized like really.. I may talk bad about them but now, I will try my best to repay the goodness they were showing which I had failed to recognize through hard work in school and make them proud. Somehow, I want to be a good relative for them despite of how bad my thoughts about them are.
January 1, 2020
“2020”
To be honest, I did not started 2020 with a ‘good morning world’ since I did not sleep last night and I spent the whole night talking over the phone with my friend who was living in Makati. We talked about stuffs like our favorite anime series and of course, our cringey new year’s resolutions.
The whole first day of 2020 was not spent wisely. Body was still glued on the bed, eyes were still darted on the screen of the laptop. Productivity was nowhere to be found. I am pretty sure everyone wanted to be productive in the first day of 2020 but look who’s lazing around and let the whole world go crazy on its own as long as she get to finish her favorite anime, it’s me your girl.
6:15PM in the evening, we went to church for our midweek service. It’s kind of cool to start up 2020 with God’s words yeah? The whole preach was about reminders and of course it gave blessing to every listeners. Who wouldn’t be blessed by his words right?
The first day of 2020 ended up semi-good and semi-not. Semi-good because we went to church and heard wonderful messages and reminders and semi-not because I was not productive, I only fed up my anime desires and finished a whole series. Ugh.

“A man in green”
When boredom hits you, you sure do things just to make yourself busy and entertained. As for me, I’m clinging up unto omegle at times like that and I wasn’t really expecting to meet someone who just became my crush in just a snap.
So okay, here it goes. Every time I do omegle, my interest were always ‘bnha’ ‘mha’ and ‘anime’ and so I started the chat and words such as ‘you both like anime’ had appeared. The stranger did messaged me first with a hello with plenty of letter Os and was followed by ‘M20’. When I receive replies like that, I always end the conversation right away because I think they were just some horny dudes trying to get some nudes from girls they met in omegle but at that time, since I was bored and all, I replied ‘F18’ and did not end the conversation. Betraying my own rules, yeah the power of boredom and curiosity.
And so the guy once again replied and asked me about my favorite anime series. I did answered him that I have a lot of favorites but I then told him my favorites among the favorites which are One Punch Man and Boku no hero Academia. I was really expecting for him to freak out and end the conversation since many peeps in the anime community doesn’t like both series for its plot and both series are overrated animes but this guy replied “OMG YES SAME” and was followed by “I LIKE DEKU” “WHO’S YOUR BEST BOI” and such which I find funny so I tag along and replied him with ALL CAPS.
The whole duration of our conversation was fun and all, until we decided to exchange our instagram accounts. And there I saw a green eyed human with green hair. He is a good looking man who like rats and is obsessed with my hero Academia. While me, just a rotten potato who assumed he was a horny guy who asks nudes from girls. It was really fun and all since we are both born-again Christians and we are also both musicians in our church, he play the electric guitar in their fellowship while I play the bass guitar.
We were really having fun fanboying and fangirling over the series until he replied a.. “Let’s get married”
PS: I said yes and we are now happily living as anime couple in instagram.

A Condominium Design Flaw You Might Not Notice…
TorontoRealtyBlog
…until you’ve already bought, and are ready to move in.
As I say in the video, this isn’t really a design flaw in the building that’s going to affect your day-to-day life, but you have to wonder how in God’s name a condominium developer could make a mistake like this.
Suddenly I’m picturing Ross Gellar from Friends yelling “Pivot!  Pivvv-aaaat!” as he, Rachel, and Chandler try to move a couch up a flight of stairs…
youtube
Like I said – it’s not going to ruin your five-year span living here.
But when you go to move in, and out, and accept a delivery, you’re going to wonder why the hell the building is laid out like this.
It’s just ridiculous.
A truck pulls up to a loading bay, and everything is unloaded into a large, open area inside the building.  That’s all well and good, but then you’re supposed to carry or dolly your possessions through two commercial doors, probably 35-36 inches wide each, then navigate a bumpy interlocking-stone corridor, across to one single door, 35-36 inches on its own, where very little can fit through.
It’s a massive design flaw, and it causes problems for every single person who goes to move in.
I remember a few years back (and several security companies ago…) when I ordered a new fridge from Home Depot.  The “head” concierge or security guard at the time was incredibly overzealous, and he loved condescension.  He’s the kind of 48-year-old single guy that wakes up in his basement apartment each morning and asks his cat, “So what are you going to do today?  Laze around, lick yourself, take a crap, and wait for me to get home?  Great, thanks Mittens, that’s reaaally helpful!”
He came outside to “oversee” the delivery of the fridge, and we went to try and fit it through that stupid “moving door,” but of course, it didn’t fit.
The concierge said, “Well, that’s too bad,” and I asked him what he suggested we do.
“I can’t offer any solution, unfortunately,” he said.  “That’s the only moving door in the building,” he added, with a happy smirk.
“Do you think I should put it back on the truck, pay the restocking fee, and then keep using my broken fridge?” I asked him, partially returning the condescension he had bestowed upon me for several years, but also offering him an option that no sane person would take.
“Well, you might have to,” he said.  “This is the only moving door in the building,” he reiterated.  “There’s simply no way to get it from here, into the elevator.”
“Great, thanks,” I told the concierge, as I immediately turned toward the two moving guys from Home Depot.  “Guys, let’s go through the front door.”
Yes, the front door to the building, which is about 4-5 inches wider than the “moving door,” for some odd reason.
The concierge put up a fight, for a few minutes, and actually trotted ahead toward the door in some bizarre attempt to wave us away, but then he realized that the two 260-pound men with neck tattoos were barreling toward him, and quite intent on checking the box for another successful delivery.
So here we have this 500-unit building, with this gorgeous lobby with 18-foot ceilings, and we’re pushing a dolly and a fridge through the front door.
That stupid moving door.
I don’t understand it.
In fact, I don’t recall being in another condo with one small moving door.  Let me know if your building has something similar.
Every building has flaws; some more than others.
Remember the video I shot back in 2013 – of our party room, which also happens to contain the ONLY entrance to the common terrace?
Let me dig it up and I’ll post it below.
Imagine having your grandfather’s 90th birthday, about to take a photo of your extended family of 40 people, and in the background there are party-goers from the 5th floor, walking up the ramp to the terrace, carrying a couple two-fours.
Short of blowing a hole through the brick wall, I’m pretty sure we’re stuck with what we’ve got:
youtube
Wow, remember when we had video cameras, instead of just using our iPhone’s?
A lot changes in four years…
Anyways, if you’ve got a serious design flaw in your condo, I’d like to hear about it!
And oh, what the heck, we may as well end on this note:
